At the East Sea, an old man wearing green clothing came to a small fishing village and stopped outside. The old man was only carrying a flute on his waist and a jar of wine in his hand.
Looking at some of the dilapidated villages, the old man's eyes filled with emotion, nostalgia, and also memories of the fleeting years.
In the twinkling of an eye, so many years had passed by.
"I'm afraid that in a few years, this village will no longer exist."
The old man stood outside the village for a long time before turning towards a small grove nearby. But, he stopped after taking a few steps.
"Come out!" The old man called in a deep voice.
As his voice died away, two men wearing clothes made of rough material came out of the grove in front. They had the same look, same height, were physically strong, bald, had rustic expressions, and gave the impression of being down-to-earth people from the mountainside.
However, the long knives resting on their shoulders gave them an air of menace.
"Eighth most powerful expert in the world, Lu Pinghai, we have been waiting for you for a long time." They both said in a low, muffled voice at the same time.
Lu Pinghai looked at the two and his facial expression was motionless.
The aboriginals seldom appeared in other nations, and these two specifically came here under someone's order.
"Her Majesty told us to get a Spirit Yuan Pill from you at whatever price or condition you want," the two continued.
As expected.
Lu Pinghai suddenly realized that the order was from Qi Zixiao.
"Tell Qi Zixiao this old fellow doesn't want anything, please go back," Lu Pinghai shook his head and said.
"Her Majesty said that if you do not agree, she will come personally to find you," the two said in response. Actually, what the empress said was to kill him if he refused to give her what she required.
But if they phrased it this way, Lu Pinghai would turn hostile on the spot.
No matter what, he was the eighth most powerful expert in the world and was not easily threatened.
"Then let Qi Zixiao come and find me." Lu Pinghai laughed loudly. He passed through the two men without even looking at them.
Although Qi Zixiao was the fifth most powerful expert in the world and, furthermore, had Hong Wu, the ninth most powerful expert with her, he was still not afraid of them.
Being the eighth most powerful expert in the world, he was definitely confident of himself. They hadn't fought before, who knew what would the outcome be?
Qi Zixiao was originally the seventh most powerful expert in the world, and didn't she kill Hua Sanliu, who was ranked the fifth in the world?

"Lu Pinghai, you really want to offend Her Majesty because of one Spirit Yuan Pill?" The two turned around their hands already on their swords.

That sleeve was like a living thing and loosened from the hilts. It then hit the two men heavily on the chests, causing them to move backward involuntarily. They went backwards for seven to eight steps before stopping and vomiting fresh blood.
"Eh?" Lu Pinghai snorted. These experts who had just attained the Spirit Wheel level could not even resist one strike from him, let alone being hit directly on the chest. But to his surprise, they were still standing over there.
These two that were sent here were already quite powerful, the aboriginals must have a lot of experts.
"To cultivate oneself is not easy, so today, I will let the both of you go," Lu Ping Hai said and disappeared into the woods.
The two glanced at each other and turned around to leave.

Black-faced guy is another term for the wild boar.
"Two days!"
Ren Baqian looked askance at the craftsman who answered him.
"Even one black-faced guy could do the job given in two days."
The few men shrugged their heads and quietly listened to the lecture. The row of big and strong men bowed their heads and stood like walls.
Ren Baqian rambled on for a long time before he finally said, "Everyone gets a reward of ten taels of silver and the monthly salary will be increased by one level."
Although these people were stupid to the point where it was beyond cure, they still managed to produce the silver mirror anyway. Scolding and rewards should be dispensed as warranted.
"Thank you, Sir!" Everyone beamed happily.
Ten taels of silver was equivalent to more than two months of their salary. Furthermore, their monthly salaries were increased by one level and that was also quite a handsome sum.
"Everyone, please take your leave." Ren Baqian let the craftsmen leave first before instructing Jiao Zuo on the important works to be done.

