Thank you for checking out my very first book, Order & Fate: Rebellious Children! This is the first part of the Order & Fate Series, which I plan on making many more parts for in the future. I've spent the past two years studying battle shounen and fantasy novels, and while I'd say this book is a sufficient love letter to those wonderful forms of literature, I'm also proud to say I've done my part to carve out my own unique style. 

 

Another thing, I have a decent stockpile of chapters stored, which I plan on expanding upon each day. Thank you for reading Order & Fate: Rebellious Children! Here are a few things you should know before getting into the story.

 

First, the chapter-length varies between 1000-3000 words depending on the events. Admittedly, the first batch of introductory chapters is a bit of a slow burn. I want to introduce you to the characters before getting to the craziness, so if you're interested in wall-to-wall action and fights each chapter, then this may not be the story for you.



Secondly, this story is heavily inspired by darker shounen manga and anime such as Hunter x Hunter and Jujutsu Kaisen, with the fights and magic system in particular taking inspiration from Jojo's Bizzare Adventure. If you like anime, then you'll probably like this story. If you prefer Tolkien-esque fantasy, though, then this story also may not be for you.

 

Thirdly, I have a decent stockpile of chapters stored, which I plan on expanding upon each day. Because of that, this series won't be dropped or put into indefinite hiatus, and chapters will be released daily unless otherwise stated. Ilmisya rather than Karwenz was the one who just made that comment, as she had just successfully retreated from the battlefield. However, she was clearly scorched black all over yet still trying to put on a serious expression, which made me really want to laugh.
"I didn't betray my tribe, I only betrayed the will of the Chaos Abyss. I never told my tribe beforehand because this needed to be kept an absolute secret; as long as any information leaked out at all, everything would be for naught…"
Obviously, Karwenz wasn't someone skilled at explaining things, so Ilmisya apparently wanted to explain everything with that mature and naturally alluring voice of hers. However…
"Shut up! Karwenz! You tell me!"
Right now, I was still shocked at what I'd just learned and angered at the way Karwenz still addressed Cynthia. I wanted to hear from the person himself.
"As expected, Goddess of Chaos Cynthia was truly the culprit who destroyed the Mist Kingdom!? Mother Cynthia? You knew the truth and still call her your mother? You can tolerate such a thing…?"
"I'm merely stating the facts, Roland. She is indeed my mother. You know about the so-called Child of Fate, right? Then, do you know how the Children of Fate come to be?"
"Child of Fate? You even learned about that? Aren't Children of Fate simply the most important chess piece of their generation, with the deepest ties to karma, allowing them to possibly change the fate of the entire world?"
That's right, a Child of Fate was still nothing more than a chess piece for those even higher to better control the situation. No matter how powerful a Child of Fate was, he or she would still be nothing more than a chess piece under the control of the God behind the scenes. No matter how hard the Children of Fate worked, or how many victories and accolades they gained, nothing would happen except for the eternal Holy War entering its next cycle. It was so for Karolan during the previous Holy War, as well as "Roland" from the game's history.
"Then, how did they become able to change the fate of the world? Have you carefully thought about this?"
Karwenz's words caused me to pause in surprise. I had only learned recently about the Child of Fate, and had so much on my plate that I naturally didn't have the time to deeply research this topic.
"Chaos' very essence is unpredictability. If Fate is a power of Order, then breaking the chains of Fate and restoring everything back to pure Chaos is naturally the power of the Chaos Abyss. The so-called Child of Fate is a child of the Abyss, the Prince of the Abyss. Not only do I need to call Cynthia my mother, you're her child as well." Karwenz revealed a playful smile. "Time and Space are the most foundational Concepts of Order. Prophecy is a product of these Concepts that allows to see the future. And as Mother Cynthia is enemies with Order, she naturally needs a so-called 'Child of Fate' who can shatter all the prophecies.
