"Upon completion, you will receive the title [Manga Artist] (Drawing skills +3, design +3, scriptwriting +3.)"
There was only one phase for this task and finishing it would reward him 100 points.
Possessing a manga novel series and publishing one volume was enough to retain the title of a manga artist.
The title also came with three additional attributes.
Drawing skills, including the basic foundations and techniques, had been learned by Meng Fan after receiving the drawing skill attributes. Moreover, this drawing technique bonus didn't just include animation techniques, but other types as well. Only Meng Fan's current jobs were all related to manga.
Drawing skills would give him the abilities of a well-rounded artist.
The design included character design, environment design, stylizing, and more.
Screenwriting included dramas, adaptations, plot designs, segmentations and so on.
From the description, it was the full set of skills needed to produce a series of manga novels.
Meng Fan understood that the success of a manga would be inseparable from these three attributes. If he could attain these add-ons, it would be incredible. These attributes were also what every animation and manga student dreamed of.
If there was another related attribute that was more refined that came later, then it would be even more perfect.
Meng Fan had chosen to study drawing, specifically animation as his major. Obviously, he didn't want to just be an illustrator to get by. His ultimate goal was to become an anime practitioner.
He wanted to partake in the production of animations, as well as creating his own manga. These were all within Meng Fan's scope of pursuit.
He began to design his first manga early on already. In high school, the results had come to an eventual end. Meng Fan became in awe of manga creating.
Since he began college, Meng Fan did not give up his dream of creating a manga, only he never thought about it or tried to start one. He needed more power to prepare for the day his drawing abilities and his scriptwriting skills were at a satisfactory level. His specific field-based research had been enough to support at least half of the manga... So once he felt that everything was up to par and the timing was right, he would then begin the process of creating a manga.
After being reincarnated, because of the rewards the task [Illustrator] had netted, Meng Fan was very clear as to where his current drawing skills stood. Presently, Meng Fan's skills could certainly support the production of a manga, his drawing techniques, in particular, were enough to exceed half of the professional manga artists out there.
As for design, he was always been a leader in this aspect.
Those things, coupled with his hand speed, could mostly solve the two important factors of efficiency and perseverance.
Although [Illustrator] had awarded him with imagination, Meng Fan felt that what he lacked most was scriptwriting. This was the most important ability, far more important than drawing skills.
Now that there was an achievement task that could increase his scriptwriting skills, he was not prepared to begin a manga. Should he still go for it?
Of course!
To Meng Fan, it was a simple task.
One, it wasn't hard to create a series. Nowadays, Hua Xia's manga network was vast and made it easy for anyone who wanted to upload their manga series. Even if the system didn't recognize an online series, Meng Fan had a way of finding a manga network to officiate his series. The System couldn't have requirements for manga publishing studios right.
Two, it was also not difficult to issue a single volume. Finding a serialized website or a publishing house to help Meng Fan with the publication would be quite difficult, but worst case Meng Fan could pay to publish it himself. The system probably didn't require someone else to pay right? And he couldn't be too picky when it came to publishing platforms… right?
After publishing, he could probably kiss the idea of selling it goodbye. He could just give it out.
In the end, it was not difficult to produce a manga with his current drawing skills and imagination. It wasn't hard to create one, but its quality was a different topic.
The only thing that Meng Fan did not understand was how he had triggered the task. What was the trigger mechanism of the System?
If Meng Fan or Qin Jiao suggested the idea of creating a manga could trigger the task, then that would be understandable. But this was somebody else's business.
Was it because they mentioned creating a manga? But that doesn't make sense. Mr. Ma's professional class mentioned manga creation at least five times in each lecture, yet it did not trigger a task.
Or was it because the system heard that someone else wanted to create a manga and decided it was time Meng Fan made one too and tossed him a mission?
"What's wrong with you?" Qin Jiao noticed Meng Fan's sour look after agreeing.
"I'm not happy. What else could be wrong?"
After the task was triggered, Meng Fan's heart was prancing with joy, but he couldn't say so. He pretended to dissolve his grief and anger into an appetite, making Qin Jiao speechless.
Qin Jiao was powerless as well. "If you eat like this, nevermind ten kilometers, you won't lose any weight even if you run twenty kilometers a day!"
"I do run twenty kilometers a day, but it's the first time you're actually paying for a meal you invited me to!" Meng Fan continued to scarf down the food on the table.
"You're hopeless! Fine, eat as much as you can!"
"Where are you going?"
"The bathroom. What, are you scared I'm going to run?"
"Yes!"
"Then why don't you come along?"

