My small office was at the top of my company building. I was the CEO,  so only a few were authorised to be in there. Myself and a few close friends and workers. One of them was Mary. A real haphazard and comic woman. My haphazard and comic best friend. We've known each other for so long. Mary's the one I kissed first, pranked others with the most, and had fun the most with. And I kept around with me, by my side. She helped create my empire. We were good, and wealthy. We were at the top. And it was the end of our teen era. We started to have lunch between walls. More precisely, in my office. And She would always bring her homemade food for me to test. And hella it was fucking spicy. But it kinda felt weird the last time. It was more sweet than the past times. It was tasty. But I couldn't have know all of their plan. Their plan to kill me. I couldn't notice anything because she kept the mask on, led me to believe fucking lies. And our last lunch in her office went like this.


"(Mary, Before the apocalypse)..Fifi, I'm starting to get bored of Rasta. I know he's my man but he sweats too much....And I hate that. I mean I know how to stay clean and fresh. But he sweats too much. I think I'll stop dating him."


"(Farrae, Before the apocalypse)...Are you sure ? You just met a week ago. Things are getting on slowly..Try to talk things out for the best of you too."


"(Mary)...Best for whom ? Because as a matter of fact, I am selfish..Stop talking fake, Fifi. You know I have a hard time letting man get to me. I muat really be blind to love them back..you know..."

"(Farrae)..So direct !! Hahaha[Laughing]...But I understand. Then, follow youe heart and quit him."

"(Mary)..Yup ! So how's the the fried chicken I made..?"

"(Farrae)..Spicy as always, girl. But with time, I'm starting to like it. Great job, Mary."

One month before the graduation, Ansel spent the rest of his time by having a new hobby, reading web novels. He was fond of reading, only non-fiction, but then he found out a fiction online that somehow answers some of his questions that he had months ago. Ansel now had to binge read stuff that correlated with his life.

They waited on a train station, Ansel, with his new hobby, scrolled his phone, reading. He didn't care about the surrounding. A crowd that brought luggage and big bags shoved out from the arrival door. Some meet their family or their friends; some were rummaging their phone ordered a taxi. The hum of a diesel machine filled the atmosphere of the place.

"It's quite strange that you changed a lot, after the crazy dream. Years ago, I offered you to go to the comic market, but you refused. And now?"

"So, that place is where a bunch of nerds socialize and have their fun?"

"No! It's hard to explain it to a normie like you!" Brian scratched his head. "It's not just nerd fest, some creators, artist; they made something to be sold there."

"And the reason that I should care is?"

"Raven, your crush went there, as a contributor?"

Ansel's face flushed red. "It's Maven. I know I know that I was asked to accompany her, that's it."

"Whoa whoa~ you know, you could 'propose' her when she was in the crowd."

"NO! If she rejects me, my life would be a joke again! She's a writer; probably another writer has an eye for her, write A+ poetry. Me? My thesis was trash. I wonder why Mr. Sigmund just nods and accept it."

Brian laughed, he patted Ansel's shoulder and said, "small talks would be fine. Besides, your crazy dream meeting a deity that could twist a time was a good point to make her … interested?"

It was a coincidence when Ansel found out about her. When he blurted out his crazy dream online, she gave him a link to a story. It was one of the top-notch web novels. Chronos was an antagonist, much to his surprise, he followed the story. The girl was so enthusiastic about her writings; day and night she kept talking about it. Ansel offered help to be her beta reader.

He was quite pissed off knowing that Chronos was an antagonist, and so he asked for the story to change. The reader liked what he advised, and then the story's rank rocketed into the first rank.

The relationship got closer; Ansel had a chance to get her real contact for the sake of knowing her. She was a cutie pie, shoulder length jet black hair, big eyes, small lip and nose. Ansel sometimes imagined her wearing a Lolita dress. There goes his fantasy.

She asked him to accompany her to an annual comic market in Jakarta. This was her first experience and the best moment for her to contribute to the event. Ansel said yes.

"Well, if I keep telling her about it, and when she finished, the relationship will be boring." Ansel pouted, "Best to know about her other side by this, even though this comic market stuff was not my thing."

Brian disappointed, "thought you were enthusiastic for it."

"I—"

"Ansel Cakara? Where's that guy?" a man called him from distance.

