Fritz was at the peak of his life, known as the youngest trillionaire, he lived a very competitive life. 

He had worked himself up from being a student in a small university into a CEO and founder of "Space11" a company focused on space exploration.

After many succesful test Fritz decided to fully trust their work and be one of the first people that will able to enter deep space or "Aether" as some scientist called it. 

With the us e of the Aether one can be able to travel for light years away in a single month of travelling in the deep space.

The plan was to go to a nearby system and examine the planets whilst observing the animals' behavior during the travel. But like all plans do, things didn't go as planned. Fritz, 10 crew members, A monkey and  A dog will have to survive in a unknown and dangerous land. A place where all life in the universe meet "God's Arena"

RING RING RING! THUD! "Ugh...I am so done with school..." I said as I got out of bed, and into the bathroom. "Huh? What's this?" I asked as I saw a random paper placed on the counter. I picked it up, and started to read it. 

                           (THE LETTER)
"Hey Sweetie it's Mom. I just wanted to say that I already packed your lunch, and all the things that needed my signature. Also be a little bit careful today because last night Me, and your Dad saw the news, and it said that there was some kind of virus spreading so just wear a mask or something, and you'll be fine.

                     (AFTER READING)
"Virus? Such fake news these days ugh." I said as I took off my clothes, and started to shower.

                    (AFTER SHOWERING)
I dried myself up, changed clothes, got my bag, and went downstairs.

                         (DOWNSTAIRS)
I ate my breakfast, and then went to find my brother. Who would usually be in the living room reading some stupid books he bought. CREAK... "Huh?" Eric said as he closed the book he was reading. "I-is that..." I stuttered as I tried asking why he was reading a book  about dirty stuff, not the dirty thing like dirty walls...It was about some dirty s*xual stuff. "E-Eri-" "Get out Roni!" "Sorry!" I said as quickly as I could while I shut the door. "Well...He's growing up." "SH*T UP I CAN STILL HEAR YOU!" "Okay okay jeez! Just don't be late at school!" "Yeah yeah I don't care." "Ugh bye!" I picked up my bag, and went out the house. SHUT!

                           (AT SCHOOL)
*FOOTSTEPS* *FOOTSTEPS* THUD! " *Heavy breathing* Oh God that felt like an hour..." "You do know school is a 5 minute walk right?" "Huh?" I glanced at the person, and it was Michael. "Oh, hi Michael." "How're you?" "I'm good." "Have you heard about the new virus spreading?" "Yeah, my Mom told me but it's literally so stupid." "How come?" "Viruses are just plain, and stupid lol." "Not really...Millions of people die from other kinds of viruses." "Still it's pretty stupid." "Okay fine, whatever you say Ms.I'm so smart." "Hey! Don't call me that!" "So you're not smart?" "O-of course I a-" "Then why'd you say the thing you said a few seconds ago." "Ugh you really are stupid are you." "Oh, Roni you're really just cute, and weird at the same time." "W-wha-" "Anyways see you later!" He said as he winked, and said goodbye to me. 

                    (IN THE LAST CLASS)
As the Teacher kept teaching the class Sarah tugged on my sleeve. "What?" I whispered. "Look over at the window." "What? Why?" "Just look." "It's one of your stupid pranks isn't it?" "I'm not kidding just look." I looked at the window, and saw a limpy guy entering the school gate. "What the hell is that guy doing?" "I don't know but it doesn't feel good." "What doesn't feel good?" "The situation."

"Come on Sarah, it's not like he's a murderer or something." "Fine...I'll try..." Sarah said as she went back to focusing on the lesson, and soon the bell rang. RING RING RING! "Okay everyone do your homeworks, have a great day, and be safe." The Teacher said as she started to pack up. "Class dismissed!" "O my God finally." "Roni?" "Huh?" I glanced at who called me, and it was Michael. "Oh, it's you." "You two come with me." "What? Why?" "I have something to tell you guys." "And what would you want to tell us?" "Not until we go somewhere quiet." "Ugh okay fine." The three of us stood up, and left the classroom.

                (IN THE JANITOR'S CLOSET)
"So what the hell are you gonna say?" "When I went to the bathroom I heard some stuff in the principals office." "So what? It doesn't mean that he's making love with someone or some sh*t." "It wasn't like that." "Then what?" Sarah asked. "I opened the door, and I saw something disturbing." "What'd you see?" "There was a man inside, and he was..." "He was what?"

"He was eating Principal Jerold..." "What the f*ck?!" I asked in a loud voice. "Sh*t up Roni everyone might hear us!" "So what? Everyone should hear this!" "If they hear us they'll litteraly start freaking out." "How are we even supposed to believe you Michael?" Sarah asked. "Yeah, how are we supposed to know this isn't one of your stupid pranks." "I'm the telling the truth!" "Then show us." "W-what?" "Show us." "But." "Okay then fine, but I need you guys to be safe." "Of course we will."        " *Sigh*  This is such a bad decision." 
  
 (ON THE WAY TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE)
"I swear if this is a prank I will slap you Michael." "I told you it's not." We kept walking, and soon we were infront of principal Jerold's office. "Open it." "What? Why me?" "It's your idea so it's your responsibility to keep us safe. "Ugh fine." Michael grabbed the door handle, and slowly turned it. "Don't be loud." He whispered. "Yeah sure." Michael opened the door fully, and we were immediately attacked by a strong musty smell.

"What the hell?" "Should we go in?" "Yeah we should." "A-are you crazy?" "No, but that's exactly what I'm gonna be if I continue what I'm about to do." "Roni stop don—" CLINK! I accidentally bumped against the flower pot on the table next to the door, and then a guy suddenly rose up from the ground, and it was..."P-principal Jerold..?" Sarah asked in confusion. "*Growl* *Growl*" "What the hell?" "Should we run?" I asked, as I started backing up slowly. 

"*Growl* *Growl*" "I think we should." "Why does Principal Jerold have blood all over him?" Sarah asked in confusion. "You're literally so stupid Sarah." "*GROWL!!!*" Just then Principal Jerold jumped on Michael, and that made him startled. "AH!" "Oh my god!" "Help me Goddamnit!" Michael said, pointing to the umbrella placed in a umbrella holder. "Here!" I grabbed the umbrella, and swinged it at Principal Jerold's leg.

"URGGG!!!!" Principal Jerold fell to the ground, and Michael kicked him in the face. "Run!" Michael said as he kicked Principal Jerold again, which made him fall again. "Okay!" Sarah said, as she grabbed my hand, and started to pulling me away. "You know I can handle myself right Sarah?" "Oops okay sorry." Sarah let go of my hand, and we looked back to Michael, who was right behind us. We stopped infront of the bathroom signs to talk, when suddenly the emergency speaker turned on. 

"Hello Windswood High students! Everyone must gather outside since we will be evacuating! A man has broken into school grounds, and has attacked 9 staff members according to what we know right now! Please stay calm, and be safe." After that, the speaker turned off. "This is really weird..." "I don't know what this is but..." Michael slowly turned to us, and said..."It won't be pretty..."

