Zhang Zian was busy the whole day and now it was almost time for him to go to bed. 
Zhang Zian had been exhausted throughout the day, but now that he knew the elves' lives could be extended, his tiredness vanished completely. However, he hadn't told the news to Old Time Tea or the other elves yet. As Pi had said, it wasn't the right time. If he hastily told the news to everyone, they would be too expectful. The reality might be too disappointing. For that reason, they might as well not know about it in the first place. 
Even if the lifetime of the elves really could be extended infinitely, the elves had to go through an extremely difficult process to do so. Judging from Pi's stern expression as it read the untitled book, Zhang Zian figured that this may be his biggest challenge and trial since he downloaded the Pet Hunter game.
Although he couldn't understand the untitled book, whether it was the Hyperwebster Dictionary, The Book of Sand, or a fantasy book from another civilization in the universe, he was still very grateful for it. Without it, he wouldn't have found out about such reassuring and hopeful news.
The elves had fallen asleep, one after the other. Before going to sleep, Richard had been very active that night, as if everything put him in a good mood. Zhang Zian had to hang it upside down to calm it down. 
When everyone was in bed, Pi was still sitting in front of the computer, typing away.
"Pi, did the noise bother you?" Zhang Zian came over and asked. He knew how annoying Richard and Snowy Lionet were.
Pi shook its head no.
"Well, we're all going to bed now. Please go to sleep as soon as you finish writing." Zhang Zian brought over a small desk lamp. The lamp light was turned away from the bedroom, so it wouldn't affect anyone's sleeping.
He didn't plan on telling Pi what he was doing later, because he wasn't sure whether he would be successful or not. He didn't want Pi to be disappointed after giving it so much hope. 
Pi grinned and nodded.
Zhang Zian glanced at the elves again. After confirming that each elfin was in its correct place, he turned off the ceiling light. 
With the light from the desk lamp and his own nightlight, he laid on his bed and stared at the ceiling, listening to Pi type. He thought about the elves' lives for a while, and then thought about the situation of Uncle Li's diner. He tried to allow all of his thoughts to occupy his mind and keep himself from falling asleep.
About an hour later he heard a click, and the fan noise from the laptop disappeared. Pi turned off the desk lamp and the room grew darker. It climbed into the basket hammock chair to go to sleep.
Zhang Zian kept his eyes open for a while, and almost fell asleep. He pinched his thighs to keep himself awake. 
He looked up and guessed that Pi had already fallen asleep. Then, he grabbed his cell phone by his pillow and opened the Qidian app.
That day, as he watched Pi write, he had secretly browsed the Internet on his cell phone, trying to find out what the amazing reading lists were.
After he finished researching, he knew that reading lists were an important supplement to the Official Recommendation Spots from the Qidian website. A reading list was created by an individual, who would list his or her favorite books and the reasons why they would recommended those books on their list. If other readers agreed with the owner's suggestions, they would start following the creator of the list. The reading list owners were similar to bloggers who reviewed digital products on video websites, and the digital products recommended by bloggers tended to receive more attention. Some reading list owners even had tens of thousands of followers. 
After careful searching, Zhang Zian discovered that the reading list owners were roughly divided into two categories. One type introduced and reviewed each book in great length, while the other kind of reading list owners introduced each book with only one sentence. The former type attracted much more followers than the latter. After all, through the detailed evaluations and introductions, the readers could tell that the reading list owners had put in a lot of work into every book. 
That day, he had mentally noted the reading list owners' IDs who wrote long book reviews and then went to the comment sections of their lists. He first ruled out the most popular reading list owners, because in their comment sections, numerous authors or authors who pretended to be readers were promoting their own books. Those reading list owners wouldn't be able to read all the books being recommended to them, even if they tried to read 24 hours a day.
As for the reading list owners that attracted fewer followers, their comment sections were basically empty. It wouldn't be helpful for Zhang Zian to advertise Pi's novel in those lists. 
After more research, he targeted a reading list owner who had the tenth most followers. The ID name of the reading list owner was Morning Gorilla Star, who was mentioned by the author of Diplomats of the Underworld. 
Morning Gorilla Star had written down his requirements about posting advertisements in his comment: Do not copy and paste your ads. I will promote urban novels that have no or only one female protagonist.
Zhang Zian felt relieved when he read these requirements. He was extremely popular with women, and many cute girls were desperately hoping to be his girlfriend. Pi had just hidden this fact while writing the novel based on the life in Zhang Zian's pet shop. Therefore, Pi's novel had managed to meet Morning Gorilla Star's requirements.
Advertising was like sending resumes to hiring managers. The key points of the novel must be written as concisely as possible. What was the highlight of Pi's novel? It certainly wasn't that the protagonist didn't have a girlfriend! 
He typed on his phone: Can I promote my own book? The title of the book is Pet King. The protagonist, who is the owner of a pet shop, downloads a game that can capture elves. Together with the elves, he witnesses the growth of the pet shop. There is no female protagonist in this book. 
He thought it over and added "Currently" in front of the sentence, "There is no female protagonist in this book." Then, he satisfyingly clicked the "Send" button.
After sending the message, Zhang Zian repeatedly refreshed the comment section and anxiously waited for a reply from the reading list owner, just like a job seeker who was constantly refreshing emails and nervously waiting for replies after sending out his resume. Zhang Zian had read the books recommended by Morning Gorilla Star, and all the books were well-written. Perhaps Morning Gorilla Star wouldn't think Pi's novel was good enough. However, Zhang Zian hoped that Morning Gorilla Star, who had read countless books, could at least tell him why Pi's novel failed to be recommended by him. In that case, Zhang Zian could help Pi revise the novel. Zhang Zian was acting like a job seeker who was close to starving to death and desperately needed a job, whatever the job was, to feed himself.
Since it was nearly one o'clock in the morning, the owner had probably gone to bed already. Watching his comment drowning in other comments from authors promoting their own books, Zhang Zian couldn't help but sigh in dismay.
Perhaps he sighed too loud, because Zhang Zian heard a squeaking sound come from the hammock chair. It sounded like Pi had turned over.
He locked his phone screen and waited a little longer. He didn't unlock his phone until there wasn't any more sounds coming from the chair.
What should he do?
He was very sleepy. Should he wait till the reading list owner woke up and try advertising again? 
No, he shouldn't wait. Tomorrow, Pi would receive its first Minor Recommendation Spot. If its novel failed to be ranked in the top three or top four spots, it might never have a chance to receive a recommendation again.
With that thought, he decided to advertise on another reading list. Advertising was just like begging, and as long as he could swallow his pride now, he would gradually become thick-skinned. 
This time, he lowered his expectations by moving his attention from the reading list owners with tens of thousands of followers to ones with hundreds of followers, hoping that some of them hadn't fallen asleep yet.
Zhang Zian noticed that there was one whose ID was Yang Chenkong. In his reading list, Yang Chenkong wrote reviews with thousands of words for each book and offered many thoughtful insights. However, Yang Chenkong only had a mere 3,000 followers. Would it really be useful to advertise in this list?