"Before every Holy War, Mother Cynthia will use her powers of Creation to split off a part of her own soul and give it the ability to evolve limitlessly, creating a new artificial soul and tossing it into the Mortal Plane. The Order Faction calls this person the Child of Fate, but if I had to name it, I think Child of Anti-Fate would be far more accurate.
"It would seem that the Goddess of Order Astrya on your side didn't tell you the truth at all. No, lying to you will be easily seen through, so as long as she isn't stupid, she probably didn't tell you the whole truth!"
So much information was just revealed to me. Combining all of this information and analyzing seemed to bring me to the truth.
Indeed, my System hadn't lied to me. She simply didn't tell me the whole truth. This was a wordplay tactic that I was extremely familiar with using myself. And, I actually fell for it.
"The Order Faction has its great precognitors, so the Chaos Faction will naturally have its own Child of the Abyss of Anti-Fate. And, the previous generation's Child of the Abyss was scammed by Astrya into crippling himself. It's already such a joke that a Prince of the Abyss mysteriously became one of the strongest supporters of Order. Astrya wasn't even satisfied with that as she even scammed Karolan into abandoning his sense of self to ascend to Godhood. That put a complete end to him."
[…Karolan did it of his own free will. He was unable to resist Cynthia's temptations, and could have become fallen at any moment…]
"Shut up!"
Pain? Anger? Distrust? I was probably feeling all those emotions right now.
I was roaring angrily in my mind, and felt so aggrieved that I really wanted to shout out loudly at the top of my lungs. Yet, I still forced myself to smile as now wasn't a time that I could allow negative emotions to cloud my judgement.
"Hey hey hey, Elder Brother, don't smile at me like that. You look terrifying. Check the corner of your lips."
I wiped my mouth and found that it was bloodied. I had unknowingly made myself bleed by biting my lips too hard. It would seem that I had used too much force.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as I couldn't allow Karwenz to continue controlling the pace of this conversation. I then spoke up in a heavy voice, "Continue. What exactly happened with us back in the year?"
"Yeah, this Holy War is highly likely to be the final Holy War of all. Mother Cynthia desires to have the strongest Prince of the Abyss in history in order to finally defeat her eternal enemy. No, she desires to completely destroy her eternal enemy Astrya, the Goddess of Order. You know as well that the Goddesses of Order and Chaos are the rulers of the dimension of Eich. It will be impossible for any product of Eich to destroy Astrya."
These words caused me to suddenly think of a possibility that caused all my hair to stand up ends. And, my inference was proved the very next moment.
"Perhaps you know already that Eich was almost destroyed previously by dimensional invaders. This is the foundational reason why the two Goddesses desire so much strength. And, Mother Cynthia who was helpless to destroy Astrya suddenly thought of an idea thanks to the dimensional invaders…"
At this moment, Karwenz paused intentionally for a moment to bait my expectations and smiled nefariously.
"…'Since there's no knowledge or power in this dimension that can possibly kill the Goddess of Order, perhaps it will be possible to do so with knowledge and power from another world.' And so, as Mother Cynthia was one of the Creator Goddesses of this world, she paid a tremendous price to break through the dimensional walls in order to insert the soul of the Child of the Abyss into another world. This helped him to obtain knowledge and memories from that world. Then, just like a fisherman, Mother Cynthia reeled his soul back in to Eich…"
I fell silent after hearing this. Although I'd already expected this as there were only definites and no coincidences in the world, the truth was still difficult to accept. So, in the end, even my transmigration was arranged by the Goddess of Chaos herself? We were nothing more than chess pieces from the very start?
