We settled down in Buffalo, NY. My parents found decent jobs we lived a middle class life, Nothing for me to complain about. During Christmas the year was 2004 I will always remember when My mother bought me My first DS with Super Mario Kart 64 for DS I fell in love with the gaming world that day.
My obsession with Video games was borderline unhealthy, I had to be limited because I lacked social interaction skills with kids my own age.
When I was 16 I played a lot of Sports just to please my parents and distract myself from playing Video Games, I tried and in a lot of people's opinion's from Coaches to my parents thought I was very gifted, But Video Games is what Spiked my Interest. from the Environment to the competition was well as the cosmetics.
I Wanted to do YouTube and Maybe start streaming but...
I was a horrible speaker and I got very awkward around people so I wanted to stream but my Personality wasn't my main problem.
It was just the fact that I wasn't good enough!

NARRATIVE of WARD COURIER

SOUTH WALES, NY

I should introduce myself. I'm Trevor Ward Courier, the voice of this book. I usually go by Ward. So you can visualize me, I'm a white guy about about six feet high and one-seventy heavy. I look like someone of my ancestry, a European mutt: Irish, Scottish, German, and English, so far as we know. I have brown hair, blue-green eyes, a sharp nose, and kind of a long skull. I am an English teacher and department chairman at an independent boarding school in rural Western New York.
I experienced a lot of what you are going to read in these pages, and when you see the word "I" or "me" in here and it's not part of a quote, the observations presented should be mine. I have a pretty good handle on the things I didn't see from interviewing some of the other players. Those I can imaginatively recreate for you, and they will be in the third person voice and often the present tense. I write those scenes as if they're happening in a film.
This is going to be two rambling, discursive books, put into one for the purposes of e-publishing. They are not going to have the tightness of the literary masterpieces I admire, ones with that sense of no word out of place and none that should be added or axed. You may even find a few typos. I keep finding them, along with awkwardnesses and blunders. But now that I've decided to write it, I have to get this story out.
This book is going to hop around in a couple of different plot tracks that took place over the span of five years. Things were happening at different times across the Americas, and from the way things came together in the end, I figured the best way to present them was in their rough chronology. A certain portion of this book, too, is comprised of my published writings exactly as they appeared, so you can see what there was in them that drew the official interest that brought me into the action. I will do my best at keeping them clear so you can keep it all straight.
I have a master's degree in British literature and know my way pretty well around European lit in general. I have a side-interest, though, that is my real niche of specialization in life: the paranormal. I'm the authority in my home region, upstate New York, though largely due my handful of books and the lack of any serious competition. I'm a reasonable scholar and interpreter of paranormal subjects and situations in general.
I have the local reputation of being a psychic detective, which I do nothing to encourage. Possibly because it is the handiest thing for people to get their heads around, it is impossible to talk people out of thinking it. I don't like false titles, but the impression certainly helps my research. I get called in on cases I would never have heard about otherwise. Lest you start getting images of the caped Dr. Strange or Dion Fortune's fictional Dr. Taverner, though, I should clarify that I am more of a historian and folklorist. I am no exorcist, either. Wouldn't touch the stuff without a Hell of a lot more training, as in, a career's worth.
There are plenty of ghost hunters in the upstate, some of them reasonably prominent. If you want an expert at running around in the dark with surveillance gadgets, any one of them would be better than I am. The upstate likewise has loads of psychics, at least people who say they are, plus UFO-geeks, exorcists, gurus, mystics, cult-leaders, spiritual healers, and representatives of just about every alternative -ism you can think of. Western New York, after all, was the home of so many alternative religious cults and communities that early in its days of white settlement it was nicknamed things like "the Burned-over District" and "the Spirit Way." It was as if the first observers thought there could have been something special about the territory itself. This is also classic Seneca country, and the insights of one of their prominent young elders is a major factor in the events these pages unfold.
I, however, am none of the above. I'm a profiler. I operate toward the paranormal with an almost Cartesian - "I think, therefore I am" - system of affirming by doubting. I'm like Peter Sellers' Inspector Clouseau: "I believe everything and I believe nothing." I start by presuming that everything I hear is just a report - human testimony. It can't all be true; I can't presume it's all false. I look for parallels in time, place, and tradition, and work back from there toward a consensus of likelihood. While certainty may not await us in any of these subject areas, there is a surprising amount you can learn through these means.
In matters paranormal, I record what people say and interpret what they have written. I try to make my conjecture based on broad patterns, not the testimony of single persons and certainly not on my own feelings or intuitions. I do not discount supernatural explanations for things; I merely save them for the last possibility standing. And I do not project meaning onto incoherent situations, either.
Under the pen name Mason Winfield, I've written a couple books about the supernatural-paranormal history of my home region, Western New York, as well as other books on the War of 1812 and the traditions of the upstate Native American League of Six Nations, the Iroquois/Hodenosaunee. I also have a website and publish many articles in magazines and papers in a typical year. Some people are convinced there really is a Mason Winfield. Hah. Does that sound like a real name? Mason Winfield? Who would name their kid Mason Winfield?
There are other people in upstate New York who write about paranormal subjects. My real niche is my broad base and my historic, objective take on the people, places, and events in the supernatural-paranormal past and present of my home region. If somebody wanted a crash course in the upstate paranormal, I would be the natural person to come to. If somebody wanted help interpreting any regional development that seemed related to any paranormal subject, I would typically get that first call.
One morning in September 2007 I checked my mailbox in the faculty lounge and spotted one of the notorious pink notes used to record messages for the faculty that come in through phone calls. This one was a summons to meet with Prescott Burns, our venerable headmaster, right after lunch in his office. "Prez," we called him, or "PB." There were variants among the faculty, like "Peanut Butter," and, "the Sandwich," and "PB-and-J," which of course evolved into just "and-J," sounding often like "NJ." "Talkin' to the Sandwich," one of us might say about heading to a meeting with him, or even, "Going to lunch," or "Brown-bagging it." My colleagues are inveterate nicknamers. Even people like me who don't pick up nicknames anywhere else get them here. If you're sensitive, don't work here.
Because of my initials - TWC, which I use to sign the countless passes and memos we exchange every day - I'm often referred to as "Cable Guy," after Time Warner Cable. Sometimes it's shortened to "T-Dub," or just "Cable." Sometimes it's "Larry," after the comedian, "Larry the Cable Guy." When I was a kid I went by my first name a lot, and people who have known me for a long time often call me "Trev." My mother has always called me "Trevor."
Sometimes a call to the boss' office is a trouble-sign, but I couldn't think of anything this one could be about. I hadn't skipped a study hall or gym duty, had a major fight with a student or colleague, spoken indiscreetly to a trustee, or shown up massively late for anything. At least not recently. That I could recall. I went in as a blank slate.
It was a bright afternoon about 1:45. I found PB in the little lobby of his spacious office conducting a meeting with the math chairman and the bookstore manager. He had his non-confidential meetings here.
I always liked the way PB dressed, like the classic New England headmaster. That day he had on dark grey pants, a powder blue Oxford shirt, and a brown herringbone tweed that went really well together. I could have done without the bow-tie - I've never once worn one - but that was an occasional given with PB. His full head of impeccably clipped white hair was a living landmark on the campus. It stood out against a crowd of campus walkers like a torch in the darkness. He got up when he saw me and met me at the door.
"Ward, I've got a call in from Ted Bennett. He's the head of the local FBI. He's asked me about you and I told him you're no terrorist. He'd like to speak to you in his office in the city. Can you get in there to see him sometime soon?"
"Well, sure," I said. "Any idea what it's about?"
"I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with one of your books," he said. "Sounds like a research question and he'd like to discuss it in person."
"I'll call him," I said.
"If you can do anything to help Ted out, I hope you'll give it due consideration," said Prescott Burns. "His dad was on the Pennsylvania with me when we were both just a little younger than you. And give him my best. I haven't seen him since he was in Sunday School."

