Li Xiao Bai's expectations were not disappointed.
After his recital, three more people stepped up.
One was a strong man wearing a golden mask, he was shining in a glaring golden light.
There was an old man wearing a cone hat, he was holding a cane as a green light moved around him.
There was also a woman, she had a slim body and wore a pink dress, her face was covered by a veil, after her recital, butterflies flew around her, it was a beautiful sight.
These three had created famed poems on the same level as Li Xiao Bai's moonlit night.
Li Xiao Bai let out a sigh of relief: "This world has Gu worms to assist with poem creation. Gu Masters are also able to extend their lifespan and gain more experience in life. Thus, famed poems are more likely to appear than on Earth."
On Earth, moonlit night was a rare creation. But in Profound Literature grotto-heaven, it would not be unmatched.
Including Li Xiao Bai, the four of them had their own territory as they looked at each other.
The strong man, old man, and woman placed their gazes on Li Xiao Bai.
They knew each other, they had some sort of understanding towards their works, but Li Xiao Bai was a newcomer.
"Who is this young man?"
"His talent qi is not dense, how can he create such a famed poem?"
"Hehe, interesting guy."
Li Xiao Bai's teacher, Teacher Jiang, also saw his student's performance. He nodded in satisfaction: "Very good, Li Xiao Bai, it seems you are performing well today. Continue working hard."
In the end, no accidents happened, Li Xiao Bai moved to the next round and was teleported away.
After he regained his senses, he arrived in another arena.
"This is the fifth round, scholars, please wait patiently." Li Xiao Bai heard a voice in his mind.
Li Xiao Bai understood at once: "So the advancement has differences as well. The poem I made is enough to pass three rounds and directly reach the fifth round."
"This is quite a logical rule."

In the fifth round, there was only the three of them now.

When scholars made poems, they had to think with all their effort, but he only had to select a suitable poem for his use. This was too easy, he had to conceal the fact.
After waiting for several minutes in the fifth round arena, the second competition began.
He had more than twenty competitors, Li Xiao Bai felt a certain level of pressure in his heart.
The theme of the second competition was out — Travel, the time limit was the same as before.
"Travel? This question is the same as spring, it is so broad and easy to write, but creating a famed poem will be very hard!" The strong man sighed to himself.
The woman was thinking: "I am not well versed in this, what should I do?"
Li Xiao Bai was also contemplating: "Which poem do I copy?"
After thinking for a while, he felt that he could not use a classic poem, the effect would be too overwhelming, but he could not use a bad poem. Otherwise, he would fail to advance and be kicked back to the previous round.

After a few minutes, some scholars already created their poems. After that, a few more started to recite their poems, colorful lights appeared.
Li Xiao Bai sighed to himself, thinking: "It seems that famed poems are not easy to create, these people did well in the first round but currently, they are only performing at an average level."
Li Xiao Bai soon had an idea of the situation but he did not start working, he was still waiting.
As the time limit was about to be up, he finally saw some famed poems.
One from the strong man.
He recited a poem with great battle intent, resembling the march of horses and spears, his entire body was flickering with golden light, one could hear the clash of spears and blades.
The second famed poem came from the woman.
She created a gentle poem, describing a young lady looking outside her room's window, listening to the stories of travelers outside, imagining her own travel journey, it was quite impressive.
"Alright, it is my turn now." Li Xiao Bai coughed as he recited:
Date flowers fall on the villagers' clothes, 
The sound of reeling carts heard from every household, 
Old men dressed in simple clothes sell cucumbers under the willow tree. 
Feeling drunk and drowsy from the long journey, 
The bright sun makes my throat dry, I thirst for a refreshing drink, 
I knock on the door of a mortal house, hoping to request for some tea.
He had copied Su Shi's Silk-washing Stream.
After the recital, be it the strong man or the woman, they were evidently moved as they analyzed the poem.
"Good poem! This poem starts with description of the scenery and actions at the back, with the fusion of both, one can feel interested in the event."
"Even though he is writing about a scenery, he uses his voice to create an image, compared to normal descriptions, this is very vivid. The emotional part is also very interesting. This kid might be a Gu Master but he is very polite and courteous, he does not barge into a mortal's house, he is truly a gentleman and has incomparable elegance."
"Reading his poem shows his nature. This young scholar is really promising!"
The surrounding scholars looked at Li Xiao Bai with a different gaze now.
Li Xiao Bai let out a breath of air, pretending that he was extremely exhausted.
"After this round, I should be able to advance. Not just that, my performance was really good, I did not gain too much attention but I also did not show inability."
Li Xiao Bai was quite satisfied with himself, after waiting for a while, the time limit was up.
He became stunned.
Most scholars failed to create a poem.

