"Milord, someone is watching us secretly." Samantha did not move her eyes from the direction from where she had sensed a gaze on her. 

Alastair was taken aback by her words. The King had a heightened sense, more than anyone in the kingdom. He was even better than his father, the previous King, at detecting people's gazes on him. So, Samantha's words came as a surprise to him, for he did not detect anybody around him, other than his soldiers around him.

Alastair was just about to refute her claims when he too felt the presence of someone around him. He was only able to detect them only now, unlike Samantha who had sensed them long back. Alastair was surprised by her ability, and he stared at her for a few moments in amazement before he looked in the direction she was looking.
