37. In with Wooder

Evesa climbed the steps to the porch of her cottage while Shivani and Ray stood at the foot of them, awkwardly looking from one doorway to another.

"Why are you still standing there? Come on up." Evesa called out when she noticed their absence from her side.

"Ma when you said we can stay here for tonight, did that mean-"

"That you are getting your own cottage and you'll get all the space you need." Said Evesa, grinning like a child as Shivani came up to stand beside and so did Ray.

Before anyone could utter another word, the door in front burst open and a man in his, possibly, mid 30s yelled at the top of his voice, " Surprise," followed by the sound of head spinning loud, noise maker that's often used in kid's birthday parties.

Both Shivani and Ray were taken aback by this sudden appearance, while Evesa looked frustrated at the man standing in front.
