Imagine school kids taking some famous song or well-known speech and corrupting the words for humor.

Imagine the works of Ancient Grecian scholar, Cicero, and producing it in Latin (common tongue, vulgate)

Imagine print paper press technology taking "unknown text" and making nonsense with text alignment and missing punctuation.

Imagine digital publishing software taking corrupted paragraphs to show how professional a document you might create.

Paragraph alignment, word spacing, text alignment.

And there is 'Lorem Ipsum'; a paragraph out of context, for the wrong readership, corrupted of all meaning.

Have we really given it any thought?

Did language scholars sit down and discuss it in social circles.
Could the missing words be a secret code, and a way of passing messages amongst secret societies with secret handshakes.

Will code breakers discover hidden messages in breaking down the original Cicero text and Latin version?  Will the answer change if you consider the alignment and direct of words written in ancient Greek (a language that might transcribe leftward or rightward or a combination; depending on the age they wrote it).

I doubt it.  It doubt anything meaningful would be discovered; because the simplest answer is usually the correct one.

Lorem Ipsum exists because of corruption, reproduction, retelling, reprinting, misspelling, cut and pasting, and editing.

It is something to consider as I write today.  Will my word survive, and if they do survive; would I recognize them?

It has been a few months since Covid19 wreaked havoc around the world, tucking us into our homes for safety and security. I am delighted to be able to write and present such odd Ancient-Chinese themed novel to all of you. I know somehow most people around my age and younger are bored at home, so might as well motivate everyone to read and enhance their reading comprehension/ critical thinking skills. As an amateur Filipino teen writer I am not expecting so much from this book, but I can't help it, I want to be able to share a story to the mass and escape the world of reality for a while. "After the police filed the case, the officer who performed the DNA test announced to the media that the defendant's DNA was found on the victim's clothing and body. But he was charged by the local prosecutor as a result of this and was said to have violated procedural justice by publishing the DNA test results prematurely! 
"Everyone should remember that when the case was newly filed and the defendant turned himself in, there was a prosecutor who took the defendant's testimony at face value and violated the principles of professional conduct—as well as justice by immediately holding a press conference. He claimed that the victim actively engaged in a threesome with the defendants and had died of suffocation in the process. I also can let everyone know that the prosecutor who had prematurely held a press conference announcing that the victim had willingly engaged in the threesome not only was not charged by the procuratorate for violation of procedural justice but was actually promoted. One person was charged for revealing the truth, while the other person muddying the truth ended up promoted. How convenient! Of these two men, one announced correct information to the public but was charged for violating procedural justice. The other one, who announced false information with the intention to mislead the public, ended up being promoted. What does this mean?" 
Gu Nianzhi's gaze fell on Seth's parents sitting in the audience. "This means that this originally simple case saw internal police obstruction, then devolved into what we see today!"
"Objection!" The defendant's lawyer was furious and desperate, waving his fists at Gu Nianzhi. "You don't have evidence to prove there was internal obstruction by the police. I'm telling you, this is a very serious accusation!"
"I don't need your reminder." Gu Nianzhi cooly took out the information the prosecutor had given her earlier. "According to the police station's records, Seth's parents drove to his residence to 'clean up' a day prior to him turning himself in. They took away a dozen garbage bags. At the time, the police had already cordoned Seth's apartment as a 'key inspection area,' so nothing was to be touched inside. However, Seth's parents waltzed in because of their power and interfered with processing the evidence. Can't I make a reasonable inference that the defendant's parents had removed and destroyed all direct evidence?" 
All this was on the flash drive the prosecutor had given Gu Nianzhi. Gu Nianzhi threw all caution to the wind and even revealed this part of the story. 
He Zhichu was completely impartial as he translated all she said into German. The Germans watching the courtroom live stream were completely aghast. 
"What?!"
"This actually happened?!"
"How corrupt!"
Not only were the people in the courtroom stunned, but the Germans watching the live stream were shocked as well. Many of them were locals from Roslau, and although they already knew the local officials were very corrupt, never would they have imagined corruption to this extent. It was beyond what most people could accept. They all knew there were issues with this judicial system, but they hadn't thought it was so serious! Such unscrupulous trampling of justice was actually occurring in their internal judicial courts and police department! What justice was left?!
The defendant's lawyer didn't expect Gu Nianzhi to dare to say all that, so he maintained a dark expression and continued to express his "objection." He repeatedly said Gu Nianzhi's words were unrelated to the case, and even the judge was getting flustered.
"The plaintiff's lawyer should not be saying anything unrelated to the case. If you continue this, I will revoke your qualifications as a lawyer."
Gu Nianzhi sneered. "Your Honor, I originally sensed that you were malicious toward us, but thought it was just my own delusion. Now, I've discovered that it wasn't a delusion. It is true that you are malicious toward us. May I ask how a fair trial can proceed with a malicious judge? Also, I received my practicing qualifications from America and the Huaxia Empire, not Germany. Therefore, you have no right to revoke my qualifications."
The judge stiffened, then resumed his grim expression when he realized that Gu Nianzhi wasn't a local lawyer but someone who came from a major American law firm. His heart hammered wildly because he'd never thought that the plaintiff's lawyer would know all that. At this rate, it would be even more difficult for him to insist on pronouncing that the defendant was not guilty… 
Seth's stepfather, York, was not only the chief of the local police but also a congressman of Roslau and leader of the local Democratic Party. With such power, this was not someone easily incited by one local judge. Plus, they had already promised that York would leverage his party's power to support the judge in running for public office once the trials concluded… On one side was a bright future, and on the other was justice for a minor case involving a dead foreign student. There was no question of which way the judge would side.
The judge pressed his lips together, staring at Gu Nianzhi with furrowed brows as he contemplated. There was no direct evidence anyway, so he didn't care how glib her tongue was. He just had to insist, when the time came—he'd rather let a true criminal off than have to announce that he was guilty despite a lack of direct evidence.
Gu Nianzhi noticed the judge's nonchalant look and knew that these people had already reached a private agreement. Today's trial was merely a farce.
She snickered. So, they wanted to pull strings in the background? Dream on. 
The judge sternly slammed the gavel as a warning to Gu Nianzhi. "The plaintiff's lawyer shall not change the topic. May I ask if you have direct evidence? If not, I will be announcing the results of the trial." 
He stressed again that there was no need to make inferences because the court was evidence-based. Even the best reasoning would be useless without direct evidence—let alone a complete lack of evidence. 
Gu Nianzhi was now fully convinced that the judge was in cahoots with the defendant's parents. She finally understood the helplessness the retired prosecutor had felt. He truly didn't dare to go against them and was too scared to take out the evidence even though he possessed direct evidence. In other words, he didn't dare to take it out himself. At that moment, Gu Nianzhi decided to pretend that she had personally obtained the evidence to remove the kind-hearted prosecutor from the situation. She wasn't a German anyway, so she wasn't worried about a vile person like York sabotaging her or taking revenge on her. If they want to extend their claws to the Huaxia Empire or America to retaliate against her, Huo Shao and Professor He would teach them a lesson. 
When Gu Nianzhi thought of this, her anxious heart finally felt fully at peace. She turned back to He Zhichu, and he understood her intention. He nodded at her so she could freely proceed. Gu Nianzhi shut her eyes and suddenly turned to the judge.
"Your Honor, I have direct evidence that proves that Seth's parents obstructed justice, as well as direct evidence to prove that Seth and his girlfriend lied. They met with the victim, Li Haiqing, several hours before she died—not a day before, as they claimed."
The judge's jaw dropped. His eyes drifted uneasily to York, sitting behind the defendant's dock. York was Seth's stepfather and was also someone who had absolute power in Roslau. His heart throbbed as he secretly recalled that they should've cleaned up everything that was required. How could there still be direct evidence?

