James woke up and slowly open his eyes. 'Weird, where am I right now? Hospital perhaps but I thought I'm dead already'. He saw a ceiling with a rotating fan.

He felt weird then he remember that he supposed to be dead. He then get down from the bed and take off his shirt. He look at his stomach. There is no wound at all!

'No wound at all? How come?' He pondered for a moment. After a while, he remembered now, just before he fell unconscious he heard something his head. 'What the hell is going on right now? and where is this? This is not my room.' Just as he pondering, he heard something in his head.

"Ding! Greeting host, I am a system that has been bind with your soul"

"What the hell? Am I turning crazy?" James shocked when he heard the robotic voice.

"No host. You are not crazy or turning crazy right now. You are completely sane" The robotic voice answered.

"If I'm not crazy, what are you?" James asked

"I'm a system that has been bind to you as a gift for you courageous action in your past life."

"What? My past life? Then you want to say that I already dead?"

"Yes and no host. Now you are alive but in your previous life, you already died because of the bleeding due to the gunshot."

"If I died then how come I still alive right now?"

"Host has been granted a second life, a chance for you to compensate what you lose in your previous world."

"What I lost? My previous world? Am I not at Earth right now?"

"Yes host, the current world's name is Ozrorth."

"Ozrorth? Like a fantasy name. Anyway, you said that I got compensations for what I lost when I at Earth. What are they?"

"Yes host, you have been given with several gifts which is including me, the system."

"What are the others?"

"The list of gifts you received will be listed right now." Right after the system answer his question, he saw a panel in front of him.

"Gift points is a form of currency used in the system's store. You can purchase gifts using the points in the store. The history knowledge is not in form a book. If you want to redeem the gift, just say it."

Then James felt a big headache. He felt like his brain was being torn apart by knife or something sharp. After a couple of minutes, the headache gradually subside.

"Damn, what a horrible headache. Thanks god it just a few minute. If it take longer, I will go insane. Anyway, so the knowledge is like a string of data that will be received by my brain. doing that, i can fully digest it without need to read for hours." James then sit down on a chair beside the bed and organized his thought.

Ozrorth is bigger than Earth by 2 times, however there are only 5 continent. Current era is modern era same like Earth. The population currently is about 10 billion people. Not that high if compared with Earth. The reason why the population not that high is because there are still places that have no people even though Ozrorth is bigger than Earth. Most people lived at the city. The rest live in small community.

Unlike Earth, there are only 5 countries which the strongest is Empire of Helnetes follow by Great Xin Empire, Akimoto Shogunate, Yi Dynasty and Kingdom of Crumia. Each country occupy a continent. All country using same language which is Ozroth language. They also using same currency which is Ozroth Dollar(OD)

'Right now the country I resided is Kingdom of Crumia, the weakest country.'

Kingdom of Crumia has the population of about 500 million people. The city that James currently at was Duncaster with the population 10 million people. Duncaster city is the smallest city in the Kingdom of Crumia.

"So now I am at Duncaster City. Anyways system, what I can buy using the Gift Points?" James now eager on what he can buy with the points.

Hello everyone, first of all I would like to thanks to all reader who read my novel. This is the first time I writing a novel so my writing will be lacking a lot compare to other novels. However, I will improve my writing skill as I write this novel.  Also, English is not my native language so I am sorry if there are lot of grammar errors in my writing.

As Lucien walked through this layer of the underground world in his search for strong Viscount-Rank Demon he could fight. The sad thing for him was fact, that practically whole layer was just occupied by Early-Phase Viscount-Rank Demons, which wasn't that bad as they were good cultivation resources when Lucien killed them and obtained their corpses. 

Sadly even after two or three hours of searching he still didn't manage to find stronger demons, most enemies he encountered were either Demonized Monsters or only lowest and weakest members of the Demon Race which were Imps. Still, he managed to kill several hundred of them, so he had enough cultivation resources. 

Before leaving this Low-Grade World, every member of the Holy Niflheim Empire at the Viscount-Rank was using this time to hunt for Viscount-Ranked Demons, as they were precious resources. As most of the resources were used by his grandfather before and now almost all were used by his father to break through to the Count-Rank so the Holy Niflheim Empire would have more Count-Ranked powerhouses the moment they arrive at the God-Devil Plane. 