For some reason, the comment section of his reading list was blank and had no advertisements. Zhang Zian chuckled to himself. He could take advantage of this rare opportunity to advertise. 
There were some basic rules of advertising for all reading lists. Unlike like people who put advertisements in bathrooms,  book-promoting advertisements couldn't be randomly posted. Each reading list owner had different requirements for advertisements. For example, Morning Gorilla Star had explicitly stated that he would only recommend novels with no or one female protagonist. Yang Chenkong, however, had a wide range of book choices. Except for supernatural novels, Yang Chenkong basically read every genre. 
However, the most difficult thing was that the list owner didn't specify which book genres he would recommend, and Zhang Zian didn't know how to cater to his preferences. After thinking about it for a while, Zhang Zian rewrote the message that he had sent to Morning Gorilla Star. He deleted the sentence "Currently, there is no female protagonist in this book." He added, "Feel free to read the sample chapters, but don't blame me if you're poisoned (Translator's Note: Read and Poison sound the same in Chinese)," hoping that his self-deprecating tone would draw Yang Chenkong's attention. 
After clicking "Send", he was too tired to repeatedly refresh the comment section as he did before. It was almost half past one in the morning, and he would need to get up early that day.
Putting down his cell phone, Zhang Zian lay down flat on the bed. Soon, he was half-awake and half-asleep, and he would completely fall asleep at any moment. 
In the darkness, Pi had been watching him the whole time. It had barely moved, except to slightly change its posture after its legs started to get numb.
Pi had always known about Zhang Zian's actions. It could tell from Zhang Zian's exhaustion. 
Since Zhang Zian was so tired, it wouldn't matter if he did these things later, right?
Pi opened its mouth and silently imitated the shape of someone saying "thank you."
What?
Zhang Zian thought he heard something. It seemed like someone was talking to him. He barely could open his eyes. His drowsiness was as heavy as a mountain, pressing down on his eyelids.
He looked around and found nothing out of the ordinary. He unlocked his phone screen and saw that it was past two in the morning. 
Since he hadn't logged out from the Qidian app yet, he clicked open Yang Chenkong's comment section, the second reading list owner he advertised on that night, hoping to find Yang Chenkong's review on Pi's novel. However, he found no review, and saw that the advertisement he had posted was gone.
No wonder the comment section was so empty. As it turned out, Yang Chenkong deleted all of the advertisements in his comment section. Zhang Zian's efforts were again all in vain. 
He couldn't keep his eyes open anymore. He shoved his cell phone under his pillow and fell asleep.