Those scholars that did not create a poem left in a carefree manner, while those scholars who made inferior poems showed shameful expressions.
Li Xiao Bai was calm on the outside but internally flummoxed: "How can you guys act so graciously?"
Even though he advanced, he had gained too much attention again. Earlier, he was quite satisfied with the situation, but to think these scholars would be so useless.
"Hmph, I had overestimated them." Li Xiao Bai thought.
There was nothing to say, he successfully advanced to the ninth round.
After patiently waiting for a while, the people gathered. This time, there was less than ten of them.
Many of them were famous scholars, they knew each other and greeted politely, they were calm and elegant on the outside, but were all feeling nervous internally.
At this point, the pressure of these competitors intensified again.
"I need to be stable, I cannot create a commotion again!" Li Xiao Bai clenched his fists, he kept reminding himself.
But this time, his opponents all performed well, more than half of the Gu Masters created famed poems.
Li Xiao Bai was the last one left.
Li Xiao Bai had a nervous expression but he was calm internally, he recited the poem that he had already prepared in advance.
With some flickering light, his cultivation level rose to rank four, he gained a new Gu worm.
This time, he planned meticulously, the poem he created was just borderline in the middle, he managed to advance successfully but he was at the bottom of the batch.
Right when Li Xiao Bai was feeling happy.
Cough!
Someone coughed out a mouthful of blood.
Ugh.
Someone fainted on the ground.
The strong man shook as he sat down with difficulty. The woman coughed for a long time with a pale expression.
Only Li Xiao Bai was left standing on the spot, unaffected.
At once, everyone's gazes were on him again.
"This young man is very strong! Currently speaking, he has already created three famed poems."
"He did not get injured at all, it seems that he had not gone all out when he made his poem earlier."
"Impressive! After this competition, I need to befriend him!"
Li Xiao Bai: "…"

It was 11 P.M. at night.

After the meal, Heavenly Queen Zhang Yuanqi held her chest with one hand as she leaned against the headboard to send email on her phone. Maybe she was working, as her face looked serious and sullen. She did not have any intention of speaking to Zhang Ye.

She would kill the donkey the moment it left the millstone!

You’ve forgotten about this bro after you are full?

Zhang Ye also knew that a distinguished person like her was busy, so he did not disturb her. He also wasn't emboldened enough to disturb her. Zhang Yuanqi was standing at the pinnacle of their country's entertainment industry, while Zhang Ye himself was just a small figure, who was a fledgling. He was not even considered a celebrity. He would, at most, be considered a public figure. The gap between them was heaven and earth. Zhang Ye knew this himself, so he was very respectful towards a senior.

Switching on the computer, he began doing his own thing. He first checked his Weibo and was suddenly dumbfounded. Why were there so many forwards for one of his Weibo messages? Upon checking, he realized what had happened. The "Flying Bird and Fish" message that originally only had about 2,000-3,000 forwards back then? It wasn't that much. But now, this poem's forwards on Weibo had suddenly become more than 8,000. It had tripled! After being surprised for a while, Zhang Ye treated it as nothing. Meng Dongguo had used his verified Weibo to openly question, "I do not know why such things can become so popular. Just because there's a lot of people looking and commenting on it, that makes it a good poem? A legend? It saved a life? A poem's worth is based on its literary value; it does not depend on other stories or situations to add to its worth. I cannot see any literary value in this poem. All I see is moaning and drool. This can also be considered a modern poem? This is also called literature? Also, the author's ‘A Generation’, I would not comment on the poem's words, but why do I find the topic so twisted? A slightly past 20-year-old child commenting on a generation? This should be a term used by us, right? You are not grown up yet, and still have a long road ahead. You do not have the ability to see through your generation, so don't write such a poem to cause ridicule to yourself!"

Some people did not like that.

"It can't be!? I think it's very good!"

However, there were even more that joined the ranks of the doubters.

A number of them were authors and poets of the Beijing Writer's Association. They were all verified accounts.

