Asjad Iqbal exited the game with a frustrated and defeated face and started the update for the game PubG: VR Online.
PubG was currently the most popular game in India. The number of players was practically overflowing. It occupied a staggering 36% of the overall Indian VR game market. Its level of simulation had reached 40%. It was rich in content and had a very wide audience across all age groups in India. I mean, who wouldn't like sky diving to land on an Island, then getting involved in a PvP alone or in a squad, killing the 90+ other players with the most high-tech, state of the art weapons in a Virtual Reality environment.
It was the best stress buster and Asjad was one of the most loyal PubG fans! But the fact was that it was not an MMORPG game. Since the time Asjad came into contact with ancient games like World of Warcraft or Star Wars: The Old Republic on his PC, he had been absolutely obsessed with them. He had always found himself unknowingly pondering about what affect would an almost real MMORPG VR have on society!

But, Asjad Iqbal was a typical Indian and he firmly believed in things like coincidence and superstitions!

He moved his pupils to the side to skim through the icons straight to the one for Eve of Gods. Asjad smiled, fully preparing himself for what could be another great disappointment. As the game started, the body of Asjad in the real world lost control.
However, in his mind, an icon of a formation of Om(Aum) character appeared right before him and a feeling of weightlessness greeted him.
When he finally opened his eyes, a bright light emerged with a ringing sound.

A scene played out in front of him. Countless humans and different races fighting in a war over faith. Soldiers on both sides dying in massive numbers. God Maugus fighting with the other two gods; Brom and Siva, inside his Divine Kingdom. God Maugus's believers killed mercilessly even while losing with no signs of surrender until his eventual fall. After which, they were one sidedly slaughtered to the last man by the alliance army of all the other gods!
"Please select your class!" said a soft, feminine voice of the system.
After the story-line faded away, three templates of character classes surfaced before Asjad's eyes.
A powerful knight with an enormous one-handed sword, a wizard with a staff, and a rogue with a dagger stood in front of him.
Asjad was stunned for a moment. Then, he reached out and chose the one with the powerful knight's figure.
"Character, Knight confirmed!" the voice continued. "Please enter your character's name!"
"Asjad Iqbal."
"Character name, Asjad Iqbal confirmed."
As the system sound paused, the scene changed and a figure that was a mirror image of him appeared. "This is the character created based on your physical characteristics, you can modify and change the facial complexion by using the system's user interface!"
Even though adjustments could not be made for the body, since Asjad had always focused on exercising and gym, in addition to his height of 176cm, he had no complaints about his character's physical appearance, so he selected 'Confirm'.

A character interface appeared in front of him. The character that he had just created was wearing a set of worn-out equipment and had an enormous sword strapped to his waist.

When Asjad opened his eyes once again, he was taken aback by the scene before him.
Under the glow of a bright sun, a gust of wind blew on his face, making him feel as if he was in the real world and not in a VR game.
Everything before his eyes was so realistic that Asjad had to pinch himself to make sure that he was not dreaming. Although he felt a slight pain from that, atleast he was almost convinced that this place was real.
"How can this be, how can a standard 5TB VR game create such a realistic virtual world? At the start I thought, that the character selection was it and the rest of the game would be an empty nutshell. But such a scene is unimaginable!"
Asjad was stunned by the whole setting before him. He bent down and scooped the soil, examining the soil particles. Unexpectedly, the graphics and feelings were so clear and detailed that it left him in a daze once more.
"This is really cool! Finally, I have found the VR MMORPG of my dreams!!!"

Meanwhile, thirty minutes ago.
Ahan, in his Divine Kingdom, was deciding the final details of the game, such as the settings of the character class templates which were similar to that of the distribution of faith energy absorbed when the player kills a being from the other world.
For instance, when the player has chosen a character class, say, a knight, the faith power collected when a being is killed will increase the abilities of a player, mostly by their strength with a bit of agility. A wizard would mostly increase their intelligence, while a rogue's ability would be increased mostly by their agility and with a bit of strength.
Suddenly, a message popped up in his mind.

"Hahaha! Now this world will know of the greediest, most cunning, and horrible beings —Players." Ahan smirked while madly laughing out aloud.