It was 9 in the evening, and Ah Feng and Cai had just left the dormitory building to pull an all-nighter at the internet cafe. They hadn't walked far when they were stopped by someone.
"Young master Hu!"
The two shouted out a name that disgusted them but had sounded sweet to Hu Ting Song. They smiled and approached him, asking, "Do you need something from us?"
Hu Ting Song had a solemn expression as he pulled out a handful of cash. "Help me teach someone a lesson. Here's two thousand HXB for you guys to buy a smoke, as long as you don't use a knife I can help you cover it up."
The two smiled, insulting him in their minds.
'If you want us to teach someone a lesson, then we'll teach someone a lesson. Who uses a knife for that? We're not dumbasses.'
They took the money. "Who did our big brother dirty? One word from you is enough!"
Hu Ting Song bit his teeth and forced out two words. "Meng Fan."
"Who? That fat ass from the animation department?"
Ah Feng stuffed the money he had just received back into the hands of Hu Ting Song. His face turned bitter. "Young master Hu, anyone else would be fine, but him, we really can't!"
They both remembered the night they had run into Meng Fan when they were 'helping' Zhao Chang Gui straighten out Chen Da Qiang. The two wanted to cry at the thought. That feeling of being suppressed by one hand and the pain that followed at any point could not be understood by most people!
They thought about it again and understood why Hu Ting Song was so desperately looking for trouble. It seemed that the victim from the story of "Three thousand is more badass than ten thousand" on campus had been the guy standing in front of them!
Yes, this iron hero could f*cking run ten kilometers. Was that not terrifying!?
Hu Ting Song creased his brows. "You guys are still afraid of him?"
The two nodded in admittance. Cai thought for a moment. "How about, you think about some other ways to deal with him?"

Meng Fan still followed his original plan for the evening stream. There were no more novel illustrations, so he decided to draw some mecha. It was just that he had interacted only with Hua Xia's historical culture growing up. Since he also enjoyed it too, the 'mecha' gear had been heavily influenced by ancient Hua Xia history toward the direction of armor.
It was cool to engrave a Gundam with inscriptions of traditional thunderclouds and weavings. It was also convenient to add a yin yang based formation on a transformer!
Meng Fan ended the stream at nine o'clock sharp and continued to ponder his manga job in the studio.
As he thought about it, he took out his phone once again and began to sort through the ideas and inspirations he had collected over the years.
As he sorted through them, Meng Fan discovered he had actually made quite a lot of preparations to create his own manga. 
If anything, just the research alone was enough to support a historical type manga's character, style, and environment design.
And Meng Fan believed it was possible to begin from this aspect.
Although the achievement task of [Manga Artist] made Meng Fan ecstatic to complete it and gain its attributes, it could also be attained quickly. Meng Fan thought it through; he thought that the final product had to have a certain level of quality.
They weren't strict requirements, but he should at least be able to show it off. No matter what, it had to be worthy of his own drawing skills!


To reward Meng Fan for his bravery before his heroic death, the cosmos rewarded him with a 'system', sending him back in time to three months ago, alive.

Two weeks have passed once again, I have a meeting with Mr. Kawaguchi in the studio with everyone else, discussing what happened and the results for the AKATSUKA.

"So you guys got into a fight, well it's not for me to pry but you should be all aware of each other, how your talents will be wasted, all your efforts vanished and losing passion is one that could hurt the mangaka the most. I'm happy to see all of you here and making up for it."
"Yeah, sorry for the inconvenience."
"Not a problem at all, it does happen to every duo or a group. But I believe you guys are meant to be together, trust me your works are different from everyone else. Even your rival Makaino Joji is asking your audience if he calls himself a fan of your works, that's what I've heard."
"Huh, Makaino Joji is a fan of our work?"
"Yeah, with that I should tell you the final results of AKATSUKA."

My throat dried and it was hard to breathe with the heavy anticipation of what would be the words that will come out of Mr.Kawaguchi's mouth.

"Congratulations! You won the first prize!"
My eyes widened in disbelief, we won the AKATSUKA Awards. "SERIOUSLY!" everyone jumped in joy.
"HAHAHAHA, yes you guys got your first award. I have the papers for your claim and a gift as well."
"WE DID IT, AKI, WE DID IT, WE WON! WE TOOK A LEAP FROM OUR DREAM!" Reina hugged me tightly.
I remained speechless while everyone was happy, I only realized later on that I was already crying.
"WE DID IT! HAHAHA! I KNEW WE COULD DO IT!" Hiro proudly shouts our victory.