I am delighted to be able to write and present such odd Ancient-Chinese themed novel to all of you. I know somehow most people around my age and younger are bored at home, so might as well motivate everyone to read and enhance their reading comprehension/ critical thinking skills. As an amateur Filipino teen writer I am not expecting so much from this book, but I can't help it, I want to be able to share a story to the mass and escape the world of reality for a while. Lin San nodded. "I will..." It was time for Little Dream to act.
Before Lin San went out, Lu Yi Feng asked, "Call Wang Wei and tell him to change the tide... especially about Feng Xiao Qing's negative review. If someone is getting out of hand, tell Wang Wei to find the IP of the perpetrator and his or her real identity. After that, sue that person!"
Lin San sweated, knowing that Lu Yi Feng must be angry to do such movement. He asked softly, "Boss... there are a lot of commenters, do you really want to sue them one by one?"
Lu Yi Feng nodded. "Of course... Let's see who dares to say anything about Feng Xiao Qing after this!"
Lin San was speechless. They didn't even know the woman's real identity ah~! He also thought that Feng Xiao Qing wouldn't mind these kinds of comments and he didn't think that his big boss was the one who got angry... Really! It made him speechless ah~!
However, he could only follow Lu Yi Feng's order. Who told these people to have a stroke of bad luck and also offend his big boss?
Lu Yi Feng thought to himself. 'If it was only him, he wouldn't make it a big deal. However, they dare to tarnish Feng Xiao Qing's reputation. As a man, how could he let them be? Do they think that he was so easy to bully?!'
It took only a little while for Wang Wei to find out those people's ID and Lin San quickly kept the data carefully --- most of them were using fake IDs. After making sure that the big boss was being serious, he quickly filed a case to those people. Fortunately, there weren't many people --- it seemed like they were the ones that were hired by Lu Ming Cheng. 
'Serve them right!' Lin San thought to himself. 'Who told them to attack their future madam?'
Lin San quickly called Little Dream and gave her a tip about this matter. She should take advantage of this time to let her show the world what would happen if they offended Lu Yi Feng --- people would also think twice to work against them.
Little Dream asked, "Can I release yesterday's news now?" She was so excited when she reread the article that she had prepared.
"Not yet," Lin San said. "Wait until you publish the news about these people! I want to see the result first before deciding the next step." Publishing that news later wouldn't be too late.
"Okay!" Little Dream answered cheerfully, after all, she already got a tip about a piece of interesting news. Besides, Lin San and Lu Yi Feng were the bosses ah~! She should obey them, so she didn't make a fuss and quickly went out to record how the police captured those people.
Little Dream did her job well just like usual...
Not too long after that, she revealed the people behind the negative comments and it created a new wave of discussion. The culprits were only several people but they could post with so many accounts all at once --- even a stupid person would know that there was a conspiracy behind this matter ah~!
'Ah... no wonder they were degrading our God, Lu Yi Feng just like that! It seems like they have another motive...'
'True ah~! I also wonder why our voices were defeated so easily...'
'So vicious!'
'Yeah... so savage!'
'I wonder who is behind this fiasco? Must be a wealthy person... Hiring those people must have cost a lot.'
'I heard that there's bad blood between Lu Yi Feng and his half brother, Lu Ming Cheng...'
'Not 'heard', but it's the truth! There were a lot of articles about it back then.'
'Was it really Lu Ming Cheng's work?!'
'How could a person be so cruel to his own family?'

