207. Diversion
The calm didn't last. They had barely started running for a few seconds when Dante heard the growls of a werewolf in pursuit. However, the beta didn't hear any other footsteps which meant that if he got rid of that one, he could buy time and use his diversion plan to distract their enemies' attention from his classmates.
Dante checked the position of the werewolf behind him and peered around to look at the topography. He thus tightened his arms around Cherry's body. With calculated precision, he jumped on a first tree trunk on which he leaned to reach another. His feet landed on the trunk and he pushed with all his might to perform a backflip. The dominant landed on the back of the werewolf. At the same time, Evan who had seen the beta prepare for his attack came from the left and leaped, aiming for their enemy's head which he tore off.
