A5 : Steins gate. Probably the best anime ever made. It's great, there are many references to other anime and stuff. And when you realize that they made an anime out of basically only an internet joke called John Titor its really amazing.
The depth of the show is insane. Characters are unique. I love science. Voice actors on Okabe and Kurisu are perfect. Literally a perfect anime.

Happy April, Fools schmucks! Sorry I left on a cliffhanger, but I didn't have the time to finish the gym battle, so I guess I'll have to do this. This year in quite a decent 2021, I've wanted to show ditto a little more love and officially recognize it as one of my stories. To that effort, I've decided to officially explain the thought process that left me to create this story.





Fanfiction




Before I get into that, though, I guess I would need to discuss fanfiction. I'm pretty sure, like most people, I originally went into Wattpad with a negative view of it. However, my opinions have both evolved and stagnated at the same time. Overall, writing can't be in a box of restrictive rules, in my opinion. With a little reworking, nearly any concept, including fanfiction, can work. I think that Xzaviorwilliams Anime Tournament of Power taught me that the most. 




And I know that these fanfics can often be a jumping-off point for writers to furnish their craft on something else. Certain what if 's, au's, and like are legitimately cool to me once I've read them as well. Still, I think my biggest problem with fanfic is that it feels too biased in a sense. There are certain fanfics I read, and I swear I can hear the huffed breathes and clacking keys of the author as they scream over finally having their oc best their least favorite character or make sure their favorite couple who "totally" had enough chemistry to have the original story completely focus on them getting together *cough (every tv show now) cough* overall. In contrast, I've had many reservations and opinions of fanfic. I've always wanted to do it at least once, but in my way.




Development




So I've had a couple of ideas for fanfic. DBZ, MHA, and RWBY, I think, were the biggest contenders. However, Pokemon was the first. I got into the franchise during the old Diamond and Pearl Days, and to this day, it remains easily the peak of the anime for me. The battle between Ash and Paul in the Sinnoh League was one of my favorite battles in anime, and I wanted to replicate that experience for a whole series. Originally the basic idea was to have a group of trainers on a worldwide mission to beat what would eventually be what Apex is now. With over-the-top action, of course. People don't realize this, but Pokemon go crazy; you look at a Magikarp and think it's useless until you see it jump a mountain high (look it up). Get deep enough in Pokemon, and you'll see that these little mons are fucking gods of destruction that any ten-year-old can abuse as they want.




However, with my interest in the powerfully potent putty that is Ditto, I realized a story based on one gives many possibilities for crazy stuff. Shows like Ben 10 and webtoons like Urban Animal have taught me transformation is a great concept for both fights and characters. Combine that with a cute ditto fan comic on how it managed to raise a Charmander and the appearance of That time I got reincarnated as a slime, and the stage was set on making the ditto interact like a human. But the most important part I wanted to establish as this. I wanted this to be the biggest combination of honoring the source material while at the same time making this a story all my own. And trust me, it hasn't been remotely easy. Bulbapedia and Lord Arceus have now become my new religion.




What I mean is while Ditto will feature many Pokemon characters from both the anime and games, they will be used to fit the mold story in a way where I think is most accurate for the character. At the same time, I wanted to have original characters that would build themselves in the world and just tell a story off them; that way, I don't feel the need to be limited to other characters. This also means original concepts like Dark Evolution and something soon could get more traction, not to say that stuff like Dynamax, Mega Evolution, and Z moves won't have appearances though, in fact, think of my stuff as more innovative and creating on what came before in a unique way.




The best example of what I mean is usually my format. I narrate the chapters just like the narrator in every Pokemon anime episode while also having the chapter names based on the Pokedex entries from the games. I mentioned supplementary material like mystery dungeon as a game, and other regions besides the main eight will be making appearances, so don't worry. And of course, for the anime, I tried my best to replicate the funny strategies but streamlining the action by not mentioning many orders from the trainers. Overall with ditto, I'm trying to balance the usual Pokemon filler while still continuing Taylor and Kopi's stories, which has been rather challenging. 




When it comes to previously established characters, I made sure to make them older but still let them have some fun. Gardenia, for example, in the games, her personality mainly had to resort to liking grass types while being a kind person. So I decided to give her a far more fairy-like appearance to highlight her growing maturity. I also made sure to have her interest evolve into other trainers that show promise like Taylor so she can also have her views evovle. Her Pokemon, if you pay attention, also has a mixture of her roster of moves from both the anime and games, with her Cacena being the same one James from Team Rocket gave her in the anime. I haven't the best at including all these factors, but I hope that after this battle, I can do much better.




