This is the synopsis for the book, this is not a chapter of the story, it's basically just the information you will need to know about this story.
I wanted this story to be a comic but since I can't draw to save my life I'll just write it.
This is also going to be my first book that will not look like the stories I wrote when I was 5 , unlike my Wattpad account. Those are cringy.

It's set in a fantasy/horror world that consists of vampires, ghouls and demons. Split world meaning if you fall through a black abyss and if you're not one of those three things you'll die. They live in the underworld and humans on top. 
I got this idea from the 'what if' statement: "What If Hell was real? What would it look like and what would be there?" 
This book is also to get all my story ideas out of my head and not thrown away, it's to see how far my ideas go and if they'd be any good. So on that note, it's just for fun and I don't intend for it to be J.K Rowling good, I'd say it's "just a fun story idea I had" good. My writing description is poor so  don't expect massive paragraphs explaining how things looked. I will also try to keep this "cursing free" (No swearing). However, there might be times when there will be a need for profane language but I will use a warning at the beginning of the chapter. 
Sometimes it will be first person and others third, just so you know.

Unfortunately there's no option for there to be a female and male lead so I just left it at Male. The Male and Female main leads are equally as important as each other so please don't say "this booko is sexist because it has a Male lead". In fact I think the Male needs the female more so I'd say it has a female lead. 
So this story is about:-

-A girl falls through the black abyss and lands in what they describe as "Ankoku machi" or "Nōritān no basho". "Nōritān no basho" means "the place of no return" in Japanese and "Ankoku machi" means "underworld" in Japanese. They are both used in this book by different miscellaneous characters
-She meets some monsters (Ghouls, vampires and demons) who want to eat her but is then saved by lead Male
-He makes it his obligation to help her back home with the condition that she forgets what she saw
-She accepts and they travel across the underworld to get to The "Monsutā no ō" (king of monsters) also known as Gaichii.
They meet dangers along the way but that is to be expected, this is an adventure/fantasy/horror book after all. I'll save the main character names reveal for the book, not here. 
This is based off a manga I read a while back, so it might have themes that resemble anime for fans of anime, but most books I read on here have anime/manga themes like Japanese words or names and settings. So if you're not a fan of any of that please don't read this.
Anyway I think that's all.

CALLEA'S eyebrows were drawn together as she walked down the living room. She had been trying to recover from the days she had to entertain Deive's grandfather and her own family and she wanted to catch up with work. Surprisingly, she got along just fine with Don Jorje. He liked old jazz and her piano pieces. He was also into history so they had a lot to discuss. He asked her to visit him in Manila.

She thought she could have a peaceful time for herself since Deive went to the field to help out Torque with harvesting vegetables. He needed to impress her cousin. And since Lee is a financial analyst, he would ask for his help on business as well.

She didn't expect any visitors coming for her. Then she saw who was sitting on the sofa. It was her publisher, Mattheu Segundo. She noticed a black box on the middle of the mahogany center table. She had a bad feeling about this.

He came towards her as she reached the landing. "Finally! I thought you have no plans to see me. How's my most bankable graphic novelist?" he asked and kissed the back of her hand.

Her boss was a handsome and dashing man. A dreamboat for most women. He was a member of Stallion Island Riding and Leisure Club like her cousins where only the rich and young men in the country could join as members like her Torque and Lee. That was why they entrusted her works to him. She knew that she would be taken care of and her identity would be a secret.

"I am good. Thanks for the visit. So what brought you here, boss?"

Callea never visited the office. They just send the check to her bank account and her accountant handle all her accounts. Contacts were sent to her through a courier. She had just submitted her latest book last month. She beat her deadline. Her next deadline was still months away. The renewal of her contract was still a couple of years away. If her publisher would grace her with his presence himself, it must be freakin' important. She was wishing that he was there to increase her talent fee.

"I just visited you. I brought cake and some books on Japanese horror. Vintage ones." There was the sparkle in her boss' eyes as he opened the box. Her heart leaped when I saw the yellowish cover with Japanese ink and an illustrator of a Japanese girl in kimono with blazings eyes, standing in the middle of a bamboo forest. It was something she had never seen before that made her salivate.  It was a forbidden book, according to some. And her boss acquired it for her. "This is for me? This is too much, boss. You know that I am happy that you publish my stories and people appreciate it."