The only thing left to do for those who reached the Count-Rank in Body Cultivation was to cultivate the energy they awakened to the Jindan Realm, to be on par with Body Cultivation. Together the dual cultivation would create terrifying warrior. What was interesting was fact, that the energy could be cultivated also by the usage of Magitek Energy Crystals as they were just the extremely dense concentration of pure energy in crystallized form. Just thanks to a few of them, his grandfather reached Pinnacle-Phase of Houtian Realm in the cultivation of his Darkness Energy and only needed a little push to reach Xiantian. 

Houtian in the Energy Cultivation System was equivalent to the Baron-Rank in the Body Cultivation System used by Sacred Devourer Ghouls. Then as it goes, Xiantian was basically Viscount-Rank, Jindan was equivalent to the Count-Rank, Yuanying Realm was the same rank as Marquise-Rank and so on. 

Another wonder and advantage of Energy Cultivation, for Sacred Devourer Ghouls, was that the energy was passively strengthening the body, even though by a small amount, but it was still better than nothing. This meant, if they increased their Energy Cultivation then even their RC Level would be passively increasing. His grandfather said the progress was very very small but it was still good. Also, for example, their bodies were many times stronger thanks to the Energy Cultivation.

After he was searching for enough time, Lucien finally found his target. Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon. Winged Demon looked very similar to an orc as he was similarly muscular and ugly at the same time. The difference was in the color of skin, as the Winged Demons had brown skin and two wings on their back.

Lucien observed the demon before him and noticed that it was armed with two blades, rusty ones and already pretty destroyed. Even the armor that the Winged Demon was wearing was completely tattered and almost destroyed, apparently, this one just escaped the battle. Probably he managed to slip away from his father or grandfather and survived some of their AOE attacks.

And thus Lucien went on the complete battle mode, as he unleashed his kagune ukaku wings and congealed kagune katana which he gripped tightly in his right hand. He then flew high in the air and rushed at the Winged Demon at full speed of his wings. Surprisingly his wings were very fast which was very good news to him. 

When he arrived before the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon and their blades collided it created sparks in the air and the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon was pushed back under the pressure and might of Lucien's strike. Then after the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon lost part of his balance, Lucien shot at him several crystal projectiles created through his ukaku wings, to injure the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon even more. 

During the time, the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon was trying to defend against the crystal projectiles, Lucien was already in the battle stance and prepared to strike at his enemy. In a split of a second, he performed perfect Iaido and severed one arm od the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon. Blood spurted out of the wound and Demon was completely shocked that one of his arms was now severed, but it was not time to be shocked as Lucien was already before him and his katana was piercing through his throat.

After the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon fell down dead, Lucien was a bit disappointed as the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon too weak. Thinking back it was understandable it was weak as it was only ordinary cannon fodder so its combat prowess would be rather low. 

Then he stored the corps of the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon into his Cross Crest and continued in his search for more Viscount-Ranked Demons in this layer. Sadly thee weren't anymore. Just some random Viscount-Ranked Winged Demons and nothing more. Not counting the small swarms of the Imps that were here and there. 

Thus Lucien started thinking about entering the third layer of this small underground world as he never entered it before. From what he knew, that layer now housed many Advanced-Phase Viscount-Ranked Demons and even Count-Ranked ones appeared rather often, but they were quickly disposed of by four people guarding it down there. 

Besides Lucien's father, Asmodeus and his grandfather Azrael from their race, there was also the patriarch of the Vampire Clan of the Holy Niflheim Empire and together with his father, Old Ancestor of Vampire Clan of Empire. Thinking about it a bit more, Lucien decided to enter the third layer to fight stronger demons, as he was too something called battle maniac and just thinking about ten years or so without good life and death fight, was like torture to him.

Kariya didn't know whether the last notification was good or bad, but he knew it was better than nothing. What concerned him was that his spirit now had two new 'nodes' that seemed similar but different to the Magic Circuits of a Magus.

The first 'Spiritual Node' was what the System called a 'Soul Sleep'. It was the source of his Spiritual Power and now also the origin of his Life Force (Od), and above it was the node called the Binding Chain, which amplified Spiritual Power.

The fact these nodes ended up increasing the amount of Od being converted into Magical Energy (Mana) by his Magic Circuits meant that their purity had now likely reached the level of the distinguished Aoko Family, who were renowned for their bloodline producing Mages who could use Spells even with merely their concentrated Od.

The purple-haired Magus also felt the connection with his Heavenly Gu and now 'Nameless Swords of Demonic Heritage' becoming deeper. There was also a particular option he was given that made him think deeper about his future plans going forward.

