Or, perhaps you've never written long novels, but have the natural talent to write as easily as you drink water. In that case, there's no need for you to read this beginner level article anymore.

In fact, there's even plenty of newcomer authors that feel like it's incredibly difficult for them to write a short, several hundred word long essay, or to write an end-of-year reflection. But, when such newcomer authors try writing webnovels for the first time, they find their minds clearing up, with the ability to write like they are possessed, with storyline flowing out from under their proverbial pens just like a stream of water. Newcomers like these naturally don't need to read a beginner level guide like this one, either.

Those who truly need to read this article are those who put their hands at writing webnovels, but find that their minds are empty or filled with mud the moment they open up their computer documents. Perhaps you're a newcomer author who tried thinking for an entire day but only managed to write a few hundred words that even you think is garbage.

In such a case, for newcomers like you, how should you improve your writing, and write your first thousand, ten thousand, or hundred thousand words? How do you take the first step in becoming a god of writing?

I personally believe that you can try the several following tips.

1: Adjust your mentality and create a precise writing goal for yourself.

Unlike most other jobs, success as a webnovel author doesn't always come step by step. Some sufficiently talented newcomer authors are completely capable of earning hundreds of thousands, or even millions, on their very first novel. A single novel can make an author into a master, or even a grandmaster. There are also veteran authors who have been stuck at a certain level for a long time who might one day have an epiphany and find a new writing style more suitable for him or herself, turning them into a master overnight.

However, the cruel reality is, no matter if it's a newcomer becoming a master overnight, or a veteran suddenly improving, there's one condition that's an absolutely necessary prerequisite—

The author needs to already have strong writing skills. This means that such a wonderful thing is unlikely to have anything to do with you who's reading this article, as you're not even at the beginner level.

For authors who aren't even at the starter level, there's only one goal that you should be setting for yourselves. That goal is to be able to naturally write a long novel. To be more specific, there's two major goals within this goal.

The first goal is to be able to imagine and finish a story that's approximately 500,000 words. Simply speaking, you have to be able to write long novels.

This is because the natural way how webnovels work makes it so that only a longer novel can bring greater benefits for the author. The novel's ranking, influence, and author's fame are all affected by the novel's length. To achieve a respectable degree in these areas, the novel will typically need to be at least 1.5 million words or longer.

Of course, from a professional standpoint, a story written for the sake of practice doesn't really need to have that many words in it. That's because in theory, an author who's capable of finishing a 500,000-word long novel has already learned the foundational writing skills necessary. As long as such an author has a complete outline for their story, writing two or three million words will no longer be so difficult.

The second goal is to be able to write approximately five thousand words every day. Simply speaking, you must be able to write quickly.

This is because there's a huge number of webnovels out there, giving you immense competition. Based on webnovel readers' typical reading habits, only stories that have consistent updates will be able to obtain and maintain popularity. For a super consistent release, the lowest requirement is to update at least two chapters per day.

One chapter might have an average of around 2500 words. At the very minimum, they should at least be longer than 1500 words. This is why, for a webnovel author to become successful, their writing speed must be at minimum three to five thousand words per day. When calculating this by months, this means that you need to write at least 45,000 to 75,000 words per month. This is the most basic requirement.

Those are all the prerequisite conditions for newcomer authors to develop into starter level webnovel authors. At this level, the quality of your writing isn't that important. Nor is the popularity of your novel important, either. Being able to write a long novel and write quickly are the two main goals that you as a newcomer author should strive for.

Something that should be noted is that at this level, you should pay more attention to improving your own ability, rather than worrying about your story. There are no tests for you, nor are there any grades. By the time you're in the middle of the story, if you notice that you're having an easy time writing and can easily write five thousand words per day, in addition to having a clear outline for your entire novel, then congratulations. This means that you're now a starter level webnovel author.

2: Choose an appropriate genre and topic.

With the development of webnovels, there's so many genres out there already – eastern fantasy, high fantasy, martial arts, xianxia, modern, mystical, historical, military, gaming, competitions, science fiction, fan fiction…

All these genres have their own specialties, and have different popularity factors and important things to keep in mind when writing. Also, they all have different degrees of difficulty when writing them. Still, what needs to be noted is that these different genres will have varying degrees of difficulty for different authors.

Perhaps one author will find it incredibly painful to write historical fiction, while writing a mystical story is fun and relaxing for him. Meanwhile, another author might find it incredibly easy to write historical fiction, while writing a modern day novel feels all sorts of awkward for her.

Obviously, for authors that are total beginners, you should choose the easiest type of story to write for you. But, what if you don't even know what genre you should be starting out in?

Allow me to recommend a few easy genres for newcomer authors.

1: Fan fiction

Fan fiction refers to using an already existing story's characters and setting as the basis to create new stories. This is a type of story modification.