It was too precious as a gift. There was no malice between her and the boss. After all, he only sees her as a cash cow. She was scared of what he would ask in return. It was always business with her boss. There was no such thing as free lunch.

Then came Marina with a green tea crepe cake. She wet her lips. Darn! Her boss knew her weakness and how to put her guard down. They ate while they discussed the comic conference in Tokyo that he attended and how spring came earlier than expected and they nearly missed the sakura blossom.

It was a dream of Callea to visit Japan. She was planning to go there with her friend until her demise.

"I have a favor to ask, Callea." Mattheu's voice sent her back to the present.

"What is it, boss?"

He greased her with a vintage Japanese horror book and a matcha crepe cake. She was ready to listen. Her boss was a wolf. Pretending to be grandma until he shows his fangs. And she knew that she couldn't say no.

"I want you to attend our book signing."

An arranged marriage to a perfect bride.

In addition to its anime, comics and games culture, Japan was also world-renowned for the paranormal; haunted cities, creepy forests, all sorts of urban legends and incredible stories. The Japanese were a society that worshipped ghosts.
Holding an annual National Ghost Summit, groups from all over the country would put on live performances under the theme of "local ghost stories" in a nationally-ranked competition. Such activities preserved Japan's ghost culture throughout the years.
Even for an island that regarded the hills and seas as being ruled by other-worldly beings, the survival of the paranormal culture to this day is nothing short of intriguing.
Although rational scientific thought would advocate for doing away with supernatural belief, in the eyes of the Japanese, ghosts, and spirits were just as tangible and real as the Earth and stars themselves.
Japan's reputation for its horror culture peaked as the movie, Ring, terrified audiences across the globe. However, the paranormal was not bound to merely a movie category. As long as ghosts and spirits remained close to humans, hearsay and folklore would keep the notion of the dead, alive.
Kimura Kazuki believed that many paranormal stories were created from the figment of human imagination and experience, seemingly ghostly, but not. Yet, not all accounts were made up blindly. Some of them were real. So then the question was, how can the existence of the paranormal be proven?
Kazuki did not know.
Naturally, he turned to the most straightforward answer- the internet.
However, Kazuki quickly realized that there was too much information on ghosts online. Most were fake; written to create an air of suspenseful horror. Other than that, the supposed "truth" was only fabricated as promotional gimmicks by those with influence.
Kazuki skimmed past and ignored the locations of Japan's sacred suicide grounds. As those who commit suicide had no intention to cling onto life, they are assumed to have no fixation.
Without fixation, there could not be any triggering of Worldly Reiki- leading to no formation of ghosts. As such, the common belief of suicide supposedly leading to the creation of ghosts is false.
Before the recuperation of Reiki, there are two types of ghosts.
Evil ghosts and benign or good ghosts.
Evil ghosts are said to be culminations of large amounts of hatred toward certain people or things before their death. While good spirits were characterized by their unwillingness to leave this world due to a deep fixation on certain people or things.
It was no secret that Kazuki was more willing to meet the latter. Even if good ghosts were not necessarily 'good,' they were, at the very least, able to communicate with humans clearly, allowing him to understand their requests fully.
However, what bothered Kazuki was the fact that good ghosts were not easy to find, as very few stories are known about them. On the other hand, evil spirits are less hidden.
The search for a good ghost would have to be limited to cases of accidents. This evil ghosts less rare to come by, as long as an eye was kept on criminal investigation cases.
Cases involving murder, domestic abuse, bullying, or debt collection would result in large amounts of hatred, leading to evil ghosts. Luckily, these cases were commonly reported on by news anchors and the media because of the attention they could grab.
Throughout the night, Kazuki filtered through the internet for news on criminal investigation cases. He didn't restrict his search to within Tokyo.
Though only a sophomore, his status, and good grades in Sakura Kyu wouldn't make it difficult for him to apply for a couple of weeks leave. As long as he maintained his grades, the Principal could not care less about where he went.
Not even the Dean of Sakura Kyu could discipline him, let alone the students. After all, the student council president was a member of the Sword Believers' Club.
At midnight, Kazuki concluded his research as his phone ran out of battery. Just after a few hours of sourcing from the internet, he already had a plan.
Akichi High School in the Herian District would be the first site of investigation since it's the closest. The Herian District was next to the district of Jinwen, roughly 10 minutes of travel by tram.
After a moment of contemplation, Kazuki charged his phone and went to sleep. From what he discovered earlier in the day, he needed a good night's rest.
The next day, Kazuki got up, took a shower, and gave his teacher a call to take the day off. He left the house soon after but didn't go directly to Akichi High School.
Instead, he went to the store to buy some brushes and ink, the pharmacy to buy some cinnabar and a shroud shop to get some yellow talisman paper.
Kazuki was going to draw talismans.
The Enchanted Talisman Skill was an ordinary skill that was used during the era of the recuperation of reiki.

