Today was to be an important day, seven years of work's completion. Stephen Umber, 57 years old, and team leader for the design team which currently surrounded him was watching as his team moved the bare car chassis that was the culmination of their work to the center of the work shop. Having been an engineer for 31 years Stephen had experienced many similar events, when the ultimate goal was on the cusp of being achieved, however he believed this was most likely to be the most significant. The new engine could use a special hydrocarbon fuel, scientists had recently developed that could be efficiently produced from water that was in the presence of a carbon dioxide containing atmosphere. This new engine combined with the fuel making process would remove the necessity of batteries being used by cars, it was a matter of international importance. The team finished setting up the new engine in its chassis. 

"You do the honours, Stephen" says the deputy head with a jovial cheer. 

He hands Stephen the small control box with a large red button. With great excitement all the team looks on excitedly as Stephen presses down the button, the sound of the motor turning over a little sounds out before BOOM! an explosion rocks out from the engine shrapnel blasting outwards. All Stephen sees is a bright flash before a large chunk of his life's greatest achievement flies through his head killing him instantly.

Suddenly, a teenage boy sits up in his bed breathing heavily having just woken from a nightmare. He looks at his hands confused and down along his toned body before looking even more confused around the large room. 

'Where am I?' Stephen thinks to himself noticing the large opulent room and feeling the smooth and soft silk sheets against his oddly young body. 

Another thought comes to his mind 'who am I?' 

As the thought comes to his mind a pain racks through his head and he grips his temples fighting the pain. Many memories belonging to someone else rushes through his head, "Alexander Halgran? Is that my name? Or the name of the previous owner of this body?". 

Stephen sits on the bed thinking over the memories in his head, Alexander, a prince of the Kingdom of Halgran, the third prince. Alexander doesn't seem to be particularly famous, a minor military career, not bad nor great, and a similar diplomatic career. An unexceptional prince. From the memories it seems that the King is deathly ill... this nation's inheritance laws not handing the kingship to the eldest son or anything similar, instead after every king dies the nation is almost always embroiled into civil war as the princes compete for rule. 

Stephen knows this doesn't bode well for him. 'I may as well sleep and deal with this in the morning...' Stephen thinks before drifting off to sleep.

Beams of light drift down onto Alexander Halgran, who is now seemingly inhabited by Stephen Umber. Stephen, no Alexander woke up at this bright light and attempted to sit up in his bed only to find himself currently pinned by a large black shape. The large black shape raises its head revealing it to be a large wolf like dog, currently resting its large torso on his chest. Alexander almost has a heart attack from fear before recognition comes across him followed by another rush of memories belonging to the previous Alexander, who was who was very confusing for poor Stephen/Alexander. 

"Lucio…" Alexander whispers extending his one free hand towards the large dog, its eyes immediately responding to its name. 

The dog stretches its head towards the hand with a gentleness defying its large menacing appearance. Alexander now remembers Lucio, his dog who had been with him/ the old Alexander for most of their lives. 

"Well Lucio… this is all very confusing…" he remarks to Lucio more for his own benefit then the now slightly confused dog. 

As Alexander looked at the dog the doors to his bedchamber burst open.
"Prince Alexander!? Are you awake!?" calls out a young woman clearly a maid and clearly a little older than Alexander.

Alexander responds nervously, "Um… yes…" and awkward silence embroils the whole room before he realises his mistake. 

"Yes, I am awake, Maria" he says in a voice filled with new-found confidence and a slight tinge of bravado attempting to mimic the old Alexander, "Why have you burst into my room so rudely? What is going on?"

Slightly breathless Maria responds quickly stammering slightly, "The king, his majesty, has summoned you, your highness and the princes to the throne room."

Maria draws a deep breath before calmly continuing, "I do not know why he summons, only that you only have a very short amount of time to be present."

Numerous thoughts rush through Alexander's head as he considers the possibilities, the king, as everyone knows, isn't far from death, this could be an announcement relating to his inheritance. Alexander feels his palms become sweaty as he gently but also quickly shoves the hulking form of Lucio off of him. 

"Leave now" he orders hurriedly to Maria, and as soon as she leaves he rushes around the room attempting to use his memories to find his clothes and remember how exactly some of the more complex, unusual and ceremonial articles go on. 

After getting fully dressed he fumbles with his sword belt attempting to correctly attach his sabre. 

"Stay Lucio, you can't come with me" he quickly says to the confused dog which has been watching him from his bed this whole time, before rushing out of the room and towards the throne room. 

Almost running through the corridors Alexander finds himself almost bumping into many of the servants going about their morning duties. Eventually he reaches the large foyer to the throne room where he can see his siblings all patiently waiting seemingly having been given more notice than him.

"Ah, Alexander, you have finally arrived" quietly calls Percible in a snickering voice, his thin body and dark complexion making him look the part of the schemer that he is. Percible the second prince had earned his fame as had their older brother and Alexander during the Great Magic War, Percible as a cunningly backstabbing diplomat. 

'Wait!' thinks Alexander, 'Magic!? That exists here!? What is this Dungeons and Dragons!?'. 

Alexander had many fond memories of Dungeons and Dragons from his previous life, he was 13 when first edition had been released, and he had loved it despite that early version's numerous flaws. Now as Alexander compared what he remembered about the world of Dungeons and Dragons and this new place he was in the similarities were striking. Most notably the existence of dwarves, elves and goblins, each of these races having been important in the Great Magic War, when humanity had pushed for more territory invading each of those races.

A deep and strong voice reached Alexander's ears, "uh, brother you are here. I do wish father is well" when Alexander looked towards the stoic man who was the source of his voice he saw his eldest brother, first prince of Halgran, Ildan, a famed military leader. 
"Hello brothers, do either of you know why father has called us?" Alexander politely responds, to which Percible just shrugs and Ildan shakes his head looking at the ground with concern.

The large doors of the throne room swing open, standing looking at the three princes stands the king's advisor, Darius.

"Come now, princes, the king will not be awake long" Darius says quickly before immediately turning around and walking down the long length of the throne room.

Waiting down the far end of the throne room upon a throne of massive proportions covered in copious amounts of gold that raises him far above everyone else in the room. The trio of princes quickly follow the adviser and each knelt in front of the large throne. Now closer to the throne Alexander noticed an old and wizened man sitting just behind the throne, 'this man is the wizard working to keep my father alive' thinks Alexander.

"Welcome my sons" says the king in a high reedy voice week from age and disease, "I have called you hear today because I fear for my kingdom, and for you my sons. For three generations only one prince has been present for the death of the previous king, and during this time our great kingdom has flourished. And yet here we are, on the brink of repeating the scenario that destroyed this city five generations ago. As such, to any of you my sons, who are willing to renounce your inheritance I will grant a governorship over part of the new and prosperous lands each of you had a hand in cleansing of the goblin filth."

Alexander realizing this is the exact opportunity he has been looking for to save his life faced with an impending war immediately shouts, "My lord father, I will renounce my title of prince and accept your offer, I have no intentions upon the throne."

The king's smile grows, only one more of his sons needs to accept his offer now and the kingdom will be saved from ruin.

"Father", a snickering voice calls out, "I will not be denied my birth right to fight for the crown, if my brothers wish to give it to me, then that will be fine." Concludes Percible.

The king appears to visibly age and peers over to Ildan a last glimmer of hope burning in his eyes, "Ildan, what about you my son?" he asks deeply concerned.

Ildan sighs heavily, a deep burden resting upon him, "father, I am beloved by the people, a hero of the war. I could not in good conscience leave the kingdom to Percible. Our traditions exist in order to choose the strongest king."

The king's visage grows dark, he slumps back into his throne, wrinkles appearing to grow on his face. After some time of just looking up at the portraits of previous kings and paintings of battle scenes on the ceiling he finally speaks again, "Alexander, you are no longer a prince of this realm, but you are now baron of the town of Sapphire Lake. Take with you fifty thrones of gold and choose an advisor from the Presidium, a clerk should do. Also, Mondaeus will go with you." 

The weakened king then turns to Darius, "see to it that all of this is done and that Alexander leaves on a river galley tomorrow." Turning away from Darius back towards his sons he concludes saying, "my kingdom, my life's achievement will be destroyed but so be it. Leave now, and you who are still princes do not look at me again until… until I am in my coffin."

Alexander is the first to rise and bow quickly leaving the throne room.

A talented Engineer reborn into a classic fantasy world? The sky's the limit in this New World Of Steel! At least for now, after all, I doubt a human lifetime is long enough to develop space flight from a feudal society... or is it!? Find out as the story progresses.

King Gp the 2nd cheerful one but on her story shes not ambush shes not even one of the victims, but she was my bestfriend when the times i was at the start of my business so i dont know but i trust her and tell my past then she agreed to my idea even if its illegal her family business are legals but we need to business with blackmarket so we can join in a mafia so that was the time we join we put drugs secretly but ofcourse again we secretly we help people, so our conscience would be better its like were attacking and defending. Then on Gp's side when we start she entered and with friends her trusted bestfriend on her youth King ed who was innocently just a teacher that time and now she was part of a mafia group and handles the security team.

