Deciding To Join The Wind Sect

Prince Jie Shui saw nothing but darkness.

"Am I dead?" he asked the darkness. He felt calm and a bit relieved at the thought of dying. If he were dead, he would be with his slaughtered men. This was all the comfort he needed. This feeling evaporated the moment he remembered that there was still some unclean being slaughtering humans. He remembered the reason he had escaped from the battlefield leaving his men to die. He sat up immediately.

Grrrrr, he groaned in pain but even this was not enough to stop him from standing up. His whole body ached from head to toe but he had a mission to accomplish. If he left the world without warning the world, he would not rest in peace even if he were to die. He grabbed the flimsy wall and slowly walked out of the room. When the first ray of sunlight fell on his eyes, he flinched in pain. He looked away immediately and gave his eyes time to adjust.

After a few seconds, he was able to see his surroundings. He wore black rags that had patches all over. He was covered in bloody bandages. He saw a few small dilapidated houses arranged in a circle. He was in a village of some sort.

"What are you doing out of bed ?" shouted Tu You.

The prince was surprised to see the muscular young boy approaching him. The boy grabbed him by the hand and led him back into the house. There he opened the window letting in some light.

The prince was able to see the young boy. He was not sure that the person qualified to be called a young boy. His body was built like an ox. His arms were as thick as the prince's waist. His black trousers and shirt could barely contain his rippling muscles. His head was bold and not even a single hair could be seen on his body. Even his eyebrows were missing.

The man stood over six feet tall. He was a titan of humans. The prince would rather fight against a lion that faces this man/boy in combat.

The only things that showed that he was still a boy were his speech patterns and his chubby cheeks.

The boy smiled a lot and seemed to be a very happy and satisfied individual. He spoke to the prince as he smiled widely.

"My name is Tu You. I live in this village with my uncles and aunties ." said the boy.

The prince looked on in silence as the boy who called himself Tu You spoke while cleaning up the room.

The boy spoke continuously leaving the prince in stunned silence. Tu You had an infectious happiness that almost made the prince forget about his problems.

Days went by just like this as the prince thought about his next move. He realized that his political power would be greatly reduced as a defeated prince. Even if he were to return to the capital, he would not be able to convince the ministers and his father to take the threat seriously. His brothers and sisters might even take the opportunity to eliminate him in his weakened state. He had been the favored candidate for crown prince but he was now just an arrogant prince that had gotten thousands of soldiers killed. Most people would not even believe his story of an army of thousands being slaughtered by a black skeleton. He may be able to overcome these problems but would still have to contend with the prime minister.

Prime Minister Chu Wei was rumored to be a powerful cultivator. He had been prime minister for as long as anyone could remember. He was prime minister even before the cultivation age began. His son Chu Han was one of the five proteges discovered during the Julanj so many years ago. These geniuses were the reason the powerful sects of the Rubicon continent stopped neglecting the Sky Continent. It was even rumored that of the five geniuses, Chu Han, the youngest son of the prime minister was the most talented. He was immediately taken in as the last disciple of a powerful big shot in a formidable sect on the Rubicon Continent. With this son as his backing, the prime minister had grown powerful. His cultivation was supported by countless precious resources from the Rubicon.

His cultivation grew rapidly and his influence over the Cloud Empire had surpassed the emperor's. If Prince Jie Shui were to return to his current state, he would most likely be killed due to his prior hostility towards the prime minister. Chu Wei may not even have to say anything and someone may just decide to kill the prince to gain the prime minister's favor.

The prince was frustrated by the situation.

His days were spent with Tu You who spoke endlessly.

"I am going to join the Wind sect in a few weeks," said Tu You.

When the prince heard these words, he got an idea of what he needed to do.

He made up his mind to seek power through cultivation. If he wanted the people to be safe from the evils of the world, he needed power. He needed enough power to do what needed to be done without being constrained by people such as the prime minister who only cared about their own personal benefits.

"I need to join a sect, cultivate to gain power and then deal with the skeleton. With its current power, it will not be able to turn the continent upside down. It will kill some people but for now, I can do nothing to stop it I will need to gain power fast I need to be powerful enough to kill the skeleton in the utmost twenty years." thought the prince as he got up from the bed.

"For now, the best I can do is send a letter to my father and hope that he heeds my warning. I know that he will be very skeptical of my account of the events but I have built up enough trust that he will try and do something about the situation." thought Jie Shui.

"Let us join the sect together ." said the prince. Tu You was surprised before he burst into happiness. He had been worried about going to this so-called sect on his own. Now that he was going with his new friend, he was less anxious.