Romance author Zheng Anbang commented, "Even Vice President Meng has commented? Actually, I was not able to continue watching this, starting from a long time ago. This poem may be very popular now, but no matter how many times I see it, I can't figure out what is good about it!"

Children's literature author Little Red Mushroom commented, "Zhang Ye's poem isn't bad, but it's only average. It does not deserve all this attention!"

A famous poet in Beijing, whose pseudonym was Big Thunder, said, "What a mess! Complete bull****! What sort of poem is this? What are you trying to express with ‘The Song of the Stormy Petrel’? Do you think these are the old days? Even if you wanted to expression that period's rebellion and helplessness, how old are you? Do you know what the old society was like? Were you composing poems with your fantasy? How can there be any literary skill!? He is, at best, a temporary demagogue! Those who are following you, what's up with all of you? Do you even have any appreciation for art? I really wonder!"

Suddenly, five to six authors and poets began barraging Zhang Ye!

Zhang Ye, who was in front of his computer, could not help but curse, "What the f***! Are you monkeys backup that were invited? Where did you all pop up from? Did I provoke all of you!?"

Zhang Yuanqi did not know what was happening as she came behind Zhang Ye. As she held her shoulders, her face was expressionless as she looked without blinking at his computer screen, "Who are they scolding?"

"Scolding me." Zhang Ye said angrily.

She was the one who wrote fairy tales, right? Big Thunder? I have seen his poems. He is not anything in the country, but he is still quite famous in Beijing." "To think you dare to publish such a beaten-up poem?"

"Everyone, don't read this person's poem. The industry’s experts have given their evaluation. This is not called literature. There is no value to it!"

"It can't be? It's quite good!"

"Do you know, or do the experts know?"

"That's right; the Vice President of the Beijing Writer's Association has already said it's bad!"

"I see. I thought it was such a good poem. You wasted my feelings!"

"That's right; I even recited Zhang Ye's poem to my children. I never expected it to not have any cultural value. Isn't this harming others? Harming me is fine, but don't mislead my children!"

"Zhang! Get lost from of the field of poetry!"

"Get lost! There is no need for you!"

"To think I liked Zhang Ye's poems in the past. Hai, it’s so disappointing!"

A few of Zhang Ye's original fans were steered by Meng Dongguo and a few authors and poets, as they began to complain!

However, there were people who insisted on supporting Zhang Ye. However, soon, they drowned in those people's spit. They had no chance to talk!

Zhang Ye felt sourness in his heart. He was also very distressed. That was the popularity that he had worked hard to obtain. But just because of their few words, it was being scattered away. Even those who supported Zhang Ye's poems were no longer that firm in their beliefs. After all, with so many professional Teachers and famous authors and poets collectively denying Zhang Ye's worth, people would all have second thoughts as to whether his poem was really good.

Even his fans were scolding him. Zhang Ye's fists clenched tightly.

Zhang Yuanqi said indifferently, "This is what the circle is like. You have to get used to others. If not..."

"Then what's the ‘if not’?" Zhang Ye asked for advice.

Zhang Yuanqi said coldly, "...If not, make others get used to you."

Zhang Ye thought for a while and, after digesting Zhang Yuanqi's words, he was no longer angry. Seeing the cursing or disappointed fans, Zhang Ye posted a message on Weibo.

It was a response!

A response from one to all!

Zhang Yuanqi was by his side, reading. As she saw Zhang Ye type one word after another, her gaze changed for the first time. There was a brilliance in her eyes!

Zhang Ye had written this.

"See me, or not. There will I stay, no sorrow, nor joy."

"Miss me, or not. There will affection lay, no immersion, nor dispersion."

"Love me, or not. There will love remain, no more, nor less."

"Follow me, or not. In your hand is mine, no discarding, nor departure."

"Come to me, or give me your heart to dwell in."

"Love with serenity. Rejoice in silence."

This was an old poem. Why so? Because according to the poem's age, it was actually quite old in Zhang Ye's world. It was not very famous at all until the movie, "If You Are the One 2" was released. It then became famous. Even the drama, "Palace" had used it as lyrics for its ending song. Later on, someone said that this poem was composed by Tsangyang Gyatso. Actually it wasn't. There was even a copyright lawsuit. The original author of the poem was Tashi Lam, Dodo? The original name of the poem was "The Silence of Vadjra Guru Pema" and also "See Me or Not".