King Gail or Axis who was just a DJ on there club yes the owner is them Gp,edda and stephen and now she is one of the prosecutor with Zairen giving punishment to the members that violated the rules.

King Stephen 2nd to Zairen who is silent type but with full of question a trusted one of bestfriend of king Gp, i was thankful to Gp so much to introducing them to me shes just the manager on there build club.

Its like i hit 4 stones in one swift moment, i smiled and glance at the screen and there was King Jade our Queen the most precious one yes she was now alone cuz she was one of the victims like me also, yes her family was so wealthy that even if your not gonna work your whole life your still millionaire, but at the age of 10 she saw how her family was torment in her own very innocent eyes thank god they have a security alert and the police and NBI rescue her but its kinda late almost of them died.

I smirk then cross my legs "ofcourse uncle we successfully lure them" i said said then i heard a laugh on her background i guess all of her team to was there, uncle Shinji was the leader of the 2nd Mafia group in the blackmarket when my mom left.

"And Spain headquarters for royalties and outside members are reaching 20 % and the building is finish with in a month now, we agreed to have a titled leaders outside royalties called Empress and Emperors like us Kings inside" Stephen explain then when Uncle Shinji heard it she smile.

"WOW how can my baby shun can think about that and wow your getting international help without your lazy uncle here" a sudden voice resounded on uncle Shin's side and i know that voice its uncle Cassandra it makes us laugh and Uncle Shinji's like here we go again like shes annoyed.

"Uncle Gorgeous Shun is my baby " a pouted jade said and others laugh and even me even aunt laugh.

"i know my pretty baby jade hahaha i was just teasing you" Aunt Cassandra said and she even command Uncle Shinji to move to the side using her hand with a shoo sign in it haha it makes me laugh on how badass my aunt is, Uncle Shinji was terror leader but she was that whipped with aunt

"Anyways ahem hehe i love you love" When aunt cassandra saw how Uncle making face she kiss uncle on the lips that my uncle annoyed face fade see thats how whipped uncle is.

"Anyways my favorite niece" Aunt Cassandra said then i replies "im just your niece Aunt Gorgeous" when she heard it she laugh yes i was just the one, on her side to she didnt have she's an orphan and she likes being called gorgeous cuz yeah she is.

"Well it was a surprise but my wife Cassandra said it so yeah we will go there to celebrate your mom's birthday" Uncle Shinji said and I struck dump how can I forget it but I didnt say anything and just smile damn I don't them to know that I totally forget it.

"How can we celebrate it? Mom is not here.." i said with angry tone, with cold in it they all know the main purpose of my anger.

"Hey we're working on it right it's one of our reasons why we need to destroy them and of course celebrating it without her is okay atleast we didn't forgot it" Uncle Shinji said I understand her because she do always care for mom, and I grip my fist in anger I know it's not that good but I fcking want kill all of them specially they even kidnap my sister that I dear so much, then I got the news that my mom is alive and been kidnapped tsss.

"hey enough of it okay just concentrate on building the biggest empire and we're ready" Uncle Shinji said and I slowly nodded what can I do then right?.

"Anyways I heard that you brought some civilians?" Uncle ask then I nodded, "yes but I didn't know that it will be this time that I take my break" I explained and she nodded,. 

"Its okay but you need to be careful next time Shun" Uncle said in a worried tone, "yes Uncle" I answered.

Then we bid goodbyes and our adorable Aunt Gorgeous didn't want to say goodbye but uncle lift her up, and we laugh how funny they are when they are together.

"So we will leaving here in 1 hr we need to fix the location" I said then they nodded.

"Okay now we go" I said it again and stand up they followed then when we were at exit I heard some laughing and stuff then I saw the other kings left my side and walks to there assigned works.

Then I walk heading to the medical tent.

"aha your ignoring me now my love.. hmmmm" King Shinji said then tickle Brittany and make her laugh.

"Wahhhh ahhaha okay okay I'll call you my love ahahaha noooo" Brittany was laughing so hard that she didn't knew she was genuinely laughing and others heard it and got stunned, even the king's was stunned because for the first time they heard King Shun and Brittany laugh that didn't even care at the others.

"What is that?" King Kenzo ask King GP who was with her, King GP just nodded and smile,. "What's with that expression!" King Kenzo ask when she saw King GP ignore her and shrug.

"Just let them.." King GP just walk and continue her duties, King Kenzo was shock on King GP's reaction she didn't care at all but when King Gp was far from Kenzo she smirk and whispered "I hope she we'll find her happiness.." .

"Did I hear it clearly? King Shun can laugh but not that laugh like there's no tomorrow" King Stephen was so confuse on what she was hearing right now.

"Hey who was laughing so loud?" King Edda ask one of her subordinates who was walking towards them, "Ahmmmm the gossips I heard is that it's King Shun who was laughing with her New Slave Brittany" King Stephen,Edda and Gail look at each other like they didn't believe and was so shock.

"What the actual fck?" King Stephen ask then they smile when they realize something.

If he gave the book to Seth before he could have learnt to become a time demon like The Darkstorm the living planet.


So he decided to hid the book from Seth he kept the book in codein box and neutralize code for the book storage.


Seth was able to have time complexity the constant amount of algorithm required to run, as functions of the forced amount for Seth to input in running Time by the sake of the mysterious time Storm taking him to the past than to read any written book of scientist human figures and knowledge's.


Scheduling week 1: Dr Stephen with his specifications identified solutions to Problem within week one


Week 2: was training Seth into deeper martials art and it's contents likes endurance,durability, basic combat, advance and professionals.


Week 3: Practicing physical and emotional training for subduing all agonies.


Week 4: Time Spiritual naturalism from past to future and presence.


Week 5: Time loopings traveling in snows, moonlight days, dusk, summer, and winters including darkest era's endure.


Week 6: Aura's blasts


And finally reincarnations through telekinetics and transportations or locomotives.


After complete training for Seth once were left time states god before Seth can be time god he should break his limitations from one states to another but it's difficult for an amateur time hero to be time god.


But Seth is old to faced his time enemies(supervillains) and his worsts nemesis.

