Takei and Imai deal with one of the most common gripes in today's world: choosing what to watch.

Back Story:

Chris as the main protagonist is an average boy who loves watching movies, and he leaves with his parents.

but after he found out about his lost long movie blade trinity he sneaked out at night  to buy the movie on his way home he met the unexpected.

Luke sighs as he looks into the steamy mirror. He just finished taking a shower and started flexing in the mirror. "Guess I need to do more push ups." He quickly puts his clothes on and heads downstairs. 
"Ah son! Just in time. Come on grab the popcorn, the movie is about to start." Randy motions Luke over to the couch. Luke grabs the popcorn and hops into the seat. 
The movie starts and title pops on the screen,"Aliens." "Even though we've watched this movie a thousand times, it seems to never get old," Luke said. "Ah, yes. My favorite movie, I just love it when the facehugger latches itself to everyone and then eventually the xenomorph explodes out of their chest," Randy said. 

….

The credits start rolling and Randy is passed out on the couch. Luke rubs his eyes. He looks at his phone for the time. "Ugh it's 12:07, knowing Dad he'll want to get up early in the morning." 
Luke gets up and heads up the stair to his room. He looks for his phone charger and then remembers he left it in the car. "Crap." He sighs and shuffled back down the steps and out the front door. The cool night air feels nice against Luke's warm skin. 
He steps over to his dad's car and opens the door. He nabs his charger and then shuts the door. Luke sees his reflection on the sidewalk and look up at the night sky. "Man that's pretty." He pushes his glasses up. "Full moon huh." He smiles slyly. "Wonder if there's any werewolves around, awoooo!" Luke does a wolf howl just for fun. Silence returns him. He shrugs and starts back to the house. 
A stick breaks in the woods, beside his house, causing him to stop. "What was that?" Luke hesitates for a moment and looks in the direction the sound came from. Another stick breaks and Luke holds his breath. Luke can hear slow steps coming towards him. He starts taking slow steps back.
'It's right there, holy shit!'
The figure jumps out of the bushes and Luke gives a small squeal. "Meow?" Luke opens his eyes to see a small grey cat. He gives a small sigh of relief and chuckles. "Scared by a cat, man I'm pathetic." He kneels and holds his hand out. The cat walks to his hand, purring, longing for attention. 
"Good kitty, you know you scared me back there." "Meow?" Luke finishes petting the cat and starts to walk away. Another stick breaks in the woods. Luke whips around and is looking intently, trying to find what made the noise in the night. He waits a moment and then just decides it's nothing. "Probably just another darn cat." 
A cold and chilling wolf howl filled the area. Scared out of his mind, Luke ran back into his house, slammed the door, and locked it. 
He rest against it and breathes a sigh of relief. He just remembered his dad was asleep on the couch, so he turned and looked into the living room to see a sleeping father. Luke smiled for just a split second but then frowned at the thought of a wolf being near his home. 
'I'll tell Dad about this in the morning, right now I'm just too tired, ugh I hate being a little bitch sometimes.' He shakes his head as he heads up to his room.

"Haha! Did you see him run like a terrified child!" A male teen, just finished morphing back into his human form and is putting his clothes back on. 
"Yes I saw, whoopty doo." The blonde teen just rolled her eyes at her ridiculous friend. "Come on Allie, lighten up, you've been tense since that whole werewolf hunter deal." She stomps up to him. "That werewolf hunter, was the one who kill Leon's little brother, I think you should take that situation a little more serious, Jack." Allie crosses her arms. "I still haven't forgiven that dead fucker anyways." Jack brushes his chocolate brown hair from his eyes and gives her an understanding smile. "Well I got some news you might like." Allie grunts letting him know she's listening. "Well," Jack says, putting on his shirt, "I was talking to Leon on that hunter and he said that he thinks he's got a lead on where that hunter's base might be." "WHAT?" Allie unfolds her arms and looks towards Jack. "Yeah said that a pack in North Dakota, just past the state border, 15 hours from here, knew of a hunter base that they was fixing to get ready to destroy, so it's possible that hunter came from that base, and if he's not?" Jack shrugs his shoulders. "Then we just killed a bunch of hunters." 
Allie looks at her feet, lost in thought. Jack slips on his shoes. Allie then brings out her phone and checks the time. "Come on we need to get going. We got to finish patrolling the territory and then Leon and I need to talk." "You got it boss." 

Some kids in high school can make an impact along with their name written in stone, others are looked down upon and are forgotten in the shadows. 
His high school experience has been hell for Luke Howard. Since the first day at Lincoln High, he’s been bullied nonstop, rejected by 3 girls, been publicly embarrassed in front of the school, and his best friend since the 4th grade ditched him. "Avery we're going home," Alex demanded.

"Okay the two of you can have fun at home," I said as I went to go back inside.

"No you're coming too," Alex said as he grabbed my arm.

He grabbed onto my arm with the stitches and as a reflects I turned around and maneuvered out of his grip. I irritated my stitches, but I didn't care. In a few seconds, I had him by the neck showing him I could easily kill him.

He glared down at me and I glared up at him and my brother broke the silence and said, "Avery let go of him. And Alex I'm taking you home. Leave her alone. And we are going to talk in the car."

I let go and took a step back. I was breathing hard. It took everything in my mind to stop my natural instincts and squeeze his neck. My brother knew that, so he didn't even look in my direction.

Alex sent me a sharp glare, and he followed my brother to his car. My brother watched Alex get in the car, then he brought me my overnight bag. He clearly packed it because I never leave the house and I never really plan to.

He patted me on the head, then he headed to his car and drove away. I didn't want to walk inside without asking, so I knocked on the door. It was probably strange for me to do so, but of course, I didn't care.

The door opened not leaving a second to spare. I was eminently taken into someone's arms. I looked up confused as Hunter was just hugging me. tears brimmed my eyes, but I wasn't going to let them fall again today. Once was enough.

"Are you okay little one," he said as he put his face in my hair.

I hugged him back and said, "yes. Can I come inside now it's cold."

It feels good some times to feel that someone besides family cares for you. This guy has known me for only like an hour, and he is already so nice to me. his brother has known me for six hours and has brought me here. It feels like I've known these guys all my life.

Everything seemed to be moving so quickly with them. I don't know why they are treating me so nicely. It's nice but strange.

He let go of me and I walked inside. The other two were trying to not act suspicious. I acted as if I didn't know they were listening in on my conversation. Honestly, it was obvious just by the way they were acting.

I sat on the couch and started to go through my bag. Of course. My brother just gave me one of his t-shirts and hoodies, a pair of my jeans, undergarments, a small stuffed toy, and a bunch of snacks. You could tell he knew me well by the amount of food I had in my bag.

"Why do you have so much food," Aragon said as he leaned over my shoulder.

"No clue," I said as I opened up these chocolate cake looking things and started to eat some.

Hunter walked over and sat beside me and grabbed something from my bag and Aragon followed pursuit and did the same thing. I didn't hit them like I really wanted to, but instead, I just ate another one. The girl tried to get one from my bag I sent her a glare. She quickly grabbed one and stuck out her tongue at me.

Hunter looked at the rest of us and said, "you want to watch a movie?"

Aragon and I yelled like children and said, "yes!"

"No," the girl said as she stared blankly at me.

Hunter looked at the girl and asked, "why?"

"Because I want to spend time with you in your home," she said with a flirty tone.

"Gross," Aragon and I said in together.

Aragon and I started to die laughing. Showing the immature selves of us. Hunter gave his brother a weird look, then he gave me an even weirder look. I smiled at him as I got up from the couch.

My face turned serious as I said to Hunter, "do you have any popcorn?"

"Yes," he replied looking at me to see what I was going to do.

I fist-bumped the air and I took off running into the kitchen. I started to look through cabinets until I found the holy jackpot. I cooked three packages of popcorn. No, I didn't put it in a bowl the bag is good enough.

Once all the bags were popped I rushed into the room and gave the girl her own bag, the brothers have to share a bad, and I got a bag to my self. But the girl was "watching her weight" so she gave her bag to Hunter.

"Hey Avery you seem a bit chubby maybe you should go on a diet," she said glaring at me.

"I'm proud of this fat," I said as I patted my stomach.