Some people might question whether a love poem like this would be suitable in this situation.

It was precisely that many people were not sure. This poem was not a love poem at all. It had nothing to do with love. This poem's inspiration came from his world's Guru Rinpoche's famous words, "I have never abandoned people who believed in me, or even those who did not believe in me. Although they will not see me, my children will forever be protected by my compassion." This poem expressed the Guru's neither clinging, nor abandoning love for his disciples. It had nothing to do with romantic love.

It was perfectly apt for Zhang Ye to use it as a response!

Maybe he was not as noble as the original authors, but it currently represented his feelings!

Regardless of people who like me staying or leaving me.

I will be right here, neither clinging, nor abandoning, neither sad, nor happy!

And even if they improve, they're not meant to be concealed,

And the once bright brown eyes that held determination and perseverance, 
Are now hooded caused by the people that threw abhorrence.

Just like for everybody, the sun's too hot for the fellow,
Darkening his skin from being white not long ago, 
Tainting his mind darker than what it used to, 
Spoiling his heart to show what is true. 

But as he goes on and neared his end, 
He wondered what he had become,
As his thoughts dance with the melody of his friend, 
He stays still, enjoying the guitar from being strum.

Life is a never ending race; some took their journey in the road, and some in the seas. 

But not all sails inside a yacht; some tries to keep floating, holding onto a shard of wood while also keeping a hold of their loved ones. And some, drowning while crying out for help to people in their yachts.

For the people who rides their journey under the hot, blazing sun and on the hard, rough road; it is also never easy as some rides in flashy cars while some, like our OP, takes his journey with his bare feet. 

Yet, it doesn't mean we all don't have scars from our past. No matter which way we choose to take our journey, we make choices that became a sole reminder of our mistakes... for a lifetime.

Life becomes a little bit messy as we grow older and to take a breath once in a while, here's my book — a collection of mine that lets you dive into what an average person thinks most of the time when life gets a little bit dark. 

And as this also works as my ventilator, different feelings are included but not limited to: frustrations, happiness, confusion and so on.