Shin closes his book for a moment and rubbed his tired eyes, " Nii-chan, is it really alright for us to not recite the clan's rule? "

A sigh came and Shun take another book, " Do you really think that old man will care whether we would recite them or not?

Shun heard the voice and stop the book the was about to throw, still, in fear, he peeks between his eyelids and found Li Lian sitting in front of the door. 

In relieve, the twin sighs. They looked at each other's frightened expression and burst into a laugh. Li Lian tilts her head in confusion, she turns around the room and found heaps of Chinese dictionaries and books filling their surroundings. 

She points the books next to her and asks, " This? Study? "

They nod and after a moment of silence, they answered her in Chinese, " We are studying, do you want to talk with us in Chinese? "

Overwhelmed by the kindness that the twins gave, Li Lian's lips parted, her eyes soften as she smiles, " Thank you. ". 

A soft feeling grew in their heart, they looked at each other happily and continues to talk together until the sun rises. Apart from them, Kei behind the door faintly smile before he leaves.

Eyes were staring at them. Some looks amazed and happy, while some look envious and disgusted. She looked to her companion, who was looking at the other side, trying to act cool.

GABBY: Sorry.

That was when he looked at her.

RED: Hey, It's okay. Don't be sorry for petty things.

Just when she was about to speak, a little kid(looks like 5 years of age) went to them. Crying and rubbing his eyes to stop the tears from falling again. 

He reaches for Gabby, who bows to see what's the matter, the kid then pinches the fabric of Gabby's blouse and began reaching out to her with his arms, as if wanting to be carried.

Gabby looks at Red, then carried the kid gleefully, trying to cheer him up.

GABBY: Looks like we need to found his mama.

RED: Hm, but this was supposed to be your day.

GABBY: Ow, don't be like that. C'mon.

They were trying to go to the mall fascilitators but every time the kid sees a food stall it would point out the food it wants and cry if not provided with what he wants.

Gabby seems to grow more and more irritated, and her arms began to feel tired.

Red, worried about her decided to get the kid instead.

He was surprised at how much the kid haven't moved around the time he had him on his arms. He calmed down and after a few humming and story telling, the kid falls asleep.

GABBY: Wow, you're actually better at handling kids, hm?

RED: I'm surprised too.

GABBY: Now that the little spawn of satan is asleep...

RED: *snickers*
GABBY: What?

RED: Nothing. Hahahah, continue.

GABBY: Now that the little spawn of satan is asleep, let's go to finding her mom now!

It took just a good 20 minutes then the fascilitators  took care of the missing child. The kid's mom was able to reunite with her son and was very much worried. When she found out that Gabby and Red took care of his son for her she thanked them wholeheartedly. 

Then she noticed that her kid was already full.

MOM: *speaking in Japanese*
(OH my, he ate a lot, eh? Let me pay for the expenses. Little Ichiro is really a dragon when it comes to food. I am terribly sorry.)

Gabby looks at Red, as if signalling him to do the talking.

RED: Me? 

GABBY: Yeah, you're the one who paid for it, right?

RED: What should l say?

GABBY: I don't know. Just say something.

RED: *speaking in Japanese*
(It is fine. We had fun taking care of him anyways. Just make sure to never lose him again.)

The lady bows in gratitude then left the scene with her son.

The pair looked at each other then laughs.

GABBY: I can't even imagine having two kids. They are a piece of work.

RED: Eh, not really. So long as you have enough money to shove food on their mouths and its fine.

GABBY: You don't know what you're talking about. They pee and poo, and will keep you awake at night.