Asjad was excited when he received the quest.
He was already becoming addicted to this well-made game.
He followed the instructions, opened the map, and saw that he was currently in the [Eastern Islands] which was encircled by the field boundary of the [Himalaya Mountains]. However, the land further away was shrouded by a dense fog. Meanwhile, the top right corner showed Exploration in Eastern Islands 0.01% complete.
Standing tall like a knight, he gripped his one-handed sword with a heroic spirit and headed to the outskirts.
As he followed the map, he was also scouting his surroundings. He was still in awe of the game's simulation, as the graphics were so fine and detailed that it felt almost impossible with the current technology of the world. It felt like a whole new world!
As he explored further down the path, he encountered a ferocious wolf.
Although he knew that it was merely a game that he was playing, Asjad still walked forward with wobbly legs to attack the wolf.
The wolf pounced towards Asjad. His heart was hammering against his chest when he saw all of this, but after all, he was just a character in this game. With this thought comforting him, he gripped his sword tightly and threw himself at the wolf.
"BAM!" He struck the wolf with his sword. At that moment, a '-10' in red appeared on top of the wolf's head, showing the amount of damage inflicted. The place where the sword had landed was also replaced by a stab wound.
Since there was no health bar available, Asjad had no idea how many more strikes he would need to successfully kill the wolf.
When the wolf pounced on him again, he quickly moved sideways and tried to dodge most of the wolf's attacks. But, when he was finally unable to dodge fast enough, a bloody value of '-5' emerged on his head due to the wolf's bite.
"Judging from this slight sensation of pain that I feel, the creator of this game must be an absolute genius!" Asjad exclaimed out loud.
The fight continued. But, the wolf relying on his flexibility, kept pouncing on Asjad until he fell on the ground. Asjad quickly looked up and before he could pick himself up again to dodge, he saw the wolf pouncing on him again, it's sharp claws tearing him apart.
"Damn it! There is just no way I can solo it!" Asjad was in shock.
Bloody numbers popped up one after the other on top of his head, then everything went pitch-black.

Ahan buried his face in his hands with shame when he saw his first player's pathetic end.
Asjad took off his virtual reality headset and slammed his fist on his bed.
"That son of a bitch wolf dares to kill me, I have to go back and have my revenge!"
Asjad who was mad with anger reached straight for the button and re-launched Eve of Gods.

Though, there's even a time-span for re-spawning, and the creator charges in-game currency for resurrection!
The creator must be a highly principled and rich game developer with sufficient funds! He still hasn't seen real poverty and is still lacking in the ways of the world to earn a fortune. However, Asjad had high hopes for this game because he was sure that all the netizens, gamers, scientists and businessmen would go absolutely mad at this sudden appearance of a VR game that appeared to be decades ahead of its time with its sentient AI NPCs and near perfect simulation almost similar to a reality.
The technology behind this game which the small gaming company called 'Pantheon' grasped had very wide ranging affects if it were to be shared with the public on Earth! He had a hunch that this game was going to go worldwide soon.
A notification popped up on his virtual reality headset, reminding him that the update for PubG: VR Online was completed, but he no longer felt bothered by it. As a professional player, he had a sixth sense for gaming. At this moment, he decided to go all-in for this new game!
As he was thinking about his bright future, the notification from his whatsapp group rang. It was from the members of his squad prompting him to go online, inviting him to EVO Grounds Challenge in PubG.
Asjad smirked and wrote in the group chat: "I've found my dream game, so I've decided to quit playing PubG!(tears_of_joy.giphy)"
Abduleria: "(ConfusedDog.giphy) Bro, wasn't PubG: VR Online your dream game?"

Asjad laughed at the lively group chat, he immediately shared the EvG game link with the group.
"It's called Eve of Gods, you won't believe me until you play it yourself!"
Seeing that Asjad had recommended the game himself, a few of them clicked on the link and after going through the game's official website, the group chat became active once more.
Sandy: "Verification done. Asjad-san has gone mad!"
ChitwandeepKaur: "Are you ready to bet on this, you dumb idiot?"
Asjad's eyes grew larger in anger as he read the message sent by Chitwan.
Then, he went ahead and hammered his fingers through the keyboard: "To all others except Chitwan, I need a team in the game to farm efficiently! Come over. Chitwan let's bet 1000 UC on it."

Maugus(The Preserver) was defeated by the other two members of the Supreme Gods Trinity in a war over faith by; Brom(The Creator) and Siva(The Destroyer). To save his life, he reincarnates as an Earthling.

Ahan, an aimless webnovel writer, finds out that he is the reincarnation of a god from another world. He has lost a war over faith, all of his believers killed and his territory and kingdom divided between the gods. On top of that, he now has to save his last believer, or face death.