Mendengar putusan dari hakim ketua, Eva Lee langsung meraung dan air matanya berjatuhan, sedangkan tim hakim sudah mulai keluar dari ruang sidang.

Di lain pihak, Eva Lee menangkap sosok Tuan Juan Arlo Fidel yang hendak keluar juga meninggalkan ruang sidang. Gadis itu bergegas mencegat langkah pengusaha besar batu bara tersebut, dan dia memegangi lengan dari pria besar gemuk itu seraya berkata, "Tuan, aku mohon, aku mohon cabut gugatanmu pada mamaku. Tuan, berbelas kasihan lah padaku. Tuan, aku mohon …"
Wajah dengan pandangan putus asa dan penuh air mata Eva Lee menatap Tuan Juan Arlo Fidel penuh harap. Vince Hong sampai memegangi tunangannya dan berusaha agar Eva Lee tidak menyentuh Tuan Juan Arlo Fidel.
Mata dingin Tuan Juan Arlo Fidel memandang ke Eva Lee dan berkata dengan bahasa Inggris: "Aku serahkan semua keputusan pada hakim, sebaiknya sebagai warga negara yang baik, harus menaati hukum dan putusan hakim, kan?" 
Lalu setelah itu, Tuan Juan Arlo Fidel berjalan keluar setelah Vince Hong berhasil memeluk Eva Lee dan menjauhkan tunangannya dari si pengusaha besar tersebut. 
Eva Lee tidak bisa berbuat apa-apa selain menatap kepergian Tuan Juan Arlo Fidel diiringi anak buahnya. 
"Eve … tenangkan dirimu. Eve, kita pasti bisa melakukan sesuatu. Papamu sedang berunding dengan tim penasehat hukum mamamu. Ayo, jangan seperti ini. Tabahkan hatimu dan kita bicara dengan tim penasehat hukum Mama." Vince Hong membujuk calon istrinya. 
Eva Lee pun mulai menatap mata tunangannya dan beralih ke sudut meja tempat para penasehat hukum sedang berbicara dengan ayahnya. 
Ia bersama dengan Vince Hong pun mendekat ke sana untuk mendengarkan apa yang dibicarakan. "Bagaimana, Pa?" tanya sang putri. 
Tuan Lee menoleh ke putrinya dan menjawab, "Kita bisa meminta kasasi."
"Kasasi?" Eva Lee bertanya balik dan memandangi satu demi satu tim penasehat hukum ibunya.
"Benar, kita bisa minta adanya kasasi agar nanti diadakan Pengadilan Banding Akhir atau CFA. Jika kasasi dikabulkan, maka bisa dilaksanakan pengadilan ulang."
Eva Lee tak bisa berbuat apapun selain mengangguk setuju. "Lakukan yang maksimal untuk Mama, kumohon."
Tim penasehat hukum mengangguk dan siang itu juga mereka menghadap ke Hakim Agung bersama dengan tim jaksa penuntut untuk menyampaikan keinginan terdakwa dan keluarga agar meminta adanya kasasi dan berharap akan adanya Pengadilan Banding Akhir. 
Mereka cukup berdebar-debar apakah Hakim Agung akan memenuhi permintaan ini atau menolaknya. 
"Baiklah. Sidang Banding Akhir bisa dilakukan minimal 2 bulan setelah ini. Kalian bisa mengumpulkan bukti dan saksi lebih banyak lagi. Nanti aku akan bentuk tim hakim lagi dan meninjau siapa saja yang pantas." Hakim Agung pun berucap sambil mengangguk, membuat tim penasehat hukum mendesah lega.
Tapi dari pihak jaksa penuntut memprotesnya. "Tuan Hakim Agung, untuk apa diadakan Pengadilan Banding Akhir? Apa lagi yang hendak disidangkan? Semua bukti dan saksi sudah menyatakan bahwa terdakwa bersalah."
"Tuan Jaksa, bagaimana pun, semua warga negara berhak mendapatkan keadilan hukum yang sama. Jika Nyonya Carmen meminta keadilan dengan adanya Pengadilan Banding Akhir, maka kita berikan saja sesuai dengan hak dia sebagai warga negara." Ketua Pengacara Nyonya Carmen Lee berhasil memberikan jawaban telak untuk jaksa tadi.
Tim jaksa hanya bisa mendengus dan terpaksa menerima karena Hakim Agung juga sudah mengabulkan itu. 
Hasil keputusan dari Hakim Agung tersebut disampaikan pada Tuan Lee dan rombongannya dan itu sangat melegakan. Terutama untuk Eva Lee. Ia menghujamkan wajahnya pada dada Vince Hong dan terisak lega.

