Many recent readings of the Tempest have emphasized the postcolonial aspects to the play, a reading that I find more fitting is a reading of Prospero as a God-like figure who might appear tyrannical on the surface but has in mind the redemption and betterment of those he disciplines. It is after all, Alonso who had displaced Prospero from Naples in collaboration with Sebastian and the enacting of the tempest to bring them to the shores of the island which Prospero and Miranda inhabit is the attempt to bring these sinners to repentance for their wronging of him by bringing them through a moral journey of recognizing their sin and advancing towards repentance. Prospero’s seemingly cruel treatment of his subjects, Ferdinand and Caliban, might also arguably be the stance of discipline in hopes of improving them. Prospero allows Ferdinand to experience hardship in transporting firewood in order that he might see that his struggles are toward an end and goal of being united with Miranda. While Caliban is resentful of Prospero’s control of him, it is Prospero who taught him language while Caliban, a beast of nature from which nurture could never stick, rejects these civilizing processes by claiming language is a curse to him and makes a **** attempt on Miranda, which he does not deny and in fact wishes he had peopled the island with Calibans.
	The problem with a purely postcolonial reading is that it denies the redemptive gestures that Prospero makes towards his subjects. Indeed, Prospero might seem a tyrant on the surface but it is not mere subjugation and power he seeks but the restoration of justice and the moral growth of his subjects, something analogous to God’s control of us humans as subjects. Indeed Caliban is the descendant of the evil witch Sycorax and as such has a pure inclination towards sin and depravity, which is why he makes a **** attempt on Miranda and Prospero’s disciplining of him has moral overtones towards it just as God disciplines those sinners whom he loves and desires the moral growth and betterment of.The problem with viewing Prospero as a mere tyrant is that it overlooks the fact that it was Prospero who was wronged in the first place by Alonso through the illegal and scheming usurpation of his position as head of Naples and Prospero, by orchestrating the events leading to the ship wreck on the island, is seeking to restore justice for a wrong he had suffered and bring moral growth to those he disciplines by bringing them to acknowledge it was evil to usurp his position and wrongly overthrow him as the Duke of Naples.
	A postcolonial reading also ignores the discipline and fortitude Prospero desires to cultivate in Ferdinand, who willingly suffers the hardship of transporting firewood in order to survive the trial to win the prize and hand of Miranda. Indeed the problem with a purely postcolonial reading is that it merely reads from the point of the necessity of resistance to Prospero’s tyrannical power, without recognizing the fact that Prospero’s gestures are civilizing and redemptive with the end of restoring justice and profiting his subjects through their moral growth brought about by his discipline. The emphasis in a postcolonial reading is colonial rule as an evil, while ignoring the civilizing and cultivating effects towards moral growth that Prospero’s rule has on its subjects. It would not be rational to defend Caliban’s **** of Miranda as something that is a right of Caliban, or Caliban’s purported revolt against Prospero after all hehas done to feed, teach and civilize him. Indeed post colonialists argue that the very act of trying to impose civilization on a subject is an act of violence, but as I have argued in a reading of Achebe’s Things Fall Apart not all subjects of colonialism experience the civilizing process as violence, indeed some from the Igbo tribe profit from the adoption of Christian religion as a new structure and order to their lives.
	There are also Christian overtones to the trials that Prospero puts his subjects through. Prospero lets Ferdinand endure hardship in order to earn his prize of the hand of Miranda as well as experience the refining nature of suffering. The masque that Prospero stages with Ariel appearing as a harpy to chastise the usurpers Alonso and Sebastian has also the refining nature of suffering in mind, first to bring them through travails on the island to come to recognition of the sin that has landed them in the trial and bring them towards repentance of their immoral usurpation of Prospero’s title in Naples.
	There is also an analogy for magic as a creative process which Prospero relinquishes by the end of the play, perhaps an echo of Shakespeare’s relinquishing his craft of creative writing, and a suggestion that the creative act itself is a God like process an act which seeks the betterment and moral growth of his subjects, us, his readers. Indeed Shakespeare’s plays have always been highly didactic, with his tragedies exposing the necessary punishment of sin and moral transgression such as Goneril and Regan’s fall towards ruin after ruthlessly usurping Lear’s property and Macbeth’s descent into madness and destruction after murdering Duncan the king.