There was a knock on the door, followed by Han Xiaowu's voice. "Master, it's me."
Yu Jian hummed without lifting his head. Han Xiaowu gingerly opened the door and stepped inside, his head bowed respectfully as he asked. "Are you ready, master?"
Yu Jian observed the shining blade which reflected his face. The trace of adolescence on him had completely evaporated, just like a butterfly that emerged from its silk cocoon, his face matured, his contour sharpened and his whole being grew steadier but still, it couldn't hide the coldness and gloominess emanated from within his body.
The kind of cold apathy which was formed by his upbringing and the environment he grew up in.
For as long as he could remember, he had never truly felt any happiness in his life. Not once. Not when he was still confined here, in this large caged named Imperial Palace.
"Tell the others to get ready," he commanded. "After the war ends, this prince will directly go to Yuanxi Town."
Han Xiaowu was surprised. "Master, are you really going there? Why?"
"No reason." He just wanted to return to the place where all the strangeness began. Who knows, maybe he could find more clues there? "This prince gives you full command to prepare everything we need to settle there."
Han Xiaowu composed himself and saluted. "Yes, Master!"
The bedroom was tidy, so tidy and clean that there wasn't any speck of dust there. Yu Jian's miniscule baggage had been moved to the carriage which would directly be sent to Yuanxi Town. All, except this little box that had garnered dust and forgotten, stuffed under the innermost part of his bed from God-knows-when.
If he hadn't been preparing to move, maybe he would have never recovered this box.
He swiped the dust away and opened the box, and instantly his childhood memory surged forth. Since he was small, he was an easily satisfied child. Maybe because of all the mistreatment and abuses, if one was nice to him, he couldn't help but to remember that person all his life.
Shortly, he used to be a sentimental child.
The box was filled with all kinds of miscellaneous junks. A piece of candy wrapper, a box of drank milk, a shattered plate, a stalk of dried flower, an ugly dragon toy…
There wasn't much of it inside, and for quite a while, he stood there, silently reminiscing about the past. His fingers stopped at the bottom of the box.
There were two scrolls of papers neatly stacked, covered by two books about ancient beings and myths which his nanny used to tell him when he was a little child.
His eyes narrowed. There wasn't any recollection of these papers. But he knew himself, the deeper he hide something, the more important it was. The tip of his fingers trembled momentarily and his breath stopped.
Without any delay, he pulled out the two tightly tied paper and grabbed one of it. From the yellowed surface and the dotted ink, he could roughly guessed that the paper had been there for five or ten years.
Five or ten years ago…what was he doing back then? Presumably, he was twenty two, and at that time, his father started to favor him. Now that he thought about it, it was the start of his building reputation and greatness for being the Master of Art of Buddha.
He remembered that during that time, for a few years, he was recuperating because his soul was greatly injured after he returned from Hell.
Wait...
Why was he in Hell? He had had this strange thought not long ago, but because of all the confusion about his memory, he had pushed it to the back of his mind.
He tried hard to recall but got a familiar feeling instead.
He couldn't remember the reason why he ended up in the King of Hell's hand.
His breaths quickened and his eyes zeroed on the scroll of papers. Would he find something here? In the piece of paper that had been dusted away, buried deeply in the corner of his memory.
He didn't even realize that his hands started to tremble.
Slowly, he unscrolled the first one…
Even though it was slightly messy and ugly, he recognized his own drawing in first glance. It was the drawing of a majestic dragon, the size was marvelous against the puny humans beneath. Atop of a towering mountain, the dragon coiled its tail nonchalantly as it observed the humans below. He even had the imagination that those pair of half lidded eyes were squinting in disdain and contempt.
Yu Jian stopped breathing.
Ba-thump. Ba-thump. His heart was beating so fast that he could hear it clearly in his ears.  
His fingers traced the dragon's body gently and then, his gaze was drawn to the inconspicuous character in the bottommost corner of the painting.
It was a one word character that was written meticulously, showing its painter's utmost attention on writing it as a sign of his masterpiece.
Qing.
It was a Qing.
Yu Jian's feet faltered and the back of his knees bumped against the chair.
He hurriedly took his armor off and rolled up his sleeve. There was the crisscross scar that still looked hideous and slightly red. But now, he could clearly carve the character written on them.
The puzzle was answered.
He carved a 'Qing'.
A tumultuous pain exploded in his brain and there were countless images flashed through his mind, the speed was impossible to be capture. It disappeared as soon as it emerged, like a pile of sand slipping through his fingers, the harder he tried to grab it, the more he was unable to do it.
Yu Jian's face paled abruptly.
With trembling fingers, he reached for the second scroll and untied it.
The first thing that entered his sight was a bunch of extrusive, sharp and fluent characters of his writing. It composed of very short four lines poem;
Over the eastern hills rises
The smiling face of the moon;
In my mind forms
The smiling face of my beloved[1]
As the scroll unraveled, the painting on it burned into his eyes. He couldn't take his eyes off the figure inside the painting. A girl standing nonchalantly, as wind blew her slightly disheveled hair. The garments on her body was loose and flimsily tied. Even though it was a black and white painting, but Yu Jian could somehow imagine the brightness of those pair of eyes as she stared back at him.
There were amusement, apathy, and a hint of disdain.
Her lips slightly curl in an indiscernible smile. One couldn't have guessed what she was smiling about. Her whole body exuded the sense of aloofness and mysteriousness, yet there was still a touch of innocence and cruelness.
Yu Jian's mind blanked as he saw the girl's face.
The image of the extremely similar girl popped out in his mind.
It was the same girl he met in Yuanxi Town weeks ago.
[1] One of Tsangyang Gyatso's poems collection: Songs of the 6th Dalai Lama. He is very interesting person haha he should be a monk, a Bodhisattva studying dharmas and sutras in monastery, yet he abandon his enlightenment because he wanted to live enjoying women and wine. In the end, he died young at the age of 24.
His poems were famous for his journey in love. Maybe I will quote a few more because I found an uncanny similarity between him and Yu Jian (oops is it a spoiler haha).