After the school was over Gu Shen wanted to follow Tian Tian to check and find out little more about the reason he felt such a strong energy.
Unfortunately before he could do so he was called in the principal's office for discussion.
Knocking the office door Gu Shen entered when he received the permission and sat down on the chair after been allowed to do so by the principal.
Passing Gu Shen a list of some student's the principal spoke, "Whenever a new student transfers from another school to our school he has to take some extra classes so we can access his study level. Considering your marks from the last school I tried to ask everyone consider you as a  special case and most of them agreed as well. But there needs to be something done by you to get those lost credits.
All of the teacher's have collectively decided for you to help any of your fellow or junior student in studies and depending on the student's performance we will give you credit's.
The list that I just passed onto you has names of your fellow as well as your junior's who you can choose to help. Considering that you have just shifted over here and might have problems in adjusting  we will allow you to choose only one student instead of three student's which are generally mandatory."
Though Gu Shen has not thought that he will have to tutor someone but knowing the reputation of the school he was well aware that this was the most that they could do. There was no problem in him taking the extra subjects which every transfer student has to take after getting transferred into this school, which was the second ranked school in China, but if he did so it would reduce his time which he could possibly spent  on his responsibilities.
Smiling he thanked the principal for his efforts and started reading the names in the list. Just when he was reading the list he noticed a pretty familiar name in the list. It was Tian Tian. The girl who felt weird, the one who had a strong energy in her, his deskmate.
Pointing towards Tian Tian's name in the list Gu Shen handed the list to principal while saying, "I would like to tutor the student named Tian Tian. She is my fellow classmate and I think it will be easy to teach the subjects that I learn rather than teaching the subjects that I have already learned."
Taking the list from Gu Shen the principal started typing something in the computer while he praised Gu Shen on his choice saying, "You are indeed lucky to choose her. She had been a bright student but her grades had suddenly started reducing making her fall down to barely passable student. I personally feel she has alot of space for improvement."
Printing out something from the printer principal handed it to Gu Shen while saying, "This is the details of the student, including her parent's contact information. Along with that I have also attached the marks of the student's from the time she had started schooling. She was a consistent topper and had a lot of participation in other activities earlier, but no one knew what happened that she enclosed herself in a shell."

Ning TianTian was one of the few people who could see ghosts. She had the power to choose if the soul could go back to the body or will the soul keep wandering. The souls would have only 100 days to find their killer and make them confess with the help from Ning Tian Tian. 

Gu Shen was an extraordinary person who had the power to kill a vengeful soul.  But he also had the choice to kill any soul who tries to disturb the realm of living world. 

What will happen when, these two meet and decide to make the world a better place by fulfilling the incomplete wishes of those wandering souls. Would they be able to find love amidst of the chaotic world or would their own wishes remain unfulfilled.

(So first off what i'm writing is a thank you but there will be a chapter soon, additionally if you don't want to read the thank you, there's a list of improvements right below it. anyways here ya go)

All I can say is thank you for getting me a rating, for everyone that left a review I really appreciate it, i'm going to do a lot more chapters (hopefully hehe) and write better. apologies for not uploading any chapters in quite a while, i'm a bit pressed with school work so the current stability with updates is a little off, but please do expect that within a week ill hopefully be updating daily, and maybe even more! Additionally, my ink stone was a little bit messed up so I couldn't write anyways, but its all fixed now and i'm pretty sure everything is up and running. Anyways, here is a list of improvements I wanna do on the story!


LIST OF IMPROVEMENTS:

- Improve the all around writing quality

- Describe the landscapes and beasts better i.e: in the forest

- Explain his cultivation more (whoopsies)

- Make breakthroughs more detailed and describe the flow of heavens and earth

- GIVE PEOPLE NAMES (this is very important, so uh... yeah, fixing that fast, which is also why I made him blow all his money)

- Make money more reasonable (he got too rich too fast)

- Writing his progress at the end of a chapter (if you've read the manga "back from the immortal world", which is also a light novel here, it explains his progress at the end of the chapter, so imma do that too)

- Improve his character (so he wont be so clueless, in a kind of sorts)

- To not say 'as' too much (I usually go, "it was a hard battle, as he was a grand total of two realms below the beast." which is just annoying as you keep reading, so imma start using due to, since, caused by, etc.)