She glared at me, but I ignored her and talked to the boys about what to watch. Before we started the movie we were going to watch I finished my popcorn, so I started to steal some from them. They ignored it, but you could tell they thought it was entertaining. I wasn't doing it to be entertaining I just really like microwave popcorn.

When the movie started the lights were off and the blinds were closed. Hunter wants to be girlfriend moved, so she was now sitting in his lap. She was trying to make out with him, but he was trying to watch the movie and shove his face full of popcorn before I ate it all.

She gave up after a bit and left. She seemed pissed, but Hunter didn't seem to care. I laid my head on Aragon's shoulder and watched the movie. For goodness' sake, that boy is a comfortable pillow. Comfortable enough that I fell asleep.

I woke up clearly late at night since the TV was off. I sat up a bit and I looked around to see that Hunter was asleep on the floor. I was laying down, my head on top of Aragon's lap. He was reading, and he looked up and smiled at me when he noticed that I was awake.

"Good late-night sleepyhead," he said as he put down his book.

I looked around and I saw that the clock read 11:45 pm. the table lamp was turned on low, so he could read. Everything seemed homier to it for some reason too. I had a soft blanket covering me along with a pillow on top of Aragon's lap. This was heaven.

"Am I in heaven," I said jokingly as I laid back down and I looked up into his eyes.

A smile grew on his lips and traveled to his eyes. He started to play with my hair, and we sat in silence for a moment. He looked like he was in deep thought, so I didn't bother him.

"Sadly no, but this would be nice heaven," he said as he came out of his deep thought.

"It took you that... long… To come up with an… Answer to… That," I said as I laughed.

His face turned a cute red and I smiled at him. Something came over me and I booed him on the nose. He looked crossed eyed for a second, then he looked taken back. Then after a second he just gave me a cute smile.

I played with his fingers as he played with my hair. It was relaxing. We sat in complete silence, but neither of us felt the need to break it.

After ten or so minutes I slowly started to dose off as I was holding his hand. He turned off the light, picked me up and kicked his brother. His brother stood up and made his way to his room. And while Aragon was taking me somewhere I fell asleep.

Avery is a girl who everyone is scared of for no reason. she just happens to be clumsy and gets hurt a bunch, so people think she has been in fights. everything in her life changes when problems start to occur. a bunch of them surrounding the boys she gets to newly meet. both have brothers. Aragon has an older brother who is nothing but trouble. Ashton has a little brother who is well behaved. they are both kids she could get along with, but she can only be around one. she doesn't know why, but the two don't get along at all.

Madeline's POV

Hunter didn't let go of my hand until we reached his car. He opened the passenger's seat for me, and he also helps me fastened my seatbelt. I can feel that my fiance is not in the mood; well, Hunter always looks intimidating and seldom smiles. I am afraid to talk, and then before he starts the car, I couldn't believe he looked at me and smiled.

"Where do you want to eat, Madeline?" He asked, and I couldn't stop myself from feeling so excited, and I turned my head and looked at his sister.

"Where do you want to eat, Lily?" I asked, and I almost laugh when I see how much her eyes turned so big.

"Thank you, Madeline; would it be alright if we will eat some burgers and fries?" She asked with sparkling eyes, and I know how much she craves this kind of food because they always eat based on their mother's taste. And I looked at her brother, and I can see the wide grin on Hunter's face.

"Of course, sweetheart, tonight we will eat your favorite food," Hunter said as he looked at Lily's reflection in his rearview mirror. And I can't help myself from smiling, and I can tell Lily is very excited to tour the city.

"Can we watch a movie, Hunter?" Lily asked, and when I looked at him, Hunter is nodding his head.

"Sure, we will do whatever you want tonight, Lily." He said, and I felt so happy that I would spend time with the people I care about, and Lily was ecstatic as we ate our dinner, and I felt so conscious every time I caught Hunter staring at me. I know he will be my husband soon, but I am not still used to his intense stare, and it makes me feel so hot all over my body. And I can't stop thinking about the sweet moments I shared with him, and I am excited to be alone with him again.

We hit the cinema, and I feel so happy when Lily holds my hand as we wait for Hunter as he lined up to buy tickets for the animation that we are going to watch, and of course, it was Lily's choice.

"Madeline, I am so happy tonight, and I felt guilty because my mom hurt you again," Lily said as he looked up at me.

"Don't worry about it, Lily. Your brother defended me, so I felt okay now. But you know what, Lily? I don't want your mom and Hunter to have a gap because of me, and I am still hoping that your mom will like me someday." I replied.

I felt so happy that Hunter decided to take us out, and I know he was disappointed with his mom, and I hate that they have some misunderstanding because of me. But Leticia's words pierced into my heart, and I still wish that a time will come that Hunter's mom will accept me to be part of their family.

By the time we get inside the theater, Hunter holds my hand, and I can feel the sparks that ignite my entire frame, and I can't stop myself from grinning from ear to ear, and I am just glad he can't see my face because of the darkness inside the cinema. I am seated in between Lily and Hunter while Lisa settled herself next to Lily.

"Are you having fun, Maddie?" Hunter whispered in my ear, and it made me feel goosebumps all over my body. I noticed he was looking at my face most of the time while we were watching the show. I felt shy when I can't control myself and laughed with all my heart content together with Lily and Gina, the movie was so funny, and even though Hunter was sitting beside me, I can't stop myself from laughing out loud. And I think only Hunter didn't enjoy the show because I haven't heard him laugh even once.

Is he for real? Or maybe it was because he was looking at my face the entire time, and I can't control myself from blushing every time our eyes meet. It has been a long time that I watched a movie together with Gina. There are a lot of good movies that I missed because I am so busy working my different part-time jobs.

"Yes, Hunter, and I am sorry if I laughed loudly, this is the first time I have fun after a long time, and I want to say thank you," I said and turn my head to him. I suddenly felt I am out of breath when I realized his face is so near me, and I thought he would kiss me, and my anticipation was killing me, and I felt a little frustrated when he moves away from me, then he looked at me in the eyes. 

"I love it that you are having fun with my sister, I felt guilty because for how many time I promised to watch a movie with her, but due to my busy schedule, always had no time to accompany my sister." He said, and I can feel how he cares for Lily.

"And now hearing my sister laughed with you and Gina warmed my heart." He added.

"Why aren't you laughing with us?" I asked, and he smiled at me, and it was the kind of smile that will make my heart beating so fast like I was running.

"Well, I always miss the fun part because I can't stop staring at your beautiful face, Madeline, and I can't wait to be alone with you." He said, and I think I am going to melt. I didn't expect Hunter to act this way, but I am enjoying every moment of it, and I love the way he teases me right now that I am seated beside his sister. I don't know how to react, and I want to flirt back with him, but I felt uneasy because Lily is sitting beside me even though I know she wants to see Hunter and me being so in love with each other. I only smile sweetly at him because I don't know what to say to him, and I return my gaze on the screen. I can no longer concentrate on the movie because Hunter held and squeezed my hand, and I am so excited to be alone with him. 

Lily was talking to us the entire ride in going back to the Divension mansion. And I can tell Hunter was fascinated by his sister, and I felt so glad that the house is so quiet by the time we arrived. Even though I am so worried about Hunter's parents and his two other siblings, I feel better because now that Hunter knew that they mistreated me, I hope there would be some changes in their treatment. Gina said her goodbyes to us, and I know she has so many things to tell me, but she can't talk to me yet because of Lily and Hunter's presence.

"Goodnight, Hunter, and thank you so much for tonight; I had fun." Lily said, and she hugs her brother, and he kissed his sister on her forehead. 

"You are welcome, Lily." He replied.

"Good night, Maddie, and see you tomorrow." Lily said to me, and she embraced my waist tightly, and I encircled my arms on her back.

"Good night, Lily." I said, and I kissed her cheek, and then she walks away from us. Hunter was silent, but he put his arm around my shoulders as we walk to my bedroom, and I can't stop myself from feeling so uneasy.

"I will go back later, Madeline. I need to go to my room first." He said, and my heart shouted with joy.

"Okay, " I replied in more than a whisper because I can hear the loud beating of my heart.

"See you later, my sweet, Madeline." He declared, and he left me in front of my door, and I get inside my room with trembling knees because I felt so exhilarated to be sleeping beside Hunter again. I quickly take a bath, and I hate myself that I try to look for the sexiest nightgown I can find in my closet. I know I should not feel embarrassed because I am his fiancee, but I can't control the emotion I felt towards Hunter. 