[A new option have arisen from your devotion to Spiritual Magecraft... It is limited to 10 minutes..]

[Would you like to fuse your Crowned Beast's Hollow Mask with your Asauchi? Yes/No]

[Benefits include obedience of your inner Beast Hollow... Should you accept this choice, you will also be able to summon Beast III/L and Beast III/R as separate Asauchis meant for different people than the Host... They shall abide their user's will...]

He thought about it in the ten minutes he was given about the pros and cons, but eventually ended up clicking 'Yes' even if it DID end up sealing away the powers of the two Beast IIIs.

The most important reason why he chose to do this was because the records he had found about Servants known as 'Beasts' was that they were uncontrollable. As beings that were both demonic and divine, they without doubt all 'Evil'.

Knowing this made him to everything in his power to erase such power from his body, after all, he didn't want to become like Zouken, and had no interest in pursuing immortality like 'he' did.

All he wanted to do now was defeat Archer and Kirei Kotomine to free Sakura's family from torment. However, doing so would take tremendous effort as Gilgamesh wasn't someone who could be beaten with mere swordsmanship.

Sure, Berserker was a natural counter to the many Noble Phantasms that golden Servant had while using his 'armoury'. However, even the original Berserker himself couldn't defeat that blonde King of Kings despite having fought at full throttle.

After choosing to seal away his Crowned Beast's Hollow Mask, he felt the nature of his sword changed as it no longer seemed as volatile as it did before. The demonic sword still endlessly tried to attack his mind, but it was more obedient as well.

He could feel his own 'Anti-Madness' Skill was working better as he materialised the Nameless Sword of Demonic Heritage before him. It was at that moment that two 'katanas' with the same inconspicuous designs appeared before him.

[You must do Sword Meditation if you wish to gain a deeper understanding of your blade and unlock its true potential... The 'Lapse Asauchi' and 'Rapture Asauchi' have been materialised...]

Rather than testing the blades out, he took these two weapons and found a safe place to lock them away. No one must ever get their hands on these swords regardless of the circumstances...!

Since his own Nameless Sword was part of his very being, it couldn't be helped. However, that didn't mean he would allow anyone else to be corrupted by the evil influence these blades had. He was even less eager to 'meditate' holding his sword.

Not only was he not patient enough to sit still right now, but gaining more 'demonic power' seemed like a waste to him. He was also disinterested in Fullbringer and Shinigami powers since they had now become a natural part of his Nameless Sword.

For his nephew's sake, maybe he would find out more about 'Spiritual Power'. That was all he was willing to do rather than get any deeper into the rabbit hole which was the 'evil' Hollow Powers.

It was time to move onto the next 'experiment'. He let the Heavenly Gu outside his body and started to sense the 'Spiritual Energy' of his surroundings using the basis he already had. With his great willpower and resolve, it only took a few minutes before he was able to sense the makeup of the power hidden in all things while concentrating.

[Initiating process of creating a Spirit Weapon... A list of criteria is being checked before creation...]

[Scanning: Above-Average Spiritual Power condition is met... Reishi (External Spiritual Power) Environment condition is met... Error! You don't have a Quincy Cross... Implementing solution...]

The pure white Heavenly Gu which looked like a spider suddenly gained a cross mark on his carapace. Kariya's eyes widened as he felt his body starting to reject the Nameless Sword that had previously been able to coexist within him silently.

Surprisingly, this 'chaos' only happened for a moment before the nature of what was once Arondight kicked it. As his Mystic Code had already been half demonic and half holy previously, the two naturally unharmonious energies synced together.

Hollow Power and Quincy Power seemed to work seamlessly in one sword as he started to create a separate 'Spirit Weapon' using his Heavenly Gu. A change happened as he was doing so since the hundreds of Healing Worms in his body reacted.

It felt like the shape of his Spirit Weapon would reflect his future growth, so he didn't rush as he wanted to create something more suitable to him than the sword Berserker had left to him.

He wasn't the type to fight in close-combat even if he had the skills to do so, that's why he wanted to form a ranged weapon. As he was manipulating his Spiritual Power, he felt that the 'techniques' one had on hand also factored into the final result.

His family focused on bugs and the Absorption Spell. He COULD go for making a bow or a larger insect-like appendage, but that didn't seem to fit the image he wanted to show in front of others.

