5 Reunited Once Again

Kitty kept Leo a complete secret. The first month away from Leo went by quickly but at the same time slowly. Kitty was nauseous all the time. She didn't think much of it until halfway through the second month of being separated from Leo. She counted the days back in her head. 'It's been six, almost seven weeks since I slept with Leo. Wait a moment, when was my last period?' Kitty thought back, and it had indeed been at least eight weeks. 'What do I do? Should I tell Julie?" Kitty walked to the kitchen. Her eyes were full of panic. Before she could say anything, the smell of eggs cooking was horrible, and she bolted to the bathroom.

Julie watched Kitty come into the room and suddenly bolt from the room. "Kitty, are you okay?" Julie followed Kitty to the bathroom and held Kitty's hair while she continued to throw up.

Kitty finally stopped puking. She flushed the toilet and rinsed her mouth out. "Julie, I think I'm pregnant. It's been too long since I missed my period." Kitty looked at Julie's reaction through the mirror.

Julie let Kitty's hair fall flat on her back. "Do you want me to book an appointment with the doctor in town to be certain?" Julie looked at her in the mirror studying Kitty's face. She sees Kitty shake her head yes, so she left Kitty to her thoughts as she went to see if they could get her to the doctor right away. Julie picked up the phone and dialled the doctor's number; she opened the kitchen window while on hold. After the call, she went back to Kitty. "Come on, let's go; there was a cancellation, and they have an opening in fifteen minutes." She walked out to the car and started it up.

Kitty walked out to the car and sat down. She struggled to not feel so out of sorts. 'Can I really have a hunter's baby? I'm not human, so a hunter will surely come after the baby and me.' She unconsciously touched her stomach. 'Would Leo be alright? No, I can't think about him right now.' She did the test for the doctor, and it came back positive. "I'm really going to have a baby." Kitty froze and looked at Julie. "Can we just go home, please?" The drive back was quiet. 'Julie must have noticed that I wanted to be alone with my thoughts.' We got home, and I went straight to my room. 'Can a fox demon and a hunter really have a child together?' Kitty wanted to reserve her powers, so she undid her transformation. Her silver ears and tail popped out while her eyes' colour changed from deep-sea blue-green to pure silver. She was truly breathtaking. After transforming into her natural state, she passed out on her bed and stayed at the cabin. She buried herself in the books until three and a half months later. She could feel that the barrier at the airport had shattered. "Julie, I'm going into town. I'll be back shortly." She bolted and rushed to the car before Julie could join her. Quickly she drove to the airport.

Leo finally landed. 'Now I need to find where my sweet run away Kitty is.' He got off the plane, and there in the lobby was Kitty. Leo ran towards Kitty. "How did you know I would be here?"

Kitty looked at Leo. "We can't talk here." She leads Leo to the car. "Can you drive to the hotel you are going to stay at? I'm pretty tired and shouldn't even be driving." She got into the passenger's side and handed him the keys in the car.

Leo was shocked at how Kitty was acting, but he finally found her. He sat down in the car and took the keys from her. "Just nap. I'll drive us safely to the hotel." Carefully he drove to the hotel. Once they arrived, he got out and helped Kitty out of the car. That's when he realized she was very much so pregnant. Not saying anything yet, he led her to the front desk and got his room key. Leo led her to the elevator then took her back to his hotel room. Kitty was unable to hold the transformation and reverted back into her fox form. Leo froze, "you're not human." The blood drained from his face.

"I put up a barrier so that when the plane landed with you in it. I could come to meet you. I never forgot you for a day." She paused, "Hunter Leo. Will you kill your child and me?" She looked over at Leo.

"If you knew I was a hunter, why did you come to me? Wait, you don't want me to find something that is here." He thought about it, but then he realized she had named the child his. "My child? What makes you think that it's mine?"

"I could not let you come to me, but going to you was my only option. Would you have stopped looking for me, Leo, if you didn't find me in the city? I was sure that you would not. After all, your job is to hunt." She laid down on the bed. "The only one I've ever slept with is you. So whose baby could it be but yours?" She started nodding off as using her powers was incredibly draining.

"You knew the dangers of coming to me, and yet you did... Kitty, what am I to do in this situation? I can't hurt you." He was now whispering. He walked over to the bed and laid down next to her, pulling her close to his body. 'I don't know what to do. If it's my child and the others find out...' Leo shudders at the thought. 'I thought she was stunning before, but now that I see her in her natural state. I'm blown away all over again.'

Kitty turned to face Leo. "I can't make your choices for you." She smiled at him and brought her hand up to his face. "I felt so safe with you. Even if it was only for a day that we were together. I recognized the symbol on the wall in your place, but I couldn't pinpoint where from. When I arrived at my new place, I was going through some old books, and that was when I saw the symbol. That's how I figured out you were a hunter. I knew that hunting me down would only be a matter of time." Her hand trailed down to his chest. "A hunter will never give up a hunt. My people are seldomly on the hunt list Leo."