Ansel searched for it, he looked at the entrance. A small girl with small luggage and brown sling bag searched for someone. Beside her, her father in a brown jacket brought a bag of food. Ansel tiptoed. It was her, Maven. Ansel waved at her. Maven ran to him, she was swallowed by the crowd, perks of being tiny. Lucky, her father takes her to them.

"She's so small, like your sister," said Brian

"Ah! Sorry, traffic was hell, let's get for the tickets. Bye pa," Maven kissed her father's hand.

"Take care!"

Their cargo was the last one, it was spacious. Lucky it was not peak season. A few people filled it. The tail of the train was one cargo away. The diesel hum, creaking sound of wooden ramps, and a soothing wind were their companions in the travel.

Maven decided to sit alone on the right side, near the window. She put on her earphone.

"You missed the chance~"

"Shut up."

A young couple entered the cargo. The man was tall and skinny, he has tan complexion, his hair was neatly combed. The girl has a curvy body, which could make a sane male eyed on her. A fair lady more than a girl, the girl startled Maven.

"Ey Meg! I don't know you're going too!"

"Course I have to go there! Fan sign session!"

Brian leans to Ansel, "Oh boy, famous cosplayer, Puffy-chan. I'm too shy to greet her."

"Don't be a creep," Ansel whispered.

"I should've gone with you." Maven said.

"Uh, I … stayed at my boyfriend's house."

Brian eyes widened, "man, I wonder what will they—"

"Shhh!" Ansel hit Brian's head

"Those two? Your companion?" Meg asked.

"Yup," Maven walked to them, she pointed to Ansel, "the red jacket, Ansel. The big guy, Brian."

"Ansel? Oh~"

There was a murmur, mostly girl's talk, sometimes giggling. The girl's talk was about love, sometimes Maven blushed and shook her head. Ansel looked at her, Gosh, he blushed again. Ansel looked away at the window, ignored them.

From behind them, Meg's boyfriend stood beside Brian, "Hello there."

Brian jerked, "You creep me!"

He smiled, "that's my ability, sneaking. My name's Lintang."

"Ansel."

"Brian."

"I heard that. Anyway, first time going to the comic market?"

"I'm not, been there twice, he is," Brian pointed at Ansel.

"Mine's first time, lucky I got my baby brought," Lintang opened his jacket, a camera dangling. "I'm a part-time photographer."

"Nice, I want to learn about photography but I don't know where to start," Ansel said.

"Well, I could explain a lot of it. But start from something simple, something that you like to capture."

"Yeah, you could take a snap of my motorcycle!" Brian suggested.

Ansel spat, "freakin showoff."

"Interested in Itasha?" Lintang asked.

"Used to," Brian scratched his head, "but my father got mad, he said don't put Barbie sticker on your motorcycle. It's not Barbie, it's my waifu, Asuka Langley Soryuu! Anta baka!"

"More like belong to trash," Ansel sneered.

"One more and I kicked you from this train!"

Lintang wheezed, "My parents also mad when I tried to photo some cosplayers, thinking that I collected some girl photos for dirty stuff, but now," he tipped his head to Meg. "I want to make them understand I don't have that kind of fetish."

"Good luck, parents are hard to deal with especially with 'love' stuff." Ansel retorted.

"Well about Mega they already buy it. But they still didn't accept the reality that I just do photography for pocket money."

"Lucky you, my parents forbid me from any hobbies since my dad smashed my stuff…" Ansel recollected the piece of his memories, some of them happened on the other side of his life, a side where he would pass if things were not fixed. "I forgot when."

"I never heard about that." Brian twitched his eyebrows, "or have I forgotten?"

Ansel bit his lip, he was lost at words, and he couldn't brush them off by telling that the event once happened in another timeline. He has to lie. "Somewhere in junior high, I just remembered that."

"Oh man, that was harsh," Lintang closed the jacket and put his camera inside.

Brian bought the lie. "At least now you could do anything freely."

"Dear passengers, we're about to stop for fifteen minutes in the nearby station. If you wished to depart, please prepare in fifteen minutes. Thank you."

"Finally, stop to smoke," Lintang uttered.

"Smoking? Again? Not under my watch," Meg curled her arms to his neck.

Lintang coughed, "Yes, fair maiden."

One person entered the cargo. The sound of their footstep made Ansel frightened, a sharp tap of a high heel. He was still traumatic about that event. Took a deep breath, reset the mind, Ansel thought it was a different person. And it is.

