Fritz was at the peak of his life, known as the youngest trillionaire, he lived a very competitive life. 

He had worked himself up from being a student in a small university into a CEO and founder of "Space11" a company focused on space exploration.

After many succesful test Fritz decided to fully trust their work and be one of the first people that will able to enter deep space or "Aether" as some scientist called it. 

With the us e of the Aether one can be able to travel for light years away in a single month of travelling in the deep space.

The plan was to go to a nearby system and examine the planets whilst observing the animals' behavior during the travel. But like all plans do, things didn't go as planned. Fritz, 10 crew members, A monkey and  A dog will have to survive in a unknown and dangerous land. A place where all life in the universe meet "God's Arena"

Peace in the world has been restored, but there are always new battles to be fought. As new trouble brews, it becomes difficult for Firelord Zuko to keep peace in his Kingdom which he fought so hard to achieve.  Playing dirty can only get you so far, but love might be the answer to it all.


Cat from the Book told its story yet it could not help but glance at Fina with unstoppable love. It sometimes moved its body around. Its fur was as white and soft as snow. If it was a normal cat, Zhang Zian was sure that thousands of cats would fall in love with it… well, maybe not, because its name sounded like an imaginative Elfin. 
After hearing its story, Zhang Zian felt sorry for its owner. What an experience to be loved by a lesbian cat! She had to pretend to be lesbian to increase the cat's friendliness… Oh no… Maybe she wasn't faking it. She could be bisexual. Or maybe she thought she liked girls and then her Mr. Right showed up and she realized she was wrong.
This Cat from the Book was 100% lesbian because it left its owner after finding out that she fell in love with a man. Although it was only a thought, Zhang Zian felt that he was getting a hint. 
Also, Zhang Zian realized something he never thought of – Elfins didn't belong to a certain owner. They had their own wishes and willpower. Reaching a certain friendliness didn't necessarily mean a secured relationship. The pet could choose to leave if it wanted. 
Cat from the Book was impatient, "Are you done questioning me? Get out of my way, stupid!"
"Nope, I am not done yet." Zhang Zian pointed at the area it was laying on and it contained lots of luxurious items, "Did you have those cats steal these expensive items?"
"Yup. So what?" Cat from the Book obviously didn't feel ashamed.
"Stealing is what bad kids do!" Galaxy interrupted. 
"Bad kids?" Cat from the Book raised its head and giggled, "I am not a kid!"
Zhang Zian started thinking about how to handle the stolen goods. At first he thought there was a person behind the crime so he was prepared to report that person. Now the story just didn't go along with his imagination. What should he do with this Elfin?
"Why did you steal those things?" he asked again. 
"Why?! There is no why! I like them! I had nothing to do!" It turned around to look at those normal cats laying on the ground. "I like it when other cats get jealous and fight for me. What is it now?"
Zhang Zian was shocked. Fight against each other for jealousy?
Now he understood. Cat from the Book was not as powerful as Fina, who could command all the cats. It used the love from other cats to steal for its benefit… However, this cat was smart to use human's love towards cats so the cats could steal anything, anywhere they wanted. 
Zhang Zian thought about it over and over. He knew that this elfin could not be reported to Captain Sheng. He had to lie about it, otherwise the whole secret of the Pet Hunter game could no longer be kept. 
He wanted to negotiate with the cat, "Well, those items are of no use to you. Why don't you return them to the original owner? I will let you go as long as you do that and pretend we have never met. The cops are coming pretty soon. If you stay, I don't know what they are going to do to you."
Cat from the Book stretched its neck and found that Fina was staring at the shiny jewelry. It immediately knew that Fina liked the jewelry so it said gently, "My Queen, do you know why I collect them?"
Fina looked at it, confused, "So you also like shiny things?"
"Shiny things?" Cat from the Book smiled blinking its eyes, "You are the shiniest thing to me!"
Oh no!
Zhang Zian couldn't help but laugh. He knew that it was a miss for Cat from the Book. Honestly, its words were as sweet as honey, but Fina didn't like girls. If Cat from the Book admitted to liking shiny things, it might have a word with Fina. 
"Screw you! Why are you laughing? Did you see the romance going on?" Cat from the Book stared at him angrily. It was still pretty even-keeled when it was mad. 
"What romance? I only see that Fina isn't interested in you," he said. "Stop your daydreaming."
Cat from the Book raised one paw to scare him and then said to Fina, "My Queen, if you like those things, I will give them all to you. I am willing to devote myself to you forever and ever."
"Excuse me, those are not your things. I have to return them to the original owners," Zhang Zian interrupted. 
"Why? These are presents for my beloved Queen," Cat from the Book didn't like his idea. 
Fina looked at the shiny jewelry again. It was moved. 
"My Queen, please take them!" Cat from the Book once again persuaded Fina. 
"No! This is ill-gotten wealth," Zhang Zian said seriously, "People love money but get it in a good way. I love money but I will never steal. You stole all these from other people… in other words, these are all used items. Fina, you don't like used stuff, do you?"
Fina paused and showed disgust towards the jewelry, "Are they all used?"
Zhang Zian relaxed. He hit the nail on the head. 
Fina was a neat-freak and didn't like used stuff. It could not share anything with anyone, including its food and water bowls. It was willing to accept the diamond ring from the store because the sales rep handled the ring with gloves on and didn't touch it. Otherwise, it wouldn't take it. 
Cat from the Book was astonished. It glanced at Zhang Zian angrily and then spoke softly, "My Queen…"
"Stop it!" Fina said proudly, "I don't like used stuff. Get them out of my way!"
Cat from the Book was scared. It kept begging, "My Queen, please! Please give me one more chance! I will…"
"Cut it out." Zhang Zian interrupted it and said, "Fina loves shiny things but not all of them. Things like this, ill-gotten wealth, is too dirty for Fina's honorable status."
Old Time Tea nodded. Zhang Zian only had had the b*tchy bird for a few days, but it had already learned well how to lick Fina's shoes.
Fina was happy, "That is right. I love shiny things, but not all of them."
Cat from the Book was even more confused. 
Zhang Zian continued, "All in all, Fina won't take this jewelry and you don't like them. Just leave!"
Cat from the Book thought for a second and said, "I am not going anywhere. I will follow My Queen wherever it goes."

