Chapter 9

The winter Fairy

*Two weeks after*

Elena had trouble sleeping as she had a constant reminder of her mother in her mind. She tried her best to look for a way to get her mind off it.

Elvenia too tried to get Elena outside and asked her to follow her out in her errands which could help Elena get distracted but still with her efforts she became more and more distant from Elevina. Elevina, really worried and troubled, tried to talk to her.

" Elena please talk to me?! What else do you want me to do?! I have done everything I could but I feel you're drifting further away from me. " she said in an anguish manner.

" Look seriously, I'm fine, I just…, nevermind. Do you know how it feels to think you ever have a mother your whole life and it just comes to you by surprise. " she said as she buried her face in her hands.

" I understand, but I feel you shouldn't bother you that much. You will find out who you really are when the time comes okay? I'll be with you throughout your journey." she said, gazing straight into her eyes.

" Thank you Elvenia, you're the best! And I am happy to have met you." she said, giving her a hug.

Elevina thought for a moment and thought of a way for Elena to find out more about who she really is.

"umm…I was thinking of an idea of how you could find out more about yourself but I…" she said, still lost in her thoughts.

"Say it , tell me I am listening." she said hesitantly.

" Why don't we see Vinix and ask her if there's a way you could find out more about yourself? What do you think?" she said, crossing her arms together.

"Yes! That's a great idea! We have to go now! Come on hurry up!" she said as she flew off to meet Vinix.

"Hey! Elena slows down, we need to think this straight! Ugh, nevermind." she said as she flew after her.

Getting to Vinix place, they both approached her cottage. Elena gave a loud knock on the door. Vinix gets shocked as she spills out a portion which poured on her changing her hair colour. Upset, she opens the door.

" For goodness sake! You made me pour away my portion!" she said, opening the door angrily.

"What happened to your hair? " Elena said, glancing at her hair as Elevina stood by the door glancing at her too.

"What do you think? You made me pour my portion mistakenly when you knocked at the door. " she said with a dead stare.

"Am sorry. Actually I need your help." Elena said in a low tone.

Vinix lets them inside her cottage as they sit down on a chair. Waiting for Vinix to come.

Vinix arrives as Elena tells her about her mother and what she had told her. Vinix listened patiently to Elena and suggested a place where she could know more about herself.

"I have heard everything you have said. Luckily for you I know of a place called the sanctuary of Alfea. It's where you could find fairies who are buried for years. You could use the opportunity to know more about yourself Elena. Elena thanks Vinix and asks her how she could go to the sanctuary of Alfea. Vinix gave her a crystal wand.

"Here, take this crystal wand and use it to draw a door but that would be 12noon in the midnight." she said, handing the wand to Elena.

"Ok I understand, thank you Vinix." Elena said happily.

" It's my pleasure, just be careful. Go Elena and search for what you're looking for and may the moon God be with you." She said as she watched Elena and Elvenia flew away.

Elena went to Elvenia's house to stay with her as she got prepared to go to the sanctuary of Alfea. Elevina meets Elena and asks her if she is ready.

" I know you're serious about knowing more about yourself but are you sure you're ready to know the truth about you? Don't you think you should think it through at least?" she said, giving Elena a stare.

"Yes, I am sure about it, you just have to trust me. " she said, placing a hand on her shoulder.

The time for Elena to enter the sanctuary had reached as she brought out the crystal wand and drew a door, immediately a mist of cloud appeared as it formed a door which allowed both of them to pass through.

Getting Inside they see a trail of dead roses which they followed till they got to a hill where they saw a lot of graves with a symbol on them. They both gazed far and near until they saw something luminous coming at the end of the grave.

" This is really scary, look at all those grave Elvenia." Elena said, pointing at the graves.

" Well, what did I tell you? You would have listened to me but you didn't." Elevina said as she took a step backwards.

" Wait! Look! Over there there's something shining, we should check it out." Elena said as she got ready to fly.

"Are you crazy! You're kidding right? I just told you how stupid it was to even come here in the first place and now you want to fly over to a mysterious light which you clearly don't know if it's a trap or not?! Count me out, I'm not going." Elevina said as she turned around to go back.

"Please! I know that but what if that's my only chance of finding who I really am." she said as she stopped Elevina from leaving.

Elevina looking at her saw her pitiful face of desperation as she agreed to come with her.

Soon after, they flew past the graveyard and got to where the luminous light was coming from. Holding each other's hand they entered through the light but didn't come in together. Elena noticed that Elvenia wasn't with her again.

"Elevina! Elevina! Where are you?!" Elena said as she flew around in search of her.

" Please come out! It's all my fault! I'm sorry! Can you hear me! Where are you?!" she said as she fell to her knees sobbing.

Really confused and lost, she decided to move on and that's when she came across a beautiful garden filled with white lilies. Seeing it she felt a bit relieved but sad too. Curious, she took a look at some written words which

said " If you want to know your past, pick up the can of glass, a drop of water is all I ask."

Elena, being smart, looks around and sees a cam of glass and filling it up with water from a puddle she pours the water on one of the lily plants and immediately starts talking to her.

Elena gets really shocked and scared as she takes two steps backwards.

"What are you supposed to be? A talking Lily?" she said in a trembling voice.

"Well you could say that but let's say I could help you tell you about yourself if you only trust me." the talking lily said as it brought out a tiny cup.

"What should I do with it? Elena said curiously.

"Give me something of yours and I'll tell you everything you want to know about yourself elena." the talking lily said as it waited patiently.