The woman wore black latex long coat, her hair was golden white but covered by the coat. A pair of sunglass with golden frame adorned her oval face. Ansel shifted his position slowly, Brian noticed, they looked at the woman.

"Whoever wore a high heels boots on a train? I don't understand fashion." Brian raised his eyebrow.

Ansel focused on the feet, high heel boots, with dark purple rose as a decoration, so flashy. She could steal pickpocket attention.

"She might miss her plane and opt for the train? Maybe her relatives passed away so soon so she has to be like that?" Maven speculated.

"As expected from a writer," Brian added. "What do you think Ansel?"

Ansel awkwardly sat on his position, "uh what?"

"You ever saw her on your dream?" Maven asked.

Ansel sat beside Maven, leaned on her and whispered. "Yes, Chronos enemy."

You promised that I would never see her again, damn you Chronos.

Maven took a deep breath, "maybe your brain rigged up some childhood trauma."

How am I going to say that it was not childhood trauma? It will happen or would happen? I couldn't say it was my past, but it was.

"Psychology stuff," Ansel stared at empty space. "I can't remember the past vividly, so, yeah maybe."

Dammit, Chronos please help me. I don't know how people in another dimension pray for your help.

"Dear passenger, we're about to leave the station, please sit on your seat."

Should I leave the train? I don't want to be her slave.

Loud long whistle from train alarmed him. Meg and Lintang entered the cargo.

But what about my friends?

The train slightly moved.

How do I explain to them?

Ansel's heart beating fast, faster than the train itself. Cold sweat ran through his body. His vision blurred.

"You okay?" Maven touched Ansel's cheek.

White, Ansel stared at the lamp. He almost lost his consciousness. Blue speckles, then green, filled his eyes. His eyes stuffed up. Darkness.

"Are you okay?" it was a warm voice. A soft hand reached for him. "Tea, as you please."

Ansel opened his eyes, still white. He raised his upper body; slowly he could hear the hum of diesel. His sight gradually better, all of his friends, including the stewardess surrounded him.

"I—" Ansel took the tea from the stewardess, "thank you." He sipped the tea, and then put it on a small table beside.

"Road Sick, glad you got better."

Ansel slightly nodded. The stewardess left them. Maven patted Ansel's shoulder.

"You should've taken some fresh air with Lintang," she said.

"I don't have asthma. It's just strange."

"You haven't eaten from the morning? Here's food," Lintang gave him warm soup.

"Thanks…" Ansel opened the lid of the soup. Warm chicken soup with dumplings has woken Ansel's appetite.

"So, you fainted for no reason?" Maven asked.

"It's actually…" Ansel peeked; the woman was not there, not her luggage too. "Panic attack?"

"Panic attack?" Maven raised her eyebrows, "my parents are doctors, and mostly the fainted patients are the ones who have severe motion sickness, blood loss, and no oxygen went to their brain."

Ansel took a deep breath, "Can I have time, with you alone?"

"Sure."

Both of them went to restaurant cargo. It was spacious, the scent of warmed microwave food filled the air. Stewardess went back and forth from one cargo to another to bring the food. Ansel and Maven sat on a bench on the corner of cargo, looking side by side.

"You know that woman? Black coat?"

"She moved to another cargo, her seat was actually behind Mega. What's wrong with her?"

"I don't feel a good vibe. And I was scared. Do you know Chronos? The stuff that I told you? Everything was real."

"You came back from the future by his help so that you won't see the apocalypse bringer? And you were so frustrated that he won't help you?"

"Yes! She could probably start an apocalypse on this train!" Ansel leaned to Maven, he whispered with rage.

"Listen. She is a good person. You must have lost your mind."

"But you said you believe in me!"

Maven stared sharply at Ansel, "I know. I had that. I met both of them. It was real, but please, don't be afraid of it. We don't know exactly when apocalypse going to be. Chronos could be lying."

"You met him?"

"I had. The story that I made was real, I met them, both. That's why I kept talking to you, for reference and for therapy. It's hard when no one believed in you."

"So, the beginning of the story was actually real?"

"Yes. But after that, some parts are altered; I don't want him to hunt me down."

"Tell me what actually happened next."

