Chapter 10-The Elite Ten of Overworld

"It seems you've got yourself in some trouble, Shin." A soft female voice spoke.

Shin opened his eyes, he was in the dimension of red, blue, and purple lights. There stood a woman with a petite build, she had red hair and violet eyes.

"Who are you?"

"Who I am doesn't matter, don't you want to save your friends?"

"Huh?"

"I'm currently fixing you up right now so don't worry."

Shin lifted his head, he stared at the three holes in his chest. They were slowly healing.

"Did I...die?"

"You did, but you will be reborn soon." Another female voice answered.

Shin turned towards the other female, she looked the same as the red-haired woman but instead, she had blue hair.

"Who are you two? Where am I?"

"Your consciousness was brought here, our soul." The blue-haired woman replied.

"As I said, who we are doesn't matter. I believe you should save your friends. I don't think they can deal with that creature themselves." The red-haired woman told Shin as she pointed upwards.

Shin looks up and a projection of the fight appeared, there he saw Rika and Lana facing against Apex. They were both laying on the ground, defeated. Shin wanted to stop Apex but he remembers how weak he was, he dropped on his knees.

"I can't do that. I don't have the strength." Shin told the two.

The two ladies looked down at Shin. Then the two slapped him on both cheeks.

"You think that strength means everything?"

"There was a reason why we chose you."

"Huh? Chose me? What did you choose me for?"

"We chose you because we thought that you would be the one to save us. But it looks like we were wrong. Your nothing special."

Shin clenched his hands. He glared at both of them, tears formed in his eyes.

"Of course I'm not special, and You chose me to do that? Don't make me laugh, I don't even have the strength to take care of my mother. That can't be the reason why you chose me."

Tears fell down his cheeks. He was disappointed in himself for being weak and was also worried about his mother. The thought of her being alone by herself was crushing his heart.

The blue-haired woman would hold onto his arm. She crouched down and spoke to him,

"We chose you because you have the potential to possess our power."

Shin wiped his tears,

"What?"

"Your potential has yet to be realized. We can help you with that and you can become the strongest player there is."

Shin stood up and his expression became serious again.

"How?"

"It's easy, just answer this question..."

"Ok, what is it."

The two women got together. Then they smiled,

"Which one of us is more attractive?"

Shin's eyes went blank. Shin was stunned and confused.

`Are these two stupid or something?`

"GIVE ME A SERIOUS QUESTION DAMN IT!"

The two burst into tears, laughing.

Then their expression became serious.

"Here's our real question, do you want to unlock your potential and receive a second chance? Or meet your deceased father in heaven and be free from all the violence. Your choice."

Shin was stunned by this question. It was a hard question. He could die right now and see his father. But he could also become stronger and live life again. Shin bit his fingers and he thought carefully. The two looked at him, waiting for an answer.

"You don't have much time left, your friends are about to die."

Shin clenched his hands and got up. He then looked at both of them. He opened his mouth,

"My father is dead, he doesn't want his son to die as well. Resurrect me, I want to kill that son of a b*tch." Shin stated as he pointed at Apex.

Both of them smiled. Then the blue-haired walked up to him.

"Well then, I'll break that chain that holds you down." She pulled Shin towards her and caressed him. Kissing him on the forehead.

Shin felt overflowing energy entering him. The blue-haired women would slowly fade away and Shin's eyes would flash blue, a black horn slowly grew from the left side of his head. The red-haired stared at him and smiled. Shin would be surrounded by blue and black electricity. He would slowly start fading away.

"Go save your friends now."

Shin disappears. The red-haired woman looks up at the projected image and watched.

"It's time..."

Date: 9/25/3020, Monday

Time: 12:00

Shin laid down on a hospital bed. He slowly opened his eyes.

"Huh...where am I?"

Shin got up from the bed and looked around.

"You're in the school infirmary." A male voice spoke.

"Huh?" There, sitting in front of him was a man with blonde hair, green eyes, and pale skin. He was in a school uniform and had glasses on.

"Umm...who are you and how long have you been there?"

"How rude of me." The man stood up and fixed his glasses.

"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Alexandro Lancelot. And I'm a paladin."

"Paladin?"

"It's the next stage for a holy knight."

Alexandro smiled and he tucked his hands in his pockets. He then tilted his head,

"By the way, those two have been here way before me." He said as he pointed at the blanket.

"Hmm?" Shin looked at his blanket. He took it off and there, lying down on the bed with him was two Rika and Lana, sleeping and holding on to him.

Shin was silent for a second, then panicked.

"WHAT THE HELL?!?!"

Shin fell off the bed, knocking Lana down with him.

'THUD!'

"Ow...that hurt...huh?"

Lana looked Shin in the eyes. Her silver eyes glistered. Lana then blushed,

"Umm...it's my first time, please be gentle."

"What the hell are you talking about?!"

Shin got off of Lana and stood up.

"Hey that's not fair, show me some affection too Shin," Rika said as she took a hold of his arm. Her breasts touching his arm.

Shin blushed beat red, thinking,

`Her breast!!! Big and Soft!!!` Shin smiled.