Elena checks what she had on her, luckily for her she came along with her pixie dust which she poured Inside the tiny cup. Immediately the talking lily absorbs it and tells her everything she knows about her and the secrets about her mother.

Carefully listening to what the talking plant had said she got really scared about a statement the plant had mentioned concerning her friend Elvenia, and how her mother was killed being a winter fairy as she screamed out loud in agony and pain.

"No!No! That's not true! No! No! Ahhh! Ahhh! Ahhh!" she said, screaming on top of her voice.

"Elena, Elena! Elena! Snap out of it!" Elevina said as he came to drag her out.

Elevina hears a flower talking bringing out light and she uses her power to cut out the source of the light which causes the lily to die off instantly. She reaches out to Elena trying to get her back to herself.

"No! No! That's not true! It's not true!" Elena said sobbing and shouting.

"Hey! Elena! Listen to me, can you hear me! I'm here ok? I'm here? You can calm down now. Elevina said as she hugged her.

After some minutes Elena calms down and stops crying, realizing a hand wrapped around her body. Gazing up she she's Elevina.

"Oh thank Goodness! you're okay. I was really scared. Thought I had lost you. Am sorry for being selfish and not paying attention to what you told me. she said as she wrapped her hand on Elevina.

"It's fine, I understand. I'm glad you're ok too. What did the lily plant say to you anyway?" she said as she dragged Elena from the grown.

"Ummm, it's nothing serious. Just told me about the death of my mom and how she was once a queen before she died." she said gazing at Elvenia.

"How were you able to find me?" Elena said anxiously.

"Well I just heard your voice from afar and I followed it till it brought me here to this garden. It's time we got going before we're stuck here for good." Elevina said as she brought out the Crystal wand and drew a door which brought them back to Winterfell.

*One week later*

After Elena and Elvenia's journey to the sanctuary of Alfea. Elena didn't tell Elevina everything the lily plant told her and decided to keep it to herself. There was a new shop in Winterfell which a fairy built called Cartmax. It was filled with artifacts of historical items and materials.

Elena, still bothered about what the lily plant had told her, decides to take a look at the new shop. She doesn't tell Elvenia as she flew in the following day. Arriving in the shop she sees so many old items which she thought never existed. Flying around she sees a wired card and curious she picks them up still trying to understand what it is until a voice broke up the silence.

"Ehmm, what do you think you're doing Miss…? The fairy said, wearing his glasses.

"Nothing…it's Elena. I just heard of a new shop in Winterfell and I came by to take a look. I came across those cards which looked quite interesting." she said, scratching her head.

"I see, well your welcome. My name is Dennis. A histological fairy. I deal with a lot of ancient artifacts as you can see. What you're holding my dear are called tarot cards. These cards read your future about you if you are strong and willing to know what your future is." he said, bringing the tarot cards and placing them on the table.

"Am ready, I want to know. Show me!" Elena said confidently.

"Hmmm…I see your strength, very well if you wish so." he said as he arranged the tarot cards.

After some minutes of arranging and placing the cards. He asked Elena to pick up three cards which he will interpret for her. Telling her she only has one chance. Elena, staring at the cards for a few minutes, finally makes up her mind and picks three cards.

"I pick this, this , and this. She said as she looked at the Fairy.

"Ah! Quite a card you picked. What I see in your future Elena is pain, misery, betrayal, and death! You must be careful Elena for there are a lot of obstacles and challenges you will face! You better get prepared for them as soon as possible!" Dennis said as he packed up all the cards.

Elena in shock didn't know what to say as she became scared and worried about what he had told her. Did he mean Elevina dying or what? He said in her thoughts. Quickly she flew off to be alone for some time.

After some thoughts concerning what the historical fairy had told her she decides to go for a fly in Springfield to clear her head. Flying by she sees a little girl fairy crying alone on a tree. She immediately stops by and approaches her saying.

"Hey? What's the matter? Are you lost? Hungry? Were you left alone here?" Elena said, looking around to see if she would see someone.

"No, not really. I was sent to get something for my sick mom but I got lost on the way home. I don't know what to do." she said, sobbing.

"Awww, it's fine little girl I'll help you find your way back to your mom okay?" Elena said as she wiped off her tears.

"What's your name? Little girl?" Elena said as she got ready to flew with her.

"My name is Mona." she said in a low tone.

"Oh Mona, that's a beautiful name. Ok Mona, let's find your place and take you to your mom." she said as she held her hand both flying off together.

Elena and Mona flew off in search of Mona's house. Elena pixie dust had poured all over leaving a trail which she didn't know as she went mid way from where she was. Mona had recognized her home as she pointed the place to Elena. Elena and her flew down where she dropped off Mona as she headed off to take her leave. As she was about to take off she got captured, tied up and dragged inside a tiny hut. Panicking, she shouts for help.

"Help! Someone help me please! I can't breathe. Please help!" she said as she tried to gasp for air.

She sees a Shadow passing by and sees it was Mona through a small opening on the door of the hut only one of get eyes could see through it. Mona stood there gazing at her as she didn't say a word. Elena says.

"What's going on here? Please help me! I think I was kidnapped." she said banging on the door.

Mona gave out an evil laugh saying.

"I can't believe you fell for it? How stupid of you to have believe I lost my way. Seriously?! What were you thinking trying to be a hero? Too bad you're stuck here and nobody can hear your cries. Save your strength for the rest okay?" Mona said as she left Elena.

"Hey! Get back here! You can't do this to me please…you can't!.... help…me…" Elena Said as she fell down crying hoping that someone rescued her.