Overall, Ditto as a story has evolved leaps and bounds from where I started back in the summer of 2019, and I think now we are about to reach a new age of the story while also seeing the peak of Kopi's power. Because this story started as a joke but now has become something special. Kopi's story is one of trying to find an identity when everything in the world tells you different, to take note of your life, to find your place, to become better and more introspective to find that truth that should only serve you. He has by far the most power of any character I've written, but he still has no purpose alongside it. And unfortunately, he'll have to suffer far more before he can find that answer to his identity, as we all do when pushed to our limits. But it sure will be damn entertaining as we see what this little slimeball can do. Happy April fools day everybody, hope you had a fun time, and I hope you stick around for the chapters to come.

Ren Claude was the only child of his family and was an introverted boy, who had difficulty talking to others. He went to school normally, and tried his very best to fit in... But what he received from trying his best was ridicule, his classmates bully him because of his introverted nature, thinking he was fun to pick on because he never fought back. His other classmates would just watch as he is spit on, and kicked by the bullies.

His parents have complained a bunch of times, but every time they did so, the bullying simply got worse.  Ren was now scared of going to school, he didn't want to leave his room. That was when he found online games, anime, and manga. A world where he who was a coward, who could not talk to anyone but his parents was able to be someone that could do anything. He could be a vampire hunter, he could go to outer space to kill aliens, he could be a hero of light to beat the demon lord. Video games, anime, and manga gave Ren a world where he felt he could belong. 

Ren's character slowly changed as he found himself experiencing different worlds, he became somehow braver. After a period of time, Ren finally found the confidence to move forward. His parents especially his mother was delighted to see Ren come out of his room, after months of not coming out.  

When Ren came back for the next school year, he was still an introvert, but when the bullies attacked him something else happened. Ren who watched a bunch of anime, and absorbing what he saw, had somehow became a bit violent. So when the bullies tried to hurt him, he fought back, which had him suspended. 

His parents didn't know what to do anymore, so they tried homeschooling Ren. Turns out Ren was easy to teach and he understood the lessons quite quickly, even with his gaming addiction, he was still able to pass his G.E.D and got his diploma. 

That was the point when things turn for the worse, his parents wanted him to do something in his life, aside from gaming and watching anime. Still Ren had an irritation of the outside world, more specifically on other humans. 

The worlds inside his games, his novels, his anime where worlds that made him the hero of the story. It was a world that was somehow more fair to him than the real world. 

With his unwillingness to go outside and experience life, his parents felt disheartened. Ren's mother would always talk to him, about her own wonderful experiences, like when she got her first job, when she met his father, how she spent her youthful days like one of those characters in Ren's anime. 

Ren explained to his mother he could experience all that, within his room playing his games. He didn't like going outside as he couldn't understand other people. If he loses too much the people will think his a pushover, and if he wins too much he gets scolded and shunned by others.

When his mother heard Ren's reason as to why he didn't want to go outside, she started crying. She beg her son for forgiveness, for not being able to raise him properly. When Ren's father heard his wife crying and asking Ren for forgiveness, he punched Ren's face and started shouting.

"How dare you make your mother cry! You unfilial son, you even made her ask for forgiveness! Why don't you kneel down and ask us for forgiveness! We raised you up, we fed you, sheltered you, and only hope for the best for you! Not only do you do nothing to repay us, but you actually made your mother cry!" 

When Ren's father was about to hit him again, his mother tried to shield him. Ren's father realizing that he was about to hit his wife tried to stop his punch, but was unable to. The punch hit Ren's frail mother on her head, making her stagger and trip on the wires in Ren's room, losing her balance she tripped and hit the back of her head.

When his mother's head started bleeding, he heard his father screaming at him to call an ambulance.

Ren was confused and couldn't react on time, Ren then noticed that the surroundings got darker, he looked around and saw nothing but darkness. His father's voice started echoing in his head.

"Because of you, your mother never wakes, she sleeps in pain because of you." 

His father's face suddenly appeared in front of him and shouted. 

"Because of you..."

"RAGNA!"

Ragna was jolted awake, he saw Elise and Reki looking at him worriedly. He was cover in his own sweat. His breathing was heavy, he felt an extreme sadness attack him, he wanted to cry, but before he could do so he heard Elise's voice.

"Are you ok Big brother Ragna?" Ragna looked at the worried Elise. When he saw Elise's anxiety as well as Reki's, Ragna finally snapped out of his nightmare.  

Ragna started stabilizing his breathing before answering Elise. "Yeah I'm ok it was only a dream... No it was simply a nightmare nothing more."

This was the first time the girls saw Ragna so weak. What kind of nightmare could make such a monster sweat in fear? 

Elise and Reki hugged the shaking Ragna, and softly said "it's alright, we're here with you." When Ragna heard there voices he felt warm, it was the same warmth his mother had given him. Ragna wanted to cry even more now, but before he could do so, a familiar ring sounded in his head.