As I stared at the two items I just got my eyes nearly popped out of my head. I mean I expected it to be good but I didn't think they'd go as far as epic. That's the fifth rarity rank going from common, uncommon, rare, unique, and then epic. A smile creeps onto my face as I think of everything I could do with this equipment, I can't wait to start playing tonight.

In the boundless night, in a shabby house stood Daruh.
He once was a player of << Endless >>, the first VRMMORPG in the world who was at the top for 15 years. Not your basic player who play for fun, he was the #1 of this game and was 'unkillable'.        But here we go, he lost everything on a war versus the top 10 guilds, not 1 ! But 7 of these in the same time ! 45M of players versus one and he almost soloed all. Almost ...
After his character got deleted because of the bet and was killed at his own house. After what seemed like years for Daruh he stood here, in his first house after having graduated from college. The house was small and only one person can live because there is only 2 rooms here. His bedroom and a kitchen, a table in the middle of the kitchen and it's filled, we can see how poor it was. Daruh who once owned almost everything in the world return with nothing except his small house.
It's been 2 month since his new life has started. << Endless >> starts today and he has been busy trying to create his path to become a new legends, Daruh has already bought his VR helmet with all he got from his parent. They are a normal couple who have a nice sum every month, they can't even care less of what Daruh become after he left the house for his college, only sending 1000$ a month without message or anything, after that when he first joined the college nobody wanted to be his friends because of his personality who is lazy and selfless of everything around him.
The last 2 month was boring for Daruh. He already know everything that have to be known in the college thanks to his 'Past Life'. Even the teacher was astounded by his performance in the last test where he got a perfect mark! Now everything his over, no friend or school to derange him when he play, he only have to eat and do physic exercise once in a while for health checks.

And this call was exactly the same! The only existence of this call was for money.

his name is Olif, although it's not sound like typical Asian name but his appearance is typical southeast Asian man. This man is unemployed who always stay in his room and playing online game. A typical "Shut In" and introvert who afraid of stranger.

He sick of the live of normal people who always full of deceit and hypocrite bastard. And flee from reality and vent on MMORPG called [King Sword Online] a typical MMORPG with only has North America server and Europe Server. Because he live in Southeast Asia country he can only play to this 2 server.

As solo player he always plays with his online friends he find in game.
As shameless who always scamming people in game for gold or top equipment in the game and some costume for his character. He always create a woman character with beautiful appearance and "Role Playing" as a coquettish women to scam a lonely nerd. Although he is skillful at playing the game and has talent in it, but his shameless behavior made people in the game call him "Illusive King". Even if someone know that he is man in the real world when he start talking with his headset, the Nerd still chase him because the beauty of his character.

Rumor says that he always spend half a day to create his character. Olif once spend his university in Art major. He has drawing as his hobby but drop out for some reason. Sometimes he start made artwork and upload it in some art website like "Japanese pixiv" but never take it seriously. Maybe that Art sense that make him skillful in creating beautiful character.

He addicted in MMORPG and start his "Shut In" life. Like a lost sheep in the vast prairie, he live a dull life in his small room. Today as usual he do some dungeon with his small party for some item. And try to get some legendary equipment for his level 70 character.

Sensing the danger, Panic stricken Olif throw the headset and running to exit the room. But the door didn't budge and lock him in this small room. Seeing smoke appearing in the computer, magma like heat appear in the computer and terrifying overheat machine like sound start changing like it will explode at any moment. The ancient languages thing in the computer screen start changing to alphabet.

Olif startled and back to his mind, he start thinking this fu**ing machine maybe some tool from advance civilization some alien developed or maybe the god joke and ridicule his miserable life, who knows… but he start feeling angry. And start roaring in his mind.

The white light suddenly enveloped the space and the surrounding area change to be in the small town square in small town around 200x200m area. The town look like a ghost town because you can't see people or living thing in the town, only a human with ordinary appearance and no sign of life stand in the middle of the town square silently. As though of something Olif start floating to this human. Surprisingly he see ordinary man that you can see in the street and you will forgot at the next moment. he sees a textbox panel beside the man and there is a lot of text and number seen in this panel.

"I must be crazy… isn't this character setting ?? and there is gender selection too, complete with the detail editing panel for appearance..
I cant take it anymore.. this situation really made me insane!!urghh"

Facing with this sudden situation made him feel lost at the moment, And almost breakdown.

"Fu*k this! I will treat it as a dream. Maybe I will wake up the next morning. This feeling of being a god to create a lifeform sure is weird..
But whatever let's treat it as the same when I create character in the game. But I don't want to be a woman, let me made a super handsome and baddas character. Yes.. is just a dream anyway… yes it should be..