-Chapter 1 Has Ended-

A new virus breaks out, and soon it reaches Veronica Lemion’s town. It soon reaches her school. And once an unknown man enters the school grounds...All hell broke loose.

"Come on, wake up you're going to make us late! It's our first day, we can not do this!" Adelaide peeled her eyes open and glanced at the clock, 7:30 am!

She jumped out of bed and ran to her closet, "I am up!" She yelled down the hall way to her brother and sister who were not so patiently waiting in the kitchen. She threw on her dark green sweat shirt and ripped jeans, and ran to the bathroom where she quickly ran a brush through her hair which was a tangled mess.  

"No time for make up today I guess, sorry Eastwood High" she mumbled to herself as she looked into her bathroom mirror. She threw her beautiful long golden locks into a cute high ponytail and brushed her teeth. "Adelaide, seriously come on! We have 5 minutes! You have got to start waking up on time" my brother complained as he marched down the hallway to where His sister was rushing to get ready. 
This will be their first day at their new school, they had to move states for their mothers new job. Thankfully, Adelaide hated her old school, rumors and fake friends had made her life a living hell. She is ready for a new life and a fresh start as far away from Pine View and Florida for that matter, as she can get, Texas was a good enough distance for her. "I'm sorry, I'm coming." She checked myself one more time in the mirror, even on her lazy days her beauty is radiant, her eyes a deep green, and her long blonde hair cascades down into beautiful loose curls. She is a senior with two sibling, Charles, her twin brother, is always very prompt unlike his sister who is always running late, he has sharp blue eyes and jet black hair. He is on the baseball, football, and basketball team. Madison, her younger sister has jet black hair, like their brother and brown eyes. She is in the band, and plays the flute beautifully. 
"Dude, come on" Charles begged. "Okay, okay I'm ready let's go!" They ran out of the house with their bags in tow. Adelaide looked over at her sister, "Hey, is that my jacket?" Madison shrugged her shoulders, "it's not like you're wearing it." Adelaide rolled her eyes and huffed, "whatever, just don't lose it and don't get it dirty." They all piled in and rushed to school.

By the grace of God they made it on time, and in one piece with Charles driving like a bat out of hell to get them to school on time. The first bell rang and raced to their classes. 
Adelaide made it just in time for Algebra. She scanned the room for an empty seat, hopefully one in the back. She hates being in the front. She found one in the back and sat down. 
"Good morning class. I'm glad to see you all here, bright eyed and bushy tailed. I see we have a new student! Adelaide Smith, would you please stand and tell us a little bit about yourself?" She took a deep breath and stood up from her chair, "hello everyone. My name is Adelaide Smith, as you heard. I am from Florida. I was on the cheerleading squad and volleyball team at my old school."
"Ah, well Ms Adelaide we have an exceptional cheerleading and volleyball team here, I'm sure we could get you in! Welcome to Eastwood!" Mr Sutton cheered. "Yes, welcome to Eastwood new girl. Now, get out of my seat" A deep annoyed voice came from behind her. Adelaide turned around to see a guy who stood a little taller than her, he was very handsome his hair dirty blonde, he smelled strongly of cologne. 
"Sorry, I didn't see that anyone was sitting here." She grabbed her things and started to move but he put his muscular arm out to block from walking by. "The name is Michael, I'll show you around the campus. Show me your schedule." Before she could move or speak, he grabbed the paper from her hands and looked it over. "We have the next class together, Mrs Stanley, walk with me there." he handed her back her paper, pushed past her into his seat. "Okay then." Adelaide said as she moved to the empty seat in the front of the class. 
She had a weird feeling about Michael. He's so pushy, and kind of intimidating, but also so handsome. His dark eyes made Adelaides heart flutter. She tried to brush it off and focus on algebra, which was her worst subject anyways. 

Finally, class ended. Adelaide gathered all of her stuff together and neatly tucked it all away into her back pack quietly humming to herself. "Alright new girl, let's go." Michael was standing over her desk, and made Adelaide jump. How long has he been standing there? "Jesus, you scared me!" Adelaide snapped half jokingly, "sorry." He sarcastically apologized. She stood up from her desk and started towards the door. 

Michael walked quickly and swiftly down the hall way, it was almost difficult to keep up with his pace. "Adelaide" she said. "What?"
"Adelaide, that is my name." Michael kept walking as though he didn't hear her. She rolled her eyes and kept walking alongside of him in silence. "Michael, wait up!" A male voice yelled down the hall way. Michael stopped and turned around, a guy the same height as Michael and equally as attractive ran down the hall way towards us. This school is getting better and better. Everyone here is so attractive. "What's up man?" He came in with a high five and shoulder bump, he turned his attention to Adelaide flashing his perfectly white teeth in a nice smile "Hi, I'm Jason. Nice to meet you." Jason extended his hand for a handshake. "Nice to meet you Jason, my name is Adelaide, but everyone just calls me Addy." "Alright Addy, it's nice to meet you. Where are you from?" "My family just moved here from Florida last week." "Well, I hope you enjoy your time here. If you ever need anything feel free to ask me!" he said and held eye contact for what felt like forever, finally he turned to Michael, "well I've got to get to class. See you later." He turned and walked off. "He seemed nice." She said cheerfully to Michael, "yeah he is alright. Let's go, we are going to be late" He turned and walked down the hall. 
The rest of the day went by pretty quickly, the people are very welcoming and kind. She couldn't stop thinking about Michael, something about him draws her in. Adelaide made her way to the parking lot, and was suddenly stopped by a short red haired girl she hadn't met yet. "Hey, you! New girl, I am warning stay away from Michael. He is MINE." She sneered and whipped away to join a group of girls who gazes followed her as she met up with her siblings and got into her brothers truck. Adelaide met their glares and whipped around into the truck to go home. "What was all that about?" Charles asked, "I don't know. Don't worry about it, it not a problem." Adelaide eased her brothers concern and they left.


Adelaide laid her things down at the kitchen table and tried to focus on her homework, but all she could think about was Michael and the girl who approached her. Maybe conversation with her siblings would clear her mind, "Charles, Madison. What do you guys think?" "Of what?" Madison sighed, distracted by her homework. "The new school!" She tried to sound cheerful, "it's alright, I met a girl named Whitney. She will be over soon, we were assigned a group project together" Madison sounded excited. "Great!" They sat in silence. Adelaide finished her homework rather quickly. "Done! I'm going for a run around the neighborhood." "Have fun." Charles mumbled as he struggled to finish his.

Maybe a jog is just what she needs to clear her mind from Michael, and whoever that girl was. All he did was show her where her class was. He wasn't even that friendly anyway. Adelaide quickly changed from her school clothes to her yoga pants and sports bra and headed down the hall towards the door. Through the glass she noticed familiar red hair, she opened the door and there she was. That same fiery red head who stopped her in the parking lot.

The climb down was awkward to say the least. Gravity helped to make traversing the "hallway" quite fast paced as well. but the whole dynamic of the situation pissed Michael off a fair bit.

'Who managed to crash this ship vertically? I mean... it probably wasn't done on purpose... but still! How the hell does that even happen?!'

He wanted to lift his hands into the air in exasperation and curse out, but that would risk him free-falling to his death.

