"For everytime I closed my eyes, all I see is darkness. I always feel like I'm dying whenever I fall asleep. This is how I got my nightmare."

Juno is just an ordinary gorgon girl! She goes to an ordinary and boring school. She doesn’t think of herself as significant in any way. 
So why do bad things keep happening to her? 
This must be a dream.
This must be a nightmare.

Bad Dream rode to the North Pole, something he didn't understand but followed the Nightmare the best he could. A yeti stopped him at the gate, "Excuse me, I need to speak to whoever is in charge here."

They yeti called out and another appeared, the first told him something, and the second returned inside. Shortly after, a big man with tattoos on his arms returned with the second yeti, "Yes?"

"Excuse me sir, I am Bad Dream. I am the protector of the Nightmares and I am looking for lost ones to bring home. May I search your facility for missing Nightmares?" Bad Dream spoke respectfully and without fear.

"You work with Nightmares? You be gone before I kill your Nightmare! Tell Pitch to stay hidden or the Guardians will be after him!" North yelled holding his sword out to the Nightmare.

"Pitch is dead; I do not work for him, never met the man actually. I work for Tragedy and she has asked me to gather all of her Nightmares and bring them home. I know for a fact that you have one in this facility because this Nightmare brought me here," Bad Dream stepped in between the sword and his Nightmare.

"What is Tragedy?" North asked slightly annoyed by the black skinned man before him. He knew he should hurry this along since the other Guardians would be arriving shortly to have a meeting about how things would work now that Pitch was 'gone' and the Nightmares were disappearing. It had only been two days but a plan needed to be made if the darkness ever came back.

"She is my boss. I don't have time for this. I need to find the Nightmares, they will go hungry without their master!" Bad Dream yelled, agitated.

"Eh, Mate what is going on?" Bunny hopped out next to the yeti and North.

"He thinks there's a Nightmare in the North Pole," North said.

"I know there is. I also know it has been here at least two days and will die if not given the proper care," Bad Dream was getting more annoyed by the second. Tooth and Sandy came outside to stand by their friends. "Do you really need all this back up for an unarmed man and a horse? I mean really?"

"Are you going to cause problems?" Tooth asked crossing her arms.

"I just want the Nightmare," Bad Dream sighed rubbing his nose where his eyes met.

Jack, the last to arrive flew up behind Bad Dream and starred at the Nightmare. "What's going on?"

Bad Dream about repeated himself until he saw Jack, "You're Jack Frost!" Bad Dream stuck out his hand and shook Jack's, "I can't believe I am actually meeting you! I have seen your heroic deeds many times but I never thought I would get to shake your hand. My boss would love to see you!" The Guardians looked shocked, they were supposed to be the famous ones.

"Do I know you?" Jack asked confused.

"Oh, I am sorry. No, we don't know each other. I think you would remember a black skinned man. I know you from the Nightmares. Most of them have a memory of you, it is pretty amazing. I died with the love of my life in my arms but you died saving your sister," Bad Dream looked at the Nightmare with him; she had a little boy's fear of horses, ironically.

"How do you have a memory of Jack dying in a Nightmare?" Tooth asked looking at the Nightmare.

"This one doesn't but the Nightmares have a similar power to the tooth boxes the Tooth fairy uses. They hold the worst memories a person has, their biggest fears, and/or their nightmares. The memory of Jack falling through the ice is what created the most Nightmares and the most powerful one, Kōri that a man named North killed," Bad Dream looked at the tattooed man that he guessed was North. North stood taller.

"How did Pitch use my memory of falling through the ice to make the Nightmares when I didn't even remember it until three days ago?" Jack looked lost.

"He didn't. The Nightmares were made from my boss's memory. Kōri was Tragedy's biggest Nightmare. Apparently she was so powerful she held most of the traumas that happened to Tragedy," Bad Dream smiled, "I am really just trying to take the Nightmares home so they don't hurt anyone or die themselves. Please, this Nightmare will be able to find the other, they are all connected." When one dies, the others feel its pain and now that Bad Dream was connected to them so did he.

Jack looked to North who was pondering when he could have killed a powerful Nightmare. "North? If I go with him, can we locate the Nightmare?" Jack asked politely.

"Yes, I think that is best," North sighed giving up.

"I will go with you as well," Tooth said flying towards Bad Dream who smiled with his shinny white teeth. "Your teeth! They are almost as perfect as Jack's!"

"Thank you, ma'am. I use to be a slave but my wife made sure I was taken care of," Bad Dream smiled remembering Kathrine.

"You were married?" Bunny asked walking beside him.

"Yeah, Kathrine Elizabeth. She was the Master's daughter, we died in each other's arms. She was shot and drowned by slave traders and I was beaten and then shot. We were lucky," He sighed.

"I am so sorry!" Tooth said wrapping him in a hug.

"Don't be," Bad Dream patted her shoulder, "Tragedy has promised to help me find her again as long as I help her with the Nightmares."

"What kind of name is Tragedy?" Bunny looked under a tablecloth.

"It is the name she gave herself after being dead for a couple hundred years. She had a really tragic life and when she died she worked for Pitch Black. She also went around doing the job of death. She reunites lovers and friends even if sometimes she has to do so in the afterlife. It is a really sad job but it suits her," Bad Dream thought about the scared little girl he first met in the ally. It was hard to believe he had been scared of her. "Although she is a great deal happier now that Pitch is gone, well, other than the fact that we found out today that Pitch is really dead forever. She is kind of hurting especially since he told her he loved her in a letter we found today."

Everyone stopped walking except Bad Dream, "Pitch loved someone?" North shook his head.

"Impossible! He only cared about himself," Bunny stared ahead trying to focus.

"Is he really dead?" Tooth asked trying to get the idea of him showing something as good as love out of her head.

"The Nightmares say he is, they ate him because they were afraid of him hurting Tragedy. He loved her; I saw it in his eyes when he stopped by the caves. At the time I didn't know who he was and I was scared to be found by anyone other than Tragedy without her there," Bad Dream whistled and heard the soft whisper of a Nightmare. "Tragedy is not a normal woman, she is special. She is the kind of person you can't help but love in one way or another. What is through that door?"

North followed Bad Dream's finger, "The sleigh."

"Well, my Nightmare is through there. She is badly injured, I will need some fear to give her," Bad Dream looked at the group. He took a deep breath and held out his hand, "Jack? Would you mind helping me?"

"Why me?" Jack asked coming forward anyway.