Yui and the twins were in a group hug crying in happiness. This is no longer a dream, we made it past the first obstacle, the healing wounds are now completely mended.
"Okay now that we are settled in, I'll discuss everything with you."
"Yes."
"First let's discuss the manga, I like this cut pose, too. Going with a realistic approach was really a good idea. The ones who judged were the assistant editor-in-chief and each group's captain."
"Why is it the assistant editor-in-chief and each group's captain and not the editor-in-chief?"
"Well, it would be biased for you guys, and he said that he knows your capabilities and he wants everyone to know it as well so he let them judge all submissions. And besides all of them are inexperienced with AKATSUKA"
"I see."
"Of course he has to approve everything, but most of the time the job is left to the assistant editor-in-chief and those below him. Even in SHOKUNEN JADE, he pretty much just approves the final choices. HAHAHAHA!"
"Wow he's really powerful and he has a tough job."
"Of course, hahahaha!"
I was kinda surprised that the editor-in-chief isn't part of the judges in choosing the stories in AKATSUKA.
"The manga was awesome, people loved the post-apocalyptic world setting in the story, the challenges and the thought of how to survive if they were in the place of the protagonist."
���Thank you, any remarks?"
"Nothing, everything else is perfect. The drawing fits perfectly, you all guys did a great job."

I had to ask the question, "Can we get serialized now?"
"....." Mr.Kawaguchi went silent for a couple of minutes then, "You can't with this manga though, it's already winter and christmas soon. Give me a manga worthy of serialization in New Year's selection and let's see how it goes."
"Why the new year?"
"The serialization for this year is done, and being part of the new year's selection has a big impact for the readers to see fresh new stories from new authors."
"So the higher the chances are to make the story popular?"
"Yes, every year the newcomers rank higher than the old ones, though it gradually settles down but the story would last longer than usual."
"So we just have to make it right?"
"Yes, and I bet you already got an approval from the editor-in-chief himself and as well as the group's captain. But don't keep your hopes up, this is just my opinion from what I saw from their comments."

"Let's go over the serialization again," I asked
"Uhm, I want to know a little history of how they serialize the manga as well." Nagi inserts her curiosity  
"Okay so this is how this works,  Manga magazines usually have many series running concurrently with approximately 20–40 pages allocated to each series per issue. Other magazines such as Newtype featured single chapters within their monthly periodicals. Other magazines like Nakayoshi feature many stories written by many different artists; these magazines, or "anthology magazines", as they are also known. Manga series can run for many years if they are successful. Manga artists sometimes start out with a few "one-shot" manga projects just to try to get their name out. If these are successful and receive good reviews, they are continued. Magazines often have a short life."

"That's a long history!"
"Yes, here I thought about telling you the first magazine credited is the Eshinbun Nipponchi is credited as the first manga magazine ever made. Manga magazines usually have many series running concurrently with approximately 20–40 pages allocated to each series per issue."

"Whoa, manga is sure amazing!" 
I don't know what Nagi is up to but for sure she is inspired to get to know the manga even more.
"So why do these exist, like a whole book of the chapters released in the magazines?" Nami asks 
"Ah these are collected volumes, after a series has run for a while, publishers often collect the episodes together and print them in dedicated book-sized volumes, called tankōbon (stand alone books). These can be hardcover, or more usually softcover books, and are the equivalent of U.S. trade paperbacks or graphic novels. and are useful to those who want to catch up with a series so they can follow it in the magazines or if they find the cost of the weeklies or monthlies to be prohibitive."
"Nice! I learned a lot today and I am more hyped up to what we are going to write next." Yui mused with glittering eyes.
"Good, now that you learned some things from me I will now tell you this. I gave it a lot of thought and I'm gonna be straight with you, Makaino Joji's first series is going to be fifty pages with opening pages in color. Since you guys are about the same age the whole department is planning to use you to make him look better.
"They're going to use us?"
"Yes, but listen to me, this is still your big chance to go and try to beat him, NO. YOU HAVE TO BEAT HIM! YOU CAN'T LOSE!"
Mr.Kawaguchi was always so calm in every meeting we had with him but now I could see him in front of us standing tall asking us to beat our rival, Makaino Joji. This is an unforeseen showdown between us. We'd be competing our serialization with Makaino Joji.

"Nothing gets me more hyped up than anything else is hearing my rivals name." Hirohito stands tall with his fierce eyes piercing through Mr.Kawaguchi's presence and I stand beside him,
"I am with you and everyone else." I looked at everyone and smiled then yelled out. "TO THE SERIALIZATION!"
"YEEEEEEEEEEEES!" everyone shouted 
"Mr.Kawaguchi, you will now see the true power of the mangaka club. We will rise to the top!"
"Yes, I can feel it burning up! To the top! Mangaka Club!"