Stephen could not remember the last time he stepped on the grass. He has grown up differently since they moved to the city with his family. He also did not know when he ran into the forest again while the breeze was still cold. He also could not remember the last time he felt the cold air on his skin even though he was very tired from running since this morning. Panting he returned to the hut where the white wolf was waiting. "How are you?" smiling he greeted Stephen. The boy just smiled back at him and was dying to ask for water from him. After he drank the water, he wiped his sweat and sat down next to the balloon. "Why do I have to run around the mountain? What is it for? We're just going to the island, aren't we?" said the young man. "That's for your training so if something bad happens to you, you can protect yourself," the wolf replied. Stephen glanced at the balloon before returning to rehearsal. He could not figure out why he still had to train if they were going to the island. Stephen stopped practicing when he saw that the trees seemed to be dancing alone. The young man was scared so he went back to the wolf. "What's happening?" the young man asked. "Ah, don't be afraid. It's just Alviary; visiting," the wolf replied as he got up, Stephen pulled him down. "What are you doing? Why are you standing?" Stephen asked. "The strong wind may blow you away," he added. "Just calm down, Stephen. I will just pay tribute to Alviary," said the wolf. "Will you pay tribute? Why?" said the young man. "Ah, we haven't introduced Alviary to you yet," said the wolf. Stephen just nodded when he saw something that looked like a human being but it was surrounded by smoke. The man looks so ethereal. His skin is as rough and stiff as a tree and his hair is as green as moss and its surrounds with butterflies. The young man felt the cold air on his skin so he looked up. She was surprised to see the man approach so she just bowed. The man laughed in front of her and uttered words that Stephen could not understand. After that, the man left and left the two starings blankly. "Who is that?" Stephen suddenly asked. "That's Alviary," the wolf said. "He is the King of Nature," he added. "King of Nature? Is she the wife of Mother Nature?" Stephen asked innocently. Triton laughed at his question and shook his head. "Alviary and Mother Nature are different creatures," Triton replied. "Alviary is the King of Nature on the Eastside, Mother Nature is on the Westside," Triton said as if he was talking to a child. "Who is in the South and North?" Stephen asked again. "Oh, that will be the queen that reigns the Phantom Island," Triton simply answers. Stephen just nodded and thought of going inside the hut to rest when he heard the two old men talking in the kitchen. "Are you losing your mind, Uran?" Laryo shouted softly while Uran was drinking coffee. "Do you think I'm in favor of this plan of mine?" Uran scolded Laryo. "What if Stephen dies before he can trace the island? Why can't the wolf come along?" insisted Laryo. "Are you stupid, Laryo? Have you forgotten the strong smell of the Sluaghs? At the point they can smell Triton, they will start attacking. Especially now that his magic is weak. He can not save Stephen," Uran replied to Laryo. "So it is not possible," he added.
Laryo just sighed. He knew and understood what Uran was up to but he knew it would be more dangerous if only Stephen was going to the island. "Don't worry. We will ask Alviary for guidance and guidance on this journey of Stephen, Laryo," Uran said when he noticed that someone seemed to be listening to the two of them and Laryo. He took a deep breath before saying, "I know you are scared and afraid that you will be harmed if you travel alone. So get out of there and we will talk," he said and laid the empty cup on the table. Stephen got out of his seat and sat in a chair next to the door. The young man bent down and was obviously afraid of what might happen to him once he left the hut. "Am I really the only one leaving?" the young man asked the two adults. Uran just nodded at him and Stephen was even more depressed in his seat. While Uran and Laryo were thinking about what to do. When Stephen suddenly stood up and faced them. "What do I need to do?" the young man suddenly asked. The two elders turned to him. "Wait, are you really going?" Laryo asked in shock. Stephen nodded and called to Triton who was lying outside. "Do you need something?" he asked Stephen. "Do you know where to go to Phantom Island?" Stephen suddenly asked. Triton was surprised so he looked at Laryo and Uran. "W-wait, Stephen. Think about it carefully before you decide," Laryo said nervously. "We will only run out of time if I think about it. You said it yourself, the people of Biringan are already in danger. I want to help," Stephen boldly insisted.
Laryo, Triton, and Uran just sighed because they knew they could do nothing, especially when Stephen's decision to help the people of Biringan was complete. "Oh, all right. After all, you are obviously determined to really go to the island. Remember everything we have to tell you. Especially this trip of yours is not unusual," Laryo threatened Stephen. Stephen nodded resolutely to the old man. "All right, first of all. You need to know who Alviary is first because we will ask him for guidance for your journey," Uran said. Stephen just nodded and sat back in the chair. The old man looked at Triton and smiled, the young wolf sighs in defeat and glared at his elders. "Even though Alviary's story did not have a good start, it still teaches a lesson. That is what Our Lady told us when I was still in Gliffan," the wolf began. "Alviary is known as a valiant soldier who sacrificed himself to save people from a catastrophe in the past. As a tribute to their bereaved hero, they cut a tree who is on the brink of death and buried Alviary's body there," added the wolf. "Since then, he has been appointed King of Nature," said the wolf and looked at Laryo. "Since then, they have believed that the reason why the tree did not die was because of Alviary's body. According to witnesses of the miracle that happened after they buried Alviary, the tree suddenly grew and it had leaves again. And that tree is the path they believe to lead to Biringan," Uran added. 
"King of Nature? Is she the wife of Mother Nature?" the young man asked Triton. Triton laughed at his question. "Mother Nature and Alviary are different creatures. Alviary rules the east and Mother Nature has the west," Triton replied. "Ah, is that so. If so, who rules in the north and south?" Stephen asked. "Ah, that's the Queen that reigns Phantom Island. The one you are going to talk to, the moment you get there," Triton answered. Stephen just nodded when Uran suddenly spoke. "Stand there, child. You still need to practice so that you know how to protect yourself in case something bad happens to you. You will also need to learn how to speak politely and respectfully because we do not know how the new queen of Phantom Island behaves," Uran said. "Have we forgotten anything yet?" he asked Laryo. The old man kept thinking when he suddenly remembered that he had no money to give to the young man. "Uran, fare. He will use other transportation to Phantom Island," the old man suddenly shouted. Uran and Triton's eyes widened at what they heard. Only now do they almost remember that the money used by the people on Phantom Island is not the same. Uran frowned when he suddenly remembered the route the young man would take. "Laryo, the map too. He will need that too," Uran said. As the two adults get distracted, Triton laughs at what is happening to them. He stared at Stephen and he even laughed at the two adults. Triton just sighed and waited for that day to end while wondering if he could ever get back to Biringan alive.

After Minos from the Jackal Bank left, Rubica had trouble focusing on what she was doing. She even poked a finger with her needle, but she didn't notice the finger bleeding. Ann couldn't watch her like that anymore and asked her to take a walk. She knew doing more needlework would end up having all of Rubica's fingers bleeding.
"Shall we?"
Rubica had already taken a walk earlier in the afternoon, but she gladly nodded to Ann. The fresh air that had the scent of flowers made her feel much better.
She walked in the garden, but then she saw Stephen coming out of the lab. He was supposed to be at Edgar's office guarding him, so it was weird he was out here, and he was even staggering a little.
"Doesn't… Sir Stephen look a little strange?"
"Yes, he looks as if someone broke his heart."
Ann replied with curiosity. Thanks to his handsome looks, rank, and excellent swordsmanship, he had been quite popular at Rubica's tea meeting. He had gotten several letters after that, but he refused all the invitations he received and didn't even write back any letters to the lovesick girls.
"So, which girl has made him stagger like that?"
"I don't think that's what this is about."
Rubica quickly stopped Ann's imagination from writing a sad love story. However, what she was thinking wasn't much different from what the others thought.
'Has something happened to him with Edgar?'
He looked so fragile that she just couldn't walk past it. Edgar was now acting sweetly as if he could do anything for her, but how did he act when they first met?
He kept saying and doing horribly arrogant things that completely shrouded his beauty. Stephen must have been hurt by him, and Rubica just couldn't ignore that.
"Wouldn't it be better to call him and find out what it is about?"
"Yes, I think so too. Sir Stephen?"
Ann called his name repeatedly in a loud voice, but Stephen couldn't listen. As he was usually keen even to the smallest sound, it made Rubica even more worried.
"Lord Stephen!"
Ann shouted so loudly that the sound rang through the garden, and Stephen stopped only then. He was a little surprised to see Rubica, but then he quickly wore his usual emotionless expression.
"What is it, madam?"
"Sir Stephen, is there something wrong?"
Ann and Stephen spoke at the same time. He frowned at Ann's question, but only for a second. But sadly, Rubica's maid didn't miss that small change.
"Oh, so something really has happened."
"Is it really a broken heart?"
"Well, it's time for him to fall in love."
The maid's talking eventually made him frown even harder.
"What on earth are you talking about? Do not misunderstand me."
He wanted to say he would leave if that was all, but he just couldn't say that to the duchess.
His knights had changed a lot after the tea meeting, and he wasn't liking the changes. He was also getting several love letters and invitations to meetings, which he didn't welcome at all, so he wasn't glad about such misunderstandings.
"Yes, it must be because of Edgar."
Rubica added that, pitying the knight, but it almost made his eyes come out in shock. Actually, he just had a conversation about the new machine the duke had ordered to be made at the lab.
-Why is this here at the lab?
He was checking on the raw materials that had arrived at the lab, pretending to be on a different errand. There was something that didn't belong there: some smooth and soft fabric.
-It's needed for a new experiment.
-An experiment with fabric… I wonder what you are going to make.
Were they trying to make some kind of special defense suit? He couldn't hide his hope and asked. The duke had stopped working on his blueprint some time ago because of his wife, and Stephen wondered if he had finally come to his senses.
-Oh, the duke is trying to make a machine that cuts fabric cleanly with heat.
As it wasn't any top military secret or something, the engineer answered his question without any doubt. Stephen, however, hadn't seen it coming. A machine that cut fabric cleanly? Why on earth was Claymore trying to make such a thing?
-Why on earth are you making such a machine?
-I don't know either. Anyway, we have to make it as soon as possible since it is the duchess's request.
The moment Stephen heard the word duchess, he almost bit his tongue. It was almost like she was born just to ruin his plan.
The duke had so many things to do. Why was he supposed to waste his time on such a useless thing? He really wanted to accuse the duchess. The engineer could see he was angry and left after murmuring a goodbye. Stephen was supposed to leave as well, but he stood on the spot and stared at the piles of fabrics as they went into the lab for a long, long time.
'I thought he had finally come to his senses, but he is completely out of his mind now.'
The duke had been having trouble focusing on his work for some time. He meddled with something that looks like a toy and came up with a strange tool for needlework. He said he made it because he got some free time, but everyone could see whose heart he was trying to win with it.
Even then, Stephen thought it would be temporary. No, he had hoped it was temporary. The duke had so many projects on his hands. Messengers and letters from the king had gone into his office more than once during the last few days, so the king had to be urging him to come back to his senses.
However, the duke hadn't made that threader as a temporary impulse. Really, he was blinded by love.
"Ha, is he… not going to make it?
When the anger faded, despondency came. He remembered how hard he tried to gain the duke's trust and become his most trusted guard. He already had a lot of information he wanted to steal right now, but he had been waiting only for 'Stella'. However, it looked like he wasn't going to get its blueprint even if he waited for ten years.
'I must calm down and let them know about this.'
Stephen decided to use a messenger bird to let them know about the duke's strange condition and make a new plan about it. He must have been shocked a lot and the way felt so long. He staggered, and then he stopped to take a deep breath.
Then, the duchess and her girls called him and were now talking about love and heartbreak. However, what angered him the most was the duchess's, 'It must be about Edgar.'
'Does she know?'
He got mad and scared at the same time. The duchess looked quite worried about him. Therefore, she carefully said to him, "Do not get too disappointed even if you don't achieve what you want. You know, none of us can always get our ways."
Rubica was sure Stephen liked Edgar. The duke, among so many men in the world… what would happen if that was ever revealed? Although it was about her own husband, she pitied Stephen for it.
"You will get another chance, a better one."
"Your Grace…"
Rubica tried hard to make him feel better, but then she was surprised. He called her with an extremely gloomy and ominous gaze but, contrary to that, there was a blue fire burning hot in his brown eyes. However, considering she was his rival in love, she could understand that.
"You… know?"
Rubica thought about it and then nodded. He had to be in so much pain that he couldn't tell anyone about it, and she pitied him for that.
"Just cheer up."
However, Stephen slapped her hand away and left without saying another word.
"Sir Stephen, how dare you!"
"It's alright, Ann."
Ann was enraged by Stephen's attitude and tried to follow him, but Rubica stopped her.
Stephen was guarding Edgar while hiding his feelings for him, so he had to be in extreme agony. She had asked him to come to her tea meeting without knowing about that. And just as she had expected, he was now getting a lot of attention. Oh, he had to be hating her so much by now, for that and for taking the heart of the man he liked.
'I must pay more attention to him.'
It wouldn't be good for him to keep guarding Edgar. Maybe he would get a little better if he was distanced from Edgar. Rubica didn't know that he was a spy and was completely misunderstanding everything. She also didn't know what her kind consideration was about to bring.