Kerumunan penjemput memenuhi pintu kedatangan luar negeri bandara. Saat ini masih pukul 5 pagi namun tak menghalangi antusiasme penjemput. Termasuk diantaranya tiga -tidak hanya dua-. Dua wanita di pertengahan usia 50an.

Mereka sebenarnya datang bertiga, namun salah satu dari mereka -gadis berusia 25 tahun- lebih memilih untuk duduk jauh dari kerumunan, menguap.

"Minah, kemari!" Salah satu wanita paruh baya memanggil dengan suara cukup keras. Melambaikan tangan dengan mata sipit yang berusaha memelototi gadis yang dipanggil Minah itu.

Gadis itu mendesah malas, berjalan ogah-ogahan menuju wanita paruh baya -Ibunya- yang melotot dan wanita paruh baya yang tersenyum ramah kearahnya.

"Minah maaf, kau pasti sangat mengantuk. Seharusnya kita biarkan saja dia di rumah." Wanita ramah itu mengelus puncak kepala Minah lembut.

"Dia harus ikut. Bukankah ini untuk menyambut calon suaminya?" Ibu Minah tersenyum ke arah calon besannya. Dua wanita paruh baya itu saling pandang lalu tertawa cekikikan. Minah hanya memutar kedua bola matanya.

Calon suami? Minah benar-benar muak mendengar hal itu. Persoalan calon suami ini sudah didengarnya semenjak ia berusia 19 tahun.

Calon suami yang merupakan anak dari sahabat Ayah dan Ibunya ini. Pertunangan yang bahkan bukan karena balas budi, perjanjian antar leluhur, bahkan bukan atas dasar nama cinta, seperti kisah-kisah cinta masa muda kebanyakan.

Hanya soal hubungan baik yang terbina diantara dua keluarga, persahabatan kedua Ibu mereka. Dan betapa indahnya bila hubungan itu semakin berlanjut dengan tali pernikahan anak mereka.

Tapi baik Minah maupun calon suaminya, tak ada yang menyetujui perjodohan ini. Sampai kapanpun.

"Ah, itu dia!" Ibu calon suaminya -Ny. Boram Han- segera berjalan saat sosok lelaki berjas hitam dan berkaca mata hitam berjalan menuju pintu kedatangan.

Ibu Minah pun hendak mengikuti calon besannya itu sebelum, "Ini." Minah menyodorkan buket bunga di tangannya.

"Ibu saja yang memberikannya, dia tak akan senang melihatku. Aku akan menunggu dengan tenang di sini, atau kalau Ibu menolak aku bisa-" Minah tersenyum miring saat melihat beberap reporter mendatangi calon suaminya.

Dengan berdecak Ibu Minah mengambil buket bunga itu. "Selalu saja kau bersikap dingin pada Seunghyun. Tetap di sini, ok!"

Minah melihat dari kejauhan interaksi Ibunya, calon mertuanya, para reporter juga calon suaminya. Dagu calon suaminya begitu tegak menganggak ke atas, senyumnya lebar dan tersenyum ramah ke sana kemari. Namun tak ada yang bisa melihat sorot matanya yang tertutupi kaca mata hitam itu.

"Lihatlah, si percaya diri nan sombong itu." Minah mendengus, melipat kedua lengannya di depan dada.

"Terima kasih sudah ikut menjemput anakku Seunghyun, Minah." Ny. Boram mengelus rambut Minah, setelah mereka selesai sarapan di sebuah restoran cepat saji bandara. Minah hanya mengangguk dan tersenyum sebentar. "Jangan lupa untuk datang besok malam untuk cara makan malam penyambutan Seunghyun. Hati-hati menyetirnya, Yowon."

Minah dan Ibunya pun berpisah dengan Ny. Boram dan Seunghyun.

"Betapa tampan dan suksesnya calon menantuku. Kau lihat kan banyaknya reporter yang berebut ingin mewawancarainya. Kau beruntung akan memiliki suami seperti itu." Ny. Lee Yowon -Ibu Minah- terus saja mengoceh tentang Seunghyun dan Seunghyun lagi, sepanjang jalan. Minah lebih banyak mengatupkan bibirnya, menguap beberapa kali, sibuk melihat ke luar jendela yang lebih cerah dari takdirnya.

"Sikapmu ini, sikapmu yang seperti ini." Ny. Yowon mengatupkan bibirnya, menatap pada anaknya yang masih terus menatap ke luar jendela. "Kau itu sangat beruntung, tak tahukah kau akan hal itu? Yak, aku berbicara padamu!" Ny. Yowon menggoyangkan bahu Minah yang kini lebih memilih menyandarkan kepalanya pada jendela sambil menutup kedua matanya.

"Ibu," Minah beralih menatap Ibunya. "Kami tidak saling menyukai, sejak lama. Kami tidak akan pernah bisa memiliki hubungan indah seperti kalian, untuk berteman saja tidak mungkin. Jadi hancurkan saja harapan Ibu itu. Ini bukan keberuntungan. Sudah berapa kali aku mengatakannya."

"Aku selalu tak mengerti apa yang kau tidak sukai dari Seunghyun." Suara Ny. Yowon kini lebih lembut.

"Semua, semua yang ada di dirinya, aku tidak menyukainya, karena dia adalah Seunghyun. Ibu tak sadar setebal apa bedak yang dipakai di wajahnya itu? Aku pikir Ibu sangat lihai menilai orang lain." Mendengarnya Ny. Yowon hanya menghela napas. "Aku menyukai seseorang seperti Ayahku."

"Ayahmu? Apa yang kau sukai dari pria yang berjalan lurus tanpa memiliki ambisi? Seunghyun, di usianya yang muda dia sudah memiliki hampir segalanya."

"Apa itu artinya Ibu tak bahagia selama ini hidup bersama Ayah, kami?"