"As a child, Kenji Yoshikawa did everything by himself and dropped it once he was bored. But his family is full of mystery, especially his father, a retired mangaka. After finding out the secret behind his father's actions, he decided to pursue becoming a mangaka. After this, surprisingly, he somehow managed to get into a harem due to his manga works."

On a white bed, a ten-year-old boy is sitting, his back lying on a pile of soft pillows that support his back so as not to fall.

His body is so fragile and thin it ruptures on anything more than the softest of touches. His hair is wispy broken down to the shoulders.

The boy's face was pale like a tissue, clean yet easily torn. He has just passed his tenth birthday and he was as tiny as a doll, pale with slender limbs. 

A few intravenous cables stuck in his hands. As looked, from his appearance it could be said that he was a patient in this hospital.

And then, despite the sickness, he was reading a book on his hand. More precisely it is a manga book. 

He is reading his most favorite manga, 'Fairy Tail'. However, there were flashes of sadness in both eyes. The manga he read was the last volume of the Fairy Tail manga series, of course, this made him very sad because the things that made his day more meaningful suddenly finished just like that. Moreover, the end of the story was a little not so satisfying for him as he thought there were still many plots that could be developed by the dear mangaka, Hiro Mashima.

Fate is indeed shown no mercy. He is just a child who should live normally and cheerfully with other children out there. Yet, the reality is not as sweet as expected.

Inside this tiny little body, slumber an unknown terrifying disease which makes him only be able to surrender to his fate waiting for his end to arrive.

He was born in one of the most prominent families in his country. His parents had brought famous doctors from all over the world in order to heal their little son. However, their efforts over the years were in vain as the doctors cannot even identify the disease of their child.

On the contrary, the doctors convicted that the life of this child would not live beyond the age of ten.

Thus, the boy decides he will enjoy his remaining lifetime in his own way. He spends his time reading because in the fact reading is his greatest hobby. Especially if what he reads is a novel or manga.

He has read countless novels and manga, and one of them is the Fairy Tail manga. Fairy Tail is his the most favorite manga series, therefore, he is very sad when he receives the last volume of Fairy Tail from his parent.

He sighed deeply as his hand gradually closed the manga he was reading.

"It's time for me too" he lightly laid his body on the bed and hugged his favorite manga on his chest.

It was very painful and tiring. For him during his ten years of life was like an eternal torture. He had held back his strange illness as hard as he could in order to wait to read the final volume of his favorite manga.

Actually, he already felt that his death had arrived yesterday before his tenth birthday, but he did not want to give up because of his abundant love for the Fairy Tail series. He really hopes to be given another day to be able to read the series to the end.

"At least God can still hear" he whispered with his eyes slowly closed as he could feel the light starting to fade and dimmed.

Now, before I start...--I'm pretty sure many of you have wished to change the plot settings of your favorite anime/manga/light novels.

Am I right? 

For example, some people hated Naruto in the beginning because of his character throughout the series. His favorite Talk-No-Jutsu employed with nearly every single enemy he faces pisses some people off, especially the parts where he somehow manages to convince them to turn good.

Lets give a few more examples. 

Now, I have never really read the SAO series but I was told that in episode 24 of the anime, Asuna was nearly raped by Oberon. This actually left some readers feeling disgusted and there were a few other 'close to ****' scenes in the SAO light novel series as well.

In Boruto, people hated and still continue to actually hate the whole series. Although episode 65 of the anime, where Naruto and Sasuke combined their powers to defeat Momoshiki, was a success, it was still not enough to remove the displeasure people had in regards to the anime. Another reason for its' apparent hatred is the boring arcs that have been evident throughout the series and Boruto's character in general. Like his father, he constantly employs the Talk-No-Justu, which really irritates some people.

In Domestic Kanojo, readers did not enjoy the constant back and forth between Natsuo, Hina and Rui. Readers complained that the series was dragging too long and the introduction of certain new characters along the way only served to further deepen the irritation people have towards the manga.

Now imagine you were able to change the storyboard to your own liking. Wouldn't that be like...awesome? Well, that's the job I am currently employed to do.

The cab raced through the streets, the sounds of tires screaming.

It has been two weeks since I was notified that I had gotten the job and today was my very first day at work. The cab finally arrived at the office entrance of the building I was supposed to head to and I stepped out.

I took a deep breath, still in doubt that I had actually landed this job.

In case you have no idea what job I am currently talking about, well basically--My company is one which edits the storyboards of completed and ongoing manga/anime/light novel series produced by authors of various publication firms?