The amazingly handsome, rich and powerful Duke Claymore wants to marry her!?

The servant dropped Tiqa off by the door to her bed room. By her door stood a guard and another servant girl. The guard was 5'8 feet tall, wore a long sleeve white shirt, and black pants. Around his waist was a belt that held daggers and a sword. The servant girl had long red hair and light blue eyes. She wore a light grey dress that cut off just below the knee and that's sleeves cut off around her elbow. The guard bowed, the servant girl curtised, and the servant girl (who escorted Tiqa to her room) left. Tiqa looked down to the floor and the servant girl (who stood by the door) said "hello Princess Tiqa, I'm Elisabeth your personal servant." Tiqa looked up and said "hello." Elisabeth said "come Tiqa we'll get you settled into your room now." Tiqa and Elisabeth entered Tiqa's room and shut the door behind them. Tiqa's room had mint green walls with a light purple flower design painted on one wall. She had a window that had purple curtains and over looked the forest. She had a bed with mint green covers and light gray pillows. On one of her walls hung a picture of a Cross and by her bed was a white bedside table that had a Bible on it. She had a purple desk that had books, notebooks, pencils, and pens on it, and a white vanity that had purple and mint green flower designs on it. On the vanity were brushes, combs, bobby pins, flower pins (for the hair), 2 bottles of perfumes, and rubber bands. In her room she had a walk in closet that was 100 square feet. The closet had 20 pairs of shoes, 40 dresses, 30 pairs of night clothes, 30 bottles of body mists and perfumes, and 20 bottles of lotions. Her room also had a personal bathroom that was over 100 square feet. Her bathroom had white towels hanging up on the towel rack, a marble sink with a cabinet underneath that had a mirror in front of it, a walk in glass shower, a soak in tub, a white toilet, and floors that heated up. The floors were different shades of browns and were stones and the shower walls matched the floors. The walls of the bathroom were were a light beige. 

Tiqa stood by the door looking around her room. Elisabeth said "I know it must be a lot to take in. Especially since you've been in the forest for so long." Tiqa looked at Elisabeth and said "you know about the forest?"  Elisabeth chuckled and said "well of course I do Princess Tiqa. The whole castle knows about it." Tiqa asked "how did they all find out so quickly?" Elisabeth said "well when a new princess in your case princesses come to the castle to live its bound to get around." Tiqa said "good point. Now do all princesses have personal servants?" Elisabeth said "well princesses have servants but as far as a servant like me goes its more of a lady in waiting's job. King Mark put me in charge of acting like your lady in waiting until they actually find you a lady in waiting." Tiqa said "oh," and walked over to her bed. She sat down and Elisabeth asked "is it comfortable, Princess?" Tiqa laid back on the bed and answered "very." Elisabeth said "well I hope everything is to your liking. I hope your very comfortable." Tiqa said "I would be more comfortable if that guard wasn't standing outside my room. Are all your rooms armed with guards?" Elisabeth said "yes safety is big for the King and Queen." Tiqa said "oh..." Elisabeth said "well Princess Tiqa enjoy your rest. I'll see you in the morning bright and early." Tiqa said "alright goodnight." Elisabeth curtsied and said "goodnight" as she left the room closing the door behind her. 

Tiqa laid on her bed and stared at the ceiling thinking about her parents. She said "God this is a dream come true. I'm a real princess and so is Driaka. You've already given me more then I ever asked for, more then I've ever hoped. Never in a million years would I have thought I was going to be a princess. A princess who would live in the most beautiful castle in the prettiest room, wearing these beautiful clothes, its all a dream come true. I just have to say thank You, thank You so much!" She sat up,  walked over to her closet, went inside,  pulled out a some night clothes, took a shower, put on her night clothes, turned off her light, and laid in bed. She look up at the ceiling and said "God this is a Blessing, a very great Blessing You've given us. I just thank You for everything." She slowly drifted away in a deep sleep. 

8 hours pasted and there was a knock at her door. The door slowly opened and a servant holding a tray of food entered. The servant stood by Tiqa's bed and said "good morning Princess Tiqa," waking Tiqa up. Tiqa saw the servant and quickly sat up for the servant scared her. The servant said "oh I'm sorry Princess Tiqa I didn't mean to scare you." Tiqa said "no, no its okay. I guess I have to get use to someone entering my room." The servant walked over to Tiqa, gave her the tray, and said "your breakfast today is cinnamon apple french toast with powder sugar on top and to drink orange juice courtesy of the head chef Justin." Tiqa said "oh I love his cooking he made an excellent dinner last night. Please make sure to tell him I said thank you." The servant said "will do Princess Tiqa." Tiqa began to eat and the servant curtsied and left the room while Elisabeth entered the room. Elisabeth said "good morning Princess Tiqa, are you enjoying breakfast?" Tiqa said "very much. The last time I got served breakfast in bed was when I was really young." Elisabeth said "oh the last time I was served breakfast in bed was... Never 30." Tiqa laughed and said "never 30?" Elisabeth smiled and said "yes never 30. Now when your done I'll help you get dressed and then you we can start your studies." Tiqa said "my studies?" Elisabeth said "yes your studies. The King and Queen want you to learn the ropes of being a princess before they have another formal event." Tiqa said "great... So these studies do all princesses have to do this?" Elisabeth said "yes including your little sister." Tiqa said "well this is a lot to take in." Elisabeth said "I'm sure you'll catch on quickly. Now you must hurry up its not good for a princess to be late." Tiqa finished eating and Elisabeth took her tray. Elisabeth said "now I'm going to put this in the kitchen and then we can pick out a dress for you and I'll help you put it on." Tiqa said "sounds good" and Elisabeth left while saying "I'll be right back." Tiqa said "princess classes God? I've never heard of a princess class God. God please help me to adjust and face these new things head on with You in my mind." Elisabeth entered the room and said "now lets find you a dress." Elisabeth entered the closet, pulled out a rose gold floor length gown that had sleeves that cut off around the elbow, and said "how about this?" Tiqa said "its beautiful. I would love to wear it." Elisabeth said "okay now you go take a shower while I find some shoes for you." Tiqa said "okay," took a shower, and Elisabeth helped dress her in her gown. Elisabeth showed Tiqa white high heels and and said "how about these?" Tiqa said "beautiful I'll wear those." Tiqa sat on her bed and put on her shoes. Elisabeth said "now your hair. Come over to the vanity so I can do it." Tiqa and Elisabeth walked over to the vanity and Tiqa sat at the chair that was standing at the vanity. Elisabeth grabbed a brush and began to brush Tiqa's hair while saying "alright Princess Tiqa what do you want done to it?" Tiqa said "can we please leave it down? I would love for it to be down." Elisabeth said "alright Princess we'll leave it down." Elisabeth brushed through Tiqa's hair until it was untangled and the frizz was gone. Elisabeth asked "how's that?" Tiqa answered "its perfect." Tiqa picked up a white flower pin from off of her vanity and put it in her hair. Elisabeth said "now you can start your day and your right on time too." Driaka, Jenessa, and Susan entered the room yelling "Tiqa." Tiqa stood up and said "hello girls I see you guys are all dressed and ready for your day." Driaka said "a nice servant named Sue dressed me in this beautiful purple ballroom gown I have on and put my hair up into a princess bun." Tiqa smiled and said "ah your personal servant did this. What a wonderful job she did." Driaka said "Sue says that me, Susan, and Jenessa have to go to classes." Tiqa said "I heard. Well lets go to our princess classes shall we?" Elisabeth said "oh Princess Tiqa you won't be attending classes with Susan, Driaka, and Jenessa. They attend classes for younger princesses and ladies in waiting. You will be attending an older class. There's more for a princess your age to learn then there is for little ones." Susan said "Tiqa has the fun teacher and we have the strict one Ms.Sky." Jenessa said "speaking of  Ms.Sky we better go to the class now before Ms.Sky throws a fit about us being late again. Because as you know ladies in waiting are suppose to keep princesses on time." Susan said "alright lets go." Susan grabbed Driaka's and Jenessa's hand and they walked away while Driaka said "goodbye Tiqa." Tiqa said "so I attend a class by myself." Elisabeth said "only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On Mondays and Wednesdays you attend classes with Stephen." Tiqa's face turned red and she said "I have to attend classes with Stephen?! Doing what?!" Elisabeth said "you'll be learning how to eat dinner, ballroom dance, how to announce your title, what to do at a formal event, etc... Its a good thing you came along Stephen usually has to do this with his Monday and Wednesday teacher Mrs.Charlotte." Tiqa asked "who is Mrs.Charlotte?" Elisabeth answered "she is a lady in waiting and a teacher. She comes here from a kingdom not far from here. Now today you will be in the ballroom." Tiqa said "the ballroom?!" Elisabeth said "yes now lets get a move on. I won't have you be late now." Elisabeth grabbed Tiqa's hand and escorted her to the ballroom. In the ballroom stood Stephen, Mrs.Charlotte, and Cedar. Elisabeth curtsied, said "I'll see you later I have chores to do," and left all while Stephen stared at Tiqa. Mrs.Charlotte said "well I see we have two new students Princess Tiqa and Nobleman Cedar." Cedar said "me a new student? I would think my favorite teacher would remember her favorite student." Mrs.Charlotte said "I meant newer to the class. The last time you attended my class was 4 years ago and now your back. We've upgraded studies." Cedar said "I know its been a while." Mrs.Charlotte said "yes it has. Now we've been learning about introductions, right Stephen?" Mrs.Charlotte looked at Stephen seeing that he was staring at Tiqa. Mrs.Charlotte yelled "right Stephen." Stephen quickly looked at Mrs.Charlotte and said "the essay is due when?" Cedar chuckled and Mrs.Charlotte said "I think someone was daydreaming about his other class. Well now that your back from dreamland will you please show us how to introduce yourself." Stephen's face turned red and he said "you want me to introduce myself?" Mrs.Charlotte said "there's only one Stephen and that's you so yes. Come face the class and introduce yourself." Stephen stood in front of them, bowed, and said "hello I'm Prince Stephen Timothy August Daniel from the Blue Kingdom." Mrs.Charlotte said "good now you go practice that with Tiqa. Now Tiqa I don't expect you to know your title since your a new princess, your tutor will teach you more later. You can just let Stephen practice his introduction." Cedar said "then who am I going to practice with?" Mrs. Charlotte said "you Cedar will be practicing with me. Now you two go on the other half of the room and Stephen practice your introduction." Stephen said "I...I... I will." He put out his hand towards Tiqa and she grabbed it. He led her to the other half of the room. 

