Panic! 1

Saurina started to panic the more she looked at the situation. The soul in front of her just said his name was Jerod White. The soul on the file was definitely Shawn Paul. But soul communication doesn't allow for lying. Even if he changed his name it would still come through the communication.

'What happened? What do I do? How do I fix this?'

Saurina looked around the room as was her habit when she was nervous. Her eyes landed on the picture of her father and she dug deep for the courage she needed to calm down and think rationally.

"Jerod you said your name was? Please hold for a moment while I look into this and find a fix for our situation"

'Nailed the assurance statement! Wait that doesn't fix the situation. Come on Saurina think, think about what can you do in this situation.'

Saurina decided to first look at the process to see where things went wrong. She checked her checklist of transmigration, she selected the planet from the divine intervention needed database. She looked at the soul that was selected in the transmigrator database it showed the name should be Shawn Paul, soul number 4865.144112253.753966.010236.122. She went to the transmigration system and looked at the corresponding information and found the problem. She sighed in relief helping her to calm down some in the process.

"Jerod just to keep you in the loop I will let you know what happened so far. My job is to select worlds that need divine intervention to help maintain the balance of life and death or creation and destruction. So I select a world in our database that shows worlds that need assistance and then I select a person that has been vetted by another system to find a person that fits within our parameters to provide the best assistance to maintain the balance. Each person is identified by their soul number in this database. It is broken down by universe.year.planetlang.planetlog.soulstamp. The soul number for Shawn Paul is 4865.144112253.753966.010236.122 while your soul number is 4865.144112253.753966.01023.6122. So you see its a simple misplacement of the decimal. Now I am going to figure out how to fix this so please just relax."

'Misplaced decimal. Yeah that makes sense. I've done it, my students do it. It happens to everyone sometimes. Just stay calm and let this goddess sort out the situation. Everything will be okay...'

While Jerod mentally calmed himself down Saurina pulled out her technical manual to assist her with her duties. Thanking the persistence of her father and the trainers of ensuring she knew the first thing to do if something isn't working is to check the manual, it has all the answers.

While scrolling through the manual she decided her best course of action would be to put Jerod back and just reset the case file for this transmigration so she decided on her first question. How to return a soul to its body.

SOULS > BODY ATTACHMENT > PREVIOUS ATTACHMENT

Once souls are removed from their body they cannot be returned to the body. Souls develop connection points throughout the body that once removed are damaged and cannot be repaired without breaking the time space codex rules. If a soul is removed from a body in error paperwork must be submitted to the auditing department. Reasoning for error is investigated following a soul review with possible options of being reincarnated into a newborn or prematurely added to the soul bank for cleansing.

Saurina froze when she saw that she would have to submit paperwork to the auditing department. This was her first case! How could she report to them saying she messed it up? They would take away her job and she would never be able to look at the photo of her father again without feeling disappointed in herself. Panic started to rise again.

Jerod felt there was something wrong at this point. The goddess stopped moving for a while now and it sounded like she might be muttering something under her breath.

'Surely the goddess it just trying to figure out how to fix this right? She is a goddess so she should be able to fix anything. She was transparent to tell me what was wrong so she is confident to fix it right?'

"Um.. Goddess? Is everything okay? You have been standing there for a while so I just wanted to make sure everything is going okay. I need to get back to my friend Lindsay so I can get her to a doctor."

"Ack!" Saurina had been stuck in her panicked daze thinking about how much trouble she is going to be in with the auditing department.

"Umm. Jerod... I don't know how to tell you this..."

As the goddess turned around Jerod got the same bad feeling as he did right before Lindsay told him about her brain tumor. He felt his world falling down around him again for the second time in the last 24 hours.

"Jerod, let me start by apologizing. I believe I mentioned that today is my first day unsupervised. I don't remember if I told you or not, oh well today is supposed to be my first day with no supervision and you are the first soul I have started the transmigration with. It turns out that once a soul is removed from a body it can't be put back."

"WHAT?!? What do you mean my soul can't go back to my body? If this is your first day then that means there were other gods that have done this job before right? Are you telling me that none of your predecessors have ever made the same mistake? There isn't anyway to fix it?"

"Wait! You're right someone had to have made the same mistake before let me see what they did in the past!"

Saurina went back to the technical manual database and started to look into transmigration soul errors.

TRANSMIGRATION > BODY AND SOUL

In the transmigration process you should always make sure to tick the checkbox to ensure the body is brought with the soul. This will allow the divine intervention to start immediately instead of having to wait for a new body to be created. If preliminary checks are missed or body of transmigrator is beyond repair the soul may be pulled alone. In this process the soul will be transmigrated into a newborn prior to the new consciousness developing allowing for the transmigrator to develop in the new world with a new body.

"Okay great thinking Jerod. There was some information regarding pulling just the soul. However... This process is for the transmigration it seems the only way for a soul to be put back is to be placed into a newborn of the new planet."

'I cannot report this to the auditing department. I have to fix this on my own somehow. Maybe I can edit the file to show the right soul number so that everything is fine on paper. This Jerod seems to be an okay person. He wants to help his friend get a doctor. He shows genuine care so I am sure if I give him the mission he will do it right?'

"So.. you are saying that I can't return to where I came from? What about my friend Lindsay? What is going to happen to her?"

"Let me look to see. I can look at where your soul came from to see your body. You said you were with her?"

"Yes I was just about to pick her up to carry her out of the forest to the forestry station to call a doctor."

Saurina looked down on the frozen world where Jerod was standing over Lindsay and noticed her soul starting to leave her body.

"Jerod I am sorry but it seems like she started to pass away the moment I pulled your soul from your body... There was nothing you could do..."

Jerod's mind stopped. He was so shocked that his soul was vibrating visibly. It took an unknown amount of time for him to start to settle down.

'Lindsay is dead... I am dead... But now I have to start all over again in a newborn?'

"Goddess.. When I start over as a newborn on this new world, will I remember everything from my past life?"

"Yes.. That is actually very important as it allows you to remember your mission and it allows your personality to shine through and help you to protect the balance."

"You said I can select two benefits when I go right? Just name them and you will see what you can do? Can I take Lindsay with me?"

"What do you mean take her with you? Her soul will have to go to the soul bank."

"Is there anyway she can be with me? I need her. If I can't forget my last life then I can't go to the next one without her."

Saurina thought about it and decided to check back with her technical manual. So far it has at least provided some answers even if they weren't exactly what she was looking for.

BENEFIT REQUEST > PARTNER REQUEST > SOUL SYSTEM

Some transmigrators will request to bring their partner, lover, friend, or companion. Under most circumstances this is not possible as this would require the requested to die possibly against their will. Only the transmigrator is allowed to bring their body. If transmigrator is insistent on bringing another it is possible to soul communicate with the requested to see if they would like to assist transmigrator. NOTE: The only way to bring requested is to pull consciousness off of soul and implant into SYSTEM perk. This will utilize one of two selected benefits and only if requested will allow for their life to be over. ... more details expand.

MORE DETAILS: NOTE: Paperwork must be sent to soul bank if requested life is terminated due to this process. Soul bank must account for additional soul. However if soul is at scheduled termination this process can be negated and consciousness can just be removed from the soul prior to reaching the soul bank.