I'm accepted. I'm surprised. Even though I'm the top of my grade in my high school, it's a fact that public schools in general are lacking compared to those high schools for the rich. However, I know I deserve it. Even though I'm from a public high school, I've given extra effort to study and read outside the curriculum to be number 1.
I actually don't care about being number 1 in my school; I just followed Tayaw's advice. Before he went off to college, he said 'Don't just study hard for the sake of studying. Make sure that every lesson on the textbook; know how to apply them in real life.' It was hard at first. If it was how I studied before, I would just memorize things and I'm good. But when I started studying and researching on each subjects, my reading basically multiplied. 
Thankfully, knowing how to apply them to practice made the stuff I read go down easier. The amount of information I also process while studying made me realize I've become smarter. I can connect information easier, and my memory improved as well. While I reduced the time of reading, my time applying the knowledge increased.
"That's the admission letter? Congratulations man." Tayaw said when he saw the letter on my hand. He came for a visit again after coming from Italy as an acclaimed movie director. I can't believe a world famous director is still sleeping in a bunk bed in my bedroom. 
"Yeah. It sounded braggy." I said. "Well. They have the right to. That's why I chose it for you." Tayaw said. 
Instead of applying to the Preparatory High School near dad's auto shop like the family talked about, Tayaw instead had me apply at Rinowra in Ouigab. It's not a boarding school, but still one of the best private high schools in the whole Northern Teungeb.
"mm. That's good. It actually won't make a difference what you study. Just study the way you're doing, and you'll be fine." Tayaw said. He's assuring me, but I'm honestly anxious. 
"Hah. Easy for you to say. I heard they're full of snobby kids from rich families." I said. "Hey. That school is different. They only care about grades. Sure, there may be a lot of rich kids there, but if they worked hard in studying, I bet they did not have the time to learn to be snobby." Tayaw said. 
"I'm jealous of you man. You didn't study hard in high school and now, according to dad, you can now retire if you want to and go for vacation for the rest of your life. I wish I'm an author too." I said. Sincerely, but I hid it in a jesting tone. I know though that I'm not an artist like him. Writing songs, writing books, and making a movie, and I don't even know how to do them even if I'm given millions of BGCs to start. I can say for sure because since Tayaw became a famous author, I've tried writing songs and stories in my spare time. 
"Hey. Play to your strengths. You're book smart and you can apply what you learn in real life. Just look at your garden in the backyard. I would not believe you grew that from just the knowledge you read from books. Look at your old game boy, you fixed it yourself after looking it up on the internet. Not everyone can do that." Tayaw said, which consoled me.
"Strength. Is that why mom and dad don't care if Agew don't get high grades? Making good vases is his strength?" I asked. 
"Exactly. And painting stuff too. He's good with his hands.  Now. Do you like learning things?" Tayaw asked. "Yes. It was fun measuring the area of our lot, how much of it is occupied by the house, how much is spare for other stuff. You know that whe-" "Alright. The point is you're having fun doing it. As long as you're having fun doing something productive, it's good." Tayaw said and went back to fiddling with his laptop. 
Why is he always busy? He's already rich and he just finished a movie. "What are you doing?" I asked out of curiosity. "Oh. I've wrote a lot of songs, but I can't possibly perform them all. I'm writing them down to sell. " Tayaw replied. 'Possibly'? "Just how many songs have you written?" I asked. "I don't know. Thousands? I'm sorting out the best ones." He explained as if it's no big deal.
"thousands… Then that's hundreds of albums, huh?" I read on the internet that an album at least have 7 or 8 songs as long as they're 31 minutes or more combined. "No. It's not that simple. Most of them are not good enough." He said. "So aside from writing books you wrote the lyrics too? How did you write lyrics for thousands of songs?" I asked, overwhelmed by the amount of work it will take. "What? Ah. I've misspoke. The songs I'm talking about are just the music. I've not written lyrics for them yet." He said. 
Still, that's a lot of work. "I see. Is that American band the only people you've sold songs to?" "Sold-.. Yes. They're the only ones for now. Hey. How's your English by the way?" Tayaw asked me suddenly. "It's going okay, I guess. I'm listening to recorded radio shows. I'm making some simple poems to practice too." I said. Whenever I do gardening or walk to and from school, I've recently gotten into radio shows. Aside from that, I also listen to Tayaw's English songs. 
"Poems? What type of poems?" Tayaw asked, showing interest, which he usually doesn't. Now I wish I had not told him about the poems. "They're just for practice. They're not anything special." I said. "Why?" "Well, because it's not formal English. I'm just writing casual stuff to remember new words I learned." I said.
"That's good. That's good. Do you write Teungebian poems too?" He asked, thankfully not insisting. "Yeah. I use them to memorize stuff so they don't really form … coherent stories." I explained. It's fun doing them. Since elementary school, long before I studied using Tayaw's 'apply into practice' style, I always wrote poems to memorize stuff easier instead of acronyms that I always forget. "That's good. Let's say you don't have to use formal writing, and you form coherent stories, can you still write poems?" He asked. Can't he just ask if I can write actual poems?
"Yeah. I think so. I don't know if they're good though. Why?" I asked. "Well, can you let me take a look at your poems?" He brought it up again. I know he will insist or bribe. But I feel guilty whenever he bribes using stuff that are much more valuable than the simple things he wants from me. I also know he doesn't like embarrassing people, so I guess I just have to show him. "Alright." 
A minute later, *flip* *flip* *flip* "hmm… mmm.. mmhhhmm.. hmm? Hmm." basing on his expression, at least he doesn't seem to hate it. "You wanna move in my house at Ouigab?" He suddenly asked. "On August?" I asked. "On August. My bed room is large enough for two beds." He explained. So, he has a house too in Ouigab? He can afford it but he never told mom and dad he bought one. 
"Yeah? Why can't just get a spare room then?" I asked. It's a valid question. If he bought a house, then he definitely bought a large one just like the one he bought in New York. "Well. You know the band I played with in my YouTube Channel? They live with me. We make music." He explained. It makes sense now. At least I know now that he's at least not living alone. He's even living 1,2,3 …  6 people! He's living with more people than he did when he was living here. He's not lonely. 
"Alright! I'll go." I'm excited. It's only two months and I can't wait. 
"You're 16 now. Had your driver's license yet?" He asked. "YEAHP. But.. Dad doesn't allow me to drive by myself when I drive here to and from his workshop in Jebung … He gets yell-y too, but I get why." I said. "Hmm? That's a long drive. SO you're driving to his workshop now huh." He said in surprise. It is understandable. 65 kilometers, more than an hour drive on zig zags is tough. "At first, I would always feel spent. But now, I don't feel as tired." I assured, when I saw the worried look on his face. 
"Alright. Be careful. If you can drive safely without even leaving a scratch on dad's van, I may even buy you a car when you get to Ouigab." He said. I'm gob smacked. I don't even know what to say.