"Because there is a good chance she will recognize you and you also seem to be afraid of what she has to reveal," Bad Dream opened the door and pulled Jack through.

On the other side the sleigh sat empty to the average onlooker, Bad Dream though saw the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. A Nightmare to rule them all; badly injured but still alive. "Kōri?"

This is a Fanfiction about Rise of the Guardians. It is a cartoon movie that came out years ago staring Jack Frost, North, Tooth, Bunny, and Sandy. The story I started in 2013 and finished 4 years later, is revamped with longer chapters, more complete story arc, and a happier ending! Yay!

What happened to Jack's sister after Jack fell through the ice? She is left alone on a frozen lake after witnessing her brother drown. Jeannie, Jack's little sister, makes a new friend, someone no one would have ever guessed. Jeannie would do anything to see Jack again. Characters; Jack Frost, North, Pitch Black, Sophie, Jamie, Claude, Caleb, Baby Tooth and more!


I would classify the different parts as

Jack's Sister- Tragedy/Jeannie's story. Takes place only during the movie. Tragedy/action/drama.

Daydream- Daydream/Katherine's story. Takes place before the movie. Tragedy/romance.

Fire and Water- Daydream and Tragedy together. Takes place after movie. Comedy/Girl flick/Drama.

The Miss Guardians- The whole crew. After the movie. Romance/Drama/Happy Ending.

Eclipse- New Characters. A continuation after movie. Romance/Drama/action/ maybe a little horror and a little tragedy.

I hope that sums it up well. Although, I love this story so I am biased.

no one's P.O.V

Dream, Ink, and Blue were planning in case the bad sans' attack.

Dream wasn't paying much attention, he was mostly think about last night and how Nightmare opened up.

"Umm... Dream? You ok?" Ink asked. Dream was daydreaming and couldn't hear him. 

"Dream?" Blue asked, repeating ink. 

Still no response.

"Dream!" They both yelled grabbing Dreams attention.

Dream jumped a bit "What?!" He said loudly and confused.

"Are you ok?" Blue asked, worried.

"Yeah.. why?" Dream asked kinda hesitant.

"You've been daydreaming for most of the meeting.." Ink also said in a worried tone.

"I-im fine.." Dream said stuttering.

Ink and Blue gave him a suspicious look, not believing what he said.

"I don't believe that.." Ink stated.

"I-im telling the truth!" Dream said standing up with a bit of blush.

Unfortunately for Dream, Ink and Blue noticed his blush. They looked at each other then back at ink with smug smirks.

"Is Dreamy in loove~" Ink and Blue said in sync.

"W-what! N-no I'm not!" Dream said, face flushed completely gold.

He took a second to thinks bout dating Nightmare. 'It wouldn't be that ba- NO DREAM! He's your brother! That's wrong!' he thought to himself

Thinking that kinda made dream feel weird.. he didn't know what it was though. 'pain?... no.. that doesn't make any sense!' Dream thought. 'wait... Do I like him?!'

"Sooo.. who is it?!" Blue said eager.

They then noticed the 'sad-ish' face Dream had. Ink and Dream looked at each other again, concerned.

"A-are... you alright dream?" Blue asked.

"I-... I actually really like someone.. I can't tell you who it is! But.. I realized how.. wrong it is.." Dream said accepting the fact that he liked Nightmare.

Ink and Blue once again looked at each other this time, with a sadder face.

"I-its ok Dream.. it can't be that bad!" Blue said, ink nodding after.

Dream gave them a 'seriously' type of face.

"No! It's like REALLY bad.." Dream stated, refusing to tell them it was his own brother, Nightmare!

"So? Error and I are dating and we're on different sides.. I guess that pretty bad.. it can't possibly be THAT bad." Ink said trying to comfort Dream but failing.

"Mine is so bad that in some places on the OG earth, I can get arrested and if I marry them then.. Everywhere!!" Dream said having a mini panic attack.

Ink ad Blue looked like they wanted to know so bad. But at the same time uncomfortable. 

They were taking glances at each other. It looked like they were having a conversation with their eyes..

"Now you have to tell us!" Blue said so eager that he nearly fell off his seat.

Dreams P.O.V

Blue was now doing the puppy dog eyes he knew I couldn't say no to..

I shut my eyes.. "I-.. I can-" I slowly opened an eye while talking but while I was his face just got cuter.

I- uh.. I- FINE!!" I said opening my eyes throwing my hands up in defeat. Blue was jumping up and down in his seat with literal stars in his eyes. Ink was also excited.. but clearly not as much as blue..

"I- um I- like uh I like-... I like nightmare!" I said shutting his eyes. Ink and Blues face when from excited to shocked real quick. They also looked confused.

"W-what! Why?! What made you like him..?!" Ink asked.

Dreams P.O.V

"I- um.. so- N-nightmare opened up a bit to me yesterday.. and when he did it mad me feel all weird inside..and I liked it.." Dream said blushing even more.

Ink and Blue were still shocked but we're fanboying at the same time. Dream relieved by their reaction.

"I mean I know your brother's and all but still! That's adorable! And it's so shocking that NIGHTMARE of all people opened up!" Blue said rambling on and on.

Dream and Ink were looking at Blue rambling while chuckling to themselves.

I am so sad ! I mean I love Dream and my boss hate and try to destroy all the time, now he is a kidnapper and, of course, he kidnap two of my friends. I think I'm going to speak to boss. I already spy Dream often and I think I know where he'll be tomorrow. I am before the door. It's already open. Great ! He is free right now ! I decide to enter without knocking and I see a strange thing. A plush of Killer. I take my phone, verify I don't have the flash and take a picture. I do 3 more steps for see a Killer remove the pants of the boss and a boss lick killer's neck. I take 3 pictures and run to the living room.

-Hey Chara ! You saw what I saw ?

- Of course ! It was Hilarious 

- You know what it means...

- It's not everyday you can blackmail your boss.

'' A fight ? Okay but I drink a coffee first. ''

He is really scared to see his Dusty go away from him for calling me. I create a portal and go to Horrortale.
I hear someone, Nightmare.

'' Ohhh... So you call Lust. You are scared to lose ? It's okay but I have a new machine and with this machine we can see the soul of everybody here. I just have to click here... ''

'' Blue I am not dealing wi- ''

I can see the face of the bad sanses horrorified, I know it's a bad joke but you can't be funny all the time. The only thing I say is

'' You want to play ? Let's play. Nightmare and Dream are brothers !'' 

