I stand up from my seat, somewhat alarmed by the truth I just heard. It sounds fake no matter how many times they repeat that it's the truth. The crazy Vell looked at me, certainly entertained by the fact that I didn't trust him. Chen sighed and started to explain that they didn't speak lies, it was the truth.

The reason for this is that the mastermind and Vell made a contact outside the facility. After the chaos occurs, Vell and the mastermind meet occasionally. Even when they're still trapped in the facility, the mastermind would use a master keycard to let out Vell and meet up. It was a strange story to hear for sure, but I let Chen explain.

"You're still young so I won't get into details" Chen sighed. "Vell and the mastermind are in that kind of relationship".