For example, you could write a story and call it "Harry Potter and His Adventures". This story could be about how Harry Potter ended up with Hermione, or how he has multiple girlfriends. This is an example of a fan fiction about Harry Potter.

What needs to be noted is that in the large majority of situations, fan fiction authors don't actually have the copyright to their own stories. Even if you wrote every single word of your fan fiction novel by yourself, you still have zero right to use your novel for any commercial purposes.

But, even so, fan fiction is still one of the best choices for total beginner authors. The reason is that they are quite simple to write.

When writing fan fiction, you don't need to think about a complicated world background or any detailed settings. Nor do you need to create a large amount of characters. Even the fan fiction's story can be inspired from the original novel. All these things, especially creating the setting and characters, are what newcomers typically have the most trouble with.

Basically, writing fan fiction will greatly simplify the writing process, directly avoiding the most difficult part of all. Without a doubt, this is the easiest way for newcomer authors to get started.

As for what story to base your fan fiction on, it first needs to be a story that you as an author have already read and are familiar with. Also, it's best if it's a story you truly love, perhaps even reading it several times over. This is the basic requirement for writing fan fiction.

On top of all that, I would recommend choosing to write fan fiction about a story whose copyright has already expired, such as "Romeo and Juliet" or "Don Quixote" and so on. Or, it would be best if you could somehow obtain permission directly from the author of the work that you intend to write fan fiction about.

Of course, even if you have no way to contact the author or obtain their permission, it's still fine to write fan fiction. This just means that you can only write for free, without earning any profits, and also respect the original author of the work. After all, for newcomer level authors like you, learning and improving your writing is the most important part. Since your novels are unlikely to be commercially viable at this stage, it's not all that important even if you write a fan fiction novel that you're not allowed to profit from.

2. Modern novels

This genre refers to novels that take place in a modern day urban setting. The city background is typically where the author has lived and is familiar with.

Compared with fan fiction, modern novels have the added difficulty of having to create your own characters. Still, it does decrease the amount of trouble you have to go to in creating a setting. Not only that, when writing character introductions, you can save a lot of effort in having to explain a lot of common knowledge, such as what a character's job entails, or their social status. Saving all this effort is quite precious for newcomers.

And compared to fan fiction, modern novels have their own advantages as well. That is to say, the author can more easily write themselves into the main character, making the storyline easier to think about. Normally speaking, all you need to do is to give the main character a special cheat, or a unique advantage, and the rest will flow as naturally as water.

For example, there's a very popular modern novel with a reincarnated main character. The protagonist has only a very simple cheat—being reincarnated to several years in the past. This is quite an easy scenario for newcomer authors to insert themselves into. Just think about it, if you can reincarnate back to the past with all your memories intact, what will you do?

Most authors can probably imagine it. If you return to several years in the past with knowledge of the future, there's just far too many ways of earning money. Even if you have zero business skills, can't remember a single stock market pick, and don't remember who won the World Cup of Soccer, at the very absolute minimum, shouldn't you know something like what company you should invest in?

Apart from earning money, don't you, the author, have any other regrets as well? For example, do you regret not treating your parents better while they were still alive? Do you regret choosing the wrong major in college? Are you embarrassed at your awkward attempts to get a boyfriend/girlfriend?

And so on, and so forth. Why are you afraid of not being able to think of plots for your storyline and making it longer?

As for the specific details, those are quite easy as well. For example, if you intended to sell off everything you owned back in the day and take out a huge loan to invest in one specific company, what would your parents say, and how would they react? How would all your other friends and relatives react as well? Who would you try to borrow money from, and how would they respond? What's the specific process of investing in a company, and what procedures are necessary? What if the company you invest in temporarily loses value after you invest in it? Would your parents complain at you and tell you to retract your investment? And how will people react after the company you invested in suddenly does super well and you make a huge profit? And, what will you do with the money…

Just this one storyline arc about investing in a company has plenty of content to write about even simply by following the natural process of how people would act. And if you use that as the foundation and intentionally write some conflicts, such as how the protagonist discovered that his friend who he wanted to borrow money from is actually investing in a different company, how he pretended to have a casual attitude when opening up an investment account made the investment company female employee misunderstand him to be someone really rich, or how people scoffed at him after investing in a company and he made a bet…

Wouldn't you agree that all these related events can add plenty of content to your story? Not only that, it shouldn't be all that difficult even for a newcomer author to write such a story arc.

Even if you're one of the few who feel like you lack imaginative prowess, and you don't have the confidence to create interesting scenarios and conflicts, well, there's still one more advantage of writing a modern story—you can borrow ideas from plenty of sources.

The most direct sources of all would be television dramas, especially those set in the current day. This should be easy to understand.

