Why A Dimensional Chat Group?

In contemporary Japan, Yuu Tachibana lives a seemingly ordinary life with his beloved family. However, Yuu harbors a secret: he has lived a past life in another world, making his current life his second. Having no one to call family in his previous life, Yuu cherishes his family all the more. One fateful night, Yuu discovers an unidentified phone in his room. The message displayed on its screen is cryptic and foreboding: [Do you want to save your family from their terrible fate?] With a sense of dread, Yuu is faced with a choice: [Yes] or [No]. Yuu must decide if he is willing to risk everything to protect his loved ones. Will he choose to save them, or let fate run its course? -------- So, before you jump into the fic, let me address the frustration of some readers, This fic is slow. The Dimensional Chat Group, is not given to the MC in the first or fifth chapter. No, no! Not even in 8 chapter, It decides to make a fashionable entrance in chapter 11. And we don't even get to fully explore it until chapter 15. Isn't that just great? The delay in the chat group's appearance seems to be a point of confusion for many readers. While the chat group is indeed a central aspect of the story, it's important to understand why the MC would use this unknown and potentially dangerous power. If the MC is reckless or unintelligent, the chat group's usage might begin in the first chapter. However, if the MC is depicted as a self-proclaimed genius or cautious individual, the story will reach the point of the chat group's involvement by chapter 3 at the latest, followed by a mission. In the initial 8 to 9 chapters, we get a glimpse into the MC's ordinary existence. He leads a regular life, surrounded by his loving family. He attends school, where he has a small circle of friends. Financially speaking, his family doesn't face any difficulties or hardships. And he is content with this simple, everyday life. Now, you might be wondering, why on earth would a person like our MC take a risk with the Chat Group? Hear me out. He's not some thrill-seeker, or a martial arts enthusiast looking for stronger opponents, nor is he a genius bored out of his mind. He's content with his life, and he doesn't crave anything more. So, why would he put his neck on the line? That's precisely why it takes so long for the Chat Group to enter the picture. The initial chapters focus on showcasing his everyday life with family and friends. It's all about giving you a glimpse into why he wouldn't initially desire the chat group. But, of course, he eventually takes the plunge because he discovers a reason that speaks to him. Now, I know some of you may say, "Hey, couldn't you have summed it up in a single chapter?" Well, sure, I could have, but I didn't want to. Summarizing the MC's relationships and motivations would have resulted in a shallow excuse that you—yes, you—would probably complain about later. Plus, there's more to this story than just his daily life. But enough about that. Let's get one thing straight: this fic is slow. If you're expecting a quick summary with occasional fights and snappy dialogue, do yourself and me a favor by clicking off this fic. You'll find what you're looking for in less than 10 seconds, guaranteed. So, if you're still here after this warning, I don't want to hear any complaints about the story's pace. You've been duly informed. And hey, as you read, try paying a little more attention to uncover the hidden meanings within the dialogues and monologues. Also, I am not saying that I have done a fantastic job on the writing, No that’s not the point of this. The point is that you the reader don’t waste your time reading something you don’t like. And I don’t get 1-star reviews for a reason as petty as ‘The Chat group took too long to appear’ That's all for now. What?

"Sit down, I'll get the breakfast for you," Kanae made Shinobu sit down at the table and went to get the food quickly.

"What?" Shinobu barked at Yuu seeing that he hadn't said anything yet.

"…" Yuu placed the bowl he was eating from on the table and swallowed his food like he was going say something but…

"If you have something to say just say it, don't continue eating," Shinobu pointed at Yuu seeing that picked up another bowl and started to eat again.

"I have nothing to say," Yuu said plainly.

"Nothing, really?" Shinobu asked in surprise.

"Really," Yuu answered.

"For real?"

"For real,"

"So you don't find it funny?"

"…"

"Why are you silent? Do you find it funny or not?"

"…Maybe a little"

"That's it, You are Dead!!"

And that is how another morning started in the Butterfly Mansion.

***

A full week passed and Yuu continued to train as usual, then…

"The udon shop on 7th street is closing soon because the owner passed away,"

"Suguha from the third street likes Taito from the rice store," Yuu looked up to his right and saw the source of the voice.

"But Taito likes Saya from the Tea House," It was the Kasugai Crow assigned to him, his name was Raido and he seemed to like ...talking.

"I see," Yuu said without looking, he had been hearing this type of news since Raido arrived here. And most of the information seemed to come from the town nearby.

"Don't act like you're hearing any of that," Shinobu commented, she was currently resting and had become somewhat used to Raido's noisy gossip. She had become too used to the silence that came when training with Yuu.

So, the sudden chatter was a bit welcome.

"I am listening to it," Yuu said and sat down for some rest, he used the cloth nearby to wipe the sweat off his face.

"Oh, are you? Then what did he say in the morning three days ago?" Shinobu asked.

"On that morning he talked about the new Hiyashi Chuka (Cold Chinese noodles with a lot of toppings) stall that opened was crowded with people and two people got hurt by the crowd," Yuu said and Shinobu looked at Raido.