A few days later, during the afternoon, a group of about a hundred over people came bustling out of Lan City and went straight to the glass factory outside the city.
However, they didn't enter the newly built brick house but went to an open space by the side of the glass factory.
There was a big wooden platform with a shelf on it, measuring six meters high and twelve meters wide. A row of concave mirrors was fixed on it and a dazzling white light could be seen from afar. It was difficult to open one's eyes, and many people used their hands to block the white light from their eyes.
The empress came down from her carriage, followed by six high ranking officials: Shi Qing, Zhe Kouhai, Tu Wan, Tong Zhengye, and Qin Chuan. As long as they were available, they were pulled along by the empress.
Everyone wondered why the empress asked so many people to come and what exactly they were going to see.
At this moment, they saw the shelf and the concave mirror which displayed distorted images. Shi Qing, Zhe Kouhai, Tong Zhenye, and some others immediately knew what it was. It had actually been produced now, but they didn't know whether it would be the same as described by Sir Ren. If it was, it would be a happy occasion.
The rest of the people were looking curiously at that big piece of mirror.
"Isn't that a mirror?'
"I wonder what it's made of, it doesn't look like a bronze mirror and yet is so bright."
"But the reflections are not moving and don't look right. Look at the stones in the mirror, the images are distorted."
"Hey, the images make people look short. What a joke."
The empress looked at the big mirror in front and sized it up for a moment. Afterwards, she told Ren Baqian, "You can begin." 
Ren Baqian was very relaxed, he had spent a lot of time building this. Now, it was the time for him to showcase it.
He hoped those idiots didn't mess things up.
After greeting him, thirty guards who normally served him ran to the side to carry thirty mirrors that measured two meters high by one meter wide. Then, they placed the mirrors on the ground, facing the direction of the shelf.
Following which, some people carried a four-meter-long iron bar which was as thick as the circumference of a bowl, and placed it standing upright on the ground.
Ren Baqian walked in front of the row of thirty flat mirrors. He adjusted the angle of one of them, reflecting the sun rays to the concave mirror on the shelf and then the focused beam of light from the concave mirror-reflected to the top of the iron bar.
As he adjusted the angle, the rest of the people followed suit and started to adjust the mirrors. From time to time, he helped everyone adjust the mirrors.
Initially, many people looked at him, but with the empress, Shi Qing, and company fixing their eyes at the top of the iron bar, more of them directed their eyes there and wondered what they would see.
But at once, they got the shock of their lives.
The top of the iron bar suddenly burst into flames without any cause.
One had to know that this was an iron bar. No one was blind, and they were certain that it was an iron bar from the heavy footsteps of the guards that had carried it over as well from the effort it to erect. But, how could an iron bar catch fire?
Even more surprising things were happening, the top of the iron bar not only caught fire but was also melting, and the red-hot liquid iron flowed down the bar.
Very soon, the tip of the iron bar was missing a portion.
Not only was it shocking for those who saw it for the first time, even Shi Qing and company were also surprised.
The previous time, it was just a disk of light which burnt a hole in a steel knife.
This time, it was the melting of an iron bar as thick as the mouth of a bowl, and the difficulty was ten to one hundred times more.
Therefore, several people who witnessed this personally were astonished.
"Your humble servant congratulates the empress and Dayao. This is a great contribution from Sir Ren, and Dayao shall not need to worry about the lack of iron for the next one hundred years," Shi Qing happily announced loudly.
After he opened his mouth, everyone reacted and one after another, and they congratulated the empress.
Although they didn't know what was happening, they could see for themselves the melting of the iron bar, which was as thick as the girth of a bowl.
In that case, Mount Damo could continuously be mined for fine iron, and they would no longer face the problem of a shortage in supply for the army. This was definitely a joyous occasion and very good news.
Ren Baqian contributed the most to this project, and in the eyes of many people, his status was elevated by a few levels.
Earlier, the empress did mention something about letting him run a school and ordinary disciples without innate talent from each family could be sent in. Nobody took it seriously, and many people didn't even consider it.
When the empress asked later on, they would say even though their disciples were not talented enough, putting their heart into martial arts training was enough.
However, based on what they saw at present, this guy really possessed some abilities.
Those families might as well send the ordinary disciples to the educational institution to try it out and see what they could learn.

YEAR 2018
Early morning around 5:00 to 5:30 a.m.

There stood a villa which has two floors. Which is surrounded by a garden, which was planted with beautiful flowers. There was mother nature present around the villa

On the ground floor- hall, kitchen and a guest room was present.
First floor- bed room, study room and a store room.
Second floor- bed room.

Inside the bed room of the second floor- a bed was present on the corner. On the marble floor a dog was sleeping in a cushion. A book shelf in the opposite corner of the bed. In-between the book shelf and the bed a window was there covered with curtain. A study table was in front of the window and a television opposite to the bed just next to the book shelf. A laptop was plugged in- which was on the study table.

