A short BL story I wrote for a competition.
A relationship that evolved over hardships.

Some Poems/Short Stories I will write on my free time. It'll mostly be poems. Any type of poem. You might like them, you might not. Criticise if I do anything wrong. I might use a title out of the comments to name some poems.

It was already the afternoon and Angeal, Arlo, Arvid, Frey, and Dharvey were already having their classes. Usually in the afternoon, each of them would be having their major classes of their degree so they don't usually meet each other unless they plan to go home together.
Angeal was in her Stylistics class, listening to Professor Leon. He was already telling the class what tasks they would be doing for the week, already giving them what they would have to do today.
It was also known to the class that Professor Leon is Angeal's father. When they knew about it through rumors that spread ironically from the faculty room, the people who knew were surprised and now understood why their resemblance is uncanny.
Angeal looked like the female version of Professor Leon. Other than that, they both share the same interest in writing—the difference is that Professor Leon lived to teach how to write, and Angeal learned to make stories.
"Now," Professor Leon said as he wrote two titles of a poems on the board, the eyes of the students focused on it. "We would be doing The Passionate Shepherd and The Nymph's Reply."
When the students read the two titles on the board, most of them weren't familiar of the titles. They stared at Professor Leon expectantly, waiting for him to explain further what they are about to do for today's class.
Since this is Stylistics class, the students already expected what they were about to do.
Stylistics is a branch of applied linguistics concerned with the study of style in texts, especially, but not exclusively, in literary works.
Also called literary linguistics, stylistics focuses on figures, tropes, and other rhetorical devices used to provide variety and a distinctness to someone's writing.
If not a short story or a novel to study, sometimes, poems can be used for literary studies in Stylistics.
"We will be studying two poems today namely, 'The Passionate Shepherd To His Love' by Christopher Marlowe, and "The Nymph's Reply To The Shepherd' by Sir Walter Raleigh. For further information, Christopher made his poem in the year 1599, and Walter's, in the year 1600."
As everyone was about to reach out to their phones for them to do a research, Professor Leon called out their attention by clapping his hands thrice, surprising most of his students to stop them from using their smartphones.
"Hey, if you search everything on the net, what will you learn?" he reprimanded, everyone's eyes on him as he leaned on his desk, continuing to speak. "You are to study two poems, correct? We have discussed about ways on how to study poems the other day, now I want you to do just that."
With what Professor Leon had instructed, everyone got their notebook instead, getting a piece of paper at the same time to jot down what they have observed from the two poems.
"Since you are given two poems, you are going to do comparing and contrasting. Once you start, you would find it interesting—the connection of the two poems," he said further as he flashed on the white board the two poems, beside each other.
The moment the two poems flashed before the students, most of them smiled, seeing how each stanza of the different poems came out to be replying to each other.
"Now with what I told you, you are given the whole period to do your study about the poems. Five minutes before the bell rings, submit your papers then you are free to go."
With the instructions now finalized, everyone went silent as they read the poem, the students already making notes before doing an in-depth analysis of each.
Angeal, however, read each poem at the same time, reading one stanza for the other, and another stanza for the second. In this way, she would see how the two poems were connected.

THE PASSIONATE SHEPHERD TO HIS LOVE
First:
Come live with me and be my Love,
And we will all the pleasures prove
That hills and valleys, dale and field,
And all the craggy mountains yield,
THE NYMPH'S REPLY TO THE SHEPHERD
First:
If all the world and love were young,
And truth in every shepherd's tongue,
These pretty pleasures might me move
To live with thee and be thy love.

From the first stanzas of the two poems, Angeal wrote on her notes the two characters namely the shepherd and the nymph. Since the poem was made in 1599, obviously, the poem by Sir Walter Raleigh was made to reply to the poem Christopher Marlowe had done.

Second:
There will we sit upon the rocks
And see the shepherds feed their flocks,
By shallow rivers, to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.
THE NYMPH'S REPLY TO THE SHEPHERD
Second:
Time drives the flocks from field to fold.
When rivers rage and rocks grow cold;
And Philomel becometh dumb;
The rest complain of cares to come.

From what Angeal has read from the first poem, she deduced that it was a pastoral lyric—a poetry that expresses emotions in an idyllic setting. It is associated with Shepherds writing music to their flocks. The tradition goes back to David in the bible and Hesiod, the Greek poet.
As for the Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd, Angeal has yet to read more in order for her to deduce what else she would find out.
"Hmm…" 
Angeal tapped the tip of her pen on the table as she blankly stared at the poem by Sir Walter Raleigh, mumbling to herself at the same time. 
"This is more than just a reply."
"That's right."
When Professor Leon spoke, Angeal was startled for a bit as she did not notice that the professor was actually behind her, getting everyone's attention as each student looked at their instructor.
"The poem by Sir Walter Raleigh is more than just a reply to the shepherd. Look closely—read between the lines. Look at its theme—look at the words used. Do not only skim above the surface."
With his reminder said, he continued walking about in the room, the students continuing their task at hand. 
Angeal then continued reading the following stanzas of the poems, in hopes that she would understand what she was missing.