Maybe he would land on Carrian...

"Eh..." Michael eventually shrugged, believing that the action wasn't worth its benefits.



They continued the climb downwards, with Michael envisioning how long hallways were a design flaw on every star-ship. His arms; ones he still hadn't completely adjusted to, also began to grow sore.

But before he knew it, Carrian who was holding the small purple orb in one hand, let out a triumphant grunt as his feet clamped steadily upon a newfound foothold.

Michael then hurried himself to achieve the same goal.

As he too managed to reach the bottom, he looked around to notice the surroundings were the same as those witnessed on the climb down, with added nose-stuffing dustiness.

"Hah, would you look at that! Hallways do have an end in this monstrosity, although we reached one sooner than I expected.'

'Wait... how far down was he expecting to go?'

"Never mind all that though, let's see if the U.P.C. left any valuable or worthwhile goods" Carrian's eyes flickered with greed as he began walking down the only available path.

Michael, proceeding to follow the bandit, wouldn't just let new info slip him by.

"U.P.C.?"

Carrian slowed down a bit and looked quizzically at Michael, who asked questioningly.

"You know, those soldiers who were around here up until a few years ago... up until... 'The Incident' "

He spoke the last words with unmatched dread and underlying hatred.

But when Michael still insisted on staring on confusion, a spark of what could only be seen as realization appeared in Carrian's eyes.

"Ah... I forget that you aren't as old as you express yourself. What are you? 3 years ol-"

"I'm not a fucking kid!!!" Michael angrily interrupted.

"... Well anyways... the U.P.C. stands for 'United Planetary Control' or Command or Something. And its one of the two primary factions within this part of the galaxy. The other one is a dictatorship; The Alpha Augusta, bastards known for cruelty, messed up stuff and the like during 'The Incident'. They've got these little minion factions under them, being ordered around like ants. I think the biggest one is the Militant Bastion?"

He shrugged after momentarily trying to pinpoint the name.

Michael began to think that Carrian might be quite knowledgeable for a bandit if he could accurately spout the names of political factions that, from the looks of it, rarely interact with people on planets like this. But he hadn't been on the planet long enough to know for sure... heck, this was only his second day here!

"Aren't you quite smart for a bandit?"

Carrian raised a brow at Michael.

"I think you underestimate the term 'bandit'. Not only the tangible things in life can be stolen."

Michael, thinking about it shortly, recognized that the dirty blonde bandit's argument was intact, with a pondering expression to show it. A question remained in his head, however, that he refused to ask due to the possibility of him not knowing, putting him under further suspicion:

"Just what was this "Incident" for it to involve something on the scale of this ship?"

The walk down the corridor was plenty eventful.

A few broken skeletons bagged up in uniformly designed attire, smashed up against the "floor" here and there, covered in dust. It made Michael wonder if he should feel uneasy, but strangely, he didn't.

According to <<Identify>> they were the ship's crew, but Michael had already guessed that. They were probably killed on impact.

The corpses held nothing of value according to Carrian, who continued on walking after giving them a brief once over.



They also crossed a few doors, but these ones were either on the "floor" below them or above and out of reach.

The flat metal surfaces had small, round peepholes for viewers on the inside, and nothing else. Michael guessed that the ship had to have power in order for these doors to automatically function, unlike the airlock outside which was most likely run on emergency power.

Regardless, the two went onward. Along the way, more corpses were encountered, and with them, some better loot.

Besides finding a small handgun on a uniquely bagged sack of bones; which Carrian nonchalantly tossed over to Michael as if he didn't care for it (and had no morals whatsoever), they also found other interesting pieces, which Michael "identified" and found out were components for computing technology.

'This guy can't even build computers can he?' Michael pondered but soon came to the conclusion that it wasn't likely,  seeing as how Carrian couldn't or at least didn't fix the airlock panel himself.



Now looking down at the weapons in his hands, Michael reaffirmed that although this world had some game-like aspects to it, there remained the basic reality of life presiding over it all.

That wasn't to say that he couldn't shoot a gun, he very well could... just not a handgun.

Michael's grandfather, on his father's side, and his friend Jack Rickardson, whom Michael most respectfully referred to as Mr.Rickardson were constantly dragging young Michael outdoors to hunt with them, in attempts to, what they told his mother, "breathe a little nature into the boy".

His grandfather was a fine shot, Michael could tell he was a real sharpshooter. But Mr.Rickardson was another story altogether. In terms of looks, he was no different from a haggard looking, thin Santa, near opposite of his grandfather. But when the man had a rifle in his hands and was surrounded by dense green woodland, he became an omnipresent figure. He could tell where an animal was, and was headed, just by "the smell" and could see the individual hairs move on an animal's body a kilometer away, or so he said. And Michael believed him, from what he'd witnessed of the man's skill, it might as well have been true.

That being said, Michael today, was pretty sure that under the teachings of those two figures, he could use a rifle of sorts well, at the very least. But his experience with weapons only went so far, with what he had currently, he was doomed to embarrassment, especially because it was a type of weapon he had never even heard of before: a pledic-based plasma lance generator.

'wtf?'

He identified it, and in doing so, discovered the 3 basic categories of weapons; plasma, kinetic: similar to the weapons humanity used in his previous universe, and force wave: some sound/space-based weapon type.

There was also the make and model of his weapon listed as well on the blue screen.

Carrian brought him out of his trance with the shuffle of his feet back in the direction of the way they had come from.

"Well... I managed to get something worthwhile. From what we've seen so far, I don't think it'll be getting much better than all this... It's probably best to turn back now before we get too far in. For all we know, all of this might just lead us to a door we can't crack open." The bandit had a doubtful expression on his face, as if he still wanted to proceed forward, but was using his better judgment.

Michael frowned at Carrian, remembering the original objective in entering the airlock in the first place. However, he did see the sense made by Carrian's logic.

But with Carrian's first step backward, a sudden explosion ruptured from the area behind him. The purple lighting was immediately taken over by an alarmingly bright red.

The blast sent Carrian flying backward, beyond Michael's view, where then milliseconds later, he too was launched backward with tremendous force.

Amidst his painful tumble he could see the metal walls around them bent instantly, coloring themselves white from the heat of the inferno in some places, and simply bursting, sending pieces of shrapnel flying outwards, in others.

'What th-'

Michael's thoughts were cut short as another explosion simultaneously burst out from the wall to his right.

Mankind, incapable of reaching beyond their solar sphere, unsurprisingly, were oblivious to the impending universal apocalypse. That is - until a bright light, deemed "holy" by some, descended from the heavens (stars really) offering all of mankind a choice: live a few more peaceful years, then, die a terrible, absolutely horrible death. Or, struggle to survive elsewhere, with a chance of boundless prosperity.

'It was quite the enticing offer', were the thoughts of Michael Bonandarte, a young college student and video game enthusiast. It was also quite hard to resist an offer from the voice resounding directly into your brain. Like many others, he accepted.

But, his expectations were completely shattered by this new Reality. Reincarnated as a small child on a war-torn, scrapyard planet; Michael was left questioning, where his promised "boundless prosperity" was? And what's with all these blue screens that keep popping up? Wait a se-What the?! This isn't a game, is it?!!!