Apart from television shows and movies, there's also hot topics in society, the news, or local gossip and family conflicts… These are sources that are easy to overlook or maybe often considered boring. But actually, it's quite common to make some modifications and write them into your own novel and borrow from such sources.

This is why, from a certain standpoint, modern novels are the easiest novels for newcomers to begin with and to write a long story about.

3. Imitations

Imitation type novels aren't a particular genre, but they can belong to any genre. While this may seem rather contradictory, it actually means that a newcomer author could try selecting one of his or her own favorite and most familiar novels and imitate it. This isn't limited by genre.

Imitation could be shallow, or it could be a close imitation as well.

To give a theoretical example, perhaps the original story has a main character named Zhang San, who's the son of the sect leader of Green Castle. Your imitation novel could try having a main character named Li Si, who's the son of the sect leader of the Wudang Sect. The original story had Zhang San falling off a cliff and miraculously surviving while also obtaining a book containing a miraculous cultivation technique. After he successfully powered up, Zhang San was sent by his father to go undercover in the Demon Sect, where he fell in love with the Demon Sect leader's daughter. Your story could try having Li Si being ambushed while cultivating and becoming seriously injured, but miraculously having a great breakthrough in cultivation due to overlapping coincidences. Afterwards, Li Si went undercover in the Demon Sect in an effort to investigate who ambushed him, and fell in love with the Demon Sect leader's granddaughter…

This type of imitation requires even less creative effort from the author compared to fan fiction. From a certain standpoint, this is really cutting it close to becoming plagiarism. Yet, it's still undeniable that this is a usable method for newcomer authors to improve their own skills.

But, please note that this type of writing style is only suitable for practicing your writing. If your story is too much of an imitation, it'll be impossible to even make it public. That's because unlike fan fiction, even if you don't use it for commercial purposes, you've still plagiarized and violated the original author's copyright. It might even spoil certain plots from the original story and affect its sales and popularity.

That's why this type of learning via imitation, in principle, isn't really one of the better ways to learn. More accurately speaking, this is the final way to learn available to total beginner authors that have failed at attempting all other self-training methods.

In normal circumstances, after half a month to a month of imitation practice, the author should have some more insight into writing. The author can learn how to design storylines and write descriptions. At such a time, the author can stop trying to imitate and begin developing a completely original novel on their own.

After you confirm what genre and topic you wish to write about, it's now time for you as an author to design your settings and write the overall planned outline for your plot. As for why I'm putting these two elements together, that's because these two elements are deeply interconnected and inseparable.
 
When you're writing the overall outline, this is basically coming up with the story's plot. As you write the outline, what you're actually doing is fleshing out the details for your setting.
 
When you're writing a story, of course, you need to first consider where your story will happen, when it happens, who it happens to, and what type of person it happens to. As the story progresses, you also need to consider who the main character will meet in the story, what time and place he or she meets them at, along with who's stronger and who's weaker than the main character…
 
This is why by the time that you're finished with your overall outline, the world's background, various factions, levels, special abilities, treasures, all the important characters… and such settings will be naturally completed during the course of outlining.
 
The reverse is true as well. If you first work on designing the detailed settings instead, then you'll basically end up with an outline for the story's plot and how the main character grows over the story as well.
 
Of course, there's still some differences depending on which angle you start from. However, newcomer authors like you don't need to worry about this. You can simply create based on your personality and whatever you prefer. It doesn't matter whether you start from the settings or the outline. You can even do both at the same time.
 
For newcomer authors like you, there's only five points that are critically important for you to understand.
 
1.      Having an overall outline isn't absolutely necessary, but having one is always better than not having one
 
Theoretically speaking, even if you didn't prepare an overall outline, it might not affect the progress of you writing your novel at all. There are some authors out there that simply write whatever comes into their mind and go with the flow.
 
Of course, this is all just a best-case scenario in theory. For the great majority of authors out there, once your story's plot exceeds your planned outline... 

Your outline will help your story stay on track in the early stages, but once you reach the mid and late stages, all sorts of problems often appear, such as too many plotlines all at once, self-contradictory plotlines, or writer's block…
 
At such a time, authors will typically regret not creating a more detailed outline, but it's already too late now. Actually, overall outlines have more uses than you think.
 
Since webnovels are typically longer than normal novels, they take much longer to write as well. Typically, it takes an average author several months or even longer to finish writing everything in their overall outline. By the time that they're finish writing everything in their overall outline, most authors will have new ideas and insights into what they want to write. Once they combine their new ideas with their original outline, in a way, this gives them two sources of inspiration. It's basically the equivalent of two people working together, and on top of that, these two people know exactly what each other are thinking.
 
It's easy to see how this can be helpful in improving the quality of your novel.
 
Apart from this, while creating an overall outline, the author can also discover many topics or problems with the settings and correct them in time.
 