- Strengthen his bases (I need to make it so that he has the ultimate base, although it wont be too crazy, kind of like Qin nan, from peerless battle spirit, when he starts forming cores, or his martial soul

- Finally, To make better endings or keep it the same (all i've been doing is cliff hanging you guys, so i'm open to ending suggestions, or should I just keep it the same?)

Additionally, a quick question:
Do you want me to continue doing update chapters? or are they annoying?

Also, I just want to say that there ARE martial skills, or martial techniques (which do you prefer?) and that they are accessible to those who are in the qi cultivation realm, since its 'solidified' into a visual state.

Styler is now an official member of the Radiant Gang, the only thing left is to clean up his house and register as the owner of a house in the Radiant area.

     Styler still has the deer's body in his house. Styler asked Orby where he could find a man that is interested in deers. Orby said that he don't know any man but he know where to see the prices of creatures, the Price List Board located on the Townhall. The officers of the Townhall created this so people will have a fair trade and avoid fights for raw materials.

     Style went on the Townhall and started searching the price list. The board is big because there are many listed creatures, thankfully the place where to find the creatures are listed as well. But when he searched in the Blood Rivers he didn't see the word Blood Deer.

     He went on the office where the well-suited man is. The man was reading a document and when Styler entered he just glanced for a second then continued reading.

     "Take a seat." the man said with a plain voice. Styler took a seat on the front of the desk.

     "What can I help you?"

     "Ummm, mister.....?" Styler didn't know what to address the man.

     "Rhey"

     "Mister Rhey why is there no Blood Deer mentioned on the price list."

     The man stopped reading and looked at Styler. He now got serious face.

     "Are you selling it?"

     "Yes"
     
     The man opened a drawer and got a ring. He put the ring on the table.

     "Bring the body of the deer. It is a dimensional storage. Punch an object so it can enter the ring. We will pay you if it is really a Blood Deer." the man said with a serious voice.

     Style wore the ring and walked back home. He was still confused why are there no Blood Deer mentioned on the price list. He went home put the deer's body on the storage and walked back to the Townhall.

     "Follow me." Rhey immediately said when Styler entered the room. The man led Styler in a hall way with no lights but at the end of it was a door with red light coming out from below. Styler was afraid but he just followed Rhey. 

     "Don't worry, we just need the deer." Rhey said to comfort him.

     When the man opened the door there are persons inside operating some machines. The machines are grinding antlers same as the one that Style had in the storage. 

     "You have two choices for the trade. One is to get 5 high-class health potions or 5 high-class mana potions. Choose wisely"

     After thinking for a while he divided to trade for the health potions he didn't need mana because it can be replenished by sleeping or eating.

     After hearing Styler's decision Rhey ordered a man to get 5 high-class health potions. The man brought the potions and put it aside.

     "The ring please" Styler hesitated for a while but still gave the ring. Rhey put on the ring and the deer was out of the storage. The man checked deer and nodded at Rhey.

     "Thank you Mr.Styler here is your potions" the man gave him the potions and left.
     
     "Are this deer's special?" Style asked They in confusion. He just got 5 high-class potions that cost 50 silver coins each. High class potions has a great difference with low class potions.

     "The antlers of this dears can make high-class potions. We are lucky because this deer can be found here even though they are rare they can still produce 25 to 50 high-class potions depending on the size of the anlter. So if you ever find others like this feel free to have some trade with us." Rhey spoke with confidence.

     Rhey lead the way outside the room. When they are back in his office he gave the ring to Styler.

     "Consider this as a gift for a good trades to come. But take note that this can only store dead creatures."

     Styler happily accepted the ring and wore it. He said his goodbyes and left the Townhall. He also put the potions in his bag so it cannot get attentions from the crowd outside.

     Styler also finished signing up as the owner of a house in the Radiant area. His new house was bigger and better. There are cabinets where he could store the potions, bigger and more comfortable bed with wardrobe on the side of the room and then lastly is a bathroom with hot water. He took a bath and then went to bed.

A 15 year old boy died and entered his afterlife. He woke up in a medieval village. His after life is like a game where he need to be the strongest living creature on that world. He wants hunting alone on the wild so he can gain more fighting experience. After living there for a while he remembered his family in his previous life and hoped that they are all okay.