He let go of her hand, bowed while she curtsied, and he said "hello my name is, Prince Stephen Timothy August Daniel from the Blue Kingdom." Tiqa said "I'm charmed to meet you and my name is Princess Tiqa Francine Brianne from the Blue Kingdom." He smiled, said "so happy to be here," and Tiqa said "its an honor to be here." He grabbed her hand, kissed it, and she smiled. He said "it seems your a natural princess." She chuckled and said "more like I have to much time on my hands. I use to pretend to be a princess when I was younger rehearsing my princess title." Stephen said "well you've done a job great... I mean great job! Because you are princess perfect... I mean perfect princess. I mean, I meant to say a natural princess he-heh-ha." His face turned red, she smiled, and said "well thank you Prince Stephen." He said "your welcome Princess Tiqa." 

Mrs.Charlotte said "if you are done practicing Stephen then will you two please join me over here." They walked over to Mrs.Charlotte and Cedar and Mrs.Charlotte said "well now that you've practiced why not show me how to introduce yourself to a princess." Stephen grabbed Tiqa's hand and they walked a few feet  away so he could present his introduction. He bowed while she curtsied and he said "hello my name is, Prince Stephen Timothy August Daniel from the Blue Kingdom." Tiqa replied "I'm charmed to meet you. My name is, Princess Tiqa Francine Brianne from the Blue Kingdom." Stephen said "so happy to be here." Tiqa said "its an honor to be here." Mrs.Charlotte said "it seems Princess Tiqa knows a little more then I thought." Stephen said "I know isn't she prefect..." Everyone in the room stared at him and Tiqa's face turned red. Stephen said "I mean, I meant, I mean a natural is what I mean." Mrs.Charlotte said "hmm I'm sure. Lets just continue to go over these titles together." 

The hours pasted as Cedar, Tiqa, and Stephen practiced their titles in front of each other. Soon class was over and Mrs.Charlotte said "alright now you are dismissed." Cedar said "great now its lunch time." Stephen chuckled and said "yeah your favorite time of the day." Cedar said "you know it!" Stephen said "Tiqa I can take you to your sister." Tiqa smiled and said "that would be lovely but..." Mrs.Charlotte interrupted saying "actually Prince Stephen I would like to have a word with you in private." Stephen said "hmm um yes sure." Elisabeth walked into the room and said "Princess Tiqa, come Princess Driaka, Princess Susan, and Lady Jenessa are all waiting in the garden for you. A tea party is set up for you and them." Tiqa said "oh how cute! Well goodbye Prince Stephen I'll see you around the castle." Elisabeth escorted Tiqa to the garden while Cedar left to the kitchen and Stephen starred at Tiqa leaving the room.

Tiqa was 11 years old when she got her little sister. She had great parents, and peaceful household, or so she thought. On her 12th birthday she was knocked out and left at an unfamiliar place with her sister by her very own parents. Now left alone in the cold Tiqa was forced to take care of herself, and her sister. The years went on with out any help from the outside world she took on the role of the parents, providing her little sister with all the love, and care she possibly could. Her sister grew to be a happy little girl, but Tiqa Prayed of a day when her knight a shining armor would come, and save them both, and soon her Prayers will be answered.

"When is the last time you were in Bangor?" Huxley asks, turning off the expressway.

When we woke up this morning, and he said he had a surprise for me, I won't lie I worried. So far, surprises from Huxley have included walking into precarious situations or waving fake guns at people who broke into my apartment. I wasn't quite sure I could handle another Huxley surprise.

After a quick shower he hustled me into the car and we took off on the freeway. It wasn't until we started driving inland and I noticed the signs for Bangor I realize we had to be going to the famous town. There's not a lot of places in Maine to visit.

"Um..." I think very hard on how to answer his question. "In high school. I distinctly remember Katy and I getting in the car and coming to shop on more than one occasion."

"You drove all the way to Bangor to shop?" Huxley asks, checking my answer from the corner of his eye.

I give a halfhearted shrug. "They have a real mall." A real mall. Not the outside open-air shopping center located between Pelican Bay and new Pelican Bay that Katy likes to call a mall. A real mall, with doors you have to walk in to get to the shops. Food courts. Loud speakers. A pretzel stand.

"Did you know Stephen King has a house in Bangor," I recite the well-known fact every person from Maine knows.

Huxley smiles. "Why do you think we're here? It's top on my list."

I laugh. When he said sightseeing, I didn't expect him to mean it. "I didn't take you for a King fan."

"There're often lots of down time overseas. When you're waiting for information on a mission or need someone else to carry out their part of a plan. I did a lot of reading. King got me through long nights."

"King gave me lots of long nights." I don't think I slept for a week after I read It. Why my school librarian thought it was acceptable to let a sixth grader read that book I'll never understand.

Huxley laughs using his blinker to turn as we drive toward the large downtown area of Bangor. The city is much larger than Pelican Bay. Over one hundred thousand people live in the surrounding areas, and the downtown area shows it. The main street is longer and the buildings taller. Everything from cute cafes to art shops and places to buy antiques. There's never been this much variety in Pelican Bay. And we haven't even hit the mall yet.

"Is it okay with you if we drive by Stephen's house first and then do a little shopping downtown?" Huxley asks.

I don't miss the way he calls King by his first name, as if the two are best friends. "Sure, do you know how to get there?"

As I said before, I haven't been to Bangor in years, but the other thing the city has, which Pelican Bay doesn't, is reliable cell service. With a working smart phone, I can bring up the directions rather quickly. Truth of the matter is Stephen King doesn't spend much time at this house since it's such a popular tourist attraction, but I don't plan to tell Huxley that and ruin the excitement for him.

He taps a finger to his head twice. "I've got them right here." Like a little kid waiting for Christmas morning, a smile stretches across his features as he takes the few turns required to get on the path to the much-hyped home.