Every bad sanses look at Nightmare and Dream. Then Ink say

'' The only thing Cross have is a photo where Dream smile ! Killer has a photo where Nightmare do a shower ! 
Nightmare has a plush of Killer ! Dust has a cushion of Blue ! And Horror and Lust sleep together ! ''

Silence. After the silence Cross say

'' I see Killer in the bed of Nightmare and start to remove the T-shirt of Nightmare ! And when I was in the living room I hear Killer moaning like hell ! ''

'' Cross you brat ! You have a picture of my brother and you denounces my relation with Killer ! I will kill you ! ''

I am pretty sure it's because Cross was in danger but Dream say

'' Ink was top of Error and they didn't do a sound because Blue threat them  ! ''

Blue was very angry

'' Dream ate the apple and cut himself ! ''

'' And Blue is a yandere who kill more than everyone here ! '' 

'' And Ink a soulless and eat all the candy of Dream ! ''

The star sanses see their secrets discovered little by little by the bad sanses. The characters are not mine, only the story.

Lunars POV - 4 years old
I fell asleep and woke up in a big empty room. Do most four-year-olds dream of this? I see one other person with me. Brown hair, darkish skin and as confused as I was. I walk over to him and sit next to him. "Hi! I'm Luna!" I introduce myself. "... Felix." He trails off, his eyes widened when he looked forwards. I try to see what he's looking at, to see a tall woman, dressed in all white. "Children? Interesting, most dream-watchers are only chosen above the age of 8, you two are very special indeed"
We both look at her confused. "Oh right! Hello children, I am the peace-maker, guardian of the balance in the world", I look at her with admiration, Felix was calm the whole time. "You are currently in the dream realm, it seems you two have been chosen to protect dreams and nightmares." "Nightmares?" Felix questioned the peace-maker. "Yes, nightmares too, not all nightmares are completely evil." We look at her with shock. "Nightmares are bad though! They're scary and mean!" I stand up to her with disbelief. I am much shorter than her though, maybe below her knee cap. 
"Ah, you must be the dream-watcher, then little one" She crouches down to look at me, before passing a white orb to me. "Touch this for me, if you will?" I press on it, and it turns to gold. My face lights up as a story plays in the orb. It looked like a dream. "Ah, so you are Luna, right? Luna, You can turn nightmares to dreams, meaning you should protect these dreams from wrongly given nightmares." I hold the dream and nod. I sit back down, all too excited to see what Felix could do.
"And Felix, that must mean you're a night-watcher. If you hold on a white or gold orb, it can turn purple. This is a nightmare." He looks startled. "But why would I do that? That's mean!" He looks down. "Not all nightmares are bad little one, if someone were planning to hurt another person, you could give them a nightmare, then the person who they were planning to hurt wouldn't get hurt." He nods slowly, he seems overwhelmed by the idea of controlling nightmares, but I was also still slightly overwhelmed by the idea of controlling dreams as well, so that makes sense.
Lunars POV - 7 years old
I wake up in the dream realm. My dream-watcher outfit looks cooler every year. It looks like armour but feels light in away. It was mostly white, with golden details on almost every edge, as well as some plain black pants, I needed to be able to walk around comfortably. I walk over to Felix, who was reading a book. His outfit was an inverted version of mine, black with purple details, but yet still chose to have ordinary black pants. "What are you reading today?" "Science fiction" He was a bit of a nerd, but a love-able nerd none-the-less.
I look up to see a wall of nightmares. "You really had to make this hard for me, didn't you?" He looks up from his book and turns to the wall. "Sorry, they were calling out to me again." He looks down. "It's alright! Got any cookies?" His face lights up as he passes me a cookie from the stash we found in a kids dream. "Thanks! Well, meet up later?" He nods. It's been a while since we spent a whole day together, but I had to start taking this job more seriously. 
I sit at the dream lake and start transforming nightmares to dreams. I hear Felix cry out, And I run to him. He had accidentally held onto a nightmare for too long. Black liquid flows from his eyes, and he slowly turns to a nightmare, looking nothing like the Felix I knew.  I quickly turn his nightmare back to a dream, and He transforms back. He looks terrified, I hug him as he started crying. That was corrupted Felix, if either of us held onto a nightmare for too long, our own dreams would turn to a nightmare, and result in in...that.
I've never done that, but I have seen glimpses of myself like that before, It feels painful, you feel angry and sad, and scared, and all negative emotions. It was like you had no control over yourself, no choice but to feel awful about everything. I don't like the thought of it, neither does Felix, Why would the peace-maker make that possible? Neither of us gets it, it's an awful thing to happen to a person. we stay hugging for a while before I have to go back to take care of the dreams. I feel so bad for him, But I just hope it doesn't happen again.