Kariya wanted a weapon that would represent the change in his family so they could repent for what their family had done throughout the years, and he also wanted something he could 'share' as well.

[Congratulations! You have become the first Echt Quincy (Pure-Blood) alive... A new option is given.]

All these thoughts fed his Heavenly Gu as it transformed its appearance, but just as it was about to take shape, a new option was given to him that made him unable to continue, as the thing he wanted most was in this 'deal' the System gave.

[You can forgo greater power in return for the Soul Distribution ability... With it, you will not be able to form your Spirit Weapon and will only be able to do so with further 'Sacred Training' in future... Would you like to gain the ability to share power? Yes/No]

[The System warns that it will become much harder to 'absorb External Spiritual Power' until you have mastered the art of 'imparting Internal Spiritual Power'... You will only be able to absorb back the power you have imparted onto others initially...]

He didn't even think about it as he accepted its proposal. The manifestation of his Spirit Weapon ended in failure, but he gained something much more precious after accepting this new power.

[Considering many factors regarding the current state of your soul, you have acquired the ability to permanently gift Spiritual Power... How this will manifest revolves entirely on how you use it...]

The purple-haired Magus smirked, feeling very much satisfied as he intrinsically understood the limitations of this new ability by himself. Now all he had to do was test the limitations of his power...!

Kariya finally stood up and stretched his body after retrieving his Heavenly Gu and Healing Worms. He first checked what exactly his Od (Life Force) could do now that it was imbued with Spiritual Power.

He first focused on his Soul Sleep Spiritual Node before focusing that energy into his hand. The Spiritual Power pushed out and didn't do much beside push some of the air around it away.

Then he tried write down what his current abilities and 'potentials' were so he could understand them.

It was at that point his System manifested to help him out by putting together all he now was:

Your Hollow affinity has split into several categories. Reaper comes from your Shinigami Power, Demon is from your Hollow Power, Shadow is from your Quincy Power, and Holy originates from the power lent to you by your Mystic Code.

One thing he took note of was the 'Daemon' affinity that Zouken's memories had a lot of information about. The Sixth Imaginary Aspect was actually far more acceptable to him than the 'Demon' affinity birth from his Hollow Spiritual Power.

It was because 'Daemons' of the Sixth Imaginary Aspect weren't as evil as 'Demons', as they focused more on emotions and desires rather than purely one's own ego. It was with this ideology that he decided to try concentrating his own 'desires'.

He starting forming ten new Magic Circuits in his eyes with fives in each one, all that were focused on forging new 'Mystic Eyes' for himself that could become the source of his power as a Daemon.

Little did he realise that it was while he was recklessly doing this that his 'Origin' opened.

[Using your Daemon Affinity has started to create a new Alien Common Sense (Reality Marble) as your Manifest Phantasm... Not birthing a Deamon from your Affinity has caused your Origin to become the source of the Manifest Phantasm being birthed...]

As someone who desired many things, he didn't wish for his body to be bound by a Daemon created from what little he wanted currently. That's why he chose to see 'himself' as his own Daemon.

The Daemon of endless desires...

Because of his recklessness, he was unable to stop himself from roaring out in pain once the process of gaining a Reality Marble exclusive to Daemons started to initiate. His voice was so loud that the entire mansion was woken up by his screams.

'Uncle!'

'Little Brother!'

Only two people woke up in fright as Shinji was too much a deep sleeper. Sakura and Byakuya ran towards the basement regardless of what Kariya had said to see him sprawled out on the ground.

"Why...?!" Sakura cried as she saw that her uncle was bleeding from the eyes, believing she should have noticed that he was overworking himself lately. Byakuya didn't stop her from trying to help him put Kariya on his back so he could bring him to his bed. He watched as the little girl walked off with dark eyes of depression, unable to accept this...

As someone who wasn't sure on how to handle children, he just ignored her mental state and signed as he hoped nothing would happen before his brother fulfilled his promise. He was still obsessive over power and wanted greater Spells.

The purple-haired Magus was unaware of what had happened while he was unconscious until dawn...

When he woke up, he found that his eyes had changed to a different colour than before. They were now a deep water blue colour that reminded him of the sea... Then a notification popped up.

[You have attained the 'Mystic Eyes of Spirit Amplification'... Warning! It is advised you keep them closed until further notice... You may accidentally burn out your Od after seeing-]

But before he could fully read it, someone came inside the room. He wasn't able to control his power as the young girl in a purple dress found her Magic Circuits being amplified tenfold. The support ability of his was so strong that it started to overload all his Magic Circuits that were working at fully capacity, feeling as if he was lit aflame...!!!

