"I think I'm gonna die." I sank deeper on the large single couch.

"You do know it's not possible right." She said seriously

"Uh... Duh? I've gone through hundreths of reincarnations for me to know that fact thank you very much." I snapped back, I just wanted to close my eyes and process everything.

"Just read the information." I said With uninterested tone. 

"Ugh, you lazy bum." She fetched the book anyways and continued

"So the next one is called *The daughter of roses and misfortune* and-" 
"What the hell is that title?!" Iris exclaimed
"Ah... It's one of those..." I've read so many books in my life to encounter hundreds of these books. 

"I can't believe that you're still shocked when encountering Fantasy generator type of books. Those are the most cliché and dumb ones." These are the ones I hate the most. I mean, I have a neutral relationship with cliché but if you multiply it by a thousandth and put it in a book, that's where it gets worse. 

"Ew... Anyways, it's about an earl's daughter named Nora Bennet, she's loved and doted on by her family and blah, blah, blah I knew it... It's those typical crap."

"Ah yes, lemme guess. She captures the hearts of a Prince or king as well as a duke or grand duke which in time turns into the villain because of his love for the fl and gets killed by the prince which became king making the girl a queen.... Happily ever after. " I can recite the whole thing if I can. There's a lot of distinct types. The transmigratory type, or reinacrnation type, the Otome type, the reverse-harem type, and etc.

"Oh not only that, It's all in here." Oh... The worst one, where everything and anything is just jammed pack. I just hope that I don't get to be the villainess. 

"You'll be a side-character named Elizabeth Moore, a Marquess's  daughter, she's not really a character in here but was mentioned once during the annual ball. She spilt wine on Nora and gets thrown to the dungeon by the prince to get killed." Yes! I'm not the villainess! It's easier to build up a reputation than having a set one already.

" The Villainess is Victoria Evergreen, she's the prince's fiance and it's said in the book that she's haughty and arrogant."

"Just get straight to the point and tell me the problem." I said

"It's the phsycopathic fl type." Okay, that's easier than I thought. That's the easiest type of dimension rip.

"Oh, I'll sew it right back up then." Iris threw me the book and I ripped a page.

"Here we go again..." I sighed as I slowly disappear and travel through the dimension warp.

"What's up with that? Can our esteemed card master Bian Yun get freaked out by a card play?" Some people were making fun off to the side; apart from Qing Qing, they would all make fun each other.
Bian Yun's expression was getting more and more serious. Any casualness had long disappeared. All his attention was focused on that little card in his hand.
The joking all around gradually decreased under his influence, and everything calmed down. Now everyone's gaze was on Bian Yun. Even with the knowledge among them relating to cards, no one could touch Bian Yun.
Any card that could make Bian Yun so careful wasn't ordinary goods. What they couldn't make any sense of was how a one-star fantasy card could be worth studying.
After several minutes, Bian Yun finally blew out a long sigh. The group which had been holding its curiosity for so long started asking all sorts of questions at once, "Old Bian, is there something weird in there?"
Holding the card by the corner, Bian Yun put it in the light, and squinted to see its fine details, voicing more of what they had been asking, "This is not a simple card."
It had never occurred to Qing Qing that even Bian Yun would say it wasn't simple, which was more than she'd anticipated, and she showed her astonishment for the first time.
Bian Yun looked at the group's puzzled faces, and put down the card to explain, "In principle, any one-star fantasy card has been so worked over that it can't be worked over any further, with everything that could have been changed with its composition having been tried. But this one-star fantasy card has a very strange composition, which I can't make out."
What he said was astonishing, and what really made them know it wasn't simple was the grave look on Bian Yun's face. It surprised everyone to hear him say that he didn't understand something.
"Who has a card play generator?" Bian Yun looked over the group, who each shook their heads. As soon as he'd asked, Bian Yun knew that he was asking the wrong people. Why would that gang be interested in card plays?
Then Yin Chenjiu stood up and said, "I'll go borrow one." He headed out the door as soon as he said it. Yin Chenjiu was gentle and delicate. He was one of the most popular people from the first group of exchange students.
He came back in an instant with a card play generator. Card play generators were a kind of appliance which had appeared those last few years as card plays gradually became more popular. They could project what the card play produced more smoothly and in greater detail, but at the same time, they weren't cheap. To some extent, they were luxury goods.
Apart from the card generator, Yin Chenjiu also had a card play set in his hands, saying immediately, "The person I borrowed the card play generator from just happened to be entranced with "Wood-Cop" card plays, and said that this "Legend of Master Shi" is also their work, so I conveniently borrowed it."
Everyone pitched in to make room. They were all very curious about what was so special with the card play which Bian Yun had said was not simple.

"I've never seen anything so amazing." One among those who were just opening their sleepy eyes couldn't help mumbling.
Bian Yun shook his head, "If it were only exquisite and meticulous, this card play wouldn't really be anything. The real mystery of this card play is its capacity. In general, the number of cards required to have so many scenes would be way beyond the number for this card play. Which is to say that with this card play set, the number of images emitted by each fantasy card is far far beyond what an ordinary one-star fantasy card could hold. And what you didn't pay attention to is that the dynamics of the performances were outstanding, among the most smooth-motion performances I have ever seen from a low-grade fantasy card."