RED: On the bright side they're really cute.

GABBY: Well if you think that way then I'm surprised. You're quite the boyfriend slash father type. You're cooler now.

RED: Wow. Hey, do you want to check a movie  now? 

GABBY: Seriously? You're still not tired?

RED: Well, we still have 3 hours at our disposal. Although you look kinda tired.

GABBY: Well, since you're the one paying I'm in. 

RED: Okay. What movie do you want?

GABBY: Can it be horror?
RED: Seriously? Those cringy effects are-

GABBY: You asked and I answered. 

RED: Okay, okay. You got me there. I'll just buy pop corn and we're good to go.

GABBY: Hooray!

RED: Hm. Whatever you want. After all It's your day.

GABBY: I'm so lucky I have a guardian like you!

People began looking at her suspiciously.

RED: Um...ehem.

GABBY: A guardian boyfriend like you!

Red smacks his face in embarrassment then holds her hand away from the piling crowd.

RED: You attract a lot of attention, stupid ladybug.

With added years her eyes becomes stronger, seeing beings that are not from this world. The older she get, the more she sees...the closer she seems to the other dimension that are usually feared by many. 

While her bloodline holds responsible for her curse, she tried her best to live the most normal life she could in such a scary...monster filled world. But something felt oddly fascinating about her first reaper she witnessed one nignt. He have beautiful eyes, it felt so new, and yet familiar. 

Though the beauty of such creatures were swept away when other stronger beings became fascinated with her in turn. The reaper who saw her that fateful night, though usually tasked to mow the souls of the dead, now proceeds to protect her instead.

Although this happened many years ago, I still feel scared when I recall it. I almost died because of those experiences.
 
The first event happened in 1991, not 1891 or 2091, because I'm still younger than thirty years old. I'm not from the future. I mean, come on. I'm just an ordinary guy.
 
Although I am now and always have been a common person, what happened to me was everything but common.
 
Okay. Let's get to the point. The first part, in '91 happened when I was 6 years old. The story begins as most horror stories usually do, with a dead person in the village.
 
In our small village, people would help each other with events like funerals or marriages. The children in rural areas like mine didn't typically get a preschool education so my mom would bring me along to help. In reality, she was just worried that I would mess up the house if she left me alone.
 
Our people always had an innate horror of the dead, especially the children. I had refused to enter in the house we went to. After some squalling on both our parts, my mom finally asked me to play with the children on the street outside the house. A house, which I may mention, was terrifying.
 
Words fell out of people's mouths as they came in and out of the house. Gradually, I found out that the dead person we'd come to fuss over was a seventy-year-old woman stricken down by illness. She had a son named Xiao Chun. He was dumb and foolish, dumpy and weird, and all around fun to mess with or watch struggle. He walked in a jittering way with an open mouth and silly smile. Everyone around the village called him "Dummy."
 
The older children in the village bullied Xiao Chun because he was one and a half meters tall with an even shorter IQ, despite his age.
 
Though he was bullied, tripped, mocked, and spurned by the rest of us, he never got angry.
 
When my mother disappeared into the house, I played games with a friend of mine called Zhao Jie just outside the door of the fabled home of Xia Chun. We made a pile of sand and put a stick inside it. We'd push around the sand until someone brought the towering stick down, that person would be the loser.
 
Zhao Jie lived in my neighborhood, and his parents were farmers. His father was famous for his knowledge about feng shui in the village. He often searched for good locations to build a house or a tomb, for a fee of course, though sometimes he would be kind enough to provide these services were free.
 
Xiao Chun's mother raised him on her own, since his father had died when he was just a baby. Unfortunately, Xiao Chun was dumb and foolish. He never did a thing unless he was specifically instructed to do so. Inevitably, his family led a poor life.
 
Zhao Jie's father found a great place to create a tomb for Xiao Chun's mother, and him being the gentleman that he was, he did it free of charge.
 
In fact, it was decided that her tomb would be located beside her late husbands'. Zhao Jie's father just went through the motions, spouting facts that I could not understand at the time.
 
As the adults floundered around in urgency, I was playing with Zhao Jie. He was better at this than I was. He pushed aside more sand at a time than I could.
 
I watched him and scolded, "Zhao Jie, you're cunning enough to keep up with the Japanese."
 