To give an extreme example, if you're having a great difficulty with writing your overall outline and don't know what to do with your own plot, this proves that there's a large problem with your plot. You should either make major changes, or delete this part of your plot entirely.
 
So, newcomer authors definitely shouldn't overlook the uses of having an overall outline. No matter if you have a good or bad outline, a simple or a detailed one, as long as you have one, that's good.
 
What needs to be noted is that only outlines that have been written out truly count as outlines.
 
Even if you as an author have a very detailed outline, and even if you've solidly memorized every single plot point in your outline, any outline that hasn't been written into your novel doesn't count as a true outline. That's because when you actually start writing, you'll discover that what you finally end up writing will always have differences from what you envisioned.
 
2.      You need to finish your outline, but it doesn't need to be complete
 
Thinking about your outline is equivalent to thinking about your novel's plot. You need to consider both the beginning and the end. You also need to think about everything that the main character experiences from the beginning to the end of the story.
 
If your outline isn't finished, but only half-finished, you won't even be able to predict the storylines that come later, which will cause you to have difficulties writing your plot once you finish the beginning stages. This is basically the same as not having an outline at all.
 
Still, there's no need for us to make the outline as detailed as possible from the very beginning, with so many specific scenarios for all your plots. The reason for this is quite simple—none of us know just how long our novels will turn out to be in the end.
 
A story that's written with the intent of becoming a commercial product needs to be sufficiently long enough right from the planning stage. The longer your potential story, the better. But actually, how many words it finally ends up with depends on how well your story performs.
 
If your story is incredibly popular and performs well in the market, then we can consider writing it for as long as possible. However, if your story obviously isn't popular with readers, then you can consider ending your story in a timely fashion at an appropriate point in the plot so that you can think of a new story instead. That would be a wiser decision if you wish to become a professional author.
 
Of course, when you're only in the outlining stage, it's impossible for you as a newcomer author to know how readers will react to your novel. Precisely because of this, you need to have a flexible writing plan. What this means is that you should have an outline that's detailed in the beginning and general near the end. For the beginning of your story, you should have as detailed an outline as possible, while for the middle and especially the later parts of your story, you only need some general ideas. All you need is to consider the overall development of the plot so that you know what direction to take your storyline in.
 
For example, maybe you planned that the beginning of your novel will be approximately 80,000 words, and you've prepared a 4,000-word outline for just the beginning. In that case, your outline for the next 80,000 words, the middle of your story, might only need 3000 words, and the meat of your story, another 240,000 words, might have an outline that's less than 1000 words.
 
Of course, as you continue writing your story, you should constantly update your outline as well. You should complete your outline for the next 80,000 words before you finish writing the first 80,000 words.
 
3.      Your settings need to be constantly updated

Just like writing an outline, you should first come up with the basic settings before you even begin writing, which includes your world background, main character's personality, power levels, and so on.
 
More specific settings, such as a powerful artifact that appears in the story, can be added as you write your story.
 
Unlike an outline, you don't need to fully plan out all of your settings at the very beginning. It's perfectly acceptable to think of new settings while you're writing.
 
However, newcomer authors need to note that while it's okay to come up with new settings as you write, you should write these settings down and add them to your outline or settings document as you write.
 
This is to help yourself check your own settings later in the future. Otherwise, a novel that reached over one million words and has lasted for one year or longer might cause you as an author to completely forget about something you wrote before in the past. It's even quite common to make a mistake when writing about the items that the main character possesses. Yet, there will always be a sharp-eyed reader or two that catches the author out in a misstep.
 
If you have a very detailed document on your settings, not only will you be able to greatly reduce your own plot continuity errors, you'll also be able to look through your settings whenever you have writer's block and find some inspiration in a side character that you have already forgotten about or some item that was mentioned before but never used again.
 
4.      It's better for your settings to be cliché
 
Here, this means the systems and names that you use for your settings. For example, the names and levels you use for a martial arts society.
 
Many newcomer authors will mistakenly think that using already existing well-known settings will make their novel seem too cliché, causing them to want to be as "unique" as possible. These authors will use their imaginations to come up with all sorts of fictional vocabulary words, which in their minds will make their novels "stand out." These newcomer authors don't realize that this is the worst possible way to write a novel. In the great majority of situations, this will have the opposite effect from intended.
 
A new original novel that you write should be a new interpretation or story about some specific genre or story type. How to make your novel stand out depends on the conflicts you create in your story and how the main character resolves them. As for coming up with new vocabulary words and names for your novel, even if you make them sound really cool, or make some modified slang words, it's almost never a good thing for you.
 
The reason for this can also be understood in my article about how to write the beginning of your story. By doing so, the author is placing more burden upon the readers to understand a larger amount of information.
 