The man with a scarred face was successful in goading Zhao Yanqing into a fight.
Once he finished speaking, a few projectiles were thrown in his direction from another side.
The man with a scarred face had already prepared for this. While he was getting ready to avoid the damage caused by the explosions, he found that two aerosol bombs were thrown near him. 
The white smoke that billowed out covered the entire street. After a while, the man with a scarred face started focusing on listening to the sounds around him.
He had excellent hearing, much better than ordinary people. This was one of the reasons why he could slaughter whoever he wanted in this battle royale game.
Another reason was that he was cruel and merciless enough.
There!
The man with a scarred face heard Zhao Yanqing running. He directly raised the Groza Rifle in his hands, then crossed over the low wall he was hiding behind. He pulled the trigger as he aimed at a position enveloped in smoke. 
The Groza Rifle's super high rate of fire… instantly shot out a hail of bullets towards the direction the man with a scarred face was aiming at!
The bullets tore up the smoke and shot straight towards Zhao Yanqing.
Zhao Yanqing also responded in kind.
The man with a scarred face had no idea if he had shot Zhao Yanqing. However, his head was hit by a bullet from a Type 95 Automatic Rifle! 
Luckily, he was wearing a level-three helmet on his head right now. Things with a design prototype produced by the westerners had higher resistance.
The bullet that hit the level-three helmet of the man had only left a dent. However, his body was pushed a step backward by the impact. 
There were ringing sounds in his ears, as if his head was put inside a bell and someone had banged it fiercely.
Even so, the man with a scarred face still heard Zhao Yanqing's footsteps. He had run far away!
The fierceness deep in the man's heart made him take off the helmet that was getting in his way. He raised the Groza Rifle and chased after Zhao Yanqing. 
While he was tailing Zhao Yanqing, they almost never stopped shooting at each other.
The man with a scarred face also paid attention to another thing. He was carefully counting how many gunshots Zhao Yanqing had fired.
He had looked into the magazines generated on this island. The magazine of an automatic rifle could only contain forty bullets. And now, this was already the thirty-seventh bullet Zhao Yanqing had shot!
When Zhao Yanqing fired three shots again in a row and missed, the man with a scarred face knew his chance had come.
Zhao Yanqing maintained a long distance from the man and hid in a building.
The man with a scarred face soon identified which building Zhao Yanqing was hiding in based on his footsteps. He lowered his body and swiftly went towards that building.
An incredibly soft sound of bullets being loaded into the magazine came from a room in that building.
He didn't prepare a backup magazine?
The man with a scarred face couldn't quite believe that a professional like Zhao Yanqing hadn't prepared a backup magazine in such a situation.
However… He couldn't be sure about it. These Dream Explorers only came in here to wander around at first, thinking that they were here for sightseeing. They might not have thought about killing since the beginning!
The sound of bullets being pressed into the magazine was soft. Zhao Yanqing was apparently trying his best to control his moves. 
This was his chance!
The man didn't miss the opportunity. He used the least risky way.
He pulled out the safety pin of one sound bomb and two fragmentation grenades, then directly threw them inside the window,
When the three projectiles all exploded, the man with a scarred face immediately used the Groza Rifle to indiscriminately spray the suspected position with bullets through the window. 
But after firing for a while, the man with a scarred face found that there wasn't anyone in the room at all!
How was that possible? Then, where did the sound of changing bullets come from?
The man with a scarred face suddenly saw some residue in the corner of the room. That was a scorched magazine and something that looked like the remains of a machine.
This was a trap!
It was already too late when this thought flashed in the mind of the man.
Zhao Yanqing jumped straight down from the second floor and directly knocked the man down to the floor. He then pressed him down tight.
"You…"
While the man with a scarred face wanted to shout, Zhao Yanqing took out a dagger and held it at his throat.
At this moment, the man used the power of his entire body to try to push the dagger away.
And yet, the sharp dagger still pressed at the throat of the man bit by bit, cutting off the skin slowly. It then went through his muscles and trachea until the man couldn't speak at all. 
Zhao Yanqing stared at the man with a scarred face with a cold gaze.
He had never planned to kill the man with a gun since the start. This man had humiliated his wife and daughter. It would be too nice for him to be killed by a bullet!
The blade of the dagger finally cut through the man's throat. Zhao Yanqing ended his life with this dagger.
As he wiped off the blood on the dagger, the sight around him was swallowed by darkness.
The Lord of Nightmare walked out of the darkness and clapped gently at the same time.
It was clapping very slowly. Nobody could feel if it was celebrating or being sarcastic.
"You finally won this time, Mr. Zhao."
The Lord of Nightmare seemed to know Zhao Yanqing. Zhao Yanqing also acted calmly. He knew the dagger in his hand couldn't hurt this Lord of Nightmare.
"Tapir, you shouldn't have dragged a student into a nightmare."
While Zhao Yanqing was speaking, he looked at Qiu Ren, who was standing behind the Lord of Nightmare.
He also hinted at Qiu Ren not to get too close to that guy with his eyes.
The Lord of Nightmare had a moody temperament. Nobody knew if Tapir would keep Qiu Ren in this nightmare forever on the spur of the moment.
Qiu Ren raised his hand and told Zhao Yanqing not to worry too much. He still had some ways of escaping from this nightmare. 
"I only want to give Mr. Qiu Ren a stage, as I'm interested in his potential and talent. The results show that the nightmare built by Mr. Qiu Ren is extraordinarily… yummy." 
Tapir's voice carried uncontrollable excitement as it spoke towards the end.
"Yummy… You're not planning to change the Nightmare Dungeon back to the death tower?"
This was awful news for Zhao Yanqing.
When he won this battle royale game, it meant that… all the other ninety-nine death row prisoners and Dream Explorers participating in this Nightmare Dungeon didn't survive.
Harms brought by death in a nightmare would be projected to the real world.
Zhao Yanqing could already estimate how many death row prisoners and Dream Explorers would sleep in the nightmare forever and wouldn't be able to wake up in reality!
He wasn't sympathizing with the death row prisoners. However, the number of death row prisoners in Fengdu Prison was limited!
Right now, the consumption of human lives of this Level S Nightmare Seed had increased by five times. Once the death row prisoners in Fengdu Prison were all swallowed by the nightmare, the Dream Explorers of Fengdu Prison and soldiers from other military regions would have to take their places.
So, the ultimate goal of Zhao Yanqing exploring this nightmare was to negotiate with the Lord of Nightmare. He had to convince Tapir to change the Nightmare Dungeon back to the death tower, which only needed twenty Dream Explorers each time!
"Don't you humans always need a change as well? I'm very satisfied with the battle royale game Mr. Qiu Ren built. I'm so satisfied that I can't wait to start the second round."
The Lord of Nightmare, Tapir, seemed to be dissatisfied with Zhao Yanqing's questioning. What it said towards the end made Zhao Yanqing shudder with fear.
It was already horrifying enough when the Nightmare Dungeon required five times more people as sacrifices. 
Once the frequency of sacrifice was shortened from the original twelve hours to six hours, or even one hour, that Nightmare Seed would be judged as losing control.
A hundred lives in an hour? Which era was this mass grave from? 
Luckily, Tapir wasn't serious. It knew that it wasn't a good thing if humans suffered heavy losses.
"But don't worry, Mr. Zhao. The harm brought by death in the battle royale game is much lower than that in the death tower. This, I can assure you on my reputation," said Tapir. 
"How is that possible?"
Zhao Yanqing didn't understand. People died in the nightmare anyway. How was getting shot in the battle royale game different than being mashed by the triggers in the death tower? 
"I wasn't willing to believe it before, but it turns out it's feasible. It'll be enough as long as some of you truly enjoy the carnage in this nightmare from the bottom of their hearts," the Lord of Nightmare, Tapir, said as it glanced at Qiu Ren.
Tapir didn't believe Qiu Ren before when he said "some people would be addicted to this nightmare". Even if that was true, they would be some bloodthirsty murderers.
However, facts proved that they didn't have to be murderers. Most people, who understood the rules of the battle royale game, would get addicted to it. Those who weren't might be too afraid of pain and death. 
After balancing pain and death, quite a few people would grow a fancy to the game's charm. 
"…" Zhao Yanqing didn't answer. Even though he didn't want to admit it, there was nothing he could refute.
"Mr. Zhao, this is the reward for the final winner. Congratulations on surviving till the end in this battle royale with a hundred people. You successfully… got the wreath of laurel for 'eating the chicken.'" 
Tapir didn't continue this topic. It directly gave Zhao Yanqing the reward of eating the chicken. The reward certainly wasn't really a plate of fragrant roasted chicken, though.
It was a light golden seed instead.
A Dream Seed!
This might be the best reward for the Dream Explorers to get after exploring a nightmare. It was also the most important reason why the Dream Explorers risked their lives to get into the Level S Nightmare Dungeon.
Creation Points weren't the only things Dream Makers needed when they built a dream. If they wanted to create extraordinary dreams like science fiction or magic, they would need Dream Seeds as the foundation. 
The strength of the Dream Seeds was divided into Level E to Level SS. The stronger the Dream Seed was, the more powerful the characters in the created Dream Dungeon were.
The one Tapir took out as a reward was a Level C Dream Seed. It was a valuable strategic resource in the current market.
Or, without any exaggeration, any Dream Seed was a strategic resource for the country. They were as important as oil and rare minerals in this world!
Zhao Yanqing could only accept this Level C Dream Seed. Afterward, he looked at Qiu Ren again, as if he wanted to take him out of this nightmare.
"I still have things to talk to him about. Mr. Zhao, please go back now."
Tapir clapped again, and Zhao Yanqing suddenly woke up from the nightmare. He opened his eyes. The surroundings had turned back into the medical monitoring room in Fengdu Prison.
Only the shimmering Level C Dream Seed in his hands told him that everything that happened just then was real.
"You're awake? Have you talked to the Lord of Nightmare? What's its decision?"
Kan Shaoni and the other Dream Explorers of Fengdu Prison immediately surrounded him and asked.
"Tapir decided… to keep that nightmare built by the student for a long time." Zhao Yanqing spat out the bad news with a heavy tone.
This was bad news no different from the sky falling for the staff members in Fengdu Prison. 
Some Dream Explorers couldn't even control themselves. They sat on the ground with a desperate look that said, "We're doomed!"
In the meantime, another bad news came to the monitoring room.
"Chief! The death row prisoners who came out of the Nightmare Dungeon have started a riot!" a prison guard rushed into the monitoring room and yelled.
"A riot? They still have the energy to riot? Grab those guys and throw them all back to the Nightmare Dungeon!" Kan Shaoni said.
"Well… Chief, the reason why they started a riot is that they want to return to that Nightmare Dungeon." The prison guard said, "Many of those death row prisoners shouted things like they want to go back to eat the chicken once they woke up." 
Hm? Kan Shaoni was dumbfounded once she knew the situation. She looked at Xiao Zhou next to her.
She could still assume that Xiao Zhou's masochistic attributes had been awakened when he mumbled about going back to the Nightmare Dungeon to continue eating the chicken. Yet, those death row prisoners also wished to return there to eat chicken. What exactly was going on? 
A mass transmission of masochistic infectious diseases?
Kan Shaoni might not be able to understand. When Xiao Zhou thought he wouldn't have the chance to experience the excitement of eating the chicken anymore, he had already reached a state in which "his heart had been taken away by the chicken and he wouldn't be able to have emotions again his entire life."
However, once he learned that the battle royale game had become a long-term item, he couldn't help but clench his fists and show a "Yay!" expression on his face. 
So, how was that chicken cooked? Was it steamed or braised? Why did it have so much charm to make so many people want to try it regardless of their lives?