Ny. Yowon melotot, "Kau menyerang hatiku dengan sekali tepuk." Setelah itu dia tertawa. "Tentu saja aku bahagia bersama Ayahmu. Namun, kalau aku bertemu dengan Seunghyun lebih dulu, aku tak akan menolaknya."

Ny. Yowon tertawa lebih keras, Minah kembali melihat ke luar jendela. Perjalanan ke rumah, selanjutnya penuh keheningan.

Minah menuruni tangga rumahnya dengan rambut acak-acakan. Bau harum bumbu yang sedang ditumis memenuhi dapur. Dengan cepat Minah menuju dapur, duduk di meja makan, namun tangannya segera mendapat pukulan. Gadis itu dengap sigap sudah meraup keripik kentang dan memasukkannya segera ke dalam mulut.

Ibunya menggelengkan kepalanya dan krmbali ke depan kompor yang masih menyala, mengaduk-aduk sup.

"Ibu apa sarapannya belum siap? Aku sudah sangat lapar." Minah merengut sambil mengetuk-ngetukkan jemarinya di atas meja.

Delikan tajam kembali terlihat di wajah Ny. Bang, "Ini sudah hampir waktunya makan malam." Dengan sendok sup, Ny. Bang menunjuk ke arah jam dinding. "Kau ini." Saat melihat Minah tersenyum bodoh padanya.

"Kau tidak lupa acara nanti malam kan?" Tanya Ny. Bang kembali mengaduk supnya.

Minah hanya menjawab "hmm", membaringkan kepalanya di meja makan. Semalaman ia sibuk membuat sebuah lagu, baru tidur pukul 5 pagi, perutnya sangat lapar sekarang, dan Ibunya malah membahas soal undangan acara makan malam untuk penyambutan Seungri si sombong itu.

"Kalau kau ingin makan, datang di acara nanti malam."

"Lalu sup buatan Ibu itu untuk siapa?"

"Ini untuk uji coba menu baru."

Lagi? Ucap Minah dalam hati. Menghela napas, ia tak ada energi untuk berdebat dengan Ibunya.

"Cuci wajahmu dan mandi sana. Seo Yoon akan datang membawa gaun yang akan kau pakai nanti."

"Ibu, haruskah sampai memesan gaun pada bibi?" Kepala Minah kini tegak, kedua matanya yang seperti bulan sabit itu terbuka lebar. "Aku bisa saja memakai pakaianku yang biasanya."

"Kau harus terlihat cantik dan menggagumkan di hadapan semua orang nanti malam."

Kedua mata Minah menyipit, "Ibu, ini bukan salah satu rencana untuk mengumumkan pertunangan itu, kan?"

Setelah mematikan kompor, Ibu Minah menuangkan sup ke dalam termos makanan, kemudian pergi mencuci tangan. "Karena kau mengatakan itu, sepertinya terdengar bagus. Haruskah kita melakukannya?"

"Ibu!" Suara lengkingan dari bibir Minah tam membuat ekspresi Ny. Yowon berubah. "Kami tidak saling menyukai, Bu. Aku tak mau menikah dengan orang yang tidak aku cintai. Apapun alasannya!" Minah lalu berdiri , menggerutu sambil menghentakkan kakinya di lantai. Berjalan kembali ke kamarnya.

"Kau harus datang nanti malam! Kau dengar itu!" Teriak Ny. Yowon, memandangi Ninah yang menaiki tangga.

Ketukan pintu terdengar, dengan langkah malas Minah membuka pintu kamarnya. Bibirnya yang sudah hendak menghardik siapapun yang berada di depan pintu kamarnya, terkatup saat melihat seorang gadis yang melambaikan tangan sambil tersenyum.

"Kau," Minah membuka pintu kamarnya lebar. Membiarkan gadis itu masuk lalu menutup pintu kamarnya lagi.

"Aku membawakanmu gaun, Eonni. " Gadis itu memajukan tas berukuran cukup besar yang dia vawa, membuat Minah menghela napas panjang. "Bibi cukup cerewet hari ini, memintaku untuk segera datang." Gadis itu mengeluarkan satu per satu gaun dari dalam tasnya.

"Gaun macam apa ini?" Minah mendengus melihat gaun-gaun di hadapannya. "Sudah berapa lama kita saling mengenal, Seo Yoon?" Berdiri dan membaringkan tubuhnya di ranjang.

"Ini semua pilihan Bibi." Seo Yoon menyusun dengan rapi gaun-gaun yang ia bawa. "Lagi pula bagaimana bisa menggunakan standar seleramu untuk acara nanti malam. Itu yang Bibi bilang pada kami." Tambah Seo Yoon saat melihat tatapan tajam Minah untuknya.

"Itu hanya makan malam biasa saja kan? Bukan acara penghargaan atau semacamnya. Segala hal tentang Lee Seungri tak ada pentingnya untukku." Minah menyelimuti dirinya, menutup kedua matanya erat.

"Ini memang hanya perayaan biasa. Tapi katanya akan ada beberapa wartawan yang meliput juga. Kau tau kan seberapa populernya Seungri. Jadi-"

"Aku tidak pedulu, tak ada urusannya denganku."

Seo Yoon menghela napasnya, membaringkan tubuhnya di samping Minah. "Eonni, tak bisakah kau melakukan ini untuk Bibi? Bibi begitu menyukai Seungri dan-"

"Aku sangat tak suka padanya." Potong Minah cepat dengan penuh penekanan. "Kau sudah berubah haluan Seo Yoon?"

"Bukan begitu, aku hanya tersentuh mendengar ucapan Bibi tentang harapan hubunganmu dengan Seungri. Jadi aku pikir, tak bisakah Eonni sekali saja melakukan ini untuk Bibi? Kita mungkin bisa membujuk Seungri untuk membiarkanmu mewujudkan mimpimu walau kalian sudah menikah."

"Tidak mau! Tidak akan pernah!"

Menghela napas sekali lagi. Ikut membaringkan tubuhnya di samoing Minah. Kedua mata Seo Yoon menatap langit-langit kamar. "Tak ada yang bisa membuatmu menurut kan, Eonni. Aku hanya ingin melihat kau, Bibi dan Paman selalu berbahagia. Itu saja. Dan kau tau kan aku akan selalu berada di sampingmu apapun yang terjadi." 