Somewhere in place that have dense of trees there is a cave under the deep cliff. A man with a closed eyes and has peaceful feeling in him sit inside the cave. Like a person who tried to found the secret of the world. He suddenly opened his eyes, shocked filled his eyes. And he start murmuring.

"the river of destiny is changed, and this jungle will welcome a new king. Who could it be? the son of god? Or maybe demon who will destroy the peacefulness of all creature in the forest?"

The man stand up and exit the cave, looking to the stars in the night sky he said.

"oh almighty one… may your light bless and protect the son of the forest"

He stay silent for a moment, and back to enter the cave. A sigh can be heard echoing inside the cave.

Somewhere in the ancient castle made of stone. You can see this castle is being build roughly without the help of technology in it. But the majestic feeling can be felt.

She has innocent and big green eyes, with fluffy green hair and puffy cheek, she look extremely cute. She wear small magic robe that hide her petite body and holding some beautiful wooden staff that had some mysterious crystal in it. You can feel a chilling aura around her. Is not match with her cheerful personality

A beauty with white long slender legs and has slender body suddenly said calmly. She has pointy ear, her eyes like phoenix with blue pupil looking very enchanting. You can see unique engraving in the leather armor she wears. But the armor cannot hide her slender leg that can make people lost their soul for its beauty.

There is a small horn can be seen hidden behind her ears, it curved like crescent moon below her ears. She wears a dark black light armor with some devil engraving that made her mysterious. She is absolute beauty if she uncover her veil. Now she is looking at someone wearing a heavy armor and she had a small wing replacing her ears. A holy aura can be felt from her.

"master are you allright? Wait a minute I will heal you,[Lesser Heal]!!"

A beauty with silver eyes and has majestic, goddess like face suddenly said. Her voice is majestic and holy. With mace in her hand she wave it to the sky and a golden light start appearing in the sky, the golden halo suddenly appear above her head. The golden light pouring to Olif who just get up from being beaten by a woman. Its look like a goddess blessing to him.

The pain that he felt when he just wake up and the pain that he just got suddenly disappear its replaced with a pleasant and comfortable feeling from the light.

This made him dumbfounded. He stare to the beauty who has graceful like body around 1.7 meter that wearing heavy armor that has some majestic engraving and has shield behind her back, waving her mace to the sky with shock in his eyes. He murmur something.

It is getting boring you know, taking Siege and Conquer quest all day long. For me, little skirmish and small battle is more fun, PvP is fun too in early to middle level.
Well in my current account, I can't just stroll around in the city without someone show up and ask for PvP and Ranking Match. I know defeating me will give you huge amount of points, but at least give me a break, I can see peoples start to queue up behind you.

I pick human because human have the most balance stats and easier to leveled up. Human race also have wide variety of play style. It is sometime troublesome, if Elf have high stats in Agility and bow talent, I will stuck in bow fighting style and easily get bored, as simple as that. For human, although they are weak compared to other race, actually human race is the most op race in this game hehehe... It's because human have all round aptitude, human can use all type of weapons, of course as long is useable, without race penalty, human race also have good all round aptitude with magic, except Dark magic of course. Dark magic, Black magic or Dark Attribute magic have penalty of all of it user, but offer powerful and kind of bizarre effect.

In this game, the level of character detail you can design is fantastic. I must say, they really put good effort in this feature. I remember to spend hours just to design my character to become the absolute beauty. But for now, let's make it simple and decent, because I don't want my appearance look to shiny and ikemen-ish. I prefer a fair amount of game handsomeness, the world environment and little bit same with my actual self. Hey, I don't look that bad in real world ok, not so handsome but let say, I don't look bad.

And of course, many players troll around with bizarre, funny or weird stuff.

The game counted down with the scenery and damaged player card gradually disappearing as Yu Yi exited the game. The game's dark environment was replaced by a bright ceiling as he saw familiar surroundings.
He lifted his hand, clenched it, and then relaxed it. Reality and the virtual world were exactly the same. The only difference was that the level of pain was much lower in game after being wounded.
Yu Yi took off his glasses and tapped on the watch on his wrist. A dashboard appeared.