He forced himself to close his eyes and was shocked to find that he had almost burnt out his Life Force in those few seconds of using his Mystic Eyes. His body smelt like burnt flesh as he kneeled to the ground, unable to handle the stress his Magic Circuits overloading caused while they were activated at such power beyond comprehension.

"Uncle Kariya...!" The fear that he had accidentally injured Sakura vanished as he realised that she was completely fine just from her voice. If it wasn't for his 'Eternal Mastery of Demonic Arms' Skill, he probably would be as good as blind right now.

He used his other senses to 'look' at her...

"Are you feeling okay?" He asked the girl, who felt angry that he could ask that in such a situation.

"I'm really fine now, so please take care of yourself." She spoke with a grave seriousness.

"I am." She could tell her Uncle wasn't taking her seriously. He smiled as if to sooth her 'tantrum'.

"Please... take care of yourself."

"Don't worry-"

"Liar." She became more depressed as she grabbed his hand, willing to guide him anywhere.

"Ummm... I really am fine."

"Uncle, should we go eat?"

"I'm not that hungry right-"

"Should.we.go.eat?" He wasn't sure why but closing his eyes made her voice sound a lot more heavier than it did previously. Kariya was unable to get a word in as she dragged him to where the dining room was, with her little footsteps stamping.

She sat him down on his seat and went into the kitchen to fetch something to eat. The Matou didn't really have any butlers or maids, but they did have readymade food of a higher quality than the junk food common people would eat on a daily basis.

All she had to do was prepare them up and before bringing them to the dining table. She took one of the exquisite dishes in the fridge and heated it up before serving it, putting the plate in front of him.

Then Sakura took a fork and fed him herself.

"Say 'Ah~'."

"This is a little-"

"Now I'm the one taking care of you! I am NEVER stopping until your eyes get better."

"But I can still-"

"Say 'Ah'." She didn't hear a word he had to say as she knew Kariya was always being insincere.

He was probably hiding his pain again. This was what she thought while feeding him, which made it hard for him to reject her. He could only sigh while musing that this wasn't that bad, really. 

This was actually their most peaceful interaction in a long while... Especially since she came here.

He hoped his Mystic Eyes hadn't affected her...

"Really?" Then, I laughed again. But I also stopped when I realized that we were in the library. "Really? The answers are in that fiction book?" I asked, unbelievably.

I was about to laugh again but his cold expression gave me creeps so I just remained silent and muttered, "Fine. I believe you."
He frowned. "Come on, Scarlette. No time for fun. I'm freakin' serious right now."
I closed my eyes and sighed. "Okay. Okay." I raised my both hands in defeat.

They went to Cavhian and gave the sword to him. This time, he didn't refuse and gladly accepted it and his duty―that no matter what, he would protect Earth from evil.
When Durlen knew about the sword, he wanted to take it because of the power that it has but he couldn't. It's because, whenever he tried to take it, he couldn't breathe.

"This is the only copy left out of 1000 copies in the whole world," Asher told me as he returned the book at the shelf. "Gladly, it was destined here."
"If Cavhian was the first holder and Leather Antonio was the 14th holder, how about my Dad?" I asked when I suddenly remembered what the demons told me that night.
"Um . . . " He stared at me like the answer was on my face. "Mister Max Sevilla . . . 17th holder, I think, if I'm not mistaken," he replied, unsure.
"Then―" All of sudden, I stopped because of my realization.
"Anything for you, my niece."
One of the demons laughed and uttered," So, you are the daughter of that swordsman."
I didn't know what's happening to me but it's clear that I used the sword so fast ― just like it's so natural for me to use it.
"You made it, Scarlette. You can control, make, and destroy fire or heat." I looked at Asher because of what he said.
Asher smirked at me when he saw me wide-eyed. "I guess, you finally connected all the dots."
I just nodded slowly and said what I realized, "I'm a demigod ― the daughter of the 17th holder of the sword―Max Sevilla, and the ruler of Hetarnia and also the goddess of fire―Er. And I'm going to be the 18th holder of the Hetar Sword."
I thought, things would be clear when I already knew who really I am but it turned out that things got more complicated.