A person was sound asleep in the bed. When the clock ticked 6 the alarm went off in the clock. Suddenly the person who was sound asleep opened his eyes. His eyes are black- there was a charm, it looked like people will be  mesmerized if they stare for a long time.

At the exact moment even the dog woke up and started wagging his tail. The person went straight into the bathroom and started brushing his teeth and had a face wash and looked into the mirror. The person reflected on the mirror was handsome- not just handsome there was charm around him. Not just opposite gender, even the people of same gender will get attracted to him.

He changed his clothes to a t-shirt and tracks. He got ear pods with his mobile phone and went jogging along with his dog. Both returned around a hour later. The dog was exhausted- resulting in him gasping for breath.

When both entered the villa there was a handsome man in his 40s seated in the sofa.

"GOOD MORNING ALEXANDER." The man in his 40s greeted. 

The person who was sweating responded
"Good morning Dad" 
Yes this person's name is Alexander. 
The person in his 40s is Albert.

"Alexander go take a bath and come, let's have breakfast." A female voice was heard from the kitchen.

"Yes Mom. Dad let me go take a bath and then we can talk about the university..."

Albert just gave a nod and started reading the newspaper which was on the table in front of the sofa.

By the end of the conversation the dog recovered from the exhaustion and respectful went over and sat near Albert on the floor.

Alexander went up the stairs for the bath. 

[The name of the main character is ALEXANDER because Alexander means 'saviour of mankind' or 'defender of the people', which will make lot of sense in the future story line of the novel. ]

As he walked, Ataz noticed that the sky was getting darker and darker, as if it were becoming night, but he had not remembered walking for so long. From a distance, he saw a small, old, dark wooden house. It had some strange designs on the door that were oddly large for a normal door. Around the place, it was full of trees with small symbols made of old branches hanging. 

When he reached the door, he noticed that it was left ajar. The cat peered through the crack, but he couldn't find any living beings inside. Ataz decided to risk entering the house, quietly listening for any noise that might provide him any danger. Strangely, he felt familiar with doing that. He managed to feel that there was magic in that environment, however, it was not just any magic. "Black magic? It's infested here... but why do I feel so strong?"

He felt his blood running through his veins, and realized that he had started to absorb some of that energy. Even though it was almost nothing, he started to have the sensation of something entering his body, starting in his arms and legs, reaching the heart that began to beat faster and faster.

Inside, he found many shelves with books, flasks with strange liquids, and even some skulls scattered around the place, but which were apparently only for decoration. The place was very dusty, with cobwebs and almost no light that came in inside it, so closed that the environment was.

In the center there was a table with some candles - the only brightest spot in the place. Sitting still, seated at the table, there was a woman. She was seemingly about 60 years old, with white and long hair. The woman wore strange clothes made of a combination of different cloths, half torn and dirty. She was small and very thin.

Ataz started to approach the lady. In front of the table where the old woman was sitting, there was a small chair. The black feline jumped on top on the chair, coming face to face with the woman, who was apparently sleeping because of the snoring he heard coming out of her nose. On the table there were some strangely scrawled out letters and some little balls in a glass in the corner of the table that apparently were eyes, bearing no color or life. He noticed that she had many rings on her fingers; their nails were long and as she slept, her fingers made small spasms as if they were trying to point some certain direction.

Curious, Ataz looked at the direction her fingers seemed to be pointing and there he saw, in the center of a huge and tall old bookcase, a large book with writing on it he couldn't read very well because of the dust, and with a luminous symbol in the middle that drew the majority of his attention. Slowly, he guided his small body to the shelf. It was tall and slender; Ataz couldn't just pull the book to himself, however, he noticed something: the shelf was not completely full, so he could sneak through the empty spaces that were between the books.

He still wasn't very skilled with his paws, but he believed he could already jump up to that point. He approached the bookcase, flexed his front legs, and jumped. Even though he had difficulty holding onto the old boards of the bookcase, Ataz reached a shelf below the desired one and started to sneak through the books and bottles that were placed on it.

He put his two paws on the top shelf and pushed his little body, making it possible to climb one more flight. From a distance, he could see the small glow that the symbol produced. He then started to move his little body by sliding it through the bottles and ornaments that the shelf had on it.

Ataz was finally in front of the book. Passing his paw over the cover, he was able to read 'Atra Pestis Servus'. Having spent so many years studying runes and dead languages, Latin was almost his native language, so he read the cover to be "Slave to the Black Death". Ataz stopped for a second quietly, thinking confusedly about what he had just read and remembering that upon entering the old woman's house, he felt an energy familiar on her magic.