Michael saw the ingredients on the counter overlaid with grid lines, like early vector graphics from a video game. Then, each of them were labelled on the counter, and he could see a list of them on the left side of his field of vision. Below them was a list of the various components of the meal he had planned - the chicken and the sides were all listed separately. Finally, on the right side of his field of vision, above where the System prompt normally appeared, he saw a section labeled 'Steps'. It had below it:

1. Complete the 'Mise en Place'.
1a. Review all recipes.

There was a blinking cursor image next to 1a, so Michael pulled out the recipes he had readied and went over them once again. He had decided not to be too ambitious for his first attempt, so the only components were the roasted chicken with vegetables and the green salad. Considering the preferences of his family, he also decided to add some rice to his plan, and pulled the box of instant rice out of the cupboard. It handily had the instructions right on the side, so he reviewed that, too. While he wasn't planning on having any of the rice in order to avoid any complaints from the System, he felt that he should still make enough for 4, so he checked the measurements for that amount. Once he had completed this, he saw a checkmark appear beside 1a, and several steps appear below it

1b. Retrieve necessary equipment.
1c. Ready all ingredients.
1d. Pre-heat oven.
1e. Wash, Peel, and Chop all vegetables.
1f. Measure dry ingredients.
1g. Measure wet ingredients.

He noticed that item 1c already had a checkmark next to it, which made sense since he'd retrieved everything before the Cooking Assistant mode had even been enabled. He proceeded to get everything else he would need - the roasting pan, pot for the rice, measuring cups, cutting board, knife, bowl and salad spinner - and saw the system check 1b off as well. Enjoying the small satisfaction of seeing these items completed, he raced over to the oven and turned that on. Then, he made his way back to the counter and grabbed all of the vegetables before he turned to the sink and starting running the water.

At some point between the clanging of pots and opening and closing of cupboards, Anne had heard the commotion from upstairs and made her way down to the kitchen. "What are you doing, Bro?" she asked curiously.

"Making dinner," Michael replied as he ran the vegetables under the tap.

"I thought we were having pizza?"

"We were, but I offered to cook instead, and save them the trouble."

"...I admire the initiative, but did it have to be on pizza night?"

"..."

Anne returned to her book upstairs, and Michael brought the vegetables over to the cutting board to begin the chopping process. The recipe called for an assortment of root vegetables, and the seasoning for the chicken also needed a number of elements. He also had all of the elements he wanted to prepare for the salad - all in all, there were a lot of things to chop!

As he laid the first of them onto the board, the system reacted again, drawing a series of lines onto the object on the board. Michael quickly determined these to be 'guide-lines' for the dimensions called for in the recipe! "How handy!" he exclaimed, his excitement building even further. This cooking module was really showing its value! He took the knife in hand, holding it the way he'd been taught by his parents, and made his first cut.

...His first cut didn't exactly match the guideline provide, being angled and a little bit thicker than he'd originally planned. Refusing to get discouraged, he quickly moved on to the next cut.

He continued, making small improvements. By the time he'd completed the rest of the vegetables, he had a number of small piles in front of him. At one point, he'd had to retrieve a couple of plates to hold the finished products, and he'd tossed all of the peels and discarded portions into a large bowl to take out to the compost afterwards. He noticed that the oven had been at the correct temperature for a while, but he still wasn't ready to put the chicken in. "Man, keeping everything on track is harder than I thought," he grumbled. 

Still, when the checkmark next to 1e appeared, he regained a bit of his determination and proceeded to measure out the various dry ingredients he would need. Quickly checking the recipe one more time, he confirmed that all of the spices that used the same measuring size would be used at the same time, so he just poured them all into a single small bowl and continued to use the same measuring spoon. Soon, he had all of his dried ingredients out, either sitting in their measuring cups or a bowl. He proceeded to get the water and pour out the oil and vinegar he would need for the rest. 

Finally, he could move on to the next step, and just as expected, Step 2 appeared, with the instructions on preparing the chicken and vegetables that would go in with it. He set the roasting rack into the pan, the put the chicken on it, pulling out the packet of giblets from the inside. He then stuffed the cavity with the garlic and onions that he'd previously chopped and peeled, then rubbed the outside with the spice mix he'd measured out. Then, he laid out the rest of the vegetables that would be roasted into the pan and placed it in the oven. Looking at the time, the chicken would be ready around 7, and he'd have just enough time to pull it out and let it rest before his parents got home. With that done, he tidied up the counter from the elements he'd no longer need, and took the bowl of compost material out to the back yard.