"Ohhh, while you're here we totally need to go see the Paul Bunyan statue."

"You guys have a statue of Paul Bunyan?" Huxley's eyes narrow as he takes another turn. How hard is it to believe that Maine would have a giant statue of Paul Bunyan?

"You don't have a statue of Paul? It's the main thing. You can't visit Bangor and not get a picture of Paul Bunyan. You get bad luck if you don't."

Huxley turns off the main road into a small side area with housing. The streets are lined with large houses the people paid a pretty penny for to live here. Stephen King doesn't live in squalor. The car slows as Huxley spends more time looking out the window to see if he can spot the house than he does focusing on the road in front of him. I've seen Stephen King's house and not much has changed to the brick exterior, so I take over watching the road.

"There it is," he exclaims pointing out the side window.

Sure enough, the red brick mansion comes into view on our side. A black wrought-iron gate with bat-like features at the posts instead of traditional lions impede very little of our view. The spider-web-like gate is open giving Huxley a straight shot to look at the mansion with its white wraparound front porch.

It really is a beautiful home even without Stephen King living there. If you didn't know he wrote blood and guts, you could easily see Danielle Steel sitting at the desk writing historic love stories about a time that got away.

The trees are in full bloom and cast a shadow on the lawn, including a dead stump which has been cut off and left to sit.

"You think he's inside right now?" Huxley asks, not taking his eyes off the large home.

Probably not, but I don't want to ruin his fun so I play long. "Probably writing something important."

"My brother, the one who died, wanted to be a writer after he finished his service. He planned to put in his twenty years and then write war stories like Patterson but with scary creatures like Stephen King. He would've been amazing."

I rub my hand against Huxley in a comforting way. "I bet he would have."

"I may have followed him into the service, but there's no way I can finish out the rest of his dreams. He had a wild imagination."

"Well, if you're unhappy in Hawaii," Which I still find crazy because who wouldn't be happy in Hawaii. It's so beautiful there. "It's time for you to find something you do enjoy. Live for Huxley this time."

My words sink in as he nods his head still staring at Stephen King's home. It's as if Huxley lived for everyone else—first his brother, the military, and then me. I hope he can decide what he wants to do. And when he does that his plans include me.

"Okay, let's go shopping," he says putting my car into gear and pulling away from the famous house.

"Exactly what every girl wants to hear."

"We can park downtown. Right?" Huxley asks.

I nod. "Hopefully you have money for a meter." Downtown Bangor is bigger than Pelican Bay's Main Street, but it's not that much bigger. We should be able to walk it in a reasonably quick time. I like to shop, yes, but I only work a part-time job at a club and pick up random shifts at the bakery. Money is tight lately.

Huxley follows my directions out of Stephen King's neighborhood and drives back toward downtown Bangor at an even pace.

"Wait! We forgot about Paul. Turn this way," I yell and point in the direction when I see the area where Paul Bunyan's large statue is located. Huxley follows and we find the tall flannel plaid man just off the road.

He is a total tourist trap, but you have to see him when you're here. I don't make the rules. I just follow them.

A dirty, tired group of three people and a dog-monster descended the hills from the south of the city of Galaron. It was a large, crowded city of bustling, narrow streets. Everything was made of white stone that had long ago been smudged with soot and filth, even the high defensive walls that surrounded the metropolis. At the rear of the city stood several tall towers that made up the castle, home to the city's king. There were dozens of guard towers positioned along the thick, tall walls, but only three large arched entrances at the front and the sides. The three strangers with their dog-monster approached the front gate that ran along the main road, and mingled in with the throngs of people and carts that made their way into the city. At the guardhouse the old man of the group was stopped by one of the guards. "I don't see any goods on you. What's your business here?" he rudely asked the aged fellow.
The old man raised his eyes to the guard, and they twinkled with mischief. "Our business is to cause trouble, and it seems we're making a good start at it here."
The guard scowled and looked at the others. They waited patiently to the side of the gate and the cantankus drooled all over the stone floor beneath the arched gate. The guard cringed back with a scowl of disgust. "We have enough trouble of our own to want more uninvited troublemakers." He shoved the old man away from the gate. "Get along now and don't try the other gates. They'll be warned your coming."
The old man chuckled. "They should have already been warned about my coming," he countered.
The guard furrowed his brow, and the young woman of the group stepped forward. "My apologies, my good sir." She shot the old man a glare. "My senile father means you no harm."
"Do I have that honor now?" the old man countered.
The girl growled, and the guard stepped between them. "That's enough out of both of you. Leave now or I'll be forced to toss you out into the plains."
"What seems to be the problem here?" a voice spoke up. Everyone turned to see a captain in a neat uniform step out of the guardhouse.
The guard gestured to the girl and old man. The boy stood off to the side with his dog. "These two are causing trouble, sir. The old man here says that's what they've come to cause."
The captain raised an eyebrow, and a smile twitched at the corner of his lips. "Really? What trouble do you intend to cause?"
The old man stepped forward and bowed to the captain. "A great deal for King Stephen, and perhaps he's told you something of us. We're expected."
"Are you?" the captain asked. "We'll have to see about that. Come inside, but the cantankus must stay here." A great crowd had gathered around and watched the proceedings with interest.
The boy patted the cantankus on the head. "We'll be right back," he promised the beast, who sat down and licked the young man's face.
The three human companions stepped inside the guardhouse and the captain led them to a small chamber room. The captain allowed them in and shut the door behind them all. He took a seat in an old chair and gestured for the others to do likewise. They declined; they were in a hurry. "Now tell me what brings you here, strangers."
The old man spoke up first. "We had hoped to enjoy the hospitality of the people of Galaron and their king, but it seems dark days have fallen on their manners."
The captain cupped his chin in one hand and gave a nod. "Indeed the skies grow darker even as we speak, but what of our king? You said you were expected. Can you show me proof?"
The old man smiled and tapped his staff against the stone floor. The tip of the staff lit up with a blue-colored flame. "Is that what you were looking for?" he asked the captain.
The captain's eyes widened slightly, and he straightened up. His eyes fell on the travelers with a new, more scrutinizing eye. "Then you are Ned and this is Elsa Lamikan?" he guessed.
Ned nodded. "Indeed, the very same. Can you take us to the king?"
"Immediately, but I must ask who this boy is," the captain countered as he gestured to the young man. "I wasn't told there would be a third human, nor a cantankus."
"Plans changed, and we have procured ourselves more allies," Ned replied.
The captain sighed and stood again. "We will have need of as many as we can find." He bowed his head to the three. "But allow me to introduce myself. I am Captain Alexander Hawkins, leader of the king's guard."
They bowed likewise to him and Ned stepped forward. "Lead on, Captain Hawkins, and be quick. The sooner we arrive at the castle the sooner I can get the smell of that cantankus off me."
Captain Hawkins led them back to the gate, and they paused only long enough to pick up Fluffy before they went on their way. The city of Galaron was a winding maze of crooked and dead-end streets. Shops were scattered among houses and women showed off their wares from upper windows. Fred thought it an uglier place than Tramadore, and cringed when he heard a wail of sorrow down an alley. A brown and gray-patched white cat stood on a crate beside an open door, and its golden eyes watched them pass hurriedly.
Ned noticed his young friend's look of disgust. He sidled up to Fred. "The captain here is leading us along the slums of the city. Other parts are more hospitable to tourists and visitors such as ourselves."
Fred shook his head. He wasn't bothered by the scenery. "I saw worse on the estate," he countered. "I just wasn't expecting to see it in as grand a capital as this."
Ned pursed his lips together. "Unfortunately, poverty doesn't confine itself to any one region or city, but shares its misery among many people. Remember that we guard Pat for the future of these people, and all the others in the city." Fred didn't reply. He had a feeling the fate of them guarding Pat would lay with this King Stephen. The royal highness may decide to toss them aside in favor of knights or other castors. 
Captain Hawkins guided them past the main entrance to the castle and to the left side. A small door lay hidden behind a dense bush, and with a key in his possession he allowed them inside. They had a little problem in the form of the big cantankus. Poor Fluffy couldn't hope to fit through the doorway that even Ned had to duck into.
"Is he obedient enough to stay here?" Captain Hawkins asked them.
The three companions looked at one another, and shrugged in unison. "No clue," Fred replied for them all.
The captain looked over the lovable oaf who sat and slobbered close by. "Perhaps you should chain him up with your magic. The people of Galaron know what a cantankus is, but to have one unfettered and loose in the city would cause a small panic. They're very destructive creatures when they're hungry and afraid."
Ned chuckled. "I'm sure he'll be fine. This cantankus seems to be much smarter than the average beast. Though just in case..." Ned pulled off all their bags and dumped out their food on the ground, minus the remains of the greens. Fluffy dove atop the meat and crunched happily on the bones. "That should distract him long enough for our interview with the king."
The humans stepped inside and followed Hawkins through a new maze of corridors until they reached the entrance hall. Long tapestries hung from the washed walls, and Fred peered curiously at some of them. He didn't know much about art, but he did notice there was a recurring theme of winged creatures and sky scenes. The group moved on to a wide, regal staircase at the center of the hall that led up to two large, wooden doors on the second floor, and then curved to the left and right to balconies. Those balconies had hallways that led off into the depths of the castle rooms. Hawkins led them up the stairs and through the wooden doors. The guards bowed to their captain and looked curiously at his filthy companions. Fred noticed Ned's face tighten and his lips purse together, especially when he heard the guards mutter Pat's real name. They were found out, and in a day's time all the city would know they were there.
The room behind the two doors was the throne room, and at the far back sat a ridiculously high pedestal. The platform rose two yards off the floor and a short flight of stairs led up to a single throne. The throne itself was ridiculously tall with two small steps that allowed easier access to the seat. The chair had a high back nearly eight feet tall and large arms that ended in roaring lion heads. Fred wondered if somebody was trying to compensate for a lack of royal assets.
The chair was occupied by a man of middle age, King Stephen. He had thinning golden hair and a brown beard. His clothes were of the finest silk and he wore a crown that glittered with jewels. Fred thought he saw a resemblance between the king's nose and that of Pat's own schnoz. At his side precariously situated on the narrow platform stood a woman with one clear blue eye and the other a bright green color. She had hair as black as night that hung down to her waist, and her dress showed off her curves and full breasts. Pat noticed Fred's ogling and elbowed him in the side. "What?" he mouthed.
"You know what," she mouthed back.
They stopped their bickering as they approached the king. Ned and Pat knelt on one knee and bowed their heads. Fred followed, but tumbled over on the bow. Pat rolled her eyes. Captain Hawkins stepped in front of the long staircase that led up to the royal chair. "Sire, I bring with me those whom you were expecting."
A smile graced the king's lips and he jumped up with open arms. "Edwin, my old friend! What a relief to see that you are well and arrived in my kingdom." He moved down the platform and Ned stood up in time to be embraced in a bone-crushing hug.
Ned gave a pain-filled smile. "Yes, it is a relief to be here at last."
The king sniffed Ned's clothing, wrinkled his nose and pulled Ned to arms' length. "By all the gods, but you smell like a cantankus."
"Yes, well, an evil necessity when one's companion is such a beast," Ned replied.
Stephen raised a brow. "Truly? Your last letter spoke only of you and the girl." He looked past Ned and at Fred. "And now I see that you have a boy with you. What trouble did you find?" Ned pursed his lips together and his eyes flickered over to the woman. Stephen noticed where Ned's gaze lay and gave a hearty laugh. "No need to worry about that, old friend. She is my adviser." Stephen half turned and opened his arm to her. She smiled and stepped down so he could wrap his arm around her shoulders. "Mariana Martley, allow me to introduce you to-"
"-Edwin the Castor," she finished for him. The woman curtsied to Ned. "It's an honor to be introduced to you, sir. I've heard much about you."
"And I nothing about you," he countered.
The woman smiled and shrugged. "Perhaps in time we'll get to know each other."
"But for now I would listen to your tale," Stephen interrupted. "You are a few days later than expected, and I was forced to inform more of my guards to be on the lookout for your coming."
"You missed one at the front gate, but that was an unwise move, Your Highness," Ned scolded. "What if one had told Canavar?"
Stephen brushed aside Ned's concerns with a wave of his hand. "Water under the bridge, my friend. Besides, I had planned a birthday party for the young girl and she is nearly late for it."
Ned raised an eyebrow. "Is that wise, Your Highness? Lord Canavar followed us all the way to Salaron Bridge, and beset us with many tricks. We would do better to not attract his attention."
"But you are all safe so long as you remain here," Stephen countered. "And the whole world will know of her greatness soon enough, and I have planed a present for her in the form of a husband."
Fred noticed Pat paled at the mention of a husband, and Ned's forehead creased so that his bushy eyebrows nearly covered his eyes. Even the lady Martley snapped her head toward the king and her smile failed her for a moment. "One that follows the prophecy?" she asked him.
The king grinned and eagerly nodded his head like a smile child proud of an accomplishment. "Yes, exactly to the letter, but no more will be said. I won't have my surprise ruined."
Ned bowed. "I see I can't sway you with this party, but may I ask for the list of guests you hoped to attend? As her guardian I must ensure her safety."
Here Stephen burst out in a laugh that rang through the room, and he gave Ned such a pat on the back that the old man stumbled forward. "None of that seriousness just yet, old friend. Celebrate your victory over the lord and make merry, and know that your duty as her guardian is done!" He gestured to Captain Hawkins, who put his arm across his chest and bowed to them all. "My captain here will be the perfect guardian for her, I'm sure of it. As her second-in-command, I'm sure she will agree that he is the most trustworthy."
Pat stepped forward and Fred noticed her shoulders shook with contained rage. "Your Highness, I appreciate your offer but I must decline such a worthy knight." She gestured to Fred and Ned. "I have here two very good protectors, and choose them as my personal guardians. However, I would be honored if Captain Hawkins was by my side when battle comes, as we all know it will."
Stephen clapped and looked to them with a bright smile on his face. "Very well spoken, my dear, and I can see some of Edwin's stubbornness has rubbed off on you. Perhaps a good rest and some thought over this matter will change your mind." Pat wanted to argue to the contrary, but she pinched her lips shut and bowed to her king. "Now tell me of your journey, and retire to your rooms. My servants will take good care of you and see that you are cleaned."

