Chapter 64: False Trust

~Third POV~

Demons.

Demons are creatures born from passionate desire, although demons are not supposed to have emotions. Demons are unable to remember their previous lives, hence they seek to feed off the greed and desires of humans.

Demons are a source of magic, a majority of them used to be vampires that later turned into demons under certain circumstances. They can be sealed in what the humans call Cursed Gear and are used by the Japanese Imperial Demon Army.

A notable trait of demons is that they can recognize each other if their Cursed Gear weapons crossed with another one or if one completely materialized or if possessing the host.

However, there are rare chances of Humans becoming Namanari.

After a human comes into contact with the demon, it will attempt to possess the host's body and if successful the demon will begin to merge his or her personality with that of its host's.

This forms the being known as a namanari. The original human personality is present but takes on the demon's characteristics, becoming full of dark desires. At first, this merged personality is full of primordial urges, such as lust, destruction, and violence.

After that, the desires grow more complex and nuanced and start to affect the person's thinking. Eventually, the infected persons may become a new demon completely.

As Jason was searching for where the Fifth Trumpet of Seraph in Japan Shibuya at this time is facing their kind of issues at that moment inside the Contract Ceremony.

Many of the soldiers in the area were searching the whole place for anything suspicious as they couldn't find any clues of what happened as they received reports of someone stealing one of the Black Series weapons.

The person in charge was a 19-year-old tall, young man with small purple eyes. His medium-length black hair is parted in the middle with the bangs hanging over his forehead. He wears the standard JIDA uniform, which consists of a long-sleeved, double-breasted black coat with two rows of gold buttons down the front, red details including shoulder epaulets, gores at the bottom, and stripes on sleeves.

Other decorations include gold aiguillettes and white foragers worn on the right shoulder. This is attached to a stylized cherry blossom decoration pendant at the center of his collar, and two bars with a unit insignia medal below them on the left.

He further wears a pair of white gloves, a black on a white armband on his left arm, and a similarly striped black and white web belt with a frog for his sword on the left, and a gold waist-plate. In addition, he also wears uniform trousers with two white belts strapped around his left leg and black shoes.

The man in question is Lieutenant Colonel Guren Ichinose.

Guren was searching around the room seeing that most of the Black Series weapons were all here except the blade containing Asuramaru as he asked around, "Men are you positive that there was no one else that took anything from the Contract Ceremony room? Did you check the inventory of the room as others aren't stolen as well?"

One of the soldiers came forward bringing a clipboard with papers detailing a large checklist of weapons as the soldier responded to the Lieutenant Colonel, "No sir only we doubled checked the weapons inventory of the Black Demon Series… only one missing is the one containing a Black Demon Level blade. Otherwise, everything is still intact."

Guren sighs at this as he places his hand on his face covering his features as he shakes his head as he spoke to the soldier, "Sigh… very well return to your duties I'll continue to investigate more on the manner."

The soldier nodded his head as Guren the next person came over to inside the building as the other soldiers were tense at his presence because his part of the noble family that owns the majority of the army a Hiragi.

A tall, young man with short black hair and reddish-brown eyes. He has thick eyebrows that zigzag up at the ends.

He wears the standard JIDA uniform which consists of a black tailcoat with red details including the shoulder epaulets with gold trim, an aiguillette worn on the right shoulder with a crescent moon decoration, and two rows of gold buttons on the front. Along with that, he wears a pair of white gloves, an armband on his left arm, and a white web belt with a gold waist plate. He also wears uniform trousers with black shoes.

Kureto Hiragi the Lieutenant General.

Kureto enters the room as he began to inspect everything as Guren relaxes his body at the sight of him in a mocking tone with a smirk, "Why hello there Hiragi~ How is your majesty doing this day?"

Kureto not amused in the slightest began to ask Guren with a serious tone as he views the missing blade, "Guren what exactly happened here? How did the Cursed Gear escape from this place without our soldiers noticing him or her?"

Guren for his part shakes his head a bit on that as he gave out a truth, "Honestly from what the demons are saying someone wearing a red and gold pattern armor appeared out of nowhere and took the blade."

Kureto glances at Guren with a look of confusion as he spoke out loud with confusion heard, "A person wearing a gold and red pattern appears out of nowhere and had the gall to take our precious resource material? As well as no one noticing such an individual?"

Guren for his part shrugs at that as he was being honest as he began to speak out more on the person who took the blade, "Yeah. You're not the only person confused by this. From the demon's description, it looks like it may have been Iron Man that stole from us?"

Stopping at that Kureto looked at Guren to see if he was joking but his face showed he was just as confused as he spoke out more confused, "Hold on your meaning to tell me we have been robbed by Iron Man? A fictional character from the movies in 2008 that robbed from the JIDA. Are you joking or something?"

Guren only nodded his head at this as he was serious from what his demon told him, and he had to ask twice to hear what he heard wasn't a joke from his demon Mahiru.

Mahiru-no-Yo who was possessing Guren has shown to communicate with each other as she was able to communicate with Raimeiki as well as the other demons to gather information about what happened.

Sighing at the info Kureto got from Guren and as well as from his demon Raimeiki while he pinches the bridge of his nose Guren glances at the Hiragi as he spoke, "So then fearless leader how exactly should we proceed with this? Is this all the work of the vampires perhaps? They have the means to create one… maybe?"

