Chapter 9-The Devil Awakens
"A desert...really?"
Sakura had come from the other side of the B-ranked portal which had camouflaged itself as a low-rank portal. Sakura turned around and noticed the tall tower.
"That must be where they are."
Sakura walked up towards the tower when suddenly,
'BOOM!!!'
A pillar of light shot out from the top of the tower.
"What the?!"
Her senses started to tingle.
"2 B-rank monsters? No that's not it. 1 of them isn't a monster."
Sakura would quickly run towards the tower.
Meanwhile inside the tower...
Apex and Shin engaged in a staredown. Apex's snake-like eyes went up against Shin's blue glowing eyes. Rika and Lana noticed that Shin had a black horn growing from the left side of his head.
Apex and Shin would emit a killing intent at each other, but Shin's killing intent felt so much stronger, that Apex even backed up a few feet. Shin's aura was slowly rising. Apex slowly walked up towards Shin.
"So, you've come back to die once more I see." Apex arrogantly said as he sharpened his claws, approaching Shin. Shin also approached Apex. Every step that Shin took, pieces of rubble would move aside, giving Shin a flat ground to walk on. Apex and Shin would stop in front of each other.
Apex was nearly double the size of Shin, so Apex had to look down. This, however, didn't even faze Shin. Shin's hair was covering his eyes.
"You came back just to die once more I see." Apex rose his arm, reading to slice Shin's arm off. Shin stood still, not moving an inch.
Apex narrowed his eyes
`He's just gonna accept his fate huh? Well, that means less work for me.`
Apex grinned and swung his claws at Shin, but what happened next was unexpected. Apex looked at Shin with an impressed look. Shin blocked Apex's claws with his just his left index finger, the claw only leaving a small cut. Shin recoiled his right arm, clenching his fist. He then punched Apex in the stomach, multiple cracks were heard. Apex staggered back holding his stomach. He would then fall on his knees. The blow from Shin had broken a few of his rib cages and several of his scales had fallen off.
"What the hell? That hurt. THAT HURT!!!" Apex's tone became louder.
Lana and Rika were confused. First of all, Shin was lying dead on the ground a few minutes ago. He had 3 large holes in his chest, 1 of them even pierced his heart. Then, he comes back suddenly and he was able to injure the super-intelligent creature. Lana and Rika used stat vision on Shin. Their eyes would suddenly widen. Shin's stat window appeared in front of them.

Shin's stats had suddenly been boosted and they were all almost perfect numbers. Lana's had so many thoughts going around in her mind.
`What the hell happened? How did he become so powerful? He blocked that attack with only his finger?`
Lana turned towards Rika. Rika's expression was the same. They were both stunned by the level of energy that Shin released.
"I'll cut your head off..." Apex would crouch down, extending his arms, his claws extended. Shin stood there, standing still.
Apex the dashed at super speed, slashing all his vital areas. Apex glid across the floor. He grinned and turned around, expecting to see gashes everywhere on Shin but it turns out that it was an afterimage. Apex cautiously looked around.
"Where'd he go?" Apex would crouch down again, looking around. Apex backed up and suddenly bumped into Shin. Apex turned around and Shin grabbed him by the neck with his right arm. Apex would struggle to breathe as Shin was crushing his neck.
"You...you..."
Shin generated Black energy around his other arm.
'BOOM'
A black dome of energy would surround them. Shin lets go of Apex, but Apex couldn't move. The energy inside the dome had frozen Apex in place.
"This is..."
"Dark magic..."
Rika and Lana studied the dome that Shin had created. Shin walked out of the dome and Apex was stuck in there, unable to move.
The was banging noises at the gate. Rika and Lana turned their attention at the gate. The gate got knocked down and Sakura walked in the tower. She looked over at Shin's direction, staring at the dome of energy that he created. She looked at Apex, stuck inside the dome.
`That must be the B-rank monster.`
Then she looked over at Shin.
`That kid. Isn't he...`

Sakura is seen walking down the hallway with Suzu and Melina. Melina and Suzu were having a discussion with each other while following Sakura. They were talking about the Terminal Battlefield.
"Looks like we're running short on S-ranks this year..."
"Yes, we need 3 more members or were not gonna be able to enter the tournament this year."
"Yeah...good thing we have some candidates though."
"But will they be able to get become an S-rank?"
"Mmm, I don't know...what do you think Sakura."
Sakura stops in front of Damien's classroom. Melina and Suzu stop as well.
"What's wrong Sakura?" Melina said as she looked at Sakura.
Sakura looked through the door window. There, standing next to Damien, was Shin and his stats exposed. Sakura observed him and his stats.
"Who's that kid?"
"Hmm, who?" Melina and Suzu looked through the window.
"That's the new kid, Shin I believe..." A soft male voice spoke.
The trio turned towards the man. The man had blonde hair, green eyes, and pale skin. He wore a long, silver buttoned white coat with three separate coattails with gold linings going down the edge of the coat. He also wore black cargo pants with black boots.
"Shin...his class, what it is? I never saw it before. Also, why aren't you in your school uniform?" Sakura questioned
"The devil class, I heard from Mister Damien that it's a class rarer than the God class. Since it's new, not much information can describe it. All we know is that he was chosen. And for my school uniform, I just didn't want to wear it today."
Sakura rolled her eyes and looked back inside the class,
"Why are his stats so low?"
"I don't know but from what I heard from Mister Damien, his parents got involved in an -rank raid. His mother made it out without an arm, but his father never made it. That made the kid afraid of anything relating to raids and his father."
"So...tragic past, I see..."

`HISS!!!`
Sakura turns her attention back to Apex.
`It can talk???`
Apex opened his mouth, uttering the words.
"Your...your a monster..."
Shin made no reaction, then he smiled. Shin swept back his hair revealing his cold blue eyes, this made Apex silent and his flames died down. Shin opened his mouth,
"Monster??? No...I'm the devil!" Shin corrected Apex.
Shin would then snap his fingers, this caused the dark dome to suddenly transform into a black hole. Apex would dissolve into the black void. The void would close as it finished devouring Apex.
Shin turned around and walked into the middle of the tower, there a sword formed out of the ground, covered in dark energy. Shin took hold of the handle, the dark energy suddenly became black slime and crawled up his arm. The slime would wrap around his left arm, Shin would absorb the energy stored inside the slime. The slime became transparent and dropped down on the ground.
Shin turned back towards the sword. The pommel appears to have a skull on it, the grip having an interwoven pattern. The guard is skeletal, with a skull-design on each side leading to the rib cage from which the blade emerges. The skulls would appear to be smiling. The crossguard seems to have talons coming out from the end.
Shin pulled the sword out of the ground. It would release a huge wave of energy, blowing anything in a 10-meter radius away.
Shin inspected the blade. The blade was double-edged and heavy. The color of the blade was jet black. Shin spun the sword around as if it was lightweight. He then opened his spatial storage and tossed it inside. He then turned around looking Sakura straight in the eyes. His glowing eyes would stop glowing, his horn disappearing and he fainted.
Chapter 10-The Elite Ten of Overworld