"Devin, do you love me?"

Hearing her question that had snapped him out of his thoughts, the Soul Eater opened his eyes slowly to meet her blue eyes once more. He smiled foolishly as his right hand reached out to her face, his thumb caressing her bottom lip.

"Is that a question you dare ask your husband?"

Angeal pouted like a child. 

"Tell me you love me... or I’ll cry."

Devin chuckled, making Angeal pout more as she narrowed her eyes at him. When Devin ceased his jovial laughter, he didn’t answer her question. Instead, he bent down as he pulled her closer to him, his lips smoothly landing on hers to give her a loving kiss. 

’I love you, Angeal. Before I even knew it, my heart yearned for you.’

Punished by the Almighty Seraphim, Devin was branded a fallen angel and was given a curse to become a Soul Eater—a being who is hungry for souls and feeds on them for sustenance.

Devin was bound on earth, looking for clues on how to cure his irrevocable curse until a desperate old man saw the Soul Eater and begged him to save his newborn granddaughter’s life.

However... it comes with the price of selling both of their souls. 

With the old man giving both of their lives to the Soul Eater, what path lies ahead for Angeal as she grows in a house full of magical immortals?

The Almighty Seraphim sighed, shaking herself from her thoughts. She then spoke, planting more curiosity in the mind of the Dominion who was watching over the Soul Eater. 

"Continue watching over them. She is his cure, but it will lead her to oblivion.”

With the Soul Eater cursed and with them eventually knowing that the sweet innocent girl he saved is the cure, will their relationship be a boon or a bane?

Will they perhaps have sweet love, forbidden love... or maybe even both?

With the given thoughts at hand, will fate bless their lives... or curse them even more?

Everyone's lives are now practically caught in series of unexpected twists and turns. As they are to face the challenges that are thrown at them, what would everyone do as everyone is in it for a shocking revelation about their fate? Will they fight for friendship, freedom, or for love?