"Old Bian, If they have such awesome ability as you say they do, why would they use it to make card plays?" Yan Chenjiu couldn't keep from expressing a little doubt.
"I don't know, maybe they were just goofing around." Bian Yun shrugged. With his brassy eyes and especially his physique, making that utterly humorless gesture looked hilarious.
Qing Qing, who had been off to the side quietly listening suddenly interjected, "From what I've heard, a lot of people at Eastern Wei Academy wanted to crack this card play set, but instead destroyed quite a few pieces of equipment. Zuo Tingyi had the same situation happen to him."
"Ruin equipment?" Bian Yun's cow eyes got even bigger, and he immediately said in a low excited voice, "I'll have to try."
He pulled out his card wallet. Like his body, his card wallet was several times bigger than those of ordinary people. It was a good thing that everyone around him was used to it and didn't find anything strange about it.
He very gingerly took out a card with a bright red composition on its surface from the wallet and put it into his apparatus. His apparatus was quite a bit bigger than an ordinary person's, and he'd made it himself. It could accept five cards at the same time, which only a big guy like him would ever use, since if it were used in battle, it was as heavy as a brick.
"This is an analytical card that I made. It's ability to probe, ha ha, is rather huge." Bian Yun's expression was full of pride, as it was one of his most satisfying works.
He carefully put it into the big apparatus, and then also put "Chance Encounter" into another card slot.
There was a light rhythmic sound as a bright screen appeared in front of Bian Yun's face, on which all sorts of wavy lines were jumping about. Bian Yun stared at it closely in rapt attention.
The speed of the jumping lines suddenly increased. And then they became chaotic, until they became randomly twisted up into a kinky ball.
The suddenly-occurring change grabbed everyone's attention.
"What's happening, Old Bian?"
Bian Yun's forehead had started to sweat a little, and he looked nervous while he stared closely at the screen, not making a sound.
The lines jumping around on the screen got faster and faster and more and more chaotic when all of a sudden, the screen went dark, disappearing before everyone's eyes.
A wisp of blue smoke was coming out of Bian Yun's huge brick-like apparatus, filling the room with a burnt smell.
Bian Yun's face turned pale, and his eyes were dazed. It had hit him rather hard, and while he was certainly distressed about his apparatus and the analytical card, it was definitely the hit to his confidence that was the biggest. It was like two jousting knights, and he had been knocked off this horse.
By that time everyone knew that the unassuming card play really was that awesome!
With regard to card theory, the big six were without any doubt way out in front. While the things that they stressed might have differed, when talking about advanced levels, there wasn't much difference among them. That had always been why card masters coming from the big six were the talent in greatest demand, and someone like Bian Yun who stood out among the outstanding, was still more in the graces of innumerable large firms.
However, to be ranked among the top three card masters at the Star Academy, and then to be blocked by one little fantasy card, was unimaginable in their eyes. Even the always calm Qing Qing looked astonished.
There really were many crouching tigers and hidden lions of hidden talent in the world! Qing Qing and Wang Ze looked at one another and both decided in an instant that they must certainly find that person.

Wang Ze quickly decided, "Chenjiu, you're the most familiar with them, go right away to find out any news about that Blockhead."
Taking a look at the dazed Bian Yun, he nodded and turned around through the door.
Looking at their companions looking at them, everyone was astonished.
Wang Ze was secretly pleased by the scene. It would let them know that aces were everywhere, and it would be good to sober them up a little, when always keeping their eyes on the top could be dangerous.
He privately decided that such talent had to be brought over to their side.
A big reason for The Star Academy's decline those last few years was problems with the cultivation of talent. As compared with the other schools, Star Academy's manner of cultivating talent was very harsh, which then led in turn to a longer period of cultivation. A shortage of high level talent had always been one of Star Academy's biggest issues during those years.
Wang Ze was very worried about the issue.
He knew that he had already been fully incorporated into the system of Star Academy, whether it was governance or financial matters. It wasn't only Wang Ze, but all the students understood the same principle, that provided that the Star Academy could maintain its position, they would then have good lives. It was a matter of if one flourishes, all flourish, and if one loses, then all lose.
That was also characteristic of the big six. Anyone who was able to enter one of the big six was gifted and intelligent. As soon as they entered, they bore the brand of the big six. After graduation, they could enter any of the profitable firms represented by the Academy. Not only must they study diligently, but when they ran into that sort of ace, they had to go all out to win them over.
In that way not only would their benefit lead to collective benefit, they would also get rewarded by the firm, which would be beneficial for their future growth in the firm.