Právě jsem byla v kuchyni, když jsem zaslechla otevírání domovních dveří. Šla jsem se podívat kdo přišel. Vypadalo to, že včera jsem byla celý den doma sama. Dokonce ani v noci nepřišli. Začínala jsem o ně mít strach, bez ohledu na to, jak se ke mně chovají. Pořád s nimi mám hezké vzpomínky a není možné, abych je začala tak lehce nenávidět. Ve dveřích stál otec i Darel. I když vypadali unaveně, zdálo se, že jsou v pořádku. Chtěla jsem něco říct, ale oni kolem mě pouze prošli do svého pokoje.
Chtěla jsem tedy zamířit do svého pokoje a počkat až Miri zase přijde, protože když jsem se ráno probudila, už byl pryč, ale otec mi v tom zabránil. „S kým jsi byla?" nechápavě jsem se na něho podívala a dostala strach. Podle čeho poznal, že jsem s někým byla? Vždyť většinu času nebyl doma. Že by mu něco řekl Darel? Ale ani to nepřipadá v úvahu. On taky nic nevěděl. Nebo to věděl a chtěl, aby si to se mnou vyřídil otec? „S nikým jsem nebyla. Vždyť jsem byla celou dobu doma." řekla jsem trochu nechápavě. Nikdy jsem neuměla moc lhát, ale bylo mi jasné, že teď se musím překonat. Závisí na tom všechno. Otec se na mě podezřívavě podíval. „Vypadáš jinak. Je mi jasné, že jsi byla s někým z té nejnižší vrstvy. Dávej si pozor ať se to už neopakuje. Nebo vás oba stihne trest." řekl naprosto chladně a bez dalších slov či pohledu na mě se odebral do své ložnice.
Po našem rozhovoru jsem byla strašně rozhozená. Zalezla jsem si do svého pokoje, aby mě tak otec nebo Darel neviděli. Hned by jim došlo, že jsem s někým byla. Začala jsem přemýšlet, zda je dobrý nápad se s Mirim stále stýkat. Nechtěla bych ho zatáhnout do problémů. Myslím, že bych měla nejdříve zjistit, jak přišli na to, že jsem s někým byla. Do té doby by sem Miri neměl chodit. Chvíli jsem přemýšlela nad různými možnostmi, když mi došlo, co otec říkal. ‚Vypadáš jinak.' Přešla jsem k zrcadlu, a podívala se na sebe. Žádnou změnu jsem neviděla. Možná mi jenom trochu vyrostly vlasy, ale to není důvod myslet si, že jsem s někým byla. V zrcadle jsem viděla svůj normální odraz. Moje zelené oči, byly stále zelené. Bílé vlasy, zůstávaly bílé. Na sobě jsem měla svoje normální bílé, dlouhé šaty.
„Něco se stalo?" vyrušil mě hlas za mými zády. Okamžitě jsem se otočila a zděšeně se podívala na osobu, jež stála za mnou. Překvapilo mě, když jsem uviděla Miriho. Můj pohled se stočil k oknu, které bylo otevřené. Nejspíš jsem ho zapomněla zavřít. Podívala jsem se zpátky na Miriho a už trochu klidněji mu řekla: „Už sem nemůžeš chodit. Otec něco tuší." mezitím, co jsem mluvila, popadla jsem Miriho za ruku a táhla ho k oknu. Naštěstí se nevzpíral, takže jsem ho mohla normálně vést. U okna jsem od něho trochu poodstoupila a tím mu dala prostor, aby mohl zase slézt dolu. „Dobře, už sem nebudu chodit, ale alespoň dneska večer. Chtěl bych tě někam vzít." poté se bez jediného slova otočil a odešel.
I když byl pryč už nějakou dobu, já jsem stále byla u okna a koukala ven. Přemýšlela jsem nad tím, co mi chce ukázat. A proč pro mě tolik riskuje. Najednou do mého pokoje vešel Darel. Zkoumavě jsem se na něj od okna podívala. Neměla jsem tušení, co by ode mě mohl chtít. „Pojď do kuchyně, otec s tebou chce mluvit." zůstal stát ve dveřích a čekal, až k němu dojdu. Zastavila jsem se kousek před ním a nerozhodně jsem se na něho podívala. On mi jenom pokynul rukou, ať jdu před ním. Stále více nervóznější jsem tak udělala. S Darelem v zádech jsme došli až do kuchyně, kde u stolu seděl otec. Chtěla jsem si sednout dál od něj, ale Darel mi v tom zabránil, když mi odsunul židli hned vedle otce a čekal, než si na ni půjdu sednout. Po kratším zaváhání jsem tak udělala a Darel si sedl hned vedle mě, takže jsem sed��la uprostřed.
