CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

They reached the restaurant and was ushered to a table by the waitress. They took their seat and began to go through the menu."I will go for the chicken and chips" Josphine said

"alright I will have that too" he said and faced the waiter,"we will have chicken and chips"

"alright" the waiter said and left.

"about that incident, hope your parent weren't to upset?"

"I don't really know, haven't the wedding be called off?"

"yes"

"why?"

"it won't be easy to Josphine, it's going to be really difficult"

"why, because of your parent?"

"hm, they chose her and they are really bent on making her their daughter in-law and like you've seen, she also difficult"

"what if the wedding doesn't later get cut off"

"I said I am going to call it of, the problem isn't calling it off, but..."

"am sure you get me"

"Josphine" he called. The waiter arrived at the table with their order and served them before taking his leave.

"wow, it's looks delicious" she said,"enjoy your meal"

"their is a garden around here that I really love to go to, should we go there after our meal, it's called love garden"

"love garden?"

"hm" he said and she seized the opportunity to tease him.

"so you go to a love garden all by yourself, why? It's love garden, you are suppose to go with your lover"

"am going there with you"

"but you've been going there alone"

"that's because it always quiet and peaceful"

"alrigth." She said and started on her meal, adding ketchup to the chips before eating it. The both of them ate quietly, neither of spoke a word. They finished their meal and left for the love garden after Alex cleared the bill. When they got to the garden, Alex looked for a good spot to park his car and they came down from the car. The garden was beautiful, it was indeed quiet and peaceful like Alex said. it was surrounded with a lot of blooming flower, the ground was full of flower petals. Other couples were also at the love garden, having a good time. "It's really beautiful" she said and Alex smiled

"I knew you would love this place"

"come let's sit here " he said and they sat on a bench, faraway from other couples.

Josphine fixed her eyes on the flowers admiring it's beauty, the place was really peaceful and she loved the atmosphere. Josphine was to engrossed with the flowers that she failed to notice the intense gaze of the man that was sitted beside her and when she did, she looked away from the flower and met his gaze and a smile appeared on her face.

"are you here to look at the flowers or spend time with me" he said and she chuckled

"am sorry, the flowers are just too beautiful"

"but they are not as beautiful as you" he said and she smiled again.

"it looks like you've dated before?"

"why, am too good right?" he said and winked at her

"that's not the answer to my question"

"just admit it, well have dated a lot of girls in the past"

"are you bragging?"

"yes"

"and none worked"

"hm, it's just didn't"

"who broke up first, you or the girls"

"me"

"oh, look at him bragging" she said and he smiled

"and most especially because of my status"

"status?"

"I said to you over the phone that I had a lot say to you"

"yes, am listening" she said, her eyes carrying curiosity. He adjusted himself on the bench and leaned forward, towards her.

"Am Globex peterson Pitt's son" he said and waited silently for her to talk and when she did, the words that came out of her lips surprised him, " I know" she said and he narrowed his eyes at her,

"you did?"

"yes"

"my brother went to deliver chicken to an employee at Globex and he saw you and came to know that you are peterson Pitt's heir"

"I thought he was a waiter?"

"he his, but he works part time at a chicken restaurant as a delivery man"

"were you mad, that l didn't tell you?"

"I wasn't, to be sincere,at that moment, I felt hurt, I felt betrayed and a lot of doubt came to my mind, 'Is he using me, what if he doesn't truly love me' things like that you know"

"and you still came here with me"

"have given it a lot of thought and realized that you hadn't really lie to me,when I asked where you worked, you had said Globex and when I asked what you do there, you said you held a position, I was the one who concluded that you were manager and you chose to play along"

"I was just worried"

"that I might chase you away or be after your money and do not really love you? We are from different worlds Alex the one who is now worried is me, your fiancee keeps coming to threaten me and stuffs like that, only God knows what she would do next, do you now understand why I said that the problem you have with calling off the wedding is me?"

"Josphine" he called

"am a dropout, a girl from a poor home, compared to your status,am not a match, what if you end up marrying her"

"that won't happen, I don't love her, don't you get, the one I want to be with is you, don't I deserve to be happy" he said and ran his hand through his hair." I know my parent won't give in easily but at least let's give it a try, there is a lot of thing I wish to do with you Josphine, I wish to start a home with you, having to wake up in the morning and see you beside me, making babies with you, there a lot. "it's not like I don't feel that way too, but...