Chen Mu didn't know that the Star Academy students were going around everywhere asking into his whereabouts. He had a lot to manage just then, such as buying a higher-grade apparatus. The apparatus that he now wore was still the original model that he'd used before, and it didn't accord with his identity as the son of the nouveau riche.
The demonic woman was very unfamiliar with those apparatus and hadn't paid any attention to the issue. But it would strike people as unusual to have such a cheap apparatus on his wrist, now that he was high-grade goods.
Oy, it looked as though he was getting more and more familiar with his role.
Chen Mu assessed himself from top to bottom again, still feeling that he was a little off.
The ash-colored casual clothes were just right to complement Chen Mu's antique bronze skin. On his feet were a pair of dark brown leather hippy shoes, everything of a simple style, without any ornamentation.
So, what was wrong with it? Chen Mu hadn't been able to answer that for a long time.
He'd spent 300,000 Oudi on his clothes, making them the most expensive clothes he'd ever worn. They were all hand-sewn, high grade fabrics . . . but he still remembered those two words among all that the girl had muttered that time.
He suddenly understood what was wrong.
These clothes were undoubtedly suitable, especially given Chen Mu's perfectly ordinary face, and they also set off a certain boldness. But the problem was that he was now a child of the nouveau riche. Would they wear them?
In that regard, Chen Mu's taste wasn't high enough, even though he knew that the clothes he now wore had improved his looks. Looking in the mirror for a while, Chen Mu had an idea.
He wadded up the collar of the suit and replaced the snow-white shirt with a colorful vest. He also threw his shoes into a corner and replaced them with a pair of training shoes. He rolled up his pants and rolled up the sleeves of his jacket. He left the jacket front open, showing the colorful vest underneath.
This style-less outfit, immediately made him into a different person. Looking at the details, he didn't see any flaws, and he went out of the house to try it out.
Eastern Wei Academy occupied a lot of land, with a complete set of supporting facilities. None of the students there wasn't well-off, with no shortage of children of the wealthy, so that there were enough luxury shops to dazzle a person. There were even jewelry stores.
In his strange outfit, Chen Mu would attract people's strange gazes no matter where he went.
He didn't know if it was from the time that he was with the demonic woman, but his skin had gotten a lot thicker. Chen Mu's looked utterly unperturbed, without the slightest care.
He even went to the jewelry store and picked out a heavy gold chain, which he put around his neck, along with an emerald inlaid gold ring for his finger. Taking a look, he was already completely and thoroughly a parvenu.
Some of the salesgirls were chuckling through closed mouths, while Chen Mu willfully kept the same demeanor.
At the beginning he was actually still a little reserved, but afterward he opened right up. Though he remained as clear as water in his mind, and was uneffected by what was going on around him. He was very clear about his goal, which was now to do things in accord with his identity.
He embraced his new identity from his heart, since otherwise, it would be too easy to expose himself. Failure was always in the details. While his outward manner wasn't at all like him, he was one hundred and ten percent Chen Mu in his mind, where it didn't have the slightest effect.
Who knew if there were people around him with ideas? He would only have one chance, and if he made the slightest mistake, he would be a dead man!
He swaggered into the card accessory shop.
The attendant respectfully came forward, though still showing some ridicule in her eyes, which Chen Mu saw very very clearly. As though he didn't notice, he asked in a loud voice, "Your apparatus here? What kind do you have for me to take a look at?"
His voice was loud, and the students around who were in the process of buying things frowned with annoyance. Once they saw what Chen Mu was wearing, they displayed looks of disdain.
"Would you kindly come this way, sir?" Once she saw the situation, she quickly wanted Chen Mu off to the side.
"This is this year's latest Soft Cloud apparatus. Look at how light it is; you won't even know that you are wearing it. It was designed specifically for battle, and it even has quite a few useful auxiliary functions, not to mention four card slots, which would mean that in addition to the power card, it could deploy three different battle cards at the same time. What is more, it has the most staying power among all the styles. Whether from market feedback or user ratings, it is certainly a very good choice."
This snow-white apparatus was much more miniature than ordinary apparatus, and its design was very clean, without any decoration. Chen Mu really liked it.
Still, he firmly stopped that kind of thinking, and pointed to another one on the counter, "I want that one."
That apparatus was studded with emeralds and rubies, with a luxurious alligator skin band that had a chiseled buckle.
The girl was hesitant, while Chen Mu pretended to wave impatiently, "That's the one I want."
After getting a few power cards, Chen Mu left the card-accessory store. As soon as he left, he couldn't help an inward wry smile, as it was real agony to spend that much money to buy something he really he didn't like. While not knowing if he really needed to do things like that, he did know that he wasn't going to get a second chance.
Sometimes he even wondered about getting out of Eastern Shang-Wei City if the time were to come. But he believed that the scheming demonic woman would never have omitted such an important point. She would certainly be able to find him!
This was what Chen Mu had determined, that while he didn't know what the demonic woman would have to go through to find him, he was certain that she would find him.
So, he didn't dare flee, since he didn't dare to take his own life in the attempt.
He was suddenly really bothered. He felt that he was like a puppet, held by invisible strings, with no way to escape from the demonic woman's five-finger mountain! This feeling of powerlessness and helplessness made him extremely irritable.
He knew that he was in a bad mood, and just wanted to get back early to the dormitory. Perhaps a little high-intensity training to exhaust his spirit and his strength could take away the time to think about those things.
He sped up his footsteps and walked straight toward his dormitory.
"Hey, isn't that the clodhopper?" A high-pitched girl's voice came from behind him.
Chen Mu was really annoyed and walked ahead not paying any attention.
"Ahoy, an old lady calls you and you don't dare to respond?" The girls voice behind him suddenly raised its pitch.
Chen Mu continued to pay no attention, only quickening his pace.
That girl behind him suddenly shouted, "Ya Ya, help me stop this clodhopper!"
Chen Mu lifted his head to look and saw in front of him an impressively tall young woman staring at him. She smiled charmingly at Chen Mu, "Little bumpkin, aren't you happy to have provoked this Sister Phoenix?" She opened her two legs after she finished, and held out her arms, to keep Chen Mu from moving forward.
Chen Mu stopped.
This young girl called Ya Ya came toward him laughing, while shouting, "Sister Phoenix, is this boy bothering you?"
Chen Mu calmly looked at Ya Ya, and didn't say anything. Beneath his calm exterior, he was as irritable as a dry thatched roof that had suddenly been lit up.
He was just looking at the girl in front of him, his gaze like water.

POWER:
Energy of the spirit (Elemental, Fairy, etc...).
Highly efficient to artificial/unnatural lifeforms/creature (Undead, Chimera, Homunculus, etc...). 
It can also boost spell (Mana) or Martial/Trick Art (Vitality).
It's the only energy able to be combined to Mana or Vitality without creating an explosion. 


This energy can only be used naturally by spirit type race and those they blessed with it.

This energy comes from the body after being upgraded enough with a mix of training and meditation. Used to enhance body function to the utmost limit, Master of it can create god-like feat (Ex: Temporary cutting the sea in two), It's used with special Martial/Trick Art to create elemental attacks. 
It help slowing the aging process making some user live up to 200+ year old, no one know if it can go higher. 
It react strongly with mana to the point of explosion.

POWER:
A power found in the air and released by the Dragon Vein (Cemetery of Dragon). At first only used by the Dragon and their descendant (Draconian, Wyvern, etc...), it slowly began to be released in the world after the corpse of dragon started to decay. Mostly used by Caster type fighter, this energy is absorbed inside the body and stocked inside the heart slowly modifying it to become a mana generator similar to the dragon heart.
The heart and vein become a highly durable crystalline material after the complete transformation into a mana generator.

It react strongly with Vitality to the point of explosion.

Transform the user into a white Werelion.
Give an enhanced Muscle/bone mass and durability, it use spirit energy to give a small passive/active regeneration.
The claw are naturally strong enough to cut through steel and if infused with spirit energy can cut most materials depending of the output of Spirit energy put in them.
War-beast transformation is a power given by Star type spirit.

A power used by those pure in soul and body, only available by making a pact with the Nature itself to protect either a part of it (Orthodox Druid) or all of it should the Druid see a part of it endangered (Unorthodox Wanderer Warrior Druid).
The Druid possess the ability to transform into any animal they have an affinity with.
If the affinity is high enough they can transform into spirit animal.
Druid don't need to chant as long as they are close to Nature (Tree, animals, insect, etc...) they can simply ask for help and the nature around them will help.
Druid can use Elemental type of magic but most of them refrain of doing to not destroy the nature around them, most the unorthodox type use it since they are not always in contact with Nature.