Two Years Later

AN OBNOXIOUS VIBRATION from within my hands startled me. I jumped in my seat, my finger slipping over the phone screen and dying in my game. I scowled at the device as it read, "You have failed. Try again?"

Way to rub it in my face, you piece of shit. 

Sighing, I looked through my notifications to see I had a text message from Michael. 

Michael: Meet me at the station before you head home. 

Having a cop for an adoptive parent definitely has some perks, don't get me wrong, but it was the moments like these where I dreaded it.

Me: Okay, picking up my schedule now. I'll lyk when I'm on my way.

I clicked off my phone and placed it on my lap, readjusting my position as I grew uncomfortable. I've probably sat outside this damn office for a good twenty minutes. Another screech sounded through the not-so-sound-proof office walls. It was clear someone was not having a good day. 

My body nearly jumped again when the thick wooden office door slammed open. A slim teenage girl around my age walked out, her chin held high. Bleach blonde hair, high cheekbones, slim waist, tight pink mini skirt, and a matching crop top. 

Yay me, I get to meet the real-life Barbie Doll.

She seemed to have felt my stare as she suddenly notices my presence. At first, she seemed surprised, but once she took me in - chocolate brown hair, matching eyes, while wearing a white sweater with skinny jeans and converse - she did not seem impressed. 

She also had bright blue eyes. How cliche.

Her perfectly trimmed eyebrow raised. "Are you knew?" 

Her voice reminded me of rose thorns. Don't ask why, because I don't know either. 

"Yeah, I just moved here this morning." 

"Oh?" She suddenly seemed pleased and it frightened me slightly.

"Well, let me be the first to welcome you to Allegan High." 

She wasn't technically the first but taking another look at her clothing choice, I decided to keep that tidbit of information to myself.

"Thanks," I smiled. 

And with that, she nodded and walked away. The clicking of her five-inch heels tapping against the tiled floor is going to haunt me in my dreams. I could never imagine wearing such a monstrosity of a shoe. Though her being here piqued my curiosity about this town. 

Allegan, Michigan is nothing but long roads, wheat fields, corn fields, smelly farm animals, barns, and lack of any good signal. 

With a population of 3,572 - correction, 3,574 unfortunately, it was certainly nothing above average. In other words, boring as hell. I'm just glad Michael had installed the WiFi last night. After the long road trip from California, I was having Xbox withdrawals. 

A man dressed in a gray suit stepped out from the doorway, waving me in. He looked to be in his late forties with his pepper stubble dotting his chin. Although, with what I think had just gone down in here a few minutes prior, I could be completely off and this guy could be in his late twenties.

Who knew?

"Welcome, Celeste." He greeted. 

"Thank you," I smiled as I followed him into his office. 

It was an average size room. The wooden desk planted in the middle took up most of the space, while the three bookshelves lining the back wall took up any room left behind it.

There lay two brown leather chairs angled towards his desk. I decided to sit in the one to my right. Once comfortable, the principal, Mr. Parker, handed me a slip of paper. I took it, my eyes scanning over its content. 

Ah, my schedule.

Let's see here... AP English, World History, Personal Finance, AP Biology - I'm so going to regret that one - Gym, and Trigonometry. 

I'm already regretting this. 

"I'm sure your father has gone over most of this with you already, so I'll just keep this short." Mr. Parker said.

Wait, what? What was Michael supposed to go over with me? I don't remember this. Fuck. 

"You have five periods, each class lasts seventy-two minutes with a six-minute passing time in between. Your lunch, either A or B is based on your grade. Since you're a senior, you have B lunch." 

"Okay," I nodded. Somewhat following along. I think I was still stuck on the part where Michael was supposed to debrief me on this but hasn't yet. Fucker. 

"School starts on Monday, the twenty-seventh, and orientation tomorrow is completely optional. Your locker number and combination is listed above your classes as well as your new school email and password." 

Oh, that's cool. "Sweet, thank you." 

"You're welcome, Celeste. I hope you enjoy your senior year here at Allegan High." 

I sure fucking hope so. "I'm sure I will," I smiled. 

Mr. Parker stood and reached his hand out. I took it and shook his hand, thanking him once again and left. 

As I exited the double doors, I sent Michael a text.

Me: On my way. 

Just outside the front entrance were the student and staff parking lot. The entire lot was huge and I made a mental note to get here early for a good parking spot. Unlocking my car, I placed my phone in my back pocket as I reached the driver's side door.

Not going to lie, every time I walk up to this car, I drool and fall in love with it all over again. It's a brand new Audi R8 with a V10 engine and painted in red. She's a fucking dream. 

I had begged Michael for over a year for this car, even tried to bribe him, but nothing had worked. Or so I thought. Two years and a perfect driving record later, I finally got her. 

A pleasant sigh escaped my lips as I sat comfortably in the khaki leather seat and buckled up. Pulling up Google Maps, I typed in the address of Allegan Police Station and started on my way. 

Michael had just got the job two days ago before we had even arrived. Don't ask me how he managed that, because I have no idea. 

Although, it might have something to do with the fact that he's an Angel. Well, an Archangel more specifically. However,  his proper title is "Saint Michael the Archangel." 

Michael had lead God's armies against Satan, was a healer and protector of mankind, and loved by all. Now? Well, he just protects me. He left mankind in the hands of his brother, Raphel. Michael says he's a nice guy but I think that's just brotherly slang for "an egotistical ass". 

It took no longer than a few minutes to arrive at the station and find a parking spot. The town was smaller than a rat's ass. I hopped out of my car, locking it behind me as I strolled up to the double doors of the one-story brick building. "Allegan County Police Station" was plastered above the front entrance, a few lights dangled above to keep the sign visible at night. 

The sun was already starting to set and it was only five-thirty. This place is weird.

A sigh escaped my lips as I headed inside. Today was Friday and that meant school started in a couple of days. New school, new car, new house, new neighborhood, new people, and yet I'm still the same "freak." And by a freak, I mean that I'm an actual freak. I'm not even human. 

I'm a hybrid... with slight anger issues. 

I wasn't ashamed of who I was, but there were quite a few times where I wished I was a normal human being. Especially since that night two years ago. My mother's blood-curdling scream echoed in my ears and I visibly winced. Tears started to pool in my eyes and I bit my lip. I pushed the memories away, unable to face them today. 

Happy death-day, momma.

Pushing the emotions away, I focused on the task at hand. My eyes caught on the front desk to my left. The rounded wooden structure sat against the far wall, directly next to the hallway on the right that led the deputy offices. 

I had been there earlier this morning helping Michael carry in his things. You could never imagine the number of things he would need at his desk alone. And let me tell you, It was a really tight space back there. 

The man seated behind the desk wasn't who I had met yesterday. He had been a kind guy in his late twenties with beautiful green eyes and blonde hair. 

Damn, I need to get laid. 

The man that sat there now was tall and round. The scruff on his chin revealed that he hasn't shaved in a few days. His bushy gray eyebrows were pinched together in concentration.

What on earth was on that monitor that could be so interesting?