There will always be other already existing words that you could have used, which are easily understood by all your readers. Instead, your readers now need to spend their time and effort on reading your explanations. Obviously, readers aren't here to read your technical manuals or info dumps. The more explanations that you have in your novel, the lower your novel's appeal and flow will become. But, if you don't add any explanations for your self-created words at all, the readers won't even understand what's going on.
 
This is why newcomer authors should avoid this useless type of "creativity" as much as possible. You should simply rely on settings that all readers are familiar with instead.
 
5.      The storyline should be pushed forward by using conflicts
 
Many newcomer authors will often develop writer's block when planning their outline or working on their novel.
 
Sometimes, this is because the author has made their storyline too messy. But most of the time, it's because the author feels like there's nothing to write about, or doesn't know what they should make the main character do. The author has no idea how to continue their own story.
 
In order to deal with writer's block, or in other words, how to push your storyline alone, the answer is actually incredibly simple.
 
You can answer this question using only one word – Conflicts!
 
Actually, the critical element of all webnovels can be summed up into one word – conflicts. For example, leveling is the desire or need of the main character to become stronger, which is a conflict between the main character and his or her own current weakness.
 
And since there is a conflict, you must resolve the conflict. And so, your main character wants to cultivate to become stronger, which means he needs to travel around the world in order to find cultivation methods…
 
All sorts of conflicts will both push forward your storyline as well as create numerous climaxes for your readers. It can be said that how you design your conflicts is the very foundation of writing any novel, not just a webnovel.
 
As for a more detailed analysis on how to design your story's conflicts, please read my intermediate-level article on the topic. For newcomer authors like you, you simply need to understand this concept, and know that you should keep coming up with new conflicts whenever you're having trouble keeping up with your own storyline. Try finding potential conflicts from plots, characters, and items you've already used, or forcefully introduce a new element into your story that creates a new conflict.
 
This can be said to be one of the most basic techniques of planning your storyline.

I started writing on my firs year of middle school. It was some kind of hero story, inspired by animes and JRPGs. Of course it's about the Chosen One, that have to save the world through power of friendship. That time i have very limited knowledege of how good story work, hell, i even use whole page as one pharagraph, and never indicate which character speak the dialogue.
It's a very straightforward story, and that's it.
My second creation? Oh god...
How do i started talking about this?
Imagine a prepubescent kid, having a lot of thought in his head. He use it to create another version of himself in a fantasy story where he found out that he have a special place among special people.
I feel kinda proud tho, because i've started to move on from traditional hero's journey kind of story into worldbuilding i established myself. Nonetheless, it's still hugely focused on kind of story like shonen anime. That medium will keep influence me many years to come.
My third stories, is something borned from self-pity, self-hate, with depressive tone. Looking back, it's kind of unfortunate to make something like that. But in my third creation, i learned to polish more of my worldbuild technique.
Right know, i think worldbuilding aspect is important to determine how i will write the story. It's no simple mean, because we're talking about macro aspect of the story. too broad to see, and you'll miss tiny pieces that supposed to be important to tell a interesting story.
I did not really knew if i progressed much, because i don't write every single day.
But one thing is certain, is that i love enjoying stories, and more than that, i love creating it.

A little booknote i used to pour my ideas into writing. Once a day, i will write one chapter in english, but my english are not very good. Please bear with it.

Yo guys, I first wanna apologize for the lack of release these past days, I have been focusing on writing down the information in my head in a folder. I am just a man and not a computer, so I wrote the world i imagined it to be down, the magic system, the tower, Ring Functions and many more such as character background, story, powers, potential and how the characters themselves behave. 

Everything is getting refined and improved with each day passing. I don't want to write a story that will have many plot holes down the line and I don't like relying on plot armor to proceed with the story. 

I envision my story writing itself (Not in a letteral sense ofcours). I will create the world, the places, the powers and organisation, the characters and behavior of each. but how the story proceeds is how the characters that are in the story act. I know this sounds stupid from a rookie writer, but I don't want my story to be something that I want it to be. I don't want the story to feel forced, I will write as to how I feel the characters would act, for that I will need to have each and every important character have their traits and behaviors that lead them to act in a way that proceeds the story. 

It is really hard for me to write down how I feel the story should be proceeding, but that is none of your troubles so don't worry about it.
Just know that I won't be dropping it any time soon, for this is my world I envision and I will write this until I reach a satisfactory end for it. 
I'll be taking some time off to focus on the world and characters, I'll hold a mass release once am done doing that.

Deep into the forest, a wooden house can be seen. Inside it were a little girl and an old woman, both laying in bed.

The little girl turned around and looked at the old woman.
"Why aren't you sleeping Lyn, it is very late."
the old woman smiled as she caressed the little girls head.