	Hence Prospero’s magical powers are that of a God like creator who seeks not to imprison and merely subjugate his subjects to bend them to his will but to redeem them and lead to their moral betterment and growth, as was seen in his attempt to give Caliban an education, his attempt to discipline Ferdinand through hardship, and his attempt to bring Alonso and Sebastian towards repentance. A postcolonial reading merely highlights colonialism as violence without acknowledging the redemptive nature of civilization as Alonso and Sebastian learn that sin has consequences, as does Caliban when he is punished by Prospero after his attempted **** of Miranda. Indeed it is true that Prospero tyrannically subjects all his subjects on the island to hardship but it is for their betterment and moral growth, like God desires towards sinners, that Prospero also desires and hence Prospero is not a mere tyrant but like God, a teacher of lessons through the suffering that he brings about in order to instil discipline, repentance and moral growth in his subjects. 
	In Shakespeare’s sonnets, an apollonian love and platonic admiration for a faith youth or fair friend is contrasted with a Dionysian love and lust for the poet’s dark mistress. The platonic love for the fair youth is described as a love which enriches and inspires him, love being a ladder which he ascends in improvement by meditating on the youth’s beauty, while the lust he experiences for the dark mistress is a degrading passion which exhausts him and leaves him bereft of dignity and steeped in shame. Hence sonnet 144:
                               Two loves I have, of comfort and despair
                                Which, like two spirits, do suggest me still
                               The better angel is a man right fair
                               The worser spirit a woman coloured ill.
                               To win me soon to hell my female evil
                               Tempteth my better angel from my side,
                               And would corrupt my saint to be a devil,
                               Wooing his purity with her foul pride,
                                And whether that my angel be turned fiend
                               Suspect I may, yet not directly tell
                               But being both from me both to each friend
                             I guess one angel in another’s hell
                              Yet this shall I ne’er know, but live in doubt
                             Till my bad angel fire my good one out
The Dionysian love for the dark mistress is described as an evil and she is described as ‘foul’ and wanton, tempting the better angel, the fair youth from his side. Her female private parts are described pejoratively as a hell ( I guess one angel in another’s hell) and their lustful sensuous relations between Shakespeare as a hell (To win me soon to hell my female evil) and hence the relations with this dark mistress are described as sinful, degrading and shaming. This is seen in another sonnet 129:
                                Th’ expense of spirit in a waste of shame
                                 Is lust in action, and till action, lust
                                Is perjured, murderous, bloody, full of blame
                                Savage, extreme, rude, cruel not to trust
                             Enjoyed no sooner but despised straight
                             Past reason hunted, and no sooner had,
                              Past reason hated as a swallowed bait,
                             On purpose laid to make the taker mad;
                            Mad in pursuit, and in possession so
                           Had, having, and in quest to have, extreme
                            A bliss in proof, and proved, a very woe
                           Before, a joy proposed; behind a dream
                          All this the world well knows, yet none knows well
                            To shun the heaven that leads men to this hell
The passion and lust for the dark mistress are thus described in degrading and negative terms as lust, perjured, murd’rous, bloody, full of flame, and described as an expense of spirit in a waste of shame, the opposite of the improving, spiritual, inspiring Platonic love that Shakespeare experiences for the fair youth. Again a woman’s private parts are described pejoratively as a hell that shuns heaven and an entrapment, the love for the dark mistress are thus described as degrading, foul, lust, destined for hell as opposed to the heaven he experiences with the fair youth. The lust he experiences for the dark mistress is thus a damning one in which he does not experience spiritual edification as he does with the youth but damnation and degradation. The lustful and degrading nature of the sensual relations between Shakespeare and the dark mistress are contrasted with the improving, Platonic love for the fair youth in in sonnet 116:
                                Let me not to the marriage of true minds
                                Admit impediments; love is not love
                                 Which alters when it alteration finds,
                                Or bends with the remover to remove,
                              O no, it is an ever-fixed mark, 
                              That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
                               It is the star to every wand’ring bark
                             Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
                              Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
                            Within his bending sickle’s compass come
                             Love alters not with his brief hour and weeks