The words "Library" looked extremely proper. Lu Shu could not hide his excitement. He looked around secretly and stepped into the library since he did not see anyone around.
Lu Shu was thinking, could there be a guard around in an important place like the library?! After all, it contained the books of the entire palace of the King of Gods!
However, when Lu Shu walked in, nobody stopped him. There was nobody in the library.
He took a few steps behind and pushed a door near the cottage. Then, he saw a man sitting with his legs crossed on the ground with a sword in its sheath. When the man heard the door open, he opened his eyes. However, when he opened his eyes, the door was already closed. 
Lu Shu walked into the library feeling bothered. "Isn't there someone here, not everyone has gone to the Sword Hut selections. Why isn't anyone guarding the library, which is an important place?"
As he said that, he stepped into the library. As he walked, he examined the orientation of the room. When he saw the first two rows of shelves, he was stunned. It was difficult to look at these books, they were the poems of the king?!
Were the people crazy? Why did they keep such books?
Lu Shu sighed. He thought the Sword Hut was different but it was just as old-fashioned!
Old-fashioned!
He randomly grabbed a book and flipped. He was stunned almost immediately. The first poem was "Quiet Night Thought" written by Li Bai[1]! 
The poem was printed within and the author's name was handwritten!
"Don't tell me the owner of the Sword Hut wrote it," exclaimed Lu Shu.
He had always been curious. In the past, someone told him that the owner of the Sword Hut went to the palace of the King of Gods to fight with the old King of Gods for the poems of the king. At that moment, he wondered if the owner of the Sword Hut was someone from Earth? 
There were also rumors saying how the owner of the Sword Hut was a child adopted by the old King of Gods when he was out on a vacation. Therefore, Lu Shu was thinking, perhaps he went to Earth and copied so many poems?
Therefore, the owner of the Sword Hut should have come from Earth too…
Therefore, the owner of the Sword Hut did not expose the old King of Gods blatantly but instead helped to take care of his reputation. However, the books in the Sword Hut's Library was filled with handwritten information regarding the book's author and place of origin…
Initially, Lu Shu was not very interested in the library but he suddenly became extremely interested…
He felt as though his heart was burning with the urge to find out more. He revealed such a big secret by randomly flipping through a book?
He wanted to take every book out to flip through them. Then, Lu Shu realized that the owner of the Sword Hut had written down the author of every poem. Of course, the owner of the Sword Hut was not someone who studied the old poems. Therefore, it was understandable that they did not know who the author of certain poems were.
However, even if they did not know who the author was, they still wrote a small line of words at the back of the poem. Although Lu Shu did not know who wrote it, he was certain that it was not written by that particular person.
Tsk tsk, Lu Shu was initially mad with how the old King of Gods got rid of his backup plan. Now that he saw what the owner of the Sword Hut did, he suddenly felt relieved…
After a very long time spent flipping through the books, Lu Shu regained his senses and realized that the sun had set. At this moment, he heard footsteps outside the library. Then, he heard Gu Lingfei's voice. "What is going on, how can he go missing in the Sword Hut? If he disappeared, you guys are in trouble!"
Suddenly, Gu Lingfei stopped in front of the library of the cottage and turned. Both Gu Lingfei and Lu Shu's eyes met.
Lu Shu was about to say that he entered to take a look at the books. Since he was young, he loved to read books… Then, he suddenly realized that Gu Lingfei's expression turned to a look of disbelief. It was the first time she showed that expression on her beautiful face.
Gu Lingfei was shocked. "How did you get in? Who allowed you to go in?"
Lu Shu was unhappy. Nobody was guarding the library and there was no rule stating that nobody could enter. Why couldn't he enter? He said while looking at Gu Lingfei, "I am here to browse the books…"
"You…" Gu Lingfei was panicking. She tried to take a step into the library of the cottage and before her feet could touch the ground, the sound of a sword could be heard echoing throughout the library. It was an extremely sharp sound. 
Lu Shu looked up in shock. He suddenly realized that the grass of which the cottage was made up of turned as dangerous as swords! The library was a sword formation! 
At this moment, he finally understood why Gu Lingfei panicked. No wonder the place was left unguarded. Ordinary people could not even enter, including Master Gu Lingfei!
Gu Lingfei asked coldly, "Teacher had left for so many years and nobody could enter! Why can you enter?!"
Lu Shu was confused. "That's right, how did I enter?"
As he said that, Lu Shu stepped into the deep corners of the library and Gu Lingfei demanded in a low voice, "Get out now!"
Lu Shu said nonchalantly, "You come in and get me…"
Although Lu Shu did not understand why others could not enter but he could, he knew that if he went out and was caught by Gu Lingfei, he would never have the chance to go in again!
Therefore, he could not go out. Moreover, the way back home was in the library! Or rather, he wanted to dig out all the secrets in the library before he left!
Judging from how Gu Lingfei rushed Lu Shu out, it seemed like she had entered in the past and knew that it was an important place. However, that was precisely why Lu Shu wanted to stay.
Moreover, if the Master could not enter the cottage, it was the safest place…
However, Lu Shu thought that even though the owner of the Sword Hut had exceeded the Master realm, they would not be able to prevent a master from entering by randomly plotting a sword formation. Gu Lingfei probably did not attack because she was worried that she would destroy the entire library. 
Lu Shu did not know that all the seven Masters of the Sword Hut had entered the library and was taught by the owner of the Sword Hut.
This was the second most mysterious place, apart from the rear mountain, in the Sword Hut. Only those of the Master Realm could enter. After the owner of the Sword Hut left hurriedly 12 years ago, nobody could enter the library at all.
As Lu Shu walked, he suddenly discovered that the library only had poems of the king… He did not believe it initially but after touring the entire library, he confirmed that there were only poems of the king….
His face turned black immediately. Were all the books hidden?!

This novella is quick, sweet romance. Kate was with her boyfriend for two years in a dead end relationship. A chance sighting at a job interview places Kate at her dream job and in the presence of her future. She meets Ernst who is seemingly living a double life. Fate draws them together for a HEA. The story was told from a third party point of view. It was very descriptive and the plot was clear and easy to follow. While you knew the plot and where it was going, at times the wording was very stilted, which could lead to some confusion when reading. This also made it difficult for me to connect with the characters and truly invest in the story.

A prompt from Byron to write a ghost story, she considered
Morning after morning when all she replied with a negative
It was from one of her wakeful nights, a story she would give

She saw her ghost fable in front of her eyes, with signs of life
She was frightened and spent the night in uneasy wakerife
She began writing her dream and it became "Frankenstein"
She realised that she had stepped out from childhood wherein


When two of her children met with unexpected death
She turned to writing, weeping and holding her breath
She channelled her thoughts on her political freedom
She came up with novels and plays in creative wisdom

She financially aided the women whom society disapproved
It was not in boast, but simple justice that she was moved
She was a political radical throughout her life with empathy
She reformed the society through cooperation and sympathy

During Jiang Shiqin's trip to the Distant Lands, an incident happened.

