" Ugh! Babe, there's so much shit going on right now it's ridiculous."

Kai said as he sat down next to Donna.

Donna leaned over, wrapping her arms around his neck, and kissed him on the cheek.

" Wanna, talk about it?"

Donna asked the man.

" Well, first we lost Artemis, then the reach kidnapped children, thankfully we managed to save them. Then I had to fight an intergalatic warlord named despero. And now turns out there's another scarab on earth and he's attached to a Martian."

Kai gave the woman the rundown of the past events.

" Yeah, honey that is a lot. But that's what being a hero is. It's not all about what you see on Tv. You'll get us through it. I know you will."

Donna said to the man as she kissed him again.

Kai smiled and hugged his wife tightly.

" Ugh!"

Kai sighed depressingly.

" Is it time for you to go?"

Donna asked sadly.

" Yeah, love. It is."

Kai said to the woman.

" I guess, I'll see you tonight."

Donna said as she got off the man's lap.

" Donna."

Kai called out to the woman as he got to his feet. He grabbed the woman by her wrist and pulled her back into his arms.

" Look, I know this is rough. With the leagues members mostly reduced, we're having to pull overtime. But I promise when this is all over. We can spend more time together. I promise, we'll be a proper family."

Kai said to the woman.

" I know, Kai. I believe you. I just... I miss having you around. The house feels so empty without you."

Donna said to the man.

Kai lifted her chin up so; he could look into her eyes.

" Donna, my love. I promise you. I swear it on my life. We will get through this. And when we do, if you want, I will hang up the cape."

Kai said to the woman as he held her face in his hands.

" Kai, you don't have to do that."

Donna said to the man.

" No, Donna. I want you to think about it seriously. If you want it to be done. Say it. My love for you is more important than being a hero is. Dick's around and so are Connor and Megan. They can run the team. Cassie's already proven herself to be a reliable member and the others are getting along just as well. They don't need me anymore."

Kai explained to the woman.

Donna looked up at her husband, tears in her eyes and kissed him softly.

" I'll think about it. But don't think you have to give it up for me."

Donna said to the man.

" I love Kai."

Donna said as she wiped her tears.

" And I love you, Donna."

Kai kissed the woman one more time before turning to leave the house.

Kai turned on his earpiece as he flew towards the team's new base only to then receive an immediate request for help.

" Lagoon boy to team. We're under attack at the chicago zeta location."

Lagoon boy radioed.

" We're on our way!"

Nightwing replied.

" I'm close by I'm on the way kid on hold."

Kai radioed back as he flew towards Lagoon boy's fight.

' What kind of way to start the day is this?'

Kai asked himself as he flew to help

Kai picked up the speed and rushed to Help, but when he arrived at the Chicago Zeta-tube it was on fire and Lagoon boy was out.

Nightwing and Superboy arrived as well.

" Sentry! What happened?"

Nightwing asked as he ran through the portal.

" We were too late. Lagaan's down. We need to get him to a hospital."

Kai said as he picked the boy up.

" But what happened? Did you see who was here?"

Connor asked.

" No, but Lagaan did. Let's go."

Kai said as he entered the Zeta-tube.

Kai and the others took Lagaan to the nearest Hospital where he woke angrily.

" Neptune's beard let go of me! I got to save Megan!"

Lagaan yelled as he thrashed around in bed

Kai, Connor, and Dick all struggled to keep the boy down without hurting hum further.

" Ugh! Kid listen you need to calm down. You're in no condition to be moving."

Kai said to the boy.

" Then what about him?! Why isn't he rescuing her? I know you dumped her. But do you really hate her that much?"

Lagaan asked Connor angrily.

" YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I FEEL FOR HER!"

Connor yelled back.

" You're right! Because I would never abandon her to Kaldur and his flunkies. Because that's who took her. Aquatraitor's personal ninja cow tigress!"

Lagaan yelled.

" Enough! Connor cool it. You too Lagaan. We will get her back. Just like we got you back."

Kai said to the two angered heroes.

" You Better! Cuz if you don't I swear!"

Lagaan was getting ready to threaten the two men before Nightwing cut him off.

" Lagaan Enough!"

Nightwing yelled before taking a deep breath.

" I'm not supposed to tell you this. But Aqualad is not a traitor."

Nightwing said to the three.

Lagaan relaxed into his bed and Connor and Kai looked at Nightwing expecting an explanation.

" What are you talking about?"

Kai asked the man.

" He killed Artemis."

Lagaan yelled.

" No, he didn't. Aqualad has been on a deep cover mission for months. Infiltrating Black Manta's troops, The light, and the reach. We faked Artemis's death. She's alive. In fact, Artemis is Tigress. If she kidnapped Miss Martian, there has to be a good reason."

Nightwing explained.

Connor and Kai glared at Nightwing both of them angry at the man but decided to say nothing in front of Lagaan.

" Why am I only hearing this now? I mourned Artemis. Neptunes beard I tried to tear Kaldur limb from limb, YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME!"

Lagaan yelled at the man.

" No, Nightwing's our leader. We put our trust in him."

Connor said to the boy.

" I'm sure he didn't keep this from us. From all of us without his reasons."

Kai said as well.

" Look we will figure this out. Together. In the meantime, get some rest."

Dick said to Lagaan before Leaving the room with Kai and Connor.

" Thanks for backing me up in there guys."

Dick said to his two friends.

Kai grabbed the man and slammed him up against the wall.

" Well, you didn't really give us much of a choice!"

Kai yelled in the man's face.

" This is our team. Ours! We were supposed to be different from the League. We were supposed to trust each other! Not lie to each other! And go around each other's backs!

Kai yelled in Dicks face before releasing him.

" Do you have any idea what your secrets have done to us."

Connor said as well.

" What are you talking about?"

Dick asked.

" Megan believed Kaldur had killed Artemis, so, when she found him on the Reach ship. She. Fried. His. Brain."

Connor revealed to the two men shocking them both.

" That's gotta be why Artemis grabbed her. To try and save Kaldur's broken mind. But Megan doesn't know how to do that! So, Manta may just kill her and kill Tigress if she blows her cover trying to save her. And we'll have lost all three of them because you thought it was a bad idea to share."

Connor explained to Dick before storming off angrily with Kai right behind him.

Dick regretted his action as he watched as two of his best friends walked away.