                             But bears it out even to the edge of doom
                               If this be error and upon me proved
                                 I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
The Platonic love with the fair youth is thus described as a marriage of true minds, a mental and spiritual connections and a marriage of intellect and soul rather than bodily degradation, a foul and degrading lust with the dark mistress, it is abiding as an ever fixed mark and thus lasts much longer than the temporal satiation of lust Shakespeare experiences with the dark mistress and this is seen again when he states that Love is not time’s fool though rosy lips and cheeks within Time’s sickle come, the love for the fair youth is thus depicted as Platonic and eternal contrasted with the  temporary satiation of degrading lust as rosy lips and cheeks Shakespeare experiences with the dark mistress. The love for the fair youth is thus Platonic, eternal, unshakeable and somewhat immortal as well as  pure compared with the degrading lust and sensual passion Shakespeare experiences with the dark mistress.The love for the fair youth is also described as a form of self-love in sonnet 62
                                  Sin of self- love possesseth all mine eye
                                   And all my soul, and all my every part
                                 And for this sin there is no remedy
                                   It is grounded inward in my heart
                                     Methinks no face so gracious as mine
                                 No shape so true, no truth of such account,
                                  And for myself mine own worth do define
                                 As I all other in all worth’s surmount
                                  But when my glass shows me myself indeed,
                                  Beated and chopped with tanned antiquity
                               Mine own self-love quite contrary I read
                                   Self, so self-loving, were iniquity
                                     ‘Tis thee (myself) that for myself I praise
                                    Painting my age with the beauty of thy days
The love for the fair youth is thus described as a self-love, an idealization of the youth as a younger version of himself as Shakespeare ‘paints’ his ‘age with the beauty of thy days’. Again, we see that the love for the fair youth is an idealized one in which he identifies a younger version of himself in the youth and thus experiences a self-love which he transfers as affection to the youth.Indeed, Shakespeare’s ideal love is a form of self-love since he loves none better than himself, in contrast the sexual difference with the dark mistress proves to be not love but lust in an expense of spirit that degrades him sensually rather than improving him and inspiring him spiritually. In contrast to this Platonic, idealized and improving love the love for the dark mistress is not idealized at all but experienced as ordinary and mundane in sonnet 130:
                                           My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun;
                                            Coral is far more red than her lip’s red,
                                             If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun
                                            If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head
                                              I have seen roses damasked, red and white
                                             But no roses see I in her cheeks;
                                            Again in some perfumes is there more delight
                                          Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks
                                         I love to hear her speak yet well I know
                                        That music hath a far more pleasing sound,
                                        I grant I never saw a goddess go,
                                       My mistress when she walks treads on the ground
                                      And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
                                     As any she belied with false compare
Shakespeare does not idealize the mistress hence or put her on a pedestal, he recognizes that she is of no spectacular or extraordinary beauty, her eyes are nothing like the sun and her lips are not bright red, her hairs are stiff like wires and her cheeks are pale rather than rosy, aside from that she has body odour and her voice is not in the least musical, she is no goddess and she is a mere mortal who treads the ground. 10 years ago I was in Elementary school. Best friends with Olivia, going to roaring Springs from reading, choosing purple at operation school bell, Mom reading the warrior cat series to me in her bedroom.
Watching Brianna, Katlynn play supersmash bros or Zelda, where she Pretended to be links leaf. LPS, Carmal the mastermind and his henchmen with Olivia, Bree,and Chelsea. My secret hideout in the Mitsubishi car. Playing cassette tapes. Watching Disney movies with Bree up in her bedroom till we fell asleep. Playing pretend, or building Fairy or Neopet houses out of leaves and twigs. Paper doll houses for hallow kitty, or Bree covering me up and stand at the park and me smiling.