I was wondering why there's such a coincidence. Turns out it's the Shotgun Flying Kick reference. My appearance isn't that of a fish-man.
Yu Yi laid down on his bed after turning off his watch.
He didn't expect it to be Ending 2. The investigator had died without solving the case, which meant that he would only have half of his original reward. Not that there was much reward from a novice mission.
The big guy had a health value of 30 points. He took 4 points from the assault rifle and 24 points from the kick, leaving him with 2 points. This meant that if he took one more blow, Ending 4 could be established. It was a baffling chase without any drama or it could be the precursor to a series of missions. However, as an experienced Dog PC, Yu Yi was able to invent a 10,000-word long backstory even when there was no drama.
Yu Yi was about to close his eyes to rest, but his phone ignored his tiredness.
"Hey."
[Yu Yi, didn't we agree to enter the game? Why didn't you contact me?]
His friend chided him. Actually, he was more of a shitty KP than a friend. Obviously, Yu Yi had met a KP that was even more a Dog than him. That's right, it was the shitty KP operated by AI in the novice mission.
"I was fighting a novice mission. I was killed in one hit by someone with a knife, so I'm still readjusting my mood."
[Oh, that's understandable. When I first started, I was killed in one hit too haha. You rest well. Add me when you come online later.]
"OK."
He promised his friend before hanging up. His friend was a beta player and was miles better than Yu Yi, who was an amateur. At least, it was so experience wise.
After a short rest, Yu Yi put on his gaming glasses and turned on the watch.

As compared to allowing the system to create a character randomly, Yu Yi would rather design his own character. After all, with a luck value of 25, wasn't he guaranteed to die there?
The Indescribable Diary was Yu Yi's current username. This was a tabletop role playing game (TRPG) which relied on complete immersion, so that players could experience the game as though it was real. The Investigator would be the player himself, and did not require the KP's backstory invention. This included all events, including the monsters' spawns and special events.
Although his name was The Indescribable Diary, it was not limited to Call of Cthulhu, which in other words was the COC team. Players could choose the game mode, including Dragons and Dungeons, which was the DND team, or the Infinite Horror team, or even the Holy Grail team. As long as you can think of it, you could suggest it to the game system. If the suggestion was accepted, then you would quickly see the relevant modules.
Not only that, the script of the game was not fixed. Players could opt to choose scripts or leave it up to the system. However, the main point was that the script could either be written manually or generated arbitrarily by the system. However, the player writing the script would be forbidden to take anything for that particular script.
These were the advantages and highlights of the game. However, the game had downfalls as well - to be exact, it was card tearing.
Once the player's Investigator character dies, the card would be torn up unless the player used a special Ghoul Book, requested revival from the main God of the Infinite team, or prayed for it from the Holy Grail team. Once the character dies, then everything the character possessed, ranging from abilities and items, would disappear. To continue playing, a new character must be created. This character would possess nothing and was known as a whiteboard character. He would have no skill and no notable abilities. The only advantage was a high San value.
However, there would always be exceptions. For example, achievements and rewards would by default be recorded into the dashboard. No matter how many times the player dies or how many times the character's card is ripped up, the achievements and rewards would always exist. Subsequently, a new character could be established as related to the previous dead character, so at least some relations and items would be inherited.
Now, the new character card that Yu Yi was preparing would not inherit anything from the previous character. There was nothing much to inherit anyway.
"Now, time to create a card."
There were three chances to create a card, which meant that Yu Yi had three chances to change his attributes. The attributes were randomly assigned by the system the moment the card was generated.
As Yu Yi's voice fell, a character dashboard appeared.

Obviously, this was a character that looked good on paper but was actually abysmal in reality, especially for Yu Yi who liked to play the game in COC mode. Everything else was alright. Education 9 was fine, but damn, an Inspiration value of 85? He would die after any Inspiration play!

The dashboard before him switched immediately. The characteristics changed as well.

After Yu Yi's rejection, his last chance to change character was used. His dashboard reappeared and his character was created. It was his last chance anyway. It was a character so good looking that Yu Yi couldn't believe his eyes.

At least the eventual characteristics were not bad. Yu Yi agreed that that was better than cashing in money for new characteristics. The very reason he was playing this game was that he had no money to play Dungeon Fighter Online.
"I'll choose Police Detective as occupation. For the name… since the nationality is Huaxia, I'll choose… Never mind, give me a random name."
Immediately, the Investigator's name was confirmed.
After adjusting the other abilities, Yu Yi looked at his character card happily. It was just that the last characteristic that the system had randomly assigned was a bit annoying.

I could've stopped when they deleted their accounts online but I didn't. I went after bullies from all around the town. Once I couldn't find more bullies, I went after their friends. And then I moved on to strangers. I went after anyone and everyone.

It didn't matter what the topic was. It didn't matter whether I was right or wrong. I was living for the controversy, picking fights wherever and whenever.