This time, Lin San didn't need to direct the conversations and yet, it pointed at Lu Ming Cheng on its own. Lu Yi Feng sneered inwardly when he saw this. Many people already knew that their relationship wasn't good, thus, he wasn't surprised that they could come up with this kind of talk.
After all, what they said also wasn't wrong. This was indeed Lu Ming Cheng's work.
Lu Yi Feng smirked to himself. He wondered how Lu Ming Cheng's expression at the moment. Lu Yi Feng previously had never done this ah~! Whenever Lu Ming Cheng used this method, he would just turn a blind eye and use another method to pay him back. He had tried to maintain their relationship to a certain degree, however, this time Lu Ming Cheng had gone too far.
By doing this, he was actually doing a direct confrontation which made their already bad relationship turned for the worst...
True to his expectation, Lu Ming Cheng was beyond livid! He kicked his chair and gritted his teeth out of anger. After all, some people started to accuse him as the mastermind behind this matter and it annoyed him to no end. 
"Lu Yi Feng... you are so good ah~! Even dare to directly provoke me..." Lu Ming Cheng said while gritting his teeth in anger.
Lu Ming Cheng threw a quite heavy book at Wu Ming which landed on the man's forehead pretty hard. Wu Ming gritted his teeth, trying to hold himself back from groaning because he knew that it would provoke Lu Ming Cheng's anger even more. He could only bear with the pain silently.
When he started working for Lu Ming Cheng, his boss' temperament wasn't like this and he had never resorted to violence. However, his boss had really changed since he lost 'it'. If he could honestly say, it was also because of his boss' own fault ah~!
If he wasn't loyal to Lu Ming Cheng, he would already leave him and resign a long time ago. Wu Ming could only sigh to himself.
Lu Ming Cheng asked Wu Ming, "Look! What kind of good job that you are doing?!"
Wu Ming knew that no matter what excuse that he had, Lu Ming Cheng wouldn't listen. Thus, he could only apologize and say honestly, "I'm sorry, Boss! This is my miscalculation. Lu Yi Feng has never done this before, so I made this mistake."
Something flashed in Lu Ming Cheng's mind. However, he wasn't really sure about it. "Hey... why do you think he suddenly changed?" He asked Wu Ming.
Wu Ming looked at the big boss in confusion. He wanted to say 'maybe because he's too fed up with your trick', but he didn't dare to. Thus, he could only shake his head helplessly. "I'm not so sure..."
Lu Ming Cheng looked at Wu Ming in disdain, knowing that the latter wouldn't understand. Lu Ming Cheng merely said, "Let's wait and see what's going on! Don't do anything for now..."
Wu Ming hesitantly asked, "Shouldn't we hire people once more to direct the conversation about you to another direction, Boss?" After all, they were currently bashing Lu Ming Cheng. This would affect their company too if the CEO was involved in a scandal.