Mom taking me out to sonic when I was feeling down, Mom kissing my forehead before heading to bed, Mom bringing in a tomato the shape of a parrot head from the garden, Mom reading a princess story, where I learned about honey lasting forever, just like love. Mom and I painting the laundry room while listening to the goose girl, getting me and audiobooks. Mom reading me mean jean the recess queen or the doll maker, his creations, puppies for sale, or the one about the prince. Mom humming the near tune from beauty and the beast. Mom hugging us and telling us, "you're my prisoner!"
Eating lunches in finding her note with, 'I love you,' or her hugging monster. Mom putting all that time and effort into birthdays or holidays to know that we were special and loved. I love you mom, I love you so much. Thank you for being my mom.

Back at Beacon, Jaune went to Ozpin's office, h wanted to tell him that he was successful at the retrieval of the maiden's power, and he also told Ozpin that he wanted a favour from him.
 
"Thank you, for, getting the power of the maiden back, I don't know what I would have done if the full maiden powers were used by the wrong people, such as Queen," Ozpin said.
 
"No, problem, besides, I wanted to help Amber, she is a friend, and I can't just do nothing while she is hurting," Jaune said.
 
"What was the favour that you wanted? Tell me and I will see what I can do," Ozpin asked.
 
"I just want a meeting with Ironwood, I want to make a deal with him, for the release of Roman Torchwick, and one other personal deal," Jaune said.
 
"Alright, I will speak with James and see if I can get him to meet you privately, can I ask why you want the release of Roman Torchwick?" Ozpin asked.
 
"Oh, I am opening an HQ for my company here in Vale, and I believe Torchwick has the skills I am looking for," Jaune said.
 
"I see, you want his expertise at handling money, but can't you just hire someone more qualified?" Ozpin asked.
 
"I can, but with a great incentive, I can have Torchwick work for me, and he will be able to easily tell if someone is doing illegal activities with the company accounts, and he does have some contacts that could be useful," Jaune said, Ozpin nodded in understanding.
 
"Alright, I can get you a meeting with Ironwood tomorrow in the afternoon, he doesn't have much to do anyway since he is here in Vale," Ozpin said.
 
With that, Jaune left Ozpin's office, he headed for his base, he needed to talk to Blake regarding her schedule for the movie shoot.
 
When he got in his base, Jaune saw Neo raiding his fridge for his Neapolitan ice-cream, but unfortunately, he already ran out, he only made seven buckets, after all, Neo already ate five buckets the other day and two buckets for breakfast.
 
"Neo, what are you doing?" Jaune asked.
 
"I'm just looking for more ice-cream, it was the best ice-cream I have ever eaten, can you tell me where you got them, I want to buy a truck full." Neo signed.
 
"You won't be able to buy it anywhere since I make them here, all the food in this base is homemade by me," Jaune said which caused Neo to pout in sadness, and this caught Jaune by surprise, he didn't think Neo can be any more adorable, and then he sighed.
 
"Fine, I will make you three buckets worth, but no more after that," Jaune said, Neo continued pouting in hoping that Jaune will increase the number but she was not successful.
 
Jaune did not have to do anything for the rest of the night, so he decided to make Neo her ice-cream, but first, he headed to Blake's room, he needed to talk to her, since the filming will start next week, and since she was a student, her only real available time was the weekend and so is his.
 
"Blake, can I speak with you," Jaune said, and Blake opened her door, and Jaune saw that her whole team was in her room and so are Nora and Pyrrha.
 
"Jaune, is there something wrong?" Blake asked.
 