"Grandmother, can you tell me a story, I can't sleep."
"Alright, let me tell you about the tower."
"The tower we see is not the only one out there. There are 20 other ones just like it in the world, the creation of these objects goes back to the time of gods. Back then the gods could come down and live together with other species, many gods did and live on the surface at it's best, but nothing lasts forever." the old woman let out a sigh
"For reasons not known, the gods fought each other, a gruesome war erupted. Gods fell one after another, the species under them died out, the war kept raging for thousands of years.
Then, on one faithful day, the gates of the underworld shattered. The remaining gods stopped their fighting and for an truce, together with the demon lords from the underworld they tried to fix the gates."

"Did they fix it?" The little girl asked
"They could not, the mana leaked from the underworld had already merged with the one on the surface, so they gods found a different solution. They powered the power of Heaven and the Underworld together to seal the gates. And they did that by creating 21 structures that would absorb the mana from the underworld, heaven and the surface to become stronger and stronger and eventually the gods were no longer needed to seal it."

"but they paid a heavy price for it, the mana on the surface rejected their existence and they were forced back to Heaven and the demon lords also could no longer come to the surface either."

"Grandmother, does the tower still get stronger?"

"Every passing second my dear, every passing second."

The old woman said as she looked through the window, a magnificent structure could be seen piercing the clouds.


(A/N this is my first every novel and I writing this mainly because I enjoy it, I will not drop it as long as there is interest in it and as long as I enjoy it, I will try to have the world be unique; well, at least not cliche. Please do give me feed back at where I can improve and what I can do better. Ciao)

I am staring at the infiniteness of a blank page. The more I stare at it, the more I get confused, and lost. It is like staring down the deep dark old well. Or looking at a colorful painting hanging on the wall that ignites your thoughts, but there's no way you can describe how good that painting is. Every time I scramble letters to create words to sentences, everything just disappears. Gone like the wind.
I want to write.

I have always wanted to write stories, poems, anything.
I want to write a really good story. I want to write the most compelling, beautiful, and honest story anyone has ever written. I want that story to have an impact on people's lives to the point that they have to do something about it. I want my stories to make people feel that they are not alone in this world, and that they can be whoever they want to be.
I want to be able to produce love out of putting together simple words that make simple, intelligible, and relatable stories. I want people to feel, and embrace the power they hold for their individuality by writing about them. I want to make people feel how it feels like to get their happiest dreams and goals, even for a time, even if it means reading that immortalized on a piece of paper. I want to be able to have an effect on people through writing about stories that resonate.
I want to write that story.

Stories are like songs. They tell the past, and the present emotions. They even make you hope for the future. They give harmony and meaning to whatever you are going through. They give you sadness, happiness, inspiration, and life. 
Read, write, inspire, a friend once said.

But it seems like I dont hold the power of a great storyteller. I keep staring on the blank page like a scared, hopeless piece of human being. I don't have the courage to draw out words that hopefully could change the world, or people, for that matter. I keep overthinking: What if I write awful things? What if no matter how I tried, I wouldnt be able to get it? What if I all I write is just pure nonsense? 
I try to always fight the urge to overthink and demean myself, but human as I am, I tend to be insecure. I doubt myself. I question myself of my worth and my capabilities. I don't have enough confidence to just do what I want to do. I cower. 
But sometimes I feel so inspired by the things that I can do. I think about the stories that I can write and it makes me want to write more. It fills me with so much hope that I tend to look past myself. It's the only way that I will be able to do something... anything amazing. 
Writing clears my head. It points me to a direction. It enables me to create the kind of world that I want to imagine and live by. For a moment, it gives me a certain purpose to create a story with characters far from myself and my own failures. At some point, I make characters that expresses my whole true self. I write them like I am them, but I'm not.
I snap back to reality and realize that I have written a four-thousand-word short story. Unbelievably so, I finished something. I feel relieved. A faint smile draws on my face. I want to be happy for me although I know that it's far from perfect. I want to jump of happiness and brag about this simple achievement. I want to show the world that I am capable of creating something good for myself. I want to do alot more with this story blotted on pieces of paper. 
But I cant. And I won't. Because I'm not who I think I am. 
I am only an author of my own story, my own life.
Nothing more.

We are all in quarantine, stripped of choices, stuck in uncertainty.

What does it take to achieve something amidst the uncertainty? Why do we keep doing what we want despite the darkness? Where do we get inspiration after every bad day? When do we say we're hopeful after crying from ultimate sadness we can't explain? Ultimately, how do we build relationships in spite of today's challenges?

Times are hard, but we can always discover ourselves, our love, our passion through stories while being stuck in quarantine.

Time In Quarantine is a little series that shows stories of lives made and lost amid the hard times. It aims to discover ourselves more as we thread through uncertainty.