Minah membuka selimut yang yang menutupi seluruh tubuhnya. Menatap Seo Yoon dengan kedua mata yang berbinar. "Kau harus membantuku."

"Eh?"

"Wah, dia benar-benar tidak datang, Hyung. Dia benar-benar bisa mengabaikan seorang Lee Seungri."

Seorang lelaki yang dipanggil Seungri hanya menatap lelaki di sampingnya dengan pandangan datar. "Aku pun tak berharap dia datang. Hanya saja telingaku begitu sakit mendengar Ibuku terus saja menyebut namanya."

"Tapi temannya berada di sini." Lelaki itu -Taemin- menunjuk seorang gadis yang sedang membawa piring-piring bekas pesta.

"Seo Yoon? Gadis itu mungkin seperti anak ayam yang mengikuti Minah kemanapun, tapi setidaknya Seo Yoon masih patuh pada ucapan Ibunya."

"Aku hanya tidak percaya, Hyung. Dia membiarkan Minah mengikat dan memberinya obat tidur, hanya agar Minah bisa kabur dari rumah. Lihat dia, tertawa-tawa seperti itu." Taemin mendengus. Kedua mata baik milik Taemin atau Seungri, mengikuti setiap pergerakan Seo Yoon.

"Kali ini Minah memang sudah keterlaluan."

It was different from now. The person who accompanied her was now standing by her side - Di Fuyi. She felt inexplicably excited as if she owned the world. 

Di Fuyi was particular with cleanliness. Apparently, this guy did not always come to the night market, so when Gu Xijiu brought him to the night market he somewhat resisted… 

Gu Xijiu explained to him, the food culture of a city was not shark's fin or bird's nest boasted by luxurious restaurants, but the street food in the night market.

After the detailed explanation by Gu Xijiu, Di Fuyi finally sat down with her in front of a food stall…
Of course, when he sat down, he applied the cleaning spell so the chair they sat on became as clean as freshly washed. Some of the tables and chairs had been very smokey and the original color could not be seen. However, after being used by Celestial Master Zuo, the table and chairs became new as if a layer of skin had been peeled off and revealed the original color.

Di Fuyi was actually not interested in these street foods. He was a very picky eater. Sometimes he was not even interested in the meal prepared by the famous chef.

When Gu Xijiu was eating, she felt that he always watching her. He looked at her with almost every bite whenever he ate the food in his hand…

This man had always been the superior. Regardless where he went, he was always elegant and clean. Now, he had to sit by the roadside and eat poorly. Gu Xijiu felt a certain sense of pity towards him but was also a bit excited. She purposely asked him, "How does it taste?"

At this moment Di Fuyi was trying to bite the fish ball from a stick. When she asked, he looked up at her and thought for a moment. He honestly asked her, "Do you want to hear the truth or a lie?"

Gu Xijiu was speechless. She could not help laughing and pulled him up, "Alright, I don't want to make your stomach suffer. Let's go."

Di Fuyi was relieved and he threw the fishball stick that made his stomach churn. He held her hand continued walking.

He was rich. He would buy everything that Gu Xijiu liked. After a few times, all the sellers on the street had known that the both of them were rich. When the sellers saw them, they served them very politely and attentively.

It was a rewarding trip after they walked for one round.

Fortunately, she had a super spacious storage bag. No matter how big the thing was, she could store them in the storage bag without it being cumbersome.

In fact, the things sold in this stall were special but not rare nor precious. Gu Xijiu bought them just for fun and also to give away to her friends.   

Both of them just casually shopped and Di Fuyi just followed Gu Xijiu.

He never thought that he would have the free time to casually shop. He used to travel to different and nice places with beautiful scenery. However, it was his first time shopping with a woman. 

Surprisingly, he did not feel bored but was still very happy. Especially when he saw her sparkling eyes, he was even happier. 

Although they had changed and made up, they were a man and a woman who looked handsome and pretty.

Those sellers were also very good at selling. They always praised them as the perfect couple and greeted them with best wishes.

Whenever they talked about this, Di Fuyi was even happier and became exceptionally generous. Sometimes the money he paid was even more than the price of the product.

That's right I Mr. Richard Roswald Jackson is a person re living my life. Not only i came back in the past in 1975 but also can remember everything up until i died on 2020.
When i came back at fist i was shocked but then i became excited. Why? Because  i can change my life for the better, i can realize the dreams which i couldn't in previous life. I could live a life far better then the life i had previous.
My previous life was worse. As my family is well known and successful, having such an amazing family can be both pressuring and blessing. Pressuring because, if have live unto expectation of not only your parents but also the surroundings otherwise they will compare ,make fun of you.
But I couldn't bare the pressure and by the time I became 18 i collapsed. oh boy! i fell hard!!!. I was academically good, it turned worse. i stated to become rebellious. arguing with parents , keeping distance from them, parting, fighting ,drinking, drugs etc i became all in all problem child.
it turned out to be the worst decision of my life. Because by continuing this kind of life my body deteriorated. Finally the worse turn came, I had an accident and the result I became bedridden for my life, worse disease started coming from left to right.
 All i could have done at that time is watch movies, tv series or read books. beside that due to fathers influence look at the investment market and help my father with his work.
Finally at the age of 45 my body collapsed after fighting for a long time. During my last breath I wised if i could have relived this life once again. And  I don't know which supreme being heard my wish because I am for ever grateful to him.
 And that is how I came back to the past. Now onward to the story....