Everything was normal for Fred until the old man showed up.
Fred was a fine lad with his dark brown hair, fair complexion and dark eyes. He was also a serf by occupation and title, and that left him with little other choice but to labor on Lord Damskov's estate. Fred hadn't been born a serf, though. He was a freedman until his parents died when he was ten, and they left their debt to the lord unpaid. By law he was forced into the servitude of the debt owner, and there he remained for several years. The first ten years of freedom had given him an independent streak, but he kept his mouth shut to keep the peace. Days slipped into weeks, and then months, and still he continued to live and work on his lord's manor. Now he was a young man of fifteen, and still chained to the estate. That is, until the old man came and wrecked his life.
The day started out as many others had before it. The sun rose and he along with it, and Fred had trudged out into the plots assigned for him to manage. There were several acres of crops to weed and water, and after that work was done he could manage his own little plot of dirt used to grow his own food. If Fred left the supply of food up to his lord then he would have died of starvation.
Beyond his fields stretched miles and miles of farmland that traveled over the rolling hills, interrupted only by sparse clumps of trees and bushes, and the occasional manor. A river ran close to the manor on which he lived and wound its way west toward a town he knew existed but had never seen. He didn't have any curiosity to see it, either; he was far too busy tending his small patches of rocks and weeds.
Fred was just setting to work when the old man came walking close by on the wide dirt path that led from the main road to the manor house. The boy was interested in this stranger, for strangers were a rare sight. Even more rare was such a stranger as this, what with his ragged brown cloak draped over his shoulders. The ends dragged along the ground behind him and covered any footprints he left in the dust. There was also the white, unkept hair which trailed down over the old man's shoulders and draped over the front and back of the cloak. He had wisps of white hair over his head, but his eyes were well-covered by a pair of bushy gray eyebrows and he had a long, white beard that stretched down to his waist. The old man carried a staff in his hand, but though his pace was slow and feeble he didn't lean his weight against it.
Fred was startled when the stranger lifted his head and turned those old eyes on him. They were a bright blue, brighter than the clear sky above them, and held an energy which wasn't seen in his step. The old man tottered over to Fred and looked the lad up and down. A small smile graced his mustached lips, and he nodded his head. "Can such a fine lad as yourself tell me where I might find the nearest town?" the old man asked him.
Fred shook his head. "I haven't been farther from this manor than a mile, and the town is somewhere beyond that to the west."
"Can you help me find it? I am old and haven't much strength to be wandering over all these winding roads," the stranger requested.
"I can't. I'm not allowed to leave the manor without permission from my lord." Fred dared not disobey his lord's laws.
The stranger pulled at his beard, and the smile remained on his lips. "I see. Well, I suppose you wouldn't want to disobey your lord for a short adventure."



"Wait a minute, are those fireflies?"- Axel 

"Nope, a spark may be"- Connor 

"Or a falling star?"- Logan 

"Idiot! It's obviously some damn fairies"- Calix 

"They really like to fly in the mist tsk tsk tsk"- Robert 

"I think they got traps!! Quick hide me!"- Hunter 

"Come on Hunter, the human world is way too scared that these puny fairies"- Theodore 

"Theodore was right though, the human world is very crazy and scary"- Zeke 

"I think I prefer Mermaid Lagoon though"- Fred uttered. "YAH!!"- they all told him, he really likes pretty girls and I even remembered Freya and Princess Tina by it. 