I have a request to make, and a quest to issue.
For those who are unaware of what a quest is and usually entails, let's just call it a challenge.

Firstly, the request.
I have watched and read many things in my life so far, and while this story is composed entirely of juices and other substances from my singular brain cell, I feel the need to add in references from many different famous forms of media and entertainment. 
(No dirty thoughts here~)

I have very much enjoyed said forms of media, and there will be various references spaced out somewhat evenly all throughout my book, with some being obvious for comedic value, or somewhat more hidden for those with experienced eyes. Some might also be hidden in plain sight, you never know.

The main request is to not unnecessarily call me out for ripping stuff off/out of other works of media, or to start arguments, because I'm doing it intentionally and not out of bad will.

The quest that I shall issue is to keep track of all the references that you pick up, as well as how many times they appear from the same source.

E.g.

2x Anime C

At the end of each volume, I'll put an email into the author's thoughts and whoever that decided to participate, can send a message and their tally to that email. (It will be the same one every time)

There may be a reward, there may not be.
I'm pretty much just doing the reference adding for fun, and for those of culture..

A story taking place on Evernon, a continent of a planet from a dimensional plane absolutely different from ours, with different natural laws and workings of the Universe. The inhabitants of this plane have their existences classified by more than just their age. They have levels, and even 'Tiers', which essentially state how advanced of a life-form a creature and its innate potential is. 

This saga is centered around two young village boys, named William and Magnar. Despite their extremely humble backgrounds, they aspire and strive to become knights and to fight for their country, the Royal Kingdom of Nashya. They are unrelated by blood, but are bound by the strength of their brotherhood as childhood friends and 'partners in crime'. 

This, is the story of their adventures, experiences, trials and tribulations as they grow up, back-to-back against a world where strength is king, where might makes right, and those without power, fall quickly.

I woke up when the intercom announced 30 minutes till landing. 
I packed my things, and pretty soon, I got out of the plane. 
"Finally, I'm in Australia", I said to myself with excitement, "too bad I have to book a hotel there, but oh well." 
When I went outside the airport, I felt the fresh air. It was so refreshing, but I quickly realized that I have to book a hotel, and ride on a ship to Antarctica. 
I went to the nearest hotel near me, and I stayed there. 
I was on my laptop, searching the antarctic cruises. Then my mom wanted to facetime me. I answered the call. 
"Where are you?" my mom asked. 
"Do you promise not to tell anyone else, even Carol about where I am," I firmly told her. 
"I promise," she replied. 
"Ok, I'm in Australia" I told her. 
"Australia!" she reacted with a shock. 
Then I heard my mom cried. 
"What happened?" I asked her, worriedly. 
"Today, Evelyn and Carol forced a random man to marry them. And, they called me a dirty rag," she explained. 
"Oh no," I replied. "Don't worry, tomorrow i'm going to the ends of the world, and reverse the curse," I told her. 
"Be safe," she told me. 
"Bye" 
I concluded the call, and went to sleep.