As he had been traveling with the Autumn Pavillion for protection and convenience's sake, Jiang Shiqin had spent the entire trip in their temporary residences, which numbered in the hundreds across the continent, or first-class inns that were no different that a noble's lounging. It was also natural that his food and accommodation expenses were covered by the generous Master Wu, and that there wasn't a single copper coin on his body.

Which was why here he stood, staring at the restaurant owner's outstretched hands, devoid of a single glimpse of hope. 

"Brother," Jiang Shiqin donned a smile that was as elegant as a moonlight rhapsody. "I have been travelling the lands for years, and did not notice my dwindling funds. Would you be so kind as to let me pay you back with another form of payment?"

The restaurant was merely a tiny establishment in a poor town, and the owner's rough bearing showed his familiarity with hard labour. "What kind of payment?" The owner asked, a scowl on his wrinkled face.

Jiang Shiqin kept his refined smile, and the elegance seeping from him was akin to an immortal's grace. "Brother, this one is untalented and cannot do much. Seeing as your lovely restaurant lacked a poem to highlight its splendidness, how about I gift a poem to you?"

The owner's scowl deepened. "Why'd I need some random poem? This is not your cultured establishments in the capital, boy. We don't care about those pretty but useless things here." He scoffed in disdain.

"How about this," he continued. "My son's preparing for the national examinations. If you're good enough to compose a poem, teach him for one afternoon and I won't mention this matter anymore."

Jiang Shiqin's eyes lit up. If the owner had insisted on taking money, he would have been forced to ask for help from the Autumn Pavillion, and his reputation as a polished scholarly young man would have gone to smoke. 

As a matter of fact, he also wanted to experience new things once in a while, just like how he had insisted on coming to this town alone because of his curiosity. Might he happen to be incredibly suited to tutoring? Perhaps he could earn extra income if he suddenly had to run away and went into seclusion? That was very much a possibility - he had no way to ensure that he wouldn't be targeted one day.

Jiang Shiqin spoke in agreement, and the owner led him to a shabby room behind the restaurant. There was a boy around ten years old carefully reading a yellowed and frayed book. He had delicate features, a far cry to the owner's course ones, and his eyes were glimmering like a pair of jet black pearls.

"Ah Qiu, this' a tutor I found for you."

The boy named Ah Qiu looked up, and his exquisite small face, sure to become an outstanding beauty in the future, made Jiang Shiqin a little worried about his safety. 

"Dad, it's alright that you bought this book and some others for me. I can slowly learn them, no need to spend money to invite a tutor for me."

The owner laughed, and ruffled the boy's hair with fondness.

"This is somebody who ate at our restaurant. He did not bring money, and so asked to pay in another way. Seeing as he was fluent in words and had a cultured bearing, I wanted to try out a bit, and convinced him to become your teacher for half a day."

Ah Qiu, looking more relieved than before, nodded and gave his father a blooming smile.

"Thanks, dad. Ah Qiu will learn well."

The owner left, not forgetting to gave Jiang Shiqin a warning look. Jiang Shiqin simply smiled in response and brought a stool in front of the worn table where the boy was sitting.

"Ah Qiu, is it? Is there any place you don't understand or something you would like to learn more about?" 

The boy fell into a deep trance. After a minute, he shook his head. 

Was this boy a genius? Or - more likely, he didn't know what he didn't know. 

Jiang Shiqin raised his eyebrows. "Are you sure about that? You truly have no question?" 

Ah Qiu's face was honest and lacked any hint of arrogance when he replied. 

"Yes, Mister."

Seeing Jiang Shiqin's strange expression, Ah Qiu hastiliy added. "Actually, there's something I really need help with. The Spring and Autumn Annals that Dad bought me is missing a section. Can I trouble Mister to fill it for me?" 

Jiang Shiqin wanted to bash his head against the wall. As a person from modern times, he had never felt the need to memorize the Four Books and the Five Classics mechanically, especially when his family background in this ancient era didn't require that he studied too hard. This was one of the rare few times in his life that he was feeling flustered.

He managed to squeeze out a few words without changing his expression. "Ah Qiu, you can always ask your father to buy you the missing information. It's quite rare that you met somebody like me here. How about asking a more advanced question?" 

The boy seemed to be muttering under his breath, but nodded obediently anyway.


"Ah... Then can you help me copy down some famous poems in this era? All that I have right now is the classics, but I would really like to broaden my horizons and read my contemporaries' work - I mean, read the work of contemporary great masters."

Looking at that bright pair of eyes with a hint of expectation, Jiang Shiqin could not do anything but agree to his request.

