The Spellthief and the Planeswalker

The battle raged on as the Behemoth and I fought in the underwater dome of a coliseum. I felt so alive, my magic was not limited to just water anymore. And I was now using magic as if I was performing a dance.

The flames danced along the breeze, the waters twirled in chorus with stem and leaves. Light and darkness performed a mesmerizing yet ominous macabre.

The behemoth roared as it took damage upon damage and it couldn't do anything. It stood up in it's hindlegs and bellowed loudly, and a huge globe of fire began to hurtle down towards me.

"O waters of creation, dance with the waves; Tidal Wave!"

A huge torrent of water blocks the globe of flames and produced a steam cloud that covers the battle field. And I got confident on it:

"Partake in boiling water; Raging Mist!"

The whole mist began to condensate and a huge pool of flames appeared beneath the Behemoth, the flames were keeping it in check as the hot water above descends towards the flaming pool. As soon as it made contact, a roar of scalding heat bears down on the chimera.

The behemoth was limping but growling defiantly. Bearing out its fangs as it snapped viciously.

I looked and listened around, the crowd was going wild, and they were chanting 'End!' to the fight. I glanced at the arbiter with tired eyes, taking shallow and rapid breaths in between. The arbiter was displeased, he clearly did not expect me to use my full potential. But he had no choice but to give the thumbs down. Then the system suddenly re-appears:

-Conditions Updated!-

Defeat the Chimera 'Behemoth' with a powerful Fire Spell to receive an additional award.

One spell... One spell to destroy the chimera. Then I looked above me and an idea formed in my head, I took a deep breath and began to chant:

"Light of the horizon sear your name unto fate; Sunburst!"

A globe of flames appeared from above that gradually increases in size the moment it descends, engulfing everything in a heat wave, even I felt the blistering force of my magic.

The Behemoth roared as the spell bears down on it, in a few seconds as the light dies out and the heat cools away, only a huge crater and a dark spot remained.

-Conditions fulfilled!-

Spellcaster Yman Caliesto has been awarded with the: "Script of Dimensions" and the Skill Scry has transformed to a permanent Skill "Discern".

-You have leveled up!-

Current Level: 13^ - 16

-Discern-

Rank: Epic

Allows the user to Bypass level requirements and has a higher chance of success to see weak points. It can also view the skills and abilities used, any available buffs in weapons or artifacts, as well as determine their grade level.

-Script of Space-

Allows the user to use Gravity-Based Magic and the ability to manipulate Dimensional Magic.

The crowd gave an explosive round of applause, some even throw sea anemone and maybe even a jellyfish. That distracted me, I can celebrate what I got later.

"I've done your little show. Now what's your verdict." I said and the crowd went OOOOHHH!

The arbiter's mouth twitched as he stands up.

"You showed mastery over your powers I admit. But that is far from being 'harmless'." He said and that struck a nerve.

I was about to say something when the crowd gasped in awe as they look at someone or something behind me. I turned around and I found... a Human?! Walking towards me.

His silver eyes gleamed like a pearl underneath an ocean, his black hair as dark as the night sky, and his tanned skin was perfectly sculpted as if he was a supermodel for speedos.

"G-grand Commander! This is a surprise." The arbiter said and I stayed on high alert and used my new skill:

-Discern-

Name: Cyrus Callahan

Level: 91

Class: Planeswalker

Race: Human

Weak Points: None

A human with no weak points? That's basically cheating. And... a Planeswalker? That's a class I never wrote about.

His gaze fell on me and he was sizing me up, and he sighed.

"So this is the new challenger? A fellow human? Where did he spawn from?" He asked, his voice sounded so young.

"He was charged for desecrating the holy grounds." The arbiter said and the Commander's expression turned dark.

"Is that true?" He asked and he drew his sword.

"Don't listen to him Commander Cyrus, he has a silver tongue."

The pressure he exudes was on par with that on Reiko. An Acolyte?!

"H-hang on!" I raised my hands in defense. But he plunged his sword on the ground and a whole field was created. And once the field closed a sharp pain occurred in my head. I was about to ask Zero, but he wasn't responding.

I used Discern on what he did.

-Planeswalker Sanctuary activated-

The field increases Cyrus Callahan's strength and magic power, and also decreases the opponent's combat prowess. It also Isolates everyone, including Arcani.

I could feel a huge pressure as the field finished materializing. Cyrus was not joking around. His sword gleamed in a dangerous purple aura.

"Let's see if your victory against that chimera was no fluke." He said as he lunged at breakneck speed. Martializing magic against him would be folly, so I took the hit.

His sword made a deep gash on my chest as he sends me flying towards the end of the field. But the field rebounds me back, as if it was preventing me from escaping.

My senses were going nuts, so this is the power of a high level human.

"Stand. Otherwise, This field was summoned for a pointless reason."

"Reason... You attacked me for no reason!" I snapped as fire energy manifested from my fists.

Cyrus kept his guard up, but I sent five rounds of Fireball at him. He deflected them with ease but his vision was covered.

"The flames will roar; Burning Strike!"

Three fire spears appeared from above and cascades towards Cyrus, but he also deflects them easily as if they were candle flames. But the smoke covered his eyes, letting me close in on him, my palms brimming with Light Energy.

"Made you look!" I said and unleashed Divine Streak at him. He leapt to the air and throws his blade, which I sidestepped to avoid.

"Missed!" I called out, but out of nowhere something blinked beside me and a knee connects with my left side, making me flinch in pain.

"Made you look." He said as he grabs me by the nape as he delivers another knee to my midsection. But the impact was delayed.

"I'll see you later down at the catacombs. Until then... Sleep." He said as he proceeds with the forceful knee, making me cough out air and blood.