Hunter didn't knock on my door, but instead, he went straight into my room, and I swallowed my saliva when I raised my head and looked at his toned body. He was wearing a sleeveless top and sleep shorts. I was already lying on my bed, and he lay beside me immediately. And when Hunter pulled me closer to his muscular body, I closed my eyes because I want to savor this moment. Having him so close to me makes me feel so at peace.

"Madeline, I don't know how to apologize to you. I am sorry for my parents and siblings, and now that I know the truth about their treatment towards you, rest assured nothing like that will happen ever again. I will be your husband in less than two weeks, and I should be your protector, Maddie. Don't worry, and I will make sure no one can hurt and harm you ever again." He said, and I can feel his steady heartbeat as she put my head on his chest.

"But I am so proud of you because you are a strong woman, I hate myself that I didn't tell them never to hurt you, but they are my family. I expect them to treat you nicely, and I know they want Kaye to be my wife, but I only want you, and I hope they will respect my decision as well." He added, and I am speechless because I felt so overwhelmed with too much happiness.


"Be patient, Madeline; after our wedding, I will take you out of here. I don't care if my father will get angry unless they treat you fairly, whether I am present or I am not in the house. I should have known they were only acting nice towards you every time I am around." He said, and he pressed his hard muscles on my body, and I can feel the electricity that travels my entire frame, and this time I can say I am no longer afraid to face his whole family again, knowing he will be there to protect me.


Madeline ”Maddie” Brownwood is a nineteen-year-old college student and lives an ordinary life with her aunt. Her mother was dead, and her father was unknown to her until one day, she found herself in confusion when she arrived at her aunt’s house surrounded by gentlemen with black suits. You should come with them so that we will be all happy, and you will have a better life.” Her aunt said.

Maddie was left no choice, and go to the Divenson mansion where she meets her future in-laws, Mr. Divenson’s parents were super strict and showed to her face she doesn’t belong to their family, while her future brother-in-law always looks at her with lust that made her scared every time they cross paths, and his other sister loathes her. And only a twelve-year-old girl, his younger sister, loves and adores her, and carried out her stay at the mansion bearable.

The moment she meets Hunter, she falls in love with him. He is so sweet with her every time a member of his family is around, but he is so different when they are alone, and his actions sometimes contradict his words, but his remarks haunted her in her dreams most of the nights.

“We are only married on the paper since I don’t have time for love, business success is the only thing that makes me happy, and I can’t love someone like you. Don’t expect if something happens to us in bed; I will love you. I only need an heir of my empire.” He said coldly that made her entire body shivers, and she hated herself for falling in love with her husband every day, until one day she realized she couldn’t take it anymore.

Maddie asked Hunter for a divorce in a stern tone, and it made Hunter’s entire body turned cold. This is the first time his wife appeal to talk with him, and he couldn’t believe she was asking for a divorce. Her words drove him understood what a fool he had been, and now, all he can see in her beautiful eyes are hatred. He realized he couldn’t let her go because he loves his wife with all his heart. 

Can Hunter win back his wife’s affection? 

Is Maddie’s love for Hunter totally gone? Or it was still there and she is just trying to forget and move on? Can she give her husband another chance?

Crystal stares at herself in the mirror one last time, admiring her lazy Sunday outfit before silently making her way out her room to meet Jackie down stairs. The dark skinned girl had already set up the movie she wanted them to watch. Munching on the pop corn on her lap just as the younger girl walked down the stairs. 

"Oh heeyy, what took you so long?" Jackie asks with a grin watching as the brunette takes a seat next to her. She grabs a pillow hugging it tight staring at the paused movie on the screen. 

"I literally just woke up right before you arrived. So what are we watching?" Crystal asks curiously eyeing the movie which was now playing. 

"It's called 'Not Cinderella's type'. I can't believe you haven't watched this.." the twenty two year old dark girl laughs, "you see, where Cinderella falls in love with the prince, this girl actually falls in love with someone else instead of him. Kind of hilarious to be honest" Jackes shrugs stuffing her mouth full with a handful of popcorn again. 

Crystal tilts her head pouting her lips as she stared at the movie. Romance. Of course it had to be romance. Not that she had anything against it but they were just so predictable most of the time. 

"Sakura and I have watched this movies several times already. I can't even count how many" Jackie exclaims once again making the blue eyed girl giggle, "we even forced Hunter to watch it with us one time". 

"Really? Poor guy. I can imagine how torturing it was for him" Crystal laughs reaching over for some of the pop corn in Jackie's lap. 

"Yeah. It was..." Jackie says trailing off before she hesitantly looks at Crystal, "speaking of Hunter. How are things going on here with him?" She suddenly asks and Crystal couldn't help but start choking on her popcorn. She hits her chest several times regaining control once more before glancing at Jackie with wide blue eyes. Jackie on the other hand had a blank face. Any sign of humor from moments ago completely gone. 

"Wh...what?" Crystal asks stupidly making Jackie stare at her with narrowed brown eyes. 

"Oh come on. You don't fool me. I know there's something going on between the two of you. I'm not as oblivious as Sakura" Jackie says with a shrug, putting a single popcorn into her mouth. "Now tell me" 

"I don't know what you're talking about" 

"Stop acting clueless Crystal you're just making everything worse!" Jackie suddenly snaps making the younger girl shrink back. Seeing her discomfort, Jackie sighs pushing her hair back. 

"Look.. I'm sorry I yelled at you but to be honest I'm kind of... Worried about you... And Sakura too" Jackie starts licking her dry lips, "ever since the first time Sakura introduced me to Hunter, I couldn't help but feel the strong negative aura he radiated. The the dark and sinister energy he carries himself with. Sakura is too blinded by love to notice but I know that Hunter does not love her as much as she loves him" she looks from her pop corn up to meet Crystal's eyes. 

"You however, I've seen the way he's looked at you since day one. I can tell he's made a move on you too since that day at the club from the way you acted with him. You looked scared and uncomfortable. And that just makes me suspect him more" Jackie suddenly leans in close making Crystal lean back a little when she gets a little to close but Jackie stops her by grasping onto the back of Crystal's neck. 

"I don't know if you know this. And I'm not going to tell you who told me. But I heard that Hunter... Isn't.. normal" Jackie whispers in Crystal's ear who raises her brows. 

'you don't say' Crystal is tempted to say but decides against it. 

"They say he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Satan himself. He's not in a gang it anything, but they say he's the most dangerous and sinister person in the underworld. But most terrifyingly, they say he's a psychopath" Crystal's already wide eyes widen even more at the information as Jackie continues, "Hunter has his eyes set for you. And from the info I've gathered, he'd stop at nothing to get what he wants. Hunter wants you. He's taking a liking to you and that's why I want to warn you in time because I can tell he's already manipulated you into liking him too". Jackie pulls back looking Crystal in the eyes now. 

"Be careful Crystal. Hunter is dangerous. He's a monster. And what makes everything worse is the fact that he always gets away with everything because he has men in the police and even the others in the police department are afraid of him and what he's capable of.... I'd say you should go back to New York as soon as possible. Or even come home with me today. But we don't want to provoke him enough to harm you... But be careful" Jackie whispers in a warning tone staring between Crystal's wide glassy eyes. 

"Hunter is the devil. And you're the unfortunate little damsel that's wondered into his arms. And also from the looks of it, he's not willing to let you go"

It's been about an hour since Jackie had left. After watching the Cinderella movie and several other ones, Jackie decided it was time for her to leave. Whispering one last warning in Crystal's ear before she left. 

"Call me if something goes wrong" Jackie had said. Patting Crystal lightly on the head before leaving. 

Crystal was beyond shaken at the moment. Her hands were literally shaking and she could feel her heart thumping so hard in her chest she was scared it would break her rib cage. 

What had she done in her past life to deserve this? Or did the Universe really just hate her? 

Crystal still had unanswered questions though. Like why the hell he had a picture of her mom in his drawer and also why he'd scribbled off the face of his dad. 

Those pills too, she'd figured it had something to do with his "condition". But what type? There were several types of mental illness. So which one did Hunter have? 

That day when he'd snuck into her room muttering under his breath over and over again that she should make them go away. Did that have to do with his illness too? Was he delusional? Hallucination? 