Month have gone since the  kitchen discussion, the kids column of NY times started get popular as interesting short stories are been publishing every week under a name R.R Jackson. Popularity might not been seen during first week but after that it started to grow.
One day, a family of three on Zionsville just having a breakfast in a living room, the child of this family, a 9 year old girl was reading a newspaper and see this, her parents treat this as normal occurrence as entertainment for the kids have been matured enough like smart phones or video games era. 
See his daughter seem fascinated reading a newspaper, the father feel curious and ask his daughter. " What's on the news sweetheart? I've never seen you such having those interest reading newspaper."
The daughter heard her father saying that immediately felt irritated," Dad, I'm concentrating on reading this story, you know it's really hard to read on the newspaper".
Hearing that, her father didn't feel angry at all and become more curious for his daughter behavior, " Okay sweetheart, I will just wait for you finish the story and then you tell me what this is story about" her father just smiled after saying that.
The mother saw the father daughter interaction just smiled and also became interested about what her daughter read. A moment passed and the girl has read the story with both happy and frustrated expression on her face, her father become curious,  seeing this she began narrate the story to her parents

" This short story is the best that I have read mom, dad. It's exciting and funny. But dad whats a string ray? Does it look like a large butterfly too bad it has no illustration on it, can we go to fish aquarium see string ray dad  and this story still has continuation and won't be released next week. But dad, newspaper story is usually different each week and I'm afraid I won't get the continuation next week."
Seeing her frustrated but hopeful face girls dad laughed "hahaha... Don't worry dear i will send request mail to the editor of NY times and of course I will take you to the aquarium to see a string ray"
"really dad!!! yaaa!!!!" the girl became excited hugged her dad.
And this situation occurs at least in a thousand household in N.Y. and few parts of the States that subscribing the N.Y. Times. It occurred not only for the stories it self but the clever tactic used by Richard himself. 
When he created the short stories the volume was really large, so in order to publish in the paper it was usually divided into two or three parts but he cleverly divided the story in such a way that when ever a reader finishes one part they not only became frustrated but also crave for the latter part of the story which drives the popularity even more.
As the short stories grow popular the sales and the subscribing number of NY Times also grows which in turn they urge Richard to give them more  priority by giving him 200$-250$ each article writing in there kids column.
With  in the next few months Richards short stories not only became popular among the kids but also among their parents. the author R.R Jackson became topic of discussion on dinner table in many households. Not only the NY times have sold like hot cakes but there was substantial visitors specially families with kids from 6 to 12 years old in many water zoos or aquarium parks through out the states. 
During this frenzy time when a book named <My Ocean Stories> by R.R Jackson which was no  only the compilation of this short stories but also illustration of different characters where published . It not only sold more than 150,000 copies trough out US but also took 10th place in the bestseller list.
The guy who created this is situation doing dancing practice for his upcoming show stage show audition in Broadway.

I looked at him out of the corner of my eye, he was walking towards the library, drowned in his thoughts ... his shoulders were bent and there was no trace of his usual smile on his lips...we broke him! 

"I have an awful feeling Luke ... why did you do that? I don't have a good feeling at all that we betrayed Louis like this!" Calum whispered sadly, and I took a deep breath. My heart ached when I saw Louis in that state, but what was our other choice? 

"I'm not enjoying this! I feel guilty too, but we had no other choice ... we have to stick to Zayn ... It's captain's direct order!" 

"Fuck ... I'll rather be punished again for disobeying, instead of staying beside Zayn and betraying Louis... Luke, we're also to blame for this mess! We caused him to lose Liam. Liam was the best support Louis could ever have, and Liam wasn't just his physical supporter ... Luke, Louis lost his best friend! You don't want to say anything?" 

Callum complained with a thick frown, and I nodded slowly. His words reminded me of an interesting matter that I wanted to talk to him about it. It did not make sense! 

"Why yes...with all the strange and powerful feelings I have for Louis and I can say with confidence that I prefer Louis over Zayn, we should keep that in mind that it was Louis's choice! Calum isn't this seem strange to you? Isn't it odd that he chose Zayn instead of his best friend? Someone who makes his life like hell?" 

When I asked him excitedly and surprised, he raised his head and stares at me with big eyes... 

"Don't tell me you just understood what happened and what exactly Louis did!" 

He glanced around, and after he made sure that Zayn was busy with his cousin, Daniel, he got closer to me with shining eyes! 

"What...of course not! But ... did you notice what he said when he was arguing with us in the parking lot? He said because we couldn't stop the fight, he was forced to lose one of his most important ones ... Think about it, Luke...He said he had to choose between his most important ones!" He said excitedly and my eyes widened... 

"And that means Zayn is just as important to him as Liam, and when he has to choose ..." 

"He will prefer the one who is like a bat in his ass all the time, to his best friend and supporter! This situation is becoming more and more interesting!" Calum completed my sentence excitedly and glanced at Zayn who was still talking to his cousin. 

"We have to talk to the captain tonight and tell him that there are many suspicious things in this situation ... Call him!" I said hurriedly but he just grinned like the idiot he was! 

"Why don't you call him yourself?" He asked with excitement, smirking like a hyena and all I wanted at that moment was to kick him right in the face! 

"Well...what difference does it make? You call him!" I ordered strictly and he smiled with his whole ugly face! He was in the mood to annoy the shit out of me...again! 

"Oh my ... someone is being shy in here! Why are you embarrassed, buddy? The captain isn't really your boyfriend! You know that, right?" He whispered mischievously and I rolled my eyes at him angrily! Maybe it wasn't a bad idea to report his unprofessional behavior to boss Ashford! 

"Be careful of what you say! And it's forbidden to discuss private matters in public! Now shut up and call him!" 

"You're talking nonsense! You'll finally confess. I'm sure of that one!" He winked at me then he stopped his teasing and pulled his phone out of his pocket when he sensed that I'm at my breaking point and might beat him to death! 

"What happened?" He looked at me with a small frown and surprised, pushed his phone into his pocket. 

"His phone is off! Hey ... what do you think about seeing the captain in person? Louis knows us now and there isn't any reason we can't go to the store. We can take Louis with us and explain our reasons for him...what do you say?" 

I thought about it for a moment and when I saw that it wasn't much of a bad idea, I nodded with a small smile." You can think too...sometimes!" 

"Fuck you!" 

I leaned against my seat with a smile and looked at Zayn who was whispering with his cousin. The interesting thing that was making me take the risk and go to the store with Calum was that apart from Louis's behavior, Zayn's behavior was also very strange! He acted as if he was sure that Louis would choose him, he was clinging to Louis in such a way that as if he has known him for several years ... Weird! 

I had memorized all of Louis's schedule, and I knew he had class until three PM, and because we had chosen all of our Curriculums similar to Zayn's, all of our classes were shared with Louis too ... Oh fuck! 