Hello, I no longer remember the name I used to use however what I do know was that I grew up fairly well.  My father left my mother before I was born but after some years he came back and from then on I went to see him every other weekend which was the best thing ever according to me as I got to play his console and eat all the stuff I wanted.  

Growing up I was quite an outgoing kid however as the times changed to become more technologically advanced everyone stopped playing, at least outside.  Consoles took over and most people started staying in and not coming out anymore so wanting to play with them I joined them and eventually became a shut in.  What cemented my lifestyle as a shut in though was my mothers death, I had just moved out and gotten my own apartment.  On the way to visit my apartment as I had forgotten to visit her as I had promised her she was run down by a car escaping from the cops.  I was worse after my mothers death, I was a shut in before but to escape the pain of her death I grew to become extremely apathetic to the point I thought that I could probably kill and not feel a damn thing therefore I threw myself into games to give myself some sort of gratification through the completion of the games and I mean completion, not just playing the main story and then moving on, I mean every little thing that could be done whether it be the little feathers or the treasure chests to collect in Assassins Creed II.  However it was only for an instant before I was already moving onto the next game.

I completed game after game and eventually gained the nickname 'Perfectionist' in the gaming community as it didn't matter which game I started I played it till completion or till I was number one on the leaderboard.  

The Assassins Creed series of games was what made me feel the best as it was one of those games where the difficulty was set and couldn't be changed so you either passed where you were or stay stuck, of course there are other games similar but they just didn't stick with me the same as Assassins Creed did.  It may be because it was my first game that I played like that or it could be that the storyline was what hooked me, could be both.  

Although Assassins Creed is my favourite game, and yes although I am dead and can no longer play it, it is still my favourite game however I hadn't played the complete series of the games as there were DLC's with mini-stories or just others made after Desmond's death that I just didn't like.  I played Black Flag (One of the only games I played that didn't have Desmond), that was good, but I didn't really play any other games after that.  Unity, Syndicate etc. were all Assassin's Creed I missed out on, I don't know if it was some sort of subconcious rejection to them due to Desmond not being in it but even when I had the money I didn't buy them.

The games made me feel better as in the sense of accomplishment as there was no difficulty setting, it was basically get through it or stay stuck where you are.  I know there were other games just like it, I don't know why but even then it was still my favourite.

Another favourite pass time for me was to read, especially cultivation and fan-fic novels.  Other than reading though I liked watching anime and reading manga.  Although I watched bits of anime and read bits of manga it was mostly mainstream stuff, some underground stuff that wasn't really discovered yet was extremely good. 

My favourite anime would have to be Naruto, although it wasn't for the main story itself that I liked it.  I liked it because Namikaze Minato the Yondaime was awesome using just the Flying Thunder God he made himself the name Yellow Flash of Konoha.  I also liked the anime because I felt drawn a certain character as well Mitarashi Anko, and before you say 'its probably her looks', you would only be half right as I also identified with her as she was constantly in pain yet hid it beneath a facade.  Yes, she was known to seek men out but who wouldn't seek out some relief for the pain.  I would have probably been the same if I had been the same outgoing person I was at a young age before my mother's death.

My love for the game went so far that for every halloween since the game was released I dressed as Altair, I even went to a couple comicons dressed as him in the black armour that you find as Ezio.  Speaking of comicons, it was on my way to comicon when I died.

I was visiting London for the MCM Comiccon, however I never made it as on my way there there was a terrorist attack.  Just as we were getting past the busiest streets a suicide bomber had jumped out detonated himself next to the bus.  Not so near that the bus also exploded but near enough that the bus would be hit by the blast and shrapnel from the bomb.  Normally I would have just protected myself and left the others to die in the fall out however in that moment in the corner of my eye I see a mother with her son curling behind her while she protects him as much as she can.  My perception of time slowed as I noticed a pieces of shrapnel flying towards the mother and son pair and I honestly don't know why or how I did what I did but before I knew it I was at the other end of the bus facing towards the duo and smiled whilst being pierced by the shrapnel.

There I am, lying with pieces of shrapnel within my body as I lay quietly accepting th darkness that slowly encroaches upon me with evry second I lose blood.  Although it was quite painful I kept that smile upon my face and said to the boy that was currently petrified behind his mother.

"Grow up strong and smart kid and you can protect others as I did you"

Finishing those words whatever was keeping that last bit of darkness from approaching disapearred.  Funny, isn't it.  Me, one of the most apathetic people on the planet yet I died with a smile on my face.  Maybe it was to comfort them as I fell down dying from the shrapnel or it could have been the sense of satisfaction I felt from doing something with myself for once.

Someone died and was reincarnated with the Assassins Creed System.  He remembers his past life yet doesn't know his name or the name of those he once knew. 

All he knows was that he was a shut in who became apathetic to the world and his favourite game of all time was assassins creed.

Reborn in a world he knows as Naruto, will he change the future or go with the flow?