Baili Jie Jue knew that he had tortured her tremendously. However, he could not deny that he enjoyed the process very much. Initially, he attempted to be gentle. But, he failed to suppress his ruthlessness and lust the moment he touched her body. 
He even had the urge to pull her neck and bite her throat, just to have a taste of her blood. He wondered if her blood was sweet too… 
No, I can't do that! 
Baili Jia Jue held his hands together, reminding himself to remain composed. She will not want to see an insane man who only knows how to kill. 
Baili Jia Jue took a deep breath as he toned down the demon underneath his red eyes. He reached out to stroke Helian Wei Wei's hair before he pecked her on her forehead. 
Followed by that, he put on a ghastly grin.
Even if I don't like her, I will keep her by my side. 
The leaves rustled.
The branches swayed along with the night wind.
The Green Dragon that was lying dormant under the lake seemed to have sensed something. It made an abrupt turn and agitated the entire lake. 
The man in white took a step backward as fresh blood dripped from the corner of his mouth. 
Panicked, the little one with a bottle gourd on his back gritted his teeth as he cried, "Master!" 
"I'm alright." The man in white wiped the corner of his mouth with his finger while his eyes turned dim. 
The little one grimaced, "What's wrong with the Green Dragon? It has been acting well before this. Maybe, it refuses to be tamed?" 
The man in white remained silent. A hint of indecipherable emotion was painted across his black and slim eyes. 
The Green Dragon continued to writhe under the water with its crimson yet misty eyes.
Master...
Master...
It seemed to have sensed its master's aura… 
"Master, is that you?"
The Green Dragon said within its consciousness. Yet, it was answered with dead silence. 
Alongside the quietness was complete loneliness.
How can he be the master?
If he's the master, he'll definitely receive my message through my consciousness. 
It decided to give up its hope.
It closed its eyes and returned to the bottom of the lake. 
When Helian Wei Wei woke up the next day, she felt as though her two legs no longer belonged to her. When she stepped on the floor, her legs felt weak. However, she felt way better than before and her body felt warm and comfortable.
Yuan Ming reminded her in the Fantasy Space, "Woman, hurry up and test your martial Qi. Check if you're finally able to generate your martial Qi."
Helian Wei Wei gently acknowledged him before she lifted one of her hands to feel the airflow in her stomach. She exerted some force and broke the cups on the table into bits. 
Back then, she was only capable of controlling the wind and water. She did not foresee that her martial Qi would be materialized one day just like the others. 
"Your man is definitely the best booster for magic practitioners!" Yuan Ming said with his demonic tone that carried a hint of excitement, "If things continue to progress with this pace, you only have to repeat this a few times before you can fully recuperate! Hehe. The Third Price is certainly not a normal human being!"
Helian Wei Wei threw a glimpse at him. "Don't say this in front of him even if this is really the case." The prince would not be pleased to be utilized as a 'tool'.
Being a bossy president, the first thing she had to do was to court him.
He was technically and officially her husband.
But, his face was too alluring and would definitely attract many other women.
Moreover, it was apparent that the prince had not been involved in a relationship before. 
He was more insensible than her.
To court a man, she needed an elaborated plan.
Helian Wei Wei recalled her conversation with the prince yesterday. He seemed to be the least interested in knowing whether she was a possessed woman.
From his reaction back then, he seemingly had had a clue about what was going on.
Helian Wei Wei smiled. That's right. I cannot hide anything from him if he's determined to find out about my background.
It seems like a better choice for me to court him.
Thinking of that, Helian Wei Wei ordered her maids, telling them to bring Little Seven over. 
"Do you know what's your Third Brother's favorite pastime?"
Helian Wei Wei asked as she opened a book to read.
Little Seven held the steamed bun, the bribery from his Third Aunt, and took a big bite out of it. He glanced through the book in his Third Aunt's hands and was shocked to see the title of the book.
What is this? 108 Ways to Court Your 'Wife'?
"Third Aunt, you should stop reading all these books with strange titles. They're not good for you," Little Seven said with a mischievous expression.
Helian Wei Wei tapped the table with her finger and replied, "You only have to answer my question."
"Hmm!" Little Seven raised his head as he mulled over the questions, "Third Brother's hobby is sleeping."
Helian Wei Wei curled her lips, "Other than that?"
"Killing!" Little Seven said excitedly, "Third Brother grins from ear to ear whenever he kills!"
Helian Wei Wei was rendered speechless. Do you not have a normal answer to my question?
"Forget it. I'll just follow what this book teaches." Helian Wei Wei kept the book in her sleeve and put on a handsome smile. "First of all, we need a bouquet of fresh flowers." 
She had made up her mind. 
Later that day in the public, Helian Wei Wei walked toward Baili Jia Jue with a bouquet of roses in her arms as she wore an enchanting curl on her lips. 
The prince, who was working, raised his head to threw a nonchalant glance at her. Then, he pulled her by her hand and wiped it clean with his handkerchief. He said in an indifferent tone, "Stop carrying around weird things like this. They are dirty." 
Helian Wei Wei did not know how to reply. 
Dirty? 
So, he thinks that the roses are dirty? 
Haha.
Indeed, the prince was not like any other human. 
But… she had no plan to give up so easily! 
The Third Prince was unexpectedly a difficult man. However, that triggered Helian Wei Wei's competitiveness. She was ready to strike again.
In fact, Nangong Lie was dumbfounded by the scene. He had seen a man who remained pure albeit living among the ladies. But, he had never met a woman who tried to court a man by sending him flowers. 
Furthermore, it was not normal flowers but roses...
Nangong Lie stared at the beautiful red flowers as he extended his hand, intending to touch the flowers.
But, he was scared and stunned by Baili Jia Jue's fierce gaze. 
His gaze was chilling cold. 
"Are you allowed to touch my things?" Baili Jia Jue approached him and grabbed the bouquet of roses in his arms. A hint of gentleness and joy flashed across his thin eyes. 
The accursed Nangong Lie could not move an inch. He could only yell as Baili Jia Jue walked away, "Look at how you pretended to be unmoved. You're actually very pleased with this." 
"So, what?" Baili Jia Jue toyed with the petals of vibrant colors as his eyes beamed evilly, "You can also ask Qing Zhan to gift you a bouquet of roses." 
Nangong Lie was stupefied by Baili Jia Jue's words. 
After a while, he asked again, "Ah Jue, why don't you tell her if you like her?" 
"I want to see what comes after this." Baili Jia Jue placed the roses by his nose and sniffed the fragrant flowers. His grin and pretty face were extremely captivating. 
Nangong Lie twitched the corner of his lips. What's wrong with this man?
He's so shameless! 