"You should already know what happened after that. Since the previous generation's Child of the Abyss was scammed into going down the wrong path, the will of the Chaos Abyss directly attached itself to this generation's Child of the Abyss. The result was that when Astrya came looking for her Child of Fate—the two Goddess's remnant souls had yet another fight that forcefully tore the Child of the Abyss into two souls.
"And, what happened next was even more inconceivable. Originally, every soul should have a portion belonging to both Order and Chaos. Yet, the two half-souls split up like this just happened to be far purer than ordinary human souls. If normal human souls are 50% Chaos and 50% Order, both these souls were more than 90% pure Chaos or Order. And so, a true Child of the Abyss and Child of Order were born! These two children were naturally able to obtain the favor of Chaos and Order, respectively, ever since birth."
Karwenz still spoke with a smile, as if he was talking about someone else rather than ourselves.
"Just like the differences between the upper and lower dimensions, the Order-oriented soul floated upwards, was born first, and became the older brother Roland. The Chaos-oriented soul sunk downward and became the younger brother Karwenz. This was the best possible result for the Goddesses of Order and Chaos! And so, both of them attached themselves to their respective children, and attempted to control their fates so that they would fight and kill each other."
Since Karwenz had explained so much already, I could pretty much figure out the rest on my own.
Cynthia attached herself to Karwenz, giving him a ridiculously cheat-like ability to grow powerful. And, she also arranged the most tragic fate possible for him, because she hoped that he would grow even more powerful after being spurred on by tragedy. That was why she destroyed our Mist Kingdom.
And, Astrya attached herself to me and learned about the concept of "Systems" from all the random webnovels I loved to read in my previous world. After analyzing the information from my world, she decided to give me her prophecies in the form of a "game walkthrough" in order to try and guide my fate.
And so, Karwenz was indeed the Prince of the Abyss, while I became known as the "illegitimate child of Holy Light."
"But! But! They've finally lost control! Their chess pieces have exceeded their capabilities to control."
A fervent smile appeared on Karwenz's familiar face. His mysterious fervor made me feel fear, as his smile actually distorted with excitement, fear, fearlessness, and numerous emotions that made his face seem like a jigsaw puzzle with too many different emotions. I could sense that this was the true Karwenz. Since his soul had almost been entirely stripped of Order, he was the purest Child of the Chaos Abyss that had ever been born.
"Haha, my dearest Older Brother, you possess knowledge from another world, don't you? Right, right, I don't have any such knowledge at all, so it can only be you! You also invented all sorts of random things when you were young. That must have been knowledge from that other world. And, being able to create such a dimension here must be the result of your knowledge from that other world. Yep, this is so delightful, Mother Cynthia's goal that she didn't have much hope in has been actualized; you've truly created a weapon that can actually kill the Creator Goddesses! Do you know just how happy I was after hearing this!?"
Karwenz's fervent gaze looked upon this patch of ice and snow in the Indifference Inferno of Sloth, but he seemed to see through everything. He saw the Tower of Holy Light which represented Salvation at the very top of Hell, and he also saw the invisible Tower of Death. He had long since known the functions of the Four Towers. And, he came to this Tower of Ice for this very moment.
"Wonderful, it's truly wonderful. This is it, this world. Elder Brother, you've succeeded! This is the God-slaying weapon. You've created the guillotine, and I've brought along the prisoner to be executed. Now, we can execute these two Creator Goddesses that caused the world so much pain. Let us take our revenge! Let us first kill our Mother Cynthia, and then kill that hypocritical Goddess of Order! Come, let us shatter the shackles of the old generation, and give Chaos true freedom! Let everything return to true freedom! This is revenge, as well as a declaration of enthroning ourselves! The generation of the Goddesses of Order and Chaos is over. The future generation belongs to us! The Twin Stars of Order and Chaos!"