This is a strange world where everyone can build Dream Dungeons.
Qiu Ren also becomes one of the many Dream Makers.

"Maybe I can figure out how to command the domain sphere in this way."
With this idea in mind, he quickly looked at the lengthened sigils around the sphere.
With the previous experience, decrypting the sigil was a lot faster this time. Within an hour, he successfully made out the implication of the first incomplete model, which was "bind".
As the name implied, it was used for binding energy forms. This was what he used earlier to restrict nightmare energy and send them to activate the zoning crystals.
He wondered if he could use this model to bind other forms of energy. He decided to do some tests about this when he returned to reality.
The next model he reached, however, puzzled him for good.
"Bind" made a lot of sense because the sigils around the domain sphere obviously meant to trap the sphere in place.
But the second model was "dissolve", which didn't sit well in this context.
He attempted to activate the "dissolve" effect to see what would happen, and he immediately regretted it.
The locked domain sphere visibly shrank in size as shiny shards fell off from it and dissipated into the environment.
Meanwhile, he received "feedback" from the effect. It seemed the "dissolve" function removed some power from the domain sphere and returned it to the dream wasteland.
He stopped the effect as soon as he saw the sphere losing its mass. Yet it still lost a portion of the domain power it contained. Thankfully, the power did not scatter randomly into the Dream Realm. It joined the dream wasteland, which meant he could find it again later.
After making sure the "dissolve" effect was switched off, he proceeded to check the next model. Something told him that this would be the final answer he was searching for.
Similar to before, the third model was also an imperfect one that could attach to the previous two.
It was "fusion".
By "dissolving" power and then "fusing" it elsewhere, the sigil would help him transfer the ownership of the domain sphere onto himself, by which time he would gain full control over the dream wasteland.
More importantly, the "fusion" model answered his call just fine instead of remaining still.
Excited, he kept looking further to find whether there was a fourth model connected to them.
However, he was a little disappointed when he was brought to the fourth and even the fifth model, which were "tunnel" and "door" again.
He couldn't activate the door or look beyond to check the next model, which was no longer a surprise.
"So… this sigil fixes the domain sphere here and consumes its power while also connecting it to a nightmare tunnel?"
Every sigil he checked until now ended up at an unmoving door that was likely to be connected to the Nightmare Realm. Perhaps all the sigils followed certain rules defined by the Nightmare Realm.
He got a feeling that he had to fully accept everything Shava wanted to give him, in order to fully comprehend the sigils.
Though this definitely sounded like a bad idea.

