"What? You don't want it? Then return to me." Xiao Xiao did not anticipate Bai Wu's reaction and reached out to take it back.
Bai Wu hid the book behind his back with a reddened face and said softly with his head lowered, "I want!"
"If you have any queries, just search it online. They have very detailed explanations."
"Uhm," Bai Wu answered softly, where his ears were so red that as if it was gonna bleed.
"He he! Don't need to be so shy okay? If you're this shy, how will you make me feel, as a girl? Don't you think I need face too?" Xiao Xiao reacted as if she was going to snatch the comic book away. Bai Wu quickly protected it by hugging it between his arms.

Currently it's 2025, and guess what Covid-19 still kickin about and doing it's job well. I don't what happened but Donald trump fucked everyone by releasing a cure for the virus in 2022, and somehow the virus mutated when taking the cure and caused a new wave of deaths and now pretty much Covid -19 became incurable even till this day. sadly your boy's destiny arrived, Thanos was right, and I clearly caught the symptoms of coronavirus so no point checking in to the docters I was always the type to firm the pain so all I did was self isolate and hope for the best. It was 10 days in my isolation and honestly it's either I'm high on medicine or I'm starting to look like deadpool just trust me on this. After the 5th time this hour on wiping my nose off all the snot in the bathroom I weakly went back to my bed coughing my literall lungs out on the way. I gave up and dropped down on the bed like a sack of potatoes.

As you know not everyone has a good life. This though, doesn't apply to John, or at least  that was his name. John lived in Canada, a country known for its diversity and kindness. John went to a good school, didn't live in the ghetto and had a loving family.
He even had a few people he could call real friends. This however didn't change the fact John always felt like he was missing something. He knew he had no right to complain as many children and even adults lived far worse than he did, but although he looked at it like this, it didn't change the missing feeling.
Further along the road the missing feeling grew stronger and he finally understood what was missing, Ambition!
What is ambition? Ambition is the feeling or desire to achieve something. That was it! John finally found what he was missing so he decided to try out a bunch of activities.
This however changed nothing. He quit after ever activity he tried. He tried various sports like soccer, basketball and even ping pong. He even tried activities like coding and Martial arts. But alas, he ended up quitting everything.
He didn't feel like doing those anymore, he got bored of them very quickly. This made him get depressed and which led him to feel as if his life meant nothing, as he would just live until he would eventually die, not accomplishing anything. This thought process and him being depressed made him think of committing suicide. He wanted to ask for guidance but he was embarrassed. He didn't want to look weak and pathetic over what he thought were such trivial matters. But doing this made it worse.
That was until he found a hobby that he made fun of when he was younger. The hobby he found and quickly got addicted to was, Anime.
He was always curious as to why his friends enjoyed cartoons as he called them before, but after watching a couple episodes of fairy tail, he understood why.
The feeling of being dragged into a fantasy world where magic and many other fantastical elements were possible, he felt a rush of excitement.
Who wouldn't want to wield magic that could destroy town? Who wouldn't want to be transported to another world and have a grand adventure? Who wouldn't want to find a lovely girlfriend who stayed by them through everything? Everyone would want any of these.
Especially nowadays where women are snakes and men are playboys to which costs relationships to be shallow and all about their sexual needs.
Thus he got less depressed and didn't think about suicide much after he started watching these fantastical stories. Later along the road even anime got boring and he wanted to change it up. So he got into manga, and from there he started reading manhua, Chinese comics. After getting bored of the repetitive Young Master cultivation Manhua's, he started reading Manwha. His favourite out of the three genres of comics he has read.
After getting bored of manwha he started reading light novels and web novels. He got into these after finding out some of his favourite anime and comics had light novels or were made from Web novels.
Overall John couldn't get enough of fantasies. He even read many fan fictions. He was hesitant at first since when you first hear fan fiction you think of some weird Kpop or celebrity fantasies but after reading one John got hooked.
Fan fictions took getting isekaid to a whole other level. People getting reincarnated would be stupidly over powered as soon as they were children and end up having sex with all the girls in the whole Anime/manga they were in.
John sometimes even imagined himself getting isekaid by the one and only truck-kun and wondered how his life would turn out.
Sure people would miss him and he does love his close friends and family but he also wanted a fun adventure and live his fantasies. Would this happen to him? Of course not, he wouldn't believe it would actually happen as it was just his fantasy. Just that, A fantasy. Or at least that's what he thought.

Glin's black eyes searched the inky darkness looming eerily around him, before deciphering the pair of sylphlike twins.

"Stop dawdling and get over here!" beckoned the pink-haired mirthful other.

They were already seated on two crystalline chairs with one extra seat before them. A strange orb of light hovered over them, illuminating them within the deep darkness.

Glin approached warily and carefully sat on the extra chair. Then he noticed the small table with desserts and beverages tidily arranged. Was this a tea party?

"Can I have some?" he asked, his eyes fixed on the chocolate ice cream. 

Silver-hair furrowed her brows, and pink-hair looked at him funnily. 

"Uh... Go ahead...?"

"Thank you very much." Glin shakily moved his hands and picked up the large ice cream cone with shining eyes. 