I glanced at his tag, his last name read "Willis." 

"Officer Willis?" 

The gruffly looking man glanced up from his computer and frowned, then returned his gaze to the screen. I had the urge to snap my fingers in front of his face but kept my calm. Was it wrong for me to feel insulted by an over-weight police officer who was probably in his late forties? 

"What do you need?" He grumbled. 

I mentally rolled my eyes. Wow, I'm a bitch. 

"I'm here to see my father, Deputy Michael Allen." 

Officer Willis sighed and glanced back up at me. "Take a seat in one of the chairs behind you and he'll be out in a moment." 

"Okay." 

Annnd he's back to the computer screen. 

My initial reaction was growl at the man, but that would only raise eyebrows and freak the poor guy out. So, for the sake of his sanity and Michael's job, I refrained. 

I think I'm bitchy because I'm horny and single. Shit. I need to get laid.

The waiting room itself was pretty small with only one row of chairs. The row consisted of eight or nine chairs and they were the doctors-office kind. Hard and uncomfortable. I winced. 

Besides myself, there was only one other person in the waiting room. He sat in the corner to the left, a dark gray hoodie pulled up over his head and a tattered magazine shoved in his face. His black combat boots would have looked brand new if it weren't for the insanely long scratch mark on the left toe. 

The ripped jeans hugged his thighs and looked hella good on him. His overall demeanor gives me the impression that this was probably no random visit. On the other hand, that was none of my business. 

Regardless, he still piqued my interest for some reason. 

I found myself at the old black vending machine by the entrance, the opposite end of the room from where the guy sat. I watched him out of the corner of my eye as I inserted a dollar. An "E4" combination later and Sweedish Fish dropped from the shelf. My eyes brightened a tad, my mouth watering at the sigh of nearly any kind of candy. 

Opening the package, I plopped a piece in my mouth as I walked back to the row of chairs. My butt found the chair closest to the vending machine, and there I sat. While I ate my Swedish fish in peace, I could have sworn I felt eyes on me. My gaze traveled up to the front desk, but as I predicted, Officer Willis' eyes were still glued to that damn screen. 

My eyebrows furrowed as I peaked out of the corner of my eye. It felt as if he was the one watching me, but that was impossible with that magazine so close to his face. The hair at the base of my neck rose; it was like a bright neon "WARNING: DANGER" sign was stamped on his forehead.

He hadn't moved since I walked over and he seemed completely oblivious to me. But if that was the case, then why did it feel like he was completely aware of everything around him - including me? 

I let my senses try and pick up anything around him (perks of not being human) but the only thing I could get off of him was his scent. Spearmint and... trees? What does this guy do, roll around in the woods all day? Humans even have a specific air around them that differentiates them from any celestial being, including demons, but this guy gave off jack shit. 

Who the hell is this guy, and what was he doing here?

I pulled out my phone to try and focus my attention on the game I had started earlier, but for some reason, it kept wandering back to him. 

Peaking out from under my eyelashes, I noticed the only visible body parts were his fingers that were curled around the magazine. The holes in his jeans were fake, but from his slouched posture and clothing choice, I'd say he was in his early twenties, maybe younger. 

As seconds drew on and those seconds turned into minutes, my desire to see his face increased. I continue to pretend to play on my phone but in all reality, I was just watching him. Something about him intrigued me, yet annoyed me at the same time. Though I think it was the fact that he wasn't paying me any mind and it was driving me insane. 

After a while, I took notice that the more I stared at him, the more uneasy he got in his seat. At this point, I knew he could feel me watching him. Part of me wanted him to look up and catch me so I could see his face. 

Grr. 

"Look up," I mumbled. 

His head shook ever-so-slight underneath his hood. 

My ears perked up and I swore I heard him say, "Not a chance, sweetheart." 

No way. 

I nearly jumped out of my skin when the front entrance burst open, two guys around my age striding in. Their laughter echoed through the silent building. I'm pretty sure I saw Officer Willis roll his eyes. 

"Evan, you scared that poor girl away with your biometrical whatever of the human what-not. You never had a chance." The first guy chuckled. 

My eyes widened a fraction as I watched them. They were good looking - like really good looking. The guy who's name I assumed was Evan, had dirty blonde hair, an angled jaw, and a sharp nose. His bright blue eyes were something I could find myself drowning in. When he blushed, it gave off his sexy innocence and I loved it. 

My eyes traveled lower and it was obvious that Evan worked out. He easily filled out his white t-shirt and blue jeans. His broad chest and long strong arms revealed how toned he was and at this point, I think I was drooling. 

"Shut up, Noah" Evan glared at his friend. "She seemed pretty interested to me." He huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. 

Noah chuckled, shoving Evan's shoulder playfully. "Keep tell yourself that, E."

My eyes did a double take as I took in the sight of Noah. His shaggy dark auburn hair was short and wavy, the kind I wanted to run my fingers through. His sharp jawline could cut paper and his smile was dazzlingly bright. 

Noah had a more athletic build, though his khaki's and blue n-veck still filled out in all the right places. 

I'm pretty sure my jaw was to the floor. 

Am I seriously drooling right now? Holy shit, Celeste get ahold of yourself.

Thankfully, the guys didn't seem to notice as they strode over to the guy in the chair. My eyebrows furrowed.

"Celeste?" 

My attention snapped from the boys to Michael, my "father", who stood a few feet in front of me in his new uniform. Brown was not his best color. 

Michael didn't wait for a reply after he gestured for me to follow him. I complied, walking by his side to his office.

Before I could stop myself, I quickly stole a glance back at the guys, my breath catching in my throat as I made eye contact with one of them. His friends were talking to him but he seemed to be ignoring them, his attention solely on me as I walked away. 

Grey eyes followed me as I walked with Michael until I disappeared around the corner. It gave me this weird and uneasy feeling I couldn't explain, like I was on his territory now.

If that was the case, I was treding on real thin waters.


"DID YOU GET your classes scheduled?" 

We've been sitting here at his desk for a good hour or so, discussing possible threats, safe houses, and refreshing our code names. 

Michael had mentioned that this town isn't known for anything too strange going on, thankfully. And that only have two neighbors for a few miles has its perks too. That way we could train in peace, and if needed, use the forest a few hundred yards behind our house.  

Now Michael's voice was going in one ear and out the other.  

"Earth to Celeste," Michael grumbled. 

"Huh?" I looked up, my gaze catching on Michael's scowl. "Sorry," I mumbled. 

"Let's try this again, shall we?" He sighed, leaning against his desk. 

"Did you get your classes scheduled?" I nodded, looking anywhere but him.

"Celeste, what's going on?" Michael's voice softened a touch, concern written all over his ageless features. 

I stayed silent, unable to come up with a believable answer. But in all honesty, I had no idea either. Today just wasn't a good day and I seriously didn't want to talk about that of all things.

"I know it's hard without her-"

"Don't," I snapped. 

"Celeste, I'm just trying to hel-"

"I said don't. Not right now." 

Michael nodded and my body released some of its built up tension. A few moments of silence ticked on before I get restless.

"Is there anything you need from me?"

