Chapter 1:

The dark, is solitude, a fear, a comfort to many.

It's a place where anything could happen. Anything; from imagining a whole new world to thinking through your life. Especially thinking through your life. How many times have you thought, done or almost done evil? Anyway, that's not the point of my story, this story is about how I found out how much my darkness did me good, and how it made me find something I ignored for years.

MERINDEL CO OPERATIVE...

The first days of work for all normal people seem to be well...normal. You get nervous and put on your best outfits and make-up. Carry the most expensive bag and whatnot. I call that complete nonsense I can't relate with, I've never had to worry about how I look because I wouldn't see the looks on people's faces.

My name is November Whitestone, Twenty five years old and president of a company I never wanted to take over in the first place. Yes, I've said it, everyone's dream is to be rich, which I am but having people work under you gives me a migraine.

"Miss president, the meeting you called for will presume shortly." My assistant, Holy said. I love this woman she gets me, doesn't argue, knows my times for everything I couldn't live without her.

"Where's my cane?" I asked and she brought it to my hand. Following down those halls I was so in tune with now, I was partly disgusted at how many people worked here and there was no profit increase in any of my sales. I might as well be doing the work myself.

November walked into the room, which became a silent graveyard as she threw a bunch of papers and files on the table. They watched as she put her cane aside, and her eyes roamed the room, but they knew even though she wasn't looking at them, she could feel their every movement. After several moments of complete suspense, November sighed.

"I want one of you to tell me, do you enjoy getting on my nerves? Hmm? Do you enjoy the fact that I may decrease your paycheck for this excuse of three days worth of nothing?" November said, but she didn't hear anything only silence, and her patience grew thin when no one spoke.

"What if there isn't a reason?" She heard a woman say she recognized her voice, Roselyn. One of the interns had come in after her graduation. Typical.

"There's a reason for everything, you can't tell me I work my butt off when you're completely useless. What exactly is the non-reasoning in that? Don't get smart with me, kid. Your job is on the line. As executive members of the sales department, I'm putting you all on suspension." November said and stood up. Again there wasn't any argument only silence. Why wasn't she surprised?

"What about the new chief of the department who is supposed to arrive tomorrow? He is going to head the sales department." The general supervisor said moments later.

"Who? Mr Griffin? He's arriving tomorrow, how was this not on my schedule? Holy?" November asked.

"I did mention it to you Miss president."

"And?"

"You threw your hands up and said ' screw him, I'm not here to usher people into a company I don't even want.' Is what you said, Miss." November opened her mouth but no words came out.

"Okay, that does sound like me. Anyway, I will take a rain check on your suspensions, but trust me, if I ever see this lousy piece of shit on my desk again, for the fourth time. I will rip you off your positions in a heartbeat. Some younger employees want to be what you are. So go. Make yourselves useful. For once."

I don't like living like this, but it has its advantages, getting mad at people wasn't something that came so naturally to me. Circumstances had it come that way, and maybe it's better that way. I haven't seen the world in all my twenty-five years of living, but I have heard what there is no knowledge of. I don't need sight to tell me how messed up the world we live in is.

As Holy and I were discussing notes and walked down the hall, I bumped into something hard, and tall and I nearly tumbled over. This is where not seeing was a disadvantage for me, when idiots such as this one can't stay in their lane.

"Can't you watch where you're going? Do I have to spell out everything in this office?"

"Sorry Miss president I should have been looking where I was going." The low booming voice said and I could hear the smile of his apology, the nerve. But the voice itself was far too noticeable to forget.

"Well, isn't it president long legs? What the hell are you doing here?" I asked.