Zhao Jie smiled, "Hey, have you seen their movies? Japanese people do foolish things too! But you're right, I'm smart enough to belong to the Eight Route Army, the good one."
 
Just when Zhao Jie and I had finished our game, Xiao Chun, dressed appropriately for mourning, walked out the door. The smile on his face did not quite fit the somber mood or his attire.
 
He rushed towards us when he saw what we were playing. Zhao Jie and I were startled and instinctively turned around to run. Not that we were cowards, we were just defenseless kids! The dummy giggled and kicked our pile of sand before turning around and giggling as we ran away.
 
Leaving the demolished pile of sand, Xiao Chun turned around to enter his home.
 
Realizing what had just happened, Zhao Jie shouted from behind me and threatened, "Listen up Dummy, I'm bullying you the second I make it to first grade."
 
Most of the children in school had a tendency of bullying the Dummy. Since Zhao Jie and I never had a preschool education, we figured we hadn't earned the right to bully anyone, yet.  
 
We returned to our game after the kid left, but the sand was scattered everywhere. With half of what we'd started with, Zhao Jie led the search for more fun.
 
The floor at the base of Dummy's house was pounded solid, so we couldn't dig out any sand. We searched around for a softer area.
 
After a while, I brought a handful of sand and Zhao Jie brought some wood ashes.
 
While a bit dirtier, ashes would do a decent job.
 
"Where'd you get that?" I asked him. He pointed at a pit in the distance, saying "Over there."
 
People in the village cooked using wood. The left over ashes were poured into the pigpen or a cattle enclosure. Wood ashes were good desiccant for the animal enclosures. Mom said it prevented disease.
 
The dummy didn't have any domestic animals, so he made a pit to pour ashes.
 
Zhao Jie also said, "We were also using ashes before too, but we had more sand than ashes."
 
Zhao Jie and I brought more wood ashes and started to play. Just as we placed the stick upright in the pile, the dummy walked out the door. He rushed towards us.
 
Like the brave rabbits we were….we ran away. The dummy kicked the pile of sand again. Our collections scattered in the direction of the pit.
 
Zhao Jie and I were gloomier this time around.
 
The dummy shouted a warning at us in after he destroyed our second sand pile.
 
A crowd of grown ups were giggling behind the doorway. The boy was foolish enough to bully children when he should be mourning his mother.
 
"Maybe he's just angry?" someone said, "His mom died so he doesn't want kids to play in the doorway."
 
My mom came out and ushered us off to play in the distance.
 
Zhao Jie's father walked out saying, "Who scattered those ashes? Sweep 'em away. The ghost will haunt you if you scatter the ashes early."
 
Uncle Sun smiled next to him and said, "Black Zhao, your son did that with the Shi's son, though it was destroyed by Xiao Chun"
 
Uncle Sun's words slipped into the wind and Black Zhao tensed up with urgency. He huffed at us to sweep them away with the whiskbroom and dustpan. "The ghost will haunt both of you if you don't sweep them away!"
 
We started sweeping immediately. Children around here are scared of ghosts more than anything else. I mean, of course I wasn't, but I was just thinking of poor Zhao Jie. To avoid the ghosts, we cleaned the Dummy's doorway.
 
When we finished the sweeping and gave back the dustpan, Zhao Jie's father said, "Xiao Jie, Shi Yong, ghosts dislike wood ashes because the nature of fire belongs to Yang. You scattered the ashes at the doorway before the first seventh night, which would hinder his mother from coming back. "She must have asked Dummy to kick away the ashes." he told us, "If you piled them again, I bet that  boy would try to kick your butts."
 
We didn't understand at the time. However, we were shocked when we heard that Dummy's mother had made him do that. Could the dead speak? Was it a ghost that had ordered the boy's actions?
 
With a hint of fear, Zhao Jie and I moved our games far away. We didn't dare get close to the doorway any more.
 
Uncle Sun sitting in the doorway smiled and mocked, "Black Zhao, you always talk about ghosts. I have not seen any trace of ghosts in my sixty years on this earth. Are you trying to make your son and the son of Shi would frightened until they're ill? If I saw that woman's ghost, I would probably marry her."
The onlookers laughed.
 