Guren unsure of his answer was next scolded for his response as Kureto grew frustrated at the man in front of him, "Guren now is not the time to be playing around! For all, I know someone has entered Shibuya unnoticed whether they are Vampire or Human! What I want now is this person in front of me!"

Guren looked at Kureto looked serious on that response agreeing to his words as someone taking a power Black Demon Series weapon without the magic circle active to help contract the demon to the human, they would've been alerted that a strong demon is on the loose.

However, since that their sensors for their weapons of magic weren't activated already made them sure that a human or vampire was the cause of the problem they are facing.

Kureto then began issuing an order to Guren with seriousness in his voice as he follows the order with a salute, "Guren I need you to find this person no matter who they are. Once any of our demons have come across each other will know our culprit who would dare still from the Japanese Imperial Demon Army!"

With that, the two soldiers began to try and figure out who the culprit was who stole from them but that was when Guren noticed that Kureto is missing his assistant, "Hey Kureto where is the assistant that is always around you?"

Scoffing at that Kureto merely replied with mild annoyance towards the subordinate with a superior tone, "Unlike you, Guren Aoi Sangu has her job to do as well to ensure we get more vampires to get what we need to be done. These cursed weapons are on limited supply after all since she's out hunting more as well as gathering more people on our side that are useful."

Guren could nod at that as that is their job but at that time something else was happening elsewhere at the time…

Meanwhile, in the Sannomiya the people were then beginning to discuss some bargaining with the wandering soldiers on patrol as per their usual time to collect any info or useful people to join their ranks since contracting one with a demon usually leaves one dead body after another.

"Thank you miss for the food!"

"No thank you for the vital information you provided."

What was happening at that moment was people wanting the food that the JIDA was providing for the useful information they were given.

The reason for this was because they were given extra portions of food to help them as they didn't mind giving information about Jason to the JIDA after all it wasn't like they know him too well and thought it would be best if he was protected under the JIDA as thanks.

The soldier was named Aoi Sangu an 18-year-old girl with the rank of Colonel as she wore her standard JIDA uniform consists of a long-sleeved black tailcoat with red details including the shoulder epaulets, which has a forager around her right side connecting to the lapel of the coat, and two rows of gold buttons on the front. Along with that, she wears a pair of white gloves, an armband on her left arm, and a white web belt buckled with a gold waist plate.

As she was currently talking about the information, they got that a person from an unknown nationality has appeared wearing a suit of armor completely advanced beyond their knowledge came out of nowhere to save the day.

Once Colonel Aoi heard about it and have gotten witness testimony about it she was certainly surprised at the outrageous claims but once the other soldiers questioned them, she wanted to see this Jason Borne person first.

Although she also wanted to ensure she gets this person under the JIDA team with his use to completely remodel the generator she saw as she was toured around the building. That and the appearance of another person was enough for her to stay to collect info for her Master Kureto Hiragi.

The squad that accompanied Aoi was a new batch of recruits as she was supposed to just show them how to patrol under supervision but that seemed to have changed once they have encountered Sannomiya.

The squad was under the leadership of the newbie recruits of Makoto Narumi along with his other family member soldiers Shusaku Iwasaki, Rika Inoue, Yayoi Endo, and Taro Kagiyama as they all waited for their superior's orders.

Narumi glancing at Aoi began to salute as he asked his superior in a formal tone, "Colonel Aoi sir! What is our next course of action, sir!"

Aoi listening to this began to speak in a cold tone but respectful one as she spoke, "Corporal Makoto Narumi. In the beginning, you were assigned with me on the pretenses of standard patrol training with the other Privates before you today but the change of plans."

Hearing the words the soldiers listened in as Aoi began to explain their change of plans in a serious tone as she spoke convincing them, "From the info gathered from the people of Sannomiya a unique person came here and dealt with a Horseman of John without the need of Cursed Weapon. As such we must place our new goals of meeting this person that can fight without one and ensure that he comes with us to Shibuya for… 'protection' purposes for our army!"

Listening in they all nodded but was more so curious as to who the person Jason Borne was to have caught Aoi's attention, but they nodded in agreement of the change of orders.

With that, they began to wait for the person to return wanting answers of their own in the process.

In another location away from the majority of other districts Jason soon found himself in a ruined Hosu City as he began to see the ruined train as well as more buildings along the way as he searched through the Dystopian world of Japan in this sorry state.

While looking around the whole scene he saw that there wasn't a lot of places that were standing as he views everything from his car as he spoke out loud, "Damn… everything did go the shitter if everything is like this although the items I have on me will help."

Jason was referring to his pit stops along the way he got here as he made sure to keep his <Search> and <Scanning> quirk active to help find anything of use for him later.

Upon those stops, he made sure to go inside hospitals and drug stores to get some medicine or what was left of them as he stockpile on them and used the <Double> quirk to create exact copies of them as well as create some of his own.

His versions were created using his talents of the <Ultimate Pharmacist> and <Ultimate Doctor> to know what he needed as well as use <Creation> quirk to help make more to help out when someone was injured, virus infection, or when they break their bones.

As he was searching around, he managed to detect an unusual power level as that person's heat signature was always in the high or low as he saw it.

Glancing at where it's originating from he began to follow the trail as he wonders to himself in a curious tone, "I wonder if that is where the Fifth Trumpet is at. Good thing for me then since I'm pretty much a good doctor although I wish to have a degree, the older brother would have to settle for me then."