Crystal wasn't sure. 

She thinks back to the pills, remembering the name on the packet. Risperdal.... Yeah that was it. 

Grabbing her phone, she clicks on her browser immediately searching for what the medicine was for. The results appear and her blue eyes read over each word carefully. Brows raising and blue orbs widening. 

Used to treat Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and Autism... 

Schizophrenia... So that's what he meant by 'them'. 

She'd heard of such a thing before but didn't know much about it. All she knew was that the patient tends to hear several voices in his head. Voices that she guessed was what prompted Hunter that night to sneak into her room so she could get them to "go away". 

There were also several times she'd caught him talking to himself. Sometimes as if having a light conversation. And sometimes as if arguing. She always thought maybe he was on the phone and maybe wearing air pods. His hair was long so it wouldn't be a surprise if the strands covered them. But now she knew. Now she understood. 

Hunter was suffering from one of the most terrifying mental illness and she couldn't help but feel her heart tug a little at the thought. 

She also couldn't help but wonder, thinking over at this new information. What was she to do now? 

Was she supposed to ignore it? Or was she supposed to talk to him about it?

"Kakain na!" I heard Cally's voice from downstairs. I paused the movie that I was watching saka tinanggal yung earphones na suot ko. Should I eat with them? O tatapusin ko yung movie? Argh! Ang ganda na sana eh, nasa thrilling part na ako. Kakain? O hindi? Kakain o hindi? I need to choose!

I played back the movie and sighed in contentment. I have decided, manonood ako. Kahit ilang beses ko na itong nakita ay hindi talaga ako mabobored na panoorin ito. Mamaya nalang ako kakain. Hehehe. Someone knocked on my door kaya tinaggal ko kaagad yung earphones and pressed pause. Who is it now? Who?!

"Sino yan?" I asked out.

"It's me, Naeri." Sagot ng taong nasa labas ng kwarto ko.

"Ah, pasok ka." I told her. The door opened and pumasok si Naeri. She was already in her pajamas and her curly hair was in a bun. Oh? Ready to sleep na siya. Akala ko ba kakain na?

"Anong ginagawa mo?" Umupo si Naeri sa stool na nasa gilid ng kama ko.

"Nanonood." Sagot ko sakaniya.

"Ng?" Naeri leaned her head on the side a bit.

"Movie." I grinned.

"Oh. Like the ones on tv?" Tanong niya at tumango ako.

"Yeah. Like the ones on TV." Sagot ko.

"Pwedeng makinood?" She asked me.

"Sure." Tinanggal ko nalang yung earphones at nilakasan ang volume ng laptop.

"Anong tawag dito?" Naeri pointed my laptop.

"Ah, that's a laptop. It's a really famous gadget back in my world." Sagot ko sakanya. Tumango si Naeri at mukhang may alam na siya kung ano ang Laptop. Ah, how to be like her na matalino? I definitely need that kind of skill. Tahimik lang kaming nanonood nang bumukas ulit ang pinto ng kwarto ko kaya I paused the movie.

"Hunter?" Sabay naming sabi ni Naeri.

"Hi, hehe." Nahihiyang bati ni Hunter sa amin. He was also on his pajamas already.

"Naparito ka?" I asked Hunter.

"Kakain na raw kasi" He scratched the back of his head. I think he feels awkward dahil pumasok siya sa kwarto ko. Is it his first time barging in a girl's room? Hahahah.

"Ah." Sagot ko sakaniya.

"Anong ginagawa niyo?" Tanong ni Hunter at sumandal sa door frame ng pinto.

"Nanonood ng movie." Naeri answered him.

"Movie?" Tumaas ang kilay ni Hunter dahil sa pagtataka.

"A recording of moving images that tells a story and that people watch on a screen or television." Naeri explained at inayos yung salamin niya. What?

"A-Ah yun pala yun? Hehe." Hunter awkwardly laughed.

"Hahaha! Tara na nga sa baba." I laughed at the both of them and closed my laptop.  Lumabas na kaming tatlo at bumaba na. Nang nakababa na kaming tatlo ay naabutan namin silang lahat na nagkagulo sa living room like the usual. Nakita nila kami at nagpasyang pumunta na sa dining hall. Nakalabas na kami sa dorm nang nagsalita si Diana.

"Guys, it's Maydoom." Diana pointed the group of students na nasa unahan namin.

"Hala oo nga!"

"Oh men."

"Wews."

"Patay sila." Carter and Sean both said at the same and both cracked their fists. Naka pokus lang ang mga mata nilang nanlilisik sa Maydoom. I rolled my eyes. Hindi naman nila kailangang matakot sakanila at lalong hindi nila kailangan na takutin sila. I'm sure they learned their lessons at hindi na gagawin ang pambubully nila.

Kung noon ay haharangan muna kami ng ilang estudyante mula sa Maydoom, ngayon ay diretso nalang kaming papasok ng dining hall. Funny how everything changes so suddenly. As usual, punong puno ng pagkain ang table namin at maliit lang ang kinuha ko. Hindi naman kasi ako kagaya ng boys na malaki ang kinakain. Nasanay kasi ako na maliit lang ang kinakain back when I was in Dewshed.

"Miyo you're spacing out. Ayos ka lang ba?" Mary suddenly asked me.

"Oo naman." I smiled at her. The whole meal consisted of teasing from Cally and Carter as usual, sometimes it was joined by Uriel and Galia or Sean. I would choke my food whenever they would make a joke. Nakakatawa kasi.

From the corner of my eye, Some of the students were eyeing us and I don't even know why. Dahil ba kami ang pinaka tahimik? Note the sarcasm there. I noticed na may ilang estudyante ang wala sa table ng Maydoom. If I am not mistaken ay kulang ata sila ng…tatlo? Saan kaya sila? Teka, bakit ba ako nangingialam? I shouldn't be meddling with their business.

"Miyo." I flinched when someone touched my shoulders. Cally was looking at me worriedly. Ngumiti ako sakanya and told her na ayos lang ako at wala siyang dapat na ikaalala. Ganun ba ako ka preoccupied at napansin nila na hindi ako okay? 

Nang natapos na kaming kumain lahat ay bumalik na kami ng dorm. Maingay silang lahat habang ako ay tahimik lang na nagmamasid sa paligid. I don't like the atmosphere right now. It's very uncanny.

Pakiramdam ko kasi may nakatingin sakin—No, sa aming lahat. Tapos kapag lilingon ako ay wala naman akong nakikita sa likod ko. But I swear, I could feel it's stare burning wholes on my back. Why would it stare at us? Wala namang clown dito samin or nakahubad na elepante habang naglalakad.

Biglang humangin at humalik sa balat ko ang malamig na hangin ng gabi. Napayakap ako sa sarili ko dahil sa lamig. Bakit lumalamig ata yung hangin? Hindi naman ito ganun kalamig kahapon ah. The chilly air tonight is giving me goosebumps. Tumingin ako sa buwan at nakita ko na may mga bituin kaya napaisip ulit ako. May mga bituin naman, so hindi uulan ngayon. Pero bakit ang lamig ng hangin? Sanay na ako sa lamig ngunit kakaiba ang lamig ng hangin ngayon.

Sa pangalawang pagkakataon ay bumugso ulit ang malamig na hangin at biglang nagsingtayuan ang mga balahibo ko. I hugged myself tight at lumingon lingon sa palagid. There's definitely something wrong with the atmosphere tonight.

Maingat akong naglalakad habang nakasunod parin sa mga kaklase ko. I tried to observe the atmosphere more closely kasi hindi talaga ako mapalagay. May nakatingin talaga sa amin at sigurado ako dun. Pero baka pagod ko lang ito. Tama, pagod lang siguro to dahil sa training namin but kung pagod ako, dapat inaantok na ako. Hindi yung ganito, yung parang pakiramdam mo may nakatingin sakin pero wala naman talaga.

"I see you noticed it too."

"Sean!" Madiin kong pagkakasabi sa pangalan ng taong biglang bumulong sa tenga ko mula sa likod. Napahigpit ang hawak ko sa dibdib ko at huminga ng malalim. Nagulat ako dun ah.

"Sorry." He apologized and scratched the back of his head.

"Anong sinabi mo kanina?" Bulong ko sakaniya.