Zhao Jie's father smiled and said, "Uncle Sun, there are ghosts whether you believe it or not. I have my beliefs and I respect these entities. You shouldn't disrespect the ghosts even if you don't believe in them. You should apologize for your words, just in case the spirits are bothered."
 
Zhao Jie's father clapped his chest dramatically.
 
Uncle Sun laughed and said, "If there are ghosts, I wouldn't be scared of them. Perhaps I would invite them in for dinner and some stories."
 
Zhao Jie sighed. He began to speak, but he chose to keep quiet instead.

Three days ago, an old lady died in my village. The trouble is she didn’t stay dead. A series of disturbing apparitions and murders  has led a Taoist master to come to my village and begin a battle against these evil spirits. This is the story of my gift, better yet; it’s the story of my curse.

I looked over the man, my eyes capturing all of the micro-twitches in his horror-filled face. I could hear his heart beat picking up. He must have finished off many people with whatever power he just used and I'm the first to survive and act like nothing happened.

My eyes looked over his hands, where the fire had presumably came from. Magic? No. His body heat around his hands and arms is unnaturally high...The fire comes from his body.

A subtle vibration of his forearms gave me a tell and I quickly dashed out of the way.

Just because I could heal the damage doesn't mean I always have to take it. Plus, dodging makes the fight more fun.

Anyway, I kept my eyes on the fire man but opposed to what I thought would happen a blast came from his hands instead of a plume of flames. I had thought his power would be more like a flame thrower but it seems more like instant combustion aka an explosion. Feeling the air unsettle behind me I swung my sword back and despite my arm twisting and contorting in an utterly inhuman way, I felt no strain and my sword took another head off.

Hearing a slap of mud - the dirt below us running deep with blood - I spun around and grabbed the man with my free hand, crushing my fingers through his flimsy facial armor, I continued spinning, building up momentum before finally throwing the poor guy at the explosion man.

He shot through the air and the sudden movement and acceleration had killed him instantly but I didn't need him alive for the test I just did.

I wanted to know how this explosion guy reacted. What kind of person he is.

Seeing him not use his powers to stop the corpse coming at him and instead just throwing himself out of the way, I felt a savage smile spread across my face.

While the man was getting up, I burst into action, a red blur swinging it's sword and smashing with it's limbs. I was a machine of death and slaughter. I remember in my past life that I was so normal, so mediocre. I wasn't talented or clever or strong. But right now...I knew I'd been sleeping on my biggest talent.

My ability to kill.

The method showed me how to use these talents, and I embraced them. The pain of those swords...the pain of having my neck slit...the pain of pulling those swords out...I don't ever want to feel that kind of pain again.

The only way to get away from that pain was strength. The way to strength was through fighting and killing. That's what the method told me, at least.

And it was right. With every kill, I knew more and more weaknesses with the human body. With every kill my crude yet effective technique was polished and my power was used more efficiently.

Crushing the last person's neck, I turned to the now sweating and shivering explosion man. He'd tried to stop me and his use of his power was actually quite good. He'd only ever hit his comrades when I threw them in front of his attacks. But his main problem seemed to be his body's weakness.

He couldn't withstand the rebound of his own explosions for too long. Which further cemented the idea in my head that this was a biological power.

"I thought you'd be...well, a better fight," I mumbled to myself, my voice having changed along with my body becoming deeper and smoother. It sounded charismatic but the lack of emotion in my voice took away from a lot of that charisma and made it less effective. But hearing me speak seemed to unsettle the man.

Which made sense, I guess. I hadn't spoken in...well, I just haven't spoken in a while.

"You speak English?!" he shouted in very heavily accented English and it was my turn to be stunned.

I hadn't heard anyone even reference English in all my time here, and with how everyone looks at me with horror or confusion, I took a guess and figured that they hadn't seen a western person before. Well, that's what I got from confusion. Horror was because they knew what I was.

I had often heard the words 'Aka Oni' being said or rather shouted at me lately. If memory serves me right, Oni are some kind of Japanese folklore monster, right? Have horns and eat people, I think? Who knows what the hell 'Aka' means.

"Yes, I speak English," I smiled as I took a step closer to the man, an idea coming to my head.