How we didn't realize that Zayn always harmonizes with Louis? Whether in his class's, whether in the days that he comes to university! Zayn always is perfectly in line with Louis's schedule! 

As soon as the professor left the class, I took my things and got up from my seat... 

 "Ok, let's go!" Calum whispered with excitement and I tried to not look so satisfied with my decision. But God...it felt so good! 

"Where do you think you're going? One of us must stay with Zayn, otherwise, we have a 100% chance to get punished! You stay here and make an excuse for me so I can take Louis with me to the store and explain the situation to the captain. Okay, buddy?" 

"I really appreciate it when you ask my opinion about everything! I hate you dickhead ...the cool parts are always yours!" 

I clapped his shoulder with a smirk and hurried out of the classroom to find him before he could left the university , and I was finally able to get close to him in the parking lot ... small body and high speed! 

"Louis!" 

Hearing my voice, he turned to me in surprise and when he saw me, his eyes widened... 

"Why are you here? Are you crazy? If Zayn hears that you still talking to me, it will end badly for you!" He said anxiously and looked around quickly to make sure Zayn or his group were not close enough to see us together in the crowded parking lot...He was so kind and Seeing him alone and sad was burning my heart... 

"I don't care, Louis ... we have to talk. Can I take you to the store?" 

He looked at me for a moment and then nodded with a smile. "I love motor riding!" 

"Then let's go!" 

Until we get to the store, he made me laugh so many times with his crazy jokes, he tested his drumming skills on my helmet and blocked my view a few times with his hands...In general, he almost killed us few times, but it was good! It was great to have someone like Louis by my side. He was acting as if he had no grudge against me...As if he already forgot what we did to him a few hours ago! 

I parked my motorcycle in the parking lot of the store, and I wanted to tell him that he could get off, but even before I could turn off the motorcycle, Louis quickly jumped down of it like a rabbit! With a laugh, he took the helmet off his head and gave it to me and arranged his hair... 

"Thanks, buddy ... It has been a long time since the store route wasn't this pleasant for me!" 

With a smile, I put my helmet on the tank and got off my motorcycle. I was so happy that I was able to change his mood at least a little bit...betraying him in front of everyone was a bitchy move! 

"Don't mention it! In fact...Louis...I wanted to talk to you about something." 

He stared at me for a few seconds, confused, and then shook his head with a smile. "You mean the parking lot drama? Forget it!" 

"But..." I tried to protest but when I saw his relaxed and smiley face, I knew he wasn't angry with us from the beginning! 

"Seriously. You don't have to bother yourself. My issue with Liam and Zayn was my fault, and in fact, I have to apologize! I had no right to talk to you and Calum like that. I made a rash decision and I was furious because I did not know what exactly I did! Just forget it! " 

"Really?" He nodded with a gentle smile that warmed my heart! I really wanted the Alpha to be Louis! 

"Yeah! Don't worry about it! Aren't you coming inside? I think Ashton is already inside. He's always early!" 

I nodded with a big smile and he laughed out loud while walking beside me towards the entrance of the store... 

"I have a question...New sellers should always check in sooner than the senior sellers?" 

"Of course not! Until yesterday, I was the one who opened the shop, but because my schedule was disrupted due to the university and my new project, yesterday I handed over the key to our chief manager and arranged a break between the university and work for myself ... I really needed it!" 

I glanced at his tired face and bit my lip ... Sora had said that the alpha we are looking for is rich in every way ... Louis's financial state wasn't good at all, and Zayn...that rude bastard had a perfect condition! 

"What are you thinking about so deeply?" He was staring at me with a grin and I had to come up with a convincing answer very soon! Uh... 

"Ashton?" 

"Then what are you doing here? If you want to be naughty with your boyfriend, you have to walk faster! Robin likes her sellers to be behind their counter during working hours! " 

My cheeks were burning with embarrassment but I nodded anyway! He was right...I needed to see my boyfri...captain! NOT for naughty things...I had a piece of really important information!

"Dear you know you could sleep in a little, take it easy on the weekend. I know how much you are busy in NY" His grandmother said when Nathaniel entered her home after his morning run. 

Since the weather was turning colder, Nathaniel had run in sweatpants and sweater. The good side was since he had a lot of clothes here he did not have to take anything from his home and they had simply driven here after he had been picked up from the street. His grandmother had made sure that he had plenty of clothes in his room here, in fact he had so much clothes here that he could wear one different attire everyday and not worry about washing them for at least three months. 

"I did grandma. I love it here, the sea air kind of appeases me. I love New York, don't get me wrong but I think when I'm older, I would live near water." Nathaniel said.

Taking his sweater off while he was talking and showing his perfect musculature for everyone to see. A couple of maids nearby could not resist the temptation to gawk, mesmerized. Diane looks at them with a knowing smile before clearing her throat. 

"Ladies, the room is clean, you can go back somewhere else." Diane said, taking them off their perusing before going to work in another room. 

"Grandma?" Nathaniel asked, curious to know why she made the maid leaves. 

"They were not very polite gawking at you like that. I'm glad to hear that you like it there, that means I will not have to kidnap you again in the future?" She asked, smiling. 

"Of course, I'm sorry grandma that I do not talk often. I'm kind of doing my own thing sometimes and end up not giving people that deserve it my attention." 

"Yes, I can see that. You are like your grandfather. He told me by the way that he was impressed with your way of dealing with unpleasant people." 

"I'm not sure if he phrased it like that." Nathaniel said with a knowing look. 

"Well, he did not say it in so many words but I have been married to that particular man for more than forty years. I know what is going on in his mind. I was going to the market this morning to buy fresh food, I like it too when I get some air and it's good for my legs. I need to be escorted by strong men to take my bags of grossery. Usually I bring some of our security guards but since you are here, I was hoping that you will be my escort." 

"Don't say anymore grandma, let me shower, put some clothes on and I will walk with you there." Nathaniel said, running to the first floor, making Diane smile pleasantly. 

A half hour later, they were both inside the farmers market, walking between the stands. One of the security guards had driven them here and was waiting in the car while they were shopping. It had taken some convincing to get him to stay in the car. He usually had hard instruction against leaving Diane alone and Nathaniel had to be firm with him to convince him to not follow them. The grandmother and grandson pair just wanted to shop alone without anyone following them and Nathaniel knew he was enough to keep both of them safe. 