"No, I just wanted to tell you that the shooting for the Ninja of Love movie is next week on the weekend, I just wanted to remind you that we both need to be there since we are both playing the main lead," Jaune said and Blake nodded at him.
 
"Woah, Woah… hold up, are you telling me that Blake is playing as Kumiko, Blake why didn't you tell us, that is big news, we should be celebrating… wait, Jaune did you just say that both you and Blake are playing the main lead… damn that means that Jaune is Nobuyuki, maybe I should have applied for the role," Yang said.
 
"Wait a sec… Yang how do you know who the main leads of Ninja of Love are, I thought you said that Ninja of Love is just smut." Blake questioned.
 
"Well, duh, obviously I will tease you, I can see read that book everywhere you go, you poorly disguise it all the time, and besides, I will never mistake Ninja of Love book cover, I love that series," Yang said.
 
"You…you read the book…wait, raise your hand if you read Ninja of Love," Blake said, and what happened next surprised her, everyone in her room raised their hands, Blake may understand Weiss, but Ruby, innocent Ruby is not so innocent after all.
 
"What the… Ruby, you read Ninja of Love, when did this happen." Yang asked.
 
"Uhm… back in Patch, I was curious at the book you were keeping under your bed…so, I kind of snuck into your room and took it, and after reading a few chapters, I kind of got hooked in it, I mean the story between Kumiko and Nobuyuki is amazing, then there is the foreign beauty Esmeralda that saw Nobuyuki and it was love at first sight for her, I am hoping that all three of them end up together," Ruby said while daydreaming about the love triangle of Ninja of Love.
 
"Well… damn, dad is going to kill me when he finds out that Ruby is reading porn because of me," Yang said.
 
"You know… it kinds of hurt, when you call my book porn in front of me, BECAUSE IT IS NOT PORN, IT IS EROTIC LITERATURE," Jaune said with a scowl on his face.
 
"Your book. Jaune are you the writer of Ninja of Love." Pyrrha asked.
 
"That's right, I made the first book when I was fifteen, I needed money for my training, so, I decided to write a book, and well it became one of the most popular books out there, it's even getting a movie adoption since people are hoping to see it in the big screen, and you know most of the money from the books is the one that I used to open my company," Jaune said.
 
"Ohh, so that's where you got the money, I have always been wondering where the money that you used to start your company came from," Weiss said in realisation.
 
"Did you think I did something illegal to open my company?" Jaune asked Weiss.
 
"Well, a bit…It's just that I have never seen you have the attitude of a high class, ever. So, I assumed that you may have gotten your money from some unsavoury individual, such as a loan shark." Weiss said.
 
"Okay, then, I'm glad that everything was cleared up, anyway, Blake make sure you don't forget," Jaune told Blake who was just smirking at Yang, and Jaune knew that Blake will have her payback.
 
"So…Yang, you are a fan of Ninja of Love, did you know that a new book was coming out?" Blake asked.
 
"Yeah, I can't wait for the fourth book to come out, according to news sources, it will be released before the movie comes out," Yang said, and Blake came closer to her to whisper some spoilers to her, and Yang's eyes grow as big as a saucer.
 
"Blake! Where did you get that information, and why would you spoil the next book for me…? I thought we were friends…Noooo… why oh why will you spoil the next book for me… you're a monster." Yang said with sadness, really sadness not some act, yet all Blake did was smirk at her.
 
"That's what you get for teasing me for reading Ninja of Love when you are a fan as well," Blake said, Yang moved towards Jaune.
 
"Can…can you let me read the next book…I am just too curious of what Blake spoiled for me…I can't wait for a long time to find out how such an outcome came to be," Yang said sadly and what Jaune told her next just increased her sadness.
 
"Sorry, Yang. But I am only allowed to give one copy to one person and I gave it to Blake, she is the only one who has an early copy of the book." Jaune told her.
 
"Blake…Please let me read…I just want to know so badly." Yang wailed.
 