While doing that, he noticed that under the Steps section there was now a new section:

Michael had a thought when he saw this. "System, can you set other timers if I ask you to?"

Excited at the prospect of the new toys to play with, and considering all of the possibilities, Michael quickly asked the system to set a timer for five minutes before the Chicken would be ready, so that he could prepare the rice. A new timer was quickly added to the list, with a time five minutes shorter as requested.

"This is great! I don't have to worry about losing track of time, anymore!" Michael exulted. He quickly went back inside, washed the bowl he'd used for the compost, grabbed his bag by the door and made his way down to the basement to take advantage of the focus bonus for an hour or so's worth of reading.

After 75 minutes, Michael had already made a sizable dent in the Fundamentals of Reading. As he set it down to go back upstairs and finish preparing dinner, he marveled at the new understanding he was beginning to develop of a skill he thought he'd already mastered. "I had no idea there was so much more to reading then just looking at the words on the page!"

The Fundamentals of Reading expounded the philosophy of a group of scholars from the seceded colonies that lay to the south of the province where Michael and his family resided. They believed that there several levels of reading, with the type that Michael was familiar with only being the first. The other levels included some skills that were conventionally frowned upon, but when used correctly would allow the user to be able to drastically improve their level of comprehension of not only a book's immediate goal and content, but also the underlying topics and how they related to a broader set of works. Michael found the prospect incredibly exciting and quickly understood why the System had recommended he finish this book before tackling other books on the foundational reading list - including the subject of his English assignment!

Michael continued to digest his new discoveries - both the functions of the System that he'd unlocked, and the new skills in Reading that he hoped to bring to bear - while he finished the preparations for dinner. As he was taking the roasting pan out of the oven, he got another notification from the system.

A pleased look entered Michael's eyes. He was beginning to figure out what the requirements were for unlocking various skills: it didn't seem to require someone to perfectly accomplish a task, but instead to understand or appreciate the complexity of the skill itself - at least to a certain degree. He'd unlocked organization when he had truly applied himself to the organizing of his room, and understood the positive effects that proper organization could have on a space. He hadn't finished reading the 'Fundamentals' yet, but he had become aware of how little he actually knew about the topic at this point. He also had a rough rubric on what he would need to learn in order to improve it. The prospect of unlocking additional skills, and also unraveling some of the mysteries of the System he had been 'gifted' with, excited him even further - he couldn't wait until dinner was finished and he could spend some more time trying to improve his reading skill or trying to unlock more skills. 

"Come to think of it, I still haven't checked my Status since yesterday morning. I even have a mission attached to it that I haven't yet completed! I can't forget to do that tonight," he resolved as he finished shaking up the ingredients for the salad. Once that was done, he mixed all of the greens and other raw vegetables for the salad together and tossed them with his new dressing, as well as plating the roasted vegetables and transferring the rice to a serving bowl. His sisters had already set the table at some point while he was downstairs, so all that was left was to get the chicken ready. He decided to leave that to his parents when they got home, as it wasn't a task he felt ready to tackle. Right on queue, the door to the garage opened up.

It's the turn of the 21st century in a world not unlike our own. 14 year-old Michael wakes up on the first day of high school with a nosebleed, a splitting headache, and the voice of someone claiming to be him from a number of years in the future in his head!

"We could have been, and we need to be, better... so, congratulations, I'm sorry, and good luck!"

Stuck with a somewhat overbearing voice in his head that seems hell-bent on ruining his life, Michael will have to survive such ordeals as... doing well in school, eating right, exercising and... learning demonic contract law? Stay tuned to find out!

"Hmph! With so many of us here, we won't let you guys enter the ruin first!" a middle-aged man of the True Darkness Realm yelled coldly.
However, right after he finished speaking, an invincible saber radiance shot toward the middle-aged man and killed him before he could even put up a fight. His blood painted the lake water red.
Hiss!
Everyone gasped and stared at the python-patterned robed young man with shock.
How is he so powerful?
The middle-aged man of Lv 1 True Darkness Realm was killed with a single strike. He could not even fight back.
"I've told you before. Anyone who disobeys me will be killed like him!" the young man held a black long saber in his hand and added arrogantly, "I'm Xuan Feng. Those who don't believe me can have a try."
Xuan Feng was looking down on everyone.
"What? Xuan Feng? Is he the Xuan Feng from Celestialspirit Sect's Holy Sky Peak?"
"Xuan Feng is a genius on the List of Top 1,000 Talents in East Continent. He's ranked at the 976th position!"