"What are you thinking about these watermelons dear?" Diane asked, giving him a fruit. 

"They look good grandma and I will be happy to eat them." Nathaniel answered. 

It was true that in NY he did not eat healthily and rarely ate any fruits. It was a bad habit that he had and he needed to stop doing it soon because he needed to reinforce his body if he wanted to use his soul power to reinforce his muscles without permanent damage to himself. He was thinking about taking some of the fruits that he bought with his grandmother home to eat them there. 

Paying what they owe, Diane and Nathaniel kept walking together. Nathaniel could see that his grandmother was a regular here as each of the sellers were familiar with her and engaged easily into a conversation. 

"So, Mary told me that you have a girlfriend now?" Diane said. 

"Not really, nothing serious so far. We just want to have fun." Nathaniel answered. 

"Ah, young people these days." She shook her head, disappointed. "Is she from a good family at least?" 

"Grandma." Nathaniel sighed. 

"What? I just want to see my only grandson with a girl that deserves him." Diane defended.

"Yes, I know grandma but don't worry about it alright? Like I said, it's not that serious between us." 

"Alright, I will trust you for now. Can you go to that stand and bring me a couple of lemons? I need to rest my legs a little." 

"Of course, I will be right back." Nathaniel said, walking in the direction of that stand. 

Diane did not even have the time to sit when she spotted someone that she knew walking stand by a stand like she was doing. 

"Victoria?" Diane called.   

Hearing the call, the woman's head turned in the direction the voice was coming from and saw who was calling her. Excusing herself from the vendor, she walked in the direction of Diane and the two women kissed each other's cheek. 

"Hello Diane, good surprise to see you here." 

"Yes likewise. I do not get to see you here often." 

"It's true but it is a weekend special for us. Are you here all by yourself?" Victoria asked, looking around Diane. 

"No, I'm being escorted by my lovely grandson." She answered, turning where Nathaniel was. "Nathaniel, dear. Can you come here please?" 

Hearing the call, Nathaniel urged himself to pay for the lemon fast and walked to his grandmother. She was talking with a woman around forty years old. She had brown hair, green eyes and was quite pretty. He could see that the woman had undergone some esthetic surgery on her nose but still her face was really familiar to Nathaniel. 

"Hello, I'm Nathaniel Lyndon." He introduced himself as his two hands were taken up by the grocery bags.  

"Dear, this is Victoria Livingston. A good friend of mine." His grandmother introduced him. 

"Glad to meet you, young man. I remember now that we were invited to your welcome back party but were forced to miss it because we were out of the country at that time." 

"It's understandable." Nathaniel answered. That last name of hers sounded really familiar to him. He was sure he was missing something really obvious right now. 
 
"And you, are you alone?" Diane asked. 

"No, of course not, I'm with my two daughters. They should be around here somewhere." Victoria said, searching behind her until she finally found them. "Girls come here please." She called. 

A few moments later two really beautiful girls around twenty years old appeared giggling behind a stand and made their way over to them. One of them was hidden by Victoria but Nathaniel could clearly see the other. She was around twenty five years old with the same black hair as her mother but with dark eyes. She was extremely pretty and Nathaniel was once again hit by that impression of familiarity that he got previously. 

That's when the second girl finally appeared behind her mother and the two of them locked eyes, freezing in place. 

"Let me introduce you." Victoria started to say before she was quickly interrupted. 

"Nath?" The girl exclaimed in surprise.

"Madie?" He answered in the same way. 

"Nath?" Diane repeated. 

"Madie?" Victoria and her daughter repeated even more surprised. 

"Wait, you know each other?" Madison's sister asked. 

"Yes, we are in the same college." Madison answered quickly, trying to hide her flustered expression from her sister and mother. 

"Well, it is really a small world sometimes." Victoria said, laughing a little.

Diane smiled but did not say anything in response. That flustered expression on her grandson and the girl did not escape her scrutinizing eyes and she was sure that there was more to this story. The sister of Madison was not fooled for a second either and started smiling. 

"Hi, I'm Elisabeth Livingston. Glad to meet you." She said. 

"Nathaniel Lyndon, glad to meet you too." He introduced himself right back.  

"So you know my sister right? Can I know how? Even if you are both in Columbia, this is a big place so I'm curious to know. I'm also curious to know why Madison did not kill you when you called her 'Madie'. She hates nicknames, it is well known." 

"Don't answer that Nath! Elisabeth here is as curious as a cat, the more you answer her, the more she will want to know." She warned. 

Understanding what her daughter was implying and the reaction of Madison, Victoria picked up quickly on what was going on and also started smiling.  

"Nathaniel. I'm not sure if you know this but this weekend it's my son's birthday and the family is meeting in our house in the Hampton. You know that kind of event is always more enjoyable when you are with some company. Alas Madison here will be all alone this weekend. Since you seem to be friends, can I ask you to act as an escort for my daughter?" 

"Mom!" Madison exclaimed wrongly. 

"I do this for your own good, Madison." Victoria answered, her eyes flickering to her before coming back to Nathaniel, expectantly. 

"Thank you for the invite but I'm already busy being the escort of my loving grandmother here." Nathaniel answered with a little smile. He had refused because he had noticed the pleading look in Madison eyes and did not want to intrude in her life. 

"Don't worry about me, dear. Since you two are friends, it will not be very gentlemanly if you were to leave Madison all alone this weekend." Diane interjected mischievously.  

Seeing that he would not get any help from his grandmother, he resigned himself to accept. 

"Of course I will come." He finally answered. 

"Glad to hear it. I'm sure Madison will text you our address and the hour to the party later. Now, we need to get going. It was a pleasure Diane." Victoria said before leaving. Elisabeth took Madison's hand and dragged her with her and started to talk to her, eyeing Nathaniel a couple of times.

Nathaniel was in a coma for four years or at least that is what everyone thought. In reality he was trapped. Trapped in an endless dark world. 

That is until the freshly died soul of Marc, a CIA agent, came along and tried to take over his body. By an accident their souls merged and Nathaniel woke up with Marc's memories intact.
