CHAPTER TEN
Taylor Night
My days are hard, my nights harder.
With this new task, I've learned that while my body can dispel poison, healing internal injuries is faster and relatively less painful. I get a two-day reprieve when Raeina takes a look at my slow healing ability.
"You are taking your sweet time," she sounds disappointed. "Perhaps, I was too hard on you."
"You think?!" I gasp at her while my right arm twitches, covered in vicious venom stings which are turning black. In an hour, the black will recede and my body will neutralize the poison.
"Hmm," she studies my arm, "or perhaps I'm being too lenient on you."
"You try to kill me on a daily basis!" I howl at her. "What more do you want?!"
"Alright!" She looks annoyed like I'm some small gnat buzzing around her face. "Take two days off and we'll try again."