She, a 21st century mercenary queen, had crossed over into a tragically betrayed body of a waste. Waste? She will show them what it means to be a waste!
Betrayed? With the Ancient Manual in her hands, she will astonish all the despicable men and cheap women!
Wait! Didn’t everyone say that she was an evil woman which everyone feared? Why is his Third Highness, full of mystery and charisma, so interested in her?

(VERONICA'S POV)
RING RING RING! THUD! "Ugh...I am so done with school..." I said as I got out of bed, and into the bathroom. "Huh? What's this?" I asked as I saw a random paper placed on the counter. I picked it up, and started to read it. 

                           (THE LETTER)
"Hey Sweetie it's Mom. I just wanted to say that I already packed your lunch, and all the things that needed my signature. Also be a little bit careful today because last night Me, and your Dad saw the news, and it said that there was some kind of virus spreading so just wear a mask or something, and you'll be fine.

                     (AFTER READING)
"Virus? Such fake news these days ugh." I said as I took off my clothes, and started to shower.

                    (AFTER SHOWERING)
I dried myself up, changed clothes, got my bag, and went downstairs.

                         (DOWNSTAIRS)
I ate my breakfast, and then went to find my brother. Who would usually be in the living room reading some stupid books he bought. CREAK... "Huh?" Eric said as he closed the book he was reading. "I-is that..." I stuttered as I tried asking why he was reading a book  about dirty stuff, not the dirty thing like dirty walls...It was about some dirty s*xual stuff. "E-Eri-" "Get out Roni!" "Sorry!" I said as quickly as I could while I shut the door. "Well...He's growing up." "SH*T UP I CAN STILL HEAR YOU!" "Okay okay jeez! Just don't be late at school!" "Yeah yeah I don't care." "Ugh bye!" I picked up my bag, and went out the house. SHUT!

                           (AT SCHOOL)
*FOOTSTEPS* *FOOTSTEPS* THUD! " *Heavy breathing* Oh God that felt like an hour..." "You do know school is a 5 minute walk right?" "Huh?" I glanced at the person, and it was Michael. "Oh, hi Michael." "How're you?" "I'm good." "Have you heard about the new virus spreading?" "Yeah, my Mom told me but it's literally so stupid." "How come?" "Viruses are just plain, and stupid lol." "Not really...Millions of people die from other kinds of viruses." "Still it's pretty stupid." "Okay fine, whatever you say Ms.I'm so smart." "Hey! Don't call me that!" "So you're not smart?" "O-of course I a-" "Then why'd you say the thing you said a few seconds ago." "Ugh you really are stupid are you." "Oh, Roni you're really just cute, and weird at the same time." "W-wha-" "Anyways see you later!" He said as he winked, and said goodbye to me. 

                    (IN THE LAST CLASS)
As the Teacher kept teaching the class Sarah tugged on my sleeve. "What?" I whispered. "Look over at the window." "What? Why?" "Just look." "It's one of your stupid pranks isn't it?" "I'm not kidding just look." I looked at the window, and saw a limpy guy entering the school gate. "What the hell is that guy doing?" "I don't know but it doesn't feel good." "What doesn't feel good?" "The situation."