„Řekneš nám, s kým jsi teď byla?" zeptal se naprosto klidně. Překvapeně jsem se na něj podívala. Miri v mém pokoji nebyl ani pět minut a odešel asi před hodinou. Kdyby ho viděli odcházet, určitě by mě zavolali dříve. Takže jak se to dozvěděli? Jsem si jistá, že nikdo ze sousedů k nám nepřišel a otec i Darel byli celou dobu doma. „Byla jsem tam sama. Nikdo tam se mnou nebyl. Nechápu, proč si myslíte, že tam se mnou někdo byl. Stejně by neměl šanci, jak se ke mně dostat." řekla jsem všechny argumenty, které mě v tu chvíli napadly a doufala, že to bude stačit. Najednou si Darel vzal do ruky pramínek mých bílých vlasů: „Nezešedly ti trochu vlasy za poslední dobu?" zeptal se a při tom stále zkoumal mé vlasy. Jen co to dořekl, jsem se na ně také pečlivěji podívala, ale žádnou změnu jsem neviděla. Proto jsem jenom zavrtěla hlavou a zvědavě se na oba dívala, kam tenhle rozhovor směřuje. Právě se ve mně prala zvědavost a nejistota. Díky otcově upřenému pohledu, který celou dobu směřoval na mě, ovšem převládala nejistota. „Pokud změnu nevidíš, tak je nejspíš vše v pořádku, můžeš jít zpátky do svého pokoje." ukončil otec náš ‚rozhovor.' Překvapeně jsem se na oba podívala a hledala odpovědi na svoje otázky. Vždyť jsme si vůbec nepopovídali.
Ve svém pokoji jsem hned zamířila k zrcadlu. Pečlivě jsem se podívala na své vlasy, ale vůbec žádnou změnu jsem neviděla. Proto jsem odešla od zrcadla a lehla si na svojí postel. Právě teď bych nejraději usnula, ale věděla jsem, že se mi to nepodaří. Na to jsem měla v hlavě až moc otázek. Proč by mi měly zešednout vlasy? Chtěl si se mnou otec promluvit nebo chtěl jenom vidět mojí reakci? A pokud chtěl vidět moji reakci...Na co jsem měla zareagovat? Zareagovala jsem tak, jak chtěl nebo jsem se nějak prozradila. V hlavě mi vířilo spoustu otázek, na které jsem nemohla najít odpovědi. V posteli jsem se převalila a pohled mi padl na velkou černou věc, která se válela kousek od mé hlavy. Okamžitě jsem se od té věci odkulila a odešla daleko od postele. Když se ta věc ani po chvíli nepohnula, znovu jsem se přiblížila a snažila se zjistit, co to je za věc. Hned jak jsem to zjistila, musela jsem potlačit smích, abych se nezačala smát moc nahlas. Byl to pouze list, který včera vypadl Mirimu z vlasů a já ho nejspíš ráno přehlédla, když jsem uklízela ostatní listy.
Vzala jsem list do ruky a znovu si lehla do postele. Na tváři jsem měla mírný úsměv. Tentokrát jsem přemýšlela, zda Miri večer opravdu přijde a co mi chce ukázat. Pro jistotu jsem zkontrolovala okno. Bylo otevřené. Nechtěla jsem, aby mi Miri na okno házel další kamínky. Nejen, že muselo být těžké je najít, ale začínala jsem mít poškrábané okno. Když jsem přestala přemýšlet o otci a o všem možném kolem něho, přestala jsem mít strach a trochu se uklidnila. I když bylo teprve odpoledne, byla jsem strašně unavená. Proto, než jsem si to vůbec stihla vůbec uvědomit, upadla jsem do klidného, bezesného spánku.