Before he could even open the book, he, with his new senses of cat, felt that something was wrong. Something was watching him, but he could feel that it was not just one thing: there were several. He turned his head towards the old woman and realized that she was no longer there. Instinctively, he put his claws out and looked at all corners of the room with goosebumps running up and down his spine, but even with a cat's senses, he couldn't see anything. He could hear all the creaks and groans that that old house made, but at that moment, not even the crackle of moldy wood was possible to hear, just silence.

Ataz noticed a small speck of smoke rising from the floor. This did not seem to make any sense to him because the house did not contain a fireplace and the floor seems to be composed of dirt. He heard a small, almost imperceptible, noise coming from the door, and when he turned his small eyes quickly towards the direction, the door closed brutally, causing some dust to fall from the roof of the house. 

Strange black shadows began to come out of the bottles and drawers the house contained. They infested the house and everything went dark. Ataz was barely able to see even his own paws. In the midst of the darkness, a shape began to form before him. It looked like the figure of that old woman who was sitting at the table when he entered. She no longer had her spine bent or her hair standing on end; her spine was straight and it looked like her hair was smoother than it should have been. Her eyes were white and empty, as if she were blind, and in her hand she held a small shiny necklace.

Approaching slowly, the old woman started to laugh, a loud, high-pitched laugh that even bothered his little ears. "So you're here looking for answers? Do you want to know who you are?''

Her voice was thick, as if it were duplicated. The old woman was holding something in her hands, but Ataz hadn't even noticed it; he could only think of a way to escape. ''Or rather… [" she continued, " who you have become?''

'Who I have become?' Ataz asked himself confused, now turning his attention totally to the old woman.

"A filthy and weak worm. Apparently they were wrong about you." 

The woman stopped walking and stood for a few seconds smiling coldly at Ataz with an empty look that pierced his very soul, however, he was not afraid.

''What a shame.'' The woman placed one hand close to her chest, palm towards Ataz. Her mouth opened into a bizarre smile and her eyes, apparently blind, seemed to look straight into the void. She started to whisper something, and around the old woman, some lights like energy balls appeared. Ataz couldn't stop looking at them, even though they almost burned his vision as bright they were, until in a matter of seconds, the balls started flying towards Ataz.

Without thinking twice, he ran to the other side of the bookcase and could hear behind him the sound of wood burning and the light of a mini explosion that the balls caused. Fortunately, none of the lights had hit the book. Ataz decided to run back to retrieve the book and get out of there; he needed to find out how his magic worked and knew that that book could have at least a little bit of information for him.

He realized that the woman was replacing her mana, as he saw that the magic balls were growing little by little. Ataz took the opportunity to run to the book, dodging all the jars and pots in front of him, and when he got to the book, it suddenly dawned on him that it was huge. Ataz had no idea how he was going to carry it out, so he was going to have to stop the old woman, but he didn't have enough power for that. He pushed the book with his little body to the floor, making a huge noise, and with that, the old woman closed her smile and even with that lifeless look she gave, she looked directly at Ataz.

The old woman opened her eyes wide and the necklace started to shine brighter. The old woman's energy balls increased in size and started to grow more and more. Ataz ran, leaving the book behind and stopped in front of a small mirror on the floor. Before the fireballs hit him in the mirror, he could see the old woman's reflection in the mirror behind him without the light from the balls hindering him and he realized that in one of the old woman's hands she was holding a necklace that gave off a small green glow. He realized that the old woman had not mastered magic, she only knew how to master objects with magic, so Ataz needed to destroy that object to come out alive.

It was then that he remembered that little bit of smoke rising between the old wooden boards of the floor...

The cool evening wind blows into a city landscape full of tall towered structures, skyscrapers, a bustling city filled with pedestrians moving about to and fro, some office workers in suits struggle to catch a train, police officer in black uniform having hard time controlling rampaged go-slow, there are modern houses and building here in Benin metropolis, I eji, come from a small town with little or no occurrences but Benin metropolis is on whole new level .The day to fades with bright beautiful orange colors estimated time 6:35pm.
Four human structure stands in front of an old abandoned four story school building, the school structure is made of thick wooden design, it has similar design structure to Japanese high school with thick tree vines about the structure, cracks and broken windows filled with thick dust. The school annex is made up of sport hall and track field, the compound is filled with tall grass, vines and dead leafs littered the school.
Creak!
Sounds of a creaking entrance door made of thick wood and broken window glasses at the middle wide open with cob web about it. four student walking into the entrance hallway, the floor of the hallway is made of thick fine woods with thick dust, the entrance hallway filled with broken bookshelf, wooden lockers, the design of the locker is similar to locker made in the early 60s , ray of light  shone brightly from a touch into a dusty class room .The class room is rectangular in shape with rusty desk, flipped chairs, broken table, spider cob webs about the classroom, windows, the doors and floors of the school was made of  wooden, crack holes on the wooden floors.
The four student stands in front of a door, class 3b. Talismans and charms sealed the door.