"Come on Sarah, it's not like he's a murderer or something." "Fine...I'll try..." Sarah said as she went back to focusing on the lesson, and soon the bell rang. RING RING RING! "Okay everyone do your homeworks, have a great day, and be safe." The Teacher said as she started to pack up. "Class dismissed!" "O my God finally." "Roni?" "Huh?" I glanced at who called me, and it was Michael. "Oh, it's you." "You two come with me." "What? Why?" "I have something to tell you guys." "And what would you want to tell us?" "Not until we go somewhere quiet." "Ugh okay fine." The three of us stood up, and left the classroom.

                (IN THE JANITOR'S CLOSET)
"So what the hell are you gonna say?" "When I went to the bathroom I heard some stuff in the principals office." "So what? It doesn't mean that he's making love with someone or some sh*t." "It wasn't like that." "Then what?" Sarah asked. "I opened the door, and I saw something disturbing." "What'd you see?" "There was a man inside, and he was..." "He was what?"

"He was eating Principal Jerold..." "What the f*ck?!" I asked in a loud voice. "Sh*t up Roni everyone might hear us!" "So what? Everyone should hear this!" "If they hear us they'll litteraly start freaking out." "How are we even supposed to believe you Michael?" Sarah asked. "Yeah, how are we supposed to know this isn't one of your stupid pranks." "I'm the telling the truth!" "Then show us." "W-what?" "Show us." "But." "Okay then fine, but I need you guys to be safe." "Of course we will."        " *Sigh*  This is such a bad decision." 
  
 (ON THE WAY TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE)
"I swear if this is a prank I will slap you Michael." "I told you it's not." We kept walking, and soon we were infront of principal Jerold's office. "Open it." "What? Why me?" "It's your idea so it's your responsibility to keep us safe. "Ugh fine." Michael grabbed the door handle, and slowly turned it. "Don't be loud." He whispered. "Yeah sure." Michael opened the door fully, and we were immediately attacked by a strong musty smell.

"What the hell?" "Should we go in?" "Yeah we should." "A-are you crazy?" "No, but that's exactly what I'm gonna be if I continue what I'm about to do." "Roni stop don—" CLINK! I accidentally bumped against the flower pot on the table next to the door, and then a guy suddenly rose up from the ground, and it was..."P-principal Jerold..?" Sarah asked in confusion. "*Growl* *Growl*" "What the hell?" "Should we run?" I asked, as I started backing up slowly. 

"*Growl* *Growl*" "I think we should." "Why does Principal Jerold have blood all over him?" Sarah asked in confusion. "You're literally so stupid Sarah." "*GROWL!!!*" Just then Principal Jerold jumped on Michael, and that made him startled. "AH!" "Oh my god!" "Help me Goddamnit!" Michael said, pointing to the umbrella placed in a umbrella holder. "Here!" I grabbed the umbrella, and swinged it at Principal Jerold's leg.

"URGGG!!!!" Principal Jerold fell to the ground, and Michael kicked him in the face. "Run!" Michael said as he kicked Principal Jerold again, which made him fall again. "Okay!" Sarah said, as she grabbed my hand, and started to pulling me away. "You know I can handle myself right Sarah?" "Oops okay sorry." Sarah let go of my hand, and we looked back to Michael, who was right behind us. We stopped infront of the bathroom signs to talk, when suddenly the emergency speaker turned on. 

"Hello Windswood High students! Everyone must gather outside since we will be evacuating! A man has broken into school grounds, and has attacked 9 staff members according to what we know right now! Please stay calm, and be safe." After that, the speaker turned off. "This is really weird..." "I don't know what this is but..." Michael slowly turned to us, and said..."It won't be pretty..."

-Chapter 1 Has Ended-

A new virus breaks out, and soon it reaches Veronica Lemion’s town. It soon reaches her school. And once an unknown man enters the school grounds...All hell broke loose.