Thus, he spent his first day as a tutor as a free copying machine, writing down poems after poems while Ah Qiu continued reading his book. The atmosphere was peaceful and harmonious. 

When the rosy light of an imminent sunset shone through gaps of the roof, Jiang Shiqin finally stopped and handed the work he had written with care on bamboo sticks to Ah Qiu.

He had at the very least been useful, right? Right? Even if he didn't do anything a tutor should have done - he had not been a worthless burden, right? 

When the boy saw the stack of poems, which had burned half of his reserve of bamboo sticks, his face twitched a little. However, the ignorant Jiang Shiqin decided to attribute it to awe of his magnificent calligraphy.

"This master," said Ah Qiu sweetly. His face had resumed his adorable look. "Ah Qiu don't know how to thank you for your grace anymore. Might I know your distinguished name? In the future, if there's a chance, I will surely repay you for your kindness today."

Somehow, he had twisted Jiang Shiqin's image from a swindler who didn't pay for his meal into a noble character. Flattering rich and powerful-looking people who could step on you like an ant was a skill necessary for survival. Jiang Shiqin was a perfect image of a young master from an aristocratic family on  a stroll - elegant and refined, and had no idea about the need for money. Ah Qiu mentally praised himself. 

The supposed young master replied with a smile. "I am called Jiang Shiqin. May we meet again in the future."

At these words, Ah Qiu seemed surprised, but quickly regained his composure and bid goodbye. Thus did Jiang Shiqin's one and only attempt of becoming a tutor ended without a splash.

Ah Qiu looked at the retreating figure. His mind was a mess.

"System, is that really him? That Jiang Shiqin? The protagonist of the story?"

The system replied in affirmation. "There's no doubt about that. Everything about this person matches the info in the database."

Ah Qiu frowned. "Then why exactly is he here at this dirt-poor town? Shouldn't he be at the capital seducing people and building that famed harem of his that spares neither men nor women?"

The system seemed troubled at this plot deviation as well. At last, it suggested. "Since you transmigated here, it probably means that this world is open to external influences. It wouldn't be strange if something went haywire in the capital."

The boy was dumbfounded. "Doesn't that mean... My knowledge about the book's plot can't be used anymore? One of my golden fingers has disappeared?"

The system hastily replied. "Host, it's not the end of the world! You still have your knowledge as a modern entity from the twenty-first century, still have your super memory, and most of all, still have the heaven-defying bio intelligence that is the superb me..."

A hundred meters away, Jiang Shiqin seemed to have heard someone's heartwrenching cry. He shrugged and continued walking, not knowing that his presence here had completely disrupted the majestic plans of a young boy, or that, unknowingly, he had indirectly thrown the world many years later into chaos.

When Jiang Shiqin arrived at the Distant Lands governed by the five great sects, he was forcefully pulled into the underlying currents of history. In a time when righteousness obscures murder and friendship is worth less than a cup of wine, an individual's strength is insignificant.

Life favours no one.

In my days where I really had a hard time, I used to mostly sit; In doleful thoughts.
My mother came to me and she said very gently: "Emma, I don't think this is very helpful to you. Why don't you use a better coping method?"

I sat there and thought for a few minutes, and came to a realization.
She was indeed correct, mental health doesn't become better by moaning and groaning within your pain. 
I decided to utilize my talents to capture my thoughts, where I could understand them more easily. 
But how?
I mulled over it, practicing my violin helped very much, but something was still missing. 
My mind needed more exercise and attention.

One day I decided to pick writing back up.
I had taken a few month's break, but thought maybe I would create a story.
I wrote some, but still, I found a piece wasn't there.

It was poetry.
After thinking some, I happened to scribble some poems I thought were coming from inside. 
I read them over and over again, and found them to be very pleasing to not only me; But everyone I showed. 

It was then, I wanted to make a career out of it.
This satisfies and takes so much of my time. 

In my troubles, I write.
They all come from my heart and mind. 
It doesn't judge nor belittle me, but sees me as its creator. 
They accompany me when I'm alone, and need help.
Honestly, poetry are my feelings, they guide and propel me to write. 
They speak lovingly to me, and reach for my hand, so that I may place them upon paper.

The sadness sings gloomily, exclaiming its doom and imperfection.
It reminds me how I've failed and fell down, where I thought I could stand. 

Nervousness asks me what I'm doing, and I answer: "Nothing" ; And sit staring at the floor disconsolately. 
Like a choir, my feelings sing, each different emotions, taking their turn to tell their stories. 
Aroused by their harmonies in my ears, I feel the urge to write them down in my thinking.
Singularly describing and recalling each message they ring.
In the end, a surge of happiness overtakes me; I see before me, my work written as musical instruments of the heart. 