A sharp glared from Tracey brown eyes as she turns her head towards the direction of the palm on her shoulder, Tracey was tall, pale skin, a long dark hair with ponytail. She turns and look at  girl with ocean eyes, blonde mermaid twist braid hair on king crest school uniform.
"Christ!"             
"Christabel, if you are afraid, just turn back and leave, why join the phenomenon club, we talked about these issue this morning, don't interrupt me".
She had torn off the seal and the charms in front of the classroom door. She pressed opens the door, a creaking sound resounded through the hallway
 A strong wind blows from the classroom into the hall with a howling sound.
'Are you sure about this'? Christabel spoke once again
"Oh  for the love of Christ".
"Shut it" Tracy replied with a frown on her face.
The four students enters into the class room ,it was dark due to the sunset, the classroom was wide and rectangular in shape, the classroom window made of wood with broken window shards. Close to the entrance of the classroom was a bookshelf, broken school desk with cob web, at the end of the hall, there was an old shelf clock made in the early 60s close to the chalkboard, more charms and talisman fills the room,  christabel and Tracey continues to argue when yukina cuts in.
"Please can we stop arguing over spilled milk, let's get what we came for, check the shelf's for the year book yukina spoke politely'.
At the end of the wide classroom, Yukina stares at the old shelf clock that stop ticking long time ago, the clock hour hand  stops at exact 12.30 midnight ,she wipes the dust from the clock, her reflection made visible in the clocks mirror, dark eyes, red hair with fishtail braids ,she was on king crest high school uniform, she stares into her wrist watch, the time is 6:45 pm, at the same time Tracey opens the bookshelf which was surrounded with sealed talisman and charms with the same warning as the doors 'DO NOT OPEN" ,she ignores the warning, breaking of the ropes and seal and open the shelf, a jar glass with talisman about it falls to the ground , a black neck bead rolls off to a corner . There was a write up written in the jar"
"NO CONDITION MUST THIS JAR GLASS BE OPEN, WHO SO EVER SHALL OPEN INHERITS THE CURSE OF CLASS 3B.
"CLANG!"

The shelf clock bell rang out a loud resounding sound, for a moment, everyone pause in shock as they stared at the direction of the sound.
Yukina, startled wondered why a dead clock suddenly rang out.
Tick tock, tick tock, the clock minutes hand began to move.
"What the hell?" this shelf clock was not working a moment ago
She stares into the old shelf clock.
The clock minute hand continue ticking, the only difference was ,the hour hand began to tick tock backwards  from 12,11,10, 8,.7 6 and came to a full stop at exactly 6; 47pm current time and rang out a resounding sound. Yukina was still staring at the shelf clock in disbelief when she suddenly notice an image in the reflection, a woman with black hair, her hair was long from her head to her kneel, the hair covers most of her face leaving a pair red gleamed eyes glaring at yukina ,her face and her teeth look like decay human skull with live round worms moving to and fro into her face, white long gown similar to a marriage dress stain in blood ,worms and dirt about it, her feet and hands was black with long black thick fingernails. ,
yukina shuddering as the woman howled, her mouth was made of black void as she howled .

A door opens as Melody was thrust into her bedroom by her father. He stormed in and looked angrily at her.

"What is this? What were you thinking?! My own daughter!," Her father yelled.

"D-dad...I'm sorry...," Melody said with her head down.

He gritted his teeth and slammed his fist on the nightstand.

"D...dad...," Melody said with tears forming in her eyes. 

She trembled in fear as her father stood over her.

"You are damned, girl. Damned!! You have doomed this family to be damned to the void...or worse...Hell," her father yelled. "What would your mother think?"

The glass shattered with one slug at it. The glass cut her fist. She pulled back her fist in pain and quickly tried to get all the glass out of her hand. She then stopped and looked over at herself in the shattered mirror.

"I hate my name...,"she said to herself.