"Mukhang napansin mo rin na may kakaiba sa paligid." Sean's voice was cautious and low. He seems to notice what I noticed too.

"Hindi ako mapalagay." Sabi ko sakanya at napayakap ulit sa sarili ko.

"Ako rin. Kanina ko pa naririnig itong mga kaluskos mula sa malayo." Sabi ni Sean and I raises a brow. Nakarinig siya ng mga kalukos?

"I have enhanced vision and hearing, Miyo. Though wala akong nakita but I could hear these strange noises." Sean explained. Ah, kaya pala.

"Wala ka bang naririnig na mga salita? Like mga salita talaga." I asked at umiling siya sa tanong ko.

"Only footsteps and whispers that I can't comprehend." At tumingin si Sean sa likod niya.

"Do you feel the chills from the…stare? I don't know if it's really staring but I could say that it is staring. Sorry, magulo ba?" Bulong ko kay Sean.

"Don't worry. I completely understood what you are trying to say. Masasabi ko na nakatingin talaga ito sa atin." Sabi ni Sean at muling tumingin sa likod niya, "Something's definitely wrong here." Bulong niya.

The rest of my classmates seems to be unbothered by the peculiar feeling that Sean and I are feeling right now. My classmates were just being themselves—teasing and having fun. Talking and laughing like nothing seems to be bothering them. While me and Sean are having a problem determining what's going on. It's so strange and unusual, really.

"Miyo! Sean!" Tawag ni Diana samin. She waved her hand for us to come kaya parehas kaming tumango ni Sean.

"We're coming!" We both responded. Nauna akong naglakad pero tinawag ako ni Sean.

"We both need to figure this out without our friends knowing." Sean whispered and looked at our friends. Tumigil ako dahil sa sinabi ni Sean. Why? Why is he going to keep this from our friends?

"They need to know, Sean." I told him. Our friends need to know. Baka sakaling may magagawa din sila tungkol dito.

"Tayo pa lang ang nakapansin Miyo. We need to observe more. I don't like this peculiar feeling and I know so do you." Sean was sounding impatient.

"Pero—"

"Kung sasabihin natin sakanila? Tingin mo maniniwala sila? Miyo sasabihin lang nila satin na guni guni lang natin to." Sean's eyebrows collided in frustration. I guess we can't tell our friends about it then.


"Then we really need to figure this out by ourselves then." Pinal kong sabi. 

"Figure out what?"

Napatalon ako dahil sa gulat at pati rin si Sean. Nakatayo sa likod namin ni Sean si Mary. She had this confused look on her face. I can't actually describe it but confusion is one of the words to describe Mary's face right now. What is she doing here? Akala ko ba kasama siya nila Jared? Nakita ko pa nga silang nag uusap kanina. Oh god, this is getting creepy.

"What are you going to figure out? Sean? Miyo?" Tanong ulit ni Mary sa amin.

"W-Wala." Nauutal si Sean at umiwas ng tingin kay Mary.

"We're actually figuring out how to prank Carter." Mabilis kong sabi. Phew, that reason came out well.

"Ah." Seems like napaniwala naman namin siya.

Sean muttered a silent 'thank you' to me at tumango ako sakanya then naisip ko ulit si Mary. Kanina pa kaya siya sa likod namin? Kanina pa kaya siya nakikinig sa usapan namin? Sana hindi kasi hindi ko alam kung paano ko maipapaliwanag kay Mary ang tungkol sa nararamdaman ko ngayong gabi.

"Una na ako sa loob ah." Paalam ni Mary sa amin.

"Sige." Sean gave her a wave.

"Good night Mary." I called out.

"Good night guys. Sunod kayo ah." Tumango kaming dalawa ni Sean kay Mary.

Binuksan na ni Mary ang front door ng dorm. Bago siya makapasok sa loob ay tumigil siya sa pinto. She looked from her shoulders at nagsalita.

"You shouldn't stay out late. We don't know who's lurking in the shadows." At tuluyan ng pumasok si Mary sa loob ng dorm.

The way Mary spoke immediately made me shiver. Her voice was low and guarded. Parang nag-iingat si Mary sa pagbitaw ng bawat salita na lumalabas mula sa bibig niya.

What does Mary mean by who's lurking in the shadows? Does she know who's out there? How did she know that it was a 'who' and not a 'what'? How did she know that it could be a person and not some thing or an animal? I'm really lost right now.

Nagkatinginan kaming dalawa ni Sean bago tuluyang nagdesisyon na pumasok ng dorm. Seriously, this is bugging me big time.

"Oh please, you only enjoyed it because something blew up every five minutes!" Space told Luis and Hunter.
 
"Well yeah because explosions are awesome!" Hunter retorted.
 
"Not to me! My eardrums are sensitive," Spencer whined.
 
Andrew and Hunter both rolled their eyes in unison, "shut up Spencer."
 
The eight of us had met after school, deciding to watch a movie to celebrate since we had a half day. So, after being released we piled into Luis' RV like rabid animals craving popcorn and candy and drove off to the theater. By the time it was over, we were satisfied and stuffed full of popcorn and candy.
 
However, the end of the movie struck me hard. It ended with the people of the planet setting off a device that killed everyone, including themselves. When I saw that scene, I thought back to the night before, and what that post had said. And since then, I hadn't stopped thinking about it.
 
"Was it the truth, or a lie?" I asked myself within my subconsciousness.
 
"You good Ani?"
 
I turned my head, seeing Space walking next to me with a smile. She poked my cheek, trying to get my attention.
 
"Yeah I'm fine. Just tired, thinking about the movie," I said to her.
 
"You didn't enjoy it?" she asked.
 
I shook my head, "no no it was good. I liked it… it's just…"
 
"Awwww are you scared of the itty-bitty dark web article?" Space teased, smirking at my irritated tone.
 
"Yeah a bit," I admitted, "it's just kinda out of nowhere and it sounds so absurd. It's supposedly a reliable source... but I just couldn't ever believe something like that would happen. I mean, the end of the world? And by a nuclear attack? I always thought we'd all go out by a meteor or something."
 
"It's okay," she said as she patted me on the shoulder, "nothing is gonna happen."
 
I nodded before turning to look at Luis, who was walking beside Andrew and Hunter. He wore a dark grey hoodie and a grey flat-billed cap, giving off a sort of gangster look. And while he wasn't part of any gang, he was part of our school's underground weed business. From what I've heard, he's basically running it. 
 
"Hey Hamster, are we gonna stop for food?" I asked, turning to look at the burly man known as Luis.
 
He shot me a glare, "how long is it gonna take to get it through your thick skull!? My name is Luis, not Hamster! Why do you even call me that!?"
 
Hunter glanced at Luis, scanning him up and down, "do you really want an answer to that?"
 
"Screw you," Luis told him, crossing his arms.
 
Hunter scoffed, smirking, "you wish."
 
"Alright Luis," I said, "what's the plan? Stop for a quick bite?"
    
"We can stop at Jerry's if you want on the way home," he suggested.
 
Andrew shook his head, "too much popcorn. Let's just sit in the RV and wait a bit before we eat."
 
We all agreed on that, but as we walked through the parking lot, Maddie stopped and looked back, "oh shoot I almost forgot. My mom texted me a few hours ago and told me to pick up my little sister. She went to the movies with a friend from school and she wanted me to get her and take her home with me."
 
"Seriously? You're bringing a kid along?" Andrew asked, a bit bummed out.
 
"While normally I would not like to indulge in illegal hijinks that are normally inappropriate for a kid like Hunter would, I have to agree with him on that statement," Quinn said to me.
 
Maddie crossed her arms, "you guys Julia's not that bad! Just don't start smoking anything in front of her!"
 
"Alright go get her, we'll meet up with you out here," Hunter told her. She smiled and nodded, running back over to the theater.
 
Luis pointed ahead, "alright the RV is parked just around the corner. We can sit around there or maybe go grab something to eat."
 
The seven of us walked through the parking lot, eventually finding the RV all the way in the back of the parking lot. Spencer groaned, trudging his feet along the concrete. 
 
"Ugh," he dragged out the word for a moment, "why'd you have to park all the way back here?"
 
"Because puta, I didn't wanna deal with the police today. Damn racists," Luis said in an annoyed tone.
 