With the victory of Russia's Revolution, Mayakovsky worked on interpreting the facts of the new reality. His works, such as "Ode to the Revolution" and "Left March" (both 1918), brought innovations to poetry. In "Left March", Mayakovsky calls for a struggle against the enemies of the Russian Revolution. The poem "150,000,000" discusses the leading played by the masses in the revolution. In the poem "Vladimir Ilyich Lenin" (1924), Mayakovsky looks at the life and work at the leader of Russia's revolution and depicts them against a broad historical background. In the poem "It's Good", Mayakovsky writes about socialist society being the "springtime of humanity". Mayakovsky was instrumental in producing a new type of poetry in which politics played a major part.[11]

In the 1930s Socialist realism became the predominant trend in Russia. Its leading figure was Maxim Gorky, who laid the foundations of this style with his works The Mother and his play The Enemies (both 1906). His autobiographical trilogy describes his journey from the poor of society to the development of his political consciousness. His novel The Artamanov Business (1925) and his play Egor Bulyshov (1932) depict the decay and inevitable downfall of Russia's ruling classes. Gorky defined socialist realism as the "realism of people who are rebuilding the world," and points out that it looks at the past "from the heights of the future's goals". Gorky considered the main task of writers to help in the development of the new man in socialist society. Gorky's version of a heroic revolutionary is Pavel Vlasov from the novel The Mother, who displays selflessness and compassion for the working poor, as well as discipline and dedication. Gorky's works were significant for the development of literature in Russia and became influential in many parts of the world.[12]

Nikolay Ostrovsky's novel How the Steel Was Tempered has been among the most successful works of Russian literature, with tens of millions of copies printed in many languages around the world. In China, various versions of the book have sold more than 10 million copies.[13] In Russia, more than 35 million copies of the book are in circulation.[14] The book is a fictionalized autobiography of Ostrovsky's life, who had a difficult working-class childhood and became a Komsomol member in July 1919 and went to the front as a volunteer. The novel's protagonist, Pavel Korchagin, represented the "young hero" of Russian literature: he is dedicated to his political causes, which help him to overcome his tragedies. The novel has served as an inspiration to youths around the world and played a mobilizing role in Russia's Great Patriotic War.[15]

