"Ahh!" 

Lenny rose from the bed with a start, breathing heavily.

Gradually, his vision unblurred and a sharp ringing sound suddenly pierced his ears.

It was the early hours of a brand new day, and right before the sun began to rise, the set alarm from the smartphone charging atop the bedside cabinet went off.

Grrrr! Grrrr! Grrrr!

Extending his right hand to the bedside cabinet, he flipped his phone over, automatically switching off the alarm.

Turning his head, looking about the dark room, he voiced inwardly, 'Another damn nightmare…' 

February the 6th, the air was often chilly in the mornings due to the current winter season, therefore Lenny had the windows closed and curtains dropped, leaving the room in utter darkness.

Removing the blanket from his legs, his bare foot landed gently on the cold laminate floor.
