CHAPTER NINE

I don't have to say the word to make the boulder stop anymore but it is hardly an achievement as the boulder comes to a halt, mid-descent, when I turn to look at it.
"You're getting better," Raeina comments.
"Are we going to do the same thing over and over again?" I mutter. "I can stop that stupid thing. Now what?"
"You're in a mood today," the older woman studies me.
"I'm always in a mood," I shrug.
"Not like this," she looks interested. "This wouldn't happen to have anything to do with your little friend showing up every day to talk to you? You threw quite a tantrum the other day."
I glare at her, "What? You're spying on me now? I can't even get privacy?"
She shrugs, "I'm observing you. Temperamental little thing, aren't you? You won't even talk to him."
"And you care because?"
Raeina sighs, "Young love."
"I don't love him."
"Sure you do," she almost seems amused. "Did he break your heart?"
"Is it any of your business?"