After resting his mind for a while, he reactivated the "dissolve" effect and tried to accept the domain sphere.
Since the sphere was the embodiment of this piece of nightmare domain as well as the dream wasteland itself, he had to succeed to become the true owner of this place.
As soon as he saw the sphere dropping fragments, he immediately canceled "dissolve" and went for "fusion" to embrace whatever was scraped off.
It was a bad move.
Telling from the overwhelming power, which should be a portion of the domain sphere, he realized that the dream wasteland was HUGE. It was several times bigger than the nightmare interlayer that contained Sleepless City, and it was larger than any of the existing nightmare domains Sunders described in The Mystery of Nightmare Domain. His "castle hall" domain was tiny compared to this one.
He felt his head bulging with pain when only several particles of the sphere entered his body. But giving up now meant he had to discard what came off the domain sphere to the dream wasteland, again. He had to hold on.
At the end of the searing outpour, he felt that he managed to grasp a complete "privilege" under his command. 
"Ack. Thank goodness I didn't swallow the domain sphere by normal means…" 
He didn't have any time to examine what he just received before his consciousness slipped away.
Absorbing part of the domain drained him greatly. If someone were here to look at his body in reality, they would see Angor bleeding from his nostrils, while his skin gained an unhealthy sheen.
As Angor's bodyguard, Toby had spent a month in boredom, during which he tried to kill time by any means he could think of, including dropping everything in his Snowy Feather storage onto the ground and picking them back up.
Dried fish, animal suits, several tiny beds and blankets, and a strange skull he took from the dark island, which had stopped glowing for some reason. 
Toby was quite shocked when he suddenly smelled blood coming from Angor's position. Without minding the items, he quickly dived back into the illusion.

Angor was having a dream. But he wasn't sure whether it was a dream at all. 
He found his vision shifting to a different place after he gained the new power. He felt his sight expanding far and wide until he could observe the entire dream wasteland as well as the unknown darkness beyond its boundary.
There, he saw something hideous.
The wasteland didn't appear as big when he could watch it in a bird's-eye view. However, beyond the wasteland and inside the dark distance, a gigantic creature more immense than the land itself was silently gazing at the wasteland using its golden, slit-pupil eyes. In fact, that eyeball alone already looked more sizable than the dream wasteland.
Angor didn't know what that was, but he could somewhat tell that the unknown creature was trying to reach the dream wasteland. It didn't do so yet because there was another figure with blond hair standing in its way.
The blond individual looked not much different from a common human. No bigger than a scrap of dust, if compared to the towering monster ahead. Yet there he stood, quietly but surely blocking the monster's advance.
Angor finally understood why the dream wasteland was so empty and without any other intruders when a nightmare interlayer was supposed to attract all sorts of monsters from the Nightmare Realm. This was all because someone was protecting it.
Right now, he could see the blond figure speaking to the monster as if they were negotiating. Although he couldn't make out any sound.
Slowly, the monster closed its golden eyes and backed away, until it fully disappeared into the unending darkness beyond.
Next, the floating stranger turned around and looked at the dream wasteland, silent as he always was.

Nightmare and the rest stares in shock as D starts to float towards them. Dust reacts quickly and shot 4 giant gaster blasters trying to kill him quickly as possible. Only to be stopped by a enormous green barriar that stretched through the entire plain. The skeletons looked up at the gaint wall and for the fist time felt scared.

"What the hell is this!" Nightmare yelled out, D watched as he moved his hand forward. In response the entire giant green wall slowly moved forward.

"You got to be kidding me, how is this gonna kill us?" Dust said as looks at the approuching wall in amusement . Killer felt an dangerous feeling behind him and turned around.

"Uh... guys? I think you should see this" Killer said as he trembles in fear. The rest of skeletons turned around and saw another giant wall moving towards them. There wasn't one wall, but two. Horror looks back and forth looking how to get out of this mess, Nightmare just sighs.

"Although this is an abnormal attack, we can just teleport out side of it, otherwise we would be squished like a sandwich" Nightmare said, The other 4 skeleton then had the same realization but one skeleton had trouble.

"Uh boss... I can't teleport, I lost that ability" Killer said causing everyone including D to look at him witha deadpan stare. Nightmare just sighs and picks up killer with one tentacle causing killer to cry out in joy. The rest also teleported out of the death zone only to have 4 green walls falling down on top of them. When everyone dodge however they then realize dozens of yellow gaster blasters encircled them.

Back then before he actived his green soul he had a limited magic compacity, he didn't want to waste any magic. But now that his compacity skyrocketed, being multiplied tens of almost hundreds of times he can afford this without ease. The Bad Guys had sweat dripping down their faces as they can tell this will be a hard battle.

Horror was the first to attack by throwing two cleavers that rapidly grew to a size of a basket ball court. Nightmare, killer, and Dust quickly fire gaster blasters behind with Cross throwing several giant red knives. However all of these attacks where blocked by one shield as D responded with an attack of his own. He spammed gaster blasters at them which caused them to seperate. Nightmare seeing this tried to call out and group together but was interrupted by one of my own unique attacks.

 Multiple cracks appeared around them, the next moment they bursted open with bones spewing out like a fountain. Blue bones, orange bones, and white bones rained upon the plain as the skeletons try to dodge or block the attacks. Nightmare tried to attack again by not sending four black inky missiles, but 8. The ink crashed into the shield making it stained with a black inky substance blocking D's sight. The bad skeletons took this as a chance to regroup and attack again.

Killer tried to slash at my shield with his knife causing a few tiny scratches that instantly repair. Horror did the same and got the same result. They moved back as they planned their next move. They started attacking again by changing their strategy with Dust attacking first this time with Killer and Horror being assistance. Dust fired a giant gaster blaster and summoned a big red trident to his hand and struck down the shield. If this was a normal monsters trident attack then it wouldn't be able to get through D's shield. However this is Asgore attack which have the ability to even break the buttons of the menu screen making it possible to break through D's shield.

D knew this and dodge to the side and endured Horror and Killer's attacka instead barely causing damage to his shield again. Nightmare instantly notived this and ordered Dust to keep attacking with Asgore's trident. D actually had to dodge now casuing morale to rise between the skeletons. But soon crushed with D multiple smaller green walls and knockes the trident out of Dust's hands by moving them with high speeds. Dust reaches for the trident however was block by a green sphere that encased the trident. This was useless as Dust just teleports inside and back. This was one shortcoming of D's capabilities, Although his ability is devastating for those who can't teleport, if they can his ability is almost useless. The benifit is the fact that D's basically immortal with the constant healing from magic green which is in overdrive. Nightmare orders the group to gather up again and the atmosphere grew to a stalemate. Both parties watch eachother with a deep gaze, like trying to pryout every single secret deep into the their bones.

The silence embrace the fields again as a silent wind fill the battlefield. The giant green walls were gone but they still did a considerable amount of damage to the plains. 

