Better than pretense
Tamako waved
"See you tomorrow" Kyosuke said
And they left
"Well I'm definitely going to investigate the director or maybe I shouldn't " Kisaki sensei thought staring at their retreating figures .
Tamako,Itachi and Kyosuke talked about what to do this coming weekend as they walked down the hallway ,
when someone suddenly pulled Tamako into a hug from behind, without thinking both Kyosuke and Itachi turned and gave the person a bone crushing punch causing him to release Tamako and fall on his butt while Kyosuke caught Tamako in his arms
"Argh! my precious face ,what have I done to the deserve this ,I just wanted a hug" A familiar voice wailed clutching his face and abdomen ,they didn't hold back their strength at all, Miyano and Masato ran to Inumaki's side
Finally Itachi and Kyosuke realized their mistake
"We're sorry" Kyosuke scratched the back of his head and smiled sheepishly while Itachi said with a blank expression "you caused your misfortune"
'Cold as ever' Masato thought.
"Are you okay?"Tamako rushed to Inumaki's side in worry
"Yes ,I won a lottery "He rolled his eyes as Masato and Miyano helped him up
"Well since your obviously okay ,how about you carry this"Tamako dumped her bag on him ,she clicked her tongue and angrily walked ahead ,
Inumaki cursed his luck and hastily walked to her side thinking of ways to pacify her.
" You guys heading home?" Miyano asked Kyosuke
" Not yet we're thinking of walking down to a restaurant that newly opened, then we head to the teahouse"Kyosuke answered
"well can we join you guys ,of course if you're willing "Tachibana spoke
Kyosuke gave Itachi a look and she nodded
"Okay, we don't mind"he answered
"Great!, Kyosuke I have this book ,I am writing could you give me some tips and maybe go through it " Yuki skipped happily to Kyosuke side she wrapped her arms around his .
Tachibana and Miyano walked together ,
Masato's lips twitched as he realized he was left behind with Itachi.
They all left the school , the atmosphere around them was cheery because Tamako and Yuki chattered a lot while the rest laughed and chipped in ,well this wasn't the case for Masato and Itachi who walked in awkward silence , Itachi had her head down and fiddling with her skirt , while Masato occasionally glanced at her sneakily .
'God! This silence is killing me' He thought
They arrived in front of the restaurant
"Oh it's even a couple restaurant [1] " Inumaki grinned reading the neon words on the huge signboard
" Let's go in , I've always wanted to go a restaurant for lovers But only Maki and Tama-chan are together "Yuki whined
"Who says you have to be dating to enter , you just need a partner who can act , afterall we're already paired up ,so let's go in and try our best "Tamako pushed her glasses and smiled mischievously
"Does anyone object " she specifically looked at Itachi who had a distressed look .
"Well since they are no objections let's go in "Yuki shamelessly clunged unto Kyosuke and they all went to the restaurant, Masato felt something was amiss but decided to play along after all Itachi was his pretend partner and he wasn't going to let his opportunity slip out of his hand ,he looked at Itachi who hadn't move an inch she just stared at the disappearing figures , now only the two of them were left alone .
"What's wrong " he turned to her
"No no it's nothing let's go in"she replied with solemnity as she walked ahead but Masato held her cold wrist so she turned and faced him
"We can stay outside if you don't want to go in , it's okay "
"But -"
"No buts , you're clearly uncomfortable with the arrangements "
'does she really don't want to go with me' he thought dejected .
Itachi wasn't a fan of romance and never thought about the topic, when talking about love , Itachi would be silent as she knew nothing about it , she just saw it as a smirk of irrelevance,
so entering a restaurant where she would have to act lovey dovey , was like bringing a fish out of water for no logical reason ,no way she's doing that ,
Itachi knew he really wanted to play pretend and for some reason she decided not to be harsh
so she looked down and said quietly
" I don't wanna go in "
Masato became more crest fallen hearing her
"I saw a park near by ,we could wait there for them "
"Really?"
"Sure"
Masato was all smiles again as he skillfully Intertwined their cold and warm fingers like it was the most natural thing to do,
Itachi Itachi didn't even notice this and just texted her location to Tamako
And headed to the park , they sat down on a bench that had a roof over it , in silence .
Masato thought of how to start up a conversation when Itachi asked
" Are you hungry? "
"Yes ,I am " he answered absent-mindedly
Itachi took his hand which pulled him back to reality and put something on it .
"I heard you like blue berry muffins ,so take it "
Masato was beyond happy ,Itachi was willing to share something with him , of course he would happily accept it .
He held the muffin in his hand carefully like it was a glass figurine
He and took a clean bite , closing his eyes he savoured the the Rich taste
He turned to Itachi who had an empty gaze as she nibbled lightly on her muffin ....
' So cute!!!!! ' Masato chuckled
and for a while they are in comfortable silence, Masato went stiff when he felt a cold weight on his shoulders, he turned to see Itachi had fallen asleep on him causing is heart to miss a beat ,
he stared at her face which was partly covered by her vantablack hair.
Taking a bold advantage of this heaven gifted opportunity, Masato scooted closer till their bodies touched, he gently lifted her head and placed it on his chest causing her body to dangerously lean on him .
He rested his chin on her head and stroked her chilly hair , he had the urge to loose her hair tie ,so the beautiful vantablack could freely flow but he held himself , despite the clothes he could still feel the cold temperature her body emitted, today it wasn't freezing but enjoyable .
He closed his eyes burning this moment into his whole being, forget playing pretend partners... this was a thousand times better .