YNG Entertainment could be considered the Goliath of the Entertainment World. Of the three most prominent companies, it was second place in revenue but first regarding the quality of its 'products'.

Unlike some others, YNG relied on a small but resourceful number of talents who possess a fearsome set of skills. From singers to actors and even scriptwriters; those people went through strict selections before entering the company and suffered from even harsher training afterwards. This giant, like a turtle, slowly emerged from the ground and steadily climbed up the mountain until it was at eye-level with phoenixes and dragons. 

YNG wasn't a company that was out for fast money or questionable fame. They do not hesitate to invest in their artists once they made it through the door, leading to a steady stream of talented applicants to pick from whenever needed. Rumours throughout the industry say that YNG holds the most stable umbrella for its artists. If not for a breach of contract or going totally against their image's concept, no one ever had to fear the basement treatment or being let down altogether. 

While YNG does burn money occasionally to shake the entertainment world, it never plays with high stakes. By distributing resources equally between the departments, they are also dividing the risk of failure. To minimalise narrow-mindedness, they adopted an open policy of mixing their in-house experts with contracted specialists from varying fields of life. By doing so, they have proofed to be flexible as a jack of all trades. 

When Jie Jie and a representant of the publishing company arrived at YNG's front desk, the female receptionists greeted them with a brilliant smile; not even batting an eye at the conspicuous black surgical mask Jie Jie was wearing on her face or the hood that hid her even further away from prying eyes. 

After stating their business, they were led by another receptionist to the waiting area, placed on a cosy settee, and served an espresso. 

"The espresso here is always worth coming all the way." The thin man said, sighing with a content smile. With sharp upturned eyes behind tin framed glasses and a clean-cut checked blazer over a wool vest, he gave off the stylish vibe of an intellectual middle-aged man. 

"So that's why you volunteered to drive me, Mr. Gu?" Jie Jie laughed. 

"No way, that's because I was afraid you would make a mess on arrival." Of course, Gu Bo Yang was joking, but the way he said it so naturally made Jie Jie wonder if he wasn't at least halfway earnest about that. 

Gu Bo Yang, 43 years old this year, was the editor-in-chief of the 'Connoisseur', a monthly lifestyle magazine by "Paperweight Press & Media Group" - Jie Jie's publisher. Someone like him wouldn't take on such a manual task like accompanying an author, but he had good connections within YNG and coincidentally had an appointment in the vicinity. Since the man himself was offering to bring her, she didn't refuse. Jie Jie was nervous enough as it was. To have a stable person such as Gu Bo Yang backing her up was more than she could ask. 

YNG's service, as well as its management, was impeccable. The moment they put down their espresso, a young man arrived on the spot to greet them. The employee pass around his neck named him 'Min Lee', and his rank was 'Supervisor'. 

As soon as he saw Gu Bo Yang Min Lee bowed down respectfully to greet the older man. 

"Mr. Gu, I didn't expect to meet you here today! I'm sorry for making you and author Jieshen wait!" 

'Jieshen,' that was her pen name. It was strange to hear someone other than the crew from the publishing company call her by that name. Jie Jie coughed to make Gu Bo Yang aware of that fact, and the perceptive man reacted right away. Of course, since even their publishing company has made those things a part of Jie Jie's contract to protect her privacy strictly. 

"Mr. Min Lee, it's a pleasure to meet you." He greeted the young scriptwriter and introduced him to Jie Jie. "I'm just here to accompany Ms. Shin to visit your department for her to gain some new experiences." 

Jie Jie, who stood next to Gu Bo Yang silently, kept the mask on her face. She bowed slightly to greet the young man in front of her. 
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Min Lee. I am Shin Jie Jie. From today onwards, I will be in your care." 

Min Lee, on the other hand, studied the woman in front of him quietly. It didn't surprise him that it was a young woman. And the fact that she was covered from head to toe was also nothing new to him, but what surprised him big time was the presence of Gu Bo Yang. His evaluation of author Jieshen changed with the addition of an influential man by her side, such as the editor-in-chief of The Connoisseur's Gu Bo Yang. 

