Chapter 98

Annipe,

The first queen slept in her covered chariot as it moved slowly to the outskirts of Egypt.

She kept coughing and moaning in pain as the horse slowly headed to its intended destination.

Annipe opened her mouth, asking for a cold sip of water through her chapped and cracked lips.

La Pis helped her to sit slowly and held a chalice of cold water to her mouth, and the queen sipped a few drops.

Then she bent over to cough it out, then blood followed. Dark and sour, hurting her already aching throat.

La Pis, along with two servants, helped the queen to lie back down after cleaning her mouth and chin.

"My queen, this is excessive. You can't head to the temple while you are sick like that. We must head back to the palace so the royal physician can find a cure for your illness."

The older woman said in a firm but shaky voice and Annipe shook her head vigorously.