"Hey, he's mine!" Lana took hold of his arm too.

`And her...well they're ok...`

Alexandro chuckled,

"I see your popular with the girls."

`But why is the question.`

Rika and Lana would continue to fight over Shin, then the infirmary door opened. Damien walked in alongside Sakura, Melina, Suzu, and a man wearing a black hoodie. Damien cleared his throat,

"I see you're feeling better now, Shin."

"Well yeah, I guess so."

Rika and Lana helped Shin back on the bed.

"To think you took care of that monster by yourself. I'm impressed."

"Huh? I did?"

"You don't remember Shin? Well, these 3 remembered clearly. They saw you take care of that monster by yourself."

Shin scratched his head, confused.

"I'm sorry but my memory is a bit blurry."

"Oh, it'll return to you," Alexandro said as he smiled.

"Uh-huh..." Shin scratched his head, Rika and Lana still holding on to his arms.

"What's with you two?" Shin questioned them.

"Well, you did save them." Sakura reminded him.

The two ladies smiled at Shin.

"Anyways, there must be a reason why you guys are here." He looked at the group.

Sakura walks up,

"We've decided that you three are going to be candidates." She said as she looked at Rika, Lana, and Shin.

"Candidate? Candidate for what?"

Alexandro spoke next,

"You are going to be one out of the hundreds that are participating to become one of the elite tens."

"Elite ten?"

"The elite tens made up of S-ranks and they are representatives of the school in the Terminal Battlefield," Damien explained.

"So they're the ones that compete in the tournament?"

"They are also the student council, but the elite ten sounds more unique." Alexandro sipped on his tea. He spat some out.

"Hot!"

Shin sighed,

"So why am I being chosen? I mean I understand these two but why me?"

Everyone except Shin facepalm and sighs, Shin rubbed his head,

"Are you not aware of your power?" Damien asks him,

"Huh?" Shin brought his stat window out and read it.

"Ohh... I see now."

"Yes, now you understand right?"

Shin swiped his stat window away. He then recalls when the blue-haired girl gave her power to him.

`That must be how I got stronger...` Shin said as he touched his forehead.

"So, how do I do this, Join the elite ten."

"First you'll have to pass the trials that we'll be giving out, then you'll have to fight the players that passed the trials," Melina spoke.

"Wait, so you guys are part of the elite ten?" Shin said as he stared at Sakura, Melina, and Suzu.

"Yes we are, that also includes him." Sakura pointed at Alexandro.

"Ahh I see, so whos ranked where?" Shin questioned

Alexandro stood up,

"I'm ranked 5th in the elite ten. Sakura is ranked 4th, Melina ranked 6th, and Suzu ranked 7th."

The man in the black hoodie coughed. Shin turned towards him.

"Who's he?"

Alexandro turned towards the hooded figure.

"Oh him? That's Blake Seigfried. He's ranked 2nd in the elite ten." Alexandro smiled.

"2nd ranked?"

Shin looked at Blake, he emitted a dark ominous aura, but it was suppressed so it wasn't that easy to sense.

So he's way stronger than all of you?"

The other elites scratched their head and nodded. Blake walked out of the room and closed it.

"Since your feeling better now, you can go back to the dorms. It's been almost a week since you went unconscious." Damian said

"A week?!" Shin panicked

"It's Monday."

"Have I missed anything important?"

"Nope, you're fine."

"That's a relief..." Shin calmed down a bit.

"Well, Shin, we'll announce the trial dates, so be prepared," Alexandro said as he walked out, Sakura, Melina, and Suzu followed.

Damien turned his attention to Rika and Lana,

"You two should leave him alone, you're making your move too fast on him," Damian said as he walked out.

"Mmm, fine, see you later Shin." Lana walks out first.

Shin blinked and turned towards Rika who was 3 inches in front of his face. Rika smiles,

"I'll see you in class tomorrow." She gets up and walks out but before she closes the door, she blows Shin a kiss. Shin blushes, looking away.

Shin looked out the window thinking,

`The elite ten huh? Looks like I'm gonna have to get stronger.` Shin takes his dog tag out and looks at his rank. He was still F-rank.

"..."

`Maybe I should rank up first. And...`

Shin brought his stat window out and looked at the 3 new abilities he just obtained.

Abilities: Godspeed, Psychokinesis, Foreshadow, +1

`Godspeed, that must be a better form of acceleration. Psychokinesis...`

Shin looked at the chair that Alexandro was sitting on, he pointed his hand at the chair. Shin's hand glowed blue and the chair would suddenly float.

`Huh, this is pretty cool.`

Shin looked at his left wrist, the vitality number went down by 1000.

`Uses 1000 vitality though, but since I have so much now, it won't be that much of a problem. And now the last skill, Foreshadow?`

Shin rubbed his head, confused.

`Hmm, what does it do?`

Shin read the info of Foreshadow.

Foreshadow: Unknown

`Unknown huh? Well, whatever.`

Shin got up and looked out the window.

`Guess I should get ready for the trials of the Elite ten.`

The sun shined directly on Shin, he smiled as he continued to think of the elite ten.

But what he didn't know, was that his shadow was in the form of a devil.