Flower Release (花遁, Hanaton, Viz: Blooming) is a nature transformation kekkei genkai, a combination of yang and earth. There are no known cases of this kekkai genkai naturally occurring in any shinobi outside the Hanako clan. This nature transformation appears to be restrictive to simple flowers to the unknowing, often being confused with Flower Ninja Art, but in actuality Flower Release covers all types of plants so long as they go through a flowering stage - which is 90% of all known plant life. Flower Release encompasses trees (such as cherry blossoms), bushes/shrubs (such as roses and holly), vines (such as the thorny bougainvillea) and succulents (such as cacti). The main real restriction to Flower Release is due to climate. If the plant is not native to the environment it is manifesting in, the user will have to use more chakra than the usual requirement to make up for the difference.

APPLICATIONS:
Use chakra to bloom flower and manipulate them to either restrict enemy, poison them, etc... (Suggestion are welcome)

Final Fantasy XIII-2 / Lightning Returns

WARNING, this is not a novel!
Some people may have seen some of my dropped, before they even began, novel the cause of this is that I have absolutely no talent in writing and lose the will to write after writing and rewriting again and again the first chapter so from now on I will simply put my random idea here.
If this can help an author, be it with because of the suggestion or simply give him inspiration with these idea I will be happy!

Here the category, each chapter will have at least two idea and each chapter is part of only one category:

"Your wish is about quality over quantity, So technically speaking you did not waste an 'ounce of your wishes."(Hime)

"For my third and final wish, I would like you to give me infinite System Points!..." (Joseph)

"*Ding*....Host does not have the required wishes to pay for this option!..." Replied Hime, as our MC spat blood once again, due to the frustration of not having enough wishes. (ED: He's easier to offend than a white collage student)

"Welp, moving on then!...so in that case my last wish will be a System Point Generator that is upgradable!" Said Joseph as he quickly recovered from massive blood loss yet 'AGAIN'!" (Joseph) (Author: Still don't know how he gets blood lost even tho his at his spirit form)

As Joseph browse through his Status, he is amazed to see that the system itself deemed, that his soul was so powerful that it has become an immortal soul! As for his age….well...let's not go into that, he still likes to think of himself to be same young *cough* innocent Otaku that likes to fantasize about Waifus. (ED: damn old ass pervert)

"How the Bloody H*ll did I get so OP, I'm just asking, not complaining or anything. Where did all of those bloodlines come from?!, I mean I remember having those bloodlines when I was in the trial worlds, but aren't they supposed to go away when you die?"(Joseph)

"*Ding*, Author-sama wanted to be lazy about character growth….*cough*…I mean due to the actions and experiences in your past lives you gained these as a bonuses, and it will stay with you for the rest of your lives."

As Joseph ignore the first part of the announcement, He ponders over the things he hath done in his past life to get all of this benefits.

"What exactly did I do?" said Joseph outloud.

"*Ding* In cultivation world you reached the very pinnacle, the overlord. Conquering all the lands while destroying all your enemies, you stood at the peak of all beings until your best friend Arthur and your little brother Jacob poisoned your birthday cake with Devil's Regret. As many of your subjects rejoiced at the news of your death as those who wept.

In the DBZ you subdued anyone in your path, weather they be gods, demons, or even the creator themself. To rebuild your clan the saiyan-jin, you trained under the destruction god and eventually rebuilt your clan. Unfortunately saiyans do not live forever and as you aged your power declined until you were killed in a rebellion on your birthday after 10,000 years of your rule. By the rebellion's end there were none left to cry for you.

In the Naruto World you reach the peak, and they deemened you as the strongest. You united all the various gangs(Ex.akatsuki) across the land and overthrew the ninja villages or so you thought. Unfortunately some ninjas survived and vowed revenge on you and revenge they got. They tied burned you alive after poisoning your birthday cake to weaken you….Does this Satisfy Host question?" (Hime)

"Should I really be burdened with this type of Power? Hime you do know that this young master is already too powerful to enter the lower worlds I wanted to visit, they would not be able to contain my powers. Heck, it might even lead to their destruction! What will happen to my Waifus then?!" Replied Joseph with a hint of bitterness and narcissism.

"Calculating all of the possibilities for the host to try….*Ding*..... Host can just Reincarnate as a baby, I will restrict your power till you reach the viable age where the planet itself has benefitted on the small amount of energy leakage you've been giving it and will have it's foundations and inhabitants potential drastically increased and strengthened." (Hime)

"Great idea, I knew that you loved the harem idea." (Joseph)

"Since we both want the harem to happen the best place to reincarnate in is obviously…"

His First Life he lived his life as a Normal Otaku being on Earth.

In his second life, he learned how to cultivate  and reach the peak, he became an overlord.

In his third life, he learned how to control Ki, and manage to subdued all the gods and the creators.

In his fourth life, he learned how to control Chakra, and reach the apex of the world.

In his fifth life, he manage to earn a system that contains 3 wishes and a chance to travel the anime/marvel multiverse, follow our rejuvenated Otaku as he travels the multiverse conquering and making the greatest harem you will ever see!


I will be posting randomly as I do not have a assigned schedule yet.

Ves completely forgot about the Festive Cloud Generator. The QuickForge system he used in Leemar didn't include the decorative component in its catalog. Even if it did, he didn't want to waste any time trying to incorporate a component with next to zero combat application.

"Even if it's useless, it still looks cool."

Local mech culture out here in the rim frowned upon a lack of professionalism. Mechs were vital weapons of war and their exterior should reflect their bloody purpose. That was why Vincent Ricklin's codpiece-sporting mech had been so widely derided.

Somehow, his frequent use of the Festive Cloud Generator got a pass. In most mockups, his mechs were usually displayed with the generator turned off. This made his mechs appear more sober than they actually were.

Only when a pilot bought the mech did they realize their mech emitted colored smoke from various parts of their mechs. Since the smoke only made them look cooler, hardly anyone complained.

Before he incorporated the generator, Ves first had to define his mech. An imaginary character called the Instructor acted as his inspiration. He thought about bestowing his variant with the same name.

"No, that won't work." He shook his head. "It not only sounds boring, it will give my customers the mistaken impression that it is a mech meant to be piloted by teachers instead of students."