Michael shook his head, not meeting my gaze. He missed mom too, sometimes more than I probably did. I don't know who hurt more these days, the daughter or the lover.

"Can I go home now? Please?" I begged. The Xbox was calling my name, my fingers itching for the remote. It helped me forget.

"Yeah, just let me grab a few things and I'll be right behind you."

Without another word, Michael grabbed his keys, a folder, and his jacket. Once he was set, I lead the way of out of the building. Before exiting the station, I had glanced back at the row of chairs. The guy and his friends were no longer there, but the magazine he had been "reading" laid on the chair.

The drive back to the house was a long and silent one, my mind unfocused as I drove through the night. Michael followed behind me in his squad car, his blue pick-up already parked out front at the house. 

I hadn't told Michael about the guy in the waiting room, which was odd considering I tell Michael everything. Well, almost everything. But the last thing I wanted was for Michael to freak out, his overprotective fatherly nature to kick in, and move us to the other side of the country. Again. 

Besides, I might have just imagined the entire situation anyways. No big deal, right? The chances of me seeing that guy again anytime soon were slim, so I wasn't that worried about it. 

A sudden flash of movement to my right caught my attention, my gaze shifting for only a moment to try and catch what it was. But that was all it took. 

Before I could fully comprehend what was going on, a large black figure leaped out into the middle of the road. I slammed on my breaks, the sounds of my tires screeching infiltrated my ears, screaming into my brain. I couldn't make out what exactly it was before my car slammed into something. Hard. 

The airbags deployed and I was thrown back onto my seat as my neck snapped from the whiplash. My vision started to blur as my head grew heavy. I could hear Michael yelling my name as he threw open my door. My eyes started to close as my head rolled to the passenger side window. 

A pair of glowing golden eyes caught my attention, paralyzing me completely. The only person on the entire planet that has golden eyes like those, was me. The eyes stared right back at me as I faded out of consciousness, black taking over my vision. 

I'm not alone.

"Who the hell are you?" he barked, a storm brewing within his eyes.

Okay, dick-o, just because you're hot, doesn't mean that gives you the right to be an asshole.

"Excuse me?"  I hissed. 

"You heard me," he snapped, glaring down at me as if I were a bug beneath his shoe.

"I'm gonna hear a lot of things when I shove my foot up your ass," I growled.

He straightened up, his eyebrow raising with a smirk firmly planted on his lips. "Kitten has spunk."

Dick.