This silence however was broken as a white portal appeared as three figured step out of the portal. Blue immediately saw D and ran over and wanted to hugged him, but was stopped by a green forcefield. D seeing this took away this shield but quickly regrets it as he didn't notice the purple bones that popped up behind him. D raised his shield(the giant shield on his left arm) and blocked the deadly bones. Nightmare couldn't let this chance go as he attacks D from behind, only to meet several blue arrows penetrating his body. Nightmare grunts as he looks at his brother with a menacing glare.

"What are you doing here? This is not your business" Nightmare said with a dark tone, Ink puts a hand on his brush prepared for any attack.

"He has joined the star sanses, of course we are involved" Dream said, Nightmare grits his teeth in anger. Although he did expect the possibility that D join the star sanses but he didn't think would be true!

"Damn you! I will come back and have my answer one way or another" Nightmare said grabbed all the bad skeletons and teleported away with a reluctant Cross. Blue then immediatly run at me again and gives me a warm tight hug.

"Wuahhhh! I thought you were a goner!" Blueberry cried as crystal blue tears pour out of his eye sockets. D just pats his head gently under the watch of Ink and Dream.

"Wow... I didn't Blueberry would get this close to stranger so fast" Dream said in astonishment. D also agreed in his heart, he also felt that this relationship has gone too fast. If Blueberry was a female then everything would make sense since the he would charmed by his 'Love' skill, but Blueberry is a male. In D's mind males shouldn't be affected by his skill Love, unless they are... D was then hit by a sudden realization, Blueberry was 100% gay.

However he didn't let Blueberry leave his embrace, he is not gay but couldn't let this little blue munchkin be sad. He has a weak spot for cuteness and Blueberry perfectly hits that weakspot. Dream and Ink smiled as D continues to pet Blueberry till D then remembers what Ink said earlier.

"I got a question... When did I join the Star Sanses?" D asked, causing several drops of sweat to roll down Ink's skull.

"Ink, I thought you said he agreed to join the Star Sanses?" Dream said in a confused tone, this caused even more drops of sweat to roll down Ink' skull. Blueberry then looked up from D's embraced with a few tears in his eyes.

"You didn't join the Star Sanses?" Blueberry asked in a sad tone. This caused D's soul to warm up a little and form a conflict. What D wants to do is to be lazy all the time without a care in the world and spend time with friends and family. If he joined the Star Sanses however, he has to regularly fight the Bad Guys and other foes and have to cook for them all the time. The deciding factor here is Blueberry, if Blueberry wasn't apart if this he immediatly say no, but if he says no this adorable puffball will cry and make him feel guilty. D sighs as he made an answer.

"I am part of the Star Sanses" D says in defeat, Blueberry immediatly smiles and bury himself back into D's embrace. Dream and Ink smile with Ink gives an official greeting.

"Welcome to the Star Sanses"

The game undertale and the picture is not own by me, also its an AU not the original universe, so if something doesen't make sense, in this universe it does. P.s.s. I am also going to put in some love scenes, but the thing is, I don't think it's rated 18, but rated 13 since there is kissing since the main characer is a skeleton.)(A/N:My goal is at least 100 chapters.)

This story is about a 18 year old boy reliving his past memories, hopes, and dreams he had when he was young. Only for him to realize that his final wish came true. With his imagination and power in his hands, he will protect his universe at all costs. Just to relive his fantasy.

"I'm...dreaming?" Catherine replied. 

The scene around her suddenly got blurry as memories rushed into her mind. Everything became clear, her mission, Joshua, the lab they were in and the fact that Jacques spent all his time in the dream world. She nodded to Jacques as she entered the state of lucid dreaming. 

"It took me a while to find you. That's quite the location your group has found," he told her. 
The area began to shake as Catherine's dream was falling apart. She remained calm as this has happened before. However, before her dream completely shattered and she entered the bizarre dream world Jacques waved his hand and interrupted the process. When he did that, she noticed blood was dripping from his arm. 

"Are you all right?" she asked.
"It's nothing, don't worry. However, it's probably better if we don't leave your dream for now. There is something ...troublesome just outside of here," he explained.
"Troublesome? What do you mean?"
"There is a wandering nightmare lurking around you. It attacked me when I tried to enter your dream," he said while showing his arm. 
He had obviously waited to short the wound before healing himself. He was currently a soul projection so by pouring some energy in it, his arm quickly healed. 
"A wandering nightmare? You mentioned those last time too. What exactly are they?" 

Jacques took a deep breath and explained: 
"Well, you're without a doubt familiar with regular nightmares, they're just bad dreams. Nearly all nightmares enter this category. However, there are times when a nightmare can get out of hand. Usually, they appear as a result of high stress or anxiety. Feeding on those bad emotions, they take their time to grow strong. The bad dream becomes recurring while floating around its victim when they're awake. In the most extreme cases, the dreamer could end up dying of a heart attack. When that happens, the nightmare becomes free to roam this world, occasionally finding a new victim."

Catherine scratched her head upon hearing this.  
"I see. And the one right outside of here?" 
"He's roaming around you. Tell me, did you have any nightmare recently?" 
"No, I've been sleeping normally…" she answered and bit her nail. 
Considering the recent events, Joshua must be the one plagued by bad dreams. Come to think of it, he had been working non-stop for days now. Of course, he technically doesn't need to sleep, but resting is still beneficial for spirits. She needed to have a talk with him. The problem was he still didn't want to talk about the incident with Delilah. 

Jacques seemed to understand what she was thinking about. 
"If your spirit is the one plagued by nightmares, the situation is a bit different. He obviously can't die of a heart attack but the nightmare could end up consuming him."  

Catherine nodded in reply. 
"Thank you for the advice. I'll take care of it. However, you still haven't told me what you're doing here. I doubt you just want to say 'hello'. Tell me, are you in need of assistance?" she asked, somewhat worried.  

Hearing this, Jacques' expression became grim. 
"You're right, we did indeed run into an unexpected situation. Actually, Vera and Edward's group are in the same boat as mine.  You probably lucked out finding this place and waiting for a bit. Otherwise, you would most likely have ended up like us by now." 

Catherine was shocked hearing this and instinctively put her hand in front of her mouth. Of the four teams that were sent, only hers was still all right. 

"What happened exactly? Did you encounter a terrible foe and are gravely injured?" 