My eyes were spinning and my hearing was muffled. And the next thing I knew... I saw the figure of Kairos saluting to Cyrus as he takes my limp body. And Cyrus raising his sword in a victorious manner.

'Yman... Yman wake up!'

My eyes opened suddenly as Zero's voice suddenly re-surfaced. My body automatically rose and a sudden, sharp pain brings me back to reality. I was back in my cell, but at least the ambiance was a bit... better?

'I'll see you later down at the catacombs...' Those were Cyrus' words.

I stripped off the suit that Elder Nagatsugikiri gave me, and my mid section was blue and sore. The force of a Level 90 Human is no joke.

'Analysis: Ribs are slightly cracked but not too life threatening. Recommended action: Rest'

Gee thanks a lot.

"I see you're awake now."

I looked from my jail bars, and Cyrus was now wearing a more casual clothing. A black buckled shirt, and sea green trousers with matching flip-flops. But I felt like I was glaring at him because he raised his hands in defense.

"Relax... I didn't want to create suspicion from the Arbiter. Which is why I had to be... Forceful." He said and I relaxed a bit. Cyrus sits down and relaxes too.

"By the state of your clothes, you were one of the displaced." Cyrus said as he types something in his watch.

"Displaced?" I asked.

"Temporal Displacement. Your aura feels different too. And if you came here from Arcania, that would mean... You caught the displeasure of the Sages." Cyrus said.

Displeasure? So those old fogies really did screw with me?!

'You made it easy for them too.' Zero notes.

'Can it.' I said.

"But... how did you know about my situation?" I asked.

"I'm a Planeswalker. The Academy has dispatched me here because this was a hotspot for temporal anomalies. You were successful in not dying. But the problem is... You altered something." Cyrus informed me.

"W-what did I alter?" I asked.

"The Dracaena... She wasn't supposed to be found. Plus... at the Temple of Palamedes. You made contact with the consciousness of the God of Serenity."

The God of Serenity... Aurane. The Successor of Palamedes, the former God of Serenity.

"I did hear him... At least, I think it was." I scratched my head.

"Did he sound young?" Cyrus asked and I perked up, he contemplates as if confirming it.

"So Little Lord Aurane did established a connection with you. How and why? Are you an acolyte?"

"No I'm not. But I did talk with Arbor." I admit and Cyrus raised an eyebrow.

"So you met with the Lord of the Wild. How was he?" Cyrus asked.

"So and so. He was infected by a disease caused by the chimeras." I told him.

Cyrus pondered. And he unlocked the gate.

"What are you doing?" I asked and he slaps something on my wrist. A watch or some sorts.

"Getting you back to your time. If anything, the Arbiter will murder you in secret." He said.

"Wait what?!" I stammered.

Cyrus leads me to the outskirts of the dungeon, and what I found out is that I was underneath the Palace. The whole place was dazzling as I wrote it. Cobblestones of myriad colors, the scent of the salt in the air. The Naga really do know how to build a paradise that would make every surface dweller purple with envy.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

But Cyrus was focused, and he didn't even made a tiny reply. He leads me towards a cobbled archway that leads towards what appears like a gate. Waiting for us, was Captain Kairos and... Kim.

"You finally came." Kim said, her face was a bit flustered.

"What's going on?" I asked Cyrus, who was fiddling with his watch again and I turned to Captain Kairos.

But the captain didn't say anything as well. Their silence was deafening.

"The gate's calibration is almost set. Cadet, it's time." Cyrus said.

"Time for what?" I asked.

"Yes commander... Time for what?" The arbiter's voice spawned out of nowhere, sending chills and annoyance down my spine.

"What are you doing here milord?" Captain Kairos asked, but his voice sounded strained like he wasn't expecting him.

"Save your acting Kairos, I know a sympathetic naga towards a surface dweller when I see one." He said as he dismissed Kairos' words. "See your majesty... traitors left and right."

Standing behind them was the Crown Prince Salazar, who was already expecting this to happen.

"Surface dwellers... Always so dishonest. My father was a fool for trusting you Commander. No... Cyrus. I never trusted you from the very beginning." Salazar said as he takes out his trident, one laced with emerald poison.

"You have two options: Release the Dracaena and the young surface dweller, or resist and die." Salazar said.

"What will you do with us?" Kim asked the Prince and he scoffs.

"Isn't it obvious? I will still take you as my concubine while the boy will be my personal slave."

"No thanks." Kim and I said flatly.

"Then so be it. Leave none alive, but leave the boy to me." Salazar said as he orders the Arbiter to isolate me from everyone.

"I'll enjoy killing you. You killed my pet boy, now... you'll pay for it." He said as he lunged with that dangerously envenomed trident.

With no weapon to defend myself, I resorted to dodging. But my injury from tanking Cyrus' hits were still throbbing, making me move a bit sluggish. But it did gave me time to use Discern on him.

Name: Prince Salazar Nagakaboros

Title: Spell Stealer

Race: Demi-Human (Naga/Human)

Spell Stealer? What was that?

"Slow and weak, how dare you poison the mind of my dracaena!" He said and stirs up dirt towards my eyes, blinding me momentarily. Then I felt an oppressive force coiling around me and squeezes the life out of me.

"Insignificant child! Your magic is wasted on you!" He sinks his fangs on my right shoulder and instead of injecting venom. It felt like he was... drinking my blood.

"Back off!" I said and zapped him with lightning.

He retreated and recoiled from the shock, but then I realized his scales were... morphing.

"That was tantalizing. But I want more." He said as his palms began to manipulate Fire, Wind, and Light.

'Yman... He's the worst match up against you.' Zero warned as I got bombarded with Fire magic.

This has went from bad to worse.