How could he come up with a name that reflected the Instructor's values while making his mech attractive to the young?

The Instructor fed the flames of passion in his youth, using it to accomplish many feats. Though age has tempered the fire, it continued to kindle, ready to flare up when called to battle. The man was old in temperament but young in heart.

"Young Blood."

The name came out of nowhere, but it described the Instructor's drive. Even after achieving immortality, he never stopped advancing his swordsmanship.

Besides conforming nicely with his mental image, the name should also appeal to the target segment. As a business owner, Ves knew the importance of a good name. Great marketing began with an attractive product.

Many potential customers might only ever encounter his products when they stumble upon their names. Having a great name made it a little more likely that they clicked on it in order to learn more. From there, Ves could employ many other methods in order to increase his sales.

By mentioning blood, Ves was obliged to incorporate its color to his mech. He did it in an understated way by coating the Young Blood in a plain metallic color which was traditional to knights. He merely sneaked in a subtle reflective sheen in red.

In order to break up the monotonous appearance, Ves added golden decorative streaks around the torso. He was careful not to overdo it. The only part he spent more effort on was the variant's large, round shield. He painted a stylized lotus flower in yellow onto its surface.

Why a lotus? Ves imagined the Instructor loved to watch over the lotus flowers in the imperial palace's gardens. The flower stood for serenity, which might be a strange thing to include onto a shield meant to bash enemy mechs. Ves merely wanted to add something that looked good. The meaning wasn't important.

With this addition, Ves picked two different locations to include a Festive Cloud Generator. He attached a small-sized module to the shield. After rearranging its rim, Ves programmed the shield to emit a large quantity of yellow smoke whenever the Young Blood enhanced its shield bash.

By limiting the emission to the moment of impact, Ves was able to drastically reduce the size of the additional module. He did not want to go through another round of testing and simulation in order to properly integrate the generator.

He also installed a pair of cloud generators in the legs. Just like the shield, the generators only activated when the mech was about to perform a burst dash. He dyed the smoke in red this time in order to give his mech an impressive streak from behind.

After finishing the aesthetics of his design, Ves finally put down all of his work. "It's time to face the piper. Go ahead, System. Hit me with your report."

Overall evaluation: The Young Blood is an affordable variant that retains much of its durability while benefiting from increased flexibility. A comprehensive rework of all of its systems has raised many of its parameters. A largely coherent thread of X-Factor suffuses the entire design. This is all the more impressive when the inspiration to the X-Factor consists of a single mech designer's idle fantasy.

"Yes!" Ves rose from his chair. "I succeeded! My X-Factor has reached a score of C!"

Though it fell short of the C+ that Ves had reached with the Marc Antony and the Unicorn, those mechs came about in very special circumstances. It wasn't easy for Ves to feel all fired up. He was content with finding the way to reach the range of Cs when working on routine designs.

The relatively high score also validated his assumption that the X-Factor was not limited to physical constraints. At least, up to this point. Ves still consciously limited his imagination to myths that were larger than men, but less than gods.

"I don't want to find out what will happen if I take the old Christian God as my inspiration. I really don't want to open that particular can of worms."

Ves also achieved a twenty percent performance improvement without making use of expensive gadgets. He only brought in a ready-made sword to replace the spear. This was an incredible milestone, and one that Ves expected to surpass in the future.

The 600 DP reward came at a very nice time. The three weeks of slogging and maintaining his focus handsomely paid off. Ves only lamented that he was only a couple of DP short of reaching 2000 DP.

"Come on System, don't be such a tease. I deserve a treat!"

[Two-thirds of your design's improvements is attributed to updating an outdated mech with modern techniques. The performance increase that can be traced to your own original solutions is significantly smaller. Remember, you must study hard, but the only way to reach the pinnacle is to walk your own road.]

He bent over his head in defeat. The System was heartless as ever. "It's true that I copied and pasted from many other sources. I shouldn't be too proud with my design."

After regaining some of his mood, he logged into Iron Spirit. Ves imported the design to Iron Spirit and started fabricating a copy in the game's virtual workshop. Due to his extensive familiarity with his own design, Ves had no trouble with building up the virtual mech, even while maintaining his concentration.

He imagined bringing an incarnation of the Instructor to life. "How will he react to coming into life in a virtual game simulation? Will he be happy to experience new things? Will be be sad that he will give up control over his own body? Perhaps he might find joy in guiding the young and eager pilots who enter his cockpit."

Unlike his previous inspirations, the Instructor was his sole creation. He became invested in its myth to the point of treating it like a living person.

For a time, the line between reality and fantasy seemed blurred.

Only when Ves finally finished the fabrication process did he wake from his fugue. "That's a little weird. What was I thinking?"

He spent less time fabricating the mech than he thought. It only took a full day instead of the two days he originally budgeted. Despite the expedited process, the game did not detect any faults when Ves finalized its build.

He didn't forget to add a gold label inside the cockpit before he did so. He configured the design settings so that it would turn into silver when he let Iron Spirit sell a duplicated copy of the variant. Ves did not want the gold label to proliferate too much.

Ves entered the market interface and set the prices to both the gold label and silver label mechs. Different from last time, he did not use the minimum possible floor price but instead added a small profit margin to both products.

It didn't matter to the gold label because only one existed, but it represented a fairly different positioning to the silver label mechs.

Basically, Ves thought his Young Blood was good enough to deserve such a price. It also made more sense to charge this much. If he continued to hold on to bargain bin pricing, then his customers would subconsciously assume his mechs only performed as good as all the other trash mechs in this price segment.

He still wanted to earn as much DP as possible. That hadn't changed at all. Ves merely followed good business sense by managing the perception of his products.

Just as he was about to release his variant to the virtual market, he paused.

"This isn't a casual product. This is my first public design since coming back from Leemar. There should be some fanfare involved with the debut of this design."

Ves turned away from the market interface and instead pulled up his comm. He placed a call to his mech broker.

"Ves?" Marcella yawned as she looked up from her digital paperwork. "Have you finished the rework?"

"No, I haven't started yet on updating the Marc Antony. I'm calling you because I want your help in publicizing my latest virtual design."

