The approach of night was as stealthy as ever. The cold and quiet gradually coated the town. The streets got empty while the lights of the houses turned on.
Sitting on the bench, two young men wordlessly gazed at the sky, each deep in their own thoughts.
"I'm sorry," a mellow voice was what shattered the tranquility.
"...Don't apologize."
There is no need, Kieran emphasized.
"I've forgotten many things."
"Some things are better forgotten forever."
"I shouldn't have forgotten about you."
"You didn't forget about me."
Eyes still glued to the stars, Kieran shook his head from side to side.
"And even if some memories are erased, let them be. I'm not the same person, neither are you. So those old recollections are pretty useless."
Kieran briefly glanced at the person beside him. He was a young man, an adult.