When Zero returned, the wedding ceremony was over and the feast was in full swing. Some of the archangels weren't present and had left for official duties. Zero didn't really mind. After all, there was only one real archangel in charge of running Heaven's operations that he needed to talk to.
"Oh, Zero! You're here. Have you eaten?" Gabriel asked and Zero shook his head. The archangel laughed.
"I guessed as much," he said and dragged the teen over to the long table of feasts. "Here, the chefs reserved this for you. We can talk after you've eaten your fill, Michael's orders."
Zero beamed at the sight of food and completely forgot his manners until Medusa came around to greet him.
"Zero, I want to thank you for what you've done for us," she smiled and Zero choked on a pheasant leg.
"Oh no, the pleasure is all mine," Zero reassured after he could breathe again. Medusa looked really pretty and Zero wondered if Poseidon really didn't want to regain his sight. It's a real shame that he couldn't see how pretty his wife was. After all, a woman's most beautiful moment was on their wedding day. Once it was over, Poseidon would have missed it forever.
"What are you thinking about?" the gorgon asked when she saw Zero's troubled expression.
The young doctor sighed and shook his head. "I'm just slightly annoyed that Poseidon has to be this stubborn. Doesn't he know that if he doesn't heal his eyes tonight, he won't be able to see you in a wedding dress this beautiful anymore?"
Medusa laughed lightly and patted Zero on the head. The boy certainly grew taller and the long hair suited him. 
"Sayden's always been this way. He won't be satisfied until he feels like he has punished himself enough. The man has many regrets but it's a good thing I'm here to share half of that burden with him. Thank you for giving us a second chance, Zero. It doesn't matter if it was because of a quest, you've done a lot for us."
Zero blushed. "It's nothing. The true gift that I prepared for your wedding should be waiting back in your new home. I do hope that both you and Poseidon will take care of it for me and protect this happiness. I will have to leave Heaven very soon and start on my adventure."
The gorgon bent down to give the teen a hug. Even if Zero was now about five feet and three inches (160cm), he was still shorter than the gorgon. The young doctor felt that the hug was very warm even if the gorgon's skin was cold. He wondered if she would also be able to give Minerva hugs like this. If Athena's new life was raised with enough love, who knows, the past karma of the unfortunate goddess could be resolved entirely over time.
After Zero had eaten his fill and exchanged greetings with everyone at the feast, he excused himself along with the archangels who gathered in one of the meeting rooms Michael booked for them at the 7 Virtue Tower.
The 7 Virtue Tower was very cold and bright. The walls were completely white and light filtered in through every glass window making the place rather tiring to look at for Zero who didn't like the light too much. It made him feel tired thinking about the lack of night in Heaven when he tried to sleep last night.
For the recommendation meeting, only Gabriel and Michael will be present. Zero was told that he could request anything within reason from Heaven for helping to save the plane and reviving the dying Tree of Knowledge. Prior to this, Heaven and Hell held an individual meeting to renegotiate the terms of mana flower supply. For now, Zero wouldn't have to concentrate too much about negotiating for Hell's benefits because Mammon and Lucifer have that settled. For now, the supply rate of mana lotuses will be seventy percent to Hell and thirty percent to Heaven so that the new Tree of Life can help to support both planes better.
Zero knew what he wanted to ask for but he was also wondering how Merlin would react after he handed the magician his property deed. Of the many things that Zero could ask for from Heaven, the most valuable thing Heaven had to offer was the rich land of the plane that was ideal for cultivating plants of all sorts.
Once they were seated comfortably, Michael sighed and started with the speech he had to give. Zero half-listened and half-zoned out on the archangel who didn't really care. After all, this was just a formality. Truth be told, they'd already discussed the terms outside of the meeting. Sadly, it had to be done formally and recorded for archiving.
"With the above-mentioned terms and conditions, please let us know what you desire. Heaven will do its best to accommodate."
Zero smiled. Finally! Without hesitation, Zero slammed his palms down on the table with a huge grin.
"A pasture! I want a deed to one of Heaven's pastures, preferably the one closest to the Garden Eden. I also want visitor permit rights for the villagers of Half Moon Village to travel to and from Heaven freely. A long term visa with Merlin as the guarantor."
Gabriel's smile froze and Michael facepalmed. What was the use of pretending to be formal if Zero was going to be like this? Negotiations were supposed to happen but here, Zero spoke as if it had all been concluded. Then again, they really were concluded behind the scenes. Zero sought Michael out before the meeting some time ago to prepare a thank you gift for Merlin. He mentioned something about being very poor and decided that setting up a business in Heaven that will generate income for his teacher while he was away seemed like a good idea. Of course, the teen was going to split the profits. He was going to take forty percent of the profits and Merlin was going to earn sixty percent. What Zero didn't say was how he was going to send half of what he earned to Half Moon Village for them to expand the village and work on some of Zero's other projects. Zero also wanted to support Half Moon Village because they were also supplying his teacher and Coux with materials needed for the cafe and hospital. However, the land in Half Moon Village was too small and not as fertile as the one in Heaven. Owning a pasture in Heaven for farming purposes would resolve a lot of problems. Not to mention, The Tree of Knowledge in Garden Eden needs to be tended to regularly by Cleo.
"We have no problem issuing long-term visitor permits if you can have the villagers to register with the cupids. However, why a pasture? How big is the pasture that we are talking about?" Gabriel probed further, completely puzzled about Zero's unique request.
Zero thought for a while. "How big is the pasture closest to Garden Eden?"
Gabriel went to get a map of Heaven and zoomed in on the pasture closest to Garden Eden. Then, the archangel paused. The pasture closest to Garden Eden was actually a property that belonged to Gaia. It was left barren and undeveloped for the very reason of keeping intruders out of Garden Eden despite the magical barrier created by the Tree of Knowledge.
"This entire radius around Garden Eden belongs to Gaia. It's the pasture that best fits your requirements but it isn't for sale..."
Michael stopped Gabriel mid-speech and shook his head. "Consider it done," he told the teen who beamed. Gabriel looked hesitant but when Michael pulled out a magic scroll of ownership transfer from Gaia to Zero, he immediately understood what this was all about.
Zero signed the documents quickly and Michal told him that the villagers would need to register themselves according to Heaven's protocol for their respective long-term visitor passes that Gabriel was no in-charge of. The messenger archangel couldn't help but shoot the bossy Michael a dirty look. The meeting was quickly concluded and with the new title deed, Zero took the scroll and went separate ways from Gabriel with Michael. They were going to collect the last signature from Arabesque.
Needless to say, Merlin flew into a rage first when he saw the title deed. In the end, all it took was Zero twisting some facts to his advantage for Merlin to sign it. The wizard was initially afraid of having more work on top of his current work until Zero explained that Merlin was only required to act as a guarantor for Zero in his absence.
"All the other work will be managed by Half Moon Village. If anything happens, you can call me and I'll teleport right back. This is just a formality. Also, there will be compensation for troubling you with the legal documents," Zero explained.
"Compensation?" Merlin quirked a brow.
Zero smirked. "You'll get sixty percent of the profits. Of course, consider this payment for the help I've received so far. I might have to trouble you for more favour in the future so this is something skin to a downpayment for the trouble I will be causing?"
Merlin made a face and twirled his beard. "I reserve the rights to refuse your future favours."
Zero grinned. "Deal!"
With the matter smoothly resolved and Merlin fully convinced, the deed was signed. Once Merlin's signature was etched on the scroll, it vanished with a flash of light, disappearing into the angel's archives. Michael took his leave and Zero decided that he shouldn't dally with his departure either. He'd already said his goodbyes at the feast and to Buddha who he saw a few days ago. The last person he needed to bid farewell to was his magic teacher. Now that everything was in place, Zero had stepped through Arabesque's portal, setting the coordinates to somewhere very familiar.
Back in the village, Truen was polishing his arrow tips when the portal in the village square activated. The wood elf was immediately on his feet when Clowis sounded the horn. Zero was finally back!
The teen had grown yet again when Truen saw him but before the wood elf could go over to greet Zero, a certain werecat beat him to it.
"Zero! You're finally back! It's not fair that everyone else got to see you while you were training in Heaven... did you bring any souvenirs?"
Zero laughed. He definitely came prepared, knowing this would happen. In fact, Zero was still looking at the crowd, searching for that one person he had wanted to see for the longest time. Now that his promise had been fulfilled, it was time for them to travel together again.
Zero handed the souvenirs to the children and chatted with the villagers who noticed his change of hairstyle and his additional height. Zero no longer looked like a teenager. If anything, he was looking like a very young adult now and a very brilliant scholar. The lab coat only added to his mysterious charm and it was difficult to tell at once glance if Zero was male or female. Zenobia made a very apt comment that Zero grew up beautifully and nobody corrected her because it made Zero happy.
Gabriel had just left the village after registering the villagers and Zero explained that they could now visit Heaven whenever they wanted and had jobs to do. The agricultural team was most pleased with the arrangements and Zero left Cleo to take care of the crop rotation to satisfy Hua Tuo's hospital needs as well as Zero's personal medical inventory that Zoe was looking after from the mindscape. It took Zero a long while to settle all the outstanding village matters as the village head but when he finally did, someone else approached him from behind.
"Hello, Zero. It's been a while. Have you been well?"
This time, the young doctor froze, not daring to believe his ears. He sounded exactly the same as Zero recalled. It's almost two long years since they first met and Zero started to wonder where all that time went. So many things happened in that time but some things never changed.
Truen was prepared for the tackle and held his arms open, smiling widely as Zero leapt into his chest, crying like he did when he was only a child. Despite the exterior maturity, Zero was still a kid when it came to his best friends. The wood elf laughed and comforted the sobbing mess in his arms.
"Welcome back, Zero."

It was late at night and he hadn't left Wren's bedside since returning. Wren's breathing and heartrate were finally normal and the rhythmic sounds caused him to become rather sleepy as he leaned forward with his head in his hands. There was only Wren and himself in the room, as it was well after midnight so everyone else was gone, even Sir Shoyo who had a small room with a bed a few doors down, was resting peacefully because he trusted the man to take care of Wren. There was a small, dimly lit lamp on the night table near the bed that cast just enough light in the room so that he could see where he was going. He sighed to himself, 'I just ran straight here without thinking. I haven't even, changed *sniff sniff* okay I definitely need to change, probably shower too. Hopefully she doesn't wake up when I'm in the bathroom,' the man quietly stood up, picked up his bag of clothes that Naya brought him, and went into the small restroom to rinse off and change quickly. 

    He turned the water on then reached his hand in to test the water, 'Ahh, warm water, this feels so good.' He quickly took off his dirty clothes and stepped into the shower. The water ran down his wounded body, falling to the ground slightly discolored because of the mud, dirt, and other debris. He quickly lathered his hair and body with the soap, taking care not to get any of the soap in the wounds on his arm. He looked over his shoulder at the cut nearest to his arm and noticed part of the cut went through his tattoo. 'I wonder if this will be the wound to finally ruin my ink,' he chuckled softly to himself, rinsed his hair and body, and turned the water off. There was only a small standing shower, sink, and toilet in the restroom, so he made sure to not bump into anything as he dried off and got dressed. "What the-really Naya?" He looked down into the bag and noticed there was no shirt. He sighed deeply, 'I really don't want to put that sweaty shirt back on, it smelled bad. Plus, I would rather Wren not vomit as soon as she saw, or rather, smelt me. I bet you did this on purpose Naya!' He sighed once more, gathered his clothes, put the small towel around his shoulders, then walked out of the restroom back to his seat near her bed.