Chapter 1
Trevor:
Sunlight Town
Location: His House
June, 25th, 2025
4:35 PM
I tap rapidly on my controller, staring at the screen. "C'mon! C'mon!" I say desperately. "Anthony, flank them and pop a grenade!" I say in the mic. "Sure thing!" Anthony says back, until all of a sudden, the power goes out. "Uh oh." I say. I turn on my emergency lamp AKA just a regular lamp. Everything comes to sight around me, "Anthony?" I say on the microphone. "Can you hear me?" I say again. I get nothing for an answer, what's the hold up? I thought to myself, I open my door and walk out going to my basement. Which holds the power stuff, "Here goes nothing," I say. "RAHHHHH!" I yell and bash through the door. "Phew, thought I would see something like a monster." I get towards the power circuit and open it up, I look inside and look at it. "I'm no Guinness but I think this is on switch." I flip up the lever and the power turns back on. "Okay, back to gaming." I say then stepping out of the basement, and slamming the door behind me.
 I then hear something on the tv in the living room, "What's this?" I say, then jumping onto the couch John Cena style. I whip my head to the tv screen and it says something like this: "WARNING, WARNING. DANGEROUS AND CONTAGIOUS DISEASE IN SUNLIGHT TOWN. STAY INSIDE YOUR HOMES UNTIL FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS." The tv says. "Weird." I say, I go to my door and put my hand on the handle. "I think this is some prank show-" BASH The door topples down and zombies fill the living room "AGH! ZOMBIES!" I yell, I quickly run up stairs and grab stuff inside my room, "Uhh." I spot some Cherry bombs, the ones where they are as loud as a videogame shotgun sound at full volume. 
I grab them and head up to the attic, I fold down the ladder and climb up, "Zombies don't know how to climb ladders? Right?" I say to myself, I see a hand grip the corner of the wall. "OH FISH STICKS!" I yell then scrambling up to the attic, I look around and find a lantern, "Yes!" I say with my hands up in the air like I just won some world championship sport trophy thingy, I grab the lantern and turn it on, "Hmmmm." I say then looking around, I find my dad's baseball bat. "Rad!" I say, then grabbing the bat, I spot some nails and a hammer, I grab the box of nails and rip it open, I then grab the hammer and place the bat on some cardboard boxes. I start hammering in some nails near the edge of the bat. I finish up and grab black electrical tape, then wrapping it around the baseball bat handle. I rip off the electrical tape and stuff it in my pocket. I grab my old backpack which has a huge hole in it. I take out my electrical tape and tape it up. "Hot dog. Now this is what I'm talking about." I take some canned food and bottled water, shoving them into my old backpack. I see something at the corner of my eye, "Yes! My old satchel!" I raise it up in the air and put it on. It is all worn and torn, the buckle is a bit rusty, but that's okay. I then grab a hat and put it on, then taking a coat and bandana, I put on the coat and put the bandana to my neck for warmth, it feels like a scarf. In fact, I put it on my mouth. I hear banging on the door of the attic, "That's my que." I say, then jumping over boxes. I spot a mirror and look at myself, I look like some tough guy waste lander, I find some bandages and wrap them around my hands which work as boxing gloves, I grab some other gloves just in case I need it, I then feel a sharp pain on my right thigh, "Ooh!" I say holding it. I wrap it up in my bandages and stuff it into my backpack, then also take my cherry bombs and electrical tape and put them inside my backpack. I then find a rusty bayonet knife my grandpa found in a forest when he was 28 or 38. I take its sheath and also wrap electrical tape around the handle. I finally finish everything, and pack anything else useful, I find a coin purse full of coins and some dollar change. I stuff it into my satchel and then, Crick! Crack! BASH
! The attic door opens and zombies pile out. I jump to my zipline and ride it out of my attic window. "Beat that brain dead zombie!" I say behind me, rain pours everywhere basically polishing the streets. "Wait!" I single handedly took out my backpack searching for my radio scanner and walkie-talkie. I find them there. "Phew." I say, then pulling down my bandana and holding my backpack in my mouth and zip it up, I snatch my backpack from my mouth and slip it on. My mind plays some soundtrack instrumental apocalypse music. It feels like the start of the walking dead, just a kids story instead. I finally reach the end of the zipline and I appear in front of the comic book store, my favorite store, which also is half grocery store. I swing open the door with my left hand and take out my bat, resting it on my right shoulder. "Anybody here?" I say I get no answer in exchange, what a waste of words, I think in my mind, but not really a waste. I then find all of the food is fresh. "Good." I say then scraping some empty metal shelves. I quickly board up the doors with scrap and the windows. I grab my metal cutter and cut out a rectangle inside, I glue on a little handle on the rectangle and slip it back in, I also grab some super hero action figure gears and make some sort of open and close peep hole, but it's a rectangle.
 I see the rain pour and zombies moan, groan, and limp past the comic book/grocery store. I close the rectangle peep hole, "Hm." I find a little corner and grab a yard shovel plus a pickaxe. I grab the pickaxe and start to smash open the floor tiles. The floor tiles are gone and are big enough to make a hole where I can walk down. I toss the pickaxe aside and start digging, "Nobody said surviving a zombie apocalypse would be easy." I say to myself. 
8 HOURS LATER…
I finally finish and walk inside my little cave. I unpack everything there, I even bring with me a rolling shelf which could hold my food and water. I put it to the wall of the dirt and put all of my water and food there, I also take out my radio scanner and walkie, I set them down and take out my cherry bombs and bandages. I put them on the shelf which holds even more food and a couple jugs of water. I grab a water bottle and open it up, then pull down my bandana and gulp the water down. I chug half of it and put the cap back on. I put it on my desks which I fished out of the manager's office, I also sat down on the managers chair, it was SOOO comfy. I sighed until my radio scanner turned on to pick up a voice that I didn't know. It says: "THIS IS OUR FIRST BROADCAST OF THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, WE WILL BROADCAST LATER AT 7 AM SHARP. WE LIVE AT THE SUNLIGHT TOWN BULLDOG MIDDLE SCHOOL, ALL ARE WELCOME…" The broadcast ends and I look outside, it sure is dark, good thing I packed my camping sleeping bag. I roll out my sleeping bag which has a pillow built in. I then hear some steps at the front door, "Trevor?"

