Terrify

Reaching the office building she took the empty elevator and entered the Planning Department which to her surprise was empty except some employees here and there.

Apparently she was too early like usual. Master Lu liked it like that because he thought this way less people will see her or in rush hours the office is too crowded inviting unwanted trouble.

Walking to the Head of Planning Office Lei Xinyi knocked the door hearing a stoic 'come in'.

Entering she was met with a literally she-hulk. The woman was standing and Lei Xinyi who was tall for most women would look like an elf in front of the Amazonian. Glancing uninterestedly at her once, she sat on her seat.

Walking inside Lei Xinyi took a seat too in front of her without being told to and said with a persona, "I am Lu Xinyi, new in the Planning Department."

The woman face immediately hardened and her eyes started glaring at her. Her instant reaction told Lei Xinyi immediately that the woman had heard 'tales' about her.

Without breaking eye contact, the woman picked the receiver and dialed, "Liu Yan, drop by the office." then without waiting for the reply from the other side she hung up the receiver.

'Rude much…' Lei Xinyi had been in the presence of the woman for hardly ten minutes and she had the urge to strangle her.

Glancing on her desk Lei Xinyi saw her name plate 'Assistant Yun Wang'. Lei Xinyi single brow arched. For an assistant she had too cocky attitude to be truth.

Looking up at her with a hard expression Assistant Yun spoke, "Wonder my surprise when I heard an employee was appointed in our department when there was no interview or vacancy, that I know of and mark me when I say I am familiar with even the dust in this Department."

Taking a sip of water from her desk she spoke again, "Quite an irony, Right? I mean I didn't even know that there are back door hiring in the Li Corporation. Yun Qianqian, the daughter of one of the Directors had to struggle for nearly a year. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if you are the mother of President's illegitimate child."

The woman was directly calling her a bed warming bitch. Damn the woman was calling her a prostitute. Lei Xinyi had to stop herself from smashing the glass and put the shreds of glass from which she was drinking in that ugly face of her.

Lei Xinyi could take all kind of insults but such an insult could not be forgiven but since she couldn't do a murder so she smirked with her fisted hands under the table, "In that case I would watch my mouth if I were you."

The smug woman face contoured in different shades of rage in an instant. The woman could practically make a smash out of her but Lei Xinyi didn't care. There was nothing more fun than poking a smug woman.

Lei Xinyi only smirked at her in a provoking manner and winked at her fueling the fire but before anything could happen the door was knocked.

On permission a pixie small woman entered the office. She was continuously fidgeting with her fingers and avoiding eye contact. Lei Xinyi rolled her eyes, typical clumsy and squirmy.

Gritting her teeth Assistant Yun seethed, "Show Ms. Lu around and make sure she knows her place."

Lei Xinyi narrowed her eyes at the woman who had double meaning behind her words but didn't comment.

The meek short woman gave a curt reply, "Yes Mam." Then turning to Lei Xinyi she said, "Please Ms. Follow me."

Lei Xinyi got at once that the Department had been told to not get in trouble with her. And it wasn't because Li Yuan thought she was fragile and needed care but because he had a wounded ego to nurse.

Under his care Lei Xinyi was mentally 'tortured' by his secretariat. Master Lu words not her.

Lei Xinyi didn't mind the princess treatment at all. If she was given a leverage she could only be grateful after all she had no shit to deal with bitches or bastards.

Unlike the Secretariat the Planning Department was thrice that big and the people working were too many too. The place was busy even in the early hours.

It should be after all this place was responsible for Planning drafts and ideas for the entire Lu conglomerate. This place will be good for her she could feel it.

The Department was fast forward filling with people and the girl whose name was Liu Yan started telling her people name who were in the Department and brief information about them.

Lei Xinyi wasn't really listening but one thing that got her attention was Assistant Yun qualification. She was over qualified for an Assistant but she had a humble background and she was here to support Yun Qianqian.

'Weird... But none of my business.' Lei Xinyi shrugged and walked to her desk which was undoubtedly new and the spot was perfect, neither too noticeable nor too distant.

The stationary and accessories looked new and untouched. Lei Xinyi smiled. 'So Li Yuan did put a thought.'

The girl Liu Yan gave her a stack of files to work. Although it wasn't really pretty but she was entertained.

The whole staff was keeping their distances from her but she just didn't mind unless it doesn't do her any harm.

As she sat on her new desk her phone vibrated in her purse. Taking the phone out Lei Xinyi saw an unknown caller. Contemplating a second she picked the call.

"Hello! Who is it?"

"Sweetheart t, did you miss me?" Lei Xinyi heard Li Yuan voice from the other end. \

He ignored her question…. cocky bastard!

He must have taken her number from somewhere because she sure as hell she didn't give him her number.

She didn't give him a reply either an asked "Why did you call?"

Ignoring her retort Li Yuan chuckled and said with amusement, "I just wanted to make sure nothing 'terrifies' you here."

Lei Xinyi brought the phone away from her ear and looked at it in disbelief. 'What happened to the broody bastard Li Yuan and who was this happy-go-lucky man on the phone?!'

Shaking her head Lei Xinyi replied, "I am alive and kicking and as you are in quite a good mood I will hung up. Don't want anything contagious to catch me."

From the other end Lei Xinyi heard a laugh and immediately hung up.

Something made her curious what set LI Yaun on such a pleasant mood, was it because she came back here? At the thought Lei Xinyi shook her head. No can't be!

The man definitely hit his head somewhere!