I've yearned for a satisfying coping method so much.
God gave me these poems.
These along with music, are the best hobbies I could ever ask for.

I do like going outside, the sunshine is warm and calming.
But I felt the need to mostly exercise my mind and emotions over my body. 
I do have a job, which is very hard work, and I required poetry to soothe the hectic anxiety. 

Inside me, is where everything works the hardest.
Thanks to my writing, I can pull from within, what my mind is trying to say to me.

This novel is encompassed within poetry, thrillers, romance, and reality. It basically holds the content of my mind. I also write for encouragement and creativity.

This book is about what I experience in life: Negative thoughts, bad experiences, and trauma.
I use my book to record my dreams and nightmares I’ve had as well, using poetry to describe them.
It holds my thoughts and feelings which I feel every day. 

While I did not intend my novel to be completely understandable, my intentions are to relate and perhaps encourage others who like myself; Experience fierce depression.
My plan is to make the reader feel and see some of what I see and feel.


As a Christian, I seek to utilize my book to point to Christ in every difficult situation. He has helped and molded me into who I am today. Christ will deliver His children, in need of aid.

I sincerely hope this update of the synopsis, helps in your understanding of my poetry. Please let me know if you need more information. I have written some of my backstory and important information within my poems.

##When I first wrote this book, I did not plan on writing poetry. If I could change the category out of fan-fiction, I would.

I feel like my novel may start a bit slow, but continuing to read, it will build up and intensify.  ;)

I tried over and over again to update it, but there may be a glitch or something. I’m sorry if you see it too.
Just to clarify, I tried to write the word as “Indefatigably.”