When a full blown zombie apocalypse breaks out, Friends Anthony and Trevor have to fight monsters and zombies of all shapes and sizes. will they survive the apocalypse? or will they die trying?

30 Minutes till zombie attack. 
Tiro was tired. School sucked. And he didn't want to keep doing it. He had 45 minutes until class was over. He raised his hand, "Can I use the restroom please!" He asked politely.  "Sure." The teacher replied. He got up and walked to the bathroom.

Tiro was sitting on the toilet without using it. He was just chatting with his friend on discord. 'Did you hear max labs was right on the target and made a zombie virus. They are keeping in contamination until the government shows up' Dufary texted. 'oH NO a ZOmBiE aPOcALypsE' Tiro texted back.
He snorted. Zombies. That's a thing of science fiction. He thought about it for a second, before getting up.

As Tiro was on his way to class, he heard knocks on the front entrance. He walked over expecting to see a kid either late or just got locked out. What he saw shocked him, about 15 feet away he looked at the person at the door. He stopped. The person's skin was rotting. A zombie. He winced at his text to his friend. They were here. and he was in trouble.

Tiro is surviving the zombie apocalypse. Until he finds the scientist that started it all. Tiro now has the only cure, but it's only enough to cure two people. Tiro needs to find a way to survive. and get the cure to the rest of the world at the same time.