Alexander Fadeyev achieved noteworthy success in Russia, with tens of millions of copies of his books in circulation in Russia and around the world.[14] Many of Fadeyev's works have been staged and filmed and translated into many languages in Russia and around the world. Fadeyev served as a secretary of the Soviet Writers' Union and was the general secretary of the union's administrative board from 1946 to 1954. He was awarded two Orders of Lenin and various medals. His novel The Routdeals with the partisan struggle in Russia's Far East during the Russian Revolution and Civil War. Fadeyev described the theme of this novel as one of a revolution significantly transforming the masses. The novel's protagonist Levinson is a Bolshevik revolutionary who has a high level of political consciousness. The novel The Young Guard, which received the State Prize of the USSR in 1946, focuses on an underground Komsomol group in Krasnodon, Ukraine and their struggle against the fascist occupation.[16]

The first years of the Soviet regime were marked by the proliferation of avant-garde literature groups. One of the most important was the Oberiu movement that included the most famous Russian absurdist Daniil Kharms, Konstantin Vaginov, Alexander Vvedensky and Nikolay Zabolotsky. Other famous authors experimenting with language were novelists Yuri Olesha and Andrei Platonov and short story writers Isaak Babel and Mikhail Zoshchenko. The OPOJAZ group of literary critics, also known as Russian formalism, was created in close connection with Russian Futurism. Two of its members also produced influential literary works, namely Viktor Shklovsky, whose numerous books (e.g., Zoo, or Letters Not About Love, 1923) defy genre in that they present a novel mix of narration, autobiography, and aesthetic as well as social commentary, and Yury Tynyanov, who used his knowledge of Russia's literary history to produce a set of historical novels mainly set in the Pushkin era (e.g., Young Pushkin: A Novel).

Writers like those of the Serapion Brothers group, who insisted on the right of an author to write independently of political ideology, were forced by authorities to reject their views and accept socialist realist principles. Some 1930s writers, such as Mikhail Bulgakov, author of The Master and Margarita, and Nobel Prize–winning Boris Pasternakwith his novel Doctor Zhivago continued the classical tradition of Russian literature with little or no hope of being published. Their major works would not be published until the Khrushchev Thaw, and Pasternak was forced to refuse his Nobel prize.

Meanwhile, émigré writers, such as poets Vladislav Khodasevich, Georgy Ivanov and Vyacheslav Ivanov; novelists such as Mark Aldanov, Gaito Gazdanovand Vladimir Nabokov; and short story Nobel Prize winning writer Ivan Bunin, continued to write in exile.

The Khrushchev Thaw brought some fresh wind to literature. Poetry became a mass cultural phenomenon: Bella Akhmadulina, Robert Rozhdestvensky, Andrei Voznesensky, and Yevgeny Yevtushenko, read their poems in stadiums and attracted huge crowds.

Some writers dared to oppose Soviet ideology, like short story writer Varlam Shalamov and Nobel Prize-winning novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, who wrote about life in the gulag camps, or Vasily Grossman, with his description of World War II events countering the Soviet official historiography. They were dubbed "dissidents" and could not publish their major works until the 1960s.

But the thaw did not last long. In the 1970s, some of the most prominent authors were not only banned from publishing but were also prosecuted for their anti-Soviet sentiments, or parasitism. Solzhenitsyn was expelled from the country. Others, such as Nobel Prize–winning poet Joseph Brodsky; novelists Vasily Aksyonov, Eduard Limonov, Sasha Sokolov and Vladimir Voinovich; and short story writer Sergei Dovlatov, had to emigrate to the West, while Oleg Grigoriev and Venedikt Yerofeyev "emigrated" to alcoholism. Their books were not published officially until perestroika, although fans continued to reprint them manually in a manner called "samizdat" (self-publishing).

This novella is quick, sweet romance. Kate was with her boyfriend for two years in a dead end relationship. A chance sighting at a job interview places Kate at her dream job and in the presence of her future. She meets Ernst who is seemingly living a double life. Fate draws them together for a HEA. The story was told from a third party point of view. It was very descriptive and the plot was clear and easy to follow. While you knew the plot and where it was going, at times the wording was very stilted, which could lead to some confusion when reading. This also made it difficult for me to connect with the characters and truly invest in the story.
