Turmoil Beneath the Waves

"What's the matter! Where is that bravado of yours?!" Salazar taunts as he launched a condensed pocket of wind and fire at me.

I would've blocked it with the same elements, but... I just realized that I couldn't.

'Zero... What happened to me?' I asked my AI.

'Your Elemental Affinity with those elements are blocked. It's nearly impossible for you to use Fire, Wind, and Light.' Zero informed me.

The Spellthief. What a troublesome opponent.

'But... isn't Limit Break supposed to protect me from restrictions?' I asked.

'Yman, focus!'

Right... I'll ask more about Limit Break later. Right now, I have a fight to win.

Trident and Magic... a deadly combination. A mid ranged weapon armed with my powers.

His fire magic outperforms mine. As if... He was used to it.

"Where was that gusto you've shown during the duel against my pet?!" Salazar said as he wills the winds to vacuum me to the air. The pressure so strong that I was lifted 20 feet in the air, and as I was dangling there like a powerless victim, a spear of light and fire smites me back to the ground.

My body roared with pain. Searing burns and blisters were sending waves of shock from every fiber of my being. I was in tears, this amount of pain was enough to break my confidence.

'Warning! You're seriously hurt! Yman, disengage!!'

'If I could, I would!' I screamed at Zero.

Standing up proved to be a challenge. My whole body was shivering from the agony. And I was half-dazed from the impact and the pain, I struggled to comprehend the feeling of heat about to vaporize me. Fortunately... I rolled to the left.

'That was very narrow, but good job avoiding that!' Zero compliments me. 'Yman, you know you can use healing magic right?'

'I don't want him to know that.' I told him, plus, most of my healing magic are light based, so I can't remind him of that.

"Want me to tell you something?" Salazar began as he glides towards me, when he reached the floor he brandished his trident, scoring a hit on my temple. It not only disoriented me, but it also severed my connection with Zero. He then began to coil around me and compressed his body on me again. I could feel cracks in my ribs now as I began to taste my blood.

"The Surface Dwellers are a sweet treat. They gave me a chance to become the Crown Prince. They displaced me here as a trial run, and lo and behold it was all too easy for me to secure my spot. I told them I mastered Time Magic, and all the better, to maintain my strength, they fed me mages."

He was coiling even harder, and was prepared to sink his fangs on me again.

"But the last surface dweller, oh his blood was the one. A delicacy to die for! Yours reminds me of his, a bit unrefined, but oh so sweet. Who knew the mind of the brilliant creator of the Arcana would be so tantalizing. Now... I will savor you."

He sank his fangs on my neck again and I screamed in agony. I could feel my mana being drained and my strength being sapped like water from a jug.

Once he was done, He cupped my face, I was having a a hard time looking at him, my eyes were hazy from the blood. His grip softened as I was going limp.

"I wanted to drain more, but after having that second sip, your blood... It's sweeter, no. The sweetest form, so you are one who bears Ichor." Salazar smirked as he shows his palms. But, the elements that dance in his hands were still the same. Making Zero ping.

'He has a limit of what magic to steal.' Zero said which made me bash Salazar's face with my head.

He recoiled and I grabbed whatever elemental orb he held and retreated with a flood of water. The water churned around him as his palm was now missing the element of wind.

"My turn." I said and winds swirled around me.

"O violent and darting wind. Cross Winds!"

Two blades of coalesced winds formed and raced in highspeed. The two winds converged and formed an X as they slashed at Salazar's direction, making his face writhe in pain.

"Insolent surface dweller!" He screamed shrilly and ignited his trident to a blaze.

"Feel a galactic surge, Blue Sphere!"

A huge globe of water formed above Salazar and dropped down in a mighty splash. The trident was doused and Salazar was sputtering clear, fresh water.

But he slashed it away, but one thing's for sure, he doesn't like Fresh Water.

"Mere trickery won't save you!" He lunged forward but I rolled to the left and pointed at his position, and a gush of pure water envelopes him, he dropped his trident from the surprise.