This is the story of a crazy lich who possesses an internal game system and brings catastrophe to the entire world.
“Let’s look at the daily quests today… it’s the damned choose one-of-two-options-type again. Destroy a town with a population of 30,000 people or above; reward: 10,000 evil points. Steal lollipops from 3 children; reward: 1 evil point. If neither of the quests is completed, then 2 points will be deducted.”
“Tsk! You think I’m stupid? If I really destroyed a town, a crusade of Myth-ranked Holy Knights would definitely come hunting me down. Even if I earned the points, there wouldn’t be any life left in me to spend them. I better just go be a kindly lollipop bandit.”
I’ve already had enough of being a notorious lich. Who says a lich can’t be a good person? I’m definitely going to beat this damned system and be an upright and dignified good man.

In the beginning only Chaos existed,ruling over the multiverse. He then created humans as a way to populate his creation and on that day, from Chaos, Order was born.

Chaos at first stayed away from Order, but over time he fell in love with her and together they had a child. The child's name was Hakai No Ono, he looked like a mortal, the only features he had resembling his parents was the long dark flowing hair of Order and the immense power of Chaos.

On that day the first darkness was born, Order hated this child as he was unstable and chaotic, just like his father. Chaos and Order had more children over time and thus now had six children who they named, Ouranos, Osiris, Izanagi, The Jade emperor, Bor and Kami-gatta. Order gave Ouranos, Osiris, Izanagi, The Jade emperor, and Bor their own universes to rule and thus formed the five great paths of the god, later known as, Norse, Greek, Taoism, Egyptian and Shinto respectively.

Hakai, as the successor of Chaos, felt that these beings called gods would soon betray him if he took over, he decided to attack them and war broke out, this was the first Arcane War and it was the last act of the gods of the First Period, who defeated and weakened Hakai, though he still lives.

Many years passed after that war, The mortals were now at the Third Period of gods, but one being still dreaded that war. Chaos felt that the amount of mortals killed was too great, Order of course was blind to all this because she only cared about her children. Chaos felt that the moment he went into eternal sleep, humanity would be at the mercy of the gods, he decided to take action against this.

Chaos walked slowly towards the black hill behind the palace, seeking the one being who could help him. Chaos' hair flowed with blue energy, and his robes were blacker than night, he never talked but when he did,  disaster followed.

Chaos found a cloaked man sitting on the hill, his cloak concealed his identity to most gods but Chaos could not forget the presence of his first creation, the Spirit of Fate. "What is it you want Chaos," asked Fate as Chaos neared him, Humanity will not be safe once I go into eternal sleep, I need help to establish an assurance that humanity will be safe. Chaos did not speak, these words just flowed into the mind of Fate.

Fate laughed, which annoyed Chaos, Fate obviously knew why he was here and was making a show out of it. "I really don't get you gods you always...." Fate didn't finish, he suddenly could not breath, Do not compare me to those retarded brats you call gods, said Chaos.

Fate could breath again and was clutching his chest, Chaos was truly a monster, he could even choke a spirit. "In the multiverse today, only four children have been born, they are your answer and you can find them in the Village of Beginning," said Fate.

Chaos turned and began to walk away when Fate spoke again. "I know your secrets and plans Chaos, you're playing a dangerous game," said Fate, Chaos stopped and looked back at Fate, My plans will not fail, he said.

Fate smiled under his hood, "And If they do?" he asked. Chaos grinned evilly as he walked away, I'll destroy, all gods, mortals, maybe even existance, to get rid of this headache.

Somewhere in limbo, the unknown prison, awakes a young boy. The boy had short spiky hair that covered the his left eye and wore nothing, when he woke up he groaned and said to himself, "Where am I." The boy didn't except any reply but surprisingly he heard a voice,"You owe me for saving your life," said the voice, "Who are you," the voiced laughed, the boy got angry and stood glaring in the direction of the voice.

"Yes yes, he had that same glare in his eyes, this takes me back centuries. Anyway it's not a matter of who I am more of who are you," said the voice. The boy shook his head, "I don't know who I am, but I have a feeling you do," said the boy calmly, "You are an echo, an echo with a task at hand," said the voice. The boy was hating the voice more and more with each second, "What do you mean I'm an echo and what task do I have?" Asked the boy.

The voice spoke again but this time with so much power that the boy knelt in fear

"Thrown away to the hands of the ancient beast, the child of the shadows slowly weeps. Chaos slumbers and Order reigns, hidden in shadows the enemy remains. A task that he must handle alone, the Emperor of Darkness retains the throne, light and darkness settle the score, only one side remains in the Final War."

The boy fainted at the last word and the voice laughed. "The wheels of fate at last begin to move and a war is upon us."

Kioku woke up and found a middle aged man staring intently at him. "Well kid first of all who are you wait no, who the hell do you think you are laying down naked in the flower field of the Dragon King." Kioku groaned he was tired of answering questions he didn't know the answers to.

Existance has held its breath for too long, war is coming. The balance of power shifts to Order yet the forces of Chaos remain, hidden and waiting. Kioku woke up in the middle of nowhere, without any memories but his name, a voice tells him he has a mission, one he must take alone, but undertaking this mission may shift the balance of power. Who should Kioku follow, Chaos or Order.