I'm sorry if anyone is waiting from me to release any of the chapters for the story, but I'm going to have to reschedule sometime in the future but don't worry I'm not going to give up on this story, but I we'll be writing a story called [ My demon king role!] you could check it out, I'm practising and learning with out worrying about the storyline being perfect that I well be satisfied with because I want

[New soul strange start!] I just came to warn people I won't be writing on here until I learn how to write to people to understand my writing because I have so many different ideas but don't know how to explain them to other people personally, but when I do write on here I we'll leave a message on the other novel saying I would be writing here sometime in the future and I don't want to keep people waiting because I'll feel bad if I don't write on here without saying why. I just started learning how to explain my words and I want the story to flow.

If anyone is asking why I never wrote a message or chapter I we'll explain why. 

Remember when I said I live alone and I got hurt then sick. Well at that time I had to skip my class to recover at home but by the time I recovered I had so much work and my deadline was coming up soon, so I studied alone working like a mad man I passed my classes so me and other people get along holiday but because of all that work (big as 2 dictionary books) 

My reason because I was far behind from classes I missed when I was younger so I had to do other classes at the same time but by the time I finished I felt exhausted mentally and physically so on my spare time I was just relaxing my mind and body I have recovered but I was worried what to write so i thought of an idea why don't I just make a new light novel for practice and to write to my hearts content without worrying, but my other thought (but what do I write?) then it hit me I remember a story I was making when I was even younger 
(was on paper) I could write about that, thus that's how I came to a new novel I write and writing as I go on now. 

(Sigh) I'm sorry if you don't believe me but that's the truth. I'm explaining while trying to keep the story short about why the writer (me) and what's happening with my new idea for future updates.

12/06/2020 ~ Queeneth & Sire's love story

"So what do you have in mind?" I asked Sire eagerly.

"Can you come to the front seat of the car? I have something to show you." He asked. I removed his laptop from my lap and placed it gently by the side.  I opened the door to my side and went out of it, shutting it firmly behind me. Then I walked to the side of the front seat's door, opened it and hopped onto it's seat, shutting the door. I was seated next to Sire now. 

I know I could have simply just slide over to the front seat without having to do all of that but it was awkward having my butt in someone's face. Besides, I had tried it once when I was sixteen and I farted in the process. Worse off, I farted on my dad's face and it stunk badly. It was embarrassing. 

Sire said nothing though. He just let me do what I wanted to do or rather still, he was uninterested since what he had to tell me was more important. Then he brought out his iPad and swiped through some pictures in his gallery till he got to a particular picture and then stopped. Then he showed it to me. 

I stretched a little further so I could be closer to him and to enhance my ability to see the picture. It was a picture consisting of a sheet of paper and a quill and a few scribblings on the paper. Then there was a bold writing by the side, which read; 

Writing contest for High school Students. Winner of the contest gets a free trip to France. You must be between the age sixteen and nineteen to be able to participate in this contest. 
Deadline: 26th of July, 2020

"How am I even supposed to participate in a writing contest when I can't even update my story during the week? Besides do you think  parents would even let me go to France by myself?" 

"Worry about France later and start thinking of what you can possibly write that would help you win the contest. How you are going to participate in the contest should not even be your problem right now because I would help you with that. You have me. Don't forget that. You just think of a short story you can write that would help you win the contest." He assured. 

But he had no idea, how long it always took me to come with something to even write. That would involve a lot of thinking. 

"So what would happen to the current story I am updating?" 

"You can make the story a meta fiction. You can write about your life story and about your characters at the same time. You can easily make it a two in one story." 

"Easily? So what do you want me to write about myself? My life isn't even all that interesting. Shall I just formulate some sappy romance story for myself involving some hot jerk of a guy? Look, this does not even look too possible." I huffed, uneasy and uncertain about everything. 

It looked difficult. 

"Calm down Queeneth." He tolled his eyes because It was clear that he could not help it. We were both frustrated. You just can not start concluding that it would not work when you have not even started." 

I took a deep breath and heaved a sigh. He was looking at me with some kind of resolution in his eyes; like he was hell bent on convincing me yet pissed off at the same time that I was not buying it. He clenched and unclenched his jaws and did the same for this fists to as he groped the steering wheel in one hand. 

"You don't have to give your self that kind of stupid storyline. You can simply write your autobiography. How about your legs? Huh? Write about them. Can't you? I've known you for a while now and I know you are not shy or insecure about sharing your story because you have bene doing just that on your Instagram posts for a while. You can simply just write about your legs and inspire people who have bodily defects of any kind. You have been inspiring people in your own way for so long and you have dealt with your situation in the best way. 

