Memories

Within an extremely huge library that was filled to the brim with books of all sizes, topics and shapes, a library that was so large no one couldn't see its beginning nor its end. There a frail and blindfolded silver haired youth sat, reading a book twice his size with an intrigued expression.

' Sigh. I've really been terribly misinformed." Silver sighed and turned the page to a new one. This world, just like every other cultivation world had the existence of alchemy or advanced pharmacy in this case, where some arcanists with a nature type arcana have dedicated themselves into researching and creating advanced potions, pills and pellets for arcanist.

There were different varieties of potions and pills and each had its own use. Seeing this, Silver being the nerd he was, was completely enthralled with the advanced chemical formulas and pure chemistry.

Not just that, there were those talented arcanist who had dedicated their lives into creation of fighting techniques and battle skills that increased the overall skill of the arcanist . It was up until now that Silver remembered that the veteran soldier he had killed a few weeks back had used some sort of wishy washy technique to materialize something like a meteor burst during that last attack. Those techniques were called Arcane Techniques and were graded with the same colours as arcana itself. Red being the lowest tier and Violet being the highest tier.

There were also those who gave themselves to the creation of advanced weapons and mecha suits to combat direbeasts. They were called refiners and all arcane weapons were also graded from Red to Violetas well.

Thankfully, the school had gone all out in providing them with resources. He had been staying in this library for quite a few days now absorbing as much knowledge as he could like a sponge soaking up water.

" Whooo I'm exhausted." Silver smiled and stretched himself lazily. This was the kind of life he wanted. A life where he didn't have to be a wanted criminal and be haunted down every time. Where he could sit and absorb knowledge like the freak he was until he was exhausted.

" Mr. Silver, lady Moon dropped this for you. She told me to tell you that, Instructor Gerald was requesting your presence as soon as possible." The sexy looking librarian Mrs Potts who Silver had actually become friends with walked up to him and handed him a food flask .

" Thank you Mrs. Potts." Silver smiled. Apart from Moon and the sometimes annoying Samael she was the only person who he could smile with. She shared his passion of absorbing knowledge and living a quiet life.

" One more thing Mr . Silver . " She said and sat down beside Silver.

" Do you believe in the existence of Gods?" She took off her glasses and asked with a serious glance.

" Mmmm, let's see." Silver smiled and took a bite from a well baked pie as he smiled. 'Moon really knows how to cook. ' He appreciated the pie and cleared his throat.

" In a supernatural world such as this, I think it'd be foolish to rule out the existence of a deity or a God like figure." Silver spoke after a thinking for a few seconds.

To him, as well as every intellectually sound person out there, Gods were as real as they could get.

" The existence of mana alone is enough to prove that there is something beyond what the natural eye sees." He added. " Even with mankind's evolved technology and science, no one has the tiniest understanding on the complexity of mana and it's origins." Silver pulled of his blindfold and looked at the golden molecules of the motes of metaphysical energy floating before him after which he took his glasses from his pocket and put them on.

" Sigh. It's rare to find someone who believes in the supernatural in this age of technological advancement." Mrs. Potts sighed before waving her hand.

A huge golden colored book appeared in front of them instantly.

" This book is currently my most prized possession but I'm willing to let you borrow it for a few days. We should properly have a talk about the divine when youre done reading it." Mrs. Potts smiled and left, leaving a completely gobsmacked Silver.

" Records of Divinity by Hiroshi Hatake." Silver read the huge title of the book as well as the authors name while he smiled thoughtfully.

" Let's see." He opened the book with his body quivering in excitement. " He's a professor at the International University of Evolution?" Silver turned the first page and saw a short biography of the author.

" Gods....what are Gods? Are they Supreme Beings who have long transcended the limits of mortality? Are they humans who have long ascended to the limit of arcane cultivation? Who are they? Where did they come from? How does their existence affect mankind as a whole? When did they appear in records? Why have they hidden themselves from mankind?....." Reading the first few lines, Silver was already enthralled, seemingly entering a trance as he absorbed everything from one page to another.

" Shit. Now that I think about it, me transmigration into this world might've been the doing of someone." He suddenly paused and thought. Silver never believed in accidents. His transmigration into this parallel future was not in accident, someone had pulled the strings and had gotten him here. He needed to find out why. What was the purpose for him transmigration? Was it for a reason? Or was based on some deity's search for some sort of fun? Or could it be that the fundamental laws of the cosmos had been shaken due to the good karma he acquired in his last life? He needed to find out and this was going to be his starting point.

" The first evidence to the existence of the divine was mankind itself. Arcana was a form of evolution yet people awaken arcana that was based on a mythological figure." Silver read a few more pages and quickly summarized in his mind.

' The first God to have interacted with man after the apocalypse was Onir. He was the God of Infinity, worshipped by the Church of Neo- Dawn. Sources claim that the first Priest of the Church had personally witnessed the descent of the God Onir personally after the apocalypse.—-

Silver was reading with rapt attention when immediately he felt something click in his mind. " Boom!!!!" A shockwave erupted from within his body, as his consciousness was transported to a distant realm or at least that's what he thought.

" Where am I? Why am I here? Who brought me here? " Silver asked himself questions as he forced himself to remain calm.

All of a sudden he saw a real life like video being played in front of him, as if he was in a theater.

In the video, he saw a man dressed in long golden robes hugging an extremely beautiful woman who was a carrying a baby in her arms. The man looked at both the woman and the child with a doting and loving look.

Seeing this, Silver felt a tug in heart as tears almost rolled down his cheek and he clutched his chest fiercely.

" This is a memory, m-my memory." Silver stammered as he looked at the baby in the woman's arms who had small silver hair growing from its head.

Suddenly he felt a pair of eyes on him and he shifted his gaze to see the long white haired man staring at him with familiar silver pupils as if examining him.

" Those- those eyes." How could he forget those pair of eyes. He literally saw them gazing back at him when he stood in front of the mirror everyday.

The man immediately revealed a small doting smile as he mouthed a few words that Silver couldn't hear. The man then tapped the woman's shoulder gently and she also turned around to see Silver and smiled gently as tears began to flow from her eyes.

Immediately, Silver felt his heart tightly clench as he forced himself to hold back his tears, yet they dropped down nonetheless.

Suddenly he felt a sudden tug on his consciousness, as if something was trying to pull him away. " No!!!" He screamed out in fear and panic, however it was futile.

He vanished from the space and the next second he found himself on the library floor surrounded by lots of people and a crying Mrs. Potts with blood oozing out of his nose and mouth as tears dropped down his eyes.

Slowly getting up, smiled to Mrs. Potts and teleported himself into his room.

" Mum, Dad." He murmured as he sat on his bed in disbelief and fear. A part of him wanted to believe that what he had seen was a lie yet he knew exactly what he had seen.

Not many things could fool his eye of Horus and an illusion wasn't one of those things.

Sitting down with his body shivering and tears dripping down his face, he continuously wiped his tears.

" Mum, Dad, Dont worry. Your son is coming for you." He gave himself a reassuring smile despite his tears and clenched his fist.

His new goal was set. He was going to go find his parents, and if they had passed away, he was going to make whoever was responsible pay in the worst way possible.