Now, you may be thinking. Why would such a company be needed? Well, that's because many publication companies wish to have a third person's perspectives on how the storyboard concept can be changed, where they will then improvise on our ideas to either come up with new stories or perhaps, alter the current one.

This has always been my dream, as I have read quite a number of anime and manga series, where I am not really pleased with the outcome of the results and the overall story-line. 


I took the lift and arrived at the 15th floor of the building. Stepping out, I headed towards the entrance of the one I was looking for

Opening the glass door, I was greeted by a young man, with white ashen hair, a clean cut face, sporting a neutral attire at the front counter desk.

When the man saw me, he smiled and instantly stood up, reaching for a handshake.

"Hi! You must be one of the new editors right? Welcome! Welcome! My name is Ayato and everyone calls me Ayato here."

He just said his name twice.

"Anyways, I'm sure you are eager to get started. Our manager is not here today but he has already arranged the desk and work for you. I will bring you to your desk now."

I was then led to a far corner of the office. As I looker around, I saw many other people, currently working on their anime/manga projects. 

I noticed a few common ones, such as One-Piece, Bleach and Detective Conan. 

Wait, Detective Conan? I thought that story was already really good.

Finally, I arrived at my desk and saw the piles of storyboards placed neatly in the centre.

Wow, thats a lot of stories. This manager sure wants to work me hard. 

Well, let's get started on the first one.


I then reached out for the first piece of paper placed on top of the pile.


The moment I saw the title, I thought--

Boruto: Naruto Next Generation

(Author's note: I will summarize what has happened in these five years)

First year:
He divided his life into two parts: normal life and supernatural life.
In his supernatural life, he continued to work as a mercenary, fulfilling missions in exchange for money. He increased his strength. He learned to make shadow clones.
In his normal life, he saw that the famous manga of his world did not exist in this world.
So he decided to start working as a mangaka and drew many manga that made him famous. The manga that he drew this year were: Naruto and Sailor Moon.
In second year:
In his supernatural life, like the year before, he continued to work as a mercenary.
Over time he grew bored of doing missions alone. So he started looking for a partner. While traveling the world looking for a companion, he saw many landscapes and many antiques. He met Vasco Strada.
Vasco Strada is an exorcist and wielder of Durandal who is said to be the closest to the original wielder Roland. He was also classified as the second highest official in the Church as a Cardinal Priest.
Vasco is an old man of 2 meters. He has white hair and wrinkles on his face; similar to that of a normal old man. Although Vasco is already old, his body is that of an extremely muscular man. He has a thick neck, a thick chest, thick arms
I challenge him to a fight. The result of the match was a draw.
Vasco is an extremely kind and compassionate man. Even though he was an exorcist, he has not shown any lingering hatred towards demons and fallen angels after the treaty. He also cares for the good of all. Vasco was immensely respected by the people of the church because of his immense compassion and powerful strength.
And finally in the islands of Japan, he searched if there were any to be his companions. He saw something that he never thought he would see, so he decided to approach the person to ask his name to see if the question he sees is the person he believes who he is.
The person responded by saying his name, the name he said surprised him.
Since his imagination was true.
The green haired person with an eye cut, he is… ..
He said that he was on a desert island training but out of nowhere a door appeared and he decided to go through it.
And he appeared in a city. The door disappeared.
He decided to see where he was. But every time he walked around the places he always got lost.
That's how it is.
We are talking about a crossover.

He got so lost that he got here.

Here he found his partner.
Eventually they began to do missions together.

In the third and fourth years:

In the supernatural world they were very surprised when they discovered that I have a partner since for almost three years I have been working alone. Now with Zoro as a partner we finish the missions later sometimes. Reason: Much is lost.
He once found him fighting Youkais in Kyoto for trespassing. I had to spend a lot just to free it. At that time he had met Yasaka, head of the Kyoto Youkai and her daughter Kunou.
Because he is lost so much they nicknamed him SWORD OF PERDITION.
Something that made him very angry.
In the fourth year we killed a God for the first time and that gave us the title 'KILLER OF GOD'
The god we killed was the evil God Balor, who revived and did not pay a payment for his death.
In the normal world send shadow clones to school classes.
He sang a lot of songs, most of the songs were from anime that I had heard and seen in my previous life. And he also acted in movies.
In the fifth year:
In the supernatural world, a mercenary life.
I learned new skills. (I'll post a character card soon)
In the normal world, I started studying at Kuoh Academy.
Zoro didn't want to go to study he said that he would rather drink sake and train than study. So he stayed home.