Ves sent over the Young Blood's spec sheet along with some other data. He briefly explained why he spent time on a virtual design to begin with. Of course, he only limited his reasons to familiarizing himself with the knight archetype and to follow the current market trend for practice mechs.

Marcella did not need to know about his need to earn Design Points.

"I see. While it isn't conventional, I can see how we can spin it in a positive direction. However, you should be aware that marketing your variant comes at a significant cost."

"How much? Give me an estimate, please."

The woman tapped her finger against her firm lips. "For a knight variant with this level of performance, it's best if you hold a local advertising campaign. You don't have the specs to attract a lot of customers outside the Republic. The only thing you have going for is sympathy for local entrepreneurs."

"How much?" Ves repeated, feeling a bit uneasy with the way Marcella prefaced her explanation.

"The short answer? Around twenty million credits for a week-long exposure campaign in Bentheim. Anything less will only get drowned by the bulk of other messages floating constantly in the air."

One week just to push out the name of his variant? "No. Can't you offer anything cheaper?"

"Well, you can also make use of Iron Spirit's internal advertising channels. Again, if you want to penetrate past the noise, you will need to put up a significant upfront investment, say five million credits a day."

No wonder Ves achieved nothing the last time he used the game's internal advertising function. He might as well be throwing money into an ocean.

"Ahem, if you aren't aware, my earnings won't be very much even if I sell thousands of virtual mechs." Ves patiently explained. "To say nothing of earning useless ingame gold currency. I don't see any reason why I should spend millions of credits on some overblown ads that will only last a week at most."

Marcella shrugged, as if she didn't care. "Advertising works a lot better than you think, but I can understand your reluctance. Considering your current finances, it's better if you hold off on any mass marketing."

"Do you have a more affordable alternative? I only need to put the word out for my design. It doesn't need to be anything fancy."

The mech broker paused for a bit. Her eyes brightened as she found a good solution. "I got it! You're a newsworthy mech designer, you know that? Do you know what that means? The news sites want to interview you!"

Ves hadn't thought of that at all. She had a point. As one of the three extremely rare winners of the Leemar Open Competition, the Republic should be curious about his story.

"Alright, that's a good idea, and also costs nothing on my end. I don't know the best news organizations, so can you arrange a couple of interviews on my behalf?"

"I can do that easily, but it's best you only pick one venue to do your interview. These news sites are rather attached to exclusivity. It's the only way they can one-up the competition. In exchange, the news sites will push the interview to a more prominent place on their pages and broadcasts."

Since Ves had no clue how the news industry worked, he followed her recommendation. She had never steered him wrong so far. "Alright Marcella. Let's go with an exclusive if you think that's best. Right now, I mainly want to establish my brand."

"I'll go make some calls and come back to you within a day. Goodbye!"

Humanity has conquered half the galaxy and the Age of Mechs reigns supreme!

Ves Larkinson lacked the genetic aptitude to become a famed mech pilot. Fighting against his fate, he studied mech design in order to express his love for mechs as a builder instead of a soldier.

When Ves graduated from college, he returned to a new but empty boutique. Left with a small, newly founded mech workshop that his father painstakingly built with a mountain of debt, Ves somehow needs to make ends meet with the bank breathing down his neck.

In the midst of his despair, he found salvation from another legacy his father had left.

"Welcome to the Mech Designer System. Please design your new mech."