Probudila jsem se pozdě v noci, když se mnou někdo třásl. Ve tmě jsem hned nebyla schopná rozluštit, kdo mě budí takhle pozdě, ale když ta osoba promluvila, okamžitě jsem ho poznala. „Tiše, to jsem já, Miri. Chci tě někam vzít, ale nejdřív se musíš převléct, nevím, jak by se ti pohybovalo v těch šatech. Nebyl jsem si jistý velikostí, takže je možné, že ti to bude trochu velké. Já budu čekat venku, až se převlékneš, tak přijď za mnou." s tím mi do ruky strčil oblečení a hned vyskočil z okna. Chvilku jsem se za ním překvapeně dívala, jak jsem nebyla schopná hned po probuzení normálně přemýšlet. Proto mi to, co právě řekl, došlo až za chvíli. Oblečení jsem položila na postel a vstala z postele. Zrovna, když jsem se chtěla převléct, dveře od mého pokoje se otevřeli a dovnitř vešel Darel. Nejdřív jsme se na sebe překvapeně dívali a nikdo nevěděl co říct. Jako první se vzpamatoval Darel a přistoupil blíž ke mně, abych ho mohla slyšet, i kdyby šeptal. „Až se tě zítra otec zeptá, co jsi včera dělala, tak řekni, že jsi byla celý den v pokoji. V domě jsi byla sama, protože jsme celý den pracovali v Radě, ano?" překvapeně jsem se na něho podívala. „Ale to se stalo předevčírem, včera jste doma byli a..." nedokončila jsem svoji myšlenku, když jsem viděla jeho pohled. Byl lítostivý a vypadalo to, že mi nechce nic přibližnějšího sdělit. „Prostě mě poslechni. To je všechno, dobrou." s tím se odebral zpátky do svého pokoje. Ještě chvíli jsem přemýšlela nad tím, co to mělo znamenat, ale potom jsem si vzpomněla, že na mě venku čeká Miri. Rozhodla jsem to probrat s ním, proto jsem se rychle převlékla a vyskočila z okna, podobně jako on před několika minutami.
Hned jak jsem se ocitla vedle něho, chytl mi ruku a začal mě opatrně táhnout k místu, které mi chtěl ukázat. Proplétali jsme se spousty malými uličkami, až jsme se ocitli v normální čtvrti a mohli jsme jít vedle sebe. V ten moment jsem se rozhodla Miriho zeptat na věc, co mi Darel naznačil. „Miri? Hned po tom, co jsi odešel, tak do mého pokoje přišel Darel. Začal mi říkat, že pokud se mě otec dneska zeptá, co jsem včera dělala, mám předstírat, jakoby včerejšek neexistoval. Myslím, že jsem včera měla ztratit paměť a Darel to věděl. Ale z nějakého důvodu jsem ji neztratila a Darel se mi snaží pomáhat. Ale vůbec nemůžu přijít na to, jak by mi mohl někdo vymazat paměť." s povzdechem jsem dokončila svoje vypravování. Miri, který mi celou dobu věnoval svoji plnou pozornost, se na chvíli zamyslel. „Promiň, ale s tím ti asi moc nepomůžu. Taky to moc nechápu. Taky si nejsem moc jistý, jestli bys měla věřit Darelovi. Je možné, že to je past a chtějí zjistit, jak moc jsi jim oddaná nebo něco na ten způsob. Nebo ti vážně chce pomoct." zkoumavě se na mě podíval a čekal mojí odpověď. Musela jsem se na chvíli zamyslet nad tím, co řekl. Ani mě nenapadlo, že by mi to Darel říkal i pod jinou záminkou, než mi pomoct. „Budu mu věřit." Miri jenom přikývl a zbytek cesty jsme pokračovali v tichosti.
„Mohla bys teď prosím zavřít na chvilku oči? Nechtěl bych, abys přišla o překvapení." usmál se na mě nervózně Miri. Sice jsem byla chvilku překvapená, ale nakonec jsem oči zavřela a čekala jsem, co se bude dít. „Teď se moc nelekni" řekl Miri kousek od mého ucha a vzal mě do náruče. I přes jeho upozornění jsem sebou cukla, když jsem uslyšela jeho hlas, tak blízko u mé hlavy.
Nesl mě jenom kousek, když mě začal pouštět a opatrně mě postavil na nohy. Oči jsem měla stále zavřené, takže jsem nevěděla, kde jsme. Miri mě opatrně chytl a vedl mě ještě kousek dopředu, když jsme zastavili a on mi dovolil otevřít oči. Hned jak jsem je otevřela, uviděla jsem pod sebou úžasnou podívanou. Stáli jsme na kraji nebe a měli úžasný výhled na Zemi pod sebou. Všude bylo spoustu malých světýlek, které se každou chvilku zhasínaly a místo nich se rozsvěcely jiné.