His RV was special, being much bigger than most RVs. It had a pretty big sunroof on top so you could slip in and out, and a ladder on the side to climb up. Overall it was kinda dirty on the outside, but that was mainly because it's owner never really took the time to wash it or anything.
  
To us, the RV was a banged-up clump of sheet metal, tires and an old flat screen television he dragged out of a dumpster, But to him, it was a home. He received it from his father years ago before his family hightailed it to Mexico and left him on its own, and ever since he's treasured it like his birthright.
 
"So, Hamster, did you clean this place up like I told you?" Space asked as we approached the RV.
 
He nodded before opening the door, "yep! All the trash is... mostly gone."
 
When the door swung open, we all stepped back, Space covering her mouth as all coughed over the strong stench of weed and cigarette smoke. While the floor seemed clean, the air wasn't. The familiar scent of weed lingered within the inside of the RV, and the only one able to stand it besides Luis was Hunter.
 
"Jeez, it's just a little bit of weed, calm your watermelons," Hunter said before he climbed into the RV, Luis following.
 
"It smells horrible in here! Luis before we go home, you're buying an air freshener," Space shouted at him as she climbed in.
 
He groaned and sat down, "it'll go away soon, just leave the door open."
 
One by one we all climbed in, taking our seats in the RV. It was still pretty messy, but it was an improvement from before. He had three seats in the back, each one able to fit maybe three people, and under the seats were small footlockers where you could store things. I was almost sure the footlocker under where I was sitting had either a bag of weed or a firearm. 
 
There was also a small bathroom and a closet where you could store things like food or supplies, which took up the middle section of the RV. In the front were the passenger and driver seats, along with a booth and a small kitchen counter with a sink, the booth able to seat four people. Lying beside the booth was a toolbox, a tackle box, some machetes, and my crossbow I had brought on our last hunting excursion.
 
Luis took up one seat, laying down to keep it for himself. Quinn sat on another seat, Andrew walking past him towards the front. He was on his phone while listening to music and was generally ignoring us all now. Hunter sat down beside Quinn and I took the third seat, Space taking the spot beside me. Usually she sat on the floor to make room for someone else but was now deciding to sit up here next to me. Spencer sat on the floor, due to the lack of seats. He didn't mind though and pulled a small blue game device out of his hoodie he began mindlessly playing.
 
I knelt down, picking up my crossbow and making sure it was in tip top shape. Luis wasn't the best at keeping things clean and organized, but luckily all the bolts were just where I left them.
 
"Alright so what do you guys wanna watch?" asked Luis as he pulled out the TV remote, "scary movies? Cartel movies? Maybe that one new movie with the hooker and the-"
 
"Put on something appropriate for a kid okay? As much as I'd love to watch a guy get stabbed to death while getting a lap dance, I don't wanna make Maddie upset by having her little sis walk in on a sex scene," Hunter told him.
 
He groaned and pressed one of the buttons on the remote, causing the TV to switch onto a kid's cartoon. However, almost immediately after the TV switched on, Andrew pulled out a deck of cards.
 
"Anyone wanna bet?" he asked.
 
Hunter and Luis both raised their hands, opening their wallets as Andrew slid a milk crate between the three and placed down an old rag to cover the holes. He passed out the cards to everyone before they began a game of War, and I was left to spectate.
 
A knock came on the side of the door, and we all turned to see Maddie walk up, a young girl behind her. She had long brown hair that ran past her shoulders, pale skin just like her sister, and plain brown eyes. She was staring through the doorway at Hamster, who was trying to stuff a plastic bag in between the seat and the wall. When he saw her he froze, moving his hands away.
 
"Oh sorry, I thought you were a cop," he said. in his Hispanic accent.
 
"Do I look like a racist old lady munching on donuts?" Maddie asked, climbing into the RV and helping Julia up the stairs. She wasn't as young as we thought. She was nervously clasping her hands together, staring down at the ground as she stood next to Maddie.
 
"Guys this is Julia," she said before turning to her, "you've met Spencer, Anikan, and Hunter before I think, but this is Ace, Quinn, Andrew, and Luis."
 
Luis gave her a simple wave, Space waved at her excitedly and gave her a quick "hi", Quinn shook her hand, and Andrew simply ignored her from the other side of the room. 
 
"You're actually being nice to children for once?" I asked Quinn.
 
He glared at me, "I mostly despise children for being annoying and loud. However, while I do not particularly like most children, this one does not seem to be either of those. So she is neutral."
 
"Hi," she said quietly before sitting on the floor beside Maddie, staring at the ground and tracing out the lines on the shag carpet.
 
"Alright if I'm gonna have a kid in here, they better not spill anything. This RV is my pride and joy, and I don't wanna have to replace the carpet because some gremlin spilt grape juice," Luis told Maddie.
 
"Look Luis, if you like your RV so much, why don't you just bang her already?" Hunter suggested.
 
Before Luis could shout back a comeback, Spencer smirked, "I mean, who says he hasn't? I'd bet a fifty he's stuck his dick in the tailpipe!"
 
While the two cackled in laughter, Luis continuing to stare them down, Maddie glared at the two, "there's a kid here, watch your mouths!"
 
"Calm down Maddie it's just a few swears," Spencer said, calming down a bit.
 
"Sorry Madds," Hunter said to Maddie before looking towards the girl, "sup lil muffinsack. How was your movie?"

"H-Hi. It was really good," the girl replied before retreating behind Maddie.
 
All of a sudden, our phones beeped. I picked mine up to see a notification from the news app appear on my screen. A breaking news report of some sort.
 
Maddie held up her hand, "Hamster turn on the news please."
 
"Stop calling me that!" he said to her before switching channels.
 
The news flashed on, conveniently showing the beginning of a news report. The man on the screen was talking in a serious tone about a topic which was displayed on the top right of the screen. At first, I was wondering why she wanted to watch it, but when I read over the caption, I was intrigued.
 
"Reports show that the sudden outbreak of mutated humans has seemingly grown, and four percent of the entire United States of America has seemingly fallen victim to this virus. The source of it is unknown, and scientists are working to find a cure, but if anyone begins showing suspicious behavior, please beware. More details and information to come on this breaking story later tonight, so tune in then."
 
I had heard about this a few weeks prior, after a video was released online and went viral for a few days before dying down. 
 
 
I sat in class, bored out of my mind, when suddenly a finger tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see a fellow classmate standing behind me, an alerted look on his face.
 
"Yo man you gotta see this! There's some crazy shooting going down over the bridge!" Ricardo told me.
 
I stood up, marching across the room to where several other classmates were crowded around a chromebook. I peeked past them to see a video on loop of a body on the ground. He was surrounded by police officers.
 
One of the officers approached the body, and I gasped in shock as the corpse began to shift. It began to spaz, almost as if it was having a seizure, and then it rose up. The man pounced on the officer, tearing into his neck with what seemed to be fangs.
"What the hell?"
 
"This is just a prank right?"
 
"Ah that's just a cheap vine. Skip!"
 
I stepped away from the desk, both confused and worried. What was going on?
 
 
"That's just a bunch of propaganda. Probably some new strain of the flu or something," Hunter commented.
 
"Possibly... I could head to work tomorrow and ask some of my colleagues if they know anything about this," Quinn said, "a few of them have friends who work on the CDC so it's not out of the question they'd know something about this."
 
Spencer then snickered, holding up his phone "it's barely been a few months, and there's already memes about it!"
 
A picture of a disfigured and blood covered man sat on the screen, captioned with the line, "me on Monday going to work with a hangover."
 
"Enough with the bad news. You guys wanna go grab a few cheeseburgers?" Luis asked.
 
I nodded, the others agreed. Luis got up and walked up to the front of the RV, passing Andrew whose gaze never left his phone. He got into the driver's seat and started up the RV, driving out of the parking space and out of the lot.
 
"So Julia, what grade are you in?" Space asked the young girl sitting beside Maddie.
 
"I'm in seventh grade," she said nervously, her voice soft and quiet.
 
"Really? Halfway through middle school right?" she asked with a smile.
 
"Mhm," she answered with a nod. She certainly was a lady of few words.
 
We drove the RV down and road and I stared out the window, admiring the city as we passed by. Our town was kinda small, but unique in a way. It was set up on an artificial piece of land across from the mainland of California. Our only connection were two bridges, the North Bridge and East Bridge.
 