Before he could react, I grabbed him by the neck with my hand and with the other, I broke his arms at the elbow joint. He screamed out in pain but I silenced them with a squeeze of my hand on his throat, cutting off his airway and stopping his vocal cords.

"But the real questions is...where did you learn English?" I asked peering into the mans teary and fearful black eyes.

He struggled against my hand and I loosened it slightly so he could speak. The first thing he did was take in a few trembling breathes - the pain of his arms just being broken still fresh and affecting him - before he spoke to me in slightly broken and heavily accented English, "I learnt at Temple! It's...it's mandatory for nobles! Please, don't kill!" he gave out a fear fearful cries as he saw my smile getting wider and wider.

"And where is this temple? I assume in a town nearby, yes?" I asked and he rapidly nodded which confused me; I'd searched for miles around the space I'd woken up yet I'd found no sign of a town or city, "Which direction is this town in?" I asked and waited for him to show me.

He looked at me with confused eyes before realizing what I wanted him to do; point the way.

Knowing that I would kill him if he refused, he lifted one of his broken arms, whimpering and shivering in the process, a few cries of pain coming about when he moved his arm in a certain way.

Following his arm I saw he was pointing over a pretty big hill far in the distance.

Right. Good to know.

I thought this before I killed the man and ripped his head off. I don't know why I felt inclined to end such a helpful guy in such a brutal manner but when some of his blood landed in my mouth, I was surprised by how my mouth swallowed the blood on reflex alone. Like some kind of instinct I never knew I had.

As soon as the blood hit my stomach I felt the immediate urge to sit down and meditate. So I did. I sat down surrounded by corpses and blood and looked inside myself, only to find the darkness and the currently merging 'strings'.

But there was something else as well. A small star, light purple in color, was orbiting the 'strings' in the middle of this dark space.

Pulling on it with my willpower, it started to break up and sprinkle onto the merging 'strings'. I felt odd when this happened as knowledge I shouldn't have began to appear in my mind. Knowledge of Japanese customs. Japanese language, writing, literature, stories. A life of a middle-born noble son who wanted to be a strong Samurai. Of the countless years training with the sword, training with the bow, and learning how to ride a horse before finally finding out that he could produce explosions from his hands.

He was lauded as blessed by the Gods and was taught by many masters who wanted to be associated with such a blessed youth. More training of the sword, more training of the bow, and now even training for hand-to-hand combat which worked especially well with his power.

Not that I got to really see that. But even if the fight was more disappointing that I thought it would be, this information was worth it all.

Opening my eyes and seeing that the carrion birds had begun to swoop in, I stood up and sighed.

I finally knew what the year was and how I'd been here.

It was the Sengoku period or the Warring States period for Japan and the year was 1597. The new Emperor's coronation had been 10 years ago. Emperor Yozei. Him coming into power was why this field was so filled with war and killing.

Looking up at the darkening sky, I let out a sigh as I realized that whatever universe I was in now was completely different to my own. If I were the only one with powers, it could possibly be the same universe but with the appearance of the man I just killed...I'd say with no doubt that there are definitely more people like us.

Looking down at my hand, I followed the memories I had and a few small crackles rippled across my hand, crackling like fire crackers.

Smiling, I wondered what kind of method I'd gained that it would allow me to take powers from people after just a small amount of genetic material.

Stopping the crackling, I turned back to my grassy hill where I usually slept and started walking toward it. There was no point in going to town, which turned out to be in between Edo (Which I recognized as Tokyo's old name) and a new and upcoming city called Sendai. The noble house that control Sendai was really going for the push. The noble I killed was part of that Noble house.

It was called Date or whatever. Not that it matters to me.

Picking up my sword that I'd stabbed into the ground before walking over to the now-dead explosion guy, I continued walking up the hill before I lay down and played about with my new powers.

One minute I was walking down the street, the next minute everything was black, and some minutes after that I found myself awake in Sengoku period Japan, impaled by dozens of swords and arrows. That time was when I first realized I couldn't die. The second time was when I pulled out all the foreign objects impaling me...and I just healed all the damage. Past that point, I took the biggest sword that had pierced my body, and I took a step forward into a new (old) world. People have been getting killed by me ever since. I don't actively go out of my way to kill people...but when they try and kill me, I can only retaliate as such. Which was bad for me because most people tried to kill me on sight for some reason.