Being trapped in fresh water, he tried desperately to escape, but O kept expanding the sphere until he collapsed. The Naga couldn't breathe in that type of water it seems.

I slammed him down on the earth, and he lay down, unconscious.

'Was that even necessary?' Zero asked.

'He bit me more than once.' I told my AI and, for good measure, willed the Seaweed to wrap around his mouth, arms, and tail as I retrieved my Fire and Light magic.

The surrounding area began to swirl, and from the looks of things, my friends won.

"Kid!" Cyrus called out and Kairos and Kim came toward me too. Their expressions wracked with concern.

"What happened? You look like shit." Kairos said.

"Gee... Thanks." I rolled my eyes. The three of them had no problem with dispatching the Arbiter and the guards, but Salazar had me in a difficult position.

"I have to tell you something." I began as I pointed at Salazar's limp body.

I started from how Salazar was a displaced entity, and how the Spellcasters that were sent here met their demise at his hands so he can grow more powerful. When I was finished talking, a notification screen appeared.

'You can now use two types of elemental Magic in quick Succession. Congratulations Yman.' Zero said.

"You have to get out of here." Cyrus brought me back to my present situation. The more I remain, the more danger I am exposed to. Plus, I have to show those old fools who they are messing with.

"But how? I don't know where the exit point is." I informed them, but Kim raised her hand.

"There is a way. Remember the temple?" Kim asked

Kairos raised his eyes, and Cyrus nods. "I see. It's worth a shot.

"What's going on?" I inquired, and Kairos sighed.

"Let's Wake Up the Lord." Kim finally said. By the Lord, meaning the God of Serenity.

"We must head for the Temple Sanctuary, quickly." Kairos grabs and carried me, riding a Naga was a weird experience. But we hit a snag. The sea was tempestuous, and crossing with only the four of us can prove dangerous. But we were only a few meters away from the temple. The bridge was swallowed by the tempest, and from the looks of things, something else was swimming in those waters.

"How can we cross now?" Kim inquired.

I looked at Cyrus, but he made a face.

"Just because I'm a Planeswalker doesn't mean I can stop this." He said.

But I could hear from behind us. A commotion, as if...

"The Battalion is here!" Kairos shouted and without warning, he grabbed me and Kim and, with supreme strength, he tossed us high.

"GO!" Kairos said as he and Cyrus prepared to stall the battalion on their own. Without even our tacit approval of that plan.

I pulled Kim near me, and condensed a sphere of wind and water as we landed roughly in front of the temple.

Kim grabbed my hand and led me towards the temple's door. The aura of the Captive God was still there.

"Lord of Serenity! Are you there?!" Kim called out from the door.

There was no response. Kim then placed her hand on the door.

"Please... We need your help." Kim called out.

But from behind us, the waters began to churn, and in a flash of lightning, a sea serpent rose from the waves, its scales gleamed a silver hue as it faced us.

I got between it and Kim, who was shaking from fear. Why... Why is this happening?

All I wanted was to go home. So why am I suffering like this?! Why am I in this hopeless situation.

I looked at Kim, she was still pleading for Aurane to answer her. Then at Captain Kairos and Cyrus, battling life and limb just to protect us.

'Zero... What am I doing here anyways?' I asked. 'Why am I here in this world?'

But my AI has no response to this. So, I chose to look at the Serpent with a tired but irritated gaze. I never became so annoyed, so angry... At the Lightning, the transmigration, and most importantly, the Primordial One.

"COME ON THEN!" I shouted at the serpent as I readied my spells. Ready to fight to the death if possible.

Then I sensed a powerful source of mana emanating from the door, and in a few seconds, a blast of energy shot upwards. Everyone stopped on their tracks. But Kim was the first to unfreeze. She grabbed my hand and pushed the door open. And she hands over her necklace. Her eyes brimming with tears.

"Go back to your timeline. Fix this!" She said as everything went white. All I could remember seeing was Kim closing the door, and the voice of Aurane telling me to set him free.