In the 'past'—when he was still alive, that is—he hailed from an immensely dry area that was tormented by perpetual droughts. Consequently, food was very scarce. The people in the village valued food like diamonds, such that they were more than willing to sacrifice all they had for a slice of bread.

Glin looked at the ice cream's pastel pink and dark brown color with reminisce before smiling, with imperceptible bitterness. Let it remain food for thought as to whether his fellow countrymen had gotten over his death yet. 

Nonetheless, he worried over them stomaching his death; and what about his siblings? Yes, they had mom and dad and the others too, but... Glin narrowed his eyes; what was he fretting about, when he was long dead, his body lifeless and immobile.

It was 'Pink-hair' who replied, still cheerful and beaming as always. "We'll first inquire from the wheel of life to know your next life's species. Then we will take you to the Pool of Memories, which will wrap up the job and transport you."

Glin wasn't surprised much. He continued tasting his ice cream while thinking. 

'I wonder what I'll get reincarnated as! Hopefully not a toad or a cockroach. Boy, he couldn't handle insects, leave alone being reborn as one!'

'But there 'was' a couple of anime where the character pulled a long straw, yet still managed to turn the odds, right? But this isn't an anime or a blockbuster though; I'm also not a versatile protagonist either. Just your everyday, good ol' Glen. 

Fighting powerful demon kings?- kindly, no, I would most likely pee my pants in the process.'

'But still, this whole 'Reincarnation' thing... the old man at the lobby said something about 'being careful not to attract the wrong attention'? What was that supposed to mean? I have a feeling it's something very important.'

Glin shrugged his thoughts away and focused on the massive circular wheel that had appeared out of the blue beside the small table. It was thrice the size of an average man, and seemed too bulky to be turned.

'Pink-hair' and 'Silver-hair' wordlessly shut their eyes and began chanting some incoherent jargons in a language he could not understand. Then the wheel silently began turning.

Glin's eyes looked at the wheel as it turned. 

He examined the three colors divided on the wheel's surface. 

Red. 

Blue. 

Golden.

What were their meanings? Was his new species going to be professed by the color he got or was there something deeper?

Glin didn't dwell on matters beyond his control. He decided to go with the flow, come what may. Cockroach or whatever, come at me.

The spinning grew faster until he could no longer see the hand nor the colors anymore. It had just turned into an array of grey shadows amidst the increased chanting of the twins.

"Sala...ramanhbi...operuityi...gildogar...ama..." As the twins' chants grew complicated and intense, the sheen of bluish-white light coating their bodies grew more blinding. They resembled celestials as their already flawless features became more delicate.

Glin waited with thinning composure, and with slight eagerness; what would it be? A cow, a goat? Or just the same as always, a human? He purposefully lowered his expectations so that a negative impact would not hit him 'too' hard and not have him bawling for days.

Suddenly, the wheel screeched to a halt and a sharp 'ding' sound echoed in the awkwardly silent dimension. 

Glin instantly looked at where the hand had stopped. The color...the color... The color...is... Huh? His brows furrowed with perplexment.

The hand had stopped at the color BLACK. He hadn't noticed that that color was even there since it was so thin, like the wings of a cicada. It occupied less than a hundredth of the wheel's entire space.

Glin recognized this kind of setting. He had read more than enough comics and novels to realize where all this was taking him—protagonist-hood, well...yes.

Somehow, the thought fit. He was a materialistic person and knew how to take things as they came, but really? Him? The nerd who ripped his trousers in a race(ugh, childhood trauma, here you are)? 

The drunken corporate worker who coaxed his stern boss to strip-dance with him(and eventually got demoted the next morning. Also, every workgirl started spreading rumors that I was gay)? Glin's ordinary life refuted the notion that he was about to hit gold in his next life.

'Ah...too much brainwork. I'll know when I get there,' Glin thought to himself.

Meanwhile, the twins had just woken up. The two immediately looked at the wheel with no apparent expectations. Then their eyes laid on the slim thread of black on the wheel. 

Silver-hair: "..."

Pink-hair: "..."

The twins' backs grew stiff and asphyxiating shudders ran up their spinal chords(or whatever they had back there). 

"This...Impossible! How could it be you?!" Silver-hair abruptly exclaimed in disbelief, her veneer of aloofness cracking underneath the overwhelming astonishment. She gaped at Glin with her wide, silver-gray eyes questioning and suspicious.

The latter scratched his head. "Uh...you guys brought me here, remember? To get my reincarnation path and whatnot. Oh, about that, which species am I?"

Silver-hair's face reddened with acrimony. "You... Are you playing dumb? This is–"

The pink-haired young girl suddenly clasped 'Silver-hair's' mouth shut with her hand. She sent Silver-hair a cold glare and the latter stiffened before nodding and growing silent.

Pink-hair had lost her bubbly demeanor. Her face was pale as she glanced at the wheel one more time before turning to Glin and blurting, "Mister Glin Gorham, co...congratulations. You are now a fully-fledged..." 

She sighed and looked at Glin straight in the eye. Unknown thoughts and emotions flitted in her fuchsia-blue eyes before she mouthed the final word.

"Angel."