Everyone was stunned to hear the young man's name because they all knew how powerful and outstanding the geniuses on the List of Top 1,000 Talents are.
For a moment, everyone was intimidated by Xuan Feng's reputation!
Xuan Feng glanced over the crowd with disdain. Everyone here was a small fry which he could easily kill.
Su Mo and Hong Qingxuan felt surprised when they realized that Xuan Feng was a disciple of Holy Sky Peak, and even one of the geniuses on the List of Top 1,000 Talents.
Every genius on the List of Top 1,000 Talents was at the True Darkness Realm and possessed unchallengeable strength. Although this young man was ranked at the bottom, his cultivation was definitely at Lv 3 or 4 True Darkness Realm at the very least.
While Su Mo was deep in thought, the rock wall suddenly started rumbling, and soon turned into a dark vortex.
The vortex was only about 30 feet wide and it exuded a vast aura.
"Hurry up and get in!" Xuan Feng immediately turned around and yelled at the disciples of Holy Sky Peak.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
The disciples of Holy Sky Peak had already started moving before Xuan Feng finished his sentence. All of them charged into the vortex like rays of light.
Everyone else was mad, but no one dared to take a step because Xuan Feng would kill anyone who stepped forward.
Su Mo was angry as well, but he could not do anything about it, since Xuan Feng was too strong.
He could only hope that the entrance had not disappeared after Xuan Feng went in.
In half a breath, the 100 odd disciples of Holy Sky Peak all entered the vortex, after which Xuan Feng laughed and entered the vortex as well.
"Let's go!"
Once Xuan Feng was gone, everyone started rushing toward the vortex crazily.

Su Mo brought Hong Qingxuan with him and bolted toward the vortex as well.
He brought her along because she was much slower than him.
However, although Su Mo was fast, the rest were not slow either. Furthermore, since Su Mo was near the back, he could not get in within half a breath.
Once the entrance closed, he would have to wait for another hour.
"Devour!" Su Mo activated his Devouring Martial Soul and the devouring power instantly permeated his surroundings.
As soon as he unleashed his devouring power, those people below Lv 7 Enlightenment Realm were instantly slowed down. At this moment, even a brief pause would cost them the chance to enter the vortex.
"What's going on?"
"Who the hell is screwing around?"

Everyone was panicking and shouting.

"Brother Su Mo, this might be an expert's immortal's cave." Hong Qingxuan spoke softly.
"Well! Let's go!" The duo started flying deeper into the cave. Everyone else was rushing at their maximum speed as well.
After a dozen breaths or so, a massive space appeared before them. It was a small luxurious square that was paved with white jade that glittered with a faint white light.
The square was surrounded by greenish-purple rocks that were shining with the radiance of formations, which indicated that this place was covered in formations.
On a rock wall that was smooth as a mirror, there was a fiery red vortex which had a radius of about three meters. In addition, a holographic video was running above the rock wall. It seemed that many people were moving around in it.
There was a rough estimate of over 5,000 martial artists gathered on the square currently, and Xuan Feng was among them.
Almost all of them were crowding around the rock wall that was as smooth as a mirror and only a minority of them were at the center of the square.
There was a 10 meters tall stele erected at the center of the square. In front of the stele were gathered a small group of martial artists, who were reading something.
Su Mo and Hong Qingxuan immediately went to the stele and started observing it as well.
There were many ancient writings on the stele. The words were ancient and simple, but they exuded a mighty aura.
"Qingxuan, what's written on it?" Su Mo was completely incapable of reading these words, so he had to ask her for help.
Hong Qingxuan smiled when she heard him. She did not expect Su Mo, such a talented man, to not know these words!
"Brother Su Mo, I'll read it for you!"

After she finished reading the stele, Hong Qingxuan laughed and said, "Brother Su Mo, here is actually the immortal cave of a Craftsmanship Grandmaster who had left his Legacy of Craftsmanship."
"Understood!" Su Mo nodded. The Legacy of Craftsmanship?  He did not expect this, as he had thought that this place belonged to an ancient power.
Su Mo had never thought of becoming a craftsman, but the Legacy of an Upper Imperial Craftsmanship Grandmaster was a priceless treasure that could drive all the craftsmen in Firmament and Continent mad. Even though he was not a craftsman, he was still extremely interested in the Legacy.