While carrying many thoughts and emotions, Noah decided to forge towards the path he was following as he spent some time to resolve the issue of Athena and get her up to speed on all the wondrous things in the Infinite Realm. 
After that, he disappeared from the Infinite Realm just as quickly as he had arrived, heading towards the Fourth Realm of Hell as he knew that time was a factor in what was to come!
While he did this, he checked all the things he had gained in the recent battle aside from the implosion of Fate Lines. The next best thing was the Skill Points, where the ability [Origin Conversion: Skill Point Absorption] shined for the first time as he actually obtained 354 Skill Points from the 7 Star Forgers he had taken down.
This meant he had recovered all the skill points he used to obtain the skill, and had now gained another 54 to use as he wished! 
The usefulness of [Origin Conversion: Skill Point Absorption] would only continue to increase from here as he got back on track to obtaining more and more skill points.
Aside from the Star Forging Cores that he had already given out most of to his subordinates, the Skill Books weren't anything worth talking about as they did not even come close to matching the effectiveness of the skills under his skill trees.
It was these same skill trees that he had actually made a decision about, where he knew he had to narrow his focus greatly in order to have a powerful enough skill tree to stand against Aldrich. The battle against this being that he thought would not come for weeks or months seemed like it would occur in a matter of days, or even shorter!
Thus, he most definitely needed to have at least one skill tree at the Nebula Rank before that time, and he was of course going with the only skill tree he had advanced to the Star Forging Rank so far- The Terror of Aether!
His next best options were the skill trees revolving around Fate and Chaos, but they were far behind at this point as he placed his focus on the skill tree that was only a stage away. In an ideal situation, he would have strived to have his skill tree that relied on the Chaos element near its peak to face the fate that Aldrich utilized, but the power of a Terror seemed to be just as deadly if not more.
Even in the Infinite Realm, Fate and Chaos were unlocked first, with Aether being unlocked after! This led Noah to believe that there was something unique about this element, its tier maybe even being elevated higher than the other two!
So even if he had to utilize some skill points in order to bring the proficiency to a required level in order to upgrade the Terror of Aether skill tree, he would do it! His gaze was sharp as his figure appeared in the skies of the Fourth Infernal Realm.
When he appeared in this unique realm, he could actually feel a sense of calmness amidst all of this, his gaze going towards the powerful energy signatures in the ancient metropolis cities as his figure descended down.
He could sense the aura of the 1st Infernal Lord in the clearing behind the enormous archaic castle he had arrived in before, his figure lying down on this clearing as he saw multiple beings turn their eyes towards him.
All the Infernal Lords were here, with the 1st Infernal Lord looking towards him with a smile as she pointed to a group of bound beings in front of them!
Noah's eyes focused on these figures as he sensed the strong fate essence from them, each of these figures holding varying amounts of Fate Lines as they were the Celestial Commanders that the Infernal Lords captured before the events that occurred today took place.
This was the objective that the 1st Infernal Lord had given to all the Lords some time ago, and Noah would reap the rewards of it now as he would actually be able to complete his comprehension of the Law of Fate through it!
"Fate works in mysterious ways. Even I could not have predicted for things to play out this way."
The melodious voice of the 1st Infernal Lord rang out as Noah activated Apathy while going towards the bound Celestial Commanders. He knew what he had to in order to be able to stand against Aldrich, and he stepped forward as he claimed the hundreds of thousands of Fate Lines he needed to achieve 100% of law comprehension in fate!

On the other side of the Novus Galaxy, Aldrich was floating in the skies of the Sanctum of the Celestial Realm peacefully as he glanced down beneath him.
If one glanced at the Sanctum at this moment, they would notice the golden landscapes to be bathed in a bloody red color, a horrific scene of millions dying unexpected deaths present in the Celestial Realm!
Aldrich had actually continued his cruel actions after he made up his mind, continuing to reap the lives of the force he had created for hundreds of years because he now saw them as useless!
Keeping them alive only meant that they would continue to be fuel for an abominable enemy that actually advanced through the law of fate as easily as one could, while dismembering the organization he created and reaping their lives for himself actually granted him more Fate Lines himself, where he actually neared his goal at this very moment.
