Pi was fond of reading Chinese books. At first, it was not very used to them. Today was my first time at this new school. This body may have attended this school before, but I was new here. I was new to this world.

DISCLAIMER: I am veing particular with regards to english translated online novels.

I would not claim to be an avid reader, heck I just started my reading career, again for lack of a better word, like a few years prior. And to be honest I never liked having to go through pages and pages of what only seems to be plain letters on a page.

But, I am not sure if I have said it before, but these online novels just drew me to them like a moth to the flame. There is just a certain kind of charm in reading the stories written by people on the internet. I do not know what the reason is nor what the reason is for, but I just could not help myself.

At first most of my reading time was spent on stories about protagonists living in their world, trying to survive and succeed in that dog-eat-dog world where they and other characters inhabit. That was at the beginning.

But as I continued to dive into the community of internet storytellers and storytelling, I guess it was inevitable, I encountered stories of a different sort. The sort which had, to me, a different trajectory with how it present itself, a new flavor in storytelling per se. And might I add it was a flavor that I could never get enough of, and that until today if you somehow offered me a story with that sort of premise, you might actually have my ears to listen. From the title itself I am pretty sure you already know what it is.

I do not know why it was, what it is about, finding ones' self in another world that I find truly compelling. It usually involves, as you know, the protagonist finding his or herself  in another world and having to navigate through that world and ultimately finding renewed purpose in life and by virtue of this renewed purpose, for the most part, his or her success. Not only as a character but also an individual. Whatever that success may be.

There many methods, storytelling-wise, to achieve this desired premise. Though for the most part it usually revolves around two big ones. Reincarnation and Transmigration.

As you know reincarnation is the phenomenon where you die and then you inhabit the body of another, and I mean to say another is in, it could you were human once then you become a fly. The idea itself is rooted in Hinduism and Buddhism, largely. Whose definition, in terms of online novels has been broadened to include if you were human in this world, then you die and become a fly in the next one.

Transmigration is the different sort where you do not have to undergo the process of experiencing the death of your current physical self, as is typical of reincarnation, to end up in the other world.

But I will have to put in a disclaimer here, that from what I surmise, it seems the terms could be used interchangeably. And why is that? Well, because of the nature of self in these stories. I am not going to go in deep into philosophical implications or what not but here is not the thing, remember what I said about reincarnation where you, a human die and then become a fly in your next life. Well transmigration, also, does not exempt you from ultimately having to inhabit a different body, or perhaps a transformed one, in the 'other world'. And that is not to talk about the soul, and memory, which is something I would like to talk about another time.

So what is so compelling about stories like these that drew me to it? Well I did say that I do not know, right? But perhaps I do, deep down I do, and I just did not acknowledge it. Others may do and may have had an acknowledgement, others may not.

I think that it is perhaps the reflection of a dream, a wish, a longing for perhaps a redo, a remake, a starting over, if one could put it that way. That perhaps somehow, one can truly achieve the happiness he or she desires. That in the world we live in today where the very definition of what success, purpose, and happiness should be and look like continues to become narrower and narrower, perhaps, we can have hope to strive for something more meaningful, something more worth our while. To redefine what is possible and what it means to find purpose, to be successful, and ultimately what it means to be happy.

A young boy was walking through the streets of Stockholm. His name is Alex Torkamani. He is 15 years old and will be 16 in the 16th of May.

He is 1,75m long with black hair and dark brown eyes. Alex have a smooth skin. His facial futures are very good, his friends are sometimes jealous of how smooth his skin is. 

Alex doesn't have much muscle in his body because he doesn't do trainings in his free time. Alex is more of a brain guy than a muscle guy. He thinks that if you have enough money girls will jump over you instantly. So instead of going to gym he studies. 

But that doesn't mean he is fat, no, no, he is average in the weight. Because he went to taekwondo when he was a kid, he became a natural athlete guy. 

Those naturally athlete guys don't have to train in something, they are born in the average skill of that sport. Alex is one of those guys.

Alex looks at his phone to see what time it is. 
Alex: Huh, so its 1pm I guess I will catch the train. *Sigh* fuck I don't have any stamina left to go and play with Vincent.

Alex and his best friend Vincent planned to go out today and play some video games in some internet Cafe which is located at the north of Stockholm. The place is calle Fire online. Fire online is one of the biggest internet Cafe in the whole Stockholm. They even have 2 other businesses in the downtown and in the southern Stockholm. 

Alex has to travel 30 to 40 minutes by train and on the wayon one of the stations Vincent will come on board the train. Then both of them will travel towards the Fire online and play games.

Everything went as planned, he went on board the train and waited until the train stopped at the station which Vincent will come on board.

Alex looks at his left, right and front trying to find Vincent amongst the crowd. Vincent has light brown hair with a type of green eyes. Vincent is a couple of cm taller than Alex but they both look like they weight the same. Vincent also doesn't have long hair like Alex. They both have under cut hair style. Vincent also have good facial futures but he also doesn't have muscles in his body just like Alex. Once Alex saw him Alex shouted his name and called for him.
Alex: VINCENT COME HERE!!!
Vincent hears someone shouthing his name and looks at the source of the sound to find his best friend Alex waiving at him to come and sit. He then goes toward where Alex is sitting and sits beside Alex. Then they do the same greeting which they do everyday.
Vincent: How are you doing Alex?
Alex: I am doing fine but these exams are killing me. Really which demon gives 4 exams in 1 week! I'm studying so hard, hopefully I can get an  A in the math exam and an B in the English.
Vincent: Well I think that I will do good in the English but I am certain that I will get at most an E or D in the math. I really don't understand how you are getting A in math.!