Jacques shook his head. 
"The good news is, we're all unharmed for now. However, we've been taken captive somewhere."
"By whom?" 
"I have no idea… I see you're confused. Let me start from the beginning. Starting from the surface, my group followed the road underground for several weeks. We had a few incidents involving local creatures but nothing major. Then one day, we exited the labyrinth of rocks that was leading us downwards and came out in a massive area."
"You mean the forest we found?" 
"Not at all. It was a massive cave, a large open space going on for kilometers. We thought we were on the right track and ventured into it. A few hours later, there was an earthquake, you probably felt it too."
"We did indeed, it covered the passage we were taking but created a new one leading to the forest."
"Is that so? Maybe you lucked out then. In any case, we took cover since rocks were falling from the ceiling. I later learned from Edward that the earthquake was provoked by the battle between his group and a creature. They vanquished it eventually but our trouble started soon after. You see, as we progressed, we eventually saw what appeared to be the ruins of a city in the distance. Everyone rejoiced as we thought we were about to reach our destination. However, as we got closer, we were all suddenly overcome by a massive headache and eventually fell unconscious."
"A headache?" 
"To be more precise, I felt it here," Jacques clarified while moving his hair a bit to point a portion of his forehead.
As Catherine looked at the spot he pointed, she seemed to realize something. 
"I see, what happened afterward?" 
"Well, initially, I found myself plunged into a dream, but as you know, yours truly is a master at being active while I'm asleep. I, therefore, managed to become lucid and broke out my dream bubble. In the meantime, my body had been moved. I had been placed in a strange container full of green liquid with some bizarre tube connected to my face that allowed me to breathe. Looking around, I saw not only my teammates but also Vera and Edward's party. I entered their dreams and learned they had gone through a similar ordeal than me. Together we tried to establish a plan. At first, I tried to break us free but even for me waking up was impossible. "
"What about your Guardians?"
"I don't know what happened to them. I can still feel my connection to Ferry but I'm unable to tell you where he is… Anyway, seeing that you were absent, we hoped you hadn't been captured yet. I'm glad we were right about this. Vera suggested I leave the place we were in to find you but my spirit couldn't leave the room we were in, I don't know why."

Catherine recalled the walls of the lab, Joshua mentioned that due to runes, he couldn't pass through them, even in spirit form. 
"But…if that's the case, how did you get here and how did you find me?" she asked, considering the glaring hole that had appeared in Jacques' story. 
"Honestly, I was getting desperate. But be it either luck or fate, an opportunity appeared tonight. It's thanks to your dream just now. You see, my dream technique allows me to roam in the dream world, but it has another advantage: if someone dreams about me, I can establish a connection with them. When you dreamt about the party from a few months ago, my presence in the dream allowed me to let my spirit be guided in your direction. I would normally have been teleported in your dream directly, but the wandering nightmare intercepted me at the last moment. I managed to shake it off and entered this dream."
"This sounds a bit too good to be true…" 
"Catherine, Catherine, Catherine… You should know by now. I'm the luckiest man alive! No matter the situation, an opportunity always presents itself to me!"

Catherine smiled vaguely. 
"If you say so. In any case, you want my help, I presume?"
"If possible, yes. But don't endanger yourself. If you get too close to the city, the same thing will happen to you. If you don't find a solution, head back to the surface to get reinforcements." 
"Anything else you can tell me?"
"I'm afraid not, I've never seen who took us there and the room we're in is sealed."
"I see. I'll do what I can but I can't promise you anything I'm afraid."
"Ha! Don't worry, that's already an improvement. Your help is appreciated!" Jacques replied and added: "I believe our time is up. Contacting people from far away drains my energy much faster, I should head back toward my body."
"Don't lose hope. We'll come for you!" Catherine told him as his body began to vanish.
 
Jacques just had the chance to wave her goodbye before disappearing completely. As for Catherine, she forced herself to wake up, considering what she had just learned, she could no longer afford to relax in the lab. 

Catherine opened her eyes and quickly stood up. She asked Luna for the time, it was close to 7 in the morning. She was a bit groggy so she splashed her face with water. She thought about immediately talking to Joshua but Jacques' warning about the nightmare haunting him made her reconsider. Instead, she headed to the bathroom and took a shower. While washing herself,  she wondered how to best approach the situation. About 10 minutes later, she put clean clothes on and exited the place. She had concluded that a direct approach might be a bad solution so she would carefully bring up the subject. 

When she entered Joshua's soul world, she realized all the ice had vanished and the place had been patched up. She headed for the lab, expecting to find him there but the place was empty. She then saw him a bit further up and headed in his direction. She frowned a bit seeing him in action. Joshua was dressed bizarrely. His head was covered by a beret and he was wearing a shirt with diamond-like motives. His pants had been replaced with a short and his socks were matching his shirt.  He was holding a metal stick and was hitting a ball with it, trying to knock it into a hole. It looked like some sort of game. Catherine asked Luna what that was and the system replied to her 'miniature golf'. Also smoke was coming out of an object he had in his mouth.

Joshua noticed her, took out the cigar out of his mouth and smiled.
"Good morning! You're up early!" he said.
"You seem to enjoy yourself. I thought you would still be in the middle of blowing stuff up."
Joshua grinned, hit the ball with his golf club and put it in the hole.
"I just wanted to be… par with the course," he replied, giggling like an idiot. 
"... What?"
"Nevermind. The truth is I just finished my experiment a few moments ago, so I was waiting for you to wake up and inform you about the situation."

Catherine was a bit surprised, she didn't expect him to finish so soon, considering how damaged his world was when she went to sleep. She smiled at him and told him: 
"I also have important news to report to you." 
"Good, let's exchange information then."
Catherine decided to go first. Ignoring the nightmare situation, she began by recounting Jacques' visit in her dream. Joshua listened with care as he waited for her to finish.
"That spot he mentioned his headache was occurring when he fell asleep..." he began. 
"I'm fairly sure it's the spot the rune in our brain is located." Catherine completed his sentence. 
"Hmm, this is troublesome. It seems that rune acts as some sort of security system that activates once you get close to the city." 
"If that's the case, then Boris should be the only one able to enter since the rune in his body has been destroyed, right?" she asked.
"For the time being, yes."
"For the time being? You mean… you have a way to remove it from our brains?"
"Not currently but thanks to all our recent discoveries, we should be able to design a countermeasure to it."
"So…, you're gonna mess with our brain?" Catherine asked, half-joking.
Joshua shook his head. 
"No, but you are."

After dying, our main character found himself summoned by a young woman. She comes from a long line of summoners and had expected to partner up with a powerful being, like the rest of her family. Instead, she summoned a computer programmer, who from now on will be living inside her head. Powerless, he's unable to help her with the upcoming war. Disappointed that neither of them had been blessed by fate with some divine abilities, he decides to build a computer system inside her head himself.