    He noticed that her face didn't seem like she was in pain, 'That's a relief.' He lifted the small towel a bit to catch the drops of water that were falling from his damp hair. Wren stirred slightly and he froze, "...Please wake up Wren...for me?" his voice had a low slight sad tone. After a few more moments Wren didn't stir anymore and he sighed in defeat. "Stubborn as ever, huh My Lady?," he chuckled lightly and leaned forward, resting his elbows on the bed and his head in his hands. "My Lady...Wren, there are some things I need to get off my chest, but I don't think I'll be able to say it if you're awake. You make me so flustered sometimes," he nervously chuckled. "Ngh, Mi...Michael..." Michael was startled to hear her call for him and he quickly lifted his head to check on her, "Wren, are you alright?" No answer; "Heh, calling out for me in your sleep, that's new. Can't lie, that makes me feel good. Gosh, I sound like such a creep, what if it was a bad dream? Ugh I-" 

    Michael suddenly stopped talking then looked down at his hand. 'Her hand is so warm and so small,' Wren had lightly placed her hand on top of his large hand as if trying to assure he was really there with her. Wren's eyes were still closed but there was the slightest smile on her face, causing Michael to smile as well. Michael chuckled to himself, he wasn't sure how long it had been since he saw her wearing anything other than her Shadow Level attire. She had on a lightweight, pastel blue robe, that was tied off to one side and her hair that was usually neatly braided was lying loosely on either side of her pillow. Michael reached a hand out towards her face, but stopped before making contact. Michael was not sure if the subtle glow from the light or his lack of sleep was the cause but, 'She looks more beautiful everytime I lay my eyes on her.' He smiled then noticed her leg was uncovered and went to adjust her blanket, while doing so he noticed a large bandage wrapped around her thigh. 

    After a few seconds his face turned pink ever so slightly because he realized he was staring at her exposed thigh, when she was asleep none the less. He carefully adjusted the hem of the robe and quickly covered her leg. He shook his head, 'I'm going to have to take a cold shower soon if I don't get some sleep,' making up his mind he carefully moved his seat to the wall near the bed, then looked down at Wren once more before slowly approached her face, "Forgive me My Lady," he said before lightly kissing her forehead. He lingered a moment, then walked to his seat, leaned his back against the wall, crossed his arms, and closed his eyes. 'Mm, what was that just now?' Wren put her hand to her forehead and slightly stirred once more, this time slowly opening her eyes. She sat up slightly and looked around the room she was in, 'This room is familiar, it can't still be me inside my mind...right?...' Wren's thoughts trailed off as her eyes landed on Michael. 

    His chest was slowly moving up and down with his breathing and his eyes were closed, she noticed a small trail of water going from his shoulder down his torso. 'He showered? Or maybe it rained, I wonder how long he has been here?' Wren opened her mouth to speak but no words came out. She closed her mouth and raised an eyebrow in confusion. 'Why is he only half dressed? I mean, its not that I mind, heh, but...' Wren smiled cheekily and looked around to be sure no one else was in the room. After checking her eyes went back to Michael. His muscles flexed ever so slightly, 'I wonder if he's having a bad dream, I should probably let him know that I'm aw...awa-' ACHOO! Michael jumped awake in surprise and almost fell out of his seat, Wren giggled then cursed internally because of her loud sneezes. Michael's eyes were darting around and he rubbed his eyes, Wren smiled awkwardly and slightly waved.

    "Sorry Michael. I was going to try and wake you easily but my snee-" Michael stood up from his seat and hurried to her, the small towel falling to the floor, then hugged her tightly interrupting her apology. She was shorter and still on the bed, so her head was against his chest, but she hugged him back almost as tightly as he hugged her. "Mi- hey you're a pretty muscular guy ya know, I'm..*cough* need to breath..." Michael continued to hold Wren tightly, and she noticed he was shaking slightly. "I'm so sorry My Lady, I, I didn't-couldn't protect you. I'm so sor-" Wren managed to life her arm and cover his mouth, "Michael let me go please, you're crushing me." Michael reluctantly did as he was told, once he let her go he sunk down on his knees near her bed. The bed was relatively low to the ground so half of his torso was still over the top of the bed. Michael grabbed her hand before she could move it and he lightly kissed her palm. 

    "Michael?!" Wren was startled by his kiss, "My Lady I was so worried, you only just regained full conciousness earlier in the day, I rushed here as soon as I heard. I have been so worried...Also, we need to have a talk with Miss Naya, I asked her to bring my bag of clothes, but she took out my shirt." Michael clicked his tongue in annoyance, while Wren laughed, "Haha okay I'll talk with her Michael. I don't know where she gets the idea that we should be an item. It's not like you feel-" Michael's faced scrunched up, "My Lady, are you honestly that oblivious to my feelings for you? In this past year we have faced many obstacles and it just made me understand how much I truly care for you, and not just as a loyal guard...Wren, I l-" "Don't say it...A part of me wanted to ignore your feelings and hope we could go back to how things were, but you're right. We've been through trying times lately, and I too understand...but, but we..."

    Wren's voice trailed off and she leaned forward towards Michael. He leaned forward as well until their foreheads were lightly touching. "My Lady..." Wren didn't answer, 'It's now or never Michael, just do it. Tell her how you fee-' Michael's mind went blank when he felt Wren's warm hands on either side of his face. He closed his eyes so he could better enjoy the feeling, then was startled when he felt something softly touch his lips. His eyes opened momentarily and saw that Wren was apologetically looking up at him. She lightly bit the side of her own lip; 'Th-that was...her lips,' Michael quickly closed the distance and kissed Wren back. The kisses were soft and hesitant at first, but to his surprise, Wren deepened their kisses, even venturing her hand over his shoulder and on his back. He was losing his self control, he grabbed the back of her head, lightly intertwining his fingers in her hair. He leaned forward slightly but Wren broke the kiss and was breathlessly staring at Michael, who still had his hand in her hair. He looked down to Wren's lips, that were now more red in color and were glossy due to their kisses. She was trying to speak, but nothing would come out, she instead moved towards Michael once again, "WHAAAAT!" Both Wren and Michael were startled by the loud voice that came from the door and quickly separated their bodies.

*There is "gore, bloody, violent" content throughout the story that may bother or not be suitable for some readers. As well as some cussing and crude language.* 

Once I write more of the story, I will have a better developed synopsis.

There will be suspense, mystery, action, and fantasy elements mixed into the story, along with some flashback chapters that are noted with *before as well as after* The character is a female lead and the story mostly focuses on different parts of her life and those around her. 

This story takes place in modern/slightly futuristic times, but sort of alternate universe kind of idea, (sorry I'm bad at explaining) and most of the main characters will be between the age of 17 and 32.

I do my best to update at least twice a week or every few days, (sorry in advance if I am a bit inconsistent). 

The main title of this novel is "Lost in Time," the first volume title is "Unforgiven," which makes "Lost in Time; Unforgiven." As I create new volumes, the names will change; Volume 2 will be titled "Battlefront." 

This is my first time posting a novel and I am nervous/excited and open to suggestions on things to add/take away in chapters. Please comment with your questions, suggestions, and/or anything else that comes to mind. I may ask occasional questions in the author note to readers. It would mean a lot to this newbie if you could review, add, rate, etc. I hope anyone reading will enjoy the story. Thank you and stay safe. :)