Zhao Youyue was no janitor. She just wanted Su Li to take up Master PhD's" Endless Apocalypse "comic. Of course, this was assuming that Su Li was willing and confident, and that Master PhD was willing to give her the part. The offer has to be rock-solid.
Zhao Youyue, of course, was biased toward her "wife," Su Li. She would most definitely throw Su Li into bad waters. That's how you temper a rough rock. She only wanted Su Li to be famous.
Su Li had full faith in Lady Zhao's opinion. She was convinced that Lady Zhao and her were both in the heat of love. Of course, Lady Zhao's word was the final decision. Admittedly, "Endless Apocalypse" had the versatility to adapt to the most radical of plot twists. It had great potential. As long as it sold like hot-cakes, it could be harvested for money and glory.
Su Li's faith in Zhao Youyue's taste only grew stronger. Lady Zhao was perfect in every way. If she had such a lover, why would she need any other man?
Master PhD would honor Lady Zhao's request. She had to. She was more than pleased to pass her work to the top comic-god Su Li, not only because two great minds made great work, but also because she knew of Su Li's magical powers, and her amazing angles. The" The Strongest King " had won a lot of good reviews. In particular, its combat scenes garnered a mountain-load of praise. 
She could almost taste her freedom. With Su Li as the divine scapegoat, she could write as she wanted. She could erase any character that did not make her cut and put the blame on Su Li. What a perfect plan!
Hence, following Zhao Youyue's direction, the Master PhD's pen and Su Li's brush, the three of them reached an agreement. Master PhD would retain full ownership. She was no newbie in this industry, she never gave off full copyrights so easily. Neither was she one of the authors desperate for money, so she read through the papers at leisure. 
As for authors who needed the income to support their living, they would carefully nurse their readers like a bubble in their hands. They would kneel and worship supreme donors like Zhao Youyue. Not only would they write according to these super donor's preferred flavors, they could even throw cameos into their stories just to praise these super donors. There was no place too low for their ego, as long as their pockets were lined.
Master PhD was the type who went all in. She felt that Chu Xuan would be better as a male character. So as it were, Chu Xuan was still a male character, despite her promise to Lady Zhao. 
As she wrote according to her emotions, the more she liked a subject, the better she wrote it. She never doubted her sanity whenever she caused "accidents" in her plots. She wanted to write, and she wanted to write freely. Nobody could stop her!
Master PhD signed the agreement happily. She was very grateful to Lady Zhao, who had helped conjugate this. Hence, she welcomed more suggestions from the Lady. If she could help "Chu Xuan" end up as an icon, that would be splendid!
Zhao Youyue put a demure smile on her face, laughing like a maniac in her heart. She took the guise of a curious child and asked, " Dr. Chen, it seems that several readers were interested in the beauty scientist Zhang Yanwei, as I am. So, you've clearly established her as a villain, but what is her purpose, was this character relevant during your draft, and what would happen to the members of the infinite team?"
When Master PhD heard the question, she smiled mysteriously, saying that nobody is going to believe her answer to that. She absolutely did not see this coming. She did not even entertain the slightest thought of making Zhang Yanwei a key figure of her plot. But when she started writing the name Zhang Yanwei, her hands no longer seemed to be under her control. Somehow, something had drawn her into her own novel, and something mysterious was pushing her in a direction she could not see, down a path of which its end she could not determine. From thereon, she went wild with Zhang Yanwei.
She did not realize that Zhang Yanwei had developed a soul of her own, and that her life experiences were so real, as if she had been living in this world for a full 36-years. Even Master PhD was surprised at how this Zhang Yanwei had amassed her powers as the world's top scientist.
Of course, Master PhD was puzzled. She began to wonder how that inception had even come to be, but soon accepted it as the will of God. The inspiration came, she could not stop it, so she went with the flow. As she allowed the character to act by herself, she polished the rough edges with her pen.
As long as the creators felt the rush, the writing would never be too bulky and harsh. When they finally lean back and survey their work, they would feel a sense of accomplishment like never before. 
"I really look forward to writing it just the way I want, because Lady Zhao, you know, I write things, I don't like to write outlines at all, because I firmly believe that the outline would just constrain me in the end. I write according to how I feel. As I write, words that I never imagined would show up, and my own characters, my own plot twists would end up giving me the greatest surprises. Admittedly, when I wrote about Zhang Yanwei, that blew all other things out of proportion." I never thought that I would produce such a female character," Master PhD said haltingly, as if she was having trouble organizing her thoughts.
Master PhD was the type who allowed her feelings to rule her. Even if Zhao Youyue did not do anything to the novel, she would end up writing twists that she never saw coming. Now that she had the rush in her head to write something different, she accepted her story as it was. She was looking forward to the next wave of creative inspiration, and she had to take advantage of it. It would be a waste not to utilize it.
Zhao Youyue listened to all that Master PhD had to say. Her smile became more sincere than before. This author was a slave to her intuition. All was good!


An introverted girl has had enough of the isolation inadvertently formed by her solitary nature. Things changed when she discovers that she has the ability to transverse across the fabric of our universe into the dimensions of multiple storylines. Not only do these storylines leave her with invaluable lessons - they also impart a portion of their power - if she is deserving of it. The time has come for Zhao Youyue to change her fate. Never again, will she remain as a Side-Character!