"I don't remember CAW*," Raido said as Shinobu's face twitched.

"Then what is the point of blabbering about stuff like this," Shinobu snapped and Raido flew away, maybe to get more gossip in the nearby town.

"Anyway isn't it today …the day the swordsmith arrives," Shinobu sat down and looked at Yuu.

"Yes, they should arrive today in the afternoon," Yuu heard about it early this morning from Raido, and Kanae had already told him about it before.

He was also told that there were some complications with the thing he asked for and that caused a little delay, otherwise, he would've gotten his katana faster.

'Things have been going properly for now, all that's left is…' Yuu thought as he stood up and started to swing the wooden katana around.

"Don't you get tired of doing the same movement all the time?" Shinobu was getting sick of watching Yuu do the same routine every single day.

'It is just basic movement done on repeat over and over again,' It wasn't something super complicated like Shinobu thought, she really thought Yuu was going to use some technique from his corps but all he did was this.

"No, I am used to this," Yuu answered as usual, such a thing was natural to him. Normally people would get sick of doing a monotonous routine, but not him since at one point in life he had no room to think of anything else for himself, all he did was follow the instructions.

'His swings do get stronger with every few days,' Shinobu could hear the difference from the sound the wooden katana made while cutting the air, she was thinking about things in her head, and then opened her mouth.

"You somehow got into the corps," Shinobu was sure there would be many problems with Yuu joining in but it worked out in the end.

'I hate to admit this but losing a person of his strength would be really unfortunate,' Shinobu had of course never said this out loud, but really thought of Yuu's capabilities highly.

"It seems that way," Yuu spoke while he was still training, but it wasn't fully true. He didn't have the trademark uniform that Demon Slayers had, well not that he wanted it, but it still showed the difference.

"I'll go first," Shinobu left to take a bath after seeing that Yuu wasn't going to say anything more.

'Should I send a letter through Kanae?' Yuu thought while sitting in the backyard, he needed to send a letter to Kagaya and…

"This one seems like the best option," Yuu muttered as he stopped for a moment before continuing again.

Then it was the afternoon and Yuu was guided by Kanae to a room saying that the swordsmith has arrived. He had just finished his afternoon training and he was on his way to meet the person that arrived.

Entering the room Yuu was met with a man whose face was covered with a Hyottoko mask, his hair was white showing his age reaching the middle of his back.

"You are finally here, My name is Tetsuido and I've been put in charge of making the katana for you," An aged voice came from behind the mask as Yuu sat down in front of Tetsuido.

"Is everything done?" Yuu asked looking at the cloth that contained the katana, It was placed in between Tetsuido and him.

"Yes, you can check it out for yourself," Tetsuido picked up katana wrapped in the cloth and gave it to Yuu.

Yuu unwrapped the cloth and the katana with a back handle inside a black sheath came in from on him.

Yuu didn't say anything about it and grabbed the handle to draw the blade out of the sheath.

A pure silver blade of 77.3 cm came out reflecting the sunlight coming in through the open door on the side.

The whole katana had a very simple design with a straight edge, but there was something else that caught Kanae and Tetsuido's eyes.

"As expected the color didn't change," Tetsuido said as Yuu's katana was showing no signs of changing colors like it would for a normal demon slayer.

'That's because Tachibana-sama doesn't have a breathing style,' Kanae thought as she looked at the blade, in the end, she could only shake her head to drive away the thoughts.

"Leaving that aside, swing it around a little, if it doesn't suit you I'll make changes to it," Tetsuido said as Yuu nodded and went out of the side door that lead to the garden outside.

Kanae and Tetsuido were able to see him from the room as he swung the katana with basic movements for around half an hour before coming in.

"So, is there a problem?" Tetsuido asked as he blew out the smoke from his mouth, in the time Yuu was outside he had moved the Hyottoko mask halfway up and lit up a smoking pipe.

"There isn't," Yuu said as he returned the katana back to the black wooden sheath.

"I see, well the other things are in this, you sure ask for some troublesome stuff," Tetsuido handed over a leather bag.

"Sorry for the trouble, And It was nice meeting you again," With that said Yuu took his leave.

He went straight to find Shinobu who was currently taking care of the patients right after the training was done.

"What?" And she was a little tired as well.

"They made it," Yuu held up the leather bag in his hand and Shinobu stood up from the seat beside the patient.

"You should've said so from the beginning," Shinobu said and the two went to the room Shinobu used for her work.

Meanwhile back at room with Kanae and Tetsuido.

"As I thought he noticed me right away," Tetsuido laughed a little while smoking "I went through so much trouble so that he wouldn't."

"Tetsuido-san did dress up like a Kakushi while bringing the ore here," Kanae sighed, she was quite troubled when she heard about it before but it seemed like it had a reason.

But the question was how did Yuu recognize Tetsuido?

"My hands gave it away," Tetsuido knew Kanae was thinking about the same thing so he said out loud.

"Hands?" Kanae looked a little puzzled.