"Seiji, what did you say to that girl?"
When he returned to where Mika and Chiaki were standing, Seiji was instantly peppered with their questions.
"I just wanted to ask her name and grade to start a conversation with her, but I failed." Seiji shrugged.
"Did you really fail? It seemed like you were getting along pretty well." Chiaki blinked innocently, "Mika was even getting jealous."
"Not at all!" Once again, Mika was the unwitting target of her friend’s teasing, but her face was indeed slightly flushed red.
"I just… felt like she was really cute, but she had a cold aura about her. It seemed that it would be difficult to talk with her, so… I was impressed with Seiji being able to talk with her so easily."
"No, it wasn’t easy at all," Seiji sighed lightly, "I just wanted to greet her, but she immediately quizzed me on two poems… I almost wasn’t able to follow up."
"But that means you were still able to respond—amazing!" Chiaki gave him a thumbs-up, "In my opinion, for girls that love literature, as long as you can converse about her favorite topics, it’s relatively easy to capture their heart. If you make a sincere effort, maybe you can even get her phone number!"
"Forget it, I really can’t deal with her type." Seiji smiled wryly before realizing what Chiaki just said. "Why would I want a middle schooler’s phone number!? Chiaki, you sound so certain… Do you usually…"
Chiaki Wakaba’s expression suddenly became unnaturally stiff, and then she conspicuously looked away while whistling.
Seiji and Mika were rendered speechless upon seeing Chiaki’s reaction.
Unfortunately, the two leaders of the drama club failed to convince Shika Kagura to join.
While Shika Kagura was indeed beautiful, her personality was entirely unsuited to be on stage, so the president had wasted her effort in ‘capturing’ Shika this time.
Anya Saigenji didn’t seem disappointed at all, though—it seemed that she derived the most joy from the process of hunting down potential members.
"Chiaki’s good friend, Mika Uehara, and transfer student, Seigo Harano—are the two of you interested in joining the drama club!?"
With her eyes sparkling, Anya Saigenji directly questioned the two observers.
"I’m in the tennis club…"
"I still want to check more clubs out—I haven’t made a final decision yet."
"Acting is really fun! Why don’t you try on some costumes first? I’m sure that you’ll awaken a new passion!" Saigenji eagerly began trying to tempt the two of them to join.
*Smack!* The vice president who disagreed with deceiving students in this way stopped her with a book again.
"We’re about to begin our club activities—feel free to watch." Sheena Shiho smiled amicably to the two of them before sighing: "By the way, could I trouble you guys to take care of that girl the Prez dragged here? She’s quite cold to us, and she won’t even tell us her name… Maybe she’s angry at us…"
"No… you guys just didn’t pass her test." Seiji answered reflexively.
"Huh?" Sheena was confused.
"I just chatted a little with her… From my perspective, I don’t think she hates you guys, nor does she care about being dragged here… she’ll probably leave automatically once the time comes."
"Oh…" Sheena nodded, unsure of whether or not to believe him.
"Harano-kun, were you able to learn her name!?" Anya was quite perceptive.
Seiji nodded.
"Amazing! Please tell me her maiden name!" Anya suddenly put her face up close against Seiji, and her blue eyes were sparkling in anticipation.
Her actions resembled those of a certain rich girl with long and straight black hair from the anime called Hyouka; they were only missing her adding on the phrase: "I’m curious! I want to know!"
She was close enough for Seiji to smell her fragrant scent, and he unconsciously took a step backwards.
"Her name… erm… even though I’d really like to tell you, I’d better not."
"Don’t be like that—tell me!" Anya forced herself closer again.
*Smack!* The vice president restrained Anya yet again.
"If she doesn’t want to tell us her name, then we shouldn’t ask any more." Sheena dragged the president away by her shirt’s collar, "We can let you take care of that girl, right?"
Seiji nodded.
The drama club finally began their activities.
Seiji and Mika were careful not to disturb the members as they explored the clubroom.
"These costumes are made with care."
"The scenery backdrops and stage props are quite impressive as well—it seems like much thought was put into their designs."
The atmosphere in the clubroom also impressed them—although it was disorganized and chaotic earlier, the moment they officially began club activities, they all turned serious, making them seem like the major club they were.
Seiji and Mika unconsciously felt affected by their attitude, and they started feeling bad about being idle, thinking that it was incongruous with the club’s atmosphere.
"It’s so different from the tennis club…" Mika sighed.
"Do you think it’s better in here? How about changing clubs, then?" Seiji said.
"I… wish that our club would be a little more serious, but if they were all as serious as Wakaba’s club, then it would seem…"
Although it seemed like a waste if they weren’t serious enough, it was a lot of pressure if everyone was too serious. Seiji could understand Mika, since this was something that many students would think, even if it was self-contradictory.
"Seigo, how about you? Do you want to join the drama club?"
"Well, I’m a little interested in acting, and Wakaba’s club looks pretty lively, but I still need to go to work, so it might not be possible for me to participate in club activities as seriously as I’d like." Seiji shrugged.
"Is that so…"
The two of them observed for a while longer, before Mika glanced at the middle school girl who was reading her book silently.
Seiji gazed briefly in her direction as well and exchanged glances with Mika.
"I think we’ve observed enough—let’s call her and leave together."
Mika nodded in agreement.
Seiji walked back over to Shika Kagura again.
"Kagura-san, if you don’t intend to join this club, how about leaving together with us? Let’s not disturb their club activities any longer."
Shika Kagura lifted her head and lightly glanced over at the boy in front of her, before she closed her poetry book and stood up.
She was surprisingly obedient… Seiji scratched his face.
He indicated to Mika that they should leave now, and they said goodbye to Wakaba and the others as they left the drama club together.
"Seigo Harano, do you still need me for anything?"
When they reached a practice field, Shika Kagura suddenly asked a question.
"Er… no, you can go wherever you want." Seiji looked deeply at this unique girl with a cold aura and said, "Although I’m not from the drama club, I’d still like to apologize on their behalf for taking up your time. That president… even though she’s a little eccentric, she’s a nice person at heart. Please don’t mind her."
"I know," Shika Kagura answered lightly as she looked up at the setting sun. "Appearances may be a disguise, actions may be faked, and you may see nothing but hypocrisy. Only the heart is true."
"…Another one of Taylor’s poems?"
"No, that was from Lee Yuan."
‘A Chinese… no, Huaxia poem?’ Seiji blinked.
"Actually, I don’t really know much about poetry. I was just lucky earlier when I was able to respond to your poem." He honestly informed the girl.
Kagura was silent.
"I’m sorry if you felt like I was deceiving you," Seiji smiled wryly, "but I didn’t have any bad intentions—if you don’t mind the fact that I know nothing about poems, we can still be friends."

She remained silent.
He supposed this was how it was. Seiji didn’t mind being ignored or rejected as this was commonplace for him.
"I don’t need friends," she spoke up in her soft voice, "I… don’t like poems either."
Once again, her words were like bubbles that disappeared in the wind.
"Oh…" Seiji was surprised.
Before he was able to figure out what she meant, she turned around and left.
Seiji and Mika speechlessly watched her silhouette depart.
"She’s… rather unusual." That was Mika’s opinion.
"Yeah…" Seiji was a bit concerned about her, but it was obvious that she wanted to be by herself, so he couldn’t chase after her.
‘She doesn’t need friends… this could be seen as a middle schooler’s immaturity, but what could she mean when she said she didn’t really like poems?’ Seiji mulled over her words for a while, but he eventually decided to give up.
Either way, he was unlikely to meet her very often, since she was a middle schooler.
"Seiji, do you still want to look at any other clubs?"
"Nah, that’s enough for today. I’d like to go home now—how about you?"
"I’ll go home as well with you."
As he left school together with Mika, Seiji ceased thinking about the previous events. His mind was filled with anticipation regarding his new system options!

