Chapter 11: No worries. Your secret is safe with me.

Luna had always wanted to know why Gear was killing all of these princesses. These princesses who brought peace to the kingdom, land, or country they were born in were dying by his hand. If Luna didn't witness the true identity of the princess, she would have acted like those angry mob. Wondering why something so horrendous happened to such a pure, beautiful, and kind person.

"No…" She wasn't in a hurry for Gear to tell her, "I'll wait until Gear tells me."

Although Luna has no idea why Gear was doing this, and why this was his mission, she trust him. She trusts him since the day he took her in. Luna would never forget that day and remembering that day made her smile shyly. Wei stares at Luna while thinking to himself why did Gear take this girl in. It wasn't like Gear to do that, not after everything they went through.

The mission given to Gear was also given to him. They didn't have anyone in this world that could be trusted. The only ones they could trust were just the two of them. No one else. So, Wei had found it strange ever since he received a letter from Gear talking about Luna. A girl who he had taken in started to assist Gear in cutting off the princess's head. When he first read the letter, Wei thought Gear had been tricked by one of the fanatics of the princess.

However, as days went by and he continue to receive the letters, Wei noticed something unusual in the letter. Gear's cold demeanor was somewhat softer in his writing. The first thing that came to Wei's mind when he noticed the change in the letter was maybe Gear was growing weary from all the killing. The second thing was, maybe because he lost his memories his cold demeanor disappeared not only until he regained his memories, but even after regaining his memory, Gear continued to send him updates.

Wei thought that maybe Gear was going to look for a good place to leave Luna in, but not only did he not abandon her, he even brought her here. To the secret base where all of the heads were being held. The one place that cannot be discovered by anyone in this world.

Now, Wei was glad to know that Gear's heart hadn't frozen all the way, but now he was concerned about him. Their mission was dangerous, even suicidal. One wrong misstep, and everything would end. The whole world would end. That's why Wei couldn't help but be cautious around Luna. He couldn't trust her, or let his guard down around her. However, when he saw the gentle expression on Gear's face, and Luna's behavior around him, he became suspicious towards her. So, he decided to throw a bait at her. Depending on her reaction and reply, he was either going to kill her right on the spot, or spare her.

Wei smirks at Luna as he gives out a sigh, "I see…"

He thought for sure, she would prey into Gear's mission as soon as he said that to her. He didn't expect her to reply back like that. She was more concerned about Gear's life then him removing the forgetting curse. She stood by his side even after witnessing him murdering all of those princess. Maybe, just maybe she was the right person to be with Gear and help heal that weary soul of his.

"I'm leaving him to you," Wei mumbles, hoping he doesn't regret his choice.

"Hmm?" Luna didn't hear him.

Wei quickly changes the subject and brings out a jar of chocolate for her try. It was his personal homemade chocolate he made himself. When Gear came back from the bathroom, he was welcomed by a laughing lunatic Wei and Luna. He leaves them for just a moment and Wei already pulls out his Jackal Chocolate on her. After a good hour of waiting until the effect of the Jackal Chocolate was gone, Luna couldn't look at Gear in the face. Gear glares at Wei for causing Luna to feel embarrassed.

"What? No one was harmed," said Wei with a playful smile.

"If you're that bored here, why not go out every now and then?" Gear asked, "No one beside the three of us knows about this place anyway."

Wei knew of his good intention and shook his head, "Can't risk the chance."

At times like this, Gear wished he could quickly get rid of all of the princess so Wei could leave this place sooner. Like Wei said, they can't risk leaving this place unattended. There was no telling when, or who would find this place. Even if it was at the center of the world, after all of the attention he had created, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Royal Court found this place.

"I hope the next time you return here with her, it will be when all of this is over" Wei pat his shoulder as he looks at Luna, "And, you should wait until she's of age before doing anything."

Gear was completely taken back by his words, "What are you talking…?!"

Wei smirks at him, "No worries. Your secret is safe with me."

"Seriously, Wei…?!"

Wei chuckles at him and heads back inside. Gear couldn't see it himself, but Wei who's known him from all of these years knew. Even back in the old days, Gear never made that expression to anyone, not even to that person. For him to give off such a soft gaze and warm words in the letter, it would only mean one thing. Of course, Wei wasn't going to spell it out to him since there would be no point to it. Gear had to realize it himself. Wei always thought that Gear's taste was in older women.

"Was I wrong?" Wei mumbles out.

Gear could never tell what was on Wei's mind. Even after all this time, he still has no idea. Luna was sulking at the entrance of the labyrinth. Gear ruffles her hair to get her out of her embarrassed state. Luna covers her head, "You didn't see anything…"

"Yes, yes," said Gear with a smile, "I didn't see anything."

Luna presses her lips together and quickly stands up, "Come on! We've already wasted a lot of time here! Let's get this princess hunting over with!"

Luna marches away from the labyrinth as though she knew the way back to the outside world out of the forest. Gear knew that she was still trying to hide her embarrassment. If anyone was watching this and did not know that, they would assume it was her mission and not his to hunt down the princess.