While they were talking about everyday stuff they heard the announcement that the are at Northern Stockholm which is Alex's and Vincent's destination. 

They went of the train and walked towards the exit of the train station. After a couple of minutes of walking they finally arrived at Fire Online. 

When Alex and Vincent went in the first thing they saw was a dark building but there was a little bit of light which came of from the led lamps all over the place. There was music being played but with a low volume to not disturb the players when they are playing. 

Alex and Vincent bought 3 hours and went off to play video games. The computers at Fire Online was very good. The were mostly Valegaming PC's but there is also NSI PC's and monitors.

They went to the PC's which is located at the very end of the building to not get disturbed by anyone when they were playing.

They sat on the gaming chair and started the PC. The monitor then turned on and showed the screen. On the screen a window popped up which then showed many games to chose from. They looked trough for a couple of minutes then found a game which they both will like. 

They did their plans, first they will play the MMORPG game Phoenix which is currently a trend across the world. Then after 2 hours of playing Phoniex they will change and play a match against each other in the Total war Warhammer 2. Then if they have time they will play EU4 (Europa Universalis 4).

Alex loves to play games but not FPS games, no he loves to play Strategy and Grand strategy games. He loves to RP that he is a king and that he has armies under him which will follow every order he gives. Alex thinks that he is a person which will lead others if the time comes.

Alex is an ambitious person, he will do things in order to get more powerful. Also he doesn't like when the MC in novels or light novels wants a peaceful life in the country side. For him the MC has to be someone important and it drives him crazy when the MC helps others without asking anything back. 

Because of this ambition Alex came to love strategy games. Especially the Total war franchise, EU4, HOI4 and other games which you can lead your troops.

Vincent and Alex both opened the game Phoenix and choose their characters. Alex choose to be a swordsman and Vincent choose to be an Archer. Both of them played Phoenix for 2 hours straight. Then they went and played the other games which they planed ahead of. 

Once they were finished with their games they started to pack up and go out of Fire Online. 

Once they were out both of them choose to stand and look at the scenery. They were on a bridge and the sun was setting. There was an orange color taking over the whole horizon.
Vincent: When do you have to be home?
Alex: Well my adopted family don't even care about me. The only reason I am getting money from them monthly is because of my grades.
Vincent: Oh right I forgot, sorry if I reminded you of something bad.

Alex looked down to see the deep see below him.  If someone would fall of from here he would definitely die. Then he looked back at Vincent.
Alex: No, its okay. (Then he looked back at the horizon) Sometimes I want to travel to another world and build my own Empire there. 
Vincent: hahaha ha. You really have to stop reading less novels Alex.
Alex: Yes I know but, what do you think if both of us can go to another world and have a system help us be influential and have an Empire of our own? If I build one then you can rest assured that  you will be a Duke, haha.
Vincent: Well I don't have real parents eighter, I am living with my adopted family as you. I don't like them so I would either go with you then stay here. Also it sounds fun to be an high ranking official in you EMPIRE!

Vincent looked at Alex and laughed. Then they both laughed together. Then a sound came from behind them. Vincent and Alex both looked back to see what had happened . Then they saw a man with a AK-47 shooting at everyone. Both Alex and Vincent became very terrified at the scene before them.

There was blood on cars which stopped. Alex and Vincent then saw a driver which was shot by the head.  Then they looked at each other and saw that both of them was shaking intensly.

After they came out of their shock for a little bit, they then looked at the man who was continuing to shot at people. Then the next thing that the man did terrified both of them.

The man with the gun was pointing his gun at them. When they heard the *bang* sound they both closed their eyes as, it was just reflexes which they unintentionally did. Then they fellt pain in a couple of parts of their bodies.

Alex then gathered all of his power to talk to his best friend fot the last time.
Alex: Hopefully our dream can become true and we both be reborn in another world. It was of course a joke even he didn't thought that something like that might happen.
Vincent:Yea, hopefully it can become true *spurt*  he finished his sentence then blood started to pour our of Vincent and Alex months and the injuried parts. After 1 or 2 minutes both Alex and Vincent died. 

Alex knew that he have died but he feels like he could open his eyes. When he opened his eyes he  looked at his hands which was not made of flesh but instead made of smoke or some kind of thing.

As a veteran author, Master PhD had braved through many storms and lived through them. Perhaps it was his attitude that kept him going. He was highly passionate when it came to writing -- nothing would shake his faith. His efficiency was unwavering.
Authors like Master PhD could usually be trusted when it came to producing remarkable stories. His novels all started with a few great opening chapters. Eventually, he would twist his stories into unacceptable endings that left readers greatly disappointed. Some even called him the "the crazed devil that burns its tail"...