I spent most of my shift at the animal shelter thinking about everything that was going on. Specifically, what to do about the "normal" people in my life. 
I hadn't ended up lying to Jon after all; I did end up hanging out with Faye on Friday. Lying around in our pajamas, eating Chinese takeout and watching TV…things felt like they did before everything went downhill. Before she started her thesis project.
My life was simpler. I helped kids both at work and at home. I was free to do whatever I wanted. I wasn't entangled with any people but Faye and she was so gullible it was easy to get away with murder. 
The lies weren't so complex. I had my cats, I had a friend, and that was all I needed. Look at me now.
I had changed since the thesis project. I was less of an ice queen, more prone to breaking down emotionally than I'd been in years. But I acknowledged Cindy's existence more too. 
Was I starting to heal? I had thought about her more in the past several months than I had in the past several years. 
I may have lost my sense of freedom but I gained Nick. Jon. Even Jace. Did I wish none of this had ever happened? I wasn't quite sure anymore. Some good had come of it.
"Lori, are you done in here?" Stacy's curly head popped in the doorway.
"Just about," I called back. "I'll grab the dirty blankets on my way out."
She giggled. "You just rhymed."
Did I? Shoot, I did. How lame. "It happens," I said with a shrug. "How are you liking volunteering at the women's shelter?"
Her entire face lit up. "Oh, I love it! The training was pretty intense but I just started volunteering for real and it's pretty fun. My favorite part is watching the kids so the mothers can have a break."
I smiled. "I love working with kids too. That's my favorite part of my job."
"Oh yeah, you're a social worker. I forgot. That must be cool."
"It is, when I'm not drowning in paperwork," I said before changing tacks. "What are you thinking about doing after school?"
"I'm not sure," she admitted, rubbing the back of her head. "I'm kind of between elementary education and microbiology as potential majors right now. Weird, huh?"
"I don't think so. It's good to have options. Hardly anyone goes in and sticks to the same major they started with anyway. My roommate switched hers three times." If only she'd stuck to film or English literature. My whole life would be different right now.
"That's good to know. Anyway, they need me to go walk Mugsy so I better go. See ya!" She scurried out the door toward the dog area. 
I had to stifle a laugh. Mugsy was a giant hyperactive pitbull. Nobody here liked walking him so they foisted him onto new victims regularly. Poor Stacy didn't know what she was in for.
I scratched a couple of cats who particularly liked me under the chin before taking the blankets to the laundry room. I had to hurry home and shower before meeting up with the Pickerings. I didn't want to go to the zoo smelling strongly of cat and disinfectant.
"How'd it go?" Faye asked from her perch on the couch when I walked in. "I know you were nervous about going back because of all the bending."
"It ached a little but not enough to stop me from getting things done," I said with satisfaction. 
I had really missed going to the shelter. I was starting to get my life back. Baby steps. I could handle volunteering…how long would it be before I could do parkour again? I needed to find something slightly more strenuous to test my limits before I gave that a try.
"Oh good. I know how much you hate not being able to do things," she started to pick up her book before dropping in as something occurred to her. "Before I forget! I wanted to invite Jonathan and Nick over for dinner tomorrow. I'll make rolls!"
"Nick's working all day," I lied. I had no clue what his schedule was this week but there was no way I could let her interrogate him at his point. "And Jon usually tries to reserve the weekend for time with his kids."
"Bring them!" she exclaimed. "I don't think I've met them yet. Have they ever been here before?"
"No they haven't," I said hiding my unease. I still didn't know how much Faye and Jon had interacted while I was in the hospital but I didn't want to be stuck between the different lies I'd told them.
"Since you'll probably be their mom at some point they need to meet your cats anyway. It's settled! Invite them."
"Faye!" I protested. 
I didn't even want to think about that right now. Did Faye really think my fake relationship was serious enough to warrant marriage? I tried to remember what I had told her about how things were progressing with Jon but my mind was blank.
"Invite them," Faye said sternly before returning to her book for real.

The second we got home Father took my arm, squeezing it so hard I wouldn't be surprised if I had bruises after, and dragged me to the dark room's hidden entrance. He opened it, using a lot of force because the door was very heavy; it was like this, so I couldn't get out from the inside. "Get in." My Father snarled. "Y-yes Father." I said. I don't want to get in, I thought. This room held the darkest memories I had. The starvation, the screaming, the tears. 
The pain of remembering it was worse than the pain itself at this point. But I had to do what I was told, or Father would lock me in there for longer. I stepped inside the dark room, it was always cold in here, always lifeless. The door slammed behind me right before I crumpled to the floor. I felt the hard pillows that covered the room from floor to ceiling. I hate this place, this room, this house, this world. I hated it all!
 I curled into a ball, tears that I had to hold in earlier spilling out of my eyes, like a waterfall of sadness and despair. With nothing left to think about, I thought about the reasons for my hate and why I hated them. I hated how your life depended on your skill rating, your social importance, and how much money you had in your pocket. That was why Father was like this.
 After Mother disappeared he gave in to the things he too used to despise. I wish the few enchanted animals in this world that were worshipped for their magic would help me, send me a sign, something that could help me in moments like this. On and on terrible things went through my head, what I wish I could do to the people that made those stupid things rule people's lives.
Money? Money led to greed...social importance? Social importance made people corrupt if they had too much or too little...then there was skill. Skill made those who did not seem to have it feel awful, and the people who seemed to have all the skill in the world got to cocky. I HATE THIS WORLD I thought, I Hate some many things about this world! I stayed in my tight little ball in the corner of the dark room, sobbing, screaming, thinking, eventually growing hungry.