          A strange creature is floating in the colorless space. This creature has the appearance of an eyeball, but its similarity with an eyeball stops here. Most of the creature's metallic black surface is covered by glowing circuitry lines that merge into its neon blue iris, and the color of this creature's iris is the same as the color of those circuitry lines. This creature has a light yellow pupil in the center of its iris, which is blinking in a steady interval.
          At first glance, this creature seems like a nightmarish creature that comes out of a sci-fi movie, but this creature is actually the supreme being in [Fictional Realm]. This creature is called [Administrator] and its purpose is to manage the circulation of [resource] that keeps the [Fictional Realm] stable and existing indefinitely.
          [Fictional Realm] is the name of a metaphysical realm made from mankind's collective subconscious thoughts and their beliefs about fiction. It is both illusory and reality, existing as both matter and dream.
          As the manager of the [Fictional Realm], [Administrator] dwells in the centermost of this imaginary universe. Although it never left its dwelling, [Administrator] always knows what happens in [Fictional Realm] because it is omniscient. And with [Administrator]'s authority in this imaginary universe, [Administrator] is also omnipotent. Of course, [Administrator]'s power is limited to this imaginary universe alone.
          With that, [Administrator] is an existence akin to God. No... [Administrator] is the God of this imaginary universe. It is the absolute supreme being above all overpowered fictional characters that were ever being created by mankind's ideas. And despite [Administrator]'s power is absolute, it doesn't mean [Administrator] is without an equal, and truth be told, there exists a threat against its existence…
          The natural counter of [Fictional Realm] and [Administrator] — created by the jaded thought and realistic outlook of mankind who was disillusioned by their harsh reality, an existence called [Oblivion] is the natural counter of [Fictional Realm]. Although they were made from the collective subconscious of mankind, which means they share a similar origin, [Oblivion] has an advantage against [Fictional Realm] and [Administrator] because of its conceptual nature — [Oblivion] exists only to erase the [Fictional Realm], a nature that presented a gross disadvantage for [Administrator] and its imaginary universe that wants to preserve their existence.
          [Administrator] has tried countless attempts to fight off the advance of [Oblivion], and yet all [Administrator]'s attempts met with utter failure. [Administrator] has sent off the strongest characters — heroes, antiheroes, and villains — from each fictional world within [Fictional Realm], but those characters ended up as insignificant nuisances against the [Oblivion], which devoured them in the blink of an eye.
          Like throwing countless eggs on the boulder's hard surface, those eggs cannot harm the boulder. Maybe, the more apt metaphor is, like throwing pebbles into an ocean. And it was nothing but a waste of resources that could be used for better things.
          Although those characters were powerful, they lacked something that could affect the [Oblivion]. And that something is the [Will of Mankind] from [Reality].
          Coming to that conclusion, [Administrator] had an idea: "What if I summon someone from [Reality]?"
          Since [Fictional Realm] and [Oblivion] were made from humanity's collective subconscious, a person from [Reality] is surely the answer for [Administrator]'s dilemma. But summoning someone from [Reality] is something easier said than done! Although [Administrator] is peerless in the scope of [Fictional Realm], [Administrator] is only peerless in this imaginary universe and cannot summon a person from [Reality] through conventional means that often happened in Portal Fantasy stories. As an aside, [Administrator] intimately knows the concept of Hero Summoning from many worlds within this imaginary universe. After all, all fictional ideas that were thought out by mankind existed in this imaginary universe. And 'Portal Fantasy' is a well-known genre of fiction. There are countless worlds wherein that kind of phenomenon happened.
          Be that as it may, [Administrator] can still summon someone from [Reality], but not through the conventional means that normally happened in those 'Portal Fantasy'-based worlds. Because of the nature of [Fictional Realm], [Administrator] cannot summon this person's physical body. Only this person's ego can be summoned to [Fictional Realm].
          Furthermore, summoning the ego of a person from [Reality] is an arduous and costly endeavor. [Administrator] needs to sacrifice an exorbitant amount of the [resources] generated by mankind's subconscious thoughts and beliefs. And lately, this [resource] is very scarce and enough to maintain the continuity of the [Fictional Realm] while slowing down the progress of [Oblivion].
          It is clear that [Fictional Realm] is currently in a precarious situation.
          The reason behind this [resource] deficiency is, as time progressed in [Reality], mankind collectively become stagnant and lazy because of the convenience of the modern era. They have stopped producing substantial ideas and beliefs, lacking inspiration and imagination, which are important to generate enough [resource] to sustain the [Fictional Realm]. And so, [Administrator] experienced [resource] deficiency. Still, with the mechanical precision in management, [Administrator] was able to save up the extra [resource] for an emergency. It is unclear if its savings are enough to fuel the summoning. [Administrator] has never done this, after all. There is a chance it doesn't have enough energy.
          "Regardless, I shall do it!" The desperate [Administrator] decided.
          And so, [Administrator] consumed its saved [resource] and opened a connection to the collective subconscious of mankind. And just by doing that alone has taken almost the entirety of [Administrator]'s savings, but [Administrator] soon discovers its saved [resource] isn't enough to pull someone's ego from [Reality] to the [Fictional Realm].
          "Should the energy for keeping my realm stable be used for this?" [Administrator] asked and started weighing its decision.
          If [Administrator] uses up its stored energy that must be circulated in [Fictional Realm], countless worlds will cease to exist at once. And without those worlds to slow down [Oblivion], that conceptual calamity will quickly and easily get closer to [Administrator]'s location in the centermost of the [Fictional Realm]. However, if its plan succeeds, it can stop the advance of its archenemy indefinitely.
          It is a dangerous gamble. [Oblivion] will claim it if [Administrator] makes a mistake, but it can also prolong [Fictional Realm] existence if it succeeds!
          After finding its resolve, [Administrator] discovers another problem, it can't just take anyone from [Reality]! It can't summon someone charismatic that can sway the masses, which is the kind of person [Administrator] needs the most! However, that kind of person is very important in the [Reality], and [Administrator] cannot take that kind of person away from [Reality]...
          Well, truth be told, [Administrator] can summon someone like that, but it will cease to exist because of converting its existence into the required [resource] to summon such a person. In the end, [Administrator] narrowed down the list of candidates it could summon without endangering its existence...
          Somehow, all the candidates it can summon are Otaku or Weeaboo that aren't significant in [Reality].           From here, the candidates are Otaku and Weeaboo who don't mind getting summoned to another world — people who are delusional and dreamer — they know that being summoned to another world is something that only happens in fiction but they still wish to get the opportunity to experience that. They are people without family or significant others to tie them down in [Reality]. And they consider their life is too difficult, and they yearn to have a superpower to make their life more easy and convenient. These kinds of people are surprisingly many. And so, [Administrator] summons one randomly.
          After pulling the ego of this person, [Administrator] discovers that its connection to the subconscious of mankind has been cut off. Perhaps, it is the instinct of mankind's subconscious to protect themselves. That aside, this happening presents a bigger problem for [Administrator]. Since [Fictional Realm] was cut off from the [Reality], it wouldn't receive the [resource] to maintain the existence of [Fictional Realm]. 
          [Administrator]'s regret is bottomless, but it can do nothing about it. At least, [Administrator] has someone from [Reality] that can become a constant resource generator for [Fictional Realm]. Well, [Administrator] only grasped a lifeline here. Nevertheless, [Administrator] achieved what it sought out even though [Fictional Realm] and [Administrator] is in a pinch now.
          Putting aside its regret and other irrelevant thoughts, [Administrator] begins experimenting with this person. After some time, [Administrator]'s experiments met mixed results. [Administrator] could turn this person into the generator of [resource] to replace its cut off supply from the collective subconscious of mankind. However, the resources it gained was very limited, even below the standard of a single person's worth of resource it could gain from the collective subconscious of mankind.
          However, it couldn't be helped since this person is only a mediocre person, and this person was under outside influence to stimulate his willpower. No matter, what is important is [Administrator] has realized it could cultivate this person to produce more [resource] for [Fictional Realm].
          Other than that, [Administrator] discovered that the 'something' it needs to fight off [Oblivion] can be produced by this person. However, [Administrator] cannot reproduce this 'something' because the production of this 'something' is according to this person's desire and willpower.
          Because of that, [Administrator] is helpless. It cannot just force this person to generate this... All right, let's call this 'something' as a 'vaccine' to fight off [Oblivion]. Although it has absolute omnipotence and omniscience, its power only affects this imaginary universe, and since this person came from [Reality], he is beyond [Administrator] capability to directly exploit him.
          "Was that Mankind's Free Will? Mankind is an amazing creature." Although [Administrator] cannot directly exploit this person's will, it is still feeling amazed by this human.
          After some moments, [Administrator] puts aside its amazement to this human and focuses on the more important thing, "The best method to cultivate this person's willpower is the reward and punishment method. It can also make him cooperative, I suppose. All right, I shall prepare the tool to help this person's cultivation. First, I shall prepare a system that will help cultivate his willpower and make him cooperative to my cause..."
          There are many fictional worlds within [Fictional Realm] with the protagonist — also called the World's Chosen One or Fate's Chew Toy  —  possessing a system. Using one of those systems as the template is an easy thing to do. After tailoring a system, it is the time to pick out a world to transmigrate the ego of this person, and [Administrator] picks out a world it thinks this person will like to be in. Then, it sends the ego of this person to inhabits its new body.
          Afterward, [Administrator] only needs to wait for this person's development...

