Wrong gift for the Princess

Doctor Richard took his time to explain to the king and the queen what was really happening to Ray.

"His vital signs were ok when we brought him in here,so i decided to observe him. But after some minutes he started jerking and his vital signs started dropping,so i started cardiac massage to ensure blood circulates well to his vital organs" replied the doctor to the king

The doctor was still resusciating him while replying the king. The King and his queen and the two other people there were speechless and stood still watching the doctor doing the resuscitation. The king then turned to his personal assistant and told him to go check the palace ambulance and tell some maids to clean it up and get it ready incase it is needed. The doctor told the guard who was in the room with them to go to his car and quickly bring oxygen cylinder ,he hand over the key car to him and quickly continued the resuscitation. The guard moved out quickly heading to the car park. The king asked "what of the oxygen cylinder in the palace ambulance?"

The doctor then turned to the king and said "it's finished your highness,I'm yet to refill it"

"Why wasn't it refilled as soon as it finished?" asked the king,

"it should be ready at all times incase of emergencies like this one".

"Sorry your highness it won't happen again",said the

doctor.

He then told the king that once the oxygen is fixed on him,he will be taken to the hospital for further management.

"Its ok, but how is his vital signs with all the resuscitation you have done so far?" the king asked.

"His vitals signs are coming up small small but he needs further expert management at the hospital" replied the doctor.

"Please Richard, what exactly made him slump?" asked the queen

"I can't say for now until we examine him properly and run some test at the hospital,replied the doctor.But some examples of what can make someone to slump is very high blood pressure,very low blood pressure ,high or very low sugar levels,suffocation etc But in his own case, blood pressure and sugar level was ok when i checked him immediately after he slumped. It was after a while his blood pressure started fluctuating"

As the doctor was still speaking, the oxygen cylinder was brought in. He put the guard on oxygen and told the king that he wants to take him to the hospital immediately.

"Ok, please do all you can" said the king who instructed two other guards to come and assist in carrying Ray into the palace ambulance. The guards went into action immediately and Ray was carried to the hospital.

The king returned to his chamber after sending two palace guards to go and inform Ray's family of the latest development. The queen went to see the princess before returning to her own chamber. She met the princess and her maids watching movie and told them that Ray is picking up small small but has been taken to hospital.

"Take care my daughter l must go and rest now" said the queen. The princess had small relief on hearing this,at least he is not dead she said. "Oh God let him recover fast so that no bad invent will be recorded on my birthday",the princess prayed.

After she and her maids watched moive for a while, she told her personal maid to start opening the gift one by one. "Open my mother's own first",the princess instructed her maids.

It was opened and the princess danced in excitement because the queen bought her some expensive jewelries,two gowns and two shoes of her favourite colours.

She then took her father- the kings gift which she has been longing for and gave her maid to open. "I wonder why father used medium sized box to put it,what I'm expecting is very small, the ancestral ring!" Said the princess.

"Let's open and see first my princess" said Alice her maid. The box was opened but lo and behold it wasn't the ring the princess was expecting! Right inside the box was a beautiful crown and a necklace. The princess was so disappointed and angry, she couldn't control her anger so she pushed the king's gift away and ran to the bathroom and cried bitterly. Her maids entered the bathroom,brought her out and told her not to worry,that her father will explain to her what actually happened.

"But what explanation will he give,how can he disappoint me like this",said the princess in anger.

"He showed me that ring when l was 10 years and promised to give it to me on my 18th birthday. I even reminded him of it on my 17th birthday and he told me he has not forgotten". "Please calm down my princess, it's not late yet may be he is testing you to know what your reaction will be" said Alice.

"Why not go and ask him about it or better still go to the queen to know if she is aware of it", Alice added.

She wiped her tears and went to meet her mother, her maids followed her.

When she opened the door of the queen's chamber,she ran into her mother's arms and cried bitterly.

"What is it my child?,why are you crying like this?" asked the worried queen. She could not understand why the princess would be crying like that. The princess gave no answer instead she cried the more.

The queen told her to calm down and talk, and she said "my father didn't give me that ancestral ring again like he promised me. It was a crown and necklace I found instead" the princess added.

"What? I'm not aware of it,but it's ok my dear, wipe your tears and cry no more" said the queen. "Just calm down he will explain to us".

"Then let me go immediately and ask him to explain" said the princess.

"No,not yet said the queen, he is not in a good frame of mind right now because of the chief guard that is in coma. So let us at least hear of his recovery before you ask him ok". The queen tried to convince her.

She left her mother,went to her room and sat on the bed thinking of how to handle the situation.One of maid went to do some work with the other palace maids,while Alice her personal maid stayed with her. When they stayed for a while, the princess remembered something and asked Alice if she has had a bath after the party,no replied Alice.

"You can go and take your bath,l want to sleep" the princess instructed her.

While the maid was away,the princess quickly left her room and went to the palace's secret exit door which her parents showed her some years back. She reached the door and put the secret number her father used to open it the day they showed her the exist and it opened. She was happy but nervous,so she said a prayer in her mind "oh God I know I'm not doing the right thing but l need a place outside this palace to cool off because I am so angry,please protect me" She then left through the door and locked it as she was shown by her parents.