After what felt like years of tormenting sadness and hunger I heard the door to the dark room open....were the two days already up? My head felt like it was going to explode but I stood up, waiting for the door to fully open, so I could get a fresh breath, a peek at sunlight. When the door finally opened Father was there, looking at me. " Hope this grounding taught you a lesson." he said, as though he just took away my library access and not just starved me for two days straight. "Yes Father" I croaked, not wanting to evoke his rage yet again. I looked at my arm, just as I had thought what felt like a lifetime ago Father had left bruises on my arm, dark purple against my paler than usual skin. "I will not glare at you again Father." My voice was ragged from lack of water but I could take it for a while. "Well? Get on now Castinova, you've served your punishment, go do whatever you do on Mondays without school." "Yes sir." I replied, my voice calm and collected while I wanted to kill him.
First I would go get something to drink; then something to eat. I limped over to the kitchen, there was always too much food there anyways. I opened then kitchen then took a large cup and filled it with water. I chugged it in about 2 seconds flat; gosh, water tasted so good after 2 days. I grabbed some bread and put it in the toaster, I was hungry but for toast I could wait a little; as soon as it popped up and buttered it was in my mouth. I probably lost a couple taste buds because of how hot the toast was, being freshly cooked, but it was worth burning a couple taste buds for food; especially after being in the dark room for so long.

After eating enough food for a kingdom I slipped into the library. It was like my little safe spot. The smell of the wooden tables and shelves always calms me down. The silence of the big room was nice, peaceful even; it was filled top to bottom with books, the best things in the world. Books couldn't lie to you, books where words; and lies in them were the product of the writers thoughts and imagination. Books don't cheat you, they aren't greedy or corrupt. Books are just books, friends when everyone else turns on you. Father couldn't take these away, they were the only things keeping me sane in this maddening world of suffering, lies, empty words, and broken promises, vows, hearts... I had read every book here 3 times, at least, I could recite some by memory now, because I had read them so many times now. I picked up a book and started reading. 
 After a few minutes of blissful peace there was a sudden crash somewhere in the library. My head practically snapped in two as I rushed over and found a little bundle of fur on a shelf, looking over a book that had fallen down. I cautiously picked up the bundle of fur and when I did it seemed to sprout legs. I looked at it again...it was a kitten! A small little black-furred kitten with heterochromia eyes, just like mine, blue and red. That's weird, I thought to myself. Something weirder thought; was the little silver 13 pointed star on its head; it was a bold white against the dark black of then rest of its fur. This kitten is obviously not normal. "What are you doing here little guy?" I said confused, how did a kitten get in here? Father hated cats, the kitten didn't have a collar…. "Hmm... Ok, I'll take care of you for a while ok?" I whispered to then cat, It purred in response…ok then, I thought, guess I'm defying my Father again… right after I got out of the dark room. 
But oddly, I was ok with the idea of keeping this kitten, even thought I knew Father might lash me or something for this blatant act of disrespect. I set the cat on then shelf and turned my attention to then book that had fallen. I didn't recognize this book. That was strange, there wasn't supposed to be new books until Friday. I'm sure I've read every book in this library, so why didn't I recognize this one, had I somehow never noticed it until now? It was so strange and...sad looking. 
I studied the book's exterior, it was rather bare of everything, only a hard, dark brown leather cover and an open latch that must have stopped others from reading it without a key. The book was also very dusty, but that didn't make sense. Then books in this library were never dusty, never!. No that wasn't possible, I've been reading in this library my entire life, there was no reason, ever, in my whole time reading here that even one book was dusty, all then book where regularly cleaned and dusted here! I pushed those thoughts out of my mind, this was exciting! A new, mysterious book! I looked at the book's cover again, then back at the kitten on the shelf. 'How strange', I thought, 'the weird but pretty kitten shows up and suddenly then even weirder book appears'. The little kitten meowed at me as if beckoning me to open the book. I looked at the cover again, then darkened and old leather, foreboding and ominous. Like it was forbidden, something I shouldn't touch or look at, but I wanted to know the contents of this book. I sat down and the kitten immediately jumped off the shelf and into my lap, the fabric of the dress I had been wearing then day I was locked in the dark room was torn and dirty but then kitten didn't seem to mind as it huddled into a little blob of black fur again. I reached out and opened the book.