"What? Those mermaids are undeniably beautiful. Not to mention long and shiny hair with reddish lips"- Fred added with a smirk. "I have never seen a doll who's a player"- Mina sighed. "Agree, geez if you see a fairy I think you will change your mind"- Isaac smirked. I only shrugged at whatever they are even talking about. 

I heard some twinkling sounds coming from our way and there, a little fairy with no color on its clothes and wings showed up. "Why are you here in the land full of sadness and no color?"- it sadly asked. 

"Well, we are here on a journey. We just went to the Mermaid Lagoon. We are here to ask a few questions."- I replied. 

"Oh? I see, so Queen Tiara must really welcome you all. Alright follow me"- the fairy flew ahead and we followed her. We kinda walk a bit far until we reached a giant oak tree. "Welp, those small ol' dolls can climb up here but, eh those 2 humans can enter le' big ol' tree since we got small holes"- she said. "Don't worry, I can handle it"- I set us all into smaller sizes and even did magic to make little birds that we can ride on. 

"Oh?! A wizard?!"- she widely asked. "I'm just a normal human being"- I smiled. "Ok we will fly up there"- she pointed the most top branch so we flew with our birds up. Not much longer, we see a hole and she leads our way in. On our way in, we see a king and a queen sitting on their throne with a face without a smile. 

"Gloomy day, your highnesses"- she greeted. "And? Who are these creatures you........... OH MY GOSH!!! THOSE ARE DOLLS!!!"- the King and Queen quickly hide behind the throne and more soldiers came in surrounding us. 

"No no no wait your highnesses. These dolls are all kind and have nothing to do with the cursed year"- I hopped down the bird and went closer to them. 

"W-where did y-you get t-those dolls?!"- the Queen terrifying asked. "They are my friends, your highness please rest assured." 

"Friends?!"- the guards surprisingly asked. "Yes. I want to gather all 18 legendary dolls to fight those killer dolls that came from Stray Souls. I am also looking for my Grandma who has been abducted by a shadow. But not Queen Selena"- I said. "So Selena didn't do it? Impossible!"- the King uttered. 

"We asked her about it and she has no idea. Only the Devil and the Founder is what we are up to this time after the House of Circus." 

"And we are also here to ask a few questions. If you allow us?"- Lance asked. "You're not a doll"- the Queen pointed. 

"Yes I'm not a doll, just like her a human"- Lance pointed me. 

"Your names?" 

"I'm Lance Akerman and she is Gesielle Stoneheart-Lee. These dolls are with us after that stormy night a week ago"- he introduced us as we all bowed. "I see, so what will be your questions?"- the Queen asked. 

"Your highnesses, may we asked on do you know anything about the repetition of the cursed year? The Devil and so as the dolls that came from Stray Souls Orphanage and Academy?"- Mina asked. 

"Yes, we know about the repetition of the cursed year. All monsters and creatures in this world know why we called it the cursed year. Because of the attack of those creepy dolls from Stray Souls, they can kill as many monsters and creatures as they can so that they could collect thousands of souls in order to make a new army for destroying the world. You wonder why humans are also gone right? Well, those dolls got them. Either they killed them or eat their souls as they used the body and image to become dolls as well. Just like the Founder did to those orphans and children."- King 

"Our son was also a victim of the attack on our island. Come, we will take you to him"- Queen 

So we followed them to another tree which we noticed that most guards there were bugs, squirrels, and hawks. "This is where we keep him"- the King replied. 

We went inside the old tree and on the center portion where a little bit of light could enter, we see a crystalized figure of a little man.....without wings?! 

"Why is your son without wings?"- Mina 

"Yeah, so ironic to have children without wings"- Isaac 

"Or he has retractable wings?"- Diego 

"No. He was not our biological son. He was just a little human boy who is lost on this island since he was a toddler. Little did we know that he was a doll that came from Stray Souls but he escape along with this tiny key" 

The King handed me a tiny key. Like the size in the hole of the doors in the dollhouse. "Did you asked him about this key?" 

"He only told us that it was one of the secret keys to Stray Souls Orphanage to where all operations of making creepy dolls are. He hasn't talked much about it so we keep that key and treat him like he was our real son"- Queen 

"Strange, he came from Stray Souls but how did he escape?"- Logan asked. 

"He escapes with all of his might and ended up falling to the river that leads to the ocean and into our island. Those creepy dolls, as he said never chased him the moment he was on the waters because they looked like they are afraid to be soaked."- King 

"I see, how about the Devil?" 

"You will find him after the Master of the Circus would guide you"- the King replied. 

"Got it. Lastly, what happened to your island? Queen Tiara told us that ever since the witches attack your island, all the music and happiness are gone, right?"- Lance clarified. 

"True. Our musical instruments are magical however the witches, ghosts, and goblins hate those instruments especially the Piri. All of our instruments are destroyed and every time we tried to build a new one, one of us would die in an instant. For short, the witches also set a spell on us."- the Queen sadly replied. 

"Maybe this will remove the spell"- I then put out the Piri, their faces were both priceless. "H-How..." 

"I got it by the owner of Hunter, Logan, Zeke, Connor, and Theodore to where I won them as prices during the chess games and I also got this wand from the same troll." 

"I haven't seen our creations in years. A Piri"- the Queen happily said and I can barely see her tears. 

"Mind for playing it? Miss Lee?"- the King asked. 

I nod as I play the notes, I was looking at the King and Queen and so as the guys and Mina. Little did I know everything around us has its colors back. And lastly, we see that crystals from the Prince are slowly cracking and eventually it started to fade. And he was blinking his eyes and looked around the whole place. 

"Mom......Dad... 

"STEPHEN CRESENT!!"- they hurriedly hugged him so tightly. 

"We're so happy that you're back!!"- King 

"We missed you so much!!"- Queen 

"Mom, Dad......wha-hey who are these dolls? Are they from Stray Souls too? Those two? Are they fairies?" 

"I'm not sure to answer your hypothesis that they came from Stray Souls though, but we will find out along the way. I'm Gesielle Stoneheart-Lee. This is Lance Akerman, both of us are just normal human being that transformed into tiny people just to enter your kingdom. These guys are; Mina, Axel, Calix, Fred, Logan, Zeke, Hunter, Theodore, Robert, Connor, Isaac, and Diego. They are one of the legendary dolls that Mr. Hintch told us about from the Grim Reaper Island. All dolls from those Legendary 18 will come and save us all that's why they got powers with different abilities. Let's see if you have any number in you..." 

I scanned his body and lastly, it was all in his left palm. "I see you are number 14 so 5 more dolls to go before we go to Stray Souls and sol-" 

"Woah! Woah! Woah! Hold on in there Missy, did you just freakingly say 'Stray Souls'?! Are you insane?! Many people would die if you go there! You guys would die if you go there too! Look, I don't want to go back in that place, I might get totally killed this time around!"- Stephen scaredly said while he was heaving a deep breathings. "My life there was miserable and outstandingly traumatic! I experience pain, anger, loneliness, tiredness, and petrified. I don't want to go back in that HELL!!"- he was now terrifyingly scared and angry right now that it causes him to cry. 

"Relax Stephen, we are too are scared to go and risk our lives. But we need to save the world. It's up to us, Lance, Mina, and Gesielle. Many islands, towns, and families were gone because of the Founder. So we better move to stop this repetition of the cursed year"- Hunter said with full of courage and determination, of course, I am proud to hear those from him. 

"Son, he was right. You need to be in their side to complete all 18 dolls and in order to stop this cursed year"- the King said 

"But, how about you guys and the Fairy Island?" 

"As long as we are fine, nothing's going to happen"- the Queen smiled. 

"The only thing that could make our island happy is to play musical instruments"- Stephen uttered in a worried manner. 

"We know. That is why the colors are back because of Miss Gesielle, thanks to her the spell from the witches are gone and we can play music again!"- the King proudly said. I got an idea. 

I pull out my wand and make instant musical instruments for the King and Queen, also for Stephen. "Please, play some song to let everyone on this island to know that happiness has returned once in for all"- I smiled. They immediately picked up those instruments. The King has an accordion, the Queen has the harp and Stephen got the flute. 

After a second or two, they play beautiful harmony. Stephen got the talent in music, the dollhouse on my necklace lits up so I immediately turned it back to its original size to see where he belongs in the dollhouse. Little did we know that there was a music room on the second floor of the dollhouse. I didn't expect anything about that room area though. 

"Music makes me so happy. Alright, I'll join you since I know some areas in the orphanage and the academy."- he was now determined and I am glad to him say by it. 

"Thank you, your highnesses. We won't let you guys down. We will return the world on the way it used to be, where all happiness and freedom is what we always wanted"- I said with full of determination. We are close to the stray souls, but we need to go to the House of Circus and see the Devil first. 

"Almost forgot, have this gem with you"- the Queen showed us the Blue gem, this means Hope. The gem flew up near to my wand and it places at the second hole from the right next to the center. So 2 gems left to find...I am almost close Grandma. Please hang on there Grandma, we swear to return everything back to where we used to be.