Su Mo went from the pride of his clan to becoming the butt end of a joke in a matter of minutes. The former King of Mercenaries from Earth was reborn in the body of a boy in a foreign world and had used skills in his previous life to rise to the top among his peers, however, his previous training could only take him so far. The next step in this martial arts dominated world was to awaken one’s Martial Soul.
The awakening ceremony ends in disaster for Su Mo as he awoke a Martial Soul of the lowest level. Such a prodigy is now considered worse than useless as his Martial Soul is far too weak! In the past, Luo City international school had erected a building specifically for foreign teachers. It was known as the Music building and every class had an allocated time to attend lessons by them.
But due to the high costs of hiring those foreign teachers and how their lessons were not exactly very popular among the students, the program was eventually stopped and the building had been empty since. 
Lu Shu figured that the Daoyuan class was going to be held in this building.
Regardless of how the world would view this in the future, every student in Luo City international school was waiting in anticipation for their class representatives to announce the list for Daoyuan class.
Everyone had guessed that the officials must have identified the potential metahumans through the blood test and the list was about to be revealed.
This time, it was not about grades, appearances or family backgrounds. Anyone could be on this list.
This was like putting everyone at the same starting line again. No matter which official or which company's CEO your dad was, god was going to be fair when it came to this, right?

And since those people could not detect his body's abnormality, he might as well join them. 
The idea of going with the flow and gaining more experience while training on his own had a nice ring to it! 
While considering all these, he was also studying and his multitasking was going quite well. The people around him had started teasing each other, "You're definitely on the list!"
"Haha, no way, that would be you!"
Such hypocrites… Lu Shu shook his head.
Seeing Lu Shu studying, Ye Lingling commented sarcastically, "What's the point in studying now? Times have changed. No matter what you do, some people are bound to be failures."
Lu Shu rolled his eyes. He did not agree but thought, "In any time or generation, there would always be people working to build the foundation of the society right? You cannot possibly ask the metahumans to go build underground sewers. She must be really confident… And what is with that look of hers, does she really think she will awaken…."
At this moment, Shi Qingyan, holding onto some papers, walked in. Following beside him was a young man wearing a pair of sunglasses and he had quite a gentle smile.
The others might not be aware but Lu Shu recognized him. He was one of the two black coats who was hunting Liang Che down on that snowy night of New Years. 
But he was finally here and as he stood there quietly, Lu Shu could feel the immense strength and power this guy possessed. 
Shi Qingyan looked at the students, "The city had decided to set up a Daoyuan class in our school and these unique students will go through a series of lessons to cultivate their talents. And this person next to me will be the teacher in charge of the Daoyuan class."
The students looked at one another in awe. If that man was the Daoyuan class in charge, then did that mean that he was a metahuman?!
Shi Qingyan proceeded to take out the papers, " I will be reading out the list now. Those names that have been called please wait outside the staff room as your teacher in charge have something to speak to you about. From tomorrow onwards, you will be reporting to the Daoyuan class at 7 pm but for normal classes, you will still need to attend as per your current class."
The students' eyes all lit up and became alert to what was being said. This was such a critical moment for them!
"Liu Li," Rock Qing Yan read out the names one by one, waiting for the student to leave before reading out the next name. The first name read was sophomore class 3's class representative. 
"Li Qing Yu."
"Yuan Ling Qi."
Every time a name was called, that person would blush with excitement! How exciting!
Even when walking out of the classroom, they would walk upright and proud, as if they were afraid to embarrass the reputation of metahumans.
As the names were being read, the remaining students whose names were not called started to be worried.
Who would be next? Someone had already asked the classes next door and it seemed like every class had about 4-5 and the most were 6 while some classes had only 3. 
So how many did this class have?
So far three names had been called and these people were those others felt were most likely to awaken. They all had a common trait and that was their dominant disposition. Could it be in their genes?
Previously everyone had thought that God was fair but now they had realized, god was unfair after all. These people already had a strong presence and now it was still the same.
Seeing the trend, some of the students had started to lose hope.
But it was comforting that at least they were still part of the majority. It was not the case that only they were not chosen. Look at Lu Shu, his grades were so good but he was also not chosen.
The thought of this was quite comforting and this was human's nature at its purest.

The class suddenly quietened down, as though it was the end of the world.
"Lu Shu?" Someone voiced out his doubts.
"Yes, Lu Shu," Shi Qingyan nodded, "Okay, I'm done. The rest of you can continue with your work."
Having finished reading the list, Shi Qingyan noticed Lu Shu who was still in his seat, "Lu Shu?"

"You guys… are too generous!"

A lot of cotradictory nagging that you can't wrap your head on what to follow. So, I designated everything as trash.