Dannah Samuelle received an instruction to guard Ziggy closely. It was only today that she learned about the incident and the fact that Ziggy had returned to Hampshire, but no one seemed to have seen the young sire for days. Ziggy didn't even show up at Huzey's ward and she wondered what happened to him. Ellie, the Montreal's butler told her that Ziggy was at his apartment and hadn't left ever since, which was rather odd because Ziggy was not that kind of person.
What could have happened to him? Did he take Huzey's accident so bad that he decided to isolate himself?
Sam reached Ziggy's apartment and she frowned at the things that welcome her. Opening the lock with her own copy of keys—the once neat apartment was all a mess. Dirty dishes had filed up, books scattered everywhere and the stench of rotten potatoes and sausage lingered throughout the whole room making Sammuelle wanted to puke.
"Wew, this place is a one hell of a disaster" Samuelle whispered to herself as she pinched close her nose to escape the stinging smell. "Young Sire, are you here?"
No one answered and Sam had to tiptoe her way deeper into the room to avoid all the books and litter that strewn on the floor. She first went to the kitchen, which she instantly regretted because the stench she was trying to avoid was so strong in that part of the house.
"Where could the young sire be?" She asked herself, running a list in her mind of all the possible places where Ziggy must have went. With the kind of disaster his apartment had been, she was pretty sure the boy wasn't in there. Ziggy was a master of cleanliness and there's no way he could have made that mess. But who's the culprit behind all this?
Running her gaze throughout the whole house, Sam thought of cleaning before leaving but her mind was having hard time deciding where to start—every part of the house was a mess as if somebody came in and ransacked the place, leaving everything in chaos. She finally decided to start cleaning the kitchen which she thought was the dirtiest, but on her way to looking some cleaners and disinfectant, she heard thuds coming from Ziggy's library.
"Is someone in there?" She called. No one answered her but another sound of a chair being moved made Sam realized that she wasn't alone in the house. Pulling her guard up, she went to where the sound originated and slowly pushed the door, only to find her master digging on some books.
"Young sire, I had been calling you since I arrived" Samuelle confronted her boss and it only took the girl few seconds before she realized that Ziggy, just like his apartment was—was a total  mess. He had eye bags under his big grey eyes, he's unshowered, unshaven and he looked like a person who had a flu—hiding his chilling body under a robe and whose eyes were sullen red.
"Young sire what happened to you?" Samuelle gasped in incredulity. The youngest Montreal sire she once knew was a total opposite of the one she was seeing now.
Ignoring Sam's comment, Ziggy blurted out, "Sam do you know that stem cells can be used to revived another damaged cell in a human body? I've studied this before but I didn't put much effort on it because you know, I was stupid and one heck of a party goer and I was so damned lazy. Xhemin was the one who always makes my homework you know… and Huzey too… that Diamond Prince had always been tolerating my laziness…."
"Young sire…I'm sorry about…"
"No..no..no.. Don't be sorry Sam. You don't need to be sorry about me or Huzey. I can heal him. I'll finish my study in these stem cells then I'll make him get back on his feet again…that's just easy…it's just a matter of time…" he sounded so sure but his eyes reflected all his frustration.
"Young sire…" Sam said weakly, her voice contain a deep concern for the boy whose eyes never departed from the book he was holding as if afraid to miss some information contained in that book. Did he spend all these days reading hi books to find something to cure Huzey?
"It's no in here" Ziggy threw that book and took another, then started scanning through it the way he did on the previous one. "I'm pretty sure I've read it somewhere"
"Aha! Right here!" Ziggy gasped when he found the thing that he was looking for and for the first time he glanced at Sam, seemingly proud of the book he was holding " See Sam? It's right here I've found the article about stem cells. Stems cells are true…."
"But young sire, stems cells are still under research" Sam answered, trying not to give Ziggy any false hopes. "There's no tested procedure that had been done yet on that research and —
"You are right" Ziggy cut in quickly "So I'll be the first one to do it, on Huzey. I can conduct my own research about it and once I'm successful on it I'll treat Huzey. I can make it Sam, you see I'm the great Ziggorioh Montreal. Dr. Miles even said I'm one of a kind and that my skills are extraordinary. I can make it, all I need is some focus and that book—" He added pointing to an empty table. "Hey where's that book I've put here"
Ziggy ran to the table he was pointing and started looking for something as the last color in his face drained "It's just right here…"
"…Where was it?" He hollered again, frustrated "I'm pretty sure I've put in here… Did you took it?"
"Young sire I just came in" Sam defended and she knew that Ziggy was not himself then.
"Well, then where is it?" Ziggy asked in hysteria, as if losing that book was a life and death situation. He looked for the book in panic, rummaging every corner of the room and the littered floor.
"Young sire stop that," Sam chided on him gently, knowing that Ziggy was out of his mind. Huzey' s accident seemed to have affected him so much that made him so obsessed with finding ways to treat his best friend—even putting his hopes on procedure with no proven success.
"Sam it's just right here!" Ziggy pointed again to the table, his eyes were pleading Sam to believe him. There was desperation and helplessness in his voice as his eyes started watering and his fingers trembling. Seconds after his panic attack which weakened his feet, Ziggy fell into the floor and sobbed terribly as if he was stuck in a nightmare and he needed some help to get out of it.
"Young sire, I'm so sorry" Sam slowly walked to her master's side; pressing her gentle hands to his shoulders as he broke lose.
Right then, as Sam witnessed Ziggy's misery, she felt something clogged in her heart as if she felt the same pain he had. She was never sure of Huzey's condition, not until now when she saw how depressed the youngest sire was.
It seemed that the explosion did not only affect Huzey, it changed Ziggy too, and perhaps everyone in their family.