The Mayans were wrong about 2012 or so we thought. When the world kept rotating humanity had a great laugh, made a few corny Hollywood hits and went on throughout their daily lives. 
However, there was always a sign telling humanity it was coming, we constantly fantasized about an apocalypse to the point that we no longer feared it. Some of the looneys actually welcomed the thought with open arms. Preppers bought their land and learned to make and store their own resources with the intent of holding out. Under or above ground, it didn't matter. There was no copy and paste survival plan, everyone had their own theories and only some of them were close to the truth.
Most of these people were either considered living in fear or crazy, of course they don't seem as crazy now with the world falling apart compared to those who were just the month before trying to out show their neighbor with expensive holiday decor. 
The elite were the worst of them all, they were the quiet believers. While channeling secret funds to their luxurious bunkers they even pushed the norm on the rest of the world so that they could be prepared for their escape but not startle the daily hustle and bustle that paid for it. 
Too bad for them, no one expected this, as if the asteroid was called from earth herself no man was safe. No amount of money nor skill could change their odds; there was a disease within us, a dormant one that resided in our genetics. 
While the world masked up and overused the hand sanitizer because of a virus that they thought was spreading like wildfire. We had no idea it was only the asteroid getting closer. Though mankind is a striving species to a fault, relying on science yet again, another miracle vaccine was created just in time for Christmas.  
The "ARK" vaccine, what it was called at the time, now the remaining world calls it the 40 vaccine. For irony purposes of course if you know the Christian story, it's terrible we know but shedding a small amount of dark humor goes a long way nowadays. If you're lucky it can even gain you a can of green beans, (I'm so sick of the green beans.) But it's also called this because it took at least forty hours after the asteroid passed for things to really start to change.
Then we found out that the ARK vaccine was not strong enough to fully withstand the effects of the asteroid. While millions who were un-vaccinated slowly lost their ability to breath and passed on, the vaccine did keep many more millions from fully reaching death's door. Usually this would be a good thing if it weren't 2021. The vaccine carried the undesirable genetic disease within so even if you didn't carry it before, you do now and you were affected by the asteroid. 
Turns out the side effects for those vaccinated was a less than appealing mutation, spastic high pitched screaming that almost only dogs could hear and a uncontrollable bite. Just bite though, we don't think they actually eat people but then I don't think anyone is sick enough to stand by and watch. 
But hey, at least they are not dead… Says no one.
Don't get me wrong, I mourn those who lost their lives after the first of January but in my own way. Because I have been too busy just trying to stay alive, imagine that in an apocalypse, there is no time to stop and smell the roses. 
You see, I'm from a small area and I didn't see the point in getting vaccinated when I almost never left my house. I had a nice one bedroom apartment where I worked and paid my bills from. I tested video games, wrote reviews, and slept all day for a living. It was great, I loved my life. I was a threat to no one in the spread of this virus even if I caught it, which I couldn't because I didn't carry it at all in my genetics but that's besides the point now. 
My friends however, they either vaccinated up or claimed to have already had the virus once so they were golden because they were not going to miss the biggest event to kick off the new year. Since all the comic-cons were cancelled throughout the year due to the virus, now that the vaccine was out, they were doing a large new year celebration. Bringing out all the big guns for all the gaming and cosplayers delights in one place, it was going to be like Christmas... I bet you already guessed where, yep New York and not too far from Times Square. 
 Needless to say, I was convinced by multiple friends to go along. They mostly tempted me with the presence of a beautiful girl. She was a fellow gamer/ reviewer who never showed her true identity. She promised she would partake in this room-share with the small group I was friends with online. I'll admit, it was easy to get me out of my nice small apartment for new years after I received a message from her questioning if I would go. 
I had quite the crush on her even though I knew nothing about her real life. I just couldn't get this girl out of my mind and it wasn't because I was shy with women in real life nor, in my opinion, unattractive. But I really liked this girl, we got along like old friends when we talked in the private discord group and I enjoyed when we played online together. We were really compatible on a team and I was anxious to meet her in person and my friends knew this. 
So I flew to New York, found out it was 8 players in a one room with not enough beds, oh it was a blast. Except comic-cons don't last only one night so once people began to get sick, the small room arrangement became the worst possible nightmare I could have ever imagined. 
Eight players rented a room and only- Wait I'm getting ahead of myself, so allow me to share my story from the first day when the earth began cleansing itself of mankind.

It's 2021, either the epigraphers were dyslexic or the inscriber was... Either way humanity wasn't prepared for what was to come after the asteroid slowly rotated around the earth for 24 hours. 

A young video game blogger (Matt Brown) finds himself in the middle of the most populated area of New York during the New Year's celebration. When a slow moving asteroid counts down the clock with the ball as it fly's over head. It leaves behind a trail of death and destruction. Matt must find a way back to get out of the city and stay alive.