However, I enjoyed the small town feel. Unlike my friend Lydia, who lived in New York City, our town was a minimalist. One high school, middle school, and elementary school, a small handful of neighborhoods, and not even a mayor. It was, in my opinion, pretty peaceful.
 
I looked down at my phone while we drove, seeing several text notifications from none other than Lydia. I smiled at the sight of her picture beside the message and opened the phone to answer.
 
Lydia: How was the movie?
 
You: Pretty good, why?
 
Lydia: Just wondering if you were still thinking about that thing from last night.
 
You: A little.
 
Lydia: Are you okay?
 
You: Yep! Everything's good!
 
Lydia: Alrighty, well if you're free tonight you wanna hop on and play something? Knights of Dragonia?
 
You: Sure, I'll be looking forward to it!

Lydia: ttyl! <3
 
I sat there smiling for a few seconds, my eyes focused on the small digital heart before I set the phone down, unaware that our call would never take place. I then looked towards Space, who was messing around on the navigation app. She was charting a course of some sort, checking the time it would take to get between here and what seemed to be Chicago.
 
"What's going on in Chicago?" I asked, "some school tournament or something?"
 
Space looked up at me nervously, "oh um, I was thinking about taking a trip out of town to um… visit someone."
 
I could tell she didn't want to say any more, so I didn't push the issue. I picked my phone back up, staring at the screen as I debated whether or not to invite Addison, my other online friend, to the call Lydia and I would be having tonight. On one hand, we hadn't called in a few days, but on the other, it would be nice to have some alone time with her.
 
Several minutes later the RV pulled up a fast food restaurant, driving around the side up to the radio on the side next to the menu. One by one we ordered our food, Luis going last.
 
"Yo man I want two number nines, a number nine large, a number six with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45's, one with cheese, and a-"
 
"Luis keep the references to a minimum," Space scolded with a glare.
 
We then pulled up to the next window, where we all gave a few dollars to pay. Maddie slapped Spencer on the back of the head, distracting him from his game so he could play. He reached into his hoodie, pulling out a few dollars and tossing them at Luis. 
 
"There seems to be something peculiar going on," Quinn commented, keeping me from zoning out. Hunter and I stood up, glancing out the window Quinn was staring at. Down the street there were several police cars sitting in the road, their flashing lights illuminating the night sky.
 
"Stay here," Hunter told everyone before hopping out of the RV. I was curious about the situation as well, so I followed, and both Space and Quinn did as well. We stopped in front of the fast food joint, joining another small crowd of customers who had come outside to see the commotion.
 
A man was standing in the center of the road, several cops surrounding him with their weapons drawn. I pushed past the other people and made it to the edge of the sidewalk, crouching down as I neared one of the parked police cars. I peeked over the top, eyeing the man closely.
 
"Put it down!" One of the cops shouted at him.
 
The man shouted back in a foreign language I couldn't understand. A hand grabbed my shoulder and I jumped, thinking I had gotten caught. I stopped and looked back, seeing Hunter and the others crouching down behind me. 
 
"Are you crazy!? Let's go before we get caught!" he shouted at me in a hushed tone.
 
I shook his arm away, "not yet! Space do you know what he's saying?"
 
"Nope," she said with a shake of her head, "Quinn?"
 
"Affirmative. He's speaking in Russian it seems... let me think..."
 
The man stepped back, shouting something else as he held his hands high in the air. But he didn't seem to be surrendering. If he was, the police would have taken him down. But they were surrounding him, not daring to move more than an inch. Why didn't they just cuff him?
 
"Why?" I asked myself within my mind as my heart began to beat faster and faster, as if it was preparing itself for the danger that was yet to come, "if he was surrendering, and he didn't have a hostage, then why didn't they arrest him already?"
 
As the man shouted at the cops, Quinn's eyes widened. He suddenly whispered, "it seems he has a bomb."
 
"What!?"
 
And suddenly, it happened. One of the police officers opened his mouth to speak, taking a step forward to the foreign man's left. The man noticed, let out a scream, and suddenly, a flash of light. I stared into the explosion, feeling the full force of a large explosion as it shook the street. The road was torn apart, the cars blown backwards by the force of the explosion.
 
The last thing I saw before blacking out was that police officer. One moment he was there, and the next he was torn apart by the blast.

The Omega Event follows a group of eight teenagers who discover the truth behind a world ending nuclear event that could mean the end of America and themselves. After their initial disregard of the truth, a deadly encounter leads them to realize that the end is truly upon them. Desperate to survive, they set off on a life threatening road trip across America in the hopes of escaping the claws of death that is THE OMEGA EVENT.