'This woman is not just someone,' he thought to himself. Following his line of trade, his curiosity was lit up. He really wanted to know who this person was - even the mask she was wearing has now become a mystery item. 

"I'm delighted to make your acquaintance, Ms. Shin. I'm the head of YNG's screenplay and script department, Min Lee. I will be in your care, as well." 

The two shook hands and exchanged some pleasantries while evaluating each other. Jie Jie was also surprised that a figurehead of YNG could be this young. Min Lee should only be in his late twenties, early thirties at most. He must have been a master of his trade to reach such a position at such an age since it was a known fact that YNG doesn't have any backdoors you could slither in. 

"Now that my part is over, I shall head to my next appointment." Gu Bo Yang, who became the third wheel, began to withdraw. He accomplished his task and passed the responsibility onto Min Lee. 

"Thank you very much for giving me a ride, Mr. Gu!" Jie Jie' farewell got a slight nod from Gu Bo Yang in return, which concluded Min Lee's assumption that the two of them must have known each other on at least a favourable basis. He thought that even though Jieshen wasn't a famous name yet, one shouldn't take Shen Jie Jie lightly.

Min Lee led Jie Jie upstairs to the writer's department, where she was to familiarise herself with the environment and prepare for future cooperation. Today was for her and Min Lee to feel out each other and confirm their story. Most of all, it was to do some paperwork and for Min Lee to meet the unknown author at least once before they began their charade. 

"As planned, you will join the team of 'Red Thread' as a contracted author from Paperweight, specialised in modern literature and also someone who is in direct contact with author Jieshen. Apart from a few department heads like me and maybe one or two people for convenience, no one will know that you're de facto author Jieshen." Min Lee concluded the event and warned Jie Jie in the same way with a calm voice. "But we can only cooperate with you this far. In the end, it is up to you to not blow your cover." 

Jie Jie nodded in acknowledgement. Of course, no one would think that she was the author if not for her to make a blunder. It was her wish to keep her identity hidden, so of course, she would be the one who has to take extra care. 

"I understand. I will keep that in mind and behave accordingly." 

They had come into Min Lee's office. There were still some questions he had regarding her book. Also, Min Lee has to take a picture of her. 
"It's for your office ID Card. Otherwise, you have to sign up at the front desk every time you come." 

While Min Lee was looking for his camera in the drawer, Jie Jie began to take off her hoodie and the mask on her face for the photo. 

"You know..." While concentrating on putting together the SLR camera, Min Lee casually chatted away "isn't it easier for you to not hide like this? Your book is getting good reviews, but you get nothing of the attention that comes with it. Isn't that lonely?" 

Like many others, they thought that the reason for an author to hide their face was either because the person was a well-known person who wants to stay anonymous, or they were uncomfortable with their looks. It was a regular occurrence since most likely a person wasn't gifted with all of God's favourite chips. Skills don't go with looks, and looks don't necessarily go with skills. The entertainment industry was a ferocious place, and without looks, you have to excel greatly at something to make it through. Either that or you have the right connections. With someone like Gu Bo Yang, he was sure that Jie Jie must have at least some connections somewhere, although he still couldn't tell for sure yet. 

"But I don't think there is any necessary to hide your face or yourself here at YNG at all. This place values skills greatly and doesn't put beauty or connection first. We are very discreet, and even though the people here are part of the entertainment industry, we are not so superficial as to mind your background or your..."  

With his back facing Jie Jie while she took off her covers, Min Lee had been adjusting the camera's setting and chatting away. He wanted her to gain more confidence. 

The moment he turned back, the camera was already at his face. He was looking at the Jie Jie through the viewfinder. Once the lens automatically focused on the woman in front of him, Min Lee's words got stuck in his throat. His body shook hard, and his finger pressed the shutter button which led to the camera's flashlight to go off, surprising Jie Jie almost into flinching. 

"I... I wasn't ready!" She exclaimed, "Can we take another one, please?" She was scared that her photo turned into one of those driver license photos that no one dared to show others. And she would have to run around with that ID card anywhere around YNG. Please don't let it become a mugshot!! 

Min Lee, on the other hand, was still not back to earth yet. He lowered the camera slowly while his eyes stayed glued on Jie Jie. 

After a few seconds, he gulped and then completed his sentence with a quiet, shaken voice. 

"...your looks."

The young and just approved bestseller author and journalist Shin Jie Jie is writing Boys Love stories for fun in her free time and puts them online to share with likeminded fangirls. Because it's not her bread and butter, she takes her sweet and leisure time to upload — much to the despair of her fans.