You can write about how your peculiarity has helped you attain even more confidence rather diminishing it and besides many people do not  even know what Blount's Disease is neither do they know what it feels like to be in that situation or how to deal with it. You writing about it in your story would be you creating awareness in all of it's spheres. Imagine teaching the whole world what only you or a few people know about? I know it's easy for them to google what Blount's disease is but at the end of the day, they would never know much about it until someone who has been through it, narrates to the world what it is like. You can peacefully create the perfect picture and take your readers on a dive into your world and tell it in your own authentic way. No one else would be able to tell your story like you can tell it. This would not only make you win the contest, it would gain worldly recognition. Pick your pen and educate the world in your own way babe." 

"Hmm." I let out a breathe I did not know I had been stifling. "This is a lot and this would take a lot of time and speed would be needed no matter what?" I concluded. 

"Do not worry babe. We have about a month left to the deadline. You just do the writing. If you are still worried about the current story you're updating, we can do it together. You can write your story outline on a notepad and how you want it to be written on Wattpad when it's being posted and I would do the typing for you. Bring the notepad along with you when we meet next Saturday and write a part of your story too so you can update it on my laptop for Saturday. I would do the posting of your story on Sunday. You just give me the notepad and I would type it exactly as you've drafted it. Then I would give you your notepad the following week and we can continue the routine. I would handle your story while you handle your autobiography. We can do this babe." 

"Why do you want me to chip in my autobiography into my story though? I mean, I just wanna know."

"You know, this is more than just posting your story on a website for judgement so you can win a contest. That is temporary. I want it to be permanent. It is your story babe and the world has to know about it. I want it to be published. The whole world might not get to read the work of whoever won a popular contest or even if they do, it might just end up as a news that would trend for some time and then it dies down but the whole world can have an access to a book forever and if it's in a book, it stays forever and ever. Besides I know for sure that your daddy would be proud of you. You might not like him now because he's not letting you do what you want and he thinks you would have to succumb to his wishes at the end of the day but you can fight babe and you can fight in your own way. There's no way he would not be proud of you and eventually let you go for what you want." 

"You know we meet every fortnight. How would I possibly come to see you next week?" I asked and then I got the answer in my head as soon as I had asked. I snapped my fingers in the air ecstatically. "I can just lie to my parents about my legs. I haven't had leg pains in a while so if I wince now and tell them I was going through a crisis, they would believe me and would want me to come and visit your dad every week. I mean it's pretty easy to tell my mum, "mummy I can't sweep today because my leg is hurting me. It's seriously paining me." " 

We progressed into a session of hearty, long laughter, hitting each other's chests euphorically which made me wonder why we were laughing so much but it did feel warm to laugh so much, speaking of the part tension that was existent between us a few moments ago. 

"It must be a real pleasure. Hmm. That sounds like a plan that would work really well!" Sire added after the long session of laughter. 

"Thank you, Sire. For all that you do for me. I mean, I did not even think of this. Just thought I could change the lives of people around me and do my thing in my own small way but I guess it's time to pick up my pen, huh?"

"All you just need is to stop doubting babe and do your thing because I'm here for you and I ain't complaining." 

He reached out for my hands and he took mine in his, squeezing it affectionately. It surprisingly made zaps of electricity course through my entire body which I had never felt before. 

He held my hand reassuringly and smiled at me, the ray of hope in his eyes was contagious, like a flame on a candle; it lit up my dead wax and gave me a course to believe that now was all I had and all I had to do was think of just one single reason why it was possible for me to participate in the writing contest amidst ninety reasons why it was not possible. 

And that one reason was him. He was all I had and All I could ever need. 

As the sun was setting  on the edge of river in a seeming, fleeting iridescence of pinkish, red and orange colors, the natural hue bliss shone on Sire's face, his brown eyes glistening so beautifully as he stared at me, I could feel my soul beam. I bit my lip slightly from the tingling excitement I had been feeling. 

I made a decision to record every single moment, everything about Sire and how much of an amazing person he was, this moment where we had made a crucial decision of our lives. I was going to write about all of it in it's authentic occurrence as a part of my novel and as a marking of the beginning of my autobiography. 

That was the least I could do, for a person who clearly loved me ethereally enough to make me risk so much and was willing to risk a lot for me as well. His love took me out of my comfort zone just so I could be the best version of myself. 

He came closer to me now and placed a soft kiss on my plump lips. The sunset created a sinewy shadow on his face as he stared at me, still smiling radiantly. It was golden. It made me melt. He pulled back, still holding my hand in his. It was the first time I had ever been kissed by any one yet it was not as stupid or as embarrassing as I always imagined it to be. It was blissful; it was like the sealing of a covenant; a sign to mark the beginning of a radical change; the alpha of our stories. 

I promise to write and make the best out of my story, even if it was for this cause alone.

"I'm coming for you. No matter how far you think you can run, I can assure you that you can't hide and I'm closer to you than you think."