Sonias POV;.... 

It's night and we've all chosen spots under trees to sleep in. This isn't oaklin valley so we can't sleep inside the trees. 

I have lazily set my sheets and I've been rolling and tossing about. I can't for some reason sleep. Desmond is far in dream land with his arm wrapped around my waist. 

I move gently into a sitting position but leave his arm around my waist to avoid waking him up. ~also cause I like it there. 

I pull out Toris journal. The past pages have been poems she's written. Pretty cool poems. Tori had alot of talents she hid well. 

I am about to start reading when I spot Gabby sitting with he kneels to her chest and her arm holding them put. She looks worried and I can swear I see tears escape her eyes. 

I gently move Desmonds arm off my waist and tuck the journal back into my bag before carefully making my way to Gabby. 

I sit beside her and she quickly wipes her tears as she sights me. 

"What's wrong sis? "I question. 

"Nothing "she lies with a false smile and I frown. 

"Gabby don't lie to me. I've stayed long enough with you to know when you're bothered." I reply and she looks at me. 

"The thing is; we're all escaping from a horrid past to a hopefully better future. Right?" She questions. 

"Right." I reply a bit confused. 

"Well you all have something you're returning to but I've got nothing. I mean you have a family to return to and people who have been missing you but what have I got?. "She takes a quick pause. 

"All I had was Julica and aunt. Suzi. Do I return to the same woman who sold me? Or... Or.. Do I settle as a street kid once we make it out, do I join an orphanage home? Do I become a worker for a church? What do I do Sonia? " she questions as tears escape her eyes and I feel my heart quake. 

"Sonia, i have seen and known my past but my future is still a strong fog of uncertainty to me. 

I know from what I'm running but to what I'm running remains unknown. "She says as she finally breaks down. 

I wrap my arms around her as my own tears shimmy down my face. 

"Oh Gabby. "Is all I can manage to say. 

My eyes widen as an idea strikes me. I recall how I've always ever wanted a sister of my age and how my mom always said I'm getting too much love from her for being the only girl and it would only be fair if another girl came along. 

"My family can always take you in." I state. 

"What? "She questions in awe. 

"Yes Gabby, my family is financially stable enough and we've always wanted I've always wanted a sister. It would be total fun and i'm sure my family won't mind. "I state as she stares at me. 

"Trust me." I plead and she smiles as she breaks into my arms. 

"Well now I finally have an un identical twin. "I chuckle as I hug her warmly and we maintain peaceful silence a little longer till we decide it's high time we get to bed. 

I carefully make it over to Desmonds side and lay close enough to him to feel his warmth. 

I'm still in thoughts when I hear him mumble; 

"Deborah" 

I turn to face him in shock as he mumbles my name again. ~so I'm not the only one guilty of this beautifully embarrassing act. 

I smile as I plant a kiss on his peaceful, perfect lips. 

"I love you Desmond. "I confess as I stare down at the boy whos mended my broken heart and thought me there's more to me than meets my eyes. 

The same one who's taught me that love does exist and he is the right one for me.

The cold breeze in my face, clinging tightly to my bare arms. My arms wrapped around my torso in an attempt to keep me warm. Tears streaming down my face as memories of Harry's cruel betrayal flood my mind. Of all days, he chose my birthday to hurt me. 

My red pumps creating a gentle click sound with every contact it made with the tarred road. Creating the only sound the night breeze brings to my ears. Asides my sobs and the distant barks of the neighborhood dogs. 

My third sense is sudden activated as I sense I'm being followed. I smell danger. Walking alone on such desolate streets doesn't seem like the best idea I could have come up with. I wasn't thinking straight when I made that choice. I should have called my driver to come get me!. 

This creepy feeling becomes more intense and I decide to do the one thing I know I'm good at; run!. 

I throw my purse and phone away as I begin to run in frenzy I feel something hot on my trail, when I look back, all I see is dark fog. The more reason to run faster. 

The road fairly lit by moonlight, my heart in my mouth and prayers of help and mercy escaping my lips. 
Finally, I hear music playing from loud speakers. I'm close to civilization!. 

I keep running frantically. One of my pumps gone. Soon I see a club in sight with a few people outside. I begin to scream for help when a figure suddenly appears before me. In fear, I make to run in the opposite direction but another figure is right behind me. 

Next thing I know; i'm surrounded by darkness.