"Fine, but you have to make a promise to me, that you will never tease me about reading Ninja of Love every day," Blake said.
 
"I promise to leave you alone when you are reading, or tease you about what you are reading…just please let me understand how it happened," Yang said.
 
"Okay, I will lend you the book…after I finish reading it." Blake said, at the beginning Yang as delighted that she will be allowed to read the book but was in horror when she had to wait for Blake to finish the book.
 
After that drama, Jaune wanted to go to his workshop to build the stormtrooper E-11 blaster rifle, he will use it to bargain with Ironwood, and hopefully, he will make a deal, he wanted to make this deal happen. But first, Jaune headed back to the kitchen, he did say he would make Neapolitan ice-cream for Neo.

A man was given two wishes and a choice to the world he wants to go to. He chose to be reincarnated as Jaune Arc in the world of RWBY, and his choice of power was Arc of Embodiment. Now read as the new Jaune changes the direction that Remnant is heading to.

This isn't so much a funny story as it is an Ironic one. So as you know I'm dyslexic, which means reading is... hard. but as you can probably tell I love writing, and I also love stories, so what I do is listen to audio books (insert predictable audible ad here). I actually get them from the library online. But libraries, despite not actually housing the medium I like, are actually really soothing to me. For example, I'm writing this in a library. Despite only recently discovering that I love books I have always enjoyed being in a library. Like not to read but just being there, organizing books was something I really enjoyed especially as a kid. I know "what a weird kid" but the library in my elementary school let me push the book cart around and put things away and I loved it. You might ask when I had the time to do this. And that's where the funny part is...
So in fifth grade my school did this thing to prepare you for middle school, they separated every day into four classes and with your homeroom you rotated through each of the classrooms with a different teacher. My teacher for reading did this thing where if you earned it you got the privilege of going to the library to read during personal reading time. 
I of course, being the goody too shoes that I am got my pass very quickly and proceeded to read at the library everyday. But then I discovered this love of organizing books, and reading became my second priority. Eventually the librarian caught on and told my teacher but it was all cool. I mean I had to read in the classroom again but I wasn't mad at thew librarian, she was super cool. She let us check out our own books sometimes, though this was a job only the fifth graders got to do when she was doing something else in the library. 
The library is always the part of the school that matters most to me, if a school's library is small, uncomfortable or just down right depressing then I won't like the school. I spend most of my time in libraries. I mean even though I don't like reading physical books a lot I still like the idea of having a physical version of a story I love. This causes a habit, If a read/listen to a book that I really like, as in its on my "Top 100 favorite Books" list then I find a copy when I can. Sadly I don't have the money for pretty box sets so all of my copies of my favorite books are from Goodwill. This makes for some patchwork book series sets but I like it, it adds character. At least that's what I tell myself when I pass the pretty hard cover limited addition box sets at Barnes and Nobles.
My dad runs an Ebay business, he sells used books, like from estate sales or library sales, or goodwill. He mostly deals in the bigger names/more collectible stuff, like he sells a lot of Stephan King. But sometimes when he goes to goodwill I tag along and look for a copy of my favorite books. One time I found the book "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" and I nearly squealed. Its one of those books that is just really moving. So I convinced my dad to get it for me. And now I have a copy of a book that I will never use but it will comfort me. Its like having a physical manifestation of the characters and story you love. When its an online audio book it can feel very intangible, its also nice to be able to see your favorite quotes on paper.

Being fifteen is hard, but it’s really hard when your not neurotypical. I probably spelled that wrong, this isn’t a quirky way of telling you I’m dyslexic I just genuinely tried my best and spelled that how I thought it was spelled and they put a red line under it. But I’m also Autistic/have Autism, ADHD, and of course Anxiety because there is no other way to complete my triple A battery of mental disorders. 
Now this is collection of all the stupid stuff I’ve done, all my mini misadventures. 
So I hope you enjoy my stories and laugh at me as much as I laugh at myself (that is to say a lot).