Danny ignored the concerned look the security guards passed him. They might have noticed the grimace on his face. He couldn't help how it distorted in pain every time he took a step forward. Danny inserted the key into the hole, twisting it to open the lock and wondered why his best friend didn't opt for the fingerprint or password-based digital door lock system. He's crazy rich, after all. 
The mansion had everything designed in the old-fashioned style, including the handle door lock. On second thought, Danny actually felt grateful that it didn't have the digital lock system. If it required entering a password, Danny was sure he would've messed it up because right now he couldn't think or remember anything except running into the safety of his room before anyone sees him. 
It was late when he reached home, and he prayed that none of his friends would be awake, but it seemed he'd no such luck. The living room on the second floor had dim lighting, and Danny guessed his friends were in the home theatre on the third floor. 
'How did I forget? Friday night is our movie night.'
He felt a pang of guilt in his chest for ditching his friends at the dinner. He took off to his bedroom, and after double-checking the door to make sure he'd locked it, he removed the ugly yellow trench coat and grimaced in disgust before dumping it in the trash can. It reeked of alcohol and tobacco. Jack's friend exchanged it with his hoodie because the wanker liked it. 
"Don't leave the wound open for too long, boy. Tend to it before it gets worse and apply something on it," Jack had said, mocking sympathy. Danny cursed the drug dealer and removed his shirt carefully and threw it into the trash can as well. The wound wasn't that deep, but it still stung like a bitch. 
He took a bath and applied an antiseptic cream on the cut. He bandaged it himself and got dressed in his sweats before knocking the door to the home theatre. No one paid attention when he entered as they all looked busy. Danny's eyes involuntarily searched for his sister and found her sitting in the last row with his best friend. 
They weren't watching the movie, but instead, Victoria secret fashion show played on the screen. Danny smiled, immediately guessing it was Evelyn's pick to watch it. He found her rocking her head and shoulder in sync with the music while Shawn Mendes performed. He felt like a sore loser for ditching her tonight after all that hard work they did in the kitchen. 
Meanwhile, Eric and Michael had their eyes glued to the screen. The beauty and hotness of the skinny models had their undivided attention. Bianca and Samantha were having fun dancing to the tune of their favourite singer. Danny silently marched towards Evelyn and took his seat beside her. 
"Sorry for ditching you, Princess," he whispered in her ear. Her smile was blinding, and he felt like it instantly healed the wound in his abdomen. She looked more beautiful than those angels on the screen. 
'God, I'm fucked for good.'
He couldn't help but smile like an idiot at her welcoming gesture. 
He ignored when Michael gave him a questioning look while Eric glared in return, clearly pissed at Danny. 
He chanced a glance at Hera and Hunter. His sister was busy playing Candy Crush Saga game on Hunter's phone. Danny could hear the faint sound of the game even in the middle of the loud music. Hunter wasn't watching the screen, Hera being the object of his sole attention, a smile played on his lips as he stared at Hera. 
He pinched the side of her neck in an attempt to shift her attention back to him and grinned when Hera's fist punched his arm before she shoved him away. He repeated the action, and his Goddess glared before pinching his cheek harshly. Hunter grabbed her hand and pulled her onto his lap, trying to kiss her. Danny looked away from them and sighed, the conflicting emotions overflowed weighing his shoulders down. 
Jack had offered another way to repay him, but Danny wasn't sure if that eased his worries one bit. "If your little sister agreed to work in my strip club for a month, it would earn me the lost money back. Because the regular guests of my club are all rich fuckers," Jack had said. Danny wanted to strangle him when he grinned, satisfied with his suggestion. 
Reluctantly Danny had inclined his head, not that there's any other way to escape it. That helpless nod had made Jack agree to let him off the hook for the time being. 
"We're calling it a night," Hunter announced suddenly, putting a halt to Danny's chain of thoughts. He watched as his best friend carried his sister in his arms in bridal style and walked out of the theatre. 
Hunter kicked the door shut with his foot and walked to the bed. Hera squealed when he threw her on the bed, and her form bounced on the soft mattress. Laughing, he pulled his T-shirt over his head and tossed it right onto her face when she teasingly whistled at him.
Hera rolled over onto her back, making room for him. She smirked before biting her bottom lip with an appreciating gaze fixed on him, feasting on his naked torso. Propping her head up on an elbow, she looked down at Hunter as he settled beside her. He arched his brow with a knowing look before rolling his eyes at her. 
"Stop staring at me like I'm the last meal of your life. You're scaring me, Goddess," Hunter said, giving her an unimpressed look. Hera chuckled cutely and pecked him on the mouth. "You're the last meal of my life, Mr Hunter, a favourite one at that," she whispered as if it's supposed to be a secret. 
He held his breath as her hands roamed over his torso experimentally. Shaking his head, he pushed her away, and Hera pouted in disappointment. "You're breaching the line, Goddess. I don't want to do anything that you would regret later. So I'm warning you, don't play with me, I'm this close to losing my restrain," he said, warning her. "I only wanted to kiss you," Hera offered in her defence. 
Hunter glared at her with his narrowed eyes, causing Hera to roll her eyes in return. "Lucifer, stop acting like you don't want to touch me. Innocence doesn't suit you," she said accusingly. "And what wedding night was Mike speaking about?" She asked. When Hunter ignored her, she gave him a dirty look. 
"I hate it when you hide things from me. You have this rule of 'no secrets' with your friends, but you keep secrets from me," Hera said, throwing a pillow at him to emphasize her anger. 
Snorting his laughter, Hunter silently arranged the pillow back to its original place before grabbing his cell phone. "Goddess, give me ten minutes. I need to talk to my parents," he said, leaving a peck on the crown of her head. Hera scoffed and glared at his retreating frame as he walked away from the bed towards the open balcony. 
"I'll kill you if you don't answer my question after finishing your call," Hera yelled, threatening him with her fingernails which she assumed to be her claws right then. Hunter grinned at her before pulling the glass door shut behind him. 
It took him more than ten minutes to finish his conversation with his parents, and Hera decided to brush her teeth in the meantime. 
When she returned from the bathroom, her eyes rounded in surprise before narrowing into slits. Hunter was on the bed, with books perched around him, some of his books and some belonged to her. Arranging the wet towel on the backrest of the desk chair, she marched towards him. 
She didn't miss how Hunter eyed towel disapprovingly where she'd left it on the chair. "It has a particular place made for it you know," he said, confirming her thoughts. "You, neat freak, stop trying to divert my attention. I told you, you're not getting a veto on that question," Hera said, joining him on the bed. 
Hunter silently offered his phone to her while she eyed it cluelessly. "If you drop that topic, you get to play games, and I'll study until we fall asleep or I'll answer that question and tutor you till you fall asleep. Choose your options, Goddess," he said and smirked at her annoyed face. Hera mouthed "Fine," before snatching the phone from his hands. 
Candy Crush and Word Cross couldn't keep her interested for more than thirty minutes, and when she got bored, Hera opened his Instagram. He hadn't posted any new picture, since their date. She read some comments under his posts and then scrolled through the explore page to kill time. Hunter, the bookworm, he was known for, had already lost track of time, immersed deep in his book. 
Hera's thumb scrolled upward again as a picture demanded her immediate attention. She'd almost missed it while scrolling down. She thought she'd seen a sketch or maybe it's a painting she wasn't sure. Hera had very little knowledge regarding art and artistic things.
Her eyes widened to their full size, and she sat up, crossing her legs as she found it. It was Hunter's picture. Someone had drawn his sketch. 


"Your virginity has always been mine to take," he said while his fingers gripped the neckline of her gown ready to rip it off. Her teary eyes widened in shock at his declaration, and she forgot to breathe. All the colours drained from her face as she froze frightened.

She was meant to be his forever, but his one mistake turned her love into hatred. He was her Prince Charming, but her hatred turned him into a heartless Villain. 

Mistakes and misunderstandings led to heartbreaks.

She doesn't want to be with him anymore, but he doesn't want to let her go, ever. 

A Love-Hate relationship between childhood Sweethearts who turned into archenemies by the time they reached adulthood.

PS. The male protagonist comes with a bit of negative shade. My characters are immature reckless teenagers, and they act impulsively. They make mistakes and wrongs, but eventually, they'll learn from their wrongdoings. Don't be too quick to judge them unless and until you read till the end.

"No no, we don't mind at all. You...young people have such good hearts. You didn't haste to help your friend when he was in need. You are such a good boy. It's men like you that I want our Kelly to be with. If only....."


Kelly face palmed...Ken just smiled his boyish smile but Hunter gave off a smug look that wasn't noticed by Sam and Matthew. Kelly saw it and wanted to tell herself that her dad DIDN'T just say that. Just as she was about to convince herself, she heard Hunter's voice in her head..


"If only your parents already knew that you love me, but I guess you wouldn't want to tell them since I don't love you and it wouldn't work between us." 


Kelly got more angry and decided to go upstairs..

"Good night everyone..sweet dreams"


Hunter and Ken followed her after Ken was informed of his room's location which was at the right hand side of Kelly's room. He couldn't help but laugh when he noticed this. Kelly's parents were really trying too hard.



The next morning was a Sunday morning. 

The whole family including Ken and Hunter went to church and enjoyed the teaching that added a new good thing to their lives.


Sam and Matthew were receiving so many compliments from people because of Ken and Hunter.


An old woman and her husband walked up to them..

"Matthew...it's been a long time. I haven't been able to thank you for footing the bill for my son's surgery last month. If not for God bringing up such good men like you, he would probably be dead."


As she said this, she got so emotional and almost knelt down in gratitude..

Kelly reacted before everyone else and held her up to keep her from kneeling down. What would God think of them if they let an old lady kneel before them. All her parents success were given to them by God so it wouldn't be right.

When Hunter saw this, he couldn't help but compliment Kelly for the first time ever.. while making a mental note to talk to the angel of healing about this. 

"Nice job Kelly"

After that, he looked at Ken..who immediately brought out a golden tablet that looked like a phone and then sent a message to someone. Kelly saw this and guessed that it was probably what they used.. to communicate with other angels.


Matthew who was almost too late when he was trying to stop the woman from kneeling down was relieved that he had such a good daughter.

" it's okay mom...it's okay."

The old lady looked at Kelly then at Hunter and Ken with surprise.


"Matthew, I didn't know that you had such grown up boys. No...no that's not right, I knew when Kelly was born and Sam didn't give birth to triplets.  They are probably courting Kelly right. She is such a good girl. Any man would be lucky to be with her."

Hunter wanted to laugh out loud at the last sentence but that would be rude so he shut his mouth. Ken just kept his cool and continued smiling.

The old lady continued talking..

"Oh and if one of them ends up with Kelly, the other should also try considering my grand daughter. As a grandma, I worry about all these things more than the young people."

Both Hunter and Ken just smiled and nodded their heads. 


When they got home, Sam and Matthew left for work. The three young people didn't have anything to do so they decided to watch a horror movie...they also switched off the lights In order to get a better effect.

In between the movie, a horrifying scene was shown and someone screamed. After that, Kelly felt a pair of hands on her shoulder and froze...


After some minutes, someone finally found the light switch. Ken observed the scene after switching on the lights..


Hunter held Kelly's shoulder  tightly while Kelly wasn't moving at all. Ken went towards Hunter and tried to remove his hands from Kelly's shoulder but it was really firm.


He finally removed it forcefully and couldn't help but ridicule Hunter..

"Dude come on.. you were seeking protection from a girl when you are a man and an angel too. I wonder what the other angels will feel like if they saw this.You are lucky that everyone is busy today and the only available angel...the healing angel was given a job by us today. Help me and find a way to unfreeze Kelly. The poor girl was frightened by you."


They took the next 30 minutes to revive Kelly. But now they all had to sleep in the living room because both Hunter and Kelly were afraid of sleeping alone. They were so scared that they didn't even have time to make fun of each other.