A cool breeze lightly brushed through Ling Feng's hair. He was laying on the deck of the fishing boat with sunlight gently pouring on him.

Ling Feng look malnourished like a man who that was forced to be up all night. A hardcore neet certainly did not have good survival skills. That was especially so for Ling Feng who cooped up at home and died from his own garbage in his previous life and furthermore stayed inside a bookstore all day in his current life.

'Damn' Ling Feng muttered. His boat had been sailing for two straight days already. He had underestimated the distance and had already consumed his rations. To make matter even worse was the storm he encountered the previous night. Fishing boats were certainly not designed for long distance sails. He had miraculously survived by desperately clinging on to the side of the boat while cursing the gods. A fished had even made it's way inside his mouth while he was screaming and Ling Feng felt glad it was not some kind of swordfish or magical beasts.

Magical beasts on the Narnea Continent were creatures that absorbed qi and underwent evolution. They had natural physical strength that allowed them to beat cultivators on the same level of qi cultivation. If one had really enter Ling Feng's mouth, it would be a true fatality.

Suddenly, Ling Feng's petite fishing boat rocked unstably as if it was pulled along by some force. On the deck, Ling Feng hurriedly stood up and gazed into the distance. The waters were no longer calm and was rushing forwards with loud swishes. In the far off distance, Ling Feng witnessed majestic walls of fog rising in the air making everything seem mysterious. 'I'm here!' Ling Feng exclaimed with his heart thumping rapidly in the face of the unknown.

As the puny fishing boat neared it destination, Ling Feng suddenly felt his cultivation rapidly leaving him as the qi that reinforce his body was pulled out not that there was a lot anyways. 'Holy shit! What the fuck?' Ling Feng shouted in his mind as his pupils contracted witnessing the ominous sight before him disregarding the fact that he had returned to being an ordinary mortal. 'Forget any treasures, I'm definitely gonna die' Ling Feng thought as he witnessed blackness that seem to stretch towards the horizon.

Ling Feng felt extremely small compared to the large chasm in which ocean water rapidly cascaded down. It literally stretched towards the horizon. In fact, Ling Feng felt it stretched beyond and covered half the planet.

Suddenly, the extremely puny fishing boat rapidly accelerated as the waters began to pick up. Ling Feng's heart definitely did not feel ready as he underestimated the terror of the impossible huge waterfall. As his boat surged onward, Ling Feng suddenly screamed like a slaughtered (insert anything of choice), "Shit shit shhiiiitttt!'' Ling Feng's voice trailed off as he and his puny(10x) boat plunged towards oblivion instantly reaching frightening speeds.

'It's unlikely I'll come across a treasure before i die' uttered Ling Feng as his body was defying Earth's laws of physics and accelerating to speeds that made his skin tear. Being the otaku he was, Ling Feng even in the face of death was about to mutter some typical protagonist jumping off the cliff lines like, 'You'll never get what you want!' or whatnot when he heard a robotic sound resounding from within him.

Ling Feng felt his sight blur and found himself in his bookstore. 'What the fuck?' Ling Feng was confused initially and bobbed his head around like a chicken as he observed his surroundings when he finally recalled his situation.

'Damn! So the powers in my left eye has really awakened and I really did receive a system often mentioned in fantasy novels!' Ling Feng was incredibly excited and couldn't help but pose. He put one hand over his left eye while pointing his imaginary staff towards the sky and shouted, "Explosiooonnnn!".

At this point, a passerby coincidentally glanced into the window of Ling Feng's bookstore and happened to see him pose. He shook his head and immediately concluded that Ling Feng had mental issues as he walked off.

Ling Feng twitched and felt his face burning in shame when he met the gaze of the passerby. He calmed downed and tried to activate his system.

'System!' Ling Feng shouted inwardly but there wasn't a response. 'I don't believe I can't activate you.' Ling Feng spoke through clench teeth and recalled all the ways people activated things that refused to start. He thought about how anime characters smacked their devices to get it working but in his case he could only smack himself. Just as he was about to give himself a hard smack, he remembered how a certain character with spiky hair capable of turning golden in which he gave the nickname of carrot shout 'open sesame' when he was stuck inside a pink monster. In a flash of inspiration, Ling Feng shouted, "Open Sesame!".

In a moment Ling Feng found a game like window in his vision. He was elated at his success and quickly read its content and his face fell drastically like a man that got cuckolded.

Ling Feng smugly smiled as he thought of all the cultivators who struggled desperately to increase their realms to further their lifespans. As a cultivator increase in realms, they would return to their youths and gain longer lifespans and it was rumored that one could become immortal at the 9th realm.

Ling Feng then glanced at the Beginner's Gift Box and decided to open it after he finished exploring the system functions. He then looked at the option that allowed him to ask a question to the system and gladly decided to use the 1 point he noticed he somehow had to ask the system about its functions. Ling Feng didn't want to miss out anything as only the system knew itself best. 'System explain the rest of your functions to me' thought Ling Feng.

Ling Feng decided to now open the gift pack and later parade around the capital city doing something dumb. He rubbed his hands together and put on a lewd smile like an uncle who simply could not wait in anticipation for the gift pack rewards and inwardly thought, 'Open Beginner's Gift Box!'

Ling was your typical otaku...except he died in a not so typical way. He was not run over by the legendary Truck-kun. Instead, he died from hitting his head too hard after slipping on the tissues he left on floor the previous night after an 'intense exercise'. Alas, he found himself in another world with a much too broken system.

Ling: I always wanted split the skies and break the earth like a protagonist but this is too much! The moon is literally falling and lava is actually bursting from from the planet's core!
